1014 Rue Saint-Jean, Québec, QC G1R 1R6, Canada
Today I dined at this charming restaurant and tried their French onion soup and beef liver with vegetables. The French onion soup was a standout—rich, savory, and topped with a perfectly melted layer of cheese, providing a comforting, flavorful start to the meal. The beef liver was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, complemented well by a fresh medley of vegetables that added a nice balance of texture and taste. Overall, a satisfying experience with delicious, well-executed dishes, loved that!
We visied twice for lunch and breakfast. it was good BBQ. However it wasn't as much as what i expected. The pork wasn't that good quality. but sauce was great. You should try it. it depends of what you order. The staff are friendly and funny. All service are great
We visited this restaurant on our recent trip to Quebec City. It was the first evening of our trip, and we were really looking forward to our first meal in Quebec. However, it turned out to be a very rude welcome to a very beautiful city. We ordered the Seafood Linguine and Cod Fish and Chips. The food was really delicious, but the portion sizes, especially for the fish and chips, were very low, considering the price. It turned out to be an overpriced meal that wasn't filling enough. The real shocker came at the end. The waiter who took our order brought us our bill, and he was just peering down at what I was entering as a tip. When he saw that I switched to a 10% tip, instead of the default setting of 15%, he just rudely turned away with the credit card machine as soon as the payment was done. It was a very rude gesture intentionally made to show that he wasn't happy with the tip. I wouldn't have bothered to switch the tip percentage to 10% had I been that happy with the service. I don't remember the name of the waiter, but it was the night of 31 August 2024.
Fantastic restaurant with a great breakfast/brunch menu. I got the eggs Benedict with lox and she got the vegan sandwich. The food was incredible. The potato's were nice and crispy and the hollandaise sauce on the eggs was so flavorful. The waiter even brought us fruit smoothies to try for free. The coffee was great and the restaurant was clean and well decorated. The bathroom facilities were state of the art with a really cool sink/hand dryer combo. This place was incredible!
I loved my experience here! As a vegan this was completely satisfying my desire for a filling sweet and savoury meal. I ordered the vegan breakfast sandwich. Great value, taste and service. Our server was very attentive and kind! Even the music was lovely and the bathrooms very clean.
food: really delicious and excellent dinner. I really enjoyed the desserts. the main dishes were also really good, especially the falafels, steak, and seafood soup (I forgot what it's called, but it's really creamy with a crispy bread on it) service: very friendly, attentive, and helpful. better than other restaurants we've had while visiting Quebec city. atmosphere: really nice, modern area. brightly lit and pretty roomy.
We had brunch here on a Sunday morning around 10 and were sat right away at a great outdoor patio seat. So Many choices for breakfast and brunch. Everything we had was so good! We enjoyed the place so much we came back for supper. Supper was good also but go for brunch! I had the liver for supper and really enjoyed it. Prices are very reasonable for Quebec City
We enjoyed this restaurant thoroughly on our visit to Quebec City. So much so we visited more than once! For breakfast recommend the seafood eggs Benedict, it’s served on a seafood cake! Hot chocolate was delicious and came with a sugar salt rim, an interesting combo For lunch we enjoyed the seafood pot et pot, similar to a seafood pot pie for Americans, and the Philly cheese sandwich. Service was friendly and attentive.
Great place, attentive personnel and delicious food. Strongly recommended
The pork chop with sweet potato puree that I enjoyed. It was tender and cooked to perfection. The service was also perfect.
Loved this place, the food was amazing. The yogurt with granola and fruit, the latte, the amaro cocktails, the bacon, and even the smell of duck confit drifting through the establishment. Will comeback whenever I am in Quebec City. The service was so friendly, phenomenal place
The food is very good! Yumm. I ate alone at the bar and it was very nice :) yay!
We are never disappointed when we come to eat at this place. We have seats quickly, our order is taken quickly and our dishes arrive quickly. There are menus for all tastes, small or large appetites, we have the choice. Well located on a commercial street to visit Old Quebec after our meal. Parking: The Youville underground parking lot is directly near the commercial streets, $15 for 12 hours, this allows us to visit Old Quebec without stress.
Awesome breakfast spot, delicious food and great service! You won t be disappointed!
Great evening! Our server, Sollyvan*, was spot on! We ate two steaks, the cooking was perfect, absolutely nothing negative to say! We loved our evening.
The best food we ever had while visiting Quebec since the food was better than expected especially the black pudding. The maple pouding chomeur (bacon bread pudding) was a delicious way to end the meal and also worth getting again. Overall, the restaurant is so good to the point that is worth going again.
Excellent service, a beautiful atmosphere and a great menu
I consider this to be my favorite restaurant in Québec. Service and interior design are very nice. More importantly the food came out quickly and was of excellent quality. I highly recommend the côte de porc and the pouding chômeur. Le boudin noir was also great.
Popped by for a bite to eat and everything was lovely. Friendly service, tasty food, great atmosphere.
Excellent restaurant. The staff is nice, the food is good and the places are nice and clean. I even got a second free drink because my server found my first drink poorly brewed. Two drinks for the price of one!
Excellent food, fresh and quality ingredients. I would definitely eat here again.
Very good except a little expensive
Large portions, very nice staff, great food!
Food was pretty weak for the cost. Everything arrived cold from coffee to food. I ordered the healthy breakfast and it was 20 dollars for 1 poached egg on an English muffin, a small amount of cottage cheese and a meager amount of fruit. Some of the dishes our group ordered were tasty (the country duo wasnt bad), but everything was cold and in general we were pretty underwhelmed. Its a huge place, though, so if you need to get into somewhere with a hearty breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday morning, youll likely be able to get in pretty quickly.
A very interesting restaurant. Surprising dishes. A black pudding treat. Well done
Perfect atmosphere and menu for parents and children. Super fast service at Sunday breakfast Kid-friendliness: Childrens menu Space for stroller Bench Drawings
The service was perfect. The dishes were good.
Great experience at Cochon dingue. We all were satisfied with our dish. Everything was tasty and good looking. The menu has a couple of interesting and local items. Service was fast and the staff was very friendly. The dining room is cosy. Prices seemed fair for the quality. I would happily visiti again!
Definitely not the experience youd expect from the Cochon Dingue in other locations (e.g. Lebourgneuf). Rushed service until it was time to get the check, then we had to wait and ask several times). Food was ok, but not the excellent breakfast I had in memory.
Atmosphere of a large chain or cafeteria. Light not dimmed and the food is ok nothing more. The price of wine is high.
Discovery dinner along the way. Only good
Good food and pleasant service. Many vegetarian options
Fun little place for breakfast. Food was average.
Always a pleasure to go to this restaurant.
We went to brunch as a family last Saturday. We have always loved Le Cochon Dingue but this time, the experience was not very pleasant. A very different experience from their restaurant in Petit Champlain for example. The coffee tasted like water, we were served fermented fruit, the presentation of the plates was garoche and our dishes were cold. Otherwise, in terms of ambiance, the lighting is similar to that found at Costco. In short, very expensive for a fairly ordinary experience.
I went for lunch. Maple pork ribs and fish and chips were also delicious.
Decent brunch but nothing more. Dry and hard waffle. Doesnt seem like a day to me. The self-server compliments the dishes. We are disappointed.
This lunchtime, I ordered a tomato and basil soup and a Fish & Chips at your restaurant. The soup was good. The batter on the fish and the tartar sauce were very ordinary, the frozen fries like those from McDonalds, the coleslaw didnt taste like cabbage, more like cardboard. $30.90 before taxes and service for so little is shocking. So lets eat at home, its much better and much cheaper.
Great for breakfast! The staff is scrambling to find space for everyone, remember to book!
Excellent service during peak hours
Good service. In my lunch the toast under my omelette was completely burnt but they very kindly changed it for me. There were a lot of people there so it slowed down the service and I had time to finish my plate before receiving the change of my dish. On the other hand, they were all absolutely delicious and the servers were very nice. I recommend this place
I used to take my family there for the best ribs came today with work and we were disappointed specially the ribs (cold .. microwave, not even tender) very disappointing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to David for his kindness, his sense of humor, his patience and also the service! Ah yes, a huge thank you for the happy birthday song performed so well!
Chicken was dry, not really fresh. Fries greasy. Coleslaw old. Food : 2/5
Wheelchair accessibility: Acceptable Food
Too good, too good!
It was a bit of a stroll to get here from where we were staying and it was definitely worth the walk back....all uphill! There was a wide selection for breakfast and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. We treated ourselves to a pear simosa which was lovely. Others will not be disappointed at all!
Lovely Breakfast here plenty of choice and good prices in this beautiful city
Wonderful Breakfast and very good customer service. Must try if you are in quebec city. They are pretty busy so its better to go early morning.
We also say BOF BOF for the food. We went for supper. The duck wings starter is very good. However the Philly style brisket sandwich was pretty average, meat without color, the coleslaw smelled bad and tasted not good at all. The pork poutine was floating in the gravy-style sauce, which was a little too liquid. Personal opinion. I think lunches are much more successful. I note that our server Sulivann I believe was very attentive and very kind. He offered us a dessert to make up for the inconvenience with a crème brûlée, which was very good.
We came here from China and saw online that this French restaurant is very good. It s really delicious. The service guy here has a very good attitude
Ask for Noémie! Its the best!
The ribs melted in my mouth. The staff were very friendly to me, a stranger. I was able to have a pleasant day Visitors to Quebec recommend a meal here.
delicious
Very nice restaurant on rue Saint Jean (another exists on rue Champlain but not tested). Varied dishes from Quebec, excellent service and decent wine! To recommend
There are other locations I preferred. This one is less relaxed.
The food was not bad, but I was waiting something more flavourful. The service was good (we spoke in English with the waiter). We got a table in a small room, so it was not super comfortable.
I had high expectations because it was a famous place... I think theres a lot of disappointment. Of course, its delicious, but that doesnt mean you have to come and eat it. Just come if you have free time. And the staff are very friendly.
Very good restaurant
I ordered the Philly-style cheesesteak, which came with a side of au jus and fries which I upgraded to poutine fries. The sandwich itself was decent, but the au jus was a huge letdown. It was a thick, overly peppery sauce with an odd sweetness that didn t pair well at all. If youre looking for something to dip your sandwich in, I d highly recommend going for a French onion soup. My girlfriend ordered it, and once I used her soup as the dip, the cheesesteak was so much better. Unfortunately, the poutine didn t impress either it lacked the richness and flavor youd expect, making the overall meal fall short of expectations. Despite the food, the service was excellent. Philippe, our waiter, was attentive and friendly, which made the experience more enjoyable. Sadly, the meal itself just wasn t a culinary highlight.
Very good discovery, friendly staff and good advice. However, the pork ribs were too salty for our taste. We were told it came from the marinade....
poutine is great
We ate an excellent pot au feu...with vegetables...what we had been looking for for several days. Very friendly waitress and good atmosphere in the room between servers. Hearty plates A good address in Quebec. We had a good evening.
Stopped in to have a light lunch on a Saturday late afternoon. Long wait to order - however, very pleasant serving staff. Ordered onion soup and had to send it back to the kitchen because it wasnt hot. The same soup was returned, and the temperature was the way it should be served hot. It was lukewarm at best. Unfortunately, mediocre tasting soup. Looking around at the plates served, this place seems to be mostly breakfast/brunch - plates of food do not look impressive. Im not sure I would return.
Pork not well cooked yet the dish was returned and they said it would be fixed. But the new dish is the same. The waitress doesnt even know if its normal or not. Really disappointed.
Good food, nice portions. Kids menu was great. Waiter was great.
10/10. Went here twice in 24 hours and one more 12 hours later. RIBS! PORK CHOP! SEAFOOD LINGUINE! ROYAL CAKE! SEAFOOD POT PIE! ONION SOUP! BENEDICTS! LOCAL WINE - MAGNIFICO!! SO GOOD!
Impeccable and friendly service, all the staff were welcoming and came regularly to check that everything was correct. With lunch, we offer you a delicious juice shooter and a choice of drink. My iced coffee was delicious and my partners hot chocolate had a sour sugar rim. A surprising but very good mixture! If your meal comes with bread, I highly recommend trying their apple butter, it is excellent!
A very good address in Quebec. It was strongly recommended to us, and we quickly understood why! Fast and responsive service, friendly and attentive staff often came to see us to ask if everything was okay, and delicious food, from cocktails to dessert and of course the main course! We had a great evening and didn t leave a crumb behind! I recommend
Disappointing. I had the salmon tartare as a starter and pork bourgeois burger as a main course. Tartar ok. Burger really lacked seasoning and taste. Fries tasted nothing. I wouldnt come back.
We had woken up late and was looking desperately for brunch spot before kicking off our exploration of Old Montreal streets. And there we find a crazy pig (Cochon Dingue) , the food here was so yummy and satiating, the service so respectful and accommodating, it was all in all a worthy place to have our brunch. We tried the Double Cream Brie Spinach and Mushrooms egg benedict along with Charlevoix Plate and Veggie Burger . Charlevoix Plate was a clear winner - had fruits, waffles, scrambled eggs and fries. Additional delight was complimentary cafe du lait with the breakfast, it was just the right thing we needed after a sumptuous brunch. Would love to visit this, whenever we have a trip to Quebec.
Ask for Alains section, he offers excellent service!
Have been here for 5 days...Tried different restaurants in the Old Quebec fort area...I would say this is the best one ..
This is a delicious rib. I visited because it was so famous, and it seemed to live up to the rumors. The sauce for the ribs wasnt anything special, but it was delicious, and the salad and potatoes were delicious, too, so you could eat them without getting bitten by the ribs.
It was great breakfast we have had and our Alain one of the great, professional with hospitality . I love this tasty breakfast,he offered me High quality and fresh. Alain is the best.
Great food.
BOF BOF! the perfect welcome, the perfect service, the superb decoration, but the food not at the level of the reviews already left, cold frozen fries, pork poutine, forgot that!!!! Fried chicken with their secret, well it has to remain a secret, theres nothing flashy and the lobster roll is the same served in any chain of restaurants In short, all that for that! It s good but not up to expectations, with a name like that!!!!!
He should give us a credit for parking.. $15.00 to go to their store for dinner is expensive..
Beautiful atmosphere and very good meal. Great service with Alain. Caribbean Salad and Hot Chicken.
The breakfast are good but one thing is that you will get your breakfast in 3 minutes from the time you order. That is the greatest.
Street terrace, nice atmosphere, smiling waiter and well-prepared dishes, good food.
Our whole baseball team went for dinner together (23 people). The service and food was wonderful. Everyone was served within minutes of each other. That is great feat with a large number of people. Seafood pot pie was delicious.
The ribs are tender! Kind staff.
Exquisite dishes totally recommended those barbecue ribs
Very disappointing and below average experience. We went with high hopes seeing all the reviews but our food was opposite. We ordered soup of the day, a chicken main course and onion soup. Both the soups were cold. Onion soup was mostly mush and had hardly any soup, it was also cold. The pollo dish had fries which tasted like they had been heated 3,4 times. Overall, a very disappointing experience for our last meal in Quebec City.
Best breakfast of our trip in Canada
Already tested 18 years ago during my last visit, taste-wise nothing has changed, still delicious!! Not to be missed if you come to Quebec!!
Great services, friendly staff and tasty food.
The best in quebec. The best service ever.
Had brunch here on a Sunday morning. The eggs were so tasty!
Very good service, the bistro-style cuisine is unsurprising but very good. Small problem with fruit flies which gravitated a little too intensely around our table, the only negative point.
Attention! I normally never write reviews but this has to be said! We had to pay a 15% tip even though we only wanted to give 10%! We were then asked where we were from and it was discussed that we should pay a 15% tip! We couldnt even leave without paying any tip! Absolutely disgraceful!!!
Good service, the lobster and shrimp roll is very good!
Very pleasant and enjoyable experience. We sat at the bar and had ribs, which were perfect, and a seafood pasta, which was a little light on the seafood but very flavourful.
Good but not extraordinary! Normal meals.
Our server Emelie was super sweet and helpful!
Delicious ribs, super friendly waitress and the dishes were served to us very quickly despite the crowd, we will be back!
Best breakfast restaurant in old city!
Great service. Tasty food, clean, cafe au lait included, very clean bathrooms, and finally, great value. We decided to return to a different location in Quebec City since our visit the day before was great. We sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere. On weekends, they serve breakfast until 2 pm and with the included Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cappuccino or cafe au lait it was a good value for the area. I would recommend to any of my friends.
Great atmosphere, amazing food and superb service.
Excellent especially our server, ask for Alain! What incredible service, warm and pleasant, surprising for such a touristy area. And the food, excellent. The breakfast sandwich is sublime! Thank you Alain
The service was fast, the waiter very friendly, the food very good and the decor very beautiful
Came here for breakfast. We ordered the salmon omelet and greek style eggs with feta. The food was good here, location is in the heart of Old Quebec.
Great selection. Food very good. Friendly attentive staff
Amazing food! Great service from friendly staff. Meal was ready very quickly. Possibly the best ribs I have ever had!
Excellent breakfast and free coffee...!
Friendly staff and decent food.
Nice food, friendly service, mushroom soup is the best!
Food is ok. Barely no service even when it is not busy hours. We were set in corner spot with too many flies flying around.
Delicious food, large portions, friendly
Had a very good meal here. They were happy to substitute a part of my dish for no extra charge. I didnt order the French onion soup, but others at my table did and said it was good. Vegetarian options: The veggie burger was nice.
Very good experience, quality food and fast and professional service, I recommend!
Very good little bacon poutine! Pleasant and attentive waitresses. Nice continuation!
Absolutely fantastic restaurant, even with kids. They were very attentive and very quick with the food after we ordered, exactly what we needed with our hungry kids. Apart from that, the food is amazing with great flavours and very well prepared. Amenities and the whole atmosphere are very nice. So all in all, a great place to go to, even with family. Kid-friendliness: Incredible! High chair, drawing books and a very affordable great kids menu with decent portions and healthy food.
Nice restaurant and very nice service. I had the poutine au cochon because I wanted to try Canadas favorite dish. Its not mine, but it was definitely well prepared and tasty.
Great fun and very good
Food was good, service different story. Not only did I feel ignored I almost felt hated. The host was nice, the waiter was not. It was busy, but I dont think thats a good excuse for being ignorant. I payed, left a 10% tip, and he immediately ignored me. A good waiter takes whatever tip he got in stride and says have a good night. Go to la buche instead.
oh i love this restaurant so much
I enjoyed the seafood linguine. Also pictured is the famous pot-en-pot and the duck wing drumettes (2 wings and pickles were eaten before the picture was taken). Food
Great lunch all were good
I fell to the ground while tasting my blood sausage, as well as the Miso salmon. Super comforting spaghetti bolognese! The london and shrimp eggs benedict served on crab cake is magical and intoxicating. Very tasty avocado toast too.
Service was excellent, and food was good for the price point. We had brunch, and they had gluten free substitutions available for most meals.
This is the only place around here had a lot of options for breakfast and some lighter breakfast fares and fresh fruits. Strawberries were white inside and some were not even sweet at all. I gave service 4 stars because the judgmental server sneered when I asked for cheddar cheese. We sat at the bar the next day just to avoid getting him as our server again.
The Quebec baby Rip was super tasty I have ever eaten I had dinner at terrace and local draft beer was very soft.
Super good crème brûlée
Trusting the positive reviews, we went to eat at this restaurant with several locations in Quebec. What a mistake. The kitchen is catastrophic. There were 7 of us with 7 different dishes, all failures. Either too much sugar (sauces) or too salty (pasta fries). Canteen food without any interest. However, I must note the very pleasant welcome and kindness of the teams on site who offered to treat us to a dessert and a coffee so as not to leave each other with this bad impression. However, we declined and therefore cannot judge the desserts. You will find better elsewhere.
For brunch. Very good whether it is sweet or savory. Good service
Great food and service
Food was tasty and different. Kids menu offers healthy options The food was good and different. The childrens menu offers balanced meal options Kid-friendliness: They give kids an activity booklet to enjoy while waiting for the food They give the children a small activity book to have fun
So fried chicken is really not good. More than negative experience. But apparently that doesnt bother many people in terms of restaurant services. Run away, dont go to this address, its a scam.
A little expensive overall, but good to very good overall. 4.2
Nice ambiance, good food, and great waiter. Obviously not a super veg friendly place given the name. Thought maybe the poutine would be good but gravy was lacking in taste and fries were too firm and it was room temp. Our toddler loved their soup!
Super fast very good service
Great food. Our waiter was very accommodating with my allergens and made sure I was able to have something for breakfast.
The vegan option veganwich. Tasty and filling. Comes with a coffee/ tea. Around 18$ Dietary restrictions: One fully vegan item on the breakfast menu
The cheese balls were ok. The sweet chutney was all over the plate and the cheese balls did not taste very well. The cauliflower pasta and the chicken were delicious. Chocolate cake was ok. Very friendly server and good atmosphere
We had a great time eating at this restaurant. The staff and waiting staff were patient and very well behaved. Food was of top quality and we have nothing to complain. As a tourist, we felt this restaurant and the waitress made us feel at ease.
Perfect! Fast service, excellent and plentiful food! It was a perfect lunch to kick off the day!
Morgane, our waitress, gave us an evening worthy of our expectations!! Big smile and very useful advice on dishes. I recommend Le Cochon dingue Saint-Jean!!
Fantastic restaurant with phenomenal, super friendly service! Food was wonderful and their patio atmosphere was great!
We were able to have lunch on the terrace. The dishes were very good. The decor inside is very nice.
Very good lunch menu, lots of choice. The coffee was excellent. Served in soup bowls. The service is very good and fast. They have very nice and clean mixed toilets.
Unfortunately, hes no longer the Crazy Pig from before. It was a must-see when I came to Quebec. Now its good, but nothing more. Damage. Kid-friendliness: Childrens menu.
Good flavor and great customer service
For a European, it s OK both in terms of price and quality they offer fairly light dishes and it s quite quiet
We just got refused lunch it was 1:37pm when they are supposed to serve it until 2pm
Everything was A+. Food was delicious & good portions. Service was impeccable & server was very attentive, & atmosphere was very welcoming. 2 s !
Solid French bistro style food in a pleasant atmosphere. Service quite good.
Worst fries ever!
The brunch at this restaurant is delicious, offering common French brunch dishes with their own unique twist, leaving a lasting impression. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and they offer unlimited coffee, making it easy to get full at a fair price. Additionally, the atmosphere is great, the staff is very friendly, and its centrally located on a well-known street, making it an ideal spot for tourists to start their day exploring Quebec.
Great place to get breakfast. They had many options to choose from. The food was well cooked and tasty. Our server was friendly, timely, and wholesome. They also had unlimited coffee which was a plus!
Nice staffs, delicious food and serene ambient vibe. Would consider coming back in the future. Kid-friendliness: My kids enjoyed this place.
A very good and typical French bistro with the specialty in porc product. They have several branch in the city
Delicious local breakfast / brunch options!
I would recommend the breakfast at cochon dingue : benedict eggs bacon and cheese. Although the cheese was not really melted with the eggs and the bread became soggy after I started eating, it was still good. The baked potatoes were excellent! The service was great and the wait was not very long. The price is reasonable for the food, but drinks are a little more expensive. Basic drinks like coffee and hot chocolate were free, which was really nice!
Had a great time, there, the staff is friendly, the food is delicious def. recommend it!
Fun atmosphere! Our waitress was friendly and kind! Service was truly fantastic!
We had take-out lunches and were very well served by all the staff. The food was also excellent. Thank you very much again.
You can find better taste in the area
Great place with local food, cosy atmosphere! We enjoyed with all the family!
Portion and price....its quite embarrassing. Too expensive for what its worth!
Excellent place to have brunch. Delicious dishes and attentive service. To recommend without hesitation.
Great setting, great food, standard price. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options. Parking: Theres plenty of parking garages around old quebec. None are too close though, so youll have to walk about the old city.
Lovely place, very spacious. I had one of the brunch options including egg, local cheese and maple syrup waffles with season fruit. Big portions and really tasty!
Very bad experience the last time we went there with friends. It took at least twenty minutes before the waiter came to us to order our coffees. So far, nothing dramatic. After several minutes we ordered our meals and when they arrived, there was a mistake with my plate. No problem I ask for the missing egg on the side, but I dont get the right cooking. It doesnt matter, it happens. Where it gets tricky is when paying our bills. The waiter accidentally had our bills paid at the table next to us. He suggested that one person from our table pay the bill for the neighboring table in order to be able to close their table and reimburse us for the difference (?). This doesnt work since we want to pay for our receipts individually. He then tells us that he has to check with his manager, but that it will take a long time. It took at least forty minutes. There was practically just our table left in the restaurant... When we asked for a follow-up, the waiter told us that it was not his fault and that he had offered a quick solution and that we refused... How do server errors become our responsibility? In short, I was a regular customer and that took away my desire to go back. Additionally, my friend sent two emails to management and no response, very ordinary.
I liked the food. But one of the waitresses is very racist. I also went to a different branch of Cochon Dingue near the port, and the staff there were super gentle. However, this branch, I would not recommend for travelers. I think this branch is somehow for the locals only :) Maybe thats why the waitress is racist...?????:) The taste is okay. But there is racism here. Haha, its unpleasant... This is a franchise, so there are restaurants like T in Old Quebec and near the port, so I recommend going there. This branch was a bit inconvenient because most of the staff did not speak English. That may be true, but I felt racial discrimination and it was very unpleasant. If you want to go, go to Old Quebec or another branch near the port!
clean and modern atmosphere is greatly appreciated! food is expensive just like all the restos so no surprise there. I enjoyed the food.
Great! Service and food was lovely, lots of choice and loads of space inside
Ymm yummy
Very good service nice atmosphere good food
Great breakfast, great service and quick.
A superb moment! The food was excellent, the service was perfect. We had a great time.
Food and service were excellent and the bowl of cafe au lait included in the price of the meal was a very pleasant surprise. The crepes stuffed with mushrooms and cheese were really good and the eggs benedict were fantastic. One of the better breakfast options in Old Quebec for value.
Had breakfast here all 3 days in Quebec. The food is delicious and the staff is fantastic. We got the oatmeal with pecans and apple, goat cheese omelette with vegetables with brown bread, hot chocolate (regular and old fashioned) and the country duo on staffs recommendation. Every dish was incredible. They made every effort to accommodate preferences like getting the cappuccino after food, or replacing potatoes with fruits. Highly recommend to everyone, especially vegetarians in the area.
So good. I had the CHARLEVOIX PLATE. It was filling and very flavorful. The service was nice as well!
Hands down, some of the best food I ve had on my vacation! They use the freshest ingredients and make sure each dish is done the right way. From appetizers to desserts, this restaurant exceeded all our expectations! Highly recommended! Superbe service de la part David, cuisine excellente et rapidité à couper le souffle ! Clients très satisfaits !!! He helps me and talks with me perfectly in English. Merci à léquipe Cochon Dingue Rue Saint-Jean
Very good egg benedict lunch with duck confit wow!!! Incredible service, thank you to the whole team!!!
We tried their brunch menu and the food was scrumptious. The food was fresh and cooked perfectly. The service was a little slow and we had to wait almost 10 mins before a server arrived. Its best to reserve a table in advance.
Was hesitant to eat here since I thought it would be meat-heavy. It wasn t. There were vegetarian options. Cauliflower pasta dish was cooked al dente and was creamy and delicious. Friends had the cod and chips. Portions were generous. Fish was flaky and non-greasy. The poutine apparently had squeaky curds. Restrooms are not sex defined. They are very clean and private.
Very nice ambiance and great food! Delicious cocktails and mocktails, as well as vegetarian options. Also extremely fast service. Vegetarian options: Excellent falafel bowl, they also have a veggie burger
Wonderful food and exceptional service by the staff.. really enjoyed our time
Loved this place
