Nice place to come for brunch. Food was yummy, service was good....overall a nice place to go to for a good meal. They do get very busy so I recommend reservations. Enjoy.
Perfect place for breakfast. Ate here two days in a row now, and each meal was better than the last. Definitely try any dish with the Maple Ham (I had the Benedict one morning and the Chorizo/Maple Ham Omelet the next) We had a wonderful server today named Eliot who really took care of us. He was very attentive and made us feel welcome. Hard to tell if the building is very old, or just made to look that way, but I absolutely loved the exposed stone on the walls. Might go back tomorrow before driving back to NYC.
Very nice place but wont come back. The strawberry flambee was really good, as well as the benedictine. The fries are awesome, all you can eat. The Waffle combo with eggs…well, the waffle was overtoasted and dry. Waffles are supposed to be as soft as pancakes! It got messy trying to cut with a knife so I did not go through it much. Service fell short. We saw our waiter once when we placed our order, then when food was delivered and lastly for the check. There is a cube to be pressed if service is needed, and did 3 times, we needed water and ask again for a side that never made it to the table. No one showed up. Ordered a side canadian bacon, never made it other than in the check. Got my coffee wrong (was a capuccino, and got an espresso sized with foam) I mentioned it when the food was delivered. The answer I got was that I could order another coffee, but it was regular and more milk (at my expense from what I understood) Found it incredible, since lattes are priced the same as smoothies, but the smoothies come in 12+ oz glasses, this “capuccino” was less than 4oz (see the pictures!) Anyhow, the place is nicely decorated, there is a lot of fun vibe. I was planning on going back the next day, but perhaps i’ll try something new.
My partner and I came here for breakfast this morning, and the food was amazing! I’m not usually a person that enjoys potatoes with my breakfast but the potatoes here are SUPER tasty! Whatever seasoning they’re putting on them is amazing! Our server was very friendly and more than accomodating of the modifications that I asked for on my breakfast which was very lovely. The only criticism I have is that the drinks that we ordered (a coffee and a smoothie) took a very long time to come out, and we didn’t get them until after our meals came out. Other than that we had a truly delicious breakfast, and would recommend this place to anyone!
Gave just two stars for the food and atmosphere. Cleanliness and service were bad. We were tourists and this restaurant’s reviews and photos looked good that made us to go there. We were sit at terrace first but the table was covered with dirt and it was little windy that morning. After we made ordered, we asked our server that we actually want to sit inside. Then she made face and brought us inside. I don’t understand why she made face because there was nothing to move from our table to change where we sit. We haven’t even got drinks yet. Later, food came and served by someone else from the kitchen. And we were still not served for the drink we ordered earlier, so we asked the bartender directly for our drinks we were sitting right next to the bar. Food tasted good except side of potatoes. It was not the crunchy type of baked or fried potatoes. It was too spongy like and dried. 3 pieces of fruit was little and visually looked skimpy in a dish. Breakfast taco and egg Benedict were very tasty tho.
Loved this place one of my favorites while visiting Quebec City. I went three times here breakfast/ brunch and two dinners. The chicken and waffles eggs Benedict was delicious. The fish and chips was one of the best and the burger was great. If you are visiting Quebec City go here for breakfast/brunch and dinner. Also the restaurant is on a pretty street.
It's truly amazing! Edit: went back a second time to try something different. It was even better. Huge plates. Excellent service. Great atmosphere. Food was extremely flavorful.
The steak Benedict is out of the world !!! Really a must try ! And u can get the regular coffee for $2+ …. The hamburger is classic too :) the toast is the best one out of toast, waffle and pancake series. The wrap is a hit :) if you like something sour and refreshing, then the classic smoothie / juice is right one for you. Lovely service not to forget !

The service is slow and not very friendly, except for one of the waitresses who was attentive, fast and friendly, but who was not the one who served us. The food, the word that best defines it, is horrible. The fries are rubbery, they taste like they were fried in dirty oil. Tremendous. The waffle had a chewy texture and the cream that came with it was terrible. It stayed on the plate. The bacon was so old that it was a stone, black in color. The only thing edible was the egg, it is difficult to make an egg wrong on the plate. In short, inedible. I dont think Ive ever left a restaurant so disappointed and so hungry. I cant understand how you can have such good opinions.
Edit: I am unfortunately objectively required to update the review because we had a disastrous experience today. We had lunch at 8 with children. The waitresses brought heavy, hot plates and handed them back to the children who naturally dropped them. We had milk shakes all over the table, on our clothes as if nothing had happened... They continued to serve, we had to ask for mopes 3 times, in the end we did what we could with napkins and paper brown toilet. Then they informed us that the establishment would not replace the dishes and would charge for them... The children were crying... It was a disaster and undoubtedly an experience that should never be repeated. For the record and objectivity old opinion: Best lunches in town to date. Offered all day, really affordable and plentiful, with just perfect service. A huge thank you to Eliot for his welcome and his presence (Eliot remained perfect)
First experience at the Petit Chalet rue Maguire. Superb atmosphere, beautiful menu, delicious dishes and our waiter Max Houde the best in town with a smile and first class service. Its a definite return on my next trip to Quebec. Im from Carleton in Gaspésie!!

Very disappointed with the cooking of the potatoes/fries.. before it was a big wow but in the last week, I have been there twice: phew really not tender, overcooked and not good. Really disappointed on the one on the main aisle, too many people coming and going in the entrance, the staff who greeted us were not smiling and we didnt feel welcome... on the other hand, I like the waiters who are very patient! I hope that Maguire and Lebourgneufs are different, better on the taste of potatoes and fries! Parking: I recommend going to Lebourgneuf for parking

I visited this restaurant for lunch with friends. We arrive there and the host takes us to our table. The decorations are very beautiful, and it stays in the chalet and hunting atmosphere. On the other hand, in terms of service, it was largely mediocre. It took about 25 minutes before they came to answer us or bring glasses of water. When we got there we had already made our meal choices. Once ordered the waitress did not bring our coffees and just 30 seconds before receiving our meals we received the coffees. The wait time for meals was good, although there were few people and no customers on the second floor (it was 2 p.m.). The portions were good, but on the other hand the eggs Benedict, none were runny. It was hot. In short, you shouldnt expect great service, its fast cuisine from the Grande Allée.

If you go to Le Petit Chalet, prepare to meet Eliot, a waiter so gracious he could serve on skates and you wouldnt even notice. This guy moves with the fluidity of a ballet dancer, but with military precision a lunch ninja of sorts. Top service.

We had a reservation for four people, but were allocated a table for three. It was impossible to get another table, despite the availability of several tables for four people. However, we had arrived early for our reservation. We had to add a chair in the passage, which made the space very narrow and awkward: we were hanging on every passage. Despite all the service from the employees and the food was very pleasant and delicious

I really liked the eggs benedict with ham, although the cheddar cheese for me, in these, doesnt really have its place. Other than that everything is excellent.

Please note that the price of coffee/tea is not included in the price of meals. The experience at the Petit Chalet Grande Allée is quite different from that of Maguire! I preferred the one on the main aisle. In addition, our waitress, Maude, was really friendly and cheerful!

I would have liked to be able to give an opinion on the food but I was never served! We arrived, we didnt have a menu, so we looked online but couldnt order. The restaurant was almost empty but the two waitresses (blonde) did not bother to serve us, one placed forks on the tables and the other ate at the bar. Additionally, leftover fries and cutlery were under our table. After 30 minutes we left!

Yesterday morning 9:15 am, November 21, 24. Very poor service. We waited a good 10 minutes before the waitress came to take our order. I ordered 1 egg bacon. I received 1 egg and bacon. No potatoes. No toast, no fruit and above all no smile. $20 plus tip that I shouldnt have given. I dont recommend this place. There is much better elsewhere.
