I have been going here since I was a kid and the last few times I have gone the food has been subpar

I ve been eating at Amigo s since the 80 s. Consistently outstanding food, friendly staff, clean atmosphere, lovely place to visit, easy to takeout, nice dining in, casual and friendly.

Mmmm, never go here enough. I used to think it was expensive.... but its so fresh and its very well priced... try not to over stuff yourself!! Lol Super soft beef taco... always my fave Food

Ive only ever visited on Tuesdays for the 2 Burrito special. Service has always been great. I like that there is a window that allows customers to see into the kitchen. Usually a sign of a well kept hygienic kitchen, The decor and paint job are a bit dated.

Save yourself this place and go to taco del mar, hab 97 or even taco bell and youll get better food. Not sure how this place manages to stay open and advertise as authentic Mexican. Taco bell has more authenticity than this place. No restaurant should ever microwave food.

The owner doesn t seem to ever be around or want to respect the workplace by not hiring enough staff to create a warm and homey environment. The staff is constantly stressed out making sure their customers have their needs met. The owner has to be aware of low staff and makes the choice to not help the team full 100%. It is hard on the employees because lots of people don t have the brain cells to understand that they re doing the best they can do where as the owner is not showing the same passion. Instead she s busy doing personal errands or not listening to her staff when they ask for more support. If you re gonna run a business make sure you re fully prepared and ready to help the team not leave whenever you want because you don t wanna be there anymore. Not how that works start treating the staff better because they re trying their best it s the owner that is not making the change. Some people should not own a restaurant if you re not able to make the store run smoothly enough for customers to be unhappy.

Staff are so friendly and really know their menu. We went when there were only a few people in the restaurant so it was very relaxing and there was no loud music blaring to hinder conversation. Food was absolutely delicious. I recommend the taco salad. Prices are very reasonable

Ok, I usually dont like giving bad reviews at restaurants because dining experiences can be subjective. I didnt particularly enjoy this restaurant, but that doesnt mean that the next person wont. However, I dont think you can call this place a Mexican restaurant. I challenge you to expand your menu and include some recipes that would be representative of Mexican cuisine.

POOR BURRITO I EVER TASTED

Pathetic excuse for Mexican food.. Mexi-Fries came in a plastic container so they steamed and were gummy. Hot dog was a Costco hot dog and bun but the bun was somehow wet. A burrito I ordered previously tasted and looked like it was made with the most pseudo-mexican ingredients you could find. I dont understand how this place has stayed open for so long. They should be charged with cultural appropriation their food is so bad. I have had a lot of Mexican food in my travels so my pallete might be different than the typical PGer who doesnt have a lot of options for Mexican food.. but come on Amigos. Do better.

Well i left a one star review here from last year and maybe said some stuff that got it taken down because I am absolutely STILL infuriated by this place posing as a mexicqn cantina. The one star reviews are NOT lying. Soupy mess, MICROWAVED(including the lettuce), no flavour, no quality. Just terrible. If you think taco bell is the bottom for mexican food, try this place and experience a new one! Forget the mexican part, its just terrible food period. I cant understand how people can give this the rating it has. Seriously go to mucho burrito or whatever chain resturaunt you can find over this one. Even just go to macdonalds. This isnt the cute hometown hole in the wall Diners Drive ins and Dives place with spectacular food this is more like a Kitchen Nightmare before Gordon Ramsey shows up. I am only here AGAIN writing this review to warn people because it ruined what was supposed to be the cap off to a special day out with my son. Should have just ate at the bowling alley. Honestly ive never experienced anything so BAD and i mean in or out of a resturaunt. Ive never tried prison food but i feel like this is what it would be like. Picture the school cafeteria from the simpsons. Thats what it felt like... and i tried really hard and wanted to find something i liked about the food and i couldnt. I cant understand how they stay open. Mexican cantina food is cheap and easy to make flavourful... hell they could even just do taco bell tex mex... but they do this instead. Very very sad and infuriating.

Awful service. Only one other occupied table in the entire restaurant, and no one came to take my order after I sat waiting for 15 minutes. I walked out.

Amigos is a comfortable little diner that offers authentic Mexican cuisine that is always fresh and plentiful. The prices were a bit high but that seems to be the new norm since the pandemic has left its ugly mark on the economy in Canada. I would recommend this place to my friends because the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff are great conversationalists that have hearts that are as big as their Burrito Supremes.

Friendly and respectful staff are quick to serve you with a smile with fresh Mexican cuisine. Prices have gone up like everywhere else since the pandemic but the size of the meals will definitely leave anyone satisfied.

Had the Fajita Friday special and I thought it was delicious. Ive heard mixed reviews about this place and its authenticity... I cant speak to that, but I can say Id eat there again.

Sad excuse for food and service. Had a missing item, not a big deal so i called to have it made so I could quickly grab it. Lady on the phone proceeded to tell me the item was definitely put in the bag. When i let her know it wasn t she awkwardly insisted another lady put the order together not her. Told her its okay, mistakes happen but the arguing and tone weren t very friendly so she clumsily passed the phone off to someone else without even letting me know. The second lady was very friendly but the damage was done. When i picked up the item the rude lady was standing wide-eyed at the counter and i started to say that its no sweat if theres a mistake, just dont lie or argue with customers. She promptly interrupted me mid sentence and snapped have a great day , obviously not willing to listen and wanting to sweep the mess under the rug instead of saving face and just apologizing like a normal human. Yikes. To top it off, burrito was falling apart and the beef had zero seasoning (even for being frozen and reheated it was bland and mushy). The taco bowl was totally burnt on the bottom and tasted like charcoal with this weird faint taste of bleach i swear there wasnt a grain of salt, pepper, chili powder or cumin in any component so its like eating a blandy soggy pile of burnt mush that tasted like cleaning supplies. I think this is my last time going to amigos in hopes of having food resembling what it used to be. It was never authentic, but it used to be fast and edible. Now it s overpriced slop, poorly prepared by staff with zero people skills or passion for food. Only good thing was the extra drink i got with the missing item. Experience was sub-subpar if thats even possible. Owner has no concept of quality control and hiring competent staff so theres no point in eating here unless youre 10 coronas deep and just need to fill your stomach. Frozen burritos from the gas station taste better to be totally honest so ill grab that next time and save myself the rudeness and extra trip from missing items. So much for trying to support local couldn t even finish the meal so i hope the crows at the dump enjoy it after garbage day The quality has continued to spiral downwards since the lady with the Karen haircut took over and I definitely get why a second location couldn t stay afloat. A liquor license would literally be the only draw but the 8th ave location never got one so the place closed. First Mai Thai, now Amigos im done giving my money to people that think PG is full of country bumpkins with no palette do better!

Quaint little shop, good portions, friendly staff, but definitely not authentic Mexican food. Similar to what you can make at home quite easily given the prices. Quite disappointed as I was looking forward to TACOs as I was passing through.

That past two time we ordered have been nothing but mushy burritos and the chicken tasted off.

They really held back on the fire hazard hot sauce. I could hardly taste it. That hot sauce is the only reason I go there.

Had this for dinner tonight and was severely disappointed. Food was soggy, tasted bland, hardly any meat or vegetables - was mostly condiments and sauce. For what you pay its a complete rip off, youre better off going to Mucho Burrito.

Ordered the beef especial and came as a soggy disgusting mess. Even while hungry I could only take 1 bite before I threw it in the trash

Food was decent, had the mexi-fries but they were greasy and tasted like they were microwaved. I would probably consider other options before coming back.

Wish they didnt microwave my food before they serve it to me. A convection oven will go a long ways for these types of food. My lettuce was gross from it being heated up. The tater tots were not crisp or fresh tasting .

Cannot seem to get the orders correctly lately. When you connect with them, they still mess up your order, and blame you. Will not arrange for food to be delivered to your location after they mess up. They are rude. Customer is never right. I miss your excellent service.

I thought i got a soft taco but i was hungry so i ate it anyways. Then i bit into it n it was soupy. Didnt feel like saying anything it was so gross and i dont think anything could save this. I ll pass next time i get asked to go here.

I agree with a previous reviewer. My beef super soft taco was very soupy and runny. The vast majority of it was just lettuce and sour cream with very little beef. I would even take Taco Bell over this. Wont be returning.

I was excited to try this place because it had good reviews. But when i received my food, it was awful. My burrito was slushy inside, the lettuce is both the burrito and taco salad were soggy. My burrito was lukewarm as if it were microwaved. Couldn t even make it past a couple bites.

Atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. Service with a smile! I had the special, two hardshell tacos fully loaded, with a tea. Nothing special. The beef in the taco had no flavor. The food was just average for me. Would I go back again, no I would not. I am not saying this in a mean way when I write this review, I am just stating my opinion. It is not a horrible place, but there are better. For such a great atnosphere the food had a cafeteria taste.

This is one of my favourite local places to go for lunch. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend trying the mexi fries, they are delicious.

Super gross Vegan Burrito. Basically all lettuce and sauce. It s really not that hard to make this taste good. Here s some tips: 1.) don t microwave you tortillas 2.) don t have your staff ask if you want olives in your burrito 3.) make equal proportions of rice and beans, not all beans 4.) don t save money by making it mostly lettuce
