Le Billig in Québec City

Not a nice experience overall. We waited over 40 mins for our second starter, and been overly salty, both in the fried food and the sauce. The duck confit crepes was also salty and oily. Our water glasses remained empty for over 20 mins before being refilled. The only tasty dish we had that day was the lemon curd.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was poor, and we waited 45 minutes just for the appetizers to arrive. When the food finally came, the taste was mediocre at best very plain and definitely not worth the long wait. I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone looking for good food or efficient service.

The Soup Du Jour with goat cheese was delicious. And the Suzette was amazing. Our waitress was super kind and so friendly telling us about the city. We loved our coffee and digestives as well

I live near here and this is probably my favourite place to go for a couple of ciders and a delicious, filling and traditional meal. Brunch is also excellent. Family friendly. I always bring visitors here. On top of that, they close off the bar part so you can watch the game with good beer and food without disturbing those wanting to dine in the restaurant. Its where I chose to watch the Superbowl and hockey playoffs. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are delicious. Theres a wide enough selection to satisfy everyone. Kid-friendliness: There are often families eating here.

Old building in old Quebec city. * Not handy cap accessable as there are multiple stairs up to a raised restaurant from the street. Wheelchair accessibility: No, 5 stairs up to front door. Wide area inside so if the wheel chair is lifted to the restaurant then the area for dinning should be fine. Weird murals over the kitchen pass through but overall a nice place to but quite busy. Staff, a lady with two braids & Doc Matin boots was great. Very attentive; had our coffee & food in under 20 minutes. I would strongly recommend this establishment.

Delicious crepes! Exactly what we were looking for.

Keep going back to the Billig whenever we are craving for a crepe. This time, it was even better, tastier. Added in November: return of cassoulet. New recipe and presentation, even better than before.

Overall great experience. We reserved a table a few days in advance, so we sign have to wait though the restaurant was very crowded when we got there. Crepes were delicious, both the savoury and the sweet ones. Personally, I really like the canard confit crepe.

Ive not been to the Brittany region of France but le Billing makes me want to take my next trip there. Creperie with delicious dishes where almost everything is made in house, even the cider which was also excellent. Staff was very knowledgeable. Id eat here again, without any doubt.

A lot of places in Quebec City seem to be understaffed, and this place is included. However, the waitress was efficient and friendly, bringing our bill as we asked for it since she noticed my partner was finishing my food. The food itself was a nice change of pace from our previous bad experiences from other places. The only food note I can say is that the benedictine sauce was a bit too salty, but other than that, the portions are generous.

During our trip to Quebec City we had lunch at this restaurant twice. They have the best crepe Ive ever had! The place is simple but cozy and the service is friendly. If you go on the weekends, making a reservation is definitely the best option.

Delicious crepes using buckwheat with a huge selection of sweet or savoury choices, we had tasted 2 savoury;shredded duck and the bacon , mushrooms and a wonderful sancerres wine. Also tried the salted caramel and chantilly cream for dessert and it was perfect!

Best Crepe Ive ever had, the staff (I think the owner) was very patient in helping me choose a style of Crepe that I liked. I dont eat Crepes too often, although this Crepe was absolutely full of flavors. Vegetarian options: There is a whole vegetarian menu section.

Had savoury crepes including eggs Benedict and la pouvetrine with wine and crème fresh. Incredibly good. Crepe fills your plate. Place is quaint even when we sat at the bar. Even has a fire place to make it cozy. Good idea to make a reservation. Will definitely go to this place for breakfast or lunch again.

Very nice Breton creperie in Quebec. On rue Saint Jean, but not near all the tourist shops. It is run by a Breton couple who have lived there since 2005. They were not there when we ate there. I have never seen a menu with so many different ciders. If you are a connoisseur, this is the place for you. Delicious pancakes and pancakes. There is even kouniaman on the menu. Very good value for money. We loved it. It is best to reserve.

A deserving 5-star establishment! The Crêpes are to create memories and crave for long after your vacation is over. We went for everything we could. For savories we had the duck confit, the prosciutto, and the black pudding sausage. For dessert we went with the orange / grand marnier, the hazelnut crème, and the lemon crème. Every one of them hit the spot. So did their special ciders. Don t miss stopping by here when in Quebec City!

Amazing crepes! We stumbled upon this place for lunch one day and were glad we did. The food was excellent, and the staff were lovely too. My partner enjoyed the boudin and there were a number of vegetarian options for me. We came back another evening for dessert crepes! The cappuccino was well-made too. Vegetarian options: A number of vegetarian options. I had one with ricotta, pesto, olives, etc. and it was delicious.

Excellent service and the food just wow! The crepe with duck confit and caramelized onion goat cheese is good in yeule as we say around here!

I recently visited this restaurant for a quick bite with high expectations, but my experience was extremely disappointing. Upon arriving at 11:00 AM, I made it clear that I speak very little French and asked if English was okay. I was assured that it was, but what followed made me feel otherwise. Despite placing my order promptly, I wasn t served until 11:48 AM nearly 50 minutes later. During this time, I noticed several other patrons, who spoke French, arriving after me, being seated, and receiving their orders similar items, like crepes well before I did. It was disheartening to see such blatant favoritism. Unfortunately, the service I received made me feel unwelcome and dismissed. I had hoped for a warm, inclusive dining experience, but that was not the case. I won t be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant to others who don t speak French fluently.

This was one of the worst dining experiences we ve ever had. The crepes were burnt and tasteless. It was a complete yuck.

The crepes were good! Unfortunately the experience was lacking. First our salad was forgotten. Then also our dessert crepe. We got the salad in a small bowl for free. Didn t look like the full salad intended with the meal. He apologized but then also forgot our dessert crepe; which is funny because he recommended it. He then gave us another free beer. We appreciated the freebies but unfortunately by then the experience was somewhat ruined. The server was quite busy and he did mention that there was only one cook tonight.

I have tasted the best crapes of my life at this place. They make their crapes with buckwheat which makes it so different than other crapes. So thin and crispy. They have so many different varieties of breakfast crapes. Highly recommend to come here and give it a try.

If there was half a star, I would choose that. The server asked us (2 kids and 2 adults) to sit at the bar as we did not have reservations. Surprisingly, the restaurant had enough empty seats for the entire time we were there (1.5 hr). Once at the bar, it was like they forgot about us. It took them 20 mins to take our order and more than an hour to get our food. The whole time the server didn t even bother to check on us or let us know about the delay on our food. No apologies for the massive delay either. Apparently we are not the only ones who had this experience. Wish we had read the reviews and not wasted our time here. The food wasn t bad, but totally not worth the wait.

The place was packed, which I personally dont really like, but it had such a nice nice vibe to it, and the combination of food, drinks, and service was very nice. Will definitely go again when in Quebec. Kid-friendliness: We went for a late dinner with 2 kids. Great service and good food options are available. It was a bit loud, so maybe not my first choice for visiting with babies and/or toddlers, but great for older kids.

I have had their crepes (get savoury ones, they are devine), but the most exciting thing is to go when theres a major sport on. They have TVs inside and get packed with fans in the colours of their teams. Theres also a few seats and (if not raining) a tv outside. If its a big game, the whole street will fill with excitement while people crowd around to try to watch from the street!

The food was decent although the eggs Benedict on mine had a very strong taste of vinegar which ruined the dish. Definitely not the best as some reviews might have you believe. But the service was atrocious. We visited during off peak hours, there were 4 waiters working but all were chatting in the kitchen rather than waiting tables. Expect to wait over an hour between sitting down and getting your food and expect to chase your waiters for anything you may need.

A real Breton creperie in the middle of Quebec! We loved our crepes, whether it was the Savoyarde (my son was nostalgic for the country ), the Béarn with duck confit, the black pudding or the salmon and spinach Bénédictine, with top-notch soft-boiled eggs! The pancake batter is delicious and the filling generous. We tasted 2 different ciders with a preference for the milder one. As for the dessert crepes, they are divine! The crepes were good, but the service was not. The only time we saw our waiter was when he took our order. After that, I d see him walking by but he never bothered to check on our table. However, the menu is large and there are a lot of appealing sweet and savoury crepe options. In my honest opinion, there are better crepe spots in the city with more attentive service.

Visited on a trip to Quebec City during which I had lots of great food experiences this one was terrible start to finish. The food was just OK - standard crepes you could get at any other decent restaurant in Quebec. Ambiance was sports bar. The worst part service was absolutely atrocious. Our server was completely inattentive. At the start of our meal we ordered two savory crepes and one sweet crepe. We finished our savory crepes, and ten minutes later, our server appeared and asked if we wanted our sweet crepe. We then waited for 30 minutes for a CREPE (literally an ultra thin, fast, street food) which was not ready. Our server said well there s a large table so we are backed up in the kitchen. The large table was sat after we ordered, and if she expected there to be such a wait, she should have had the decency to tell us. When we had waited another 10 min, I asked another server about our food since it had been 40 min waiting at that point. She rudely said I m not your server but I guess I can check for you. Yes, please do your job, thanks. Unfortunately, I tipped our server before finally getting the sweet crepe 50 minutes after finishing the first crepe. If I could give service 0 stars, I would.

It was my first time having a crepe for a meal and it was quite delicious. However, the crepe I ordered for dessert was even more delicious... There was an incident where the staff caught my order wrong and the crepes I ordered came out wrong, but they gave me iced tea as a service.

We were very pleased. One pancake is enough to eat well. It s better to share the dessert, otherwise there will be too much. Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian pancakes, although they have cheese and, obviously, eggs. We absolutely loved the crepes here! We were on vacation in Quebec City for a few days and actually came here a few times to try some of their different crepes. I would definitely recommend trying some savoury ones like their fig crepe or their la noisette sweet one where the ice cream on the side is made from scratch!

Was so amazing - the crepes were absolutely delicious - we did two savoury then a poached pear with chocolate and the lemon gelato with vodka! It was a perfect limoncello. Lots of things done in house - wonderful service. Let us bring the dog inside!!

By far the best creperie in Quebec if not in Quebec (in any case, there is nothing comparable in Montreal)! Delicious and generous crepes, faithful to Breton crepes. Our server explained to us that everything is homemade (except the apples) and all the products purchased are local or Quebec products. The quality of their products is just wow! The service was also excellent. Warning: take the trouble to book, because we were told that they regularly refuse up to a hundred people on Sundays. In photos: 4 crepes, the classic ham and cheese, the tatin (very naughty, we literally wiped the plate with caramel coulis with slices of bread!), the béarn (wow!), the choco-banana. All accompanied by a glass of cider to honor Brittany :)

My wife and I are visiting Quebec city for the first time, found this place due to the raving reviews, however maybe local are treated are better or we got unlucky. My wife and I chose to seat outside, staff informed us that typically outside serving is just for drinks, but If we arent informed how would we know? Finally he took our order, no suggestions given, and scoff sound upon us ordering our lattes, lastly forcing to tip. Dont care how exceptional the food was the service left me not interested to come back.

The crêpes are amazing. We ordered 4. The sweet were what you would expect, but the savory really shined in my memory. In particular, the Galette Saucisse specialty with the home made sausage was exquisite. The mustard cream was milder than expected. Both combined so well with the spinach and potatoes. The Figues crêpe was also a well balanced combination of flavors.

We had already eaten, so we only stopped by for a dessert crêpe. We got the lemon curd one, and it was super good. If you dont like loud environments, I wouldnt recommend going during a sports match because it was very much a sports bar, which I didnt entirely realize when we went. But outside of that and the fact that there wasnt much for us picky drinkers to drink, this place was great. I would have liked a sweet cider option, but it isnt common in this area, so I cant really dock this place for not having one...

Im always down for a good crepe and, in terms of food, this restaurant was a great find because the menu features crepes with many different flavour combinations that go beyond a simple ham and cheese crepe. My dad ordered a La Béarn (crepe with duck confit, goat cheese, onion confit, and spinach), my brother ordered a Saumon fumé et épinards (Eggs Benedict on a crepe with smoked salmon and spinach), and I ordered a Galette Saucisse (crepe with homemade sausage, cabbage, mustard cream, cheese, wilted onions, and spinach). All three were absolutely delicious, surprisingly filling, and reasonably priced. Our waitress was very friendly and polite as well. The only thing that was not enjoyable was how hot being inside the restaurant was and it made me wonder if the air conditioning system was down or non-existent.

the worst service ever from the bald server who looks like caillou. took forever to bring us the menu, and then never returned to take our orders. did not bring us water. we spent 45 minutes waiting, dehydrated and hungry. ended up leaving for another brunch spot nearby. on our way out of le bilig, caillou looks at us like hes never seen us before. sir, you seated us half an hour ago, did you forget?! waste of time.

This place was incredible! It was our first day exploring Quebec City and I googled gluten free crepes and this place came up. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the crepes were some of the best we d ever had (we had the lemon curd and the apple and caramel with whipped cream). I would definitely go back and will be recommending to friends and family visiting Quebec City. Dietary restrictions: Easy for gluten free! You just substitute the desert crepe make with wheat flour, with the savoury crepe made with buckwheat.

The crepes are incredible, I had the Cannes and Romains service even more so, we felt welcomed by a member of the family, thank you again for such attentive service

A real creperie! Everything was delicious, the portions were generous and the service was friendly and professional! We will definitely come back to try other dishes on the menu. The quality/price ratio is also good. If you are looking for a good crepe in Quebec (sweet or savory), the Billig is an excellent choice :)

Very Friendly and welcoming staffs, we ordered two dishes and we were planning to share. We ordered one savoury crepe and sweet crepe, and the server was very thoughtful by serving the savoury first and divided the portion. Then served us the sweet crepe. Very happy my first breakfast in Quebec City.

The server who looked like the owner was very friendly and the crepes were delicious! My friend and I speak a little French, but at first they served us in English, and then when we said we were speaking French and that we were going to practice while traveling here, they very kindly served us in French. He spoke slowly and clearly and gave us words that we could use while traveling. He even taught me French! I ordered La tatin and Egg Benedict and the portion size was decent and delicious! Great place for brunch

Probably my favorite restaurant in Quebec. Delicious, Delicate, and really inexpensive.

We had quite a few crepes during our trip and these were the best ones by a long shot. Looks like a regular pub from the outside but dont skip out. Lots of homemade ingredients being used, and our server was so friendly and passionate about the food. Will definitely be coming back!

Ordered a scallop dish only to have it served half cooked to raw. Waitress described it as cooked as they normally are, have thrown up with a fever since.

Best place in Quebec for crepes. We ve been multiple times and will continue to return. They accommodate and will cut the crepes in half for you to share. Highly recommend the La Savoyande for savoury and the banana, chocolate and cream for sweet. Latte was also delicious!

We had La Béarn and La Lutèce crepes then one customised crepe and the Banana, chocolae and whipped cream for desert. All crepes we had was delicious and tasty. The service was very nice. Definitely a place we would recommend especially if youre looking for good crepes.

We just love this place. I like savory crepes and he likes butter and sugar. He eats a burger at Chez Victor up the street and has dessert here. I have my dinner here. We first went in Dec 2022 and came back the next night. Tonight we brought our daughter here since she traveled to QC with us this time. She had a savory crepe made with buckwheat (because shes gluten free) and she loved it and didnt get glutened. Win all around. Atmosphere is terrific too!

This resto is one of the top reasons I keep returning to QCity. Although the savoury crepes on their menu are good, I much prefer their seasonal dinner specials. I highly recommend trying their French Onion Soup and saucisse puree, if they have it on the menu. And, La Tatin for dessert. Wild mushroom risotto also appears in my picture. I recommend making reservations.

Excellent savory crepes! We had the Ham and Cheese and Savoyarde and it was a real treat. The cider was also very nice, as well as the service. Great place.

Excellent cuisine, very inspired by French cuisine. I recommend the duck Bénédicte pancake, attached in the photo. Its certainly the best meal Ive had since I arrived in Quebec. You can go there with your eyes closed.

This place is creperie + cidrerie. The vibe is pub like. The crepes are the absolute best in QC. We tried a lot of places and this one has authentic, delicious, thin crepes. If we had found this place sooner we would have gone multiple times during our trip. It was that good!
