Great experience, very nice atmosphere, not too noisy, attentive service and excellent cuisine! The cocktails are very good, I recommend the beef cheek, the sublime sauce No false notes, One of the best restaurants in Quebec!

Excellent restaurant, which has remained a sure value in Quebec over the years; a real treat every time. The wine and cocktail list is diverse, with great choices from Quebec. The service is careful. The place has a superb character, which has fortunately been preserved following the renovations. Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian options on the menu.

We had a great time. The welcome was warm, the dishes were successful and above all thanks to Lyvia for her excellent service! Looking forward to coming back soon :)

Wonderful waitress - explained everything perfectly! You must reserve, but giving your credit card to hold the reservation is annoying - my only complaint. Food was outstanding - highly recommended without any reservations at all! A bonus was having seats facing the open kitchen and watching the four chefs do their magic.

We had a reservation at 9:30 p.m. for 2. We were offered to take our coats and take our seats. We knew it was the end of the evening but hey, I had reserved so I expected the same service as at 6 or 8 p.m. The server was nice but nothing more. We felt the service was quite rushed for this type of establishment. When the main courses were served, I asked him for a glass of pinot noir. He tells me that he doesnt currently have any by the glass but that he has something else to offer me. He comes back with a bottle (his proposal was excellent) but doesnt even take the time to present the bottle, the wine, to me. I had to ask to know what the wine was, where it came from, and basic information. Pretty ordinary service. I will recommend the restaurant, for the delicious and super generous dishes. On the other hand, the service needs to be reviewed.

Always absolutely perfect. From the atmosphere to the service, tasty and very well thought-out cuisine. The mocktails are the best in town as a bonus!

Recently renovated, the restaurant is magnificent. The cooks are excellent and our waitress Sarah was able to give us the perfect recommendations for plates to share. Dietary restrictions: I was with a friend who has several dietary restrictions and there were options suitable for her and it was even possible to adapt some dishes for her.

Fantastic and artistic meal. Absinthe cocktail.had a well balanced flavor that didnt taste overly of black licorice. Bread with mushroom compound butter was delicious and I dont regularly enjoy mushrooms. Foie gras was good with gooseberry and mustard. Eggplant was incredible, between applewood smoke and chili oil it tasted like a campfire in autumn. Desert.espresso cocktail tasted like memories of skiing the Rockies. Delicious.

Bistro feel. Nice food. Stand out dish was the pasta with a creamy sauce, spicy with chorizo. It was delicious.

Good was excellent. The service was great as well. Our waitress was available whenever we needed something but, was never pushy and never hurried us along. The atmosphere was quaint but, it was uncomfortably warm in the restaurant. I would definitely recommend.

The food was original, delicious and well presented. We particularly enjoyed the tomato tart, the guinea fowl and the eggplant. Th restaurant was very busy and service, while friendly, was pretty slow. The room was really hot, on a hot night. Hence 4 rather than 5 stars.

This place was amazing! Our server was so attentive and lovely and they were able to make modifications to dishes I had so that they were gluten free and dairy free for me. It was very nice of her to speak French with us so that we could practice. The cod was fantastic; perfectly cooked and some of the best cod I ve ever had. Bar programme is also top notch. Mocktails were perfect, especially enjoyed the Mocky Ruby. Thanks to all the staff for making our dinner here extra special. Dietary restrictions: Made excellent modifications for my dishes to be gluten free and dairy free.

One of the best meals in my life

Truly excellent. We chanced on this gem while in the neighbourhood. The menu is simple, but diverse and so interesting. The food was excellent. The service even more so. For what we got- the ambience, service, and most of all the quality of the food, the prices were reasonable. Will be back again the next time were in Quebec.

Excellent evening at the Leaning Bell Tower. Not only did we enjoy the plate, probably our best restaurant of 2024, but Mélanie provided valuable advice. If you are passing through Quebec, this is the restaurant to try. Note, if you come to Canada, definitely make a stop to taste these dishes!

What I liked: - Very good and original cocktails - The raw products are of good quality - The room is really pleasant and warm - The dishes are visually beautiful - The crème brulée is very, very good. What I liked least: - The service is not up to par. I felt judged for not having a starter (I always have a main course/dessert) - I think the dishes are deliberately complicated for style and its too pompous for my taste. - In my opinion, the price is totally excessive. - There arent many on the plate. In fact, in my opinion if we get it for $50 per person (drink, main course and dessert), and the menu becomes understandable and sober. I think this restaurant would be very, very good.

Le Clocher Penché has created all the elements to ensure its success: a pleasant atmosphere and decor, a menu that stands out, and an excellent service team. Sitting at the bar on our first visit allowed us to observe the absolutely exceptional teamwork demonstrated by the entire staff. I must underline the efficiency of suiteers, without which such a refined finished product would be impossible. Among these, Kathleen F. deserves the gold medal! She knew how to keep her cool and her humor despite the imponderables that table service brings (and my many questions). THANKS!

We had a reservation for the 8:30 PM service. We got there on time. At 9:30PM, we still didnt have a plate in front of us. (Consider that 8:30 is late and you are hungry). We had to remind the waiter of our presence to get the bread that we had ordered. We finally got our first plats at 9:50pm. I had ordered the rack of pork and it was cold. The plate was good, but cold. We left past 11:15pm without any excuse or compensation. Totally innaceptable especially when you are on the 8:30 service and you had a reservation and you are being ask for your credit card in advance to charge you in a case of no show!

I came across this restaurant because of the amazing reviews and was luckily to get a reservation at the rouge salon area. The food is Michelin star quality and the service is wonderful and our server was so friendly and kind. We throughly enjoyed our meal and drinks and they also offered a limited kids menu for our toddler. We hope to come back again.

Such a great meal. The restaurant has two rooms, the original/main room or the red room (meant for larger parties or overflow if not booked). We are in the main room. Food and service were excellent! It was fun watching them cook in the kitchen as well.

Choosing between an uncomfortably warm room and a room with no ambiance was not a good start. The appetizers made up for it more than the mains. Scallops with morels, easily top dish. The sauce is the reason to order the terrific bread. Shell pasta with oyster mushrooms was closer to a decent if not typical red sauce with the mushrooms not adding much. Delicious food in a nice atmosphere. The service took a little while, but once the server came and helped us, he was excellent. The desserts we had the creme brûlée and the brownie were good but not at the same caliber as the food. The mushroom steak, fish of the day, and pasta dish were all excellent. Cocktails were also outstanding. Vegetarian options: There were no vegetarian appetizers other than bread and butter, but the two vegetarian mains were both outstanding.

A wonderful gem in the heart of Saint Roch. A little pricy but totally worth it, such an experience from beginning to end. The wait staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and welcoming and at the same time top notch professional. Small bites but everything was delicious and beautifully presented, including the cute little cocktails. I wish I had more photos but we were too excited to try everything as it was served (except for the buckwheat endive salad and desserts which were a little weaker than the seafood plates). After explaining that we were sharing, we appreciated having the dishes come out in an appropriate order and the thorough explanations provided with each. This should be the goal post for any restaurant serving small portions at these price levels, and indeed we enjoyed this better than anything in Toronto. Would love to return next time Im in Quebec City.

Its an upscale bistro. The waitress will explain all the dishes to you in detail so that you can make your choice but be careful, everything is very good but not very plentiful. So be careful, the bill can go up very quickly.

In my top 10 restaurants I have visited in my life! Attentive waiters, beautiful setting and tasteful decoration, excellent food. Its difficult to choose your dishes as the menu is so tempting. The cooking of the fish was just perfect. Lots of flavors and a very sought-after combination of foods. And not too salty or too sweet like in many restaurants. Way above many 1 Michelin star restaurants

This restaurant is exquisite. Each dish was fabulous and the service was top notch. Honestly one of the better meals my wife and I had in a while. Some stand out dishes . The crab, the endive salad, the blood pudding, and the cheese. Do yourself a favor and go here.

Delicious French fare in a relaxed and upscale vibe. There is no wrong choice. We started with the bread and mushroom butter and the scallops were perfect. Next, I had the pasta which was perfect -- and I dont even like red sauces! My husband had a fantastic Icelandic cod and we ended on the amazing creme brulé and macaron. Truly you cant go wrong here.

A warm and refined atmosphere, personalized service, smiling and attentive staff. The oysters are fresh and the beef tartare tasty. The cocktails are interesting and the staff will be able to give you good advice if its your first time. We were just confused that after paying, they brought our coats directly to the table. We hadnt finished our digestive so that brought a sense of rush because normally we go straight to the cloakroom to pick them up when leaving, but we still appreciated the attention. Recommended for fans of speak-easies such as Jjacques (Quebec) and Kabinet (Montreal)

Lovely dinner at Clocher Penché- atmosphere is lovely, quaint and modern bistro feel. Great oysters and lovely fish entrée. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was really fresh and tasty- only downside are the chairs of the low top tables are not very comfortable ! Otherwise, the experience was very positive.

Vegan Friendly Amazing meal! I have never eaten so well in Quebec! This bistro is worthy of a gourmet restaurant, the presentation of the dishes is very well crafted, the ingredients are top quality, it is delicious. Vegans are very welcome, maybe call ahead to let them know but there is always a vegetarian and very often vegan option on the menu. The boss is very friendly, the waitress is also friendly! I thank one of the chefs, Patrick, for putting so much heart into preparing a very high quality Vegan starter and main course for me even though there was a group of 25 people for dinner and the restaurant was full. Go there with your eyes closed! The price is really reasonable for the quality of the food.

Best meal I have had in ages. Everything was unique and beautifully plated. Portions were perfect, cocktails were well-balanced and the pacing of the meal was relaxing. I loved it all!

Service is perfect score, very friendly and accommodating. Food is delightful and full of flavour in every bite. And by the taste and presentation of the food you can tell the chef really care about what they do. I love watching the chef working at the open kitchen and it feels like I am on one of those shows on food network. What a wonderful experience! Our server, Livia went above and beyond. She was exceptional. Food was absolutely amazing. Suggestions for wine and food were on point, everything was cooked perfectly. We had dinner there. Loved the place. Just 4 or 5 appetizer, 4 5 mains, 3 dessert. The waiter will come to the table and explain the whole menu Interesting dishes, and very well executed. Butternut squash with duck ham and egg. Crispy bacon with shrimp and kale salad. Blood pudding, apple and potato. Atlantic cod with cauliflower, swiss chard and radicchio. Good cocktails. Reservations highly recommended.

Excellent food, lovely atmosphere, wait staff very helpful and friendly. They were happy to speak to us in English as our French is not very good and took time to explain what the dishes were. Food was well presented and just absolutely delicious!

Positive aspects: The attentive service at the restaurant was commendable, and the salmon appetizer, pate and oysters were enjoyable. Negative aspects: Unfortunately, the cod was uneventful, and the blood sausage entree was too dry for our taste, resulting in a disappointing experience overall.

You are entitled to a nice view of the kitchen where you can see these culinary artists at work. In terms of food, we tasted magnificent flavors all very well balanced. The salmon gravlax was to die for. For main meals we shared the duck and cassarece pasta. I have never eaten a meal as well balanced and well prepared as duck. All the bites were perfect. The pasta was tasty and creamy. The cocktails were very very daring. Honestly, when adding up, I was expecting a lot more for the experience we had. The price is 1000% valid. It s always a pleasure to eat in this place everything is perfect. The decor (this green on the walls) the open kitchen, seeing the cooks working in silence with passion. This evening for our taste buds butt bread... as usual succulent and which whets the appetite.. Salmon gravlax starter...the plate before being good is beautiful, it flirts with you in a subtle way with a lot of class. The blood sausage homemade, tasty the only regret is that we always want more. The dishes... evening fish, cod... it is cooked just right and the octopus that accompanies it knows how to highlight it... and the duck... phew perfect cooking, this duck breast is beautiful, it is passion red... The service is flexible and smiling and we recognize you, thats being professional...because we know its a restaurant that knows how to talk to you...feed you and make you come back again and again...you wont suddenly find sure the taste of the first time...

We read about this restaurant in a local review on up and coming places and it turned out to be the best meal during our three-week visit to Quebec. The PEI oysters were so fresh and delicious they put our previous samplings to shame. The scallops were large but tender and sweet, topped with daikon radish and a light sauce. The cod was tender and mild. The crême brulee lacked the dense texture I d prefer, but the flavor was amazing. The yeast rolls were sublime and the Greek wine just perfect. The service was friendly and accommodating. It was also our most expensive meal, but worth every penny!

My wife and I just had an incredible meal full of bursting flavors. I didnt catch our waitresses name, but the service was incredible. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the food. All done with a smile. We were assigned a corner table, which I had requested, so thank you for paying attention to the small details. We enjoyed every meal and will come back for new seasonal dishes when we return to Quebec City. Well done to the whole team at your restaurant.

I travel regularly and often eat in restaurants. Le Cloché offers a tasting experience that is out of the ordinary. Wonderful service from Livia who knows the wines and dishes very well.

It was the best meal we had in town, offered at a very reasonable price. It was our last night, otherwise, wed have gladly returned. The only downside was the extended wait time. We decided to forgo dessert since we had already spent 2 hours at the restaurant.

The service here is excellent and never have I ever felt the need to ask for something. They even offered to call us a taxi back to our hotel at the end of the night as they correctly assumed that we were from out of town! Since I needed to drive and my partner doesnt drink alchohol, we order two incredible mocktails that were a great complement to our meal. So here we are with the in-depth food review. Portion sizes were very good as they were large enough that we were able to order a starter, entre, and share a dessert at the end. Being from Rhode Island (AKA the Ocean State), I could not resist the temptation of the Fish of the day (Icelandic Cod). Very flavorful and surprisingly refreshing. Although I personally liked the Braised Short rib, my partner thought that it was a little bit under seasoned and could use some more sauce. The bread was also really fun to eat. 9/10 Parking: good luck, recommend garage if you car about your car, there seems to be quite the number of crackheads on the street here.
