Burgers gastronomiques avec garnitures et sauces spéciales, poutines et milkshakes dans une maison historique.
We were craving for Shake Shack’s milkshake, so we decided to try Chic Shack instead, and honestly, it did not disappoint! We loved it—the burgers were great too. We had always wondered why there was a line outside, and now we understand why! ❤️ definitely coming back for more milkshakes 🥹🥤
We stopped in craving some comfort good and got exactly that. I got a vegetarian burger with sweet potato soup and an espresso milkshake. We were under the impression from waitstaff when we asked if I could get the milkshake in place of the soda waitress agreed however then charged us extra. Husband enjoyed his beef patty and regular fries even though we had asked for sweet potato fries. Good food though
I wanted to really like this place, but combined with the wait to get in here and the mediocre food, it wasn't worth it. There are many better places to eat in Quebec City. The washroom didn't even have soap in it. It gets a bit of a better rating since the milkshake was really good, but the poutine wasn't the best I've had in Quebec City.
We ordered La Forestier poutine (vegetarian option) and vegan burger which comes with choice of side and drink. The poutine was amazing! Loaded with cheese and mushrooms. Also the burger was very good. Overall good food with excellent services. Although we don’t speak French, the boys tried their best to provide excellent services.
We were pleasantly surprised by the kindness of the staff, especially the waiters, who went out of their way to set up the exact table we wanted. The restaurant has a fantastic location with great views, which adds to the experience. We had the Classic Quebec Poutine, which was delicious! They also have a good selection of beers. Prices are moderate, considering the quality and service. Definitely a place we would return to.
A conflicted experience is the best way I can describe this place. We entered around lunch with basically NO other customers there. We were seated in a table right along the window opening which was nice. Our orders were taken fairly quickly and we received our sodas within 5 minutes. Unfortunately, the food took almost an HOUR to receive. I'm not even sure how that is possible. Additionally, our orders were not complicated at all. Considering there were basically no others customers in there other than us and one other table, the fact that it took an hour to receive our basic food is unacceptable. No apology was given, no refills to our drinks were offered. They seemed to have enough staff, so I'm not sure what the issue was. I see many other reviews mentioning the slow times as well, so clearly this is a consistent issue at this place. The food was good, sodas were excellent, and our orders were exactly correct, but based on the wait time this is not a place I would return to. If you visit when this place is busy... I fear it would take 2+ hours to get your food.
Stopped by for dinner tonight. There was no wait, so we got right in. Overall, I would say very good. Food: 4 out of 5. The burgers were good, but not great. I would go for a shake shack or 5 guys burger over these any day of the week...Sodas were interesting. It's not what I expected, but it's still good. We also had some shakes as well. They were pretty good. Service: 5 out of 5. Our waiter was very responsive and friendly. Atmosphere: 5 out of 5. Right in the heart of Old Quebec City. Looked nice and clean as well. Overall, I would definitely stop by again if in the area and graving a burger.
I recently dined at Le Chic Shack, located conveniently near Château Frontenac, and it was a delightful experience. The food was good, and the staff were incredibly friendly, making the visit enjoyable from the moment I walked in. The ambiance, while crowded, added to the lively atmosphere, making it a great spot for social dining. Given its popularity, there is usually a bit of a wait during peak hours, but it’s definitely worth it. One standout dish was the mushroom poutine with chicken. It was simply awesome. The diced potatoes, as opposed to traditional French fries, were a pleasant surprise and added a unique twist to the dish. Overall, Le Chic Shack offers a great dining experience with delicious food, friendly service, and a vibrant atmosphere. It’s definitely worth a visit!
I liked the place. Its quite expensive for burgers, but they are excellent and generous. Only big downside: they dont accept cash. I probably wont go back there again...
Bad food bad service just dont
Nice place to discover in Quebec.
Terrific food! Our server was awesome too, Pierre-Eric I think it was.
Really good poutine! La Braisee & La Fumèe are safe bets.
Excellent hamburger and mango rum cocktail, which I returned for on my second night after tasting poutine at Le Chic for the first time the night before.
Solid tasty burgers! Poutine was heavenly
Everything was really great especially the service from the staff, I was sat at a table immediately when i came in, and was served when I was ready, and then my drink came out within only a minute and then my food very quickly after that, the staff are very hospitable, i definitely recommend this place
Loved this place. A wonderful spot for a gourmet burger, poutines, milkshake, salad or homemade soda. Casual, great for families and in a beautiful location. The wait staff was amazing, kind and attentive. Fantastic!
The best poutines I ever tasted. The chips with maple syrup is amazing too!
The cafe does have high rating on google and i presume its because of their beef burgers. Because we tried chicken burgers and it tasted nothing extra ordinary rather toooo basic and the dressing tasted like bad smelling oil . We took grilled chicken burger and it tasted horrible. Barbeque chicken burger was decent tasting. Their highlight was only the colas specially chic cola and thats why the food rating is given 2 stars here. Definitly needs improvement with the cleanliness and chicken burger dish.
Chic burger and shack burger. I ordered Kimchi Bulgogi Poutine. Chic has a light and light taste, while shack has a heavy and heavy taste. I thought they would ask for less teriyaki sauce for the kimchi bulgogi poutine. Salt a lot at the end. If they want to continue selling Kimchi Bulgogi Butin, I think they need to serve it with white rice. I would visit again next time if they sell it with rice. The atmosphere was good.
When I went in, I had to turn away when the staff asked if it would be ok if it was hot, even though the only seat was by the window where the sun was shining. Meanwhile, the poutine is so delicious. Classic poutine may be greasy, but its not greasy and the cheese has a good texture. Two women ordered the large size, but it was a bit large.
Its a quick and comfortable meal in front of the hotel. ^^
The restaurant is very nice, the waiter was super friendly. The vegan poutine is very good, the truffle fries are killer! It s true that poutine is not made with fries but with pieces of potato, but it s still very good!
Perfect location in Old Quebec! We ordered a Poutine Forestière (vegetarian) and a Braised Poutine. Both were excellent! Very generous in filling and well seasoned. We also had a portion of signature fries which were delicious. The dark beer was great and the homemade blackcurrant and blueberry soda was also very good! Adorable and fast service in a very warm place, I recommend! Vegetarian options: Several choices of poutines, burgers, vegetarian salads! Dietary restrictions: Possibility of having vegan
I am not a poutine connoisseur but it dont seem like Im eating poutine. Their take on poutine is not true traditional poutine you would imagine when you think of it. More soupy but otherwise taste great. Service is quick and friendly. Come early as a line starts to form quick by lunch time.
Great place in Quebec I recommend
This place is great!Soooo busy thou,we had to wait to be seated in for about 40 minutes but it well worth the wait.We are vegetarians and the place did have vegetarian options. The veggie burger we tried there, was the best we have ever eaten dining out.Salad was delicious ,everything was just perfect. The staff was very accommodating and, thanks God,spoke some English.Recommend for sure!
Burgers were tasty. Poutine was good, made with potato chunks not fries. Not a bad thing just to let you know. Service was fast and friendly.
Went for breakfast on Sunday. It is a great location. Food was ok, the coffee was not great at all.
Very good restaurant. Quality food, very good, and pleasant waitress.
After trying poutine at a number of other places, we keep thinking back to the poutine done here. They got the balance between the key ingredients just right from both taste and texture perspectives. The cheese curds were soft and plentiful, the fries were cooked perfectly and had great crunch yet it absorbed the richness of the gravy, which brought everything together. Similar to the poutine, the salad had a well devised mix of grains and veg: some roasted, some raw for a complex bite in each spoonful. It paired incredibly well with all the warm dishes and negated much of the fattiness from fried stuff. Finally, it was difficult to go without a good burger, a beer and some of their own house-made sodas. Big kudos for the chef team for devising a menu that was interesting with its variety yet also stayed true on execution of the traditional recipes. Not to mention, great service from the staff. We highly recommend a visit here the next time you are in town.
Delicious mushroom poutine today - our small serve was plenty for lunch. Pilsner beer was worthy accompaniment- and at a great price. Our lovely waitress spared no effort in warmly welcoming us, promptly taking our orders and serving the food. We will be back!!
Excellent food! We had the wild mushroom poutine. It had roasted potato chunks instead of fries. Almost felt healthy? Drinks were very good too- several different beers, cider, and home.made sodas.
Very good burger! And being able to choose gluten-free bread is great!
Delicious, very reasonable price and very good service Vegetarian options: Poutine masala
Stopped for something quick and to warm up from the cool winds. Service was outstanding and food and beverage devine.
great food with great service! food portion is just right. i had the braised beef poutine and it was really good specially when you put there hot sauce it goes really well with it. the whole family enjoyed everything.
We recommend the sweet potato fries which are delicious, however the house sodas were way too sweet for our taste. The place is very well located and the atmosphere is very nice. We recommend without problem Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free bread available for +$4
Cool atmosphere, clearly very popular. Stood for almost 5 mins at the entrance where it asks you to stand, with no staff coming to the door. Classic poutines arrived fast for gone 1:30pm, but were luke warm at best and lacked...real flavour. Almost like it had no salt, and the curds were cool like theyd just come from the fridge and were put on top and got warmed by the barely warm gravy. It was just...fine really, yet the place is rated as having the best somehow. Pretty disappointed overall. Sodas are really good though, like lemonade mixed with fresh fruit pulp.
Loved it. Food was delicious and plentiful. Lots of vegetarian options. Staff were very friendly and obliging. We sat outside in the sun watching the world go by.Great value for money. Loved it.
Two burgers alone with a cold regular poutine for $75
Food
The burger tasted great, the poutine I cant compare but it was a really big portion IMO Great value for the price and fast friendly service. Try the blueberry limo!
This was my favorite restaurant in Uptown until they decided to no longer take cash. I dont go there anymore
La Brassee is disgusting. Cold cheese and day old taste. If you like being treated by rude French people its the place for you.
The staff seemed he didn t give a shit about customers , dropped meal and drinks on the table and went away. The food tasted like sadness.
Not a tourist trap, nice food fair prices, lovely staff. No cash, card only payment.
We fell in love with the parmesan fries and truffle oil!
Most delicious masala poutine, drinks are excellent
The environment is elegant, the location is very convenient, and the waiters are very friendly.
Unfortunately this place was severely underwhelming. Whoever comes here do yourselves a favour and do not order the bulgogi poutine, it tasted like alcohol and was drenched in this black tar sauce. The waiter was nice though.
Nice little restaurant, food was delicious and service was very good
I visited this restaurant because it was recommended by Guillaume Patry, a Quebecer who appeared on Abnormal Summit. I ordered two burgers, maple potato chips, and bulgogi kimchi poutine. The burger was delicious, bursting with meat juice, and the maple potato chips were sweet and the best. However, the bulgogi kimchi poutine was too salty. I should ask for less sauce on top or ask for it separately. Even though I visited during lunch time, I was able to sit down without waiting and the staff were friendly! It was all good in general, but Bulgogi Kimchi poutine was way too salty
Its tip
Staff was friendly, but service was very slow, we were there about two hours for lunch, lots of waiting to be seated, which was strange because there were many empty tables throughout the restaurant. Atmosphere was nice, restaurant was clean and had a beautiful view of the river and the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac hotel. My wife and I wanted to try poutine while in Quebec and saw good reviews for Le Chic Shack. But I just have to say it was not good. (we ordered the La Classique and LA BRAISE poutine) It could be that we simply dont like poutine and dont have a taste for it. But it could be that the chef has tried to be excessively different and just doesnt make simple and good tasting food. We threw it away because both of of us could not finish either poutine dish. They make me nauseous and I wanted to throw up. I was a little disappointed because everything I read about poutine made it sound amazing. Fries, sauce, meat and cheese; sounds very simple and delicious. It was NOT delicious. The strawberry shake was good though. 8/10 would recommend the shake, but could not recommend any of the food. I never want to try poutine again.
Poutine Forestiere Very good / Large portion
The vibe and staff are great but the food was not very impressive. The poutine isn t served on french fries and the burgers were a bit disappointing, but I liked their unique sodas
Too much waiting to get home. Average service.
A soup for poutine and we are told that it is normal. This will be our first and last time.
I had poutine with smoked meat, it was very delicious. I loved that it wasnt fries but potato pieces, it was very yummie. I had blueberry soda with it and the coke, although not a real one, was still very good. The service was also good, fast and very friendly service. I would be happy to come back again at any time. Greetings from Germany
Place to avoid if you want a real poutine and decent service while having a respectable quality-price ratio (2 poutines+1Burger+2Beers=$90+tips). We are served a braised poutine which is in fact a SOUP and the waitress tells us that this is the recipe and that it is normal. She did not warn us about this recipe and she never came to see us during the meal. However, the restaurant was not very busy on this Saturday evening. We had no discounts, no other meals to satisfy our hunger and no freebies. Being from the region and going to eat in Old Quebec often, this was our first and last visit on October 19, 2024. The location of this restaurant must honor our Quebec traditions and values for tourists, it s very embarrassing!
Burger much too small meat much overcooked not recommended for lovers of good meat
Poutine was really good
Burger very good despite its size (the smallest burger ever seen in a restaurant), fries good but not exceptional. Downside on the water served in disposable plastic glasses, and when we ask for more water, he gives us a plastic glass again, not nice for the environment
We ordered poutine, it was really good.
Its fine.
lack of taste and almost no chicken in the chicken burger disappointing!!
In summary, I do recommend a visit but do take note of the poor experience we had with our waiter and how pricey it is. Considering how busy and hot the city was the restaurant is very efficiently run. We were seated within 5 mins but it did take 30 to 40 mins for the food to arrive. Only issue encountered was when ordering. We ordered two combos including fries but immediately, literally in the same sentence, queried what the soup of the day was - the waiters mask slipped and he completely dismissed our question by saying its too late, already sent through your order and walked away. Dreadful attitude which he put to oneside when expecting his tip later on. The food itself was ok, its not particularly worth the price charged but you are in a tourist hot-spot. Their homemade sodas are very good though, enjoyed the lemonade.
Staff is friendly and very helpful however the burger are not as good as you would expect, dry meat and small portions. You probably better get poutine as the fries were good.
This restaurant was supposed to have the best poutine in the city so gave it a try. Good points - street view was nice from our seats, waiters were friendly and food came quickly. The $5 soup special, sweet potato was delicious. Unfortunately, the reason we came, the $21 Smoked meat poutine was ok. You could tell they put the potatoes, gravy and curds on ahead of time as the gravy was already congealing, then extras were piled on as needed. Was not bad just lukewarm and mushy. No attention to detail. Not special, not unique, not even hot, went for the poutine, disappointed.
Great burger choice and all freshly cooked with some great meat. Loads of flavours to the meals and the poutine was amazing. Love the unique sodas they have and nice to be different on this front. Lovely view of chateau frontinaque as well.
I expected to have delicious burger since it is burger place, but it was less than normal.
Great chicken burger, mango soda.
Great burger restaurant in old Quebec. My friends all had a burger and they tasted really good. I had the classic poutine and wow it was good!!! Its not fries but roasted potato wedges and it was excellent. I recommend!
When I told them i was allergic to dairy, the waitress told me, for next time, we don t cater people with allergy. How rude and condescending. The food was good though.
Great location can sit outside with views of the chateau but the prices arent bad considering that! The drinks were sooooo good and so cheap! Lemonade was great and a raspberry daiquiri for 10CAD was a steal! Portions are very generous too! Would recommend as I was a solo traveller not wanting an expensive option! Food came out very fast too.
I ordered a vegan poutine and normal poutine and were disappointed by both and wasn t able to finish either as I felt I was going to vomit.
There was blatant racism towards Asians through slow service with bad attitude. Food was mediocre.
The poutine is served with cubed potatoes that makes it very weird honestly, and also was too juicy. When I was halfway to finish it was practically a soup. My girlfriend had de Chic Burger and I had the Poutine. The main reason of the rating provided is because 20 minutes after leaving the restaurant, my girlfriend and I started to have stomachache and 10 minutes later we had one of the worst diarreah that weve ever had.
Very good burgers, excellent sweet potato fries and original homemade lemonades.
Several visits made, always excellent and affordable!
Food was awesome. Had la masala poutine with chicken, le jardin burger. Really loved it and are a must try. Also tried la chic poulette burger, maple and pepper chips- they were ok. Vegetarian options: La masala poutine Le jardin burger La vegane poutine
I had a bulgogi poutine and it wasnt good, the ground pork you cant recognize the taste, it looks like youre eating labrador
Waited 40 minutes for our food almost missed our tour. Had to leave as food did not arrive Only part of Quebec we didnt like.
The atmosphere is pleasant and the service was efficient despite the crowds in the restaurant. The kimchi poutine was tasty, with an oriental touch that brought a different flavor. However, the bison burger lacked flavor and was disappointing.
Had a quick trip to Quebec today with my husband and baby, we dine at Le Chic Shack. The place is very convenient. But I find that the portion is smaller, especially the drinks. Also it would be great if the burgers are still warm. The sides are hot but the burgers arent warm. But overall, the food taste great.
Nice little spot in a great location facing the Chateau Frontenac. Nice burgers with small chopped onions in them and large unique salads. Great to sit by a window and people watch.
Bit pricy for what it is
A good original poutine, pleasant and fast service and a good beer... what more could you ask for. We enjoyed it. We each took the small one which was enough to stay alert for the rest of the afternoon.
Its OK, but we had a guest from Europe who wanted to try her first poutine. The waitress was even kind enough to let him taste a few pieces of cheese curds first. Maybe in the Quebec City region, poutines are made with 1 pcs x 1 pcs pieces of potatoes, but I would have liked the waitress to tell us, because its not clear in the menu... Im from Montreal, and this is the second time Ive eaten poutine with chopped potatoes. But the poutine was OK, nothing more.
Our experience here was just awful. Our server served 2 tables that came in after us first. The soda I wanted was not available. The tables who had come in after us had actually finished their meals before ours even arrived. My soup was bland and my husband s fries were so overdone they were brown. We asked for Mayonnaise and never received it. We were never asked if we wanted more drinks. Several tables around us also had issues - it was absolute chaos and the food was very disappointing. I wouldn t recommend it here.
Great place but wish their burgers were more juicier and added more sauce. 8.5/10 for sure for the chicken burger and the fries
Poutine meh, very long service, too expensive for what it is!
If you can get a table outside it is a beautiful location but kitchen and service is slow, slow, slow. Our waitress felt like being new in the job and was on top super unfriendly. Wouldn t recommend this - at all. Note: we were here during lunch time so it is super busy. The main issue was the service though. We were sitting in front of of empty plates like 20 minutes and had a very hard time to get someone to take them away.
Disappointing I rarely write reviews, but today I feel compelled to share my disappointment with restaurant Le Chic Shack. We traveled from Montreal with high hopes of trying their renowned burgers, as we had heard great things about the place from other moms in a Facebook mom group. Old Quebec, being a bustling town with limited parking, presented its challenges. We arrived as a group of six adults with three toddlers in strollers. Finding parking was difficult, and we had to navigate the streets with our young children. One couple and their toddler arrived first and inquired about available seating. Unfortunately, they were informed that there was no space for us. They then asked if they could order takeout so that we could enjoy our meal in a nearby park. Initially, the restaurant stated that they typically dont offer takeout during busy times, but they made an exception for us. They were aware that we were a group of six with three toddlers and wanted to order takeout since they informed us that they had no available indoor or outdoor seating, and we couldnt bring in our strollers. Some of the children needed to nap while we ate. After some negotiation, they suggested that we take seats at the bench at the open window. We asked again if we could bring in our strollers, but were told that it wasnt allowed. Reluctantly, we decided to have the men sit at the window bench while the women sat on the outdoor ledge with the strollers. We all placed our orders, received our drinks, and patiently waited for our food. To our surprise, only the first couple with one toddler received their takeout order. The remaining four of us were denied takeout, despite being part of the same group. After waiting for about 30-40 minutes, another server approached us and informed us that sitting on the outdoor ledge was not permitted. They offered to move us indoors since a table had become available. However, when we inquired about high chairs, we were informed that they didnt have any. They suggested booster seats, but unfortunately, they were not suitable for my child. We asked once again if we could bring in the strollers, but were met with a firm no. At this point, we were extremely frustrated. I, being pregnant with gestational diabetes, had patiently waited in the heat for 40 minutes with only a drink. The mishandling of the situation was beyond anything I could have imagined and quite frankly, absurd. Were children not welcome at this restaurant, or was it because we spoke with an anglophone accent? After all, this place was recommended by a mom group, and one couple out of three was able to order takeout. We felt unfairly excluded and mistreated. The server was unable to find a solution for us. Not wanting to cause a scene, I stood up and started walking away with my stroller, trying to calm down my hungry and grumpy toddler. Ultimately, the restaurant staff failed to find a suitable resolution, and so we made the decision to leave. Before departing, I requested to speak with the manager. Both the manager and the chef came out to address our concerns. It turned out that they didnt have the full story, and after hearing our side of the story, they expressed apologies. However, they didnt make any effort to rectify the situation. I informed them that I would be leaving a review and filing a formal complaint, as we felt that our children were the reason why we werent properly accommodated. The chefs demeanor was particularly rude. In this day and age, I expect a certain level of respect and accountability when it comes to customer service. As a mother and a pregnant woman, I believe it is reasonable to expect accommodation for my children. After all, everyone on this earth was once a child. How would they feel in a similar situation? Needless to say, we will not be returning to this restaurant, and we will not be recommending it to anyone, whether from mom blogs or the general Montreal area. Au revoir.
overrated
As a family 4 adults 2 children. Good value for money, decent dishes, ok quantity, no one was hungry when they left! They make an effort with their homemade sodas but they are not very good... The charming and smiling waitress kindly agreed to replace one of the sodas with a milkshake.
Nice little terrace, nice location. The service is a little slow, but the employees are friendly. Food is ok. Poutines are made with cubed potatoes and not fries. The homemade sodas lack a little taste. The sweet potato fries are good and crispy and so is the salad. I find the prices a little high if I compare to other restaurants of this type.
Poutine is not good for the location (Quebec City). The beef poutine was very soupy and sour. The potatoes are cubes instead of French fries.
The meal is delicious, I had a little lunch and nothing to say, it was excellent, impeccable service and the atmosphere was very calm.
Do not accept cash..
Came on a busy Sunday and we are seated after about 10 minutes. Service was very prompt and courteous. Enjoyed a nice rousse lager and their cider. Loved the veggie burger and vegan poutine. Nice atmosphere in a classic old building. Vegetarian options: Veggie burger and vegan poutine. Dietary restrictions: Several vegetarian and vegan options. Gluten free buns available. Parking: Streets are tight and crowded. Better to walk. Kid-friendliness: Great for kids. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes accessible.
The two of us ordered a hamburger combo, bulgogi kimchi poutine, and for drinks, a beer and a milkshake! The waiters here are really sensible and friendly! Is the atmosphere very bar? I feel the same way and I really like it! But I think the food was a bit salty for my standards. It was too greasy and tasted like I couldnt eat it without a drink. But I ate it with a milkshake and it was okay! Striped meat poutine...it literally contains finely chopped bulgogi, kimchi, and other ingredients that go into poutine, and although it wasnt very tasty by my standards, it was still edible! I want to go again :)
I came to this place with my elderly grandmother and we loved the chick shack burger! The only problem was the garlic in the chit burger. There was too much garlic and my grandmother kept burping the garlic in the car all the way back to Ottawa. She kept saying IT BURPS WELL! IT BURPS WELL!, but it was disgusting for me and my dog who peed in the car because he was upset at the smell. When we got home we had to dump grandma back in the care home because of the garlic burps and they kept calling us to take her back but we turned off the phone. You guys should start a commercial campaign for your shlick shlack burgers. CHIC SHKAK BURGERS, THEY BURP WELL! Definitely coming back...but not with my grandmother.
Food was pretty good, but when one of my group spilled their water the staff just avoided eye contact while we cleaned it with half the tables paper towel supply. Kinda funny tho tbh
Slowest place Ive ever been too
We ordered chicken burger and salad bowl. Unfortunately burger didnt meet my expectations. The chicken patty was dry and lacked flavor, making it hard to enjoy. Size was too small as per price. Overall, it was a disappointing meal, and I wouldnt recommend the chicken burger. Although full stars for service and atmosphere, located at prime location.
Nice and cool place. Burger tasty with home made soda. Definitely a place to try and come back.
Food and service was great, but the bathrooms need a deep clean and renovation.
Three times I asked for the poutine to come out first. But the poutine and both burgers came together. Three times!! The burgers were great, the poutine, the reason we came here was not great. I ve had better poutine in Ireland. I have two more days to find a better poutine.Update later!
Great burgers and the poutine with mushrooms was a delicious spin. The salted maple caramel shake was yummy too. Kids loved it.
Good local food however it gets very crowded during summer so expect some time to wait in line. But its worth it local dish and the poutine is good
Excellent, very courteous personal service
This restaurant seems really good but, when I tried to go there, there were 4 people waiting to enter at 11:40am and no customers inside the restaurant. I waited 10 minutes and still nothing... despite the presence of employees in the establishment. I wonder what justifies the wait... I will evaluate better when I am able to eat there. For the moment, 1 star for the service.
Very good burger
Good food but long waiting and even longer waiting for food. Could be as it was a Sunday.
A decent burger and fries combo, but a little overpriced for what you get. The soda is very interesting, a lot of unique options.
The food was very good but the service from the waitress was terrible, she didnt speak French. The waiting time is very long
One of the worst bulgogi we ve ever tasted.
Chicken burger, the chicken was dry and burnt and whats more, they complain to us because we complain, we ask to see the owner and a young man arrives without much class, we will never go back there
The food was good. It was busy and we had to wait a bit for a server to take our order.
A nice little surprise to discover, simple food but well executed! Vegetarian options: A few options available! Poutine is always a good idea and they execute it very well , their fries are very good! Food : 4/5 |
Incredibly delicious eggs benedict with that tangy twist. Original breakfasts and very welcoming service! Very nice experience located at a table along the wall to be able to open the windows and watch people!!!
It was just perfect as an experience, excellent food and perfect service.
La masala poutine is amazing!
Fast and tasty
We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. There were four of us and we had to wait 45 minutes to receive our order. We had even reconfirmed our order when the waiter wrote it down to make sure he got everything correctly. Despite this, after 45 minutes of waiting, we still have not received our order. We had to ask another server how long it was going to take. We also saw that other people who arrived after us were served first. Also, I dont eat beef due to my cultural beliefs, but I was served a beef burger. It was only when I took a bite that I realized it tasted different. I was told I would have to wait some more to receive my chicken burger. All the waiter could say was Im sorry. We can get you some free fries. It took me another 30 minutes to receive the chicken burger because the waiter said it was going to be long. I had to take my food away because we had already wasted a lot of time in the restaurant and I couldnt even eat there. Terrible service, very disappointing experience especially at dinner time when you are extremely hungry! Tip: Check your invoices! We were given three different invoices with things we didnt order. The waiter seemed to be lost and gave us bogus excuses that didnt make sense.
Please dont go there this is a tourist trap THIS IS NOT A POUTINE
Unfortunately the poutine was not up to par, probably top 1 of the worst poutines I have eaten in my life. An extra star for excellent service
Beautiful place, quality food, great service in spite of how busy it is, house made sodas are really fresh, great selection of beverages, 10/10 would recommend!
Quite busy for a Monday. Although it is Canada Day. The burger was very good. I ordered the braised poutine and shack burger both had aioli and horseradish.
Excellent
MY FAVORITE MY GO TO PLACE WHENEVER IN QUEBEC CITY
Delicious food and great service. We ordered a Poutine Braisee, a Le Chic Burger and a La Verte Salad. Special thanks to Alex (thry guy with long beard) for the short history lesson.
I like the big list of different puttine. Very kind staff
Excellent food, service a little long except that there were a lot of people in Old Quebec, its worth it.
Wow! The location is spectacular. Beautiful place right in the heart of the action. We had the mushroom poutine, cocorico salad, and some maple and pepper chips! Those chips are a genius creation - could eat a bucket full! Service was a bit slower, but, not as bad as some other places we went to in the area. Overall, will come back.
Service a little long but food so good its worth the wait. We went there on July 1st. Maybe Im biased.
Great little burger spot. Thank you for the window seat. Delicious boozy milkshakes and burgers.
Not really the best Poutine around...the potatoes are cut into large pieces and not crispy enough, make fries instead.
Excellent value for money: delicious meat, exquisite sweet potato fries, among the best we have eaten, accompanied by homemade sodas which are all worth trying!
Great burgers, kids loved the shakes, pleasant atmosphere
Burger and soda was ok, but the poutine we chose was the worst
Good food. Nice place.
I cant speak for the burgers. Only ate there once. We both ate poutine, two different varieties. I know, poutine. But this was a cut above the normal fries, cheese and gravy. Delicious, rich savory taste, quality cuts of beef, in a large bowl, so much so that it served as dinner leftovers that night. The dining room was a bit crowded and hot, but the food is worth it. Considering another trip to Quebec City just for this ( 2,600 miles from home)!
The food is very tasteless, I dont recommend it at all. The waiter who touched us was super gone. Precia, who was drugged, offered us the bill and the food had not yet arrived, obviously he forgot some dishes to bring . I would never recommend it to anyone!!!
Been there on July 9, manager has no idea of his menu. Tried the galvaude poutine, a little expansive for the plate.
Great little spot with a view of the hotel/castle. The poutine was excellent as was the strawberry shake!
This was a great place to eat. Poutines were excellent. Burgers were excellent. Kid-friendliness: Really great servers when it comes to kids. Food : 4/5 |
Our order was A bison burgers one with green salad another with fries. As a drink we had blood orange soda and chic coke. Food was delicious: burger amazing, salad very fresh and sour, fries definitely the best in whole Quebec!!! Blood orange drink was like a lemonade, very refreshing. But for the homemade coke double think before ordering, something was odd with a flavour and a taste.
my friends and i came here because it looked pretty and fun. do not come here. it s a tourist suck in. the food is bad and they serve poutine with potato chunks. poutine was almost perfect until we saw the potato chunks. in the short run all of the other reviews our bad too! and why do the payed customers need a code in the bathroom?
No but dsl we are in Quebec and we serve breakfast potatoes in a poutine but total disappointment!!! I expect poutine like that in Ottawa .
Their homemade chips are addicting
With my friends we had the classic poutine: I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! We all hated it and all have bad memories of it. We were seated on a metal table which smelled strongly. We had to install a strip of brown paper to try to dispel the foul smell. The dishes were also served on metal plates. For those who hate metal, I wish you good luck if you go to this restaurant. On the other hand, the location which was in front of the grandiose Château Frontenac was perfect: the only positive point. In short, I dont recommend it (especially not the poutine).
Friendly welcome. Pleasant and relatively quick service. Disappointing burger, overcooked meat dry and tasteless. Generous portion of fries but good...industrial. Homemade soda is good.
The food isnt bad, but its not poutine. The fries are not fries (potato cubes), the brown sauce is not brown sauce, on the other hand the kwick-kwick cheese is very good and fresh! The sodas are homemade and are good.
The food is really good. Today I ordered the Le Shack with fries. 10 minutes later sorry no fries. Substitute sweet fries or chips. Meal arrives no drinks. Ask for our drinks. Yes they are on the way. Half through our meal I head to the bar to get my drinks. Eating fries and the ketchup is empty. The new bottle was only a few minutes. Waiter kept saying sorry. We are from out of province and enjoy going there but two years in a row with poor service. Celebrating my wife s birthday this week. This place will not be on the list. Lots of selection around and easy to get good food and good service.
We stopped by this place for dinner around 2 p.m. on a Sunday... it was extremely long in terms of service. For the rest it was okay.... food and atmosphere
Excellent place at least for us Italians, amazing burger and really good fries. Their coca cola is clearly made with maple syrup but it is perhaps more of a drink, it is too sweet and is not suitable for hamburgers, but nevertheless it must be tried. Quiet environment and friendly, helpful staff. Absolutely recommended. Cost of the combo 21 in line with prices in Italy.
Combo includes soda and chips/ French fries, the price is reasonable. Burgers and chips are delicious. The portion (chips/ fries) is large too.
Great burger joint..10 different types of burgers and interesting choice of fries and poutine.. try the Le Masala Poutine
Atmosphere and location were the only great things about this place. The fries werent fresh-cut and tasted like they were reheated, and the cheeseburger, so small and nothing to it. Walk a bit and try better.
This is a really cool and awesome place! Food is great and their service is topnotch! Although you need to find a parking spot somewhere as there is no parking in front of the restaurant. Parking: There is no parking, you can find in nearby streets or paid parking spaces Wheelchair accessibility: There is no accessibility space as far as i observed
Great selection, friendly staff and tasty food. Excellent latté and definitely recommend the house made sodas.
Great spot for an indulgent round of poutine! We went for lunch and got the la grano salad, the la forestière poutine, a milkshake and some house made sodas. All were very tasty, and our server was polite and attentive. Casual atmosphere, good for families. Vegetarian options: There are two vegetarian poutine options, a veggie burger, and salads available.
Had to wait 40 minutes outside the weekend and the place doesnt take reservations. The place is nice though and not too expensive The burgers and French fries good. The menu has many choice including unconventional ones. The beer was not that good. However the milkshakes and the home soda are delicious highly recommended Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options. All indicated on the menu with symbols. The place can smell meat though Parking: The place is near downtown so not a lot of parking outside is available. Recommend going on foot Kid-friendliness: The place is quite big, with a lot of tissue and the service with a plateau and burgers is kids friendly Plus they have a kids menu Wheelchair accessibility: The terrace is wheelchair accessible but Quebec downtown is not necessary easy to navigate with a wheelchair and the front door is a no go
Standard food burgers were on the smaller size , and the service was ok
Visiting from New England - we each had a different burger, fries with aioli, beer, white sangria, and wine. Everything was yummy - Emile was fabulous!!!
Its chic and its shack
Frozen fries, small hamburger, big price. A tourist trap? Certainly.
Great poutine! Loved their chopped up potatoes. 7-18
What a wonderful place for a quick lunch.
Excellent food quality ,reasonably priced, with friendly staff . Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are equally yummy and worth trying. Food : 5/5 |
I dont understand the principle of poutine 2.0 with large square potatoes. Tourists want to taste the Quebec version of poutine, we dont want to adapt to Europeans because we are next to the castle. Your specialty is fries and they are not in poutine! I had the Braisée, the shredded beef is good and the cheese is fresh but it s not a stew we want, it s a poutine! The sauce is very diluted.
One of the worst poutines in Quebec, a poutine with breakfast-style square potatoes?!?!?! Ultra touristy since it is located in front of the Château Frontenac, the fries otherwise are not homemade, I really dont recommend trying a REAL Quebec poutine!
Certainly one of the best burger restaurants. The rustic one containing bison is incredibly delicious. The truffle fries are very good. To the point that when we returned to Quebec this year, we absolutely had to come back to eat them And above all a big thank you to the team who are always in a good mood
DELICIOUS ! (and well placed) I was looking for lunch (noon) to go. $12 for the cheapest hamburger, $4 for a small fries, and $4 for a house soda = 20 with service. Even though I had been recommended this restaurant, I was hesitant because I found it very expensive. Once, having noticed that these were the prices in the surrounding area (sandwiches in a good bakery) so I went there... and I didnt regret it!!! It s definitely delicious! The homemade mango soda that the friendly waiter recommended to me was very original, fresh, not too sweet. The fries are crunchy and not too salty. And the hamburger made with good bread. He had great taste. In short, I highly recommend! All you have to do is sit on a bench facing the river (also well located to enjoy the sun and this beautiful city)
We came on a monday afternoon. Staff was friendly. We ordered chic and poulet bbq burgers. Not a good experience. The poulet bbq didnt taste like chicken, and no bbq taste, also felt mushy. The Meat was dry and strong flavor. The chic cola was super sweet. Also the ketchup had a weird taste.
Excellent poutine and drinks!
We arrived at this restaurant by chance when it was pouring rain outside. We didnt have many expectations, but this restaurant was able to delight us and even exceed our desires. We loved their tomato basil soup so much that we went back the next day for another one. And what about the portions? You get what you pay for. I have never seen a restaurant so generous with the quantity of fries. I highly recommend!
Great, great food. Fantastic service. Just a word about chips. They are exactly that - chips, not British french fries. That said, even though I was expecting the traditional fry, the unexpected chips were freshly made and seasoned and great! Outstanding burger selection. Vegetarian options: Just one veggie burger on menu.
This restaurant was our first place to eat on our first night in Quebec City; and it definitely started the trend that every restaurant we went to was amazing! As American, we love our burgers, and they hit the nail on the head. Our food was wonderful, the atmosphere was great and our service was outstanding. Do not pass this place by if you are visiting, you must stop in! A big shout out to the staff and the cooks who gave us a wonderful first bite of Quebec. We will return the next time we are in Quebec!
Had a poutine. Great adaption of a classic dish. Great location and view on the Chateau Frontenac. The waitress named Soraya was really sweet.
The Le Masala poutine was better than we expected and we all liked it, the veggie burger was solid and filling. What I did not really like was the classic poutine. I was prepared for the potatoes to be cubed but I still wasnt prepared for how large they were cubed and the rest of it was just ok but nothing special. I recommend coming here if you want to try the special or unique poutine options but not the classic.
Amazing burgers, beer, and poutine! Also got the soda juice.
We absolutely loved this place. We ate at the window. Their homemade soda was great.
Perfect service and excellent poutine
Amazing burger! Choice between green salad (which comes with pickles and croutons), choice of fries and excellent sweet potatoes!
The staff was rude and hospitality was mehh. Food was great.
