We were there on October 26, we ate beef cheek and duck poutine....everything was hot and delicious, the service was fast and excellent. I recommend it without hesitation and it is certain that during our next vacation this restaurant will be a destination

We were well received when we returned, but we received our molds which were not good at all, each piece had very hard bits like sand or scales. We asked the waitress if this was normal and she started to be arrogant and not believe us! We offered to have another dish but were told to go elsewhere as she would deal with these real customers being very arrogant . Very disappointed and lack of kindness on the part of the staff and especially the waitress in question .

Great restaurant with competent and friendly staff. We ate there for our wedding anniversary and we were served a glass of sparkling wine. The meal was very good. Good wine list too. We will return there for sure.

The service was great, and the atmosphere too. The waiters and waitresses were very friendly and welcoming although they seemed extremely overwhelmed. It s a lovely, welcoming place and very well located. However, the food was not up to par. The mussels were bathed in relatively cold and tasteless water, served on a ceramic plate which did not maintain an adequate temperature for this type of dish. They were nevertheless fresh. The burger wasnt exceptional either: the bun was poorly cooked, with some parts undercooked and others overcooked. The meat was good, although served in small quantities, but the bacon was excellent. The fries, on the other hand, were rather lukewarm unfortunately. I would like to point out that the waiters and waitresses seemed understaffed and in a rush, probably because of a bicycle race taking place on the street of the restaurant, which led to a massive arrival of customers. I tell myself that the quality of the meal may have been affected by this exceptional situation. I will come back on a quieter day to see if the food is better prepared. If so, I will adapt my rating on Google accordingly. In the meantime I dont recommend the place, my experience was rather good despite everything I encourage you to go there to form your own opinion! The food was average, I ordered sides and pizza and put one of the sides in the pizza, they could have asked. I was going to leave tip in cash and the lady asked if I needed cash and gave the tip to her hand and she literally rolled her eyes, like be grateful. RUDE! Food

I got the duck confit poutine for my entrée and the sugar pie for dessert and it might just be the best meal Ive had all year. The wait staff is also very friendly and enthusiastic.

The service was excellent, servers were respectful, efficient, knowledgeable and kind. The food was delicious. We liked it so much the first night we went back a couple of nights later and had different dishes that were delicious.

I was asked for a percentage of tip by the waitress in front of everyone even though I had tipped it! I felt insulted and above all I had very bad service... unfortunately, I do not at all want to return to this restaurant even if my meal was delicious...

For the food to absolutely avoid pizza. Advice for Italian travelers. Their very good dishes. We got the Fishn chips and the really good poutine.

I had very good service from the owner in organizing a surprise for my parents for their wedding anniversary. Indeed, I wanted to pay them part of their bill without them knowing it beforehand and the owner really got involved in the surprise. He put together a little scenario and even offered champagne without me asking! It was a very nice touch on his part. My parents really enjoyed their evening and enjoyed everything about their dinner! Thank you very much for this magical moment!

Dont order the calamari, they brought just a little of crumbs. Beef burger was ok but chips wasn t. The wine was good. Service was good.

We went there for drinks and had to leave again. We sat at the bar and had great conversations with the bartender. We really enjoyed it and the bartender was very attentive. A big thank you to the bartender with the round glasses (unfortunately we dont know your name).

I read succulent in the comments and it was correct! There were 4 of us, on a Monday evening, very well served. The dishes were very tasty. Pleasant service. Not too many people so it was still quick, 20 minutes for the dishes. Instead, count on $50-65 per person for a drink, main course, dessert or coffee.

My family of 4 really enjoyed this restaurant (girls 14 and 11). We had the fish and chips, steak au poivre, Margherita pizza, and Freres burger, all served with fries and salad (except the pizza). We also had the calamari appetizer and really enjoyed that, as well. Excellent service, and delicious food! Highly recommend!

STAY AWAY if you want hot food with flavor .....The restaurant is clean. Good atmosphere. However if you want to spend 50$ on cold fries and cold flavorless stake this is the place to be . The only redeeming thought would be there salmon dish wich my partner had. It was moist and well plated with fair flavor altho again colder than we would have expected

We walked in to see if they had space for two as we were refused at 3 other restaurants. The Host Phillips welcomed us right in and made us feel like at home. We sat at the bar and were served by Phillipe the bartender during our dinner. The ambiance and food was great! Drinks were good. All around an awesome experience and would go back anytime. Stopped here for lunch on a rainy spring day. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and entertained my daughter as she practiced her HS French. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced.

The Waiter/Bartender went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. He translated the specials to English for us and gave us some great recommendations. I had the duck and it was amazing. Also the coffee cocktail was great!

We arrived around an hour and a half before closing time and were quickly seated by friendly staff. Perhaps we had an off experience with the food, but our steaks were just not good. The meat on this occasion was low quality and tough (for both the medium and medium rare orders). The fries were excellent, the service great, and it was well-priced. But, with so many options nearby, it didn t meet expectations. Maybe other menu items would have been better?

Its a shame because I would have liked to like this restaurant. I understand the long wait, we were during a Saturday evening rush. All my stars go to the service and atmosphere. Fortunately the waitress was A1 because in terms of quality/quantity/price we were disappointed. The pasta sauce was very watery and the tartare had no taste. We who never add salt/pepper, have seasoned our dishes. I have the impression that our dishes suffered from the rush..

In the early evening we stopped by for some small bites (we had a late and large lunch). Our group shared the escargot and the poutine au canard. They were okay. The highlight was the unique bavette of horse meat. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. I would recommend giving it a try.

Beautiful restaurant on the stone street. The atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon was very touristy, a lot of people in the streets, but very well laid out. The food was good, I found that the beef tartare lacked a little taste, but maybe thats a personal preference. I understand the purists who like to bring out the taste of the meat the fries were good, salad too. The service was excellent. The waitress was very attentive to the extra requests for our children without any worries. Definitely a restaurant to revisit.

Location, atmosphere and service was really good. The menu is pricey and unfortunately the food is not worth it. I don t know how it s possible but everything was very bland. We were 4 people and ordered different plates. French onion soup good cheese to broth ratio bland taste. Spaghetti bolognese was bland. The pepperoni pizza the sauce was bland and overloaded with cheese and the pepperoni tasted cheap. The shrimp fettuccini with wine sauce. The shrimp tasted like freezer burn and the sauce was bland. The only dish that was worth the price and was somewhat tasty was the salmon with veggies and pesto pasta. The pasta in all dishes tasted very cheap. Very disappointing experience for a 200$ meal no alcohol in that price.

Simply wow from start to finish! Pleasant and courteous service. But its all in the food, it was simply delicious for more than reasonable prices! The portions are good, and what about the flavors...wow! The atmosphere is pleasant, the decor is beautiful. Its a restaurant to discover in Old Quebec, far from being a tourist trap like many others!

Very disappointing experience. We ordered two italienne pizzas but we immediately realized that they had nothing Italian about them. As an Italian, I was even ashamed to take a photo of the pizza! Instead of mozzarella there was clearly some stringy; the tomato sauce, seasoned with oregano, seemed sweetened with sugar; sausage passed off as Italian but looked like a coarse frankfurter full of black pepper. Pizza heavy and tasteless (if not peppery). The worst surprise was the bill: $70 for two pizzas and two glasses of beer, to which was added a mandatory minimum tip of 15%. Over $80 when in Italy you eat at RE for the same price! Do not offer dishes passed off as Italian on the menu if you are not able to cook them properly. And I allow myself to say this because I have tasted other pizzas in other places (for example at the Il Teatro restaurant a few minutes away), where even though we were not in Italy the pizza was still good!

It was really a good experience. The service was great, they were fast and they quickly fixed the drink we had trouble with. The price for the food is pretty fair compaired to the other restaurant around. The other restaurant were pretty expensive compared to this. Would come back for sure if we lived closer.

Unfortunately, it s a tourist trap. We were extremely disappointed with our dinner. More than an hour of waiting for the dish, a mojito served in a can sold for $10 (even though the restaurant has a bar) without this being mentioned anywhere. As for the cuisine, its very passable: tiny quantity of pasta (with two small pieces of Italian sausage) for $28, lukewarm and dry meat with almost non-existent pepper sauce... in short, disastrous value for money. Finally, the service was just non-existent: we were seated near the kitchens, and they left us there for an hour, without helping us with water, without ever bringing us bread Absolutely avoid.

I went to eat with my parents on September 3 in the afternoon. The welcome was pleasant, the hostess super smiley and the food was excellent. On the other hand, our waiter (dont know the name, but older in the staff who worked, made us feel too much... I ask him what are your gins? He answers me stupid without going to see or find out! My parents do not consume alcohol and when taking an order, he laughed when we ordered, because we separated different plates of 3. I find his unpleasant, because working in the field never would have been accepted in my establishment This comment is not negative towards the establishment and the rest of the team which provided a good atmosphere. This was my first experience in your restaurant and it disappointed us a lot. I hope that my comment will be constructive. Good day

When you want a quiet environment and interesting food choices this is a good choice. We had enough burgers and pizza, this was better and not more expensive. Good alcohol selection . Liked it a lot. Could have had some chicken and seafood choices though. Nice music.

I recently dined here and regrettably had an extremely disappointing experience. Not only was the service slow, but it also felt intentionally delayed. What made matters worse was the rude response we received from the server when we inquired about the delay. The delay in serving our food was not only frustrating but also left us feeling unwelcome. Its disheartening to think that such behavior might be motivated by racial bias. Discrimination of any kind has no place in a restaurant or any establishment. I believe in giving every place a fair chance, but this experience left a bitter taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. I sincerely hope this restaurant takes this feedback seriously and works on improving their service and addressing any issues related to discrimination. I would strongly advise potential customers to consider their options carefully before choosing to dine here.

Nice area in heart of old Quebec, about food the French onion soup is good but the Napolitain pizza is almost horrible. Its extremely salty with anchovies. Couldnt even take one slice.

What you get is not what you order or what is written in the menu but if you want to change fries to salad everything is counted as extra additional. Ex: shallot flank steak without shallots but grilled with a slice of melted cheese on top! Avoid this restaurant if you dont want to be disappointed and eat well!

Although the service was very pleasant, I find it incredible to pay so much for spinach pasta (more expensive than a poutine, $21 from memory), when there was only a very small portion, bathing in 10L of oil, with only 3 poor leaves to represent the spinach. It s a bit of a theft, isn t it? If I wanted to eat pasta in oil I would have made it at home.

Super small portions. One burger was very rare. Pasta portions were less than 1/3 of the plate. Found a bone in the pasta with Duck. Half a rack of ribs was 4 bones. Not worth the money when there are so many other restaurants to visit. The staff were really nice though.

The ambiance is very good, got seated by the window which my wife appreciated. The pasta was delicious, the burger was ok, they don t do medium rear, all burgers are served well done. The crème brûlée was a must have.

The steak was very good and it was a waste of money. I spent more than twice that amount on it, but it was really just rice. Its a waste. Dont go gaga. however. Theyre very, very kind.

I enjoyed the beef cheek, followed by the pudding chômeur. I found the prices very reasonable, the atmosphere friendly and the service quite adequate. My guests were a little less happy with their steak (a little overcooked but the quality of the meat was there). I would return without hesitation.

Tourist mood post. Looking for a quiet, good and not too expensive place, we chose this restaurant. Well received, and served in 20 minutes (normal it has to cook), the bill is presented to us, I pay by visa, and I am taken back for the amount of the TIP, which I give an explanation follows on the obligation to tip . I am paid $10 an hour, I pay my taxes to the tip government at 15%, etc. Either, we are not too aware of how it works, and tip $17 to carry 3 plates and two pints seems excessive to us, however, faced with the desire of the waitress and her argument, I obliged myself to it Small correction for the attention of our fellow citizens or other French-speaking tourists The minimum salary is $11 since May 2022, the tax contribution on the tip is 8%, and above all the tip must be calculated on the basis of tax and not after taxes...
