Un concept unique au coeur du Petit Champlain : notre Bar Antipasto vous accueille dans un lieu chaleureux où vous pourrez partager et explorer des saveurs, produits et créations culinaires typiquement italiennes dans une ambiance conviviale.
We just had one of the best meals of our lives at Va Bene. It was recommended to us by our hotel concierge and it was well worth the hike down the hill. I got the carbonara and it was life changing. The service was wonderful and the restaurant itself was beautiful, clean, and I can’t wait to come back to try everything else!
Excellent chic restaurant well situated in the old quarter of Quebec. The food is authentic and delicious. Service is 5 star and will definitely go back again! We had the beef carpaccio, a must! A special mention to the seafood risotto and fresh homemade ravioli.
One of the best Italian restaurants in Quebec! We ordered the charcuterie platter and everything was delicious! For main we ordered the seafood risotto and it was mind blowing. Lastly, we had to try the nona’s tiramisu. Incredibly good! Highly recommended.
A quick stop for a light lunch and a glass of wine - perfect. The food was delicious and the outside seating was great for people watching. Our server, Alecia, took good care of us.
Amazing experience. Food and service were outstanding. We went back for late lunch/early dinner on our last day because we enjoyed it so much the first time. They accommodated a larger party of 6 at the last minute. Delicious, we would definitely go back.
We were in the area around 3 pm, and many restaurants were still closed. I saw the high rating of Va Bene and suggested we’d go there, and boy, am I glad we did. The service was excellent, and the food, classics prepared and presented in a truly innovative way, were super delicious. If you’re in the area, you must go!
We had walked by Va Bene quite a few times and we were eager to go, we decided to make it our last dinner of our trip and it was the perfect finale! Not only is the interior absolutely charming and sophisticated, the staff was amazing and attentive plus the food was absolutely delicious. This was by far the best dinner of our trip, we started with a spritz along with choosing our own antipasti which included focaccia, suppli (or also known as arancini depending on what part of Italy), prosciutto, an Italian cheese and the panzanella salad. Then we tried two of their specials that evening which was an Italian style French onion soup that was to die for with cipollini onions and a homemade beef broth and finished with their version of poutine (it was carneval/poutine week) which was a braised veal cheek gnocchi poutine - the veal was like butter it just melted in your mouth! Overall, if I had another night to go during my trip I would eat there twice, the food and ambiance was perfect in every way! Great little gem to the Petit Champlain district!!
The food is excellent but overprice. Example: one piece of focaccia cost 4$ or 100g of regular burrata 19$ that a crazy amount! Good location, tiny space, modern exterior and high quality serving dishes it’s a cherry on the top. Not recommended for tourists with kids.
Superb evening, excellent service and very good food
I loved it! Outstanding service and exquisite food! The restaurant is small so it offers a nice intimate atmosphere! I recommend!
Dinner was excellent. The pasta flambés are a must and the tiramisu, WOW. The servers were really nice!
Service was great. We both had french onion soup would definitely recommend.
Food was excellent. However, we were served by an unfriendly waiter. He sounded and acted like a robot while describing the menu and also during service. Very unpleasant experience for such a touristy restaurant. Food
Warm welcome and service, good advice on wines. The pasta is exquisite; we had the rigatoni and the bucatini, both very good choices. The tiramisu to share finishes the meal on a sweet and homemade note. Booking seems like the best option because its not big. ($130 for 2 courses, 2 glasses and wine and dessert)
The portions were ridiculous $18 for a half full glass. Pasta and carpaccio without much flavor. Really very disappointed. I give 3 stars for the beauty of the restaurant only.
Absolutely fantastic! Great service and amazing food. Must end with the tiramisu!!!!
Our hotel, Auberge Saint Antoine, recommended this restaurant and it was so delicious that we ate here two nights! Had Lucas as our server the first night and Emily the second. Both were so friendly and helpful recommending menu choices. I am not usually a charcuterie person but at Lucass suggestion, we tried one and loved it! All of the items on the menu that we tried were delicious. We saw many people turned away due to no reservation, so definitely make one! Its well worth it!
Much too expensive for what it is and service to be reviewed
We went there as part of Quebec table gourmande. It was delicious! The staff was very attentive, and even played a special song for our anniversary :) Very satisfied with our experience!
A very very ordinary onion soup and a tea, with taxes $29 and 4 visits from the waiter in 15 minutes, ok were leaving! draw your conclusions. In short: Tourist trap and several comments ring false .
What a great experience The place
Calamari was delicious. The pasta was plain Jane. Maybe wrong dish but lacked flavour. Some 80$ special for 2 . But seemed like a bowl of slop and 3$ bag of pasta.
We had two evenings at Va Bene. Our FAV. FOOD, service, atmosphere 5 s !!! Superb !!!!!
The $75 set for 2 is really tiny. Wouldnt hurt to be more generous. The kitchen is small, so expect a bit of waiting Give 2* because over priced for what is served. Food : 2/5
superb evening dinner with friends. Wow. Everything was sublime. Really A1++ as place, service and food. It just didnt make sense because it was so good
The food was good, we were there for lunch and didnt want a big meal so ended up sharing a charcuterie
We discovered this amazing place during a food tour, and it was absolutely fabulous! Well definitely be coming back.
What a great place. In the tourist centre so worried but the food and service was amazing. One of the owners makes sure everything is flowing. Only issue is that we are leaving Quebec so won t get to try the parm pasta for two.
Superb. Great menu options. Superb tastes. We had ravioli all a mortadella and rigatoni tagliatelle al pesto trapanese. Both were beyond exceptional. Our best meal of Italian anywhere. Again superb.
Beautiful place. The server was nice but more attentive to the other tables around than ours. The antipasto starter was good. The pasta in the parmesan wheel was really disappointing Cold and tasteless. For $75 I expected more. The tiramisu was good for example.
The pasta flambés were absolutely stupid and our server Lucas was very friendly and very entertaining. THANKS
Cozy restaurant, very friendly service, tasty food! To try: the famous pasta flambées and the nona tiramisu!
Very warm atmosphere, not many places so important to book! Incredible experience, pasta flambéed before our eyes in the kitchen! Antoine excellent server, superb food recommendations. We took a platter for 2 to share as well as the tsiramisu. Simply divine
Very very good, the flambé pasta to take are incredible, quality product, the service is impeccable, one of the best services I have had in a restaurant and to finish the tiramisu is so good. Im going back.
A pure delight
Everything was perfect there! Home +++
Exceptional place! The location, the place, the decor, the welcome, the dishes; everything was perfect.
I loved my experience from start to finish! Friendly and attentive staff. The meals (especially the starter) were majestic and tasty. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I cant wait to come back
Best dining experience weve had in a while. This small restaurant offers excellent food and service in a warm atmosphere.
Great food! But the portion was so little compared to the price..
Super great Italian food. The servers were all super friendly and polite.
Excellent
We loved the whole experience, both the service and the dishes were impeccable! We had the pasta in the parmesan mule with the tiramisu for desert and we were completely speechless! I highly recommend this restaurant!
We had a beautiful dinner with family. Food was fantastic, atmosphere and service amazing! Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a great time.
We had an excellent time, warm and very smiling team. We were tempted by the pasta flambé with parmesan, what can we say... it was an incredible experience, the chef makes this dish in front of you, we really recommend this restaurant and especially this dish Thanks again to the whole team for this wonderful moment
I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. We were a table of 2 arriving at 11:40 a.m., we ordered the drinks and the food at the same time, the drinks arrived, the starter followed a little later and then for the main course we waited 45 minutes between the starter and the main course main, which is unacceptable for pasta dishes. A person comes to apologize, telling us that the restaurant is full and that there will be a short wait (30 minutes after the entrance is cleared) in this case why continue to fill the restaurant??, so much It was a long time before the table next to us asked us if he had forgotten to prepare our dishes. During the dishes no one came to check if everything was ok or if we needed anything. The person who I imagine to be in charge takes away our dishes without asking us anything and with a nonchalant attitude. The service is slow and completely lacks consideration for customers. I dont recommend this place. There are much better places in Quebec PS: we got it for $130 excluding tips, only commercial gesture to offer AFTER having paid the bill, its 2 shots of limoncello knowing that we had warned the person who took our order that my partner would not dont drink alcohol, thats it
Perfect welcome and atmosphere. Attentive and friendly service. Great find in old Quebec. Their antipasto towers are superb and truly excellent. The osso bucco traditionally served with saffron risotto was a real delight. The pure and simple delicacy of Italian cuisine.
This place was recommended by our guide. We got the linguine alle vongole and the bucatini alla carbonara which were incredible. Would definetly come back!
Delicious. Very small and tight as a restaurant. Dont go there if you are claustrophobic. The food is delicious. Pleasant service (but we feel uncomfortable with children). We had the pasta flambée. We were able to go to the kitchen to see them preparing which is very nice for the children. On the other hand, this pasta is more than rich. Very heavy. 3 of us took it and left some in the serving dish!
Very very nice discovery! The pastas flambéed in front of us, the impeccable service from Lucas, the location on the terrace, everything was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant. Ill be going back soon, thats for sure!
EXCELLENT ! Impeccable service! Smiles, welcome, warmth, everything you expect from a good restaurant! The prices are very good! Highly recommended!
FABULOUS ! Everything was delicious and the service perfect!
Serveurs arrogants. À fuir
Absolutely a treat! We were served really well by one of the co-owners and the food was absolutely delicious! I recommend 100%
Wow the staff was incredible and so attentive! Its been a long time since Ive had such good service The food was fresh, succulent and perfectly seasoned. I never leave a review but this little restaurant is worth the detour, you feel good there
Happiness for the taste buds.
Excellent food we ate the pasta in the cheese wheel phew it was decadent. And the service with Andreane B was impeccable. Adorable, friendly and efficient. We will come back for sure. A wonderful birthday dinner, everything was perfect THANKS
Andreanne B was a great waitress thank you for everything
Delicious
Pretty good food. Super good service! Very cute restaurant.
Food was delicious and just the right portions. Amelie was really nice.
A very beautiful place! We were seated on the terrace, perfectly located to enjoy the view of the district bustling with tourism and fireworks. The service was impeccable from start to finish, with attention to every detail. A big thank you to Émilie for her warmth and professionalism, you helped make this moment unforgettable. The only downside: the famous flambé pasta dish. Although the presentation was spectacular and the flavors were there, the pasta was a little too firm for my taste, and the lack of accompaniment is felt, which makes the price a little high for a dish of pasta alone.
Lucas a great waiter and the food is extraordinary - I recommend
Va Bene had delicious drinks, though on the pricy side. The osso bucco was delicious, though the bolognase dish wasn t very saucy, just tasted like ground meat on pasta. The tiramisu was a nice end to the meal. The atmosphere was very nice, a very intimate restaurant. Downsides were it was very hot as the kitchen is open, service was alright, we were served by two people which was kind of confusing, and the washrooms were way too small (think airplane bathrooms).
Excellent place to eat, the food is very good, the service excellent, very clean and the atmosphere of the place is very pleasant
Good location and atmosphere, beautiful patio setting, tried antipasto with aperol spritz. Pricey but you pay for location
Highly recommend this small Italian restaurant at the base of Le Fontenac hill.
It was the first time we went to Va Benne and it certainly wont be the last. The pasta prepared in the parmesan wheel was absolutely excellent. We would also like to highlight Emilies excellent service. Thank you
Remaining empty, not able to get a place because the waiters dont feel like working. Go spend your money elsewhere where people want to work and serve you.
Very good restaurant, the pasta is delicious and the waiters are very attentive, the service was impeccable.
We were looking forward to a good Italian meal and were so disappointed. It s sadly a mediocre overpriced tourist trap at best.
The va bene bar antipasto restaurant has impressed me. The food is fresh, moist, and overall incredibly tasty. The fish was light, juicy, and amazingly seasoned. The pasta was amazing. If youre in the area, this is a must try.
Amazing service excellent food
Try the MILANO sharing platter Super good TAPAS And a must the TIRAMISU. Trying to get a seat on the terrace is an experience you won t forget!
Great service, great atmosphere, great meal. We had the cheese platter and the carpaccio di manzo (beef) as a starter. It was a treat and a great discovery. I recommend!
As soon as you walk through the door, you are completely charmed by the atmosphere and the beauty of the enveloping and soft place. The welcome is warm, we feel welcome. The service is smiling, attentive and fully attentive. Beef carpaccio starters and the antipasto platter is delightful and delicious. It was impossible for us to resist the gourmet pleasure of the truffle pasta flambéed in a wheel of Parmesan even if several dishes caught our eye. We finished the meal with a tiramisu shared by four, it disappeared in a snap. I just cant wait to go back!
Nice atmosphere, great service... on the other hand I was expecting fresh pasta.
Ate badly and spent worse!
Perfect little romantic evening. The waiters and waitresses were just lovely and remarkably professional. As for the food, it was divine! We enjoyed a platter of fallen cheese. Then the legendary dough mixed in a wheel of parmesan. And to finish the nonna s incredible tiramisu!! A very pleasant moment for an unforgettable memory!! Thank you for this wonderful evening.
Very good parmesan pasta, truly the legendary recipe of the restaurant, the staff is adorable we even had the right to go to the bar to see our pasta being prepared
Excellent Italian cuisine restaurant with a beautiful little covered terrace in the heart of the historic Place Royale and Petit Quartier districts. To delight you as a couple: take the starters to share as well as the tiramisu (family recipe) for two. Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian dishes. Parking: Many parking spaces are available in public parking lots near the Petit Quartier Champlain and Place Royale. You have to walk a few hundred meters.
The best carbonara and delicious onion soup!
Amazing experience, food, service, rental 10/10 to try without hesitation!
Very nice little Italian restaurant, intimate, perfect service and the menu is varied and oh so excellent! 10/10
Beautiful little restaurant with friendly service and simple but well executed food!
We had a great evening! From the starter platter to the tiramisu for dessert, everything was excellent! We loved the service and the atmosphere. Very trendy decor and jazz music from the 50s brings us into a more than perfect universe!
Great atmosphere! The waiter Nicolas is great, loves what he does and very pleasant, funny
We went on a Thursday evening with three colleagues. We were near the open window which gave a nice little breeze. 5-star service with Youri, who served us with great care The aperitif was delicious, the beef carpaccio was just divine (no wonder it is the 2nd best in Quebec!) The spaghetti carbonara was very good, although it lacked a little sauce for my taste. For dessert, the tiramisu was a cloud for the taste buds. You have to realize that its not cheap, the prices are quite high but the quality of the food is really excellent. Thank you Youri for giving us an excellent evening
I adore! competent waiters and what can we say about the tiramisu, what a delight
We had a lovely evening. The starters were delicious but we were disappointed with the pasta. However the dishes are very expensive. I dont think I would go back there.
Beautiful and good, beautiful little terrace, very nice owner!
Wonderful - stopped in for a small snack & dessert. Ordered an antipasto - fantastic!! The staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
The service was extraordinary. The servers advice allowed us to have a superb experience. The food is amazing. The Milano charcuterie starter and the parmesan flambé pasta meal are exquisite dishes. Best Italian cuisine restaurant.
Good service, good food, good wine. Its the best Italian restaurant in Quebec city
Excellent restaurant and super good service!!
Amazing experience at Va Bene! As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by the restaurants maître d who suggested a nice table for us on the terrace. We opted for a charcuterie platter, Aperol, Spritz, Panzenella, seafood pasta and flambés in the parmesan wheel. EXCELLENT ! We were seduced for a dessert, grandmas tiramisu. Wow! We were even invited to see the pasta being flambéed in the kitchen, its quite impressive! Everything is super good and tasty, I will go back! I recommend! Parking: No parking possible in the streets of Petit Champlain, you will have to opt for covered paid parking near the Museum of Civilization, or in the streets a 5-minute walk away.
Wonderful dinner, the place is very small but beautiful. The meals are excellent as are the cocktails. I chose the carpaccio, the pasta flambées to share and the famous tiramisu ouf 10/10.
Carpaccio di manzo & Tagliolini Alfredo Incredible Unbelievable Incredibile And a great team to serve you An amazing team to wow you Philippe Yury Selena
Oh wow! Everything was excellent from start to finish! Starter to share, the beef carpacio and parmesan pasta in the cheese wheel, a delight! Yorhy our server was spot on, super good service, we didnt miss anything!
Great food, great service, but disappointing onion soup, no taste.
I went on two occasions, for dinner and for brunch. I was delighted both times. The antipasto to share are excellent.
The panzatella salad, please, dont miss it and their pasta made with cheese, uffff!!!!! Favorite places to eat in Quebec!
After a week in Canada sampling North-American cuisine we were ready for some European home comforts! Our experience at Va Bene was perfect. Everything from the food, the ambiance, the service was 5*. Proper Italian cookery in the heart of Old Town, at a great price. We had the Guanciale Di Manzo (Beef Cheek) and Tiramisu. Would highly recommend.
A menu full of great discoveries. We visited this restaurant twice in the last month during our visits to Quebec. We were delighted with each visit. Attentive and professional service. The dishes are presented with care and bursting with flavors and textures. The Italian music playlist adds to the feeling of jumping to Italy for a short while. Meraviglioso, here it turns out soon!
Its funny because from a distance or from the street we dont perceive or notice that its that big. I was even surprised how beautiful it was inside. Its really chic. We managed to get the small table overlooking the street. The people on the street are really special or annoying. I thought it was a bit stupid. But people are like that. Maybe installed something so customers are less seen from the outside. In any case. Its not the end of the world either. With several flutes of Proseco it works. LOL I really liked the service. We really think of everything. There was no waiting. It made the difference. The starter was delicious. The main course too. We were spoiled with a dessert and a small menu. The card was not intended for us. This map tells a story. Then it was explained to us. Really interesting. The only thing I wish was to have had more seafood with my pasta. It was a lot of pasta. My wife didnt finish her dish. Since when she eats the starter its complicated afterwards. So that solved the problem. I didnt exactly look at the price without the Proseco. I believe someone can eat for around $50.00. Something like that. I like to enjoy it when I go to a restaurant. I didnt take any photos. It was really so delicious. I didnt have time. Parking: The city has made changes with parking terminals. So currently we are not paying.
Great evening! Magnificent decor, impeccable service and succulent food! The waiter suggested lots of dishes and mocktails adapted to the fact that I was pregnant. I loved the attention!
Nice place for a romantic evening. I loved the Crema Limone cocktail and the pesto parpadelle were excellent too. Ive come to your place twice now and Im definitely going to come back.
Exemplary old Quebec restaurant. Server with a very comforting kindness. Italy to Quebec without customs and the search of your suitcases. An impressive choice of wine and reasonable price for the quality. I recommend 6 /5
Everything is perfect, from the service to the quality of the food, plus the little touches that make all the difference. A must in Quebec City!
We loved our evening, everything was perfect! Well done!
We will go back there for sure
Charming little place
A restaurant with a warm atmosphere and succulent dishes! The pasta flambés with truffles are just wow and the antipasto on 3 floors is something that I have never seen in a restaurant, in short, a deserved 5 star and a must in Petit Champlain!
Very good surprise, one of the rare restaurants in Little Champlain open until 10 p.m. during the week. The food was excellent (we tried the gnocchi poutine and braised veal cheek from Poutine Week). The atmosphere was very pleasant in our alcove. And above all the impeccable service from our server Lucas! Thank you we will come back!
A very nice discovery. A pleasant restaurant as much in decoration as in food and service. I would particularly like to thank Lucas, our very pleasant and very competent server. We ate there during poutine week and I ordered a revisited Italian poutine. It was delicious! Just like the other dishes on the menu. The products are very good and the dishes inventive. The dishes were plentiful and we will have to come back to taste the desserts. The place is very beautiful, the decoration has been chosen with care. I highly recommend.
The open kitchen afforded views of them making the parmesan pasta, a featured, tasty, but a tad overpriced for the portion size. The waitstaff was amazingly attentive and spoke fluent English while explaining dishes and recommendations. We enjoyed sharing one of the tiered platters, others enjoyed the pasta (above mentioned) feature, but felt that it should have come with a side salad for that price, the other enjoyed his beef. The atmosphere is quaint, the presentation of meals lovely and the tiramisu is nicely portioned to share!
Excellent starter and delicious risotto. Absolutely worth trying.
Excellent poutine for poutine week!
Sublime flavors. Well done to the chef.
Everything was perfect
First time in this restaurant. You have to GO!! It s the cutest little spot with amazing food and services. Highly recommend the mushroom risotto and tiramisu. We will definitely be back again for the next visit.
Really good
Went twice during my stay and the food was beyond incredible!! Everything is made fresh, open kitchen you can see it all being made specially if u sit at the bar, the tiramisu is to die for do not pass it up!
The food is very delicious, but it is a shame that the person who served us all the time did so reluctantly, and was rude, not with words but with his actions, for example when serving the water he splashed it, something that happened to me me and my wife, when it was time to pay he threw the terminal on the table
What a great discovery! Refined food! The taste of Italy! Thanks to Émilie for her impeccable service. We will come back to it!
Food is very good. Their special version of the Italian Wedding Soup is amazing and the Tiramsu (grandmas recipe) is the best I ever head. Pasta is fresh with good sauces. Staff is great
Excellent service all round. The waitress gave us good advice and was always present even though the restaurant was full. The dishes were absolutely divine and lived up to our expectations. Romantic atmosphere in Petit Champlain. The price (quite high) was worth the experience! I recommend
Great dining experience!! the antipasto tour is incredible and varied.
Disappointment. My partner and I spent our romantic evening between a table of 6 people and a table of 4 people...In terms of atmosphere, we didnt like it at all. Perhaps a waiter/waitress was missing, but the service was not worthy of good Italian restaurants. We served ourselves the wine (paid at a high price!), among other things. The platter to share: way too expensive for what it is. Positive note: the ravioli were excellent. The beef cheek was good, but we have had better ones. We will not return there.
Extra service with a little surprise at the end... (Thank you Émilie!). Atmosphere where you can talk to your accomplice without shouting. Exquisite dish. Im going back this year!
We ate here for my party. The dining room was very cozy, perfect for meals as a couple or small groups. The only problem was that we were seated at the table just before the one with the window at the end of the section, and it was a bit flat because behind me there was little space, even less because of the coat rack ... the waitress was used to it, except you still had to be careful when going to the window. The waitress and staff were still very warm, attentive, able to respond (at least to expressions) in Italian (a nice touch to the atmosphere). The food was excellent, paired with good Italian birra (brewed in Sorel) as well as good quality wine - all served with a smile. A good traditional tiramisu served at the end... in any case we eat like an Italian with reasonable prices. Suggestion not to sit there or have a table there unless you are solo. Overall, still a numero uno restaurant! Parking: Better to pay to park next to the cruise terminal instead of hassle. The Petit Champlain is already restricted and a little walk afterwards always feels good. Plus, its always beautiful in this area.
Super nice discovery! As much for the quality of the products as for the service, my partner and I had a great evening. I highly recommend. Thanks to our waitress who gave us exceptional service.
Amazing dinner and one of the chicest restaurants we came across in Quebec City. Antipasti was beautifully presented, and the special Parmesan truffle pasta was delicious. Thanks to Phil and the staff for their attentiveness and hospitality. Highlight of our trip!
Very disappointing service from Philippe. I mentioned having a severe seafood allergy and it was difficult to accommodate. He finally finds accommodation. Then comes the moment when he serves me water and he spills it in my oil/balsamic and does not bring me another one. He acted as if he didn t see. Finally, comes dessert: tiramisu. He was completely soggy, limp. He offered to bring me another one. But...it was just as soggy as the last one. 2-3 minutes later, he comes up to me with a passive-aggressive look and asks me what I think. I tell him it has the same texture as the previous one and I show him all the coffee accumulated at the bottom. He tells me that he serves hundreds a week, it s always like that For the price we pay I find it a shame to have a service like this when what we asked for was completely valid. I hope you will make changes to the service, because talking to customers like this is disrespectful
Fabulous! From our delightful server to excellent espresso our experience was first rate enjoyment. Antipasto and its presentation was lovely, soups were light and perfectly balanced. We look forward to our return.
Exceptional experience. Impeccable service. So happy to have a new place to eat/go out in Quebec. Intimate atmosphere, subdued lighting, quality and sought-after products, passionate and warm staff, everything for a successful evening!
Everything was perfect, it was a delight! I strongly cancel and we will definitely return.
Such a great experience. Everything was super fresh, the service was amazing and we ate the best Burrata in town without a doubt!
Nice tapas selection, excellent service, views up and down street with great people watching.
Very good food. Interesting antipasto option
Succulent, dignifiedly presented
Cool concept. Great place to accommodate all of our food restrictions and preferences. Excellent location. Lovely staff. We had a great time. No Nona s tiramisu is a must!!!
Vincent hosting and Nadia impeccable tableside service was a 5 star gastronomical experiece. The menu options exceeded all expectations of fine Italian dining. The Ravioli dishes superceded all the flavors on my pallet. I recommend Va Bene as the finest dinning in the lower city. Finish with a terimuso and lemoncello to complete a perfect meal.Prices surprisingly acceptable.
Superb evening! The antipasto formula is really nice, everything was excellent! The waitress, really charming and friendly, knew her products very well and was able to advise us very well. Intimate restaurant, very well decorated, ambient music, delicious dishes and excellent service. Well done!
Absolutely delicious; wine; the dishes; the atmosphere well done
Had lunch there and we had an antipasto platter. Service was excellent. So was the food. Their focaccia is to die for. The interior of the restaurant is stunning with a nice view on the kitchen too.
What a great find! My husband and I were walking around and found this gem of a place right by the Funiculaire ride. We were able to sit on the terrasse for lunch; had our custom platter of charcuteries with some vino; and ended it with their signature tiramisu (grandmas famous recipe that was passed down). Holy cow, it was THE best tiramisu that Ive ever had! The charcuterie platter was divine - Fried mozzarella balls; freshly baked focaccia; fried polenta; panzanella (tomato salad) etc, ... deliciousss!! Its fun to be able to choose what we wanted on our platter; and with some of their recommendations as we wanted to discover other flavours, the tall platter (like in High Tea) was lovely and beautiful. Needless to say, we went back just before their closing for some more drinks. Thank you, Vincent (manager), for your service, great chat and recommendations on delicious food and vino. Highly recommend :)
Super nice little Italian restaurant in the heart of old Quebec. Extraordinary atmosphere and delicious menu. Dont miss the tiramisu.
Terrible service. We got a table for adults and one kid and they were very aggresive towards my kid who was behaving very normally. Not very polite in general when we asked questions about the menu. We left without ordering. It was not worthy.
A pleasant moment. Delicious lunch, attentive service. Our favorite, tiramisu The small alcoves allow you to feel in a little cocoon. Vegetarian options: For lunch, the Végé sandwich is offered Kid-friendliness: Antipasti allow you to create a mixed plate for a child.
Vincent was a wonderful host and server. Great recommendations! Antipasto creation with buffalo mozzarella! We all split the tiramisu at the end! Amazing! Family friendly!
Nice little restaurant. The concept of Bar Antipasto is very interesting. Impeccable and attentive service. Delicious cocktail and mucktail. Very good dishes. The veal cheek and mortadella ravioli were perfect.
It can be hard to find delicious high quality food in touristy areas. Va Bene is a gem! We went late night Vincent made excellent recommendations for food and wine. We also enjoyed some small batch Italian gin. My risotto with lobster was phenomenal. I hope to have a chance to eat here again.
Stop here especially if you care about your food and drink. Vincent welcomed us at the entrance with a light conversation helping us determine if this place would meet our interests. It did. We had excellent cocktails (private import of Italian gin). We composed our antipasto and it was delicious and elegantly served. The risotto was delicious as well. Our waiter, Vincent, was very keen on any feedback positive or otherwise and was committed to us having an extraordinary Italian food experience in Quebec. With so many choices in this area, I can recommend this one. Vegetarian options: I m pescatarian and had no issues finding great food on the menu.
Zero !! The butler never wanted Lets sit on the terrace Reason . We cant move around!! Well done !! Champion. So I spent my money elsewhere
By far, this is the best restaurant in Old Quebec. The quality of the food, the service, the staff, etc is top notch. You wont be disappointed. During my 5 night stay with my sister, we decided to eat here 3/5 nights. Incredible food!!!! Everything was bursting with flavour with very high quality ingredients. This place is definitely a must and make sure you try Nonnas Tiramisu...her own recipe. The best!!!! Thank you for an amazing experience!
The best food Ive eaten in my life, I went there 2 evenings in a row, plus the prices were really cheap.
The meal was excellent, Vincent, very very kind waiter and host, impeccable service to try, good music a little too noisy
Great restaurant! Excellent service from Vincent and Nadia. I recommend to everyone without hesitation.
We didnt know the restaurant, we walked past it and fell in love with it. Their antipasto principle is well thought out and above all everything was excellent and well explained by the servers. The main meals are excellent and the wine pairing is also excellent. The price is commensurate with the meals served. Thank you for this evening.
Vincent and Nadia provided amazing service. Very friendly and welcoming. And the food was extraordinary! We wish we had found this restaurant earlier in our stay in QC!
Magnificent service, magical atmosphere and exquisite food!
Very good, friendly staff, very pricey however. Not sure I ll go back.
Food is good but way too expensive for the portion sizes - plates with large margins and little content. (Situated in a prime location so many hungry tourists wander in, not knowing about the pricing.) There are much more alcoholic beverages (wine, cocktails, etc) than food. Modern chic interior design, very classy, good service but just not worth the prices.
We went just for antipasto & wine, which were excellent. Sat on the patio. Atmosphere was very enjoyable. Service was good.
The service is truly pitiful. We were in the rain, reading the menu at the entrance, and an employee sprayed us. It was really insulting.
Fantastic service, great food
Beautiful spot and a must have while in the city. Fabulous staff, food and service. Made our first night here very special!
great experience! Vincent was our waiter and he was super nice really made the experience
Attentive service and exceptional quality products
We had a very nice evening. Vincents service was excellent and attentive. He was concerned throughout the meal. The food was tasty and the antipasto formula is very original. The nitratai, the limoncello cream and the tiramisu, WoW. It must also be said that the service of the dishes by the other server was impeccable. Congratulations to the team and much success. Guylaine and Paul
My boyfriend and I arrived around 9:30 p.m. on a Monday evening and were greeted like royalty. The staff are really friendly and competent (thank you Emilie for the excellent service). The beautiful ambiance and the mouth-watering menu. To start we chose the antipasto. The beef cheek was excellent and my partner enjoyed the 16oz strip steak. Even though we ate our fill, we couldnt resist the homemade Tiramisu; its like air. The flavors of everything we ate are sophisticated and well balanced. I cant wait to go back
First time in this rest that according to staff just open 3 months ago. To start the service was great (Nadia) who made recc for a great Rose wine. TheCarpaccio was the best in a long time. We also had the pasta Bolognese and the Papardelle al pesto. Half ration is enough. The Tiramusu was very good but enough for 2-3 people. They greeted us with Limoncello at the end. Thanks very much for a lovely evening.
Excellent experience, I recommend it to everyone. We had an exceptional meeting with Akim and all the staff. THANKS. Isabelle Wind of freshness. Vegetarian options: Tapas, meals to share, We are almost in Italy!
Fabulous restaurant! From the moment we were seated until the last drop of lemoncello this restaurant was a winner. The filet mignon was perfection and everyone else in our party was just as pleased. Top things off with the tiramisu (the chefs grandmothers recipe). We will have another meal here before we leave for home. Dietary restrictions: Accommodated a gluten and dairy allergy.
$16 for a shallow bowl of soup that we waited 40 minutes for. Was very good but would walk out next time. Didnt like seeing the chef handling food with bare hands, then eating and drinking himself in between. Not very professional nor appetizing
Perfect, excellent service.
Perfect evening dinner. The carpaccio was excellent....best ever . The entree of filet mignon and veal cheeks was superb. Ending with a correcto espresso with grappa capped the evening. Thanks to the staff for a memorable time
Another fantastic meal with friendly, attentive service. Highly recommend!
Presentation of excellent dishes, the flavor was not there and deserves to be enhanced for the starter, main course and dessert.
Excellent service from our waiter. Catered to our tastes. Highly recommend the meatball soup and the wild mushroom risotto. Try it!!
All the restaurants were busy on Saturday evening and it was hard to find a place without any reservation! We luckily found this place and enjoyed our meal here! I tried the veal cheek and it was tasty! The pasta was also good as well! The servers were very kind and professional! The beer that they recommended was so good! Haven t seen this beer in Montreal before so it was good to try a new Italian beer! The atmosphere was lovely and wish we had tried the tiramisu! We saw other tables ordering it but we were already too full! It was very difficult to get into a restaurant without a reservation on a Saturday evening, but luckily there was a table available at this restaurant! It was Italian food and everything was light and delicious! There are two portion sizes of pasta, so I was able to avoid leaving any food behind! The service was great and it was great to try a new Italian beer!
Great food. Highly recommend the mushroom risotto and cuttlefish pasta. Tiramisu is superb. Felixe served us and did a wonderful job, even relocated us from a table by the restroom to a window table. No wait time either. Overall it was a very nice experience.
Excellent! Didn t expect this in the middle of touristy center. So nice to have a great charcuterie with amazing service and adequate wine selection. I hope you keep your tables to 2 and 4 max and continue with an elevated style to avoid being inundated with families, noisy children or obnoxious Americans. Lovely small terrace and smiling servers. Merci!
Good service, I had the veal cheek and it was cooked to perfection, super tender. I would have enhanced the taste however, the dish left no flavor in my mouth.
Very good food. Small, cozy restaurant, but in my opinion lacking a bit of atmosphere (a little music, dimming of the lights or something else could be good). We were there during the Québec Table Gourmande event, so very good value for money. $65 for a starter, main course and dessert. However, we were offered the choice between normal water or sparkling water upon our arrival, we asked for more during the meal and we were very surprised to each have $7.50 on our bill for each a bottle of water. The least we could do would be to notify customers in advance. The service was also a bit slow. In short, we have no intention of going back!
The products are quality, the servers are top notch The tiramisu is to die for I recommend this restaurant
To my great regret, I had an extremely noisy evening. Cute setting but restaurant too small. When the waiter asked us if the meal was going well and we indicated that the atmosphere was too noisy, his only response was Unfortunately I cannot handle the festivity of his customers not very professional in my opinion
While passing through Quebec I was told about this Italian restaurant, I went there and I will return, tasty typical food, impeccable service and warm decor. The foie gras risotto is amazing, I recommend it!
Excellent Italian restaurant in the Petit Champlain district. The decor is romantic. The dishes are decadent, we loved it!! The antipasto platters to share are excellent, a nice variety. The pasta flambéed in the parmesan wheel is also excellent.
Share the Antipasto platter with a small sparkling red wine, Lambrusco, allowing you to discover this traditional cuisine in accelerated fashion. Our culinary quest continues with the Rissoto and Ravioli dish. As someone else would say: Completely divine! We finish with the freshness of Tiramisu and an excellent espresso. Impeccable service from Étienne and greatly appreciated visit from the chef. We are definitely going back because there are plenty of dishes to discover.
A very nice discovery in the Petit Champlain district! Weve been looking for a good Italian restaurant for a long time, and we finally found it The tiramisù is excellent (as good as that of the grandmother who taught me to make it), the pasta is cooked al dente, the service is smiling and very pleasant. We will come back with pleasure to taste the antipasto platters!
A REAL Italian restaurant in Quebec! Very pleasant service, the meal was delicious and plentiful, the tiramisu succulent Of Italian origin, I rediscovered the tastes of home, I cant wait to come back to discover other dishes :)
Exceptional.
Best Italian restaurant in Quebec! Great service too.
Restaurant to visit. Beautiful, cozy, very nice atmosphere and excellent meal in every way from starter to dessert. Dont look at the price, the taste is worth the price .
We really had a great experience. Small cozy restaurant perfect for a romantic date (a little less suitable for a family outing because not enough space). The food was excellent and the server was great.
