The ramen soups and takoyaki were pretty good! The chicken karaage was not very crispy though, felt soggier than it should be.
This place has delicious Japanese food. I really enjoyed my dumplings and my ramen. I was a little bit frustrated with some aspects of the service though. I was sat on the far side of the restaurant and was completely ignored once I received my food. I tried for more than 15 minutes to ask for more water and not one server even looked at me. I had to eventually walk over to the counter and wait for someone to acknowledge me to get my water myself. Not the end of the world, but I would have liked someone to check on me at least once during the meal.
Amazing Ramen!! The Mai Tai Pineapple was DELICIOUS!! So yum! I really wish this was closer to home so I could have both again and again! Order the Miso Ramen and Mai Tai, you won’t be disappointed!
We tried their tonkotsu ramen. The broth looked good but could be richer. The portion was great with 3 thick slices of chasu and half of the egg which can be marinated better as well. Noodles used were the yellow noodles, came with bamboo shoots and black fungus. Service was excellent
Me and a group were on a business trip to Quebec and we were craving soup. Our initial idea was pho but all the Vietnamese restaurants were either closed or not open late enough for us. So we opted for ramen! The restaurant's vibes and interior was a fusion of modern club-like aesthetic and Japanese decor. The automated lucky cat and ramen display was cool at the store front. Interior is spacious and we got to choose anywhere to sit. The food came out quick and most of what we ordered was tasty. For the appetizers, the kimchi was a bit too sweet for my liking; perhaps it was not fermented long enough. Warning with the kimchi, it was too spicy for my colleagues but I thought it was fine as I'm normally used to eating spicy food. We ordered the edamame and the seasoning they put in that numbs your mouth after eatting it for awhile. I think they use peppercorn or something. I have never had edamame numb my mouth before. With the main dishes, all the ramen tasted pretty generic. One of my colleagues had dietary restrictions and they were able to accomodate her and take certain ingredients out. If you order the duck ramen, the meat is sweet almost as if they used marinated duck meat. I felt it didn't go well with the rest of the soup taste. I also ordered a ramen combo that came with a chicken cutlet. The chicken cutlet was left a little too long in the deep fryer but regardless it still tasted good, just extra crunchy! We shared a L'arc en ciel roll aka rainbow roll. This one was alright, not the most outstanding taste. The okonomiyaki and salmon nigiri were really tasty. I'd recommend those as you can't go wrong. The service was a bit slow. The restaurant at night looked like it was run by young teens and I stared for a good 5 min watching the young waitress scrolling through her phone. Our table also ran out of water and I again had to wave her down and get her attention. I think if I were to come here again, I would stick with the sushi and nigiri next time. Some of the appetizers are a hit or miss but would be interesting to try the other stuff on their menu. Still, it's a great restaurant for late night eats and decent price if you don't mind the slow service.
So delicious! Very authentic Asian food! We finished eating everything except for their plates! 🍽️🍽️🍽️😋😋 Am a Chinese! And my boyfriend is québécois!
I came for dinner, the restaurant boasts a good vibe and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were nice and professional. I had deep fried dumplings, spicy miso soup, Mai Tai drink and Roku Tonique drink. The food was great and a lot, I couldn’t finish it. The drinks were average but ok.
Cute ramen place! Great food and friendly service. My husband loved the spicy miso ramen. The edamame was very flavorful and warm. We tried the matcha ice cream and matcha beer. It was very refreshing. The waiter was so kind to give us a free scoop of matcha ice cream. We waited the storm to calm down a bit to try this place. It was worth it! Would love to come back when the weather gets better!
I hesitated between one and two stars. The food was just ok, and above all the ordering experience was very very disappointing. After placing an order for several items through Uber Eats, the delivery person arrived with another persons order. After several calls, I learned that my order had been given to another Uber driver. This shows a serious lack of rigor on the part of Uber drivers, who do not check the orders they pick up, but also on the part of the restaurant, which does not seem to ensure that the right order is given to the right driver. Uber canceled my order, and I had to reorder it. After almost 2 hours of waiting in total and no apology, I finally received my order, but one item was still missing (the rice). The expected quality level of food, lack of organization and follow-up ruined my experience. I hope the restaurant will take steps to avoid this kind of problem in the future.
Relaxing and good meal. On the other hand, we had a lot of errors in our orders on our group table.
Very good value for money in delivery very satisfied
Really good restaurant, fun atmosphere and good food I recommend and its not expensive well done
Staff closed the restaurant at 9:00, Hours say they are open till 10.
The staff doesnt seem very friendly or attentive. The taste seems to have changed from last time.
I loved my Ramen soup. 10\10
The best ramen in Quebec
Everything was very good from the gyoza, karagee and both noodle bowls, great value
I really like the ramen. I tried the fumed duck ramen. The broth is savory and tastes really good. The duck also delicious. Vegetarian options: They have vegetable ramen with kimchi also
The taste of the dishes was really interesting and authentic, every bite was a culinary discovery. I was pleasantly surprised by the calming decor, which creates the perfect ambiance for a relaxing meal. The service was impeccable, with attentive and courteous staff. An experience that I highly recommend to all fans of Japanese cuisine!
We were wandering around the neighborhood without really knowing what to eat and where everything was overpriced and finally came across this restaurant. Fast service, very nice/filling ramen and for a fair price, we are delighted! 2 ramens, 6 gyozas for $43 taxes included
Clearly the best ramen in the capital.
Good value for money.
Really delicious Shoyu ramen soup. Fragrant soup that is good for the stomach. I loved it. Sesame balls too. Yum.
Ramen was ok. Service.,. can be better. Wheelchair accessibility: Seems not accessible for a wheelchair as you need to take stairs. No ramps. Food : 3/5 |
Visited Isakiya in Quebec City and were absolutely delighted! The ambiance was fantastic, the food was delicious, and the service was attentive. Yes, there was quite a long line, and we had to wait about 20 minutes, but it was worth it. Highly recommend it to all Japanese cuisine lovers!
First takeaway order from this restaurant and I was not disappointed. Delicious ramen soup, packaged with care and accompanied by a little note. I recommend!
Totally their foods taste great. Do not ever miss here. This is a Quebec City restaurant with authentic food. Its an izakaya that serves alcohol!! The food tastes good, but it s disappointing that there aren t many types of sake
Excellent meal served by friendly and responsive staff in a very friendly setting! And all this with excellent value for money! I recommend!
Very good restaurant I recommend trying 10/10 D
Quick service. Sushi menu price is fair. Place feels like in Japan. Got the kalbi with rice and chicken bao buns. The kalbi tasted right, but the bao buns was kind of tough to bite on. Overall, I still recommend going there and just get the kalbi with rice which is enough and cheaper than ramen bowl.
I couldnt find a good Korean restaurant in Quebec, so I went to an izakaya that serves Japanese food. 1. If you miss spicy Korean ramen, I recommend Kimchi ramen. Its basically a ramen-based soup, but its good because it contains a lot of kimchi. 2. Kalbi is also delicious. Since the ribs alone are too salty to eat, just ask for a bowl of rice (about $3). 3. I ordered two pieces of sushi individually, but if you order one, you basically get two pieces of sushi. (So a total of 4). Each one is large and thick, so I think its good value for money. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere feels like a mix between a bar and a restaurant. There are a lot of people who go there without drinking and just eating. Recommended for those who want to eat Japanese food or those who are looking for an alternative to Korean food.
I had ramen, poutine, and cocktails. The poutine was delicious, and the cocktail was perfect, but the ramen place didnt have any flavor and the broth was a little too good.
Good portion
Super good ramen and takoyaki, the waitresses were very welcoming, the environment was very nice, very good dining experience.
The food is delicious and the place is very nice.
Highly recommended.
I recently went to Chika Ramen Restaurant and was absolutely delighted with the experience. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted warmly by Jonah, our server, who made our visit even more memorable. Jonah was incredibly attentive and extremely knowledgeable about the menu, which helped us choose the best dishes. The ramen was simply exceptional! The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles cooked perfectly, and the toppings fresh and generous. Every bite was pure delight. The ambiance of the restaurant is also charming, with authentic decor that transports you straight to Japan. The fast service and attention to detail really made the difference. I highly recommend Chika Ramen to all Japanese food lovers. And if youre lucky enough to have Jonah as your server, youre guaranteed to have an unforgettable time!
One of my favorite restaurants in Quebec! I highly recommend the grilled cod, the tempura shrimp and its definitely where you eat the best sushi (fresh and generous with the fish). An authentic Japanese experience!
I have been going to Chika regularly for 4 years now and not once have I been disappointed. Everything is always exceptional and the ramen is always just as good. Special mention to the servers who are very warm and fast. I recommend!
I ordered a pork miso ramen and 2 nigiri. Everything was excellent, very good, friendly and efficient service. My meal was excellent and the ramen was tasty and very consistent. My only slight disappointment, the protein was rather large slices of roast pork that were too thick for my taste and not chashu pork which usually melts in your mouth.
very good food, not too expensive and close to the FEQ....wonderful!
Being three people on this order, I called the restaurant to ask for enough wasabi, ginger and soy sauce for the three of us and for 25 pieces but unfortunately we only received a few slices of ginger, a little wasabi and 1 container soy sauce. If we had made 3 separate orders, we would have each had our portion of wasabi, ginger and soy sauce so why not add more from the start. Were still talking about 25 pieces. For me, it makes sense and can fit into customer service. Obviously, its not serious but its boring especially when we really like these accompaniments with our sushi and we dont have any at home. I must add though that the sushi is very beautiful and looks delicious.
Best sushi in Quebec!!
The servers were very welcoming and gave me incredible service!!!
Wow! Best ramen in Quebec
Really delicious, great atmosphere and excellent service from the staff
Que bellissimo! Mukava! Kid-friendliness: Many kids friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Oh yeah
Greatest service I ve ever experienced, the waiters were fast and friendly and handsome.
I loved eating there with my wives and children! Great atmosphere and service and the manager gave us some complimentary desserts. Kid-friendliness: Yes les enfants!
As per the reviews! Truly the best ramen restaurant in Quebec! Ill come back later.
Nice people, excellent service and the menu, Wowwww Thank you Food
Delicious and cheap.
Gindara miso
too delicious. The palace of taste is good. Close to the city center. Unfortunately there is no parking lot. . .
Best Ramen in town, great value for money!
Delicious food & great service! 10/10
Good food, good service and all that at a great price. I had the pork tonkotsu ramen, it was a real delight. And their edamame is the best Ive tasted in Quebec. I enjoyed myself.
Great atmosphere, perfect place to go for dinner with friends. Very fast service, we were served in less than 10 minutes, the prices are rather average when it comes to ramen (fairly standard price), everything that is starters and appetizers is very affordable, we took 3 for one total price of $15, which is very rare in restaurants and moreover in Asian restaurants which usually take advantage of the popularity and rarity of the cuisine to charge $10 for an onigiri. I went there in the middle of the FEQ and despite the crowds of people and the long lines everywhere there was still plenty of room in the restaurant because the poster is not very flashy, so it is a perfect place despite the busy Grande aisle.
Amazing food and service.
Personally my favorite when it comes to Japanese cuisine in Quebec, with the possible exception of Tora-Ya (which always has a good line at the entrance, unlike here) Wide variety of dishes, excellent value for money. It is as possible to come and eat a quality ramen there for $20 per person as to spend hours chaining dishes over a drink.
Tapas (Izakaya food menu) seems like to be made from frozen package food that can be purchased from the market. Ramens are better than tapas
We had a nice dinner here. The food was all fresh. Agedashi Tofu was unique but good. Sushi sizes were generous. I recommend the Ika Squid in particular.
Food is good.. Not so authentic as the true Japanese but its good.. Nice and pleassant place. Good customer service.
What a fresh sushi Thanks Chika! I really enjoyed my order Food : 5/5
Best ramen in Quebec, affordable price.
I love the food here, especially the value for money. Ive been there twice with different friends and the price is excellent for all of us. The only thing that needs to be improved is customer service. But I will definitely come back because the food is delicious and the price is right. The only thing I didnt like is the taste of the ramen, thats the only thing I dont recommend trying
Great place to eat a great ramen. Affordable price. As for the atmosphere, we went on a monday and we were the only cudtomers , we felt like kings.
Wow
Parking: Use the new COPILOTE+ app to pay for your parking fee. As now its just 0.75 cents in CADollar per 15 mins. Food : 5/5
Great food, quick service, good ambience and reasonable price for the portion sizes.
I love it the food was so good and I was shocked when the food comme like 5 min after the oder the noodles was so good
It felt like a semi-basement, but it was nice and the food was even better. I took it out and my wife and daughter loved it and said it was an excellent choice. It seemed like street parking was available after 7pm.
Good portion, good flavor, good diversity. The service is non-existent and unprofessional, but thats not a big deal. The meals arrived very quickly. Little atmosphere, but does the job amply
Excellent service
We arrived at the restaurant around 8:40pm and the staff told us that it was only for take away even though the closing time was 10pm.
The ramen I ordered was cooked incorrectly, so I was given an extra bowl of soup to put in. The pork was too hard to chew, and the soup didnt have the richness of Japanese ramen at all. Shocking thunder!
Stopped in for sushi. Took literally minutes to get food after ordering. Not sure how they do that. Not the most authentic sushi but it will meet the needs of most.
Terrible service! we arrive 45 minutes before the restaurant closes, 45 MINUTES BEFORE! and we are refused by mentioning that they are closed?? If you dont want to work there, boys, there are plenty of places looking!
Best restaurant of the Grande-Allée, great food for the chepest place of the street. Amazing service et cosy atmosphere.
Superb restaurant in which I was able to eat. We were immediately welcomed and then served. Its the only Japanese restaurant Ive eaten in outside of Japan that really reminded me of the flavors I had eaten there. I highly recommend it if you are passing by!
Very solid ramen. The miso broth and tonkosu broth are both very flavorful. The pork in the ramen is nothing to write home about, but it certainly wasn t bad either.
Amazing service ! Thank you for the sake bombs
Ultra fast service very hot dinner fresh product impeccable service and really cheap at 2 cost $80 and we were full Parking: Before 9 a.m. paid parking everywhere on the street near the main driveway and underground parking! By going around 7 a.m. not too many people you pay $6 for parking and you have the rest of the evening from 9 a.m. free to go for a walk or other
Often order takeaway, we tried it on site. No complaints. Great servers. Its really good, tonkutsu, shio, etc. We enjoy.
Went to eat there with my third @ . The workers were hard working and extremely attractive.
Excellent place, taste as if you were in Japan, excellent service and great variety
Overall good. I got the tonkotsu, takoyaki and karaage. Takoyaki was the winner! Server was very nice and accommodating. We couldn t find parking and was late due to the Bonhomme festival. They accommodated us. So that was a plus.
Very happy with my first experience. Everything was good! Takoyakis hmmm! So good! 10/10 The tall Asian waiter cuts mushrooms you look flawless! If I open a restaurant Ill hire you as manager!
Best ramen soup Ive ever had!
When we entered the restaurant we were immediately seated. We had ordered and not even, 10 minutes after the Ramens and starter was served, the mai-thai was delicious I recommend it to anyone who loves pineapple. The service was quick, the food was fresh and hot, and the ambiance was relaxing and romantic. Vegetarian options: In the first photo there is the vegetarian kimchi ramen, my friend ordered it and the kimchi flavor is very tasty. Kid-friendliness: If you want to bring your children to discover different flavors they will love it, and no worries the staff is very friendly.
Pro: Very good restaurant, more than affordable price, excellent service Cons: decoration very... Ordinary...
Delicious, good atmosphere and good service from the staff nothing to complain about
Bad service, waiters are really not interested in serving customers. Food arrived late, the tapas served in several parts (even though they were supposed to go together), the bowl of rice served lukewarm more than half an hour later when I had of course already finished eating the rest and I had to ask the waiter to bring it to me... 0/5 stars if it was possible. :)
Went for the first time and definitely not the last. Everything was so delicious! Service was excellent and everyone was very friendly! Definitely recommend the (Takoyaki, Karaage and surume ika)
This place has one of the best tokoyakis Ive had in a while here in Canada the service is fast and the atmosphere of the entire place is quite refreshing would highly recommend.
Always good value for money. I really enjoyed the smoked duck ramen.
My experience at Chika ramen was simply magical, all very polite with dishes at affordable prices. I can tell you, I looked everywhere in Quebec and I found no place that had such a good smoked duck ramen. I recommend it to you. Looking forward to going back!!!
0 STAR. This restaurant doesnt know how to manage or handle busy hours. Everything is a mess! Please close your system and do not accept orders yet, FIRST, give your best services to the customers who had been waiting in line and customers who had been sitting for 30 minutes or so and still no food!! I feel bad for their servers. All of them were confused and dont know what to say to the customers.
We ve reserved online for the dine in. When we went there, the server said they didn t cancel online, and we have to wait there 2 hours to get something to eat. We ve already spent 30$ on Ubers and just want to get something to eat. Very bad service and experience, highly not recommend for this restaurant!!!!!
After making an online reservation for dining in, we were disappointed upon arrival when informed by the staff that our reservation was overlooked, resulting in a two-hour wait for a table. This inconvenience, coupled with the unnecessary $30 spent on Uber rides, led to a frustrating experience. I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant due to their poor service and overall disappointing experience.
We had a reservation confirmed online, but upon arriving at the restaurant, we faced a letdown. The server informed us that they hadn t updated their online bookings, causing us to wait two hours to be seated. The ordeal cost us $30 in Uber fares, adding to our frustration. Based on this experience of subpar service and significant inconvenience, I cannot recommend this establishment.
This is a very busy place for a good reason, the food is amazing! Wife ordered a poke bowl and I ordered ramen, the soup base was so flavourful and noodle consistency was perfect!
Quiet restaurant hide in a corner of the street. There aren t many Eastern Asian restaurants in the area, this is a hidden gem if you wanna try something different.
Amazing service, handsome waiters gracefully accommodated me and my seven children, and even helped me into the restaurant by carrying me in my wheelchair
good service the food is good a little disappointed with the kalbi but in general everything was delicious I recommend
This place is so niceee If you like japanese food you must go here I recommend garaage!! Food : 5/5
Nice ramen, good service
A Japanese cuisine restaurant with tasty food and good service. A little bit expensive but worthy to have a try. Just opposite the QBEDS hostel.
Very generous ramen and very kind staff! I recommend
Gloomy atmosphere Basic service
I recommend vrm the tonsoku! Excellent!
really made the christmas dinner so much better. the spicy miso ramen was one of the best i ve ever had
Very good homestyle chicken ramen and great bang for buck!
My friend and I got miso spicy ramen and shoyu ramen. (Both with pork) Their ramen was really good and flavourful with a lot of ingredients in it! And a good portion too! We also ordered one of their cocktails (forgot the name) tasted like pineapple and coconut, and it was really good too! Their food are not too overpriced and affordable which I liked about this place. I definitely recommend this place for dining and drinks as well!
DO NOT ORDER THERE Thats 2 times in a row, 6 months apart. Too bad the food is so good. The first time, in August 2022, there was a huge error in the order. We receive 50% less from Uber than we ordered. We call the restaurants and they cant do anything for us. The second time, in December 2022, the Uber is delayed 4x, almost 2 hours late. We call to make sure everything is ok. The receptionist, who was super nice, told us that there was an error in our order, so there was a delay. She tries to get us a free dessert from her manager. Without turning off the sound, we hear him being yelled at by another person behind the phone. Honestly, I am aware of the difficulties restaurateurs are currently experiencing. I am very emphatic towards their situation. But I will never encourage a restaurant that acts with their employees in this way. Many thanks to the hostess who answered us and sorry that you had to endure this from your superior. We will never recommend this restaurant.
We were glad to find this ramen place on New Year s Eve. Appetizers were all delicious. Ramen soup was authentic.
The hidden GEM of quebec city Everything we had was delicious. The fried chicken and gyoza are a must Highly recommended Food : 5/5
Excellent experience, comfortable, sophisticated place at a good price. Ideal for an outing as a couple or with friends!
The place isnt particularly warm and inviting, but they have excellent tonkatsu ramen! The portion was generous. Customer service was average over the Christmas holidays. Convenient location and reliable hours.
good place where I go whenever I can, but the attention it could be better, Thanks
Ordered Uber eats with such an amazing meal!!! Merci!
Dont close their UberEat when the Carnival parade is on Grande-Allee and it is physically impossible to drive to the restaurant or even approach the area by car. Ordinary
Delicious broth and toppings. It was also a good experience to eat in here. Highly recommend!
Very nice ramen place. Their Miso Spicy Ramen, Tonkoso Ramen are a must try, very delicious. Affordable, delicious and huge servings.
The ramen is the best
Good food, various choices, reasonable prices. Coming back again Food
The food was very good, the pork in the ramen was a little chewy, which made it hard to eat with just chopsticks but otherwise the flavours were great. The service was great and there was hardly a wait on the food. The menus are hard to read especially with how dark it is in the restaurant.
Its really good, my only regret is not having tried this restaurant instead, I ordered with uber eat. The tonkotsu ramen soup was excellent, same for the kalbi beef, gyoza and sweet buns. The octopus balls were ok. Their strength is the ramen soup, the kalbis were good but tasted as good as the frozen presidents choice ones from the grocery store, not better. The pork in tonkotsu could be more tender and fatty.
The food was good, but the service was bad, the waiter was indifferent. The order was not correct. SO STICKY TABLE!!!
I guess you could go here.
We ordered Uber. They forgot a ramen. No solution...the only solution offered is that someone wont eat. We will never order again
Made a big order, they forgot one meal for someone. We call and their solution was for them to do absolutely nothing for us to get our missing meal. No offer whatsoever to get it to us. The chicken we ordered arrived dry and cold and the ramen we did get was just okay.
The food is tasty and plentiful. Nice selection of soju and Japanese whiskey. A little detour that is worth it.
When we went there (on a Friday evening) there was no atmosphere. The ramen soup was way too spicy even though Im usually able to eat it. Disappointing experience.
A young team with a bright future ahead of them. The dishes were sketchy and the quality of service impeccable Parking: Parking is 50 m away and paying (dish consumed on site, impossible to park in front of the restaurant. You had to pay)
Nice surprise at a competitive price. The chicken karaage is excellent.
Just off Grand alle in QC you see the door for this really neat place for very good ramen. My better half always loves a heat ramen and her seafood ramen was rated by her as one of the best ones. My miso ramen was recommended by the lady and it turned out to be a unique but pleasurable on the palate experience. The broth had an incredible depth to it. The seafoods broth was a bit lighter but so good for seafood.
Excellent and authentic, impeccable quality/price ratio. On my next visit to Quebec, I will be there again!
Food quality and impeccable service
Great place to eat with friends. Friendly waitstaff will offer suggestions. In the heart of alll the action on Grand Allée E.
Food was alright but the service service was very bad. I had thr yuzu cocktail but it didnt taste like any alcohol whatsoever. They forgot an order for my group and took very long for the missing order to come.
Good food, very courteous service, however the atmosphere is heavy because there is no background music, no windows and the majority of the decor colors are dark gray, black with a little touch of red here and there with a wooden table. wood Fortunately the employees were really pleasant and attentive throughout the service. Well done to the team!
The service is excellent , good price and the very good, we will definitely come back
Good atmosphere, nice staffs, delicious ramen! It was the first time to eat ramen in Canada. my craving to Japanese food fulfilled. I ate Kimuchi Vege ramen, it contained tomato. it is very rare to put tomato to ramen in Japan, but it was nice combination.
I ordered tonkotsu, miso spicy ramen, karaage, and rice bowl. The amount of ramen was more than I expected, and they gave me a lot of rice bowl. I was very full and ate it all deliciously (I left some rice). The servers were really friendly and gave us all the plates. In particular, the miso spice was spicy and delicious, and there was a lot of meat in the ramen. The karaage was fried well and the sauce looked like a spicy mayo sauce and was delicious. I was going to have a quick meal and go to the pub, but I was too full. It was so delicious that I couldnt even leave anything and ate it until I was full.
Ramen is great
Food
Not bad but not crazy. Merit 3.5 Noodles not homemade Dirty table.
The food was very good (especially the takoyaki, gyoza and edamame). However, the beef in my ramen was not tender, even rubbery. I couldnt eat them, quite disappointed.
Good food and great combos for good rate
Excellent restaurant to discover! Warm welcome, beautiful decor that makes you forget that you are in a basement. I highly recommend the Cheese Scallops and Karaage. My chicken Tonkosu soup and my girlfriends smoked duck soup were delicious!
I love going to eat there. The atmosphere is very good. This is the only ramen place I found that was very good. Its the best ramen Ive ever eaten, thats why I go there. Every year I go there and Im not disappointed
The service was a little slow, the waiter didnt really come to us. Even at reception it was the gentleman at the bar who ended up answering us and directing a waiter to us. However the staff was very nice. The food was good! The chicken in my Ramen was excellent! The broth is excellent.
This place is a MUST - do not miss it in old Quebec. We had the pork miso ramen, vegetarian ramen and rice cakes (I forget the original name) and everything was delicious. The service was fantastic and quick, even though they set the expectation the kitchen was a bit backed up and could take a bit longer than usual - it didnt. One of the most satisfying meals weve had in Quebec!!
We went on Thursday July 26, 2023 at 6 p.m. and we had a reservation for 6 people and one more person was added to us for my boyfriends 31st birthday party. My mother cant eat corn because she already had diverticulitis and she asked not to put corn in her beef ramen. She starts eating and what does she find at the bottom of her ramen? Corn. She could be extremely ill and go to the hospital if she eats this, the waitress didnt even take it off her bill, she had to convince her to take it off otherwise she wouldnt have done it. She ate 1/4 of her ramen and had it brought back without being offered anything else. Very disappointing and extremely dangerous. Also I ordered a tempura shellfish starter and they arrived wet and not at all crispy. I had to send them back to the kitchen to make them crispier and the waiter had a stupid attitude and without saying sorry, just angry. Yet it s not up to him to ensure that customers are satisfied with their meal? We didnt have a water refill, and my boyfriends friend had to ask for a glass of water after 3 times the waitress came to us without her noticing that a glass of water was missing. No dessert offered or given despite being told it was my boyfriends party... When the time came to pay my best friend had to take out her debit card to notify the waitress after 20 minutes of waiting at n only have water on the table and wait for her to come see us. This was the third time I went there and it was the worst time that the service was not to my liking. The food is excellent, but the service requires a lot of work.
Accepted a to-go order and held it for 40 minutes only to cancel it
If you are looking for a place to eat, this food stall is good for you. They serve ramen but its the normal thing taste nothing special but it was good.
The ramen was way under seasoned. Bland lacked flavour. We had to ask for salt which is never a good sign. The hard boiled egg wasn t marinated which is personally my favorite part of the ramen. The takoyaki was good.
Nice restaurant, decent taste, fishes on sushi are too thin, service could be better.
great ramen :D delicious
Great food, really fresh ingredients.
I had the pork broth (tonkosu). Pleasant milky broth with tasty pork chashu and egg, good texture of noodles. nice vegetables. Satisfying and uplifting meal. The 5 stars are relative to the other local places, and do not mean this is michelin star level. I also had the duck-topped ramen which I did not like, felt like cold-cut/preserved meat. Maybe It is just personal preference. But I judged the place by the thing they put first on the menu I ate there 5-10 times and one time i got what seemed to be a piece of mussel shell in my bowl. I let them know and I think it is unlikely to happen. They slightly discounted that meal too. Service is friendly and professional. Usually the food came quickly, even when the place was full. One time they confused my order with someone elses and gave me a free dessert for the extra waiting time. Nice atmosphere with chill japanese music. This is the best ramen I had in Quebec City. Id choose to eat either here (if you want rich pork broth, fatty meat) or at Tora-Ya (complex miso broth, leaner meat) and not at Hon (meh ramen)
Excellent and really inexpensive My daughter, a fan of Japan, validates and I validate Far from the tourist traps of the center A hidden pearl, don t hesitate and go there
Delicious. Chefs are artists.
Sincerely I am very satisfied and happy with my visit to Chika Ramen Izakaya. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by a good family atmosphere and a very courteous team. The service was fast and exceptional, I was served by Steven and he was quick efficient courteous and friendly to us. The food was reasonably priced, the presentation very pleasing and the quantity was enough to satisfy the stomach and very delicious at the same time. As a tourist, I highly recommend it if you are ever looking for an Asian restaurant in Quebec
Very nice restaurant and pleasant family atmosphere. Quality and affordable price. I recommend for their different types of ramen soup that offers. Very well served portion and impeccable presentation. A big thank you to Steven for this experience.
Tokosu Ramen was delicious, broth was very rich in flavour, pork was a bit tough though. Sushi was good, pretty good price. Service was good and fast, atmosphere was great too.
Do you want ramen? Dont hesitate, this is the place to choose
Very good Ramen.
Spicy Miso with Pork and Takoyaki takoyakis were incredible. Noodles were good and the broth delicious. Pork was deceiving tho. Was rough and didnt have a particular taste. Good service and great atmosphere
This restaurant was truly a unique experience. I enjoyed the food, however the services left a little to be desired - this place will be remembered as a Great Food, Terrible Service restaurant for me. As someone from Asia, eating in an Asian restaurant, I never expected to hear the phrase yellow people from our server when he was just a few tables away. Especially when we were the only guests in the restaurant at that time. Moreover, openly pointing fingers at customers seems a bit too much, dont you think? During my trip to Canada, encountering this kind of service was truly unprecedented. I hope you guys kindly understand that this kind of behavior in front of guests its simply unacceptable, and I expect action to be taken by management to make sure this doesnt happen again. Even the front of house staff seemed embarrassed by the servers comments. Please let me know how you will address this issue. I went there after eating something spicy, but the direct comment about Prangs maple soup is cha ^^ hahaha I never imagined that I would be treated like this at a Japanese restaurant The food is delicious, but the staff needs some training. Its so embarrassing that they even said yellow instead of saying asian ^^ If youre going to joke, you should do it when youre a customer. You kid, just live like that for the rest of your life
I didnt receive my order because of uber eats but I still give 5 stars because I ordered it before, ps dont take uber eats
Surely the best ramen in town. Very testy ramen. Actually everything was so testy and authentically done . Service is great. Prices are so reasonable. Keep it up guys
This was one of my best experiences in Quebec City. The staff was really nice, respectful and professional. The food was excellent, very tasty. I really recommend the miso chicken ramen! I will clearly come back.
Excellent meal after 1 hour 45 minutes of waiting after ordering. The starters were not served at the same time. Our glasses didnt seem clean, there were even traces of the previous persons lipstick. The tables and floor are very sticky and unpleasant.
Sushi were very good, nigiri with generous portions of fish. The soup was good but we were expecting better for the price.
very average food
We said we were in a hurry and we were completely ignored
Good portion of ramen. The broth was very good. Top tier. The pork was a bit low quality. I would be ok if they cut the pork a bit more thinly and have less portion and provide higher quality meat. Also had the Chicken Karaage and it was very good.
Beautiful place, well located!! On the other hand, mediocre service, even non-existent... inedible chashu (too fatty, chashu sliced too thick and tasted almost nothing), tonkotsu ramen broth not very tasty but very salty. It was fortunate that the pineapple mai tai and the starters (karaage and takoyaki) were delicious because overall it was very ordinary. I wont go back!
Very good cuisine, I highly recommend.
Really average dishes, I will never go back. On the other hand absolutely nothing to say about the service
Fast service, friendly staff and they have vegan options.
Good ramen in terms of price and quality.
I highly recommend Chika Ramen Izakaya! This place is absolutely fantastic. Japanese cuisine is delicious, offering a variety of dishes including incredible ramen and authentic flavors. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, offering a true immersion in Japanese culture. The service is excellent, the team is friendly and professional. A real treat for the taste buds! I am sure that anyone who visits this place will have a delightful and memorable time.
Sake!
Good place for Japanese ramen
The ramen was very good, the service was excellent, we really enjoyed the afternoon
Food was solid; for how big the selection was everything ordered was pretty consistent in quality and flavor. The special sushi roll we ordered was way too big, and the ramen was average. I d recommend to anyone in the area craving some classic Japanese fare.
Excellent and the highest rated ramen shop. Much better than the broth and meat. More for two nights and more meat to choose from. Maybe it s because the first restaurant opened by a Japanese is more popular, but the Hong Kong boss is good at making barbecued pork.
Excellent! We have nailed the best combo ever: Salade Wafu, Saba Grille, Gindara Miso, salmon sashimi, rainbow roll, and Biere Matcha Japonaise. Grilled fish belly (Gindara Miso) is the ultimate winner of the evening !!!
My friend and I love Asian food. I can FINALLY say... that this is the first place in QUEBEC where I eat a super good Ramen (with good portions of pork too). From the starter (takoyaki & Gindara Miso) to the main course everything was deliciously delicious
Thursday, November 30, I ordered several dishes in your restaurant via the Skip the dishes application. This was the first time I ordered from you. Unfortunately, a few hours after our meal, we suffered from violent vomiting and everything that followed. Every 3 summers we were struck by food poisoning. As we shared the dishes, it is impossible for me to say which one caused this poisoning. First and last time.
It was a Friday night, the reservation was easy to get, there were only 2 servers that were working that night, we had to wait 30min to give our orders (seems a little unusual) but they did a good job overall. The food was excellent.
The food was delicious and we were surprised that it s not that expensive!! Totally worth it!
Food is better than expected. Service is great. Price is reasonable!
