Delicious food, great service, beautiful place! Strongly suggest!
We dined here for my birthday and it was disappointing unfortunately. Although I did receive a card for the occasion which I think is a cute and personal touch. We were promptly greeted by friendly staff and were seated. We ordered our drinks and upon receiving them ordered the tasting menu. At one point we were informed that our meals would not be fired until we were halfway through our drinks. At this point we did ask for it to get started but that was not that case. As we worked our way through our drinks we were then told that now our meals would be fired. As someone who is a non drinker 99% of the time I felt a pressure to quickly drink my beverage as we wanted our meal to begin. We did not receive our first dish until nearly an hour and the entire meal was about 2.5 hours. I would say the service was friendly but mixed and the dishes were fine but would have benefited from further finesse (more seasoning, acid, fat, and consistent cooking). The duck in particular was incredibly tough and difficult to cut through. I will say that the dessert was incredible and that dish was the stand out star. We specifically booked the 5:30 reservation as the website indicates that the tasting menu is $30 less per person at this time but that was not reflected on our bill. We chose to not mention that and simply pay and leave. Our tip was also less than our general standard as we felt that’s what the quality of the food justified. As huge foodies and individuals who have worked in the industry for several years the price point unfortunately did not match the quality of the product. Overall friendly staff, mediocre food. Unique ideas and concept but could use improvement.
We had an absolutely fabulous meal last night at Chez Muffy. The atmosphere was warm and cozy with a gas fire in the center of the room. The restaurant was immaculate and the decor inviting. The staff was professional and friendly. Thanks go to Sam, Guilhem and Anaïs for seating and serving us! We had the Tasting Menu and the choices were delicious. The food was beautifully presented. We loved each course. The duck was especially good. All in all, this was a wonderful evening. This is a restaurant well worth visiting. Thank you to the chef!
By far the best dining experience I had in Quebec City. Amazing staff and very welcoming. We ordered the tasting menu with wine pairing 2 people for a total of about $500 USD which is less then another restaurant we tried. You could tell there was passion and art involved and over all it was a great experience. I highly recommend.
Nice restaurant with great food and the service was excellent. The prices point is on the higher end but it’s nice for a special occasion. There’s a tasting menu which looked really awesome but we opted for the a la carte menu which was just the right amount of food for us. We ordered the scallops and mussels as the appetizers and the halibut foie gras (for 2) and the monk fish - all were on point and delicious!
The warm, happy feeling begins even before you reach the restaurant. The lobby of Auberge Saint-Antoine Hotel is beautifully done up. You walk through that lobby and then a short stone tunnel to get to Chez Muffy. Breakfast here is one of the best I have ever had. So many freshly prepared options. Delicious food, presented beautifully, in an amazing restaurant setting. The place has cozy, cheerful feeling and the food is excellent. Service is great. Highly recommend visiting this restaurant for breakfast if you are in Quebec City. We enjoyed it so much today that we plan to go back there for breakfast tomorrow.
Celebrated our 20th anniversary here. Friendly staff, had a little card prepared for us- nice gesture. Service was attentive but stiff. Ambience is nice but restaurant was empty. Impressive selection of wine. 2 couples were finishing up their meal and then we were alone. Now about food...I think this is by far the worst fine dining experience I had in my life. I never actually experienced anything like that before and I am not a newbie to that kind of culinary experience. Very artful presentation of food but none of the flavors or textures worked. There was not a single dish from appetizer to desert that I could say was even close to good or enjoyable. The best part of expensive dinner was sourdough bread and butter. I am dumbfounded by many glorious reviews and by the experience itself. I included some pictures of artfully presented but highly disappointing food. Anniversary dinner fiasco. Do not recommend.
Cozy and rich in history, Chez Muffy hosted us for breakfast. The continental buffet for starters, with fresh juice and specialty coffees greeted us. We then had just the right portion of our main breakfast dish, with a fire by our side. The decor was tasteful and comfortable. The service was gracious and attentive. I could only imagine how the evening feast would be. We will try on our next visit.
We enjoyed a lovely evening at Chez Muffy. The staff, location, decoration and design were all top notch. We had a stunning view of the river from our table. Our food was incredible! The serving sizes are perfect and feature colourful, fresh ingredients. Food
Beautiful cabin like restaurant,s.Food was terrible , is more like a tourist trap. We paid for the tasting menu thinking we could get great value as l origine or even tanière different mix of flavors . But we got 2 dumplings 1 scallop and was small piece of fish tasting too fishy . They told us the drinks would take over 25 minute to prepare persuading us to order the wine pairing which we did not accept so we had only a glass of wine , then She brought cocktails very fast to the table next to us , that s was disappointing , and had a negative impact . Dessert was the only good thing . Not worth the 550 dlls for for fishy unflavored meal . Only one glass of wine for 2 ppl ..
Tasting menu with food/wine pairing. Fabulous atmosphere and decor; absolutely impeccable service. flavors, textures and presentation of the dishes = excellent; however, the portions were a little lacking in generosity. If someone presents me with a lobster claw, I would like to have the whole claw... 5 courses at $160/person, we expect quality of course but also a certain quantity. As for the food/wine pairings, most were very successful; nevertheless, 5 wines at $95/person, a little more generosity would have been appreciated on that side too. Suggestion: add $20 and pour a little more into the glass please! Im willing to pay but I also want my moneys worth. All in all, a lovely evening in an absolutely sensational setting.
Chez Muffy is a lovely, cozy place for a delicious dining experience. The service, ambiance, music selection, and food were all top notch.
Delicious unique food experience. Lovely atmosphere
Fun and delicious Dietary restrictions: Very much took at heart my allergies and altered appropriately my selection. Food : 5/5 |
Quebec inns often offer tasting menus. That of the Auberge Saint-Antoine, through its restaurant Chez Muffy, is exceptional. Researched and balanced at the same time! Outstanding service and beautiful romantic atmosphere. We loved our experience!
We were visiting from the US. I had read wonderful things about this restaurant. The food was overpriced and mediocre the service was par, for the price I expected better. The atmosphere is pretentious.
My wife and I just finished our lunch at Muffys. The food (brunch) was excellent, the service courteous and attentive and the atmosphere very pleasant (the place is magnificent, and you can eat in peace). We highly recommend, we will definitely come back!
We had the tasting menu (5 courses) with wines selected by the restaurant to accompany each dish. It was a delight. The quantity of food was reasonable. The tuna, duck and lobster were cooked perfectly. The wines mainly came from France. The service was very pleasant, the servers accessible and pleasant. The restaurants occupancy rate was not unpleasant. There was a nice selection of strong alcohols as digestives. The dining room leaves the impression of a rich, well-maintained New France building, with a gas fireplace that does not give off an excessive amount of heat, stone walls and a solid wood roof and joists. It is particularly interesting to also observe the objects discovered during the archaeological excavations under the building exposed in certain places.
Such a cool place. The ambiance is great, food is delicious, I highly recommend!
Phenomenal! Absolutely incredible food, service and ambience. I would give 6 stars if I could. Perfect evening and very romantic Food
We have been to Chez Muffy each time we visit Quebec City and have enjoyed the meal and the experience. But it seems last night experience has siginificantly deteriorated in food quality. We had the a la carte and the portions were much smaller and over priced. The food was much lacking in taste and in the blander side. We had high expectations and very much looked forward to the great meal we had in the past. But very disappointing. Way more expensive and way less appetizing. However kudos to the waitress, the service was good and as expected.
The atmosphere, service and food was outstanding. I would highly recommend Chez Muffy to anyone desiring a great experience.
We were pleasantly surprised by the originality and quality of the dishes presented. Well done
The excellent restaurant at Auberge Saint-Antoine, certified Relais & Châteaux. If you like the farm to fork concept.
What a beautiful evening! We ordered the tasting menu and everything was spot on delicious! Highly recommend!!!
Wonderful food, setting and service. Would highly recommend!
The wait staff were very nice and helpful. Continental breakfast with a nice selection of foods and cheeses.
We tried the tasting menu and every course was absolutely delicious. Lovely venue too.
Always great food, excellent wine selection and one of my favorite restaurants for a business meal or even better to celebrate a special event with loved ones.
Impeccable food and service but the price is very high so it is not good value for money
Kid-friendliness: Oui les enfants etaient comme des rois Food
Our Tasting Menu was Absolutely Delicious!
A treat for all the senses
great service with good beer. But that s it. Will visit again if it s a bar.
Not truly impressed with the food at Chez Muffy. Lobster tail appetizer was undercooked, the black rice is not complimentary to it, and the coconut cream sauce was too strong. The halibut and foie gras Pithivieres had so many flavors going on that you couldn t taste the halibut. Its pastry dough itself was not flaky; it was difficult to cut through it. Mushroom duxelles and pate flavors overwhelm the meal.. Less may be more. Staff and service is fine. But for a special dinner, we wish we would have went somewhere less expensive for better food. No complaints given at time of service, as it would have been too late for anything to happen and we were flying out.
I love Chez Muffy breakfast service. Every little detail is impeccable. The setting in the dining area invites you to relax and enjoy the delicious options and details such as heart shaped sugar cubes for your coffee or tea, a shot of green juice, fresh squeezed orange juice, artisanal bread, organic strawberries and the best eggs I ve ever tasted make for an enjoyable meal. The service at Chez Muffy is great and the everyone from the lovely hostess Naomi, and the service from Hugo, Rosalie the manager and others is welcoming. It s a great spot for your dining pleasure. Be sure to go Bon Appetite
It was incredible. Will be coming back!
Staff at Chez Muffy were great. Food on the other hand was not. It didnt matter whether it was the dinner we had or breakfast. Almost everything was totally underwhelming, lacking flavour - even a fried egg was tasteless. Flavour combinations didnt accentuate the dishes either. For example for dinner we had lobster starter and prime rib. Worst lobster and prime rib Ive had in a very long time. The night before we had a lobster dish at a different restaurant in Tadoussac, QC that was FANTASTIC. The calibre of the food coming out of the kitchen was not on par with the food weve had at a number of other Relais & Chateaux properties in Canada and abroad. Quite a big disappoi.
We had breakfast after a stay in the hotel. Had to wait 25 mins to get seated, without even being acknowledged. All the waiters were running around like headless chickens, it was painful to watch. When we complained, they said someone called in sick which in these days, and for a restaurant of the caliber, is no longer an excuse.
Wonderful experience, great food.
Wonderful food, wonderful service, spectacular setting. Vegetarian options: from their garden Food : 5/5 |
The St Antoine Inn is a remarkable building. MUFFY is part of it. The fireplace, in the center of the restaurant, contributes to a warm atmosphere upon entry. The reception follows well. Nathalie, our young French waitress, was super friendly. As for the food, each dish is a work of art. And the palate LOVES it. Marie-Louise Perreault. Boucherville.
Amazing food, incredible service
This was by far our favorite place to go in Quebec City. The breakfast was amazing. We had the buffet, which included a choice of entre. I had a berry, quinoa, maple bowl that was out of this world, fresh grapefruit juice, cucumber juice, iced coffee, and some amazing fruit from the buffet. My husband had a buckwheat pancake, poached egg and salmon thing it was beautiful. Vegetarian options: so much juice, fruit and veggies
Amazing! The pictures speak for themselves.
wonderful tasting menu using locally grown produce. Staff is professional & friendly, which makes for a unique experience. we will come back to taste another season..
Good food but a solid scam for wine pairing...the glasses are so empty that its better to buy a good bottle of wine. It seems like an instruction to the waiter to serve the smallest quantity of wine...it destroys the magic of a beautiful evening. Damage.
One of the best restaurants in Quebec without a doubt. Warm and calm atmosphere. Very friendly waiters. Fabulous food. Almost molecular cuisine. It was absolutely excellent.
Delicious breakfast in upscale rustic environment. Our breakfasts were included in our hotel package at Auberge Saint Antoine (same location).
Charming infrastructure, but I think we caught Muffy on an unusually bad day. Sunday brunch at 10am: 85% of tables full, host busing tables and drying glassware, cold offerings completely ravaged and most (but not all) items refreshed at 10:50am, and we were given a cocktail napkin as they had run out of cloth napkins. My reservation for two? Didnt matter; we were seated as we arrived after parties without a reservation. Coffee? yes. Minutes pass before delivery. Cream? Of course! Yet more minutes pass before delivery. Our waitress gave us menus, then took them away although she hadnt taken our order. Confusion resolved and food came out at 11:15pm. Good scrambled eggs, wonderful sausage, inedible burned bacon. Staff was very polite, pleasant, courteous, apologetic but never recovered from whatever overwhelmed them that morning. All restaurants have a bad day, but this experience perhaps more disappointing given that it is a Relais & Chateau property serving a CA$93 brunch for two.
The tasting menu is a must-do!
We enjoyed our dining experience at Chez Muffy! The tasting menu was very interesting! We loved the description of the food and the wine pairings! The lobster claw was succulent, our favorite! Very small downside... the cider with the foie gras terrine was not our favorite. Otherwise impeccable, warm and courteous service, great promotion of local products and local producers! Great discovery! Psittt the tasting brunch is definitely worth trying, we loved it and we are going to repeat the experience! Nice attention for my birthday, thank you to the whole team!!!
Amazing food.
Superb ambience and fantastic service and delicious food Attention to detail was over the top! Loved canopies of fiddlehead Food
Extraordinary culinary journey, perfect cuisine, perfect service. Lots of kindness during the meal.
Rather formal place with creative and tasty food. The place also uses very fresh, in-season ingredients. The a la carte menu is on a limited side but we enjoyed all of our selections. The only downside is the price, which is a tad too expensive and explains primarily older clientele.
Very nice experience at the Restaurant Chez Muffy at the Auberge Saint-Antoine. The restaurant is beautiful and charming. The plates are very well presented, the service is top notch and the Chef even came to see us during the service. The Maître dhôtel suggested some very good wines that went very well with the dishes we had. If youre looking for a fine local Quebec cuisine restaurant, you wont go wrong Chez Muffy! I highly recommend! Vegetarian options: Vegetarians welcome Dietary restrictions: The menu is modified if you have dietary restrictions Parking: Valet parking on site or nearby parking for a fee.
Very ordinary and very expensive
Me and my girlfriend had an extraordinary experience last night. We took the culinary tasting which makes up a 5 course with the Pigeon as the main meal. I didnt think Id say this one day but I loved the pigeon. Without a doubt the starter which was also exceptional, duck foie gras and snow lobster. Both starters with side dishes that make it completely unforgettable to taste. And then dessert, funny way of saying that but it was the icing on the Sunday. With olive oil ice cream and meringue. Finally, we ate THE BEST MEAL OF OUR LIFE! And the service was simply perfect
Its very rare that I can say I give 5/5 for everything but for this place, thats the case by far. The service is incredible from start to finish, from the welcome to the departure, its remarkable, you can feel good and welcomed there. 5/5 for the service, all courteous and smiling, attentive to needs, asking the right questions at the right times. Makes sure to inform you of any questions. The atmosphere is extraordinary, everything is neat and very, very clean, not too many people when we arrived which is perfect, but I can understand that people flock in quickly! We went in around 5:45 p.m. and didnt leave until 8:50 p.m., which was PERFECT considering we took the 5-course culinary tasting. The kitchen is clean and a large window on the side of the entrance shows it to you, which is, once again, an asset. The dishes in the tasting are all very balanced in terms of flavors and out of the ordinary, its a stroke of genius, each and every one as better as the others, good portion also given that you have to take the time to taste , if you want a good and beautiful dining experience, this is the place. The five plates were incredible, its worth the cost and the detour (we drove 3 hours to get there and I plan to do it several more times given the perfect experience we had). I would like to thank Kévin who welcomed us and supported us throughout the evening as well as another man whose name I don t remember, who served us throughout the evening! Your work is great! And your team fully deserves the 5 stars. Thanks for the experience!
Unforgettable experience, excellence in every way. I recommend this restaurant to all lovers of fine cuisine.
I made this assessment 4 years ago and it is more relevant than ever after this Easter brunch. Always pleasant experience. We recommend. Really great Sunday brunch: quality and service. Courteous and attentive staff, abundant buffet choice, relaxed atmosphere.
Magnificent place where you are treated with great care and where you eat like kings! Excellent cuisine with local vegetables, fine and tasty meals. Truly impeccable service! We loved celebrating our first wedding anniversary there.
Ridiculously and shamefully expensive for what we were served! Too bad at $350 for 2, and buy a snack on the way out!
Just got an email that my reservation two weeks from now is cancelled because they decided to be closed on Tuesday. Left me stranded after planning my trip to QC. À la poubelle.
A meal to share, sole with gnocchi on the side, without gnocchi, for $125, its too expensive. The service was very long and lacked explanations. We arrived at 8pm for our reservation, and no one showed up at our table until 8:20pm, really ordinary for the price!
Incredible experience, thank you to the whole team for this unforgettable moment. Flavors, service and 5-star atmosphere
Very good but not exquisite food for this price point, but definitely excellent for Canada and Quebec City. Im also rating like I would a top tier restaurant, given the very high-end hotel the restaurant is attached to, where I stay regularly. Some dishes are perfect and standouts, other dishes are not. You will notice the difference between them. Note that the desserts are mostly set to Quebec/American sweetness level, so caution if youre a European who prefers the lower end of the brix scale. The team tries to do a lot of experimental things but some dont work as well as others, hence some of the tastiness variance. Overall, well worth a visit, especially if youre staying at the hotel. Service generally very good, but some nights (and breakfasts) can be a little crowded and the service suffers a bit. The hotel breakfast (both the chef plates and the buffet) is well worth the upcharge. Only marginally more than a breakfast outside and the ingredients, service, and atmosphere are vastly better. Image with placemat is before breakfast, other images are the prix fix dinner with lamb as a main Dietary restrictions: They ask. Wheelchair accessibility: Elevator inside, but you may need assistance from the curb.
Everything was perfect, the price is a outtle steep, but totally wort it
Lovely atmosphere, comfortable tables and seating. Service was fantastic, wine pairing was spot on. I highly recommend Chez Muffy, I would definitely come back again.
Go there without hesitation! The atmosphere is warm, the service was outstanding and fast. We didnt lack anything! The food is excellent, well balanced in flavors and textures. Favorite guaranteed! Emma-Rose, Jonathan and Marilyn
Tasting menu was delicious along with very interesting wine pairing. Staff was amazing! A real treat and very memorable meal.
Very nice
Excellent ambiance, service, decor, wine list, cocktails and most importantly food! Highly recommend. An extremely fabulous evening out.
Take a break on the way and be sure to try the hot chocolate here
Terrible restaurant to many staff but hunting down coffee and water: 80 $ for 2 people ridiculous and I had to return my omelet it was a hard hockey puck with a handful of greens and a single patato croquette. . Fruit on buffet were caned , toast was half burnt and dry , I ve never seen such an underwhelming breakfast; so much better last year at least it was good
I only saw your posts, and they look interesting.
My favorite restaurant! I love this place. Mrs. Muffy is so nice. The service is very attentive and attentive to all our needs.
I was charmed by the look of the restaurant, which is both rustic and elegant. We had brunch and the menu is made up of classic dishes, but very well executed. We both ordered the eggs benedict served with smoked salmon. Fresh squeezed juices as well as coffee were offered with our delicious dishes. The only downside is that the portion is considerably small and my husband was left hungry. The service and staff are exceptional.
Very disappointing experience. The service and quality of the meal really did not live up to our billing.
Absolutely amazing. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They are clearly passionate about their food and service.
The place is incredibly charming and its team is both dedicated and friendly! We had dinner at 8 p.m. on a Saturday, and the atmosphere remained cozy. Very pleasant to chat and have a good time. Obviously a delight for its dishes, food and wine pairing, and the quantities are adequate. Lots of explanations at the service. Don t hesitate to ask the staff questions because sometimes things go quickly!! I loved the experience and I passionately recommend this brand.
We stayed at the hotel and had such a delicious brunch, one of the best! Everything from bread to jam were home made. We loved it
Breakfast is $35 CAD and includes unlimited tea, coffee and juice. You can order one of the 5 dishes in the menu and the buffet is included. The buffet has meats, yogurts, pâtisserie, fruits and cheese.
If your looking for excellent service, fine dining, amazing food, then look no further. This was the best food I have ever eaten in my life. Flavor, texture, portions. I left 100% satisfied and wanted to eat here my entire Quebec trip. It is definitely pricey, but worth it in my opinion. If you appreciate food, its artwork, and the people who dedicate thier lives to make such food, then this is the place for you. Take your time through the many courses, enjoy!
Quaint, lovely little restaurant. Stayed in the hotel and came for brunch twice. You can order a brunch item and have access to the mini Buffet. The brunch options were excellent - highly recommend their eggs Benedict (and I m not usually a fan of hollandaise sauce). They also have homemade jams and a delicious salted caramel which I now wish I bought to take home with me. And really delicious leek and Cheeze Pastry that had a perfect crust. The dining room itself is cute - it has a charming, fireplace and ambience of an upscale lodge.
An experience of a lifetime! Pricey, but well worth it as the dining experience lasts the whole night. The staff is detailed and kind as they explain exactly what every dish is and how it is prepared. The menu is also frequently refreshed as to adapt to whichever foods are in season. Truly an amazing experience that you can thoroughly enjoy throughout the night as the different courses are spaced out to really taste all the different flavors. I frequent a lot of restaurants, including many high-end ones and I can say without a doubt Chez Muffy is ranked as my #1 spot. We also stayed at the Auberge Sainte-Antoine which allowed us to also enjoy breakfast which is prepared fresh daily.
A must to try open at 17h30
We had prix fixe menu to celebrate my girlfriend s birthday. The occasion was noted to the restaurant ahead however they forgot about it with zero mention or gesture towards us. Food quality was fine overall , but the dessert sorbet course was brought out half melted yet they decided it was ok to serve and even pointed out it was melting. At the price point they charge this is inappropriate
Amazing dining experience!! Very attentive to your food preferences and allergies! I m vegetarian and I felt my meal was well thought out and with purpose, not just risotto. My husband love his meal too! Can t wait to dine here again! Food
We had an amazing dinner for our 25th wedding anniversary. We have been to some really nice places over the years, and this was by far the most elegant and delectable. The service and presentation weemre phenomenal.
Truly an exceptional moment in an extraordinary setting with local history.
After a first visit in 2022, enthusiastic return to one of the best gourmet restaurants in Quebec. An impeccable table, refined and up-to-date cuisine, beautiful highlighting of local products and refined food/wine pairing. I can only recommend!! Thank you again and congratulations to the whole kitchen team looking forward to seeing you again in 2024!
Very nice breakfast in a truly atypical setting. Quality service, a house that proudly displays its Relais et Châteaux logo and it is fully justified! To be tested without the slightest reservation...
Superb hotel - restaurant that I had the chance to discover on a guided tour by the excellent Simon; who told me the fascinating history of the establishment and its artifacts. Looking forward to testing this beautiful place for my next stay in Quebec! Thank you Simon for this discovery!!
No thank you. Super over priced and not the best service for the money. You are paying for the experience. We arrived at 645pm with our children, ordered right away, and waited a full hour for our first course. The restaurant was not nearly full and given it s a fixed menu and there is one salad choice and one other starter perhaps this could have been brought out a bit faster given our two little children. The salad was a nice little piece of edible art. My wife had the salmon tartare and really enjoyed it. In the meantime, it took at least 20+ minutes for my cocktail to arrive which I could swear was just a glass of orange juice with a shot in it, orange mechanique? Nothing special at all. The seabass entree baked in bread was quite enjoyable and a nice table side presentation. The children s salmon was good but the vegetables were all completely undercooked. Dessert was inspired but not anything out of this world. The service was very stuffy and left quite a lot to be desired, especially given the high price point. Additionally, I had made note on two occasions prior to arrival this was a very special birthday for my wife and the extent of their consideration was a tiny little piece of chocolate bark with happy birthday written on it. It is most certainly a very beautiful restaurant on the inside. Overall though, not for us. Note: the breakfast experience was much more enjoyable and the service was a lot more pleasant.
Excellent selection of bar food. Innovative drinks. Great bartenders and servers. Lots of artifacts from the digs that were done when the hotel was built adorn the walls. Steps down to the bar area. No lift or ramp. Parking: On the edge of the pedestrian area. Very hard to find parking.
The duck meat is really delicious, with crispy skin and tender meat. The foie gras costs an extra 20 yuan and it smells like wine. dislike. French food is so delicious...I kept scrolling on my phone while eating.
We had a really nice breakfast at Chez Muffy! The staff gave us great recommendations and we really like the pancake and breakfast stuffed croissant we ordered. The staff are friendly, atmosphere is cozy. Would recommend this place to anyone.
Hostess would not get off her cell phone and acted completely inconvenienced by the presence of my family and I. We also asked if they served breakfast and she said no, only for hotel guests - but I m not sure if that is accurate based on the website. She then ignored a family member who was asking a question (twice) - I do believe it was not intentional but rather that the hostess was distracted by looking at her phone. We walked in and my family wanted to make a reservation because the restaurant looked very nice, but after the interaction decided to walk out. Was shocked that this service was a part of Relais and Chateaux
Kevin, Samirah,Alex and Arthur gave us the best experience for a very special occasion. Well done chez muffy on your fantastic service, food, and ambiance. Vegetarian options: Amazing options I would love to try on my next visit Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating. Asked if we had any allergies
Very nice place, very expensive. You have to go there once in your life.
This was our first trip to Quebec City. We stayed at the remarkable Auberge Saint Antoine and Cafe Muffy is their lead restaurant. What a delight. Breakfast each morning was lavish and superb. Sitting by the fireplace in a timber & stone interior eating such beautifully prepared food was a treat. It was only matched by the evening meal we had on our final night. Our meal included the Québec venaison in clay crust because why not? And if not now, then when? We could have made better wine selections, but that is the smallest of hiccups in a truly great evening. You will not be disappointed.
I enjoyed the Christmas brunch at Chez Muffy. Absolutely delicious and filling! Excellent service. A little expensive, but the quality is there! The place is very warm.
We had breakfast and dinner here-both are 5-star. Especially dinner. Beautiful way of serving food, amazing service, pleasant ambience. We were dining with kids and advised the team we were pressed on time (1 hour) and they were able to accommodate when it actually takes full 2 hours for the experience. Highly recommended! Dont hesitate to book!
This was one of the best meals Ive ever had in my life and the service by Olivier and Kevin made it even more wonderful. The ambiance of this historical building was unexpected, warm and charming! The food was incredible and the wine pairing was perfect. There is absolutely nothing to criticize and that is rare for me to say.
Service, food and ambiance was the level of a Michelin star rated restaurant. Highly recommend this place but make sure to make reservations.
The service is impeccable, a magnificent menu awaits you, with surprising flavors and simply magnificent dishes.
I spent a very pleasant and leisurely evening, the fire of the stove was pleasantly warm, and I finally truly relaxed from the pressure of work. The foie gras, seafood pasta and desserts were all very delicious. The wine the waiter chose to go with the dessert was great. It echoed the pistachio dessert very well and left a fragrant aroma on the lips and teeth.
I ate breakfast and dinner in Chez Muffy and thoroughly enjoyed both meals. Its a cosy dining room and the food served appealed both aesthetically and in its flavour. The wine pairings at dinner went beyond the obvious and helped make for an enjoyable evening. The outstanding service was very much part of the experience.
We had breakfast and dinner here during our stay at the hotel. The dinner was fine, we liked the food we ordered - the scallop amuse bouche, the egg and lamb tartare appetizers, the duck entree, and both desserts. Delivery of the food was a little bit slow though, and water refill could be more frequent. Personally I enjoyed the breakfast more, both food and service. The smoked salmon and duck waffle taste great, and the sandglass timer for the tea was an interesting plus.
The food at chez muddy deserves 5 stars, but because of the interactions we had with the waiter, I can only give it 2 stars. We travelled from Toronto and this is our last dinner at Quebec. The food and ambience here are both great. When we sat down, we were very excited to have this experience. However, the waiter rushed us to finish our cocktails and offered a cocktail to take pictures with, or maybe a glass of wine as well as a comment you can take photos with it but you can t drink it . I was a bit flabbergasted and said we re fine. The comment seems a bit mean-spirited and is uncalled for. Our trip has been met with hospitality with almost every encounter, so this really threw us off the track. We hope this interaction doesn t have anything to do with racism and contempt, but we really can tell as he also reminded us that the last set of utensils are precious and want us to cherish them . We have been to plenty of fine dining restaurants and have never been and should not have been treated this way. We hope Chez Muffy can work on this in the future and provide as great service as the food and reputation.
Exemplary service by the sommelier and waiter, highly gourmet food. The food and wine pairings were refined and excellent. We loved our experience.
Excellent experience. Great staff, good food. We walked out stuffed and happy. We had set menu dinner, 4 courses, and additionally, bread & home made butter to start and extra petit fours after dessert. Menu charges so not much point in specific dishes, see photos. Otherwise highly recommend.
The place is remarkable, with large beams, very high ceilings. Olivier the sommelier did a great job with the pairings, very interesting selection of wines. The kitchen delivered very good plates, with different tastes balanced. The desert was based on Rhubarb, very pretty and with a great composition.
We had the most delicious, special dinner at the bar.
Very nice place, I liked it. the food especially the filet mignon.
We had a wonderful meal at Chez Muffy. The food and service were both exceptional. Special mention (and thanks) for having a separate kids menu - that was still delicious just a bit simpler. This makes dinning out (at a nice restaurant) possible for families - not many restaurants permit mom and dad to enjoy a delicious tasting menu with accompanying wine service, while kids can join them and feel part of a nice evening out. A definite must if you are in Quebec City!
I have a wonderful evening at Muffys. Everything is excellent. The food, the service, the decor, the ambiance, everything is perfect. I highly recommend it. Parking: Free parking in the hotel garage for restaurant guests. Valet service. Wheelchair accessibility: The rear entrance on Saint Pierre Street.
This restaurant is over for me.
Impose 2% more on customers... No thank you, its already expensive enough for the quality of the plate
In Quebec and with a menu all in English. Well done!
A dining experience must for the foodie looking for world class gastronomy.
The tip extortion has no end. Now above the 25% tip and extortionate food prices, I need to pay 2% administration fee? Why not just rob me and cut the middle step?
Pay your staff. It is not the customers responsibility to pay your employees adequately. And we wonder why Quebecers go out to restaurants less often
They put 2% on the bill to pay their employees.
Beautiful restaurant built with stone and timber. Breakfast was flavorful. The lemon waffles were creative, savory, and sweet. Service was mostly absent. No one checked on us after our order was taken. Didnt get any water until I asked the person who asked for payment. Expensive for what is received.
When we arrived for our reservation on a very busy weekend in the city it was odd that there was only one other table occupied. This restaurant is very unappealing from the get go. The fellow that seated us was flip and detached, and it was a obvious he couldn t care less. When we asked for white wine by the glass, the waiter replied they have Chardonnay. When we asked for more selection, he told us to order a bottle from the wine list then. He begrudgingly opened a bottle of white French wine, and after a small taste, it wasn t to our liking. The menu was fixed with no option of a la carte selection. We left at that point and were charged $100.00 for a NO SHOW.
Creative, precise, delicious. It was a very special evening.
How lucky we are! during our stay in Quebec City in a fabulous hotel Auberge Saint Antoine we discovered a fantastic Upscale farm-to-table European restaurant! The food is so outstanding and delicious!Love Chez Muffy!
Excellent service and meal, once again! This was our 2nd time in 6 months and its definitely not the last! My partner and I had the venison as a main course, with all its delicious accompaniments, such as squash gnocchi, blood sausage and pâté en croute. Absolutely exceptional!!! One of the best dishes I have eaten! Very hearty and perfect. Well done to the chef! We took the food and wine pairing and a special mention to the sommelier who matched them perfectly. A mention of honor to our very friendly and professional waitress Héloïse, who is exceptional. A real gem! We are already looking forward to going back.
Always exceptional!
Loved it especially the breakfast.
The dining experience was very satisfying, had it not been for the presence of a hair in the dip of our appetizer at the start of the meal. We received an apology from our server Kevin. On the other hand, the catering manager and sommelier did not deign to apologize or compensate us for this hygienic incident. Here we are in a restaurant on the Château Relais side, I cannot minimize this incident. We would have appreciated compensation. So Im removing 2 stars from my review. We returned 3 months later, following the invitation of Mr. Alexandre Kassatly, General Manager. He offered us to repeat the culinary experience at the inn s expense. We were warmly welcomed by the staff. Mr. Kassatly had the kindness to call us to wish us a good stay. In the Chez Muffy dining room, the welcome was personalized from the maître d to the waiters and the sommelier. I advise you to try the food and wine pairing experience. The restaurant lives up to its reputation. Even the chef took the trouble to come and find out about our satisfaction. The hostel deserves more than 5 stars and has become our must-see.
Delicious menu, impeccable service and warm atmosphere. THANKS
Impeccable service, refined dishes prepared to perfection, the flavors are well balanced, beautiful presentation of the dishes
We loved our brunch experience at Muffys. Each dish on the menu was tasty and highlighted local and regional products. The gastronomic experience is well worth the detour!
Nice place, but no more all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch, and unfortunately the update was not done so we got screwed
Excellent lunch and service
Lunch: well-balanced and refined flavors, impeccable service.
Excellent food and service!
Showed up on time for our 9pm reservation only to be told that the kitchen closes at 9 and that their online booking system had acted up when it gave us our reservation. Their dismissive not my problem reaction to their own mistake was unworthy of Relais & Châteaux hospitality. A friendly restaurateur would have helped us find somewhere else to eat, offered us drinks, or facilitated some kind of compensation, even just to make up for our disappointment, but we barely got an apology.
The experience of local slow food is elevated to a new level at chez muffy. Service was sympa! Atmosphere historic elegance. The conversation was playful. Shaved black truffles accented the lobster salad, but two dishes I will never forget: the smoked, dry aged duck breast and the isle dorleans strawberry and meringue fantasy.
This place is fantastic. The staff are phenomenal and receptive and the food is top notch, we are visiting from Ontario. Highly recommended!
My favorite restaurant for lunch in Quebec. Impeccable service, warm atmosphere, excellent coffee and delicious food. Not to mention the fresh squeezed juice.
I had a great brunch with my family here.
How do you explain? All this will have started in February 2021 in the middle of a pandemic.. My meeting with Vincent and Karine was divine and exceptional! So since they invited me and my partner we chose to live the experience with them at Muffys. From the first moment everything was divine, outstanding service, fresh bottles and simply exquisite food. A unique experience to live once in your life!!!
Wow!
Chez muffy is a restaurant that mastered its classics. The waiting staff is of the relais & chateaux level, with a high attention to detail. The food in itself respects the local terroir of Quebec and aims to promote local produces. The beef rossini is possibly one of my favourite meals ever eaten, it was the perfect mix between the meat, the foie gras and enhanced by the black truffle. They offered a good variety of wine pairings, from lower prices, to higher priced vintage wines. The pairings really were perfect for me , the brunello with the beef being the star of the night. Would definitely recommend to book on the patio.
Very expensive, nothing special.
Tasty cuisine highlighting local products. Impeccable and friendly service. Extensive wine list. In short, everything we expect from the relais & Châteaux label without the too formal side. We will definitely come back.
Historic interior and relatively great breakfast spot.
We had one supper and a few breakfasts here and quite enjoyed it. The service is amazing, similar to the adjoining hotel. The breakfast has only a few options, but they are all good. I prefer restaurants do a few things really well that a lot of options that are all so-so. Options also include a mix for all preferences so you wont have issues finding one that matches and any one is tasty. The supper was just excellent, as with all the food it is very local, so a very nice touch. Great options once again. It is pricey though, so it must be in your budget or a special occasion treat.
Excellent service and delicious food!
Thank you very much to the whole team, really appreciated. I loved my evening. Cooking, preparation, presentation you are on top. Arthur and Justine, you are magicians. Well done to all of you
Best food we ve tasted anywhere in our travels. Everything was so fresh and delicious! A must try if you come to Quebec City!!
Simply wow
What can we say with one of the most beautiful experiences in a restaurant that we have had in Quebec service, dishes and food and wine pairings, atmosphere and the magnificent location. A big congratulations to this whole wonderful team for their work
Breakfast was included as part of our room rate and was wonderful. The pastries and entrees were all delicious. My family also had dinner here. The highlight was the duck entree, which was cooked to just the right level and was tender and full of flavor. The fish was also done well but not as special. The dessert course was light and refreshing. The one thing that we really didn t like were the various amuse-bouche. The radish one, especially had too much of the uncooked-radish spicy sensation which was not to our taste.
Elegant dining, great staff and service. Exquisite food, one plate at a time.
What a moment of pleasure in a calm but lively dining room! A flawless menu allowing you to savor every bite. A reasonably priced trip to inventive gastronomy. To highlight the impeccable and responsive service, we really feel welcome at Muffy
The venue is fabulous, and the staff was excellent but the tiny portions did not support the very expensive price tag. Up-charges were added to several of the offerings on an already pricey base charge, the fish was fishy and dry, and the wine list pricing seemed to average $200/bottle or more. At $465 for the two of us, Chez Muffy was an uncomfortable dining experience in an otherwise splendid trip to Old Quebec.
I went there for brunch it was baaaarfect!!! I cant wait to go back
We went for brunch at this beautiful historic warehouse where we had a European farm-to-table 3-course meal and OMG everything was delicious. It has become one of our fave restaurants in Quebec City.
30 minute wait despite reservation We didnt offer to put our coats in the locker room Placemats and napkins were dirty I was offered a mimosa without specifying that it was not part of the brunch and the waitress argued rather than apologizing, which would have been enough for me.
My family and I were in Quebec for Christmas and we happened to sneak in for a lunch reservation a couple days before Christmas. Our experience was amazing! The restaurant itself has a great vibe and is in a fantastic old building near the river. Our server was incredible and truly made our dining experience as good as it was. On top of fantastic service, all of the food we had was delicious. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance if you are wanting to go!
We came for the New Years brunch (buffet). Free vehicle support is much appreciated. The setting of the restaurant is neat and pleasant. Attentive and delicate staff, who do not harass you every 2 minutes asking if everything is okay while filling your glass of water 3 times. And that feels good! As for meals, the choice is interesting, the products are quality (cheeses, cold meats, meats, fish), the dishes are tasty and well cooked. The roast beef was perfectly cooked, the lamb parmentier was a real treat. It feels good to eat truly cooked, tasty dishes. On the other hand, the sweet offering is very disappointing: the pastries are clearly not up to standard, the desserts as a whole are too sweet and lack finesse. (apple crumble, lemon meringue tart, chocolate mousse, chocolate log and donuts). Its a shame because it taints the end of the meal and leaves a disappointment tarnishing the overall appreciation of the meal. This remains an excellent address due to the quality of the setting, the cuisine, the welcome to have a good time with family and enjoy yourself.
Great food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. Not the kind of place youd go every night, but on a special occasion Chez Muffy would be ideal.
An extraordinary gastronomic experience. Everything was exquisite, from starter to dessert. The sommeliers recommendations matched the dishes perfectly. The service was impeccable. A must-see address!
Excellent variety of dishes for the lunch buffet, country decor and impeccable service.
Audacious, surprising and delicious. High tier $$.
Wonderful experience. We were celebrating and they went out of their way to make it special. Great atmosphere!
Warm atmosphere, very courteous staff. Excellent meal
Gorgeous restaurant, service and food!
Its expensive, but it was definitely delicious.
We had the most amazing dinner at Chez Muffy! The atmosphere is lovely with the exposed beams, and we had a romantic table for two overlooking a fireplace. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. We liked it so much we went back for their Sunday brunch. Highly recommend!
Very good tasty dish with a wine pairing! Fresh farm food directly on the plate and great discovery of local products! Try the discovery menu!!
Superb brunch. Really nice service thanks again for the experience.
Excellent brunch! Very good products and delicious dishes!
Excellent brunch!! The place is very friendly and cozy. The staff is really welcoming and takes great care of the customers. Having tasted all the dishes, they are ALL very good! The dishes are unlimited and are served at our table. The price includes juices, coffees and teas. All products come specifically from local Quebec producers (from farm to fork!) The price of brunch is well worth it!
I absolutely loved this restaurant! The excellent service and exquisite food makes it one of the best restaurants in Quebec.
Amazing food and wine selection. The staff were amazing and friendly. A memorable night at Chez Muffy.
Chez Muffy, (formerly known as Panache) located in the elegantly appointed Four-Star Auberge Saint-Antoine is led by chef Julien Ouellet, who takes pride in using seasonal produce menus sourced from it s own farm on Île dOrléans, keeps the menu interesting. The haute cuisine tasting menu is a twist on local Québec specialities that are exquisitely prepared and presented are a stimulation for your palette. The restaurants refined, yet relaxed atmosphere in its former 19th century warehouse creates an ideal setting for both business and romantic occasions. The professional service is attentive, but not over-bearing allowing you to profit and enjoy. experience, merci beaucoup
Memorable night and dinner at chez muffy. Best food and wine selection you will get for the price you will pay. Tried 3 course meal and was the best food I ve had in queue city.
