I came in a bit late (8:30 PM), but I was seated very quickly. The waiter was very friendly and helped me choose a main course, which turned out to be a fantastic choice! The braised short ribs were super tender and very tasty, with smooth mashed potatoes underneath. The sauce was so good and very savory! The creme brulee was excellent. The waiter kept checking on me to make sure my glass was full and if I needed anything. This was my first evening in Quebec City and this restaurant left a great impression on me! An excellent spot for sure!! I would definitely return again!
I hate to rate at only 3 because the food was amazing, server and hostess were very friendly, and they had good music playing at a proper volume…. But the service was very slow. Our drinks and meal arrived promptly but after that we were invisible. It took at least 20 minutes to get a dessert order in, then that took 20 minutes to arrive. It looked like one server was working the entire room. I would offer 5 stars if it were appropriately staffed. 2 more people for the floor.
I went to eat to this restaurant and honestly the food and drinks are very expensive and the quality pretty bad I mean my drink tasted with more alcohol than usual which is good but I felt I was just drinking from the bottle, food disappointing. I’d radder go to good old McDonald’s and get a full meal for the price of a drink here. Waiters are nice.
Try the mushroom soup with chorizo, the braised beef albigot, with oyster mushrooms and asparagus, and the lobster rissoto. All outstanding!! Todos sobresaliente!! Tres magnifique!!
Center of Quebec City Old Town. Very nice place, bit upscale, former bank. Nicely payed out restaurant, outdoor tables, corner lot, near Cathedral and chateau Frontenac . Food picture, top mushroom raviolis, bottom braised beef, Lavender crème brûlée to die for. No parking.
Great atmosphere in this restaurant in a gorgeous part of the old town. The service was also impeccable and the staff were super helpful with our large group. I opted for the mushroom ravioli which had some really nice flavours. One comment from our group was that it seemed like the portion size was a bit on the small side considering the price of the meal. The dessert was absolutely delicious and, while I didn't have it myself, the creme brulee looked awesome.
We stopped here for lunch and it was wonderful. Great service, food and drinks. Our daughters had the braised beef, which they both loved. Tender beef, good veggies and the cheesy mashed potatoes were delicious. I ordered the Garden which was grilled root vegetables with tomatoes, olives and a celeriac puree. It was delicious.
The scallop risotto was delish and our server was a sweetheart, but the kitchen must have been having serious issues because I can’t remember the last time we waited so long for our food. It unfortunately took away from the experience. We were tired after a full day of travel, so overall, it should have been better.
This restaurant is very well located. It is always a delight and with great pleasure that we return to Alphonses every year. The food and service are excellent.
Spectacular food and excellent service!
One of my favorite restaurants from my travels to Québec City. The atmosphere is classy, the food is great, the wine and drink selection is excellent, and the service is fantastic! Dined here twice in one trip (walk-in lunch and then reservation for dinner).
The maple cider was undrinkably sweet. The bread was burnt. Wouldnt recommend it.
Always very good service Douglas the mixologist listens to his customers and prepares me a glass of his raw wine which is always excellent. The braise is excellent! Great work team Thank you for a warm welcome With all the history of the first credit union in Quebec, the decor is wow Vegetarian options: Excellent Brussels sprout salad Without being vegetarian, the plate of board and cold meat and cheese Onion soup Everything is good. THANKS Im starting again with several people Isabelle a breath of fresh air
The restaurant was very lightly occupied and the servers and kitchen staff were more interested in chatting with each other than serving. Also, people were eating in the kitchen I saw one person spitting. I found it ordinary. After a long wait we went to the bar to ask for a replacement water, because the waiter did not return.
A MUST when passing through Quebec
I hope that as many people as possible have this experience of being so well received!!!!
Excellent service, delicious food - Lobster risotto. Wonderful atmosphere. We enjoyed the whole experience
Bad service, takes 30 minutes to get 2 cocktails, 2 beers and a coffee. The employees talk together behind the bar and never come to see if youre good. Thay also prioritize cleaning other tables (that nobody is waiting for), while you wait to get yours clean to sit down. Very unfortunate...
Cold in the restaurant, really slow service. Lots of servers talking but no one came to see us even though the restaurant was half empty. Very very disappointed. We wanted to eat something but we decided to leave because we didnt have any service.
Our server was superb (young, curly brown hair) table with carpet in right corner
We fell in love with their finely crafted dishes. The desserts are excellent and not very sweet. The welcome was very good and very friendly.
Excellent food and playing bachata music makes it the best
Very cozy, well located and excellent food, although the price was still high. All the same, the dishes were excellent, I wont complain, they accomplished the goal of a restaurant. The cocktails were good. I loved the clerks counter at the entrance (because its an old safe). The toilets are nice too, hidden behind doors that say: Owners office, etc. With respect for the building and its anthology, it is inspiring.
great food, good wine, great atmosphere and great service!
The Alphonse restaurant offers a superb setting and a promising cocktail and food menu. However, during our visit, the temperature inside was really cold (17-18) which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. The kitchen service was also slow: we had to wait almost 2 hours to be served, and the second cocktail I ordered never arrived even more. Also, be careful, they dont take American Express, AMEX which is really surprising for a restaurant. A place with great potential, but improvements are needed for the customer experience.
Late booking, more of us arrived that we had booked for, and staff happily made it work! Interesting and delicious menu!
Great service and the meal was excellent!! Great experience!
Disappointed with the Brussels sprouts dish. Very small serving. Lacked imagination. Vegetarian options: Limited
Dietary restrictions: They accommodate allergies Food
Really a great discovery! I was passing through Quebec and came across this place by chance. The food was great, the service was great and even the espresso martini was excellent! Fans know its 50/50 when you order this at a restaurant. The place is also very well located. Honestly, its worth spending in a restaurant like this (when you know that the quality is worth the price)!
The food itself was just okay for the price but the waiter s service was terrible. Just based on that alone I d be giving less than 3 stars. I can t even mention the waiter by name because he never introduced himself. We were taken to our table by the hostess (who was lovely) and the waiter came over in less than 10 minutes and just said are you ready to order? No introduction, no friendly greeting, and he said it in a tone that sounded like he would rather be anywhere else. We said we hadn t decided yet and he said nothing and walked away. At no point during the meal did he ever come back to the table to ask if we needed anything or how the food was. We only saw him to get the bill even though all night we would try to flag him down, he would make eye contact and simply not come to the table. A very strange way to behave when you are presumably expecting to be tipped. Again, the food wasn t spectacular enough to make up for the service from the waiter so I likely wouldn t dine here again.
Came here for cocktails on our trip from Ottawa. It was our first stop and became a daily favourite. Douglas introduced us to one of his own crafted cocktails which exceeded my expectations. He puts so much care into his craft. One of the following evenings, Anthony served us and my husband had the best negroni he has ever had. We loved chatting with the staff, and loved the music and atmosphere. We can t wait to return.
A great culinary experience, it was delicious! Really worth the detour!
Out of the ordinary service from Doug who took us on a journey among the bars high-end products I recommend a place at the bar!
Great Parking: Near Town Hall easy to find
Beautiful place and great food!
Good cooking. Impeccable service
Walked by this place, and it looked amazing. Went for lunch, and the food was amazing. Steak was cooked perfectly, and pastas were fantastic. Great price as well for the quality and quantity. Beautiful ambience and friendly staff. Would highly recommend!
Returned after experiencing an exceptional time in 2022. Food is still perfect but service seemed a bit disorganized and spotty.
We chose this place by chance, to have a cocktail and finally stayed there for dinner after reading the menu. Everything was very good, from the soup of the day, to the super tasty mushroom ravioli dish, well thought out and balanced in flavors, with a nice accompaniment of small vegetables. A good place to have a drink and eat a good meal. The service was perfect, attentive and friendly, Alex and Léa were really adorable, discreet and super efficient. Well done to the whole team! Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is on the same level
Stopped in for a drink and an appetizer, they had a great atmosphere, staff and cocktails. Really enjoyed the cheese board as well!
Incredible experience ! Stylish restaurant, great vibe and delicious food :) Thanks !
We had a Le Financier and a Margarita pre-dinner and Carbonara and Mushroom Ravioli for our main courses. Everything was excellent and the service was also excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend Alphonse, or go again ourselves.
Not the first time at this restaurant Disappointing this time, very ordinary
We had a coffee there. Nice room, slow service. It looks like only one server is working.
Big crush on the burrata; It was a perfect mix of sweet and savory! The hummus was also delicious. I liked the risotto but it wasnt the best Ive eaten although it was still very good! The chef even agreed to make me a side of aligot potatoes
A late night delight, Alphonse served me and my brother some much much needed comfort food. Braised beef on a bed of cheesy mash with veg and gravy. Waitress was excellent and the atmosphere full of charm. One to remember!
Wonderful surprise just walking around our Quebec City. charming atmosphere built in an old bank; the hostess podium is a vintage safe. I used the online app to make a reservation, and it was really worth it. Our food was excellent, well prepared and presented and our waiter was very attentive but not pushy. Nice memory.
Great food and drinks! Very fun atmosphere, with lots of reclaimed items used to furnish the interior. Quite clever and unique.
2nd time while visiting Quebec City. Both times everything was amazing. Tonight we had pork belly for appie, mushroom ravioli and spaghetti. nice presentation and excellent flavours. Crème Brulee for dessert. Food
A very quaint little restaurant in a beautiful location. So many touristy restaurants in Old Quebec have really disappointed us. However this one was excellent. The service was attentive and efficient. The menu a little limited, but everything we had was delicious. The ambiance a little crowded but not too loud. I would absolutely go back and recommend this restaurant. So many tourist traps with horrible food - so watch out. This one is a keeper.
The food, unfortunately, was not so great. Ordered the grilled beef which came out raw on some sides, burned on most side, and overall blend I would suppose that happened due to the late service but still disappointed as it was the 2nd time we came to the place because the 1st time made a good impression on us. Hopefully, this was just a one time occurrence. Otherwise, the service and the ambiance were nice
Amazing meal!!!
Everything was perfect. The service is impeccable. Excellent food!
Food is expensive for the amount served however very tasty and unique. Staff is friendly however there busy with a full restaurant on our occasions so service was a bit slower. Great location on corner for people watching
Very good quality-priced and affordable meal (burrata, beef cheek and steak fries). Possibility of classic cocktail apart from the cocktail menu (sangria). Good, cheerful and fast service. We will definitely come back.
Superb place, welcoming service. Classic dishes with a little twist. I recommend the lobster risotto, carbonara and the chocolate fondant... which is not really melty, but excellent.
This restaurant is perfect, the service & the food! Wow
Go to this restaurant, it s more than perfect!!! Excellent food, ambiance, service!! Thanks to our waitress Rosianne!!
Highly recommended esp if you want a refreshing break from tourist fare in a chic, friendly setting. The menu is smaller, more focused & intentional than many of the area restaurants, because they are not trying to be all things to all people. We had afternoon or late night snacks, lunch, dinner & a nightly cocktail there. We also dined across old & new Quebec City, & we kept coming back to Alphonse. Fine modern fair for a reasonable price compared to some of the surrounding restaurants. Favorites: Brussels sprouts Caesar salad (salade Cesar aux choux Bruxelles), a refreshing take on Caesar salad, & a very welcome break from American-style fried Brussels sprouts, ubiquitous at pretty much any American bar/restaurant these days! The burrata with peaches - fab for burrata fans. Loved their pasta carbonara - I wish I could make mine this creamy. (Be sure to pair it with the Cosimo Taurino Salice Salentino Rosso riserva!) Wine list: balanced, quality essentials. Cocktails: try the Financier (old fashioned adjacent but more fun) or their version of the aviation cocktail (j ai oubliè le nom). Dessert: we had our share of chocolate while out & about so we greatly enjoyed the non-chocolate Framboises et basilic (dense little cake with tantalizing raspberries & basil creme). And the staff were truly lovely too. The location was perfect, close to all Artisans walk, shopping in pretty much every direction & just up the hill the Chateau Frontenac. Hang out & enjoy the fountain show at the plaza across Rue des Jardins.
The shrimp brioche bun was so hard he couldnt cut it. Very disappointed with this first visit to you. Passing hard bread like this is honestly unacceptable! One of the waiters was not very smiling, put some pepper on us and left quickly.
Great service, beautiful ambience, delicious charcuterie board. Parking: I d walk. It s in the center of town. Easy to access as a tourist. Food : 5/5 |
Food was delicious and pleasant staff and great service. Would definitely go again.
Tourist trap! They show the blackboard with the $25 lunch menu but upon returning the menu is not available because it is limited between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., meaning that the times were indicated. But the sign is still there at 1:10 p.m. and the times are not indicated (see photo)
We went to Alphonse yesterday around 5 p.m. The restaurant was far from full and it took over 30 minutes to receive our cocktail (Bloody and Aperol Spritz). The waitress did not come to us to explain the delay or to apologize, we had to ask another (friendlier) person to receive our drinks and order our food. The food was okay, nothing more. Im disappointed, because Alphonse has been on my list of restaurants to try for a long time. I dont recommend.
The patio is nice. The food is good. I would not call it great for the price, but good.
Not as good as previous times. Cold and overcooked pasta.
Very good food, not so with the service.
Had a beautiful lunch on the patio today with my wife. The pork appetizer was out of this world.
Fantastic experience last night. We picked this restaurant on a whim and enjoyed everything about it. Lovely drinks including a special mocktail for myself. Steak and fries were perfection. And what a beautiful location and atmosphere. Perfect way to start our vacation!
amazing staff, delicious food for such a good price!
We had booked online with children but when we arrived we were told that we could only be outside since they do not allow children inside so eating outside can be cold as the temperature without ti wool Kid-friendliness: No
Delicious food and friendly staff. I highly recommend. Top desserts
Beautiful restaurant But one wonders if they have functional kitchens. The tuna tataki in my salad looks like it was cooked in the microwave. The service was friendly but inefficient, several oversights and no apologies. Don t look for chocolate in the chocolate fondant (which they explain to us is actually more of a brownie than a fondant). Ultimately it is a cake that is closer to praline. When reported, I am criticized for having used too much of the kind of crumble next to it... I am a bad customer! To have a drink, yes the scenery is beautiful and well located, to eat well, continue on your way
The presentation of the dishes is a joy to the eyes!! Full of flavor and the staff super friendly and they all work together as a team! I would highly recommend to visit when in town the location is also perfect! Food
One of my favorite restaurants. Always pleasant and good value for money
Nice atmosphere. Food was interesting, fresh, and reasonably priced.
Delicious and great service
A beautiful evening!!!
Fantastic, prompt service -- friendly and accommodating. Great food and drink!
Very good but a little bit expensive compared to other restaurants of the same type in Québec city
Wonderful food and service. We ordered off the lunch menu and had a perfectly proportioned meal. Would go back again in our travels.
A very decent $25 lunch menu: A really basic starter (green salad/vinaigrette or soup) but a dish (pasta in our case) that is very good and very hearty! The service is good but we were surprised to receive our starter and our main course at the same time, which was less pleasant. However we recommend the address
Very nice place! Choice of original and tasty cocktails. Nice wine list.
There were 5 of us eating, it cost more than $250 and no one was happy with a tough steak full of pork and what about the ravioli dishes with 4 ravioli per dish. He wont see me again
Price is not too bad nice smile from people working my customer is happy. That s all I want.
I do not recommend, bad experience. We waited a long time before being served Hair in my plate of pasta No truffle on the plate New plate nothing more, I ate with apprehension. My husbands Walter dish, super hard, inedible bread. No more sausage, frozen fries. Once not twice here!
I loved my two visits and there will be more!
The dish I had was bland (shrimp rolls). The waiter had a condescending attitude. As for the atmosphere, nothing to complain about.
the service was very slow, it seemed like only one person was taking care of the entire restaurant. bread came out after my meal was served. the food was ok, nothing special. I probably wont come back.
Probably the best meal we have had in Canada thus far. The braised beef was out of this world.
There were three of us and we really enjoyed our experience. Young servers who lack a little experience but all kind and full of goodwill. The dishes are copious, tasty and the choice of wine is more than adequate. We will definitely come back.
Food was delicious. Servers were unattentive. The atmosphere was great except could have been air conditioned.
I was disappointed, maybe I expected too much. The first surprise mocktail was not to my taste at all, I asked for another but the taste was very similar, I would have expected a discussion with barista to ensure a satisfactory experience but it did not happen. The entree of artichoke hummus was delicious. The main vegetarian dish jardin tasted good but lacked variation of textures and potentially a vegetarian protein to make it interesting as a dish. Would be more like a side dish. I found the music to be too loud, but maybe I m getting old service was nice.
Vegetarian options: Excellent options for both vegetarians and pescatarians Food
Particularly courteous and available service. Beautiful evening. Will come back.
Very nice waiter but took forever to bring us our bottle of wine. After 1h15 in the restaurant we were still not served (4 people with only a main course, 4 glasses of wine as an aperitif and a bottle of wine with the meal). The order had apparently been lost in the kitchen !! The order was taken again and then finally served. We had to wait another 30 minutes or so after being served to pay our bill. No dessert or coffee with this waiting time even though there was very average traffic at the restaurant and there seemed to us to be a sufficient number of staff. We went in at 5:45 and left at 8 on a Tuesday evening.
Perfect service and quality cuisine!
Arrived early and easily seated on patio. Many tables were served very quickly. It took a long time for our drinks, to order and finally get our meal. We felt forgotten! Meal was quite good, fairly small portions. Nice evening, but service was polite but very slow. Vegetarian options: Cauliflower dish was delicious, but glad I asked for special salad on the side. Pasta dish was different than expected, but enjoyed.
Modern restaurant, very friendly and attentive service. Very tasty food with a small menu. Worth a visit.
I recently ate at Alphonse restaurant and loved the experience. The food is truly excellent, each dish is prepared with care and creativity. The Caesar salad with Brussels sprouts is particularly excellent On the other hand, its a bit expensive. The service is also a little slow, but the servers are always smiling and welcoming, which makes the wait more pleasant. In summary, Alphonse Restaurant is an excellent choice for a quality dining experience, provided you are willing to spend a little more for this type of dish.
Even with the restaurant full, the service was very quick. The girls are very friendly and polite. The food was delicious. I ordered a very good Burrata. I recommend it!!
Excellent risotto but the rice was a little undercooked. Pleasant atmosphere, with terrace and some tables with large sliding windows. Courteous and smiling service. Very good choice of alcohol, including wine.
Great service and the food was amazing Thanks to all ! Food : 5/5
Great ambiance!
Great spot and view. Best Onion Soup. Very good service. Good prices. Beautiful clean space. Went 2 times amd will come again. We like it most in Old Quebec.
Enjoyed some delicious local beers on the beautiful patio. Cool vibe. Great music.
Very good cuisine (thanks to the Chef and his team) / very attentive staff (Thank you very much Léa) / friendly setting and soft retro 1970s music.
Beautiful atmosphere, beautiful and good cocktails
Love it
Vegetarian options: Fantastic Soupe du Jour made of carrots and a Garden dish with celery mash! Highly recommend! Service and ambiance were superb! Food
Delicious food and great service! We got the Scallop risotto, Lunette with truffle, and matchstick fries- all amazing!
Had the carbonara tasted fine the portion was quite small that was a turn off expected a bit more for the price but I guess it s related to the location the decor and concept was cool but I wouldn t go back, the service was minimal.
Some items on the menu were misleading, kitchen was overwhelmed, overcooked the steak. Can t justify the prices of some items (overpriced).
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Alphonse Cusine & Cocktails and I must say, it was an experience to remember. From start to finish, every dish was a masterpiece. To begin, the carrot soup with spices was simply excellent. Its rich flavor and perfect balance of spices left me craving more with every spoonful. Moving on to the main course, both the Garden Plate and the Salmon exceeded my expectations. The freshness of the ingredients in the Garden Plate truly highlighted the chefs commitment to quality, while the Salmon was cooked to perfection, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture that left me speechless. Overall, I would rate my dining experience at Alphonse Cusine & Coctails a perfect 10 out of 10. The combination of flavorful dishes, attentive service, and inviting atmosphere made for an unforgettable meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional culinary experience.
Just perfect Vegetarian options: Brussels salad
One of my favorite restaurants in Quebec
Big disappointment. The meal did not meet our expectations at all. Errors and service expectations Dietary restrictions: N / A Parking: Town Hall
Small portions for the price, few vegetables and overcooked. Our dishes were not all hot. Quality, quantity/price ratio is not there. I will not return there despite the excellent service.
Carbonara pasta was excellent, as was the burrata special. French onion soup, beef croquet, & brussel sprout salad were all average. We were seated by the window with a lovely view of the park. The service was excellent as well.
Amazed by the service, food and overall quality. More that expected! This place is located in an old bank building so they keep the decor and motive in few details only but significant enough. Going to the washroom is a whole experience: located in the vault. Food is very good and doesnt confuse you with lots of choices as it have choices enough to pick up from the one page manu. Vast selection of wines for a multipage menu! Service is friendly and refined, you will feel very well treated all along and princely enough.
We had a delightful dinner. Our server, Andrea, was excellent and knowledgeable about their wines. She was very helpful in making the evening most enjoyable.
A discovery for us. Well done to the whole team. Everything was perfect. Very good food, warm welcome and exceptional service.
Carbonara pasta and Thomas service
The daily menu for $25 was really good and plentiful and the waitress was adorable!
Delicious, pleasant and so friendly!
Overcooked steak and overcooked scallops.
Lovely meal, steak tasty but chewy. Lovely atmosphere and excellent service Wheelchair accessibility: Easy entrance Food : 4/5 |
We loved our experience! The food and drinks were good and the restaurant is very cozy. Special shout out to our waitress Marie-Phillipe!! Great service from him
Excellent little restaurant! Good service, good food. We had a great time with our stay in Quebec. :)
very good restaurant good food and very good service
2nd visit to this restaurant and still as pleasant. The staff on site are dedicated and friendly, the food is excellent. I recommend it to everyone, we will definitely go back
Everything was just okay . The servers seemed like serving you was a burden. The menu was okay - food was okay, not great. The price didn t live up to the quality of food. Location seems to be in the heart of the tourist area.
Food is great drinks are surprisingly good very lovely atom sphere overall a good experience
Delicious food. Bonus point for the risotto and salmon! Helpful and professional staff!
Nice place for dinner. Very friendly staff. Exquisite wine list. Cuisine appreciated but value for money not up to par.
Only speaking for the bar/cocktails as we didn t have any food, but it was truly phenomenal. Absolutely delicious and interesting drinks and wonderful service from the head bartender. She even offered us shots of yellow chartreuse to sample after we expressed an interest in the green variety
Friendly place. Well cooked dishes. Most of the staff pleasant and professional except for one unpleasant waitress at the end of the meal. I CAN T STAND being brought the bill when I didn t ask for it. It s a way of telling me to get out of there, we ve seen enough of you. In addition, the Apple Pay payment did not work and there, I saw annoyance in his eyes. Is it because we are French?
I visited in the evening. I really liked the pretty lighting and the staff kindly guided me. I had Gwanjari Resort and carbonara spaghetti with rose wine and it was delicious. I think I will visit again next time I have the chance.
Excellent!!!
Andréa and Valérie were AMAZING! We will come back
What a great find! Valérie suggested the inspiration of the moment...what a delight! All the dishes were delicious and plentiful. Thanks to Andréa and Valérie for their professionalism, what a good time, we will be back...
Valerie was amazing! Thank you for a charming experience.
Beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff, the cocktails are delicious! We tried the beef cromesquis as a starter and Citrus as a dessert: M-i-a-m! So ! Looking forward to exploring the rest of the menu on our next visit
My favorite thing to do in Quebec is restaurant hopping. I hit this one up for the French onion soup and a good drink. I like how the French onion soup has a touch of sweetness to it. I really like the crisp brighter atmosphere.
Probably my favorite address in Quebec. We got there after a concert at 10:15 p.m. and the kitchen was still open! (the only one of sth perhaps?) The service is very attentive and generous, only good words for our server Sam. The atmosphere is relaxed, the crowd is cool and in good taste. The music is always good and current. The food: We shared dishes. The artichoke hummus with little pita was great. The parmesan fries, very good. Carbonara pasta, tasty and not too fatty. They had good balance! The Brussels sprouts Caesar salad was a little bland and the mayonnaise-based dressing tasted too much like eggs for my taste. The chocolate and pear cake was very well executed Overall, it is a good place for a cocktail, to eat a single dish or to share and where you can find cuisine that is accommodating to allergies and vegetarianism. Dishes generally well executed which combine originality and tradition in a fluid way while keeping everything simple and in good taste
We were a little disappointed by the somewhat impersonal service which could be better. My ordered cosmopolitan was not one (although the cocktail was good). Food quite good but for the price we expected better.
Super friendly staff, exquisite meal, thanks to the bartender for his delicious cocktails
Fine dine restaurant in the city of Quebec
Children not welcome
Great service. Best crispy shoe string fries! Soup de jour w bread was fabulous!
The food was delicious...but cold!
great music white girl with glasses got tasteeee just like the fries
Not recommended! Our only bad experience we had in Quebec City was with this place! The waitresses there are really the problem based on our experience and also others people s experiences in the comments. We went there pretty late to eat something. The place was pretty empty and the waitresses were giving us a weird look while we were waiting to be seated. When one of them came to see us and we asked her for a place for 2 she said oh hmm it s fully booked! It was obvious that is not fully booked so we did not understand what was the issue the only plausible reason is RACISM since we are brown ppl ( we still don t understand).
Yum
Food is very tasty especially that Spaghetti. We werent asked how cooked the steak is, and the waiters seem stretched very thin. But overall its a nice experience.
Great staff, music, food, thank goodness for this restaurant as I had a terrible experience at a restaurant near by the same day. Alphonse saved that day for me!
We made a reservation at 8:30pm, and after showing up hungry with our child, they turned us away, saying they don t take kids after 8pm. They sent emails and texts to confirm the reservation and none of them mentioned anything about not accepting kids after 8pm!
Excellent place, they offer a lunch menu (until 2pm) that consists of soup of the day, drink and main dish. The dishes are very good, tasty and very well cooked. (the meat was at an excellent cooking point) An oasis among so many hamburgers and fast food. Recommended 100%
Great food. Very friendly staff. Great vegetarian options.
Bring your ice skates to go to the toilet, the ground is extremely slippery! Waitress Léa was great.
Food was mostly fine - great charcuterie board, mains (my soup arrived cold though). Spent way too long waiting for food in this restaurant during our only day in Quebec City. Kid-friendliness: We ended up here because of a long lineup at a neighbouring restaurant. Not a great place to bring hungry kids because of very long wait times for food (over an hour).
Very disappointed by the lack of service. It took forever to get drink orders taken, even longer to receive them. When Food finally came we were missing a dish, the server didn t check on us throughout unless we waved at them. The 2nd round of drinks took even long to receive. Unfortunately I would not return nor would I recommend.
Excellent drinks Very good meal Fast service
Very friendly and fast service. The dishes are very good and affordable prices.
Excellent experience here. Cocktails were delightful, I had the De Grandes, very light and refreshing. For dinner, I had the guinea fowl. The dauphine potatoes were a dream. Like a bite sized popover. Our server was kind and very patient (we do not speak French) and offered to take our pictures, Def try this. And I will be back:)
PINTADE GUINEA FOWL a delight
Popular street corner location in the heart of Old Quebec City . Great place for drinks and flavourful food ! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian items on the menu . Very nice hummus plate !
I had the stuffed pasta..it was good, but the portion was small
We had an excellent lunch here just ordering the snacks (olives, spiced nuts and cheese plates) plus the broccoli salad. Everything was delicious and thoroughly enjoyable. The waiter was excellent. We sat inside but the patio was very popular.
Nice place but cider is not beer lol.
Gabriel!!! Gabriel is terrific! We talked with and enjoyed her personality and quick wit! She made our visit to Quebec City fabulous! Service : 5/5
The value for money is not great. The food was still good, but the bill was way too high for what I got. The charcuterie dish is good, but personally the lemon oil for the burrata was not great. I didnt like the wine. The atmosphere is good though, well located.
Great food, very friendly service, totally attentive and really do a good job. Definitely eat here if you are in Quebec!
Original stamp of an old bank, a nice nod to the names of the doors in the toilets, which are also very clean! Cuisine that is out of the ordinary! Lovely staff! Very good value for money I recommend
RUDE wait staff!!! Empty restaurant, long time to order, long time to get the food, waitress was pissed that we didnt want to give her a tip even though the order was take away. Im a great tipper until youre rude and act like Im an inconvenience. Do not expect to leave full.
Excellent gourmet Quebec menu
Food arrived cold:((
Great atmosphere, magnificent decor, the service is courteous (thanks Sam!) and our meals were all excellent.
Unbelievable Experience and Food! My girlfriend and I stayed in Quebec City for 4 nights. We stopped by Alphonse on Night 1 and it was so delicious that we ended up eating here again. The charcuterrie board was to die for. French Onion Soup perfectly executed. The Roasted Salmon with Couscous was divine and perfectly seasoned. The chocolate pear dessert was perfection. Wait staff was also amazing. I will definitely be back when I visit again. I was so thoroughly impressed. Thank you so much for everything!!! YUM!!!
5 stars all round. Exceptional. The vin chaud is the best I have tasted. Risotto: first class. Beef, also. Have been a few times - also enjoyed the sharing platter of cheese and cold meats. Love the way they serve olives warm - sounds a bit strange, but delicious. Strong recommendation if you want a first class meal.
Good meal and excellent cocktail. I loved my plate which was shells without shells. Well located in a former bank in the heart of old Quebec
Fabulous experience and wow the waitress Léa, impeccable! I recommend!
