A MUST in Quebec City. Delicious and an absolute favorite of ours. Really tastey! We usually get the Beef and Broccoli, Orange Beef, Le Cheong Fried Rice, Cantonese Chow Mein and thier new fried chicken fillet appetizer. Wonderful service and good eats always!
Excellent restaurant - nice ambiance, polite and friendly staff and the food was impeccable. We had Wonton Soup, Shanghai Noodles and Beef/Broccoli - all delicious! Email to make a reservation. We honestly enjoyed the entire experience from start to finish. The service was great and we really liked the staff. Will definitely have to come back when we are in Quebec City next. Thank you again Wong Restaurant!
3.5/5 Friendly service. Really enjoyed the "Wong beer". For this price range, we were expecting something more surprising and refined. Generous quantities, we suggest to ask the size of the dishes. The lobster dumpings were not available when we were there.
It was awesome! I went with my parents, we got the specialty menu and everything was perfect! No complaints whatsoever, I highly recommend stopping here for some fine Chinese cuisine:)
Such an incredible experience from beginning to end. The most amazing food I’ve had in Quebec when I was on vacation there. Everyone was incredibly kind as well, great service, great food.
I had a delicious and memorable meal at Restaurant Wong. The restaurant at has been in the family for several generations, and the current Chef, Steven Wong and his team have created a contemporary upbeat vibe. Classic Chinese dishes are elevated with a fine dining touch. The natural wine and cocktail program is well curated to pair with the cuisine. Although I loved each dish, the seasonal wonton soup and dumplings were awesome! The fried wontons that came with the gorgeous edamame hummus were also delectable and I could have shamelessly eaten them the whole dinner. Service was friendly and attentive. Restaurant Wong is a must visit for anyone seeking a fresh, modern Chinese dining experience and I can’t wait to return. As a note of caution, this little gem is very popular with locals and tourists alike. Booking in advance is essential during peak holidays and weekends.
Fabulous culinary experience! Went to this restaurant on a Saturday night with my two adolescents kids and all of us enjoyed everything about this place. From the warm reception, the classic asian decor, lights were low with nice music for atmosphere, the quality and politeness of the service and the food we had was so so delicious 🤤! We started with appetizers : - WONTON SOUP; it had plenty of « Quebec Porc » wonton in the soup and their Pho-inspired broth (chicken, porc, beef) was out of this world good. - QUEBEC WAGYU BEEF-CURRY DUMPLINGS; Five, medium size fried dumplings, filled with this Wagyu beef preparation were very tasty and the mango chutney added a beautiful sweet taste to them. We had three different main course: - SAKE ORANGE CHICKEN; The lightly breaded chicken pieces were juicy and of good size, cooked perfectly and delicious. The orange-sake sauce was exactly has described (sweet, spicy & tangy). Rice is served in a separate bowl at an extra cost. - GENERAL TAO’S CHICKEN: Exactly like you think a Tao Chicken tastes like but so much more tastier 😋. The chicken is lightly breaded with a very nice portion . Rice is also served as a side dish for an extra cost. - SAKE ORANGE BEEF: It’s basically the same as the Sake Orange Chicken except the beef strips are marinated in Sake which makes it so much more delicious to me. Add the sweet, spicy, tangy sauce to it and green onions on a bed of rice (sold separately) is a perfect dish! Fortune cookies were very good and always fun to read. We had a good laugh!😂 If you prefer to eat with chopsticks,🥢 you can, just ask for them, they will gladly bring some to you. All the portions were perfect to all of us. Better reserve a lot in advance because they are always full almost every night, that’s how good this restaurant is. (not open on Mondays & Tuesdays) We will go back for sure 👍🏻 GOOD JOB 👏
So happy to visit Quebec City again for the holidays and our tummies even more happy to dine again at Wong’s! We are a Chinese family and Wong’s is a must stop for us each time we visit …the food is excellent and the restaurant makes us feel at home. Chef Steve Wong (Grandson of founder Fred Wong) is a great chef and most charming!
Amazing dining experience. The dishes were so tasty and delicious that I licked my plate. Kid-friendliness: It all depends on what the child wants to eat. Wheelchair accessibility: 2 steps to climb to access the restaurant.
Very pretty and cozy. Welcoming staff, very accommodating with gluten allergy. Food was delicious! Vegetarian options: Edamame hummus and gluten free vegetarian Singapore noodles were delicious and steaming hot ! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free delicious Chinese dishes that aren t on the menu ! Fried chicken and cashew chicken.
Excellent meal and attentive service! We had a very pleasant evening with friends. We will surely come back!
First of all, it is important to know that you must reserve a place, otherwise try later in the evening for a table. Their formula thus allows us to take the time to eat and have a drink with the people who accompany us. Second, I went there with my partner and her mother for her birthday. Lots of gluten free options for my celiac partner, plus we learned they have an external restaurant that offers gluten free online ordering, fried chicken and super good! This free tasting will bring us back guaranteed! Then our dishes were all very good, beautifully cooked, tasty and the sauces were all well seasoned. Wagyu dumplings, edamame (correct seasoning), burrata, chicken with broccoli, orange beef and ribs. Everything was excellent. I must admit, however, that their wong beer is not bad, but it could be improved. I concluded my meal with an Old Fashion, wow it was a beautiful presentation and the best Ive had so far. Finally, I would like to highlight the excellent service of our waitress in addition to her extensive knowledge of the menu and her attention to the allergenic needs of her customers. The owners are also very nice. A big thank you for your special attention to my partner and to her mother for her birthday. It was very kind and we loved our choice of restaurant for that evening. I recommend and we will return. P.s. having been to this restaurant before the pandemic, going back now is only pleasant. The quality of the food is maintained, the beauty of the restaurant is very well maintained and also adapted, its really good to see that the succession of the restaurant cares about what they do. Nice work!
Excellent dinner in this friendly restaurant. The meal (5/5): We took the table dhôte for 2 people. We loved it, it was excellent. The General Tao, Chow Mein and Shrimp Fried Rice were scrumptious. The food was hot and the portions generous. Atmosphere: Warm (5/5). Although the restaurant was full on this Sunday evening, we could talk to each other without having to raise our voices to understand each other. The fact that there is no loud music like in some restaurants must contribute to this. Welcome and staff (5/5): the very kind hostess welcomed us with a smile and the waiter was in a good mood and friendly. It was our first time there and we intend to come back.
If you re in QC, this is a must! Excellent!!
Really nice atmosphere. Service was on point. I can only speak for the orange chicken and the wonton soup. For the price, the quantity of food was minimal and while the ingredients were definitely fresh, it just didnt impress.
Mediocre at best.
Absolutely fabulous! We hope to return soon. The principle is Cantonese fusion cuisine, so dishes to share. We took: - Wagyu beef dumplings (fried) - Bison egg rolls - Lobster and chanterelle dumplings, served in a tasty bisque - Shanghai chicken, served with roasted and lightly smoked vegetables with long, thick noodles, in a delicious soy sauce (if you like Chinese macaroni, this is a must!) - Shrimp chow mein, served in a delicate broth and al dente ramen noodles Not to mention the original and tasty cocktails! In addition, the portions are very generous and the staff is friendly and attentive. The bill is a little steep, but its worth the cost. Please note: places are limited. You must book in advance.
I ll say upfront that when I booked the reservation, it wasn t done through a website/portal, it was by emailing the staff directly. Normally I d be queried about allergies, but in the course of trying to secure a res at the hot spot that is Wong, I forgot to specify my wife s bivalve allergy. After walking all over the city, we were starved and exhausted. We showed up only to discover that there was no way for her to eat at Wong. Apparently, all the food is cooked in one singular wok, and they cannot prevent cross-contamination. So either she ate hummus with a fork (because the chips are fried in the one aforementioned wok), or she went hungry. I wouldn t say the staff was empathetic, and it took almost 20 minutes to hash the conversation out. Maybe it s as good as people say, we wouldn t know. Dietary restrictions: They cannot (or will not) accommodate you
Amazing food quality and service. If you love Chinese food a must in old Quebec.
Western-style Chinese food, with a nice environment and enthusiastic service, is not suitable for authentic Chinese tastes.
Discovered by the podcast Le restaurant de mes parents (Radio-Canada Ohdio), I was not disappointed. The Americanized Chinese dishes of my youth, but revisited, tasty and above all much more refined. Everything was delicious and delicate, served at the right temperature and at the right time. The decor is to match. Dont be fooled by the sullen storefront and adorably retro posters (dont change anything). An efficient and pleasant service. I highly recommend. We will return there, thats for sure.
Food was very good, but the service seemed slow. Restaurant was full, with only two servers (possibly 12 tables total), so perhaps just busy, but it seemed like staff could have been more attentive explaining the delay. Great drinks, will give it another try next time visiting Quebec City.
Excellent food, impeccable service, courtesy of the staff
Fake chinese food, they have plenty empty seats but tell you its fully booked. After waiting an hour, you get in and order them its another hour waiting for the fake chinese food to be brought to your table.
If you dont want to ruin your trip, just ignore this restaurant. Fake Chinese restaurant. They boasted about how delicious their food was in a restaurant without Chinese customers and waiters. They didnt even know how to serve Chinese food. We ordered four main courses and after waiting for 40 minutes, not a single dish had been brought to our table. When I expressed my concern to the waitress, explaining that it was 8 oclock and my kids were hungry, she simply responded with, It is Friday, in a very dismissive manner. It was clear that they do not care about their customers at all. We decided to leave and went to DOrsay instead. When we explained that we had been waiting 45 minutes for our meal at the previous restaurant, they took only 10 minutes to bring all our drinks and meals to the table. The contrast in service was remarkable and ironic. I would not recommend the first restaurant to anyone.
Excellent dining experience in the heart of Quebec. Highly recommended. The food was superb, particularly the combination fried rice, cooked in the proper way.
Very nice restaurant. The food was excellent as was the service.
FABULOUS ! We were charmed by the Wong restaurant, the service and its exceptional cuisine. We were received in an extraordinary way. The dishes were tasty and excellent. The food products are of high quality and everything is homemade in the restaurant, that makes a big difference. We were on our first visit, we will return.
Great food but the service spoiled the entire experience.
We arrived late and they could have refused us because the kitchen was closed but we were welcomed. The noodles for me and the fried rice for my wife were a treat! I recommend it if you are passing through the national capital and have a craving for Asian cuisine.
I can literally cook all these easily at home.
Highly recommended the pork baby back ribs. The bones just separated cleanly and the meat was very tasty.
Best Cantonese rice in the Quebec region if not in Quebec. Authentic Chinese sausage. Steven Wong is one of the best Chinese Chefs. He respectfully mixes family tradition and his passion for creating new dishes. A must-have. 10/10
Very beautiful lounge atmosphere inside. The best won tong soup I have eaten (as a main course) crunchy vegetables, well-filled ravioli, the broth is just a marvel and the cocktails are very original, go there with your eyes closed.
If youve ever waited for a phone call that seemed to never come, or waited for a quick end to high inflation, then you have a feel for what waiting for service was like at Wong last week. Although there were only 2 other tables occupied when I & my wife arrived when the restaurant opened at 5:30, it took 20 minutes for the waiter to take our order although we noted upon being seated that we were ready to order. Things didnt change much from there. Of course any restaurant can dictate their service style, but Wongs doesnt work for me.
Very good Asian fusion restaurant! The service is quick and pleasant, while the food is authentically pleasing to all palettes. Make sure to book in advance by email as it is quite busy :)
Great experience! We went there as a family to celebrate our mothers birthday. The food was excellent and the service was great. There are even options for people with dietary restrictions (vegan, gluten-free). I loved my visit, I will go back without hesitation!
Beautiful restaurant, comfortable, nice welcome and good service, delicious meal. Bravo and thank you for the beautiful evening! Vegetarian options: I ate the edamame as a starter and the bowl of vermicelli and vegetables, delicious! Dietary restrictions: It must also be said that I am vegan, gluten-free and allergic to peanuts, and I ate without problem or judgment, and with more than one option, which is better than many other places!
Nice balance of flavors.
Excellent food and dishes. A great culinary experience I warmly recommend to have when you re here. Humous is definitely amazing !!!
Great little place, food and service was amazing. 3rd generation owners. Worth doing a detour for this restaurant. Will definitely be coming back.
Wow, what a great first experience! I highly recommend Delicious meal, very generous portions, warm atmosphere & courteous service! Already looking forward to going back!
Wow! Chinese foods in Rest Wong hits different. We had a nice experience tonight. The staffs are really good and very attentive. They are very welcoming to their guests which is a star for us
My wife and I had wanted to visit Wong the last few times we were in Quebec City but never made it. This trip we were able to get a reservation and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was very comfortable and cosy, the food was delicious, and the drinks were great as well. I ordered the Szchewan Old Fashioned and it was a really interesting twist on the classic. Service was very friendly and attentive as well. Would highly recommend, but make sure you book well in advance as it is done by email.
Family restaurant with simple decor and a friendly atmosphere. Elaborate menu which offers a revisited version of Chinese cuisine. Good choice of drinks. Excellent service. Only downside: some dishes were not available or there was only one portion left and the beef with orange was overcooked (tough).
Great restaurant where the food is extraordinary.
Without more, we do the same at home. Is it normal that the restaurant does not offer dessert on the menu?
Honestly great meal and service and drinks wow- fresh and clean!!! Heavy on fresh vegetables
My lover and I chose this restaurant in a nod to the circumstances of our meeting 15 years ago. We had an excellent evening, in particular, thanks to the warm and personalized service from the team. Several great explorations, both in terms of food and drinks. Beautiful restoration!
Extremely helpful staff, incredible food, honest and friendly owners, what more could you ask for? A must-visit restaurant for an authentic Asian experience! Thank you for this beautiful moment. We loved the sharing style with our large group, where several starters and dishes were offered to us in order to taste several Chinese flavors.
Truly excellent! Everything is balanced: not too sweet, not too salty, not too spicy, perfect!! The waiter is very helpful. Only problem... The music was a little jarring, at least when I went there. But I will still go back :)
Mythical Quebec restaurant, very pleasant atmosphere and excellent meal
Oh well. Food was okay
Everything is excellent!
Went because of all good reviews. Looking for good Chinese. Unfortunately, was mediocre. I have experienced some of the best authentic Chinese cuisine and this just didnt live up. Was not bad but disappointing. Service good staff friendly but thats it.
Had Orange chicken Chicken is not fresh Dissapointed Taste is below average Food : 3/5 |
The most amazing food I ve ever had
In addition to being less often open than closed, se boui-boui thinks itself to have the quality necessary for old Quebec without having the recipes or the staff.... disappointing on almost all counts!!!! Parking: Lots of difficulty parking, be HIGHLY advised
Secret too well kept in Quebec! Open for over 63 years, 3rd generation in the kitchen. Top notch cuisine!
Phenomenal asian food in Quebec. Highly recommend the orange chick and beef & broccoli. Friendly staff.
one pick meal for KOREAN : poulet a la sauce soja Kid-friendliness: wide space
Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, friendly service - the best Chinese restaurant for diverse preferences.
Great experience! Chinese cuisine revisited and delicious! The atmosphere and decor makes us believe that we are in a Chinese restaurant in New York! We had a wonderful dinner, the service was perfect and we followed their recommendations. Wow for the dumplings! And the cocktails are very good!
Perfect place
Stumbled upon this restaurant by chance when were in Quebec.Thought we would not get a table, due to the Reservation only sign at the door, but they could accomodate us. Ordered the Table d hote menu and was pleasantly surprised with the taste, quality and portion sizes. Even had 3 South African wines on their winelist. Really enjoyed our dinner and can gladly recommend this restaurant! Keep up the good work!
We went on a Saturday evening, and not only was the food exceptionally delicious, but the service was attentive, prompt, and efficient. The ribs are simply to die for. Noodles = happiness. I cant wait to go back. To put on your list of restaurants to visit without fail in Quebec.
I had an incredible time. The food is very delicious and everything was perfect. Very friendly staff. That we will return for sure. Thank you !
interesting and delicious quebec influenced variations of North American Chinese restaurant fare. Warm, cozy and calm atmosphere with few tables, but never felt crowded or loud. Old stone walls and wood provided nice charm. We ordered the price fixed menu for 2 and portions were large enough to have leftovers. Gen Tsao chicken, Catonese chicken both delicious. Will definitely be returning. Advanced reservations recommended.
One of the best Chinese meals I have had and thats after living in the Bay area. Delicious!
Very rude people. We tried to make a reservation twice and they said they have no space. We went there and the tables were empty but they denied us because we couldn t speak French. I have never met such form of racism anywhere in Quebec City but this hit hard. I wanted to take my parents out for dinner here but this spoiled our night. Highly disappointed with the restaurant. I suggest anyone who is against such behaviour to not go here.
Not sure if they are racist, but when we went to the restaurant first we were ignored for a few minutes after which we were told we are full even when we could see a table empty with no reserved sign on it. Won t suggest anyone to go there.
Denied service 1:15 mins before closing time & though many tables were empty.
We were trying to get into the restaurant for two days and they hung up on us! Wow! Never going back no matter how good the food is! Customer service sucked.
We had dinner there, it was pleasant, delicious meals and very good service. Although there was no longer a certain dish that we would have liked to have, we found the other meals delicious. Be aware that the restaurant is in a tourist area so the prices are higher. We wish the rice bowl was included in the price of the orange chicken. I really liked the service from the staff who were friendly! I recommend ! Parking: This is old Quebec...
People from Beijing came to Quebec and wanted Chinese food, so they chose this one nearby. Overall, it s delicious! Although its not serious Chinese food, it tastes good Wonton appetizer, three wontons, delicious, the soup is also good But it is indeed quite different from Chinese wontons. For the main course, I ordered Cantonese fried noodles. It is a soup noodle with fresh vegetables, shrimp, pork, etc. Although it has nothing to do with domestic noodles, it is really delicious. In the cold autumn, it rained for a few days, so it would be nice to eat heart-warming and delicious food I read reviews that the service was average, but personally I didn t feel coldly treated. The whole process is in English and the service is very good
Good restaurant but it became difficult to get there by car.
So many restaurants here, skip this one very rude. We made a reservation through an antiquated process of emailing the owner. arrived on time and after 20 minutes of staring at one another had no waiter. When this was brought up to the white gentleman working in the front said theyre rushed and not his problem instead of being apologetic. This place is a joke.
We had a reservation and arrived on time. We decided to leave after 20 min of no service and no one taking our order. We had to stand up and ask someone and one of the staff said: we are in a rush. What kind of answer is that? Half the restaurant was empty and it is really tiny. Did not apologize at all, so we just left the restaurant.
Excellent rest :)
Love this restaurant! I ve lived in San Francisco & New York City with great Chinese restaurants, but always hard to find really crispy chicken. Yours is the best! Also love the spice you add to the Endamame. So good I visited twice on my trip!
Really great takeout experience; staff was super friendly. Portions were generous, food had great flavours. Look forward to the next time!
Delicious discovery, impeccable food and service. We will return there on our next visit to Old Quebec. Pascale
Too good, impeccable service, hot and succulent food, very good and different aperitif THANKS
We loved our experience at Wong: it is definitely the best Chinese restaurant in Quebec! The atmosphere is cozy, the service is attentive and the food is simply exquisite. Each dish is so tasty, we had the impression of traveling to a modern, tasty and revisited China. This restaurant has nothing to do with the other Chinese restaurants in Quebec, it was a perfect culinary experience all round.
Very good quality cuisine, in quantity and service worthy of the biggest brands. Without doubt among the best Asian restaurants in Quebec. To discover!!!
Wasnt expecting much when I walked in; the wife just wanted some Chinese food. Holy cow was this place next level. Proper Asian cuisine but with some subtle French influence. Not some hack fusion resturant thats trying too hard; this chef really gets it. Easily one of the top 10 meals Ive ever had. This is a destination restaurant in QC, not just a break from the usual fare in town.
Very good cuisine which does not reinvent the concept of Chinese restaurant but which does it with skill. Fresh ingredients cooked deliciously. Attentive staff.
Stay away from this restaurant, the food is bad.
Not much to look at from the outside, almost passed it by...but the food is incredible. I had the wonton soup and it was so fragrant and flavourful. Cosy atmosphere inside. Exactly what was needed on a rainy night.
We enjoyed ourselves. In our opinion, the best Cantonese restaurant in Quebec.
The best Cantonese chow mein Ive eaten to date, its worth the price, very tasty, generous portion, Im going back.
It s true that your restaurant is good. I went for dinner on June 12, my family and I were delighted and then pleasantly surprised. Well done, I even had the chance to taste a new local IPA that wasn t yet on the menu.
Best Chinese restaurant in Quebec
I forgot to take a photo before I started eating, so they don t look as pretty, but I can sure you both dishes were incredibly delicious. After a week of visiting Quebec City, I still think of the taste from time to time. The spices were a bit hot for me, and there were also some sand-like pepper that hurt my tooth a bit. Otherwise, really great and I would go back.
Excellent food and service!
Excellent table, surprising Chinese dishes different from the others which are out of the ordinary. To try
Amazing, authentic, a must every time in town
Service was very good. Interesting choices.
decent chinese food in old quebec
The food and the service is awesome. I spent the entire month of December 2021 in Quebec City and ate here several times. Will be one of the first restaurants I visit upon my return.
My colleague and I enjoyed an excellent meal in a relaxed, friendly environment. The waitress was friendly and helpful, the food was flavoursome, substantial and reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will come again the next time we are in Québec .
Wow... I took a trip back to my childhood... the real Asian taste of my memories...
Great restaurant, tasty dish and impeccable service!
40 years ago on Dec. 4th 1982, we had a honeymoon dinner at Wongs and we came back to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and it was as good as we remember! Thank you Wongs. 5 stars for sure!
The food was so good and you can tell was freshly made, high quality meat and crafted with care. Love it! The egg rolls are like no other!
I loved my Cantonese noodle dish... in my opinion one of the best dishes I have ever eaten
We had an excellent meal here recently. The service was slow, some inexperienced staff. This is a place take your time and share some of the very tasty offerings. I would recommend. Reservations are a must to ensure your evening table.
Hands down the best food in town. And the price is great. Each dish is enough to serve two definitely worth visiting again And again . Kid-friendliness: The staff is friendly and understanding if you can t speak French
One of my favorite places since the start of the pandemic! I live nearby so I have to admit that I assumed it was a tourist trap, but I was wrong! Im not the biggest fan of Cantonese food, but I find myself ordering it again and the Szechuan options are highly satisfying. I suggest the mapo tofu and the duck confit rolls. I will definitely go there when the pandemic is over!
First time at this restaurant. Takeaway menu, we had a good distance to cover before arriving home. Everything is packed too well to avoid damage and stay warm. The food... Very good. Best soup, eggroll and fried rice Ive had in a long time!! Its worth the trip to downtown!
Delicious
Canton cuisine. Very delicious. Would definitely come back.
Really good restaurant
Excellent as always very good service!!
Great
We just finished dinner, excellent service and excellent meal! We recommend! Pierre and Lucie Desjardins
Best authentic Chinese restaurant in all of Quebec City!
The best authentic chinese food in town! The best Beef & Broccoli! The serving is big that can be shared. The guys who served us are the best! Everyone who visit Quebec City should try this restaurant. Kudos guys!
Great soup, freshly made and pelnty of seefood it. Outside tables are in the middle of the street and a bit hard to enjoy your meal, but great service, pleasent experience. I hope to be back for more dishes, it seems to be popular and lines up during Saturday mid-day.
The fried chicken bao was pretty interesting, also very filling. You can request no noodles and more veg for wonton soup and that was nice! Rice noodles arent good... Very very very very oily. Service quick and prompt!
Its my third time comming at this Restaurant and sad to say, they dont do take out. We are all fully vacinated, my friends doesnt want a dine in. We just wants to order a take out. For the first time in my life I heard a Restaurant who dont do take out. The Restaurant is fancy and clean, the STAFF are nice and customers there dressed fancy.
I would accept the owners apologies and edit the rating judging the circumstances. But Id like to clarify that I was at the restaurant from 18:15 till 18:30 that day, not between 12:00 and 17:00. I told me that I wanted to order a takeout, and then I was seated outside the door for 15 minutes. The male waiter handed the takeout order to the previous Asian female customer in front of me, and then said that they would not do takeout today. I ignored him when I questioned him. This is provided here for those who intend to visit Quebec City. If you plan to order Chinese takeout there, you may encounter this situation. I dont mind waiting but this one wasnt right. I arrived at the restaurant and told the server that I am ordering a takeout as he was taking another customers payment for her takeout. He told me he would be back so I waited outside. 15 minutes passed when he came out with the ladys order, he told me that they dont do takeout tonight. That was an outrageous! No matter how good your foods may be, your poor customer service, or even maybe possible discrimination , cancels everything.
Delicious!! A must-see in Quebec!
Exceptional service, incredible menu! I highly recommend!
Food was good, waitress was kind, and water glasses were kept full but overall service was very poor. We were only given 2 menus for 4 people, we were not allowed the have simple substitutions (e.g. a dish made with only noodles and meat, no vegetables) and were told only 3 entrees were gluten free but then my dish was made with gluten free soy sauce which could have equalled many more three meal options. One waitperson seemed to take any special request as an affront. It took an hour to get our food, despite the restaurant not being filled.
We re a Chinese family visiting Quebec. We wanted to take a break from French food and it was a surprise. Wong s did a good job giving us a taste of home. Friendly staff and great food!!!
Must eat. Super flavorful food. Gives you a break from French, Italian food
This is the worst restaurant we ever visited in Quebec City!, Service level is very bad, Waitress can raise his voice against customer and has no attitude at all, food quality is bad, oily and inconsistent, not worth the visit at all. Overall wont come here again!
Good food at a fair price
First visit I ask the maitre d about placing a take out order. He says, We dont offer take out. What kind of Chinese restaurant doesnt offer take out? Ok, fine. Thats their eccentricity. But the second night I show up and ask for a table for two. The restaurant is completely empty. The maitre d says, Were completely full. Bizarre.
Great Restaurant with delicious food! Service is friendly and attentive. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back. Lots of veggie and gluten free options if you like.
Slow service and lack of courtesy. The atmosphere in general.
Food is absolutely delicious and affordable. Staff is incredibly kind and pleasant.
We choose this restaurant by chance, my wife had a craving for chinese food and frankly this was the only restaurant that opened earlier than others in the neighbourhood... We even got there a bit early, by 15-20 min, on a heavily rainy day. The staff were so nice, they gave us a table right a way while they were preparing to open the restaurant. Bottom line is that the food is delicious, decor is nice & staff are amazingly nice and friendly, on top of that this restaurant is very popular with the locals, during our time at this place a lot of local people came to pick-up foods and this is a testament by itself as to the quality of the food serve at this restaurant....
Very nice discovery for us (even if the restaurant has existed for many moons) Finally a pleasant Chinese restaurant with contemporary decor and music Well lets move on to the food we tried the menu for two we are very far from Chinese food which tastes like soy sauce everything is delicious with a weakness for the egg rolls a real delight Staff and owner very friendly price Okay
I make a point of bringing all my out-of-town friends to Restaurant Wong. The delicious food, the outstanding service, the welcoming atmosphere: its all part of an awesome, authentic experience.
I ordered take-out two times when I visited Quebec city. Ma po tofu is one of best I had in Canada. The guy who works at night was very kind. I will visit here whenever I visit Quebec!!
Best Asian restaurant in Quebec! Having worked there for a few years, I was able to build a great friendship with the owners. People who work very hard to offer the highest quality and authenticity in their dishes. I really miss eating it every week and I suggest this family restaurant, which has been established for 60 years, to everyone!
Great value, great service and amazing food. Higly recomended
Overall good, good food!
very good and very good employee courteous and very friendly good service
We had lunch there on February 14, 2019. Excellent food, good service, great atmosphere.
Loved the place! Live music and service were amazing! We had the specialty menu and it was delicious.
Very cozy place and the food was very nice
Excellent! The food, the ambiance, the service WoW!
Very friendly and attentive service. Excellent dishes with a wide choice from the menu. Highly recommended!
Wow! What a pleasant surprise. Great and authentically fresh! Go, go, go peeps. P.s. pick the window seat.
Chinese dishes cooked differently. Very good but not great.
Avoid at any cost! This is not a Chinese restaurant, but a mix of whatever. The service is something else... utterly out of touch!
Taste western chinese
Food was amazing, as well as the service.
Good chinese restaurant
The main course was very good. The soup had a strong cinnamon taste, the egg roll was very good. Its not like other Chinese restaurants where everything is industrialized and it tastes practically the same. We realize that it is made in the restaurant with quality ingredients. I found the prices a little high but we are in old Quebec.....I didnt give it 4 stars given the prices and the taste of the soup.
The barbecued pork noodle soup (noodles) tastes okay, although the price is not cheap. It is rare to have Asian food.
Canadian Chinese food.
Great service! Great food!
Cozy & quiet that you might miss it when walking on the street. Very close to Chateau Frontenac. I was craving Chinese food so I decided to pop in and check-out this restaurant. I was greeted by a friendly waitress. I ordered Beef Ho Fun noodles. Huge portion so I wasnt able to finish it all. It was tasty!
Just so so. Food already changed. It is not traditional chinese food compared to Toronto
Worst chinese food i Ever ate. still cant tell what animal was in the ho fun beef. Edit : Im not working there and still bad quality beef.
Great food. Went with family as we were craving Chinese. Did not disappoint. Mapu Tofu was our favourite.
Very good restaurant! The staff is on point, especially the hostess in front who is very friendly!
Excellent food and very sexy waiter!
Came twice in 3 days so that tells you how good it is! Friendly staff, great food and large portions. The food was lovely, chicken fried rice & bbq pork fried rice was great with onion and bean sprouts as veg. Husband had General Taos chicken with boiled rice, it was so good he had it twice.
I love this restaurant! When my boyfriend wants to spoil me he even brings some home for me. The employees are super friendly, especially the waiter Etienne ! In addition to being so cute, he provides excellent service!
Very good restaurant. We are advised for the dishes. The food is really good, I recommend the desserts to everyone. In addition, a woman plays a typical instrument in the evenings.
Try the beef and broccoli
Food was very good. Place had nice ambiance. Service was mediocre. When we expressed our desire to sit near the window, Waitress points us to another table. The restaurant was practically empty at that time; and also didnt like the fact that waitress penned down on the bill to pay 15% tip. Overall, wouldnt visit again.
The food was ok, but the service was horrible. We waited 45 mins for our food although the restaurant was not full. The service was very slow and very disorganized. And the surprise came at the end- the waiter decided just to add 15% tip to our bill. We refused to pay it and didnt leave any tip because we were not impressed with the service. When he noticed we didnt leave any tip, he started asking very agressively why we didnt leave any tip. When we told him that the service was slow, he started yelling that we are in Quebec now ( whatever that means). Very unprofessional approach, all we did was not leaving the tip they forced upon us, this is absolutely not a way to treat your customers.
Great food and lovely music
Friendly staff. Best Vegan hot and spicy soup and Singapore noodles Ive ever had. And definitely the best vegan meal of my time in Canada to date.
You will not feel like you re in Old Quebec when you re in this place. The aesthetics, the decor and the guzheng will make you feel like you re in China! There s a lady playing the guzheng, also known as a Chinese zither, which is a Chinese plucked string instrument with a more than 2,500-year history, and she plays it so well. That my friend will give the right feels and will make the place seem even more vibrant! Kudos to that lady for playing us all some really good music. Our server was very helpful, a young man with a good knowledge about food and NFL. He suggested portions and combinations. We got egg rolls, chicken sweet and sour, chicken fried rice, chicken lowmein and vegetables with tofu. This fed four people but mind you, the portions are pretty big. My favorite out of these dishes was the chicken lowmein (yes, not chowmein but lowmein). It had a very nice texture and was flavorful. The vegetables with tofu was really good but it s on the spicy side. We were delighted with how quick the food came and we ate like we d never eaten before (we had a quick breakfast in the morning around 9am and were eating lunch/dinner at 5pm). We were hungry!!! It was definitely a good choice to walk into this eatery. The toilets are clean and the place looks beautiful. It was our first time here since we were traveling to Quebec from Toronto, but when we do travel back to Quebec again, I will be going here for the food! I recommend this place to everyone. :)
Excellent Chinese food. Everything was delicious. They also had live authentic music.
Excellent service, very friendly and friendly. Pleasant atmosphere with a musician playing the zither. Excellent food without being wow. I recommend.
I was happier with the soy sauce noodles (Ho Fun) than with the Shanghai noodles.
Well, I didnt eat anything in this restaurant. I just took this picture and I wanna show you all my picture
