The best south east Asian restaurant in Québec! The stir-frying woks, paired with strong fire, and the reaction between super hot oil and chilis, together create the soul smell and flavor of Asian cuisines. It made me feel so impressed after more than one year without this kind of food. Riz basilic is magnificent! But next time I go there I'll ask them to put much more chillies 🤣
Good tasty asian stir fried dishes, only outdoor seatings
Dined here for our first night in Quebec! Our server was extremely friendly and the food was excellent! One of the members of our party absolutely cannot have MSG and the server along with the cook made sure to craft a meal without this preservative. We received many recommendations for local things to do in the city and felt so at home at this restaurant! Later on our trip, we heard a local shop employee refer to this restaurant as the “best Thai in Quebec.” We’d definitely recommend!
The menu is extremely misleading. Literally nothing is even vegetarian. Every sauce they use has either fish sauce, oyster sauce, or both. The server offered to have the kitchen throw something together which was very kind of her. What I was served had no flavor other than black pepper. Really strange.
Best Pad Thai I've ever had! Beautiful flavors and very fresh food. Make sure to get both the peanut sauce and chili oil. They also have amazing vegan and vegetarian options - just ask!
Cute little Cambodian spot on St. Joseph Est in Quebec City. Overall, food was good and flavourful though a little on the sweet side for my tastes.
The food is average, I didn't know there was a to-go menu and a dine-in menu. It is kind of misleading, as both dine-in and to-go menus were on the door entrance to the restaurant. The service was great, and the waiter tried his best to make sure we were comfortable and good with the food. The atmosphere was hip and great as well.
I ordered some food, overall I like the food. I ordered for takeout because the place to dine-in is only 2 small tables, so not enough space to eat there. From the counter you can oversee the big kitchen, it's really nice. I ordered Le Bocco, which is really good, I give 5 stars for this, the sauce and the beef taste perfect, then I ordered Le Khmer with vermicelli, this one is good, I laso ordered the tom yum soup. The soup is ok, not too sour. The last one is the chicken "kfc", not really my favorite because for me the batter is too thick, and it was not like a regular fried chicken batter.
Is there something higher than 5 stars??? Great place for take out and lovely front desk cashier.
Delicious food, original cocktails. I was able to eat gluten-free there.
Thank you takeout restaurant in town. Even with the big price increase in recent years, its worth it - at a lower frequency.
They updated their menu and have very limited vegan options. I was not able to eat there.
Excellent cuisine! We enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. Being of Cambodian origin, I fully recommend this restaurant whose authentic flavors took us on a journey to Asia. The atmosphere is warm, we had a great time.
Very nice place, good atmosphere. But in terms of cuisine its neither Cambodian nor Thai, in fact a very Americanized Asian restaurant. I expected a minimum of authenticity in the flavors given the concept, too bad.
Really expensive for what is it.
Best chickn Edit 1y later : I havent stopped thinking about the chicken. I ate 2 plates of it. I broke my foot and I would have walked to get this chicken Food : 5/5
If you have dietary restrictions like vegetarian or vegan avoid at all costs this establishment is not aware of any of the dietary restrictions or ingredients that go into a meal. We went there and ordered one vegetarian papaya salad we were served with the pork salad accidentally ate ended up eating that a little bit after which we were provided our papaya salad which was supposed to be vegetarian but was full of shrimp based upon requesting the stuff to about the dietary restrictions and markings on the menuwe left and we didn t have a good experience at all
Extremely disappointed with the whole experience. Ordered one vegetarian papaya salad, was first given a pork salad by accident and then given papaya salad with shrimp paste. They claimed that it was vegetarian with shrimp when we told them clearly before hand. Staff were rude and had to pay for it as well. Vegetarian options: NOT VEGETARIAN! Careless mistakes giving pork and claimed shrimp as vegetarian.
I am vegetarian and ordered a vegetarian dish but it included fish sauce and shrimp paste. Its not a vegetarian dish, its pescatarian. Do not recommend.
Don t come here expecting authentic Thai food, it s only slightly better than Thai Express. Dishes were too sweet for our liking.
Pad Singapore and extremely good Thai soup
Super cute little terrace, nice menu, tasty, lots of vegetables. Good value for money. Ginger chicken is great.
Honestly a very good surprise! We were taken by friends so I didnt particularly have any expectations, but everything was very good. Apparently lacking a little spice for those of us who wanted it (even at the strongest, but I dont eat very spicy and for me it was perfect), but apart from that the plates were distributed empty. Special mention to the KFC chicken, excellent. The terrace is very nice in summer (I didnt go in because I dont know if there are seats inside or what).
One of the waitresses had a condescending attitude.
Great little restaurant where you eat very well. Fresh products. Little space. With a few tables outside. Very nice staff!
We ordered last night for 3 people. And out of the 3 we were disappointed. General tao dry chicken. Shrimp pad thai with only 2-3 shrimp. Same thing for the stir-fry, just a few pieces of chicken. Very disappointed.
Always good!
Beautiful terrace. Appetizing and varied dishes. Fast service (big team in the kitchen). They are going to open a second branch and it is not surprising. I recommend.
I saw their menu online and went their for lunch knowing that they have multiple vegetarian options and as soon as I was ready to order I was informed that all their vegetarian dishes contained CHICKEN BROTH, Bone broth in since when these items are considered vegetarian??? Why can t you put that as a note somewhere on your menu? Vegetarians/Vegans be careful
I ordered delivery. The dish was okay, that said I was really disappointed with the lack of meat and rice in my dish. Besides, the dish was really small. I find it really miserly considering the price I paid! I would not return to this restaurant.
Amazingly tasty food. The only food that I truly enjoyed!
Always excellent, especially the Thai soup! A classic
Pad Thai shrimp chicken curry was excellent The vegetable imperial rolls are really delicious, good cooking, thank you. On the other hand, General Thaos chicken was much overcooked, very small and dry pieces, very hard.
Usually very good food, at least last summer! This evening my partner received a much overcooked and dry Tao, however the waitress went to see the manager and he agreed to make it again. When I received my pad thai, it was very mushy, far from a stir-fry. Tofu half times not sautéed at all and thick sauce, I said nothing but unable to eat it. The waitress who was visibly overwhelmed came to see us for the joint flax tao and we told her that it was adequate this time but she saw that my plate was full. I told her that my pad thai was mushy, not sautéed at all and the tofu was kind of not cooked, she simply replied: ahh well that s how it is! So Im disappointed, I would have liked her to change it for me without me having to ask her, or for me to have her apologize for the plate being obviously not edible and Im not a picky eater. the life. I have been to this restaurant several times over the years but this time could be my last unfortunately!
My favourite place to order delivery from in the city. Never disappoints! Reasonable price for fresh, delicious food and its always prepared quickly.
We were served very well, the food was delicious. I recommend the chowfun as well as the padtai. We will definitely come back!!
Ordered a Thai soup and a Thai chicken dish at home...my soup just broth and vermicelli no chicken or shrimp really cheap and my Thai dish the vegetables were not fresh it looked like old soft carrots and had a bitter taste, the green beans also tasted old... it seems that they are sparing on quality and quantity given inflation... except that the bill remains very salty $56 Very disappointed because before it was very good and this is my 2nd order where I am dissatisfied so its over..thank you!$$$$ $$$
Awesome service! We took a chance and went without reservations and they took us in at the bar. The barman was super chill and not intrusive in his interactions..just a damn good barman. Made us some special drinks he created on the spot and they did the job! Our food was fantastic...decent portions but not heavy. Fresh ingredients and very tasty sauces. Food may have taken some time to come but if your on a date your not looking at your watch. It was very reasonnable wait considering it was Friday 7pm (March 8th). Lots of seating in dining room...nice decor and ambiance...it was surprisingly not loud either..one can maintain a conversation very easily. Waiters checked up on us from time to timeand kept topping up our water. Really great experience overall so i highly recommend! Keep up the nice work gang! The wife and i will be back at our next Quebec trip! Ps: you do need to find parking in nearby streets but its the case for any business you visit in the area. This place is woth the trouble.
Really a great discovery in a nice area of Quebec. Tasty value for money, nothing to say! The portions are generous!
Delicious
Especially to bring, plan. Otherwise excellent!!!
The restaurant has 2 section : one for dine in and one for takeout. The takeout menu is much cheaper. There is only 1 table at takeout counter. The other one is more luxury-Restaurant combined bar. Space is small so highly recommended for booking advance. Pad Thai tastes great . However stir fry beef with rice is extremely salty. The sauce is so salty that we have to order many rice bowls to finish it. Recommended to order takeout only.
Still excellent
The place is quite modern, the atmosphere is relaxed and the food is quite good but the waitress is too intrusive.
I have ordered through Doordash a few times and each time I have been more than satisfied. The dishes are delicious!
It only has 2 tables for dine in.
Amazing food.. Their Thai basil rice is yum.. they even accommodated to make chicken for us instead of Shrimp.. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone
Amazing food! Definitely a go to when visiting QC
Even in a storm they are open :)
We knew this restaurant through delivery. Always excellent. We have just tried the experience there: phenomenal!!! We were at the bar. The bartender was great!
Best General Tao Ive eaten.
Just fantastic. Always fresh and delicious.
Delicious!!!
Excellent, everything is perfect, the scents are incredible
We were a group of around fifteen people, and the atmosphere was really great! The dishes are copious and of great taste quality! However, pay attention to the proportion of dishes, if you have a small appetite I do not recommend having a starter AND a main course...
Enjoyed every bit of it! Everything was fresh and how an authentic Thai food would taste like. Pad Thai was my favourite with added chilli paste! Food portion and price is fair.
Generous plate, tasty and spicy. Our servers were polite and cared about our dining experience. I will go back.
Nice little outdoor we sat ,yummy food my teenager daughter usually doesn t finish her meal but she finished the noodles she ordered
Wow wow wow thank you thank you thank you! So tasty, courteous and friendly service, a lovely moment with my friend on the terrace. You will see us again soon for sure!!
Quality of food and service which has remained impeccable since we started frequenting this place almost 10 years ago. Their general tao chicken is a must and remains available on demand, at least during our last visit in June 2023!
Food: -Spring rolls were okay. Mostly tasted noodles and sesame oil. Also, its one spring roll cut into two, not two whole spring rolls. -Tomyum soup was good -Khmer was good. May be too spicy for some, so be careful. -Loc Lac was okay. Everything was good except for the beef cut. The beef was cooked rare/med rare, but it was so hard to chew/swallow. The basil rice was good, and the tomato onion thing tasted like Pico de gallo. Service: Servers were great, and my water cup was never empty. The kitchen was a little slow, and we probably sat there for over 30 minutes waiting for our meals. Food presentation 10/10
We really loved this take out meal in QC. We had wanted to sit and enjoy in the court yard but unfortunately when we came (early June) all the chairs were backed up and so we took it to go. The padThai was delcious, the curry was perfectly spiced and the KFC wings were really unique. Thai soup was also very delcious. I think they have a lot of great options here! Definitely pricey for take out but quality food
Like any good Frenchman I could complain like all the rednecks who come to settle in Quebec for the squirrels and say that the rice is not cooked like in Paris in the 17th arrondissement of bobo but there everything is fine the tao is the best of the city and its not for lack of having tried all the brands. AND for once the DoorDash photo looks exactly like what s in the box they did it!!! On the other hand, last time it was overcooked...
Good service! Satisfactory portions, I took the Sãang and my only downside is that it would have been necessary to add more to the sweet sauce, but it was nevertheless delicious!!
fast, efficient and friendly service. generous and tasty portion Vegetarian options: several vegetarian dishes available
Excellent food, affordable price and a more than warm summer atmosphere! A must in Quebec! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian spring rolls and choice of tofu to replace meat for several dishes. Dietary restrictions: Lots of options for people with gluten intolerance
Delicious food, fast and very kind service. Flavor and attractive cuisine
Super nice place to eat Cambodian cuisine. It was delicious! Food
excellent food & excellent value for money
Vegetarian/vegan people BE AWARE!! They have items marked as vegetarian on the menu but they have fish sauce. Severs are clueless and thing vegetarians eat fish. The service is also very slow and you don t have your water refilled.
Fair value for money, but I know of better ones
One of the best Asian restaurants in town
Great food, good service, great atmosphere.
The pad thai and general tao are to die for.
The food was great, the waitress was very welcoming and the atmosphere was cozy. I highly recommend dining-in at night. (Warning: outside only) The prices are really reasonable too, which is very welcomed in QC. Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian options.
Good Asian food if you ve never had Asian food before. Luc lac beef was very chewy and overcooked. It came in a strange soupy sauce with cold tomatoes on the side. Not close to authentic luc lac at all, which is Vietnamese and not Cambodian. The Tao chicken is just sesame chicken and also not Cambodian or Thai. It was oddly too sweet. Honestly Panda Express is better. They prioritize takeout orders so if you want your food in less than an hour, do takeout and don t sit at a table. There were five tables outside with people, and we watched 30-40 takeout orders complete before we got our food. Many of those orders were from walk ups. We didn t even get a refill of water and the only status update from the waiter was that the food is coming soon. It did not come soon.
It was a pleasant experience. The person who greeted us at the table was friendly. It tastes good! I presume some use of Glutamate which makes certain colors pleasant and brings out tastes but I can only presume
4 guests, 4 different dishes and 4 very satisfied customers thank you for a great experience, we will be back very soon
Parking was a bit tricky. The foods are awesome especially Amok!
I have ordered more than fifteen times from Bati and the quality of the food always impresses me. The dishes are excellent, the food is fresh and quality and I have always had very good service. A 10/10 every time. I highly recommend.
I ordered on doordash. After 2 hours I havent received my order I decide to call them. The person at reception told me that they were going to call doordash and reheat my food that had been sitting on the counter for 1h30...and that it was normal for my food to be cold as it was winter....it had to be done that I ask for a supervisor to make sure they redo the entire order. The food finally arrived 20 minutes later. Doordash offered $5 credit....poor service and more than average food...
I took the wok. The food was good. Nothing more to say.
Ordered take out. The order came faster than anticipated and was delicious. We ordered the pad Thai and general Tao chicken to our hotel on a trip to Quebec city on our travel day. It was a great choice. Would definitely recommend to anyone going through Quebec city. Great area of the city too. St Roch has lots to offer by way of food and window shopping!
Without a doubt the best stir-fry Ive ever eaten, everything tasted so good! Possibly my new favorite restaurant in Quebec, Ill have to try other dishes to confirm. Note: it was a delivery, I was not inside the restaurant
Best Pad Thai I ate in Quebec I will return and recommend without hesitation.
Our first restaurant just arrived on the famous rue St Joseph. Initially attracted by the neighboring doorstep... we let ourselves be seduced by the menu and were not disappointed. If the cuisine is called street food, the presentation and service are completely different!
I ordered Saolin beef and an aloe juice. For $23 and dust and I m hungrier than before I ordered. I do not recommend
Very tasty but a bit pricy for portion.
Just Woww all the flavors are crazy I love it!
One of our favorite restaurants in the city, always very good!
Wow. Real Cambodian street food.
The dishes on the menu are absolutely delicious
Excellent place! Ask for the Symbai!
Food was excellent and service was prompt. This place would not necessarily be easy to find unless you are staying in the area. Would definitely come again.
Always delicious!
The pad Thai and the tao were very tasty. The size are big, good for sharing. The terrace is nice for the summer. The service was a bit slow but friendly. I will be back.
Good discovery, very friendly staff and the dishes are good
I had the Phnom Penh soup and imperial rolls delivered, and it was very good! The portions are very generous.
Delicious, affordable and friendly
Really good! Thai soups, WOW!
We ordered papaya salad and corn fritter as well as general tao and pad singapore. Everything was exquisite. We will come back to try the rest of the menu! Yum!!!
Always a great place to eat.
Excellent dishes. Pleasant atmosphere.
Good dishes with taste, hearty
The Khmer was reasonably tasty.
I just had a pad Singapore and it was delicious!!! Glad I gave them a second chance. I just had the Tao (chicken) and the Pad Thai. The first one was delicious, the second awful. There was not a hint of spiciness in it, nor flavour. Only one shrimp and tofu (or was it chicken, or both). It was so tasteless that I had to use some Sriracha sauce and give up on trying to guess what kind of protein the rectangular white stuff was.
We ate very well there. Nice.
What an experience!!! Great service from Cam!
Good food but server was way to overworked handling all the tables on a busy night
Belle.places, lots of menus Very clean toilets
Very nice discovery, the best Wonton soup I have eaten. Its a place to discover
We came here for the 4.6 review, however, extremely disappointed after order four dishes and none of them is tasting. The flavour is rough and only can taste sweet and salty, too much sugar and salt added in the dishes. First time to give one star on google, memorable!
Always a delight and a very pleasant little terrace. Even take-out is possible. To discover if you havent already!
Great food quality ! Highly recommend
T good and fast Terrace still available in October
Very good meal, hearty and delicious
Cool
Quality restaurant, the food took us on a journey. Quantity and quantity at the rendezvous.
Beautiful terrace in summer
The cocktails are super good. We tried all three skewers and several starters we liked. Service a little long (for drinks and not picking up plates between services) but friendly staff.
Very good meal, I particularly recommend the Canadian meat
Its always excellent and fast.
Excellent!
I loved my dining experience!!! The padthai is the best I have eaten, it really reminds us of what you can find on the street in Thailand!!!
Super good and excellent service
I ordered singapore, not really what I know, but the dish was very good
Delicious
The best Tao in town, the saoli is just as good. I would go back without a problem :)
For real Thai flavors this is the place in the city base!
We went to the cantine (restaurant is close during lunch). Very nice and fast service. The food is good and original. Would recommend if you are looking for some original food. Most of the dishes are spicy with a lot of tastes. Not a lot of tables and no baby chairs though, but overall it was a very good moment !
Very pleasant. Beautiful terrace.
Delicious and great service!!
THE discovery of our weekend in Quebec! The signature dish The Mekong was oh so delicious and the green sangria, a little marvel! I highly recommend stopping there during your next visit to the Nouvo St-Roch area!
Remarkable experience! I really liked the Cambodian banh mi style sandwich. It was super good!
If I could have given 6 stars I would have! It was downright delicious, tasty! And super good service. If this restaurant were in Montreal, I would go often!!
Good thai restaurant however it has significant opportunity for improvement. Let me share the pros and cons. Pros: appetizers (super delicious) and the vibe is amazing for drinks and dinner Cons: service (very slow), the waitress had forgotten one of our apps and it came after we finished the main, the pad thai had a sea/fishy smell and I needed hot sauce to help eat it. Overall - needs to improve service and pad thai
My husband and I visited this place on our trip to Quebec city. The place is good, ambience is really nice but there service is very poor. We ordered the Mekong soup, vegetable imperial roll, corn balls and Pad Thai. There apps were amazing especially the corn balls but their pad thai tasted only of fish sauce. Our experience was really spoiled after our waitress forgot our order altogether. We had placed the order of all four dishes the moment we sat down. We got soup and the corn balls after 10 mins but the waitress totally forgot about us. After waiting for 20 mins we told her that we haven t received the rest of our order and after 10 mins she comes and gets our pad thai. We thought that the imperial rolls need some more time. After 10 mins we asked her about the imperial rolls, she tells us that she totally forgot about it and hadn t placed the order for it. Anyway after 5 mins we received the rolls and we paid and left. I don t think we will be going here ever again. No doubt the food is good but their service is really bad.
Just so good!!
High-end cuisine! Succulent!!
Very nice discovery; ultra cool terrace for a drink, but also to taste a recipe as promising as poutine: corn balls: a pure original treat. We will come back to try the traditional recipes. Ill tell you about it again! Dont miss this.
Good service, nice plate but tasted the bass of woke..
Excellent cuisine! Everything is prepared with care and great fresh food!
Incredible food! I would highly recommend ordering one of their Thai soups and signature plates as they are packed with flavour
Food is fresh and hot and the service is super friendly and quick
Best pad thai in town!
Amazing food and worth the visit!
Great meal! The beef was excellent and the Koral sauce to die for! An experience to repeat
Very good and tasty. I recommend.
We had the last available table on September 1st. As soon as we were seated, a waiting line started. Our dinner accompanied by a beer was very pleasant. A Pad Thai for me and a beef Kaïrong for my companion. Thanks to the grocery store for this great discovery in Quebec. @ next summer
Decent place to go grab some asian food. Pad thai was better than I expected and non-alcohol cocktails are available. Staff was superb !
Good food, beautiful plates and good service all in a revamped neighborhood
Delicious introduction to Cambodian food! Friendly staff and nice outdoor patio (in summer)!
rt
I go there regularly to pick up deliveries. Sometimes they are in the juice but thats normal, when its good. The staff is very friendly, don t forget to leave them a tip. ;)
Excellent place, exceptional cuisine for a take out. Discovered by chance while leaving our apartment on St-Joseph on the way to buy a pizza. The general tao dish really as it should be in its crispness and temperature. My partner loved her chicken dish called Cajou . Everything was super hot and tasty. We took with vermicelli ($1 extra each), it was not worth it (not the price, the occasion). The vermicelli, all glued together, is not cooked in any way, the rice would have been a better option in our opinion. A constructive note: when asking if we wanted utensils, we asked for chopsticks. No baguette according to the cashier, this would be out of stock due to the pandemic . Frankly, if baguettes were still in Montreals Chinatown last week and this week, they must be on St-Joseph Street in Quebec... an Asian restaurant without baguettes... a first for us in North America and in Europe PS I got the comment from management! We specified wooden chopsticks for our rented apartment, refusing the plastic utensils offered. The fishtail response from management for baguettes in the name of the canteen this type of reaction is disappointing. The offer to contact them the next day, lets be serious. A notice to the person at the checkout, approximately 35-40 years old, slightly overweight Asian type, would be sufficient.
Excellent tom yum soup, well prepared rice noodles and chopsticks included! Super fast service and beautiful terrace!
Extremely poor service. Ordered my food and it took over 90 minutes to get the food. I thought fast food was suppose to be fast? They have children working at the counter checking the orders. Child labor? I would never come back to such an establishment.
According to my understanding they are in take out mode only I placed my order online (payment included) and collected everything a few minutes later My tofu tom yum soup was really delicious I will return there on the terrace next summer
I had no idea what to expect when we first got here. But the food does not disappoint. We stayed in Quebec City for 4 days, and revisited Bati Cantine again and again during our stay. Do check them out!
I swear, the food is incredibly delicious, I really recommend it
Amazing food
Ordered the general tao and cashew chicken... The portions have shrunk DRAMATICALLY in recent months. Tastes great, but not worth the price anymore. :(
Very enthusiastic about the first visits. However, we were disappointed with the last take-out meal. We informed management who told us that there would be checks.
Starting off with the good, the ambience was nice and staff was attentive and friendly. As a stereotypical Asian, I still ate all my food to get my moneys worth... however, I wish we skipped dinner here or rather it was only worth less than half the price we paid. As someone of Asian descent who has both visited Thailand and Cambodia in the past, this isnt authentic and flavorful cuisine to me. Perhaps it was adapted to fit the taste buds of locals who like their food prepared this way but in my opinion, the dishes were too sweet or overpowered by fish sauce. There also wasnt enough lemongrass when the dish specifically mentioned it. I should have known it wasnt authentic when there was celery in the Tom Yum soup. Also the shrimp were disappointingly small and too few. The entrées tasted like what you can make at home if you go to the store and buy canned curries that are pre-made and add coconut milk and throw in vegetables to boil. This restaurant might be the best Asian place nearby Quebec but I recommend going somewhere else if you have high expectations for this type of cuisine or else you will think the reviews are misleading.
One of my favorite suppliers to have delivered to me. Everything is good!
Excellent address for those who appreciate Asian food, small flaw, linked to the success of this restaurant, the dish is not prepared in the same way depending on the chef who prepares it, the condiments are not at all dosed in the same way , which sometimes results in dishes that are sometimes little or very spicy or even little or very salty.
