Food was great as was our server. We also sat near the wood fired oven and could feel the warmth and nice smell from it. Felt very cosy. Finished off the meal with the deep fried ice cream and it was the perfect end to a great meal!
Had dinner here with my son on our last night in QC. We made reservations online for 5pm. We were greeted right away and seated immediately even though we were early. The man hosting was very warm and friendly, as was our server. I speak very little French and that was met with kindness and proficiency in English that was greatly appreciated. Our server was very attentive and helpful. We started with the duck wings and beet salad. The duck wings were very good. As was the beet salad but even though it looks small it’s loaded with beets and best to be shared. My son hates beets so I was on my own! lol! I had a local IPA on tap that was very good and discounted due to happy hour which was a nice surprise. I also had the beef cheek pizza and my son got the Mac n cheese. Both were delicious. Then we shared the crème brûlée and the brownie for dessert. Both were absolutely delicious! But the brownie especially was amazing. We definitely picked a winner for our last night in old town.
I had the best Poutine from this place. i have been in Living in Quebec province for 7 years now and tasted a lot of poutine. And they have the best one. ( With duck liver) First exp in 2019 and cameback 5 years for the same thing and it never disappoints. Highly recommend it when you visit Quebec city.
The pub had good atmosphere in a quaint area of Old Quebec City. Service was good but the food disappointed. We had what was touted as the “best French onion soup in town” but if it was I’d be scared to try the other ones in town. It was salty and over priced ($13). The soup of the day - creamy Tomato was decent ($7). The Brooklyn pepperoni pizza was also disappointing - It was salty and soggy ($22). It’s sad when the best part of your meal is the beer 🍺.
They really do have the best French onion soup in town! We tried the poutine and fish & chips and it was all so good! Also the cocktails were amazing you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu
Really delicious food, arrived at 8:00 and didn’t have to wait much. The beef cheeks were super tender and the veggies went really well with it. The onion soup was great, not too salty and had strong sweet onion taste. Service was very attentive and the outdoor seating was great ambience.
Really amazing, they had a sign saying they have the best onion soup, they sure do. I’ve never tried such a delicious soup, loved it. The pizza was also pretty good, the ambience and kind staff amazing. I would definitely go back. I eat at the terrace which was great I could see the cute umbrella decorations.
This place was a game changer for us. Tried this after a long day of drive and not so good food experience in nearby attractions. But I have to say, worth trying. Went here for dinner, got pizza, nachos and drinks. Just made our day. Their White Pizza was so yummy, we ordered one more right after a bite. Customer service was on point! The ambience was dreamy because of their location. Must try!
Cozy place
Always delicious, we had 2 onion soups, 6 soy duck wings and 1 very good beef cheek pizza, cooked over a wood fire, no mistake, warm welcome and very good service A very nice evening thank you all 9/10
Fire staff.
Very nice! Laurie and MJ are incredibly kind. THANKS!
Impeccable service, we ate very well, the pizza was a treat. Our must-have
If you are sitting even close to the door in winter, keep your coat on :( otherwise the food was excellent! We had 2 pizzas and the duck wings.
Excellent chalet poutine, same for the onion soup! I recommend without hesitation!
The restaurant was cute & tucked away in a cul-de-sac in Lower Town/Petit Champlain district. Would definitely go back on my next trip to Quebec City.
The Beef cheek pizza was incredible I d come back just for this pizza! We also tried the White pizza, which was fantastic as well, but if I return, I ll definitely go for the beef cheek pizza again.
Our go to place for onion soup in Quebec!
We love Q de Sac! The duck wings are amazing and we recommend them to everyone we can. The atmosphere is awesome and when you buy 4 shots of Fireball they light up the bar! Great vibe , great food and great service!
I came in for lunch and enjoyed it a lot! It s a cute little pub bar vibe. It s not a huge amount of seating but I love the atmosphere. One waitress/bartender for the whole shop but it worked out completely fine. We got the burger and chicken sandwich. Both dishes were plenty of food and very tasty. Portions were perfect for the cost and it was cheaper than other places I ve ate at around the area. I would highly recommend! Food was very hot which was another plus. Location is tucked away but find your way and you won t regret!!
The service was excellent and it was such a welcoming place to come in from out of the cold. We really enjoyed the beef tartare and the onion soup
We had a very nice evening. Very friendly waiter.
Very very disappointed with my last visit to their restaurant. We were waiting for a place for 2 when a couple with a baby in a shell was placed before us for some reason (no, they didnt have a reservation). After 25 minutes of waiting, there was a table of 4 free which had been cleaned for 10 minutes, so we asked the hostess if we were going to have this table and she told us no, of a suddenly a group of 4 would arrive later, so we were going to wait for a place at the bar! My partner explained to her that we had been paying attention for 25-30 minutes and that a couple had preceded us with their baby and she replied arrogantly that it was their procedure and that they worked like that. So we left and went to the Borgia Pub a little further away. This is VERY disappointing because every year when we go to Quebec we will visit you, both in winter and in summer on your terrace. The poutine is delicious and so are your nachos! We have always had good service but this arrogant way of telling us suddenly a group of 4 would arrive after 30 minutes of waiting was VERY ordinary. Unfortunately, you will guess that this does not make us want to come back during our next visit to Quebec.
Classic pub atmosphere with delicious wood fire oven pizza! Gotta check it out!
Really great onion soup and duck wings. Would definitely come back. Merci Taylor! Great service
Super friendly staff, excellent food, as usual. A must for our annual weekend in Quebec.
The onion soup, the wood-fired pizza, the service, wow!! Great discovery! Definitely worth trying!
Its excellent to say the least.
Very good restaurant with good service. Not a bad choice. The service was fast.
Warm welcome both in summer and winter. The pizzas cooked over a wood fire are excellent...the onion soup, a delight...among others
The pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven was good. The food was mediocre, but the atmosphere was very nice.
Always good, great service and I love the atmosphere. The poutine with the crispy chicken on top is finger-licking good. It s our little pleasure accompanied by a good beer and a good cocktail.
no complaints, great service, beer . would definitely stop again if ever in town
Vegetarian options: Great choices and cool vibe Food
Delicious mac & cheese and very helpful staff. Just a shame that the pizzas (cooked over a wood fire) are frozen.
Food was excellent. Duck wings were so tasty. Friendly service and nice ambiance
Everything was very good except the food. Both french onion soup and poutines are very salty and not flavourful. dissapointed.
Great pub hidden in a cute street. Today s spicy and crispy chicken poutine is killer! We really enjoyed enjoying this cuisine. The chalets poutine is also good. Super friendly servers. We were well served...we had the opportunity to eat at the bar for 4. Its a change and a good friendly atmosphere
Perfect first experience! Everything was hot and delicious. We will return there, for sure! Parking: Park in a paid parking lot, $15 for 12 p.m. (in front of the museum).
Went in for a quick drink, ended up staying for the afternoon. Loved the vibe... Fantastic food. Cant wait to go back. Food
Friendly and warm place two from my house. Smiling staff. Impeccable food.
Very good! Beautiful atmosphere! I recommend 100%!
Fun atmosphere, excellent service, delicious food.
This place is nice. Found in a cobblestone roads area of Quebec city. The menu is short and simple. I tried the beef cheeks pizza. It was delicious. It was a little on the expensive side. The waitress was extremely proactive and kind, checking up on me in english every here and there. The atmosphere is your typical bar vibe. Conversations all around, good music imo playing, not too loud not too quiet, and some sports playing on the tvs. Would definitely recommend Q De Sac! Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options on the menu Parking: Theres a paid parking lot about 70 meters away. Kid-friendliness: They have kid items in the menu. Wheelchair accessibility: The bar is a little tight quarters for wheelchairs.
The beef cheek pizza was amazing.
We love this restaurant and return there every time we visit Quebec. The food is delicious, the staff friendly and the decor warm. I particularly recommend the duck wings. You wont regret it!
Solid ad! Good beer, very good food! I highly recommend
Extremely good 10/10
I ve been wanting a really good poutine for over a year now and FINALLY I got it. Everything on the menu looked good and as I saw it going past me I honestly wanted everything! The pizza looked amazing and the French onion soup is baked in a wood fire oven!
Beautiful
I am of the mind that every spot has a night off but I cannot help to think that this is how things at this pub. The serving staff were lovely and the drinks cold, that is where it ends. The onion soup (the actual reason we went) was about 5 spoons of liquid with the rest being sodden bread and cheese so dense that I could not chew it, The burger was so chilled that the cheese did not melt and the poutine equally disappointing. I cannot help to think that the team there have great intentions but have dumbed down their focus to accommodate the throngs from the cruise ships. The bill was well over 100 dollars for two soups, a burger, a glass of wine and -two beer.
First, the server/host, made room for us inside, we didnt want outdoor seating but it was very busy. we asked to sit at the bar but those seats were reserved. so she made room for us at a table for four. We were with another couple and all of us ordered something different. I dont like poutine( in the US) but my husband wanted to try it. It was simply the BEST poutine ever. She explained they make the gravy I house over 48 hours. They use the whole beef and bones, cognac and whisky, and chicken livers. The steak Tartar was fresh, great quality and so tender. My Beef Cheeks and potatoes was heavenly. I could cut it with my fork. Beers were great. And even though the menu said child portion was for 11 years and below, the server allowed my friend to order child size portion of poutine anyway. One of the best dinners we have had ever Great atmosphere and vibe Exceptional service. Highlight recommend the poutine and the beef cheeks.
Excellent service in a beautiful atmosphere! For the food on the other hand, it was very ordinary! Onion rings with few onions and lots of dough. Very good Q-de-sac burger but the poutine is tiny and the sauce tastes too much like beer! Grilled chicken pizza was good. Very ordinary onion soup for a restaurant that boasts of having the best in town. Tasteless salmon tartare. We were 4 people and all agreed that for the price, we will go elsewhere next time.
The woodfire pizza and the potato soup were extremely fresh and delicious. The outdoor seating on a sunny afternoon adds to the whole dining experience.
Merci ! Jai passé un agréable moment. Je reviendrais
Onion soup is terrible! The soup was bitter and the bread soaked in it was too soft to eat. It looks good because its covered in cheese, but its flashy.
Very good burger and very pleasant waitress
Of the three poutines I ate during my trip to Quebec, this one is clearly the best (which is also reflected in the price)! The cocktail was also good as well as the mac & cheese (be careful they are a bit spicy) and the service was efficient and pleasant. Vegetarian options: Several dishes marked vegetarian on the menu with a small pictogram, including mac & cheese
We ordered some pasta it was under seasoned and bland, the onion rings were pretty bland too
Great restaurant, beautiful location! We tasted the onion soup, beef cheeks, macaroni and white pizza, everything was perfect. And the service too, thank you :)
Poutine was pretty meh. Great location and ambience, but my experience was pretty lacklustre. Service wasn t great. Definitely caters to tourists. Took awhile for the server to come back to me. As a restaurant, if the food isn t great, there s not really any point.
This place was so quaint and the food was divine!
Great meal, friendly service in an amazing location. Aside from the fantastic food, it was fun to sit on the patio and watch a steady stream of people getting their IG moment beneath the umbrellas.
This was our weakest meal in QC. Nothing bad - but really nothing outstanding. I thought the restaurant location / atmosphere was great. Right under the umbrellas street - and a great outdoor feel. I liked the inside of the restaurant, too - quaint. We both started with the Onion Soup - which we both liked - but didnt think it was the best we ever had. He had the linquine and I had the duck wings. Both were okay - but nothing great or items I would order again. Just average.
We had just 30 minutes to eat and without feeling rushed, we had time to see the menu and get advice, take the time to eat and pay. There is atmosphere, without being too noisy, it was perfect. And OUF, the foie gras poutine, a delight!
We went twice! It was cozy and fun. Staff was very nice. We ordered onion soup, poutine, nachos, and a burger. All were excellent. The venison nachos were surprisingly excellent. Accompanied with a few local beers. A great place for casual fare in the bustling Petit Champlain.
A delicious meal as always!
Very good card! The onion soup is very delicious and the linguine is excellent, tastes very fine, the service is fast and the atmosphere is very pub! It is well located, you can park not far away! I recommend among friends! Vegetarian options: Excellent veggie pasta dish!!
As an english speaking knuckle dragger, I appreciated the charm and sophistication of this pub. From the beautiful patio into the warm, cozy, wood fire heated indoor seating area, this place is done right. As a young lad I spent some times at my Grandparents home, they had a wood burning stove, the warmth coming off of the stove was nothing short of an emotional experience, to this day I crave the dry, cozy heat of a wood fire. Maybe the nostalgia of a wood fire has compromised my ability to write a fair review, but the review is mine to write and the emotional support fire wins. We ate a piece of burger, got the buffalo mac n cheese and the duck wings. The food was adequate, it will not blow your socks off or leave your mouth wet just dreaming of it. (see my review on Gus Gus) I did enjoy the duck wings, they were the perfect texture and crispiness for me. Our server was terrific, she spoke enough english to take good care of us, she was attentive and thoughtful. Possibly my favorite part of the evening was listening to the ladies at the table next to us lamenting their man problems. At one point I heard Screw the house, screw the dog, screw Brandon, Im never going back there. Im not sure who Brandon is or if I should feel bad for him or not, however as a drama enthusiast it was hard to focus on my duck wings and cider beer.
Good music Hockey on the telly Good fries, decent burger Great atmosphere I ll be back
We were here for beer and French onion soup, both were good, but the star of the show was the person working there. She was so friendly and made a few recommendations for beer. This place is on a fun street with lots of traffic, I would recommend it for dinner or just a beer. It s a very casual place.
Sharing as a Philly fan in Quebec during playoff season. Bartender put on game 3. Great little place! Despite the fact they didn t have my preferred wine, I loved it. Except for the hills. But that s not the restaurants fault. Great draft beer. Great pate. Best beet salad north of Philadelphia IMHO. If you re too full or too tired or too drunk after your stay just hop on the funicular. Because of the hills. Also funicular gets funnier the drunk you get. Cheers!
Add this restaurant to your travel plans when in QC. Great, chef inspired dishes that arent geared towards tourists. Authentic Putttine, steak and tuna tartar are some highlights. Make sure you have a reservation during peak times and when outdoor dining no longer is available.
Highly recommend their maple syrup duck!
We got a pizza and soup and it was excellent 10/10 Food
Duck wings and soup were great
We have had a great experience with them! Kid-friendliness: Friendly service!
Highly recommend duck wings with soy sauce, sooooo delicious! Joue de boeuf was okay. Bloody du chalet the weird taste was like sour and spicy
Quaint little restaurant we stumbled upon with welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. Familiar food with their own take on it. Brick oven fired pizzas were awesome. If you find yourself in Old Quebec, dont miss out on this little gem.
Highly recommend white pizza !!!
so good, best food during the trip in Quebec City!
Excellent place Pleasant staff, the food is delicious, the onion soup, the beef cheek and the foie gras. I highly recommend.
My poutine was delicious and her steak tartare was likewise..!
Solid but not someplace I would make it a point to visit again.
Very nice place lower area of Old Quebec city. Has outside setting as well as Pub still in side. Wood fired pizza are very good. Has a happy hour with $6 beer!!
Wonderful place to eat.
This place is incredible! The staff are lovely, the place is warm and the food is delicious I had never had such good onion soup, and the desserts: incredible! the prices are really very reasonable: $80 for two with drinks, main courses and desserts
The food is good even if you have to wait to get a seat. Attentive staff.
great food and really cool waiter, thanks from Switzerland
We saw this restaurant on TripAdvisor. It used to be in lower section of Old Quebec on the Umbrella street . Sitting outside was great with views of the umbrellas. We had pizza which was very tasty. Our waiter was friendly and efficient.
Very good house poutine, but very heavy. The portion was a sizable amount and I could only eat half. Beautiful atmosphere but does get quite busy at peak tourism hours.
Delicious hamburger excellent service I recommend!!
Duck wings were pretty dry and the pizzas were mid-taste. The service was okay overall till the server got really pushy about us not tipping (I usually tip everywhere I go). You don t need to argue about not getting tips with a customer. I wasn t even thinking about wasting my time leaving a review till that happened. 1. Tipping it is not mandatory. 2. I didn t tip because the food was bad. 3. You already get paid to do your job. 4. If you don t get a tip. Get over it and go on with your life. I have also worked as a waiter and didn t always get tips.
Very good address! Mac & cheese and delicious stracciatella pizza And Martin s service is top notch!
We sat outside. Good vibes and good food.
The place is very well located and the overall atmosphere is welcoming. The food, however, is not up to par with the price. The service was average but blocking customers from leaving for not leaving the tip they consider adequate despite explaining that the service was nothing extraordinary and that the food was not to our liking is a limit that should not be tolerated. Tipping is voluntary and varies depending on the diners experience. Showing discontent/disappointment or seeking feedback is totally valid and expected but blocking the exit and demanding a higher tip is unacceptable.
Onion soup and poutine was great!!!
The French onion soup was rated as one of the best. I did not find that to be the case. we also ordered pizza and it was acceptable. okay
Great restaurant with nice atmosphere and very good food. Top notch staff!
Very well located. Excellent and fast service. We ate two pizzas that were correct. Some reviews talk about it being the best in Quebec, but if so, dont eat pizza anywhere else . Despite my comment, it is a site to recommend
Very nice restaurant. Good dishes. Small terrace. Parking: No place on the street
Excellent A service with top flavors and beautiful things to discover
Cozy spot. Staff was friendly and attentive. We had cocktails, poutine and salade just what we needed after much sightseeing
A highly esteemed restaurant with exceptionally courteous and amiable staff, offering exquisite cuisine. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Quebec City.
Absolutely wonderful experience!
Loved the Beef Cheeks; so tender. My 11 year old boy thought the burger was really good.
Lack of seating
Best poutine in old city with duck Foie gras. Deep crispy fries with good rich source.
Hostess has a rude attitude and didnt make us feel welcome at all! Service was so slow that after 30min, no servers has came to the table to give us the menu. We walked right out after.
Beef Pizza, Onion Soup, Tartare (small size), Mango Fizz) An appropriate choice for 3 people to enjoy.
The onion soup is very good, although there is more cheese than onion. The pizza was also good, even if the pesto was a little bitter. Beers at an acceptable price. Kind and attentive service. Wood oven Parking: Paid parking available far from the venue
It s a nice stop for a drink and a bite to eat a little away from the sea of tourists. The food is delicious and you will never have had such a good bloody Caesar in your entire life. The service is good but very slow. Parking: You will have to go along Boulevard Champlain or in a paid parking lot.
Food, service, and drinks all amazing, this place deserves 6 stars
We enjoyed ourselves here so much that we ate here twice. The service was excellent, and the food delicious. Its right in the heart of Old Quebec, and enjoying the ambiance while sitting outside is definitely worth it
Highly recommended!
THE best beef yoke in Quebec! The only thing to change would be the music, its a little too intense.
Great place, I really enjoyed the draft beer there, food was very good. Defenetly a place to visit and spend some nice time.
Service and atmosphere was good, the food was good too
I went to this place cause I had a hankering for nachos and the reviews were great. I had 3 surprises: the waiter didnt ask me once how my food was, once I offered my feedback there was no follow-up and finally, the biggest of them all, is that its possible to screw up nachos!!! Somehow this place managed to mess-up a bulletproof meal. The nachos were at once burned and saggy on the bottom, the chilli was just minced meat with no seasoning . It was so bland and uninspiring that the meal was mainly untouched and I left bewildered.
Came during summer time, was busy when we first arrived. No worries. Was only a short 15 min wait and we were in. Food was decent. Had the poutine, pizza, French onion soup. All were delicious. Only downfall was that it was over an hour from the time we ordered to to the time we recieved our food. Overall decent food experience. Service was a bit slow but would highly recommend.
Good for nothing. The staff is so rude, they picked the food bowl while we were still eating. Also try out the tip for themselves on the card machine without our consent.
Busy place but nice to sit on the patio. Tables are close together. Burger was good but tiny and undersized compared to the bun. Onion rings and Mac & cheese were also good.
Nice place to eat and have a beer. It is located in one of the most beautiful and touristic streets in Quebec.
Fast service, very good food, I recommend
Stopped by for lunch and ordered the white pizza, steak tartare, and a few beers on tap. Both dishes were delicious and the service was friendly too.
A big thank you to the Q-de-Sac team, special mention for our server Thibault! The experience was very pleasant in every way...we will definitely come back! The cocktails are excellent, as are the salmon tartare and the pizzas. Tipou and Titine
Under the umbrellas on Cul de Sac, Quebec, picturesque and fun! We ate on the patio, right at street level ( no autos, just people ). Our burgers and fries were delicious, well priced, and our server was attentive.
Fantastic food, excellent beer. We loved Fish and chips ; pesto pasta ; beef tart tar is amazing .
This was a great find for dinner in beautiful old town Quebec. The ambiance is so beautiful!! Its like dinning in a movie scene picturised in Europe. The service was great considering how long the wait was. We waited for 30 mins but the people coming after us waited longer. The White pizza and chicken pizza were great. I tired french onion soup for first time.. I am not big fan of it but thats my personal taste..My son liked it. because it was so busy the server was taking longer to attend table. I will recommend this restaurant on a beautiful evening.
Amazing location even on a hot day is very nice outside due to the shade from all the buildings around. We got there during happy hour and beer selection was great. Virginia provided an outstanding experience and her Spanish was pretty good!!!
Poutine cheese curds not melted enough. Most were not even partially melted. Onion soup was average. Waiters were nice but very slow service.
We had good service. They have a nice little terrace and the interior is nice. We each had a pint (white beer and a red beer) as well as a good nacho. The beer is good traditional. The nacho was original with deer meat and corn. The atmosphere was okay given the earlier wet weather. The waiting time from ordering, receiving order receipt and final with invoice was acceptable. Parking: No parking possible. Kid-friendliness: Not suitable for children Wheelchair accessibility: Terrace accessible by wheelchair but very restricted
Unfortunately not the best onion soup in town, had way better. The burgers are great. Poutine was also disappointing. The Salmon Tartare was good, but a tiny portion thou. Not worth what the pub is charging. Infant in you walk away from the tourist area. Food is far better, tastier & more easy on the wallet.
Truly excellent Especially the foie gras poutine with a particularly good homemade sauce. Thank you and if you have a minute I would be interested in speaking with you regarding an event. Well done
Just wow very very friendly staff and super good food, deserves a 5 star from me
Excellent place for good food and good atmosphere.
Cute location. The maple soy duck wings were good. The french onion soup was basic. The poutine was average -thin gravy lacking flavour.
Great place for dinner with beer or a cocktail.
Bar atmosphere . Very good poutine
Weve eaten in a few good places in QC and this was my teens favorite place. Pork cheeks, burger, Cesar salad, and macn cheese were all very good. Also great and friendly service. Recommended!
Solid pizza. Courteous and polite staff. I go back there regularly.
Pizza has no taste. Kind of weird in the mouth if you think about it. Very small , one soda, a beer and a 9 pizza 50$ .
Very well located, beautiful photos to take next to the umbrellas. The dishes are delicious and the quantities are sufficient. The service is friendly and fast. I advise.
Poutine Du Chalet (Shacks Poutine) here is the only poutine you ever need to eat! So many flavours and so much balance with every bite...from the perfectly cooked fries, soft and flavourful cheese curds, thick-sliced bacon, fois gras, and rich but not heavy cider sauce gravy. I could eat this poutine every day! The Pizza Blanche (White Pizza) is loaded with delicious and fresh, mushrooms, arugula, truffle oil and cheeses. The Chocolate Brownie dessert was the perfect finishing touch to this wonderful meal. The drinks were tasty too. Located in the lower quarter, the patio seating here is charming, with the views of the descending cobblestone road and the dozens of umbrellas overhead. Despite being very busy on a Wednesday night, we got a table within 20 minutes and the service was very fast and friendly. This is an essential restaurant stop for anyone visiting Vieux Quebec. It may be a good idea to make reservations ahead...it gets very busy!
Wonderful pizza like I havent had in a long time a treat. Dough, cooking, ingredients. The 3 tested are excellent. In addition, very well located and pleasant, and good service.
Elevated bar food, amazing owner and staff. It may be smack in the middle of a tourist trap but we didn t feel trapped at all
Fine place to start your visit to Old Quebec. Great friendly staff. Amazing pizza, it you enjoy flat bread.
Very good restaurant and very pleasant service! Despite the advantageous location, it is not a tourist trap, I recommend it!
Food tastes great. Fish & chips from here will be on my favs list! Great service.
Excellent pub and the onion soup is exceptional!!!
Loved the vibe both inside and outside, lovely staff, and overall good food!!
Duck wings and Caesar Salad are amazing!! Super quick and great service!
Super tasty duck wings with great buffalo sauce - Mega - Caesar salad included -2 beers You dont need anything else to be happy!!!
We ate at this restaurant twice it was so good. I definitely recommend making a reservation and it was worth it. The dishes were amazing and the Boreale beer was the best. If your visiting Quebec you shouldnt miss this restaurant. Pay them a visit and you wont be disappointed!
Beef tartare: average (nothing wrong) like other restaurant Foie gras: amazing!! I guess their mix with maple whisky really makes the taste special. Beef cheek pizza: another amazing dish!! Wood oven pizza special smoky taste and beef is juicy, not over cooked dry like some other places I have been. The goat cheese makes the seasoning at right level so it s not too salty to me I wish I can try more dishes here such as duck wings. Unfortunately already too full after this. Service is good. Waiting time is not long.
Best for dinner with beer During happy hour (4-6?), beer is $6, so I had two pinte drinks. The poutine came out hot with cheese, and the combination with the sauce was very good. The onion soup here is like sundae soup, and the duck wings are a little dry, but the slightly spicy sauce is great.
Cozy little restaurant in Old Quebec. The service is excellent, but the food is a little generic. Not sure why other reviewers are praising it so much.
Excellent restaurant in old Quebec. My first time here and certainly not the last! Beef cheek, excellent!
Great stop for a nice lunch. Wood-fired pizza was tasty, and the staff were so kind. Great outdoor space and cute indoor space.
Excellent service and the food was fine!
Cozy corner pub with amazing food and friendly staff. We got their chicken sandwich and their Mac and cheese and both were flavor bombs! The pasta was cooked to perfection and the chicken and fries were perfectly crispy. But what really set both dishes over the top were their homemade sauces which were bursting with flavors. The combo of their buffalo, ranch and fresh/ perfectly squeaky cheese curds on the sandwich created a taste profile similar to a blue cheese but was sooo much better. Their cheese on the Mac and cheese had a great balance of salty with a bit of buffalo and a hint of sweetness. Just to die for. Also got their colada drink and it was so refreshing on the hot day we were there. So happy we stopped in.
Mac n cheese and White pizza was amazing.
Definitely love the beef cheese pizza, Quebec black beer and the vibes, bartender s friendly to talk.
Super nice atmosphere!
Fairly typical atmosphere of a touristy joint. Staff seemed pretty bored with being there. Zero enthusiasm. Food was OK. My burger was decent. Prices were typical for the area..too much. But again, tourist joint. Its what is expected
Nice little restaurant with good food at a good price.
Best pub in Quebec City.
Horrible management. They do not know what reservation means. Had to wait for 25 minutes past my reservation time. In total, waited for 55 minutes because I went there early. Food was just okay. Another overrated place. (Updated) In response to the restaurant s reply, yes, I was offered a discount of $6.50 and a beer of $9 at the end of my meal, without any proper apology for my order of 3 dishes and 3 pints of beer. I stayed there to reward my waiting with their food, but got disappointed so much. If the restaurant thinks $6.5 discount is enough, for not reserving my table (and they still DO NOT know what reservation means lol), this shows where your level of service and management is.
Best Mac and cheese I have ever eaten. The Soup was delicious and the white pizza as well Recommended dishes
Lovely lunch on the patio. Perfect break from a hot day. Enjoyed the duck wings, fries, nachos and salad. Very touristy area but this place exceeded expectations!
Much too noisy for us. Young people s restaurant
