After all day travelling by walk, we were so hungry. So we ordered some appys and pastas. Total 5 dishes to share. The food was ok. Some dishes were good. But the seafood was kind of fishy. Service was good. Nice and Cozy place.
Food exceeded our expectations! We arrived a little late for the breakfast menu, which ends at 11:15 on weekdays, so we had the ribs and the steak. Everything was tasty and well prepared.
We went for breakfast. The food was great. Zero complaints. Coffee, latte, espresso included with your meal. Service was professional and prompt. Complimentary smoothie "shot" to start.
The place is really friendly and warm ❤️ The breakfast spread was amazing and delicious. We all have a great time with best hospitality. Recommend for all visiting Quebec City and come here at least once. Cheers.
I checked this place out since I saw a bunch of reviews online, but honestly, it was pretty underwhelming. The ingredients didn't seem super fresh, and it had that typical tourist-trap vibe. We ordered the baby back ribs, poutine, and a salad, and they were all just okay. The prices were high, probably because it’s a tourist spot, but the food didn’t live up to it. Not sure if it’s changed, or this was just a bad location out of other ones, but I wouldn’t recommend it—there are better places to try!
Good choice for a solid meal and decent dining experience in the touristy area of the lower town. Nice selection of dishes with locally sourced ingredients. We choose from the table d'hôte and our options include a delicious clam chowder, local and seasonal vegetables, and a balanced, not too sweet dessert of chocolate cake at the end. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable. She gave great recommendations and was attentive throughout the meal.
We ate breakfast/brunch here on a busy Saturday morning. Our server, Laurent, was outstanding. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely was a nice person. All meals were excellent. I had the Classic, my wife had some eggs Benedict and another had the French toast. For the French toast, we were going to take a picture, but it was eaten before they remembered to take the photo. We included a shot of the last bite!) My Cafe Latte was excellent and included with the breakfast. The meal was a great value and we will return.
This place was a great surprise! So my family and I picked this place, because it looked so good on "google maps" and wow we love it! The food its really good, seasoning and price are great, the staff its fast and kind and the atmosphere lovely! Its pricey but I totally recommend it.
Attentive service! A big thank you to Ingrid who served us with kindness, despite a lot of traffic!
Very nice first experience, we ate well, I recommend the onion soup. However, there is a lack of a choice of French desserts, so we did not have dessert.
A friend from Tennessee recommended this place and it was phenomenal. The duck smelled so good when we walked in the door and the latte was fantastic. Everything we ate was so tasty. Will definitely come bacl
Perfect, welcome and meal very good
Dietary restrictions: Allergie poisson et fruit de mer Food
At Cochon Dingue, the word pig takes on its full meaning! The lunch menu is... dirty! Its tasty and generous! Each bite stimulates the taste buds and our stomach asks for more. Due to the exquisite quality of the dishes served, I pay no attention to the price, because the experience is worth much more than the amount of the bill. A must for brunch in very pleasant company!
We are coming back, thank you very much
We popped in for breakfast. The food was excellent, and my latte had pretty foam art. Our waitress was so friendly and sweet. There are several of these restaurants in Montréal and Quebec so stop by any location.
Wow what a wonderful place...my wife and I wanted a great French restaurant for fancy dinner after good night out walking through Quebec city...and we found this place....wonderful service by Gabriel who helped with menu.... The food pork chops and ribs ..excellent. It made our day and our wonderful trip. THANK YOU FOR GREAT TIME.
Homemade hot chocolate is a must. The poutine was very good as well as the charlevoix plate. The eggs were too salty though. There is some waiting time, but its still worth it.
Food was mediocre in my opinion. Ordered falafel, latte. Atmosphere nice and cozy. I wouldn t be opposed to return to this place if I m out of options on where to eat but it s not inclined to crave or go out of my way to eat here. Service was good though- friendly, attentive
Good food, attentive and fast service. Everything seemed in line with the proposal of the place.
Been a while since Ive been here but their potatoes are my favourite!!!
Fast, friendly and attentive service during our one-on-one lunch. Impeccable food quality. We do not regret our visit!
Beautiful place, near the Petit Champlain theater where we go to see our shows
Samantha, our server, treated us like family.
Excellent place to eat a good dish. The costs are high.
Kid-friendliness: There were kids meals with desserts Food
Parking: Stationnement de ville Food
Business is very good, but the wait wont be long. The food is pretty average, but the sweet potato fries are very delicious, please order them!!!
I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and had to return my dish because the fish smelled extremely bad and I tasted a bite and had to spit it out. I still have a bad taste in my mouth.
Kid-friendliness: Kids were 16, 14, and 11. Good menu selections for younger folk. Excellent service for entire party of 8. Food
Everything was nice, except the price :D Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options available Food : 5/5 |
Generous and tasty chicken dishes. Well grilled, fries good but a little soft and too thin. Sauces with innovative flavors. Excellent spaghetti with vegetables and ground meats. Friendly waiter.
Miriam was our server and she was amazing :)
Ground floor rear area was very hot and uncomfortable in the summer. Some flies were pestering our space also. They need better ventilation for a better dining experience.
Serve split Hollandaise sauces which is simply unacceptable for a brunch restaurant. We ordered eggs benedict and the hollandaise sauce was completely separated into two phases, on both plates! If you cant even make such a basic brunch classic, whats the point of moving to your restaurant. I regret not having taken a photo, nothing better than proof through images.
Ok all round
Its always very pleasant to have lunch there with friends!
The male staff is so kind. The ribs are really delicious too.
Our experience at Cochon Dingue Champlain was unfortunately sub-par. The two Pâté chinois we ordered arrived unevenly heated - cold on the outside with hot centres, like they had just been microwaved. When we brought this to our servers attention, the dishes were taken back for reheating. The cocktails were another disappointment - both the Bloody Cochon and LImprévu were so watery that we ended up sending them back after just a few sips. There were some bright spots: the Quebec Baby Back Ribs were quite good, and the Harmonie cocktail was small but delicious. Our server apologized for the cold food, but not for the poor cocktails. This gesture wasn t enough to make up for the less than mediocre experience. Considering the prices on the menu, I would probably not dine at the Cochon Dingue again.
Amazing service with a great server (William) The Quebec style baby back ribs were amazing (we ordered the XXL version thats the whole rack vs half), with tender ribs and a nice salad that cut the flavour. The steak frites we ordered medium but it came out more of a medium-well, recommend asking for it one level more rare then you normally do. Otherwise great place!
Great welcome and impeccable service! Very good restaurant!
Today everything was perfect, and everything is good in the pig! Vegetarian options: Several dishes planned
If you are looking for a complete, delicious breakfast at a considerable price within the area, this is the place, very friendly and recommend local products. Food includes coffee with possibilities
Servers were very welcoming, smiling, look like they all enjoy working together. Selection of food is large and prices are good. Great place overall. Food : 5/5
One of most memorable breakfasts experience. The service, food, atmosphere all excellent. Very reasonable prices (50 for full breakfast for 2 ) added to smile, attention and attitude of the waiters. Been there twice for the above and definitely will come back.
Great atmosphere, good service and amazing food.
Nice
French stew with English-style vegetables...medium medium
First meal I had in my trip here, my friend recommended me this place, nice food kind people good service:) Jéròme even made me a list of some good bars and restaurants here, really appreciate that! Merci!
A little long to be seated and then to be served otherwise very good.
Good but not extraordinary.
Service was friendly, at this nice looking restaurant. But the food was just not great. Menu options were vast and interesting, but everything was just ok and bland.
Had a great brunch at Cochon Dingue last weekend, made even better by our waiter who was wonderful.
I had lunch at Cochon Dingue and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of their plate. I also appreciated the restaurants casual atmosphere and fast service. This is an address that I highly recommend for a gourmet and hassle-free lunch.
Family dinner. We loved the cuisine which was very simple. This restaurant is well located.
We came to eat this afternoon with my friends, we had a great time, the service was impeccable, unfortunately I dont know the first name of the head waiter but we thank her a thousand times again for her warm welcome! I highly recommend this restaurant, enjoy your meal!
Parking: dans la rue Food
I found the food portions to be quite small, and the flavor was just average nothing really stood out. The waiter didn t seem very interested in providing good service either. This is what youll get for a meal cost more than $40:
Breakfast poutine was absolutely delicious, wife had a platter that was empty. Server was very nice and pleasant.
Cochon Dingue Champlain is a delightful culinary gem nestled in the heart of Old Quebec. This charming bistro offers a vibrant atmosphere and a menu filled with hearty, delicious dishes that celebrate local flavors. From the moment you step inside, you re welcomed by a warm, rustic ambiance that perfectly complements the culinary experience. The decor is cozy and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a casual meal or a special occasion. The menu is diverse, showcasing a range of options from classic Quebecois comfort food to innovative twists on traditional dishes. Their poutine is a must-try, featuring perfectly crispy fries topped with rich gravy and cheese curds. The duck confit is another standout tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and happy to recommend dishes based on your preferences. One of the highlights is the outdoor terrace, which offers a lovely view of the bustling streets of Old Quebec. Dining al fresco adds a special touch to your meal, especially during warm weather. Overall, Cochon Dingue Champlain is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in delicious Quebecois cuisine. With its welcoming atmosphere, diverse menu, and excellent service, it s a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy a taste of the region. Whether you re a local or a traveler, this bistro is sure to leave a lasting impression!
Cute breakfast spot, friendly service, excellent food. What else could you want?
Friendly service, great food. Making a reservation before going was a great idea as the place was packed - for good reason!
Ribs are similar to those eaten in Korea... What s really delicious is the seafood soup Be sure to eat it .
REALLY good food the pot-EN-pot was great and the onion soup was genial, really good atmosphere, and the service was really good and very nice, knew english so we had a great time Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, they have a kids menu
Everything was absolutely delicious with good portions and reasonable prices.
The cute piggy restaurant! We ordered the poutine and fried chicken dish. Poutine was tasty but chicken can use some extra sauce. Overall a good restaurant to try if you are traveling in Quebec city!
Charming restaurant and excellent service. I was not impressed with my meal, it was just another lunch. It was still very good! Vegetarian options: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: A walk home
Stunning
Lovely place dont miss it!!
Ordered the French onion soup and their poutine and it was fantastic! The server was really nice and kept delivering water to us. Will definitely come back when we visit Quebec City again!
I had a very delicious meal in Quebec. The staff were all friendly and it was a happy dinner.
Welcoming and pleasant place with friendly staff. The dishes we ordered (all-pig poutine, black pudding and sautéed salmon) were all very good. We recommend this restaurant. Cedric
Their kids lunch menu was great: quality and price wise. Appetizer, main, dessert and drink. Food was delicious. Loved their steak. A bit of a line up but we were seated pretty quickly.
Place was excellent! Made reservation for 4 early in the day for dinner later. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Didn t get our waitress s name but she was excellent. 3 of us ordered the seafood pot that comes with salad for dinner and it was an excellent choice. Very tasty and loaded with seafood. Highly recommend as this was the best dinner I had for our 3 night stay. The other 2 night dinners were also very good but this one stood out.
I ordered the ribs and the food was so-so. Around $27. I didnt order anything to drink and in the end my payment was $38.8. When I chose to tip, I manually entered 12%. I feel like Im coming to eat alone, 12% is reasonable. The rude waitress snatched the card machine from my hand and she said I needed to choose between 15%-20%. I am very unhappy and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The experience was terrible.
I had a very disappointing experience at Cochon in Quebec City. Our server, Maria, provided extremely poor service. We waited over half an hour just to be acknowledged, and despite signaling for her attention multiple times, she completely ignored us. We were dining with two children, who had to wait more than an hour for their meals, while other dishes took nearly two hours to arrive. There was no apology or communication from Maria throughout our time there. To top it off, when we finally received our bill amounting to $300 she simply tossed it onto our table without any interaction. Given the awful service, we chose not to leave a tip. Maria then threatened to call the police if we didnt provide a 20% tip. This kind of treatment is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this restaurant based on our experience.
As residents of Toronto, we were shocked to find ourselves refusing to leave a tip for the first time due to the atrocious service we received at Cochon. Our server, Maria, was extremely neglectful. We waited over 30 minutes just to be acknowledged, and despite several attempts to get her attention, she ignored us completely. Our children waited more than an hour for their meals, and it took almost two hours for the rest of our order to arrive, all without any updates or apologies from her. When we finally received our bill totaling $300 she simply tossed it on the table and showed no interest in our experience. Given the poor service, we chose not to leave a tip, which led Maria to threaten to call the police if we didn t provide her with a 20% tip. This was an outrageous experience that we cannot recommend to anyone.
We had an extremely unpleasant experience at this restaurant, specifically due to the rude behavior of our server, Malia. We waited over two hours for our food, which never arrived, and throughout the time, Malia repeatedly ignored our requests. Given the poor service, we decided not to leave a tip. However, after we paid the $300 bill, Malia threatened to call the police and prevented us from leaving unless we paid a 20% tip. Her behavior was completely unprofessional and made us feel very uncomfortable. We will never return to this restaurant and cannot recommend it to anyone.
Cold soup good service but they push people out as soon they can
Ugly service but they still ask for 20% tips. If you dont pay enough tip they said they will call the police and wont let the guest leave.
The food was delicious but not very different from others offered in other places considering the price. Excellent staff attention Kid-friendliness: There is a childrens menu
A little too close to the tables but excellent service and food
a pig is watching inside
Had a really lovely breakfast - the food selection was impressive and everything we had was delicious. Our server was super friendly and attentive and all of the staff were super lovely and helpful as different members of our group arrived at different times.
Its not salty or sweet so its good to eat. There are a lot of Koreans~
Even though I ate it 4 hours after taking out, it was delicious~!!! If it tastes good even after eating it over time, how delicious it will be when eating it inside the store... I ordered baby pork ribs and it was soft, moist and delicious.
The food was really delicious but I was looking at it while paying. I ordered a custom tip of 10%, but they took it away and told me to start again with 15%. I enjoyed the food and the service wasnt bad, but Im not sure how I feel since I only had to pay 20,000 won as a tip.
Pork ribs are really delicious. However, there are too many Koreans.
After giving my phone number and receiving instructions via text, I waited for about 10 minutes. They were very friendly and the food was good for the price. I recommend baby back ribs and arugula penne cream pasta
Well its really really great, we usually stop by at the start of the season..June to enjoy a lobster roll on the way to see my parents in lower St Laurent....We stopped yesterday..in October.. Well we found almost the same tasty taste in the mouth. The shrimp and lobster in a good, tasty and not wet mixture served on a lettuce leaf in a buttered bread...A delight, thanks to the kitchen and our server Jorime...hahaha. See you next June I promise
Great spot for breakfast! Attentive service, delicious and attractive meals.
Good dishes.
Very affordable, very good service, warm welcome
Very good chips and excellent service!!!!
The ribs were delicious, but the salad that came with them wasnt fresh. The fish and chips we ate together were terrible. The oil was bad so the fries were almost black.
We came Sunday evening and were very disappointed with the service received. The food was very good, beyond what we expected for this type of establishment. However, our server C. seemed lost and not sure what he was doing. Tables with another waitress received their food long before us even if it arrived after we ordered. Our drinks, ordered before our meal, arrived after our meal, although they were made since we saw them on the counter and C. passed by without looking at them. In short, apart from the service we were pleasantly surprised by the food and the general atmosphere of the restaurant.
Very kind
The main courses, service and atmosphere were top notch. However it left a little sadness in us to get fries that were not crisp with a plate starting at 30 odd dollars. For the price there is a good attention to detail. Waitstaff were attentive and serviceable.
we love cochon dingue! everything we ate was delicious and affordable.
Excellent breakfasts and they serve you in record time.
The food was mediocre at best. The charcuterie was sparse, the cheese bland. The waiter couldn t tell us anything about what was on the plate. The poutine was very non descript and bland
Pretty nice. Impeccable and correct restaurant and service. Warm welcome. Good food but not crazy. I enjoyed it all the same.
Great priced beautiful breakfasts with lovely service, we came back daily after we found this place
Delicious breakfast poutine! All dishes are well garnished.
Good service and nice place
Such a treat to be able to have a delicious and celiac-safe gluten free eggs benedict, and the maple sugar in the cappuccino is a must.
Good refuge during heavy rain. Nice and friendly meal, smiling service. Thank you for the welcome.
Excellent service from our server. Good meals, good cocktails. To try!
We were served by Annie very much appreciated. Chloé who is a resourceful and friendly manager who resolved our request perfectly
I visited it because it was a famous store, but overall the portions were small and expensive. The pork ribs in the photo are the largest. The food seems to have been pre-cooked and then reheated, and thats just the way it is...
Lack of staff or interest in the services offered
This place is super touristy but it is very fun. My husband and I came in two days in a row and we had the same waitress - she was a blast and the food was good. Would recommend to visitors.
There was a hair in my french onion soup and several flies in the restaurant. Nice service, mediocre food
Excellent lunchtime meal. Friendly energetic service, and the food was perfect. We spent the day roaming old Quebec city, then found ourselves back at Cochon Dingue for a supper meal. Different meals, different staff, but the same excellent experience. We will be back with friends next time. Thank you Cochon!
Fabulous neighbors. Impeccable service!!
Absolutely delicious. We got their famous onion soup and pork burger and carrot cake. Juciest burger ever!! Food
Had a great breakfast there. Very affordable and tasty.
A good quality franchise restaurant in the lower old town of Quebec (but there is also in the upper town). Large variety of choice from breakfast to lunch and brunch. Very good the soup of the day (6 $) and the poutine with local cheese. Also the french onion soup with canafian beer is good (12 $). Tap fresh water is included. The waiter was very kind with us. Good espresso coffee.
Great place great food
Amazing scrumptious!
The crazy pig is equal to himself, its always good.
Awesome experience, friendly service, yummy food!
We had breakfast here and were very happy with the meal. My husband had Lobster Benedict and I had Duck Benedict. My husbands was warm and mine was on the cool side. Service staff were very nice and a big bonus they spoke English thank you so much for that.
After a long day of exploration, Cochon Dingue is the perfect place for a delicious dinner and drinks! Upon arrival, my girlfriend and I are greeted by the friendly staff. Although it s a busy, packed Saturday night, we are able to get seats by the bar. After we are seated, we order some mocktails to kick things off. The La Passion is pretty refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness. As for the Spritz Zero, it s what I expect. It s citrus and sweet, yet refreshing to keep me going for more drinks! My girlfriend order a set meal with Seafood Bisque, Grilled Rainbow Trout Filet, and a Vanilla Creme Brulee while I order a Grilled Marinated Milk-Fed Veal Flank Steak. Both of us share the food, and overall it s delicious! The veal flank steak is tender, and the Dingue sauce (never had it before) is the perfect blend. The Seafood Bisque is decent. Personally, I think more seafood can be used! To top off the meal, the Vanilla Creme Brulee is fantastically made. It s smooth, not too sweet, and torched perfectly. Couple that with an order of Espresso Martini, and it s a fine dessert and drink! Overall, it s a comfortable dining experience and I have to give special thanks to David, our server. He s super nice, attentive, and helpful with the menu suggestions! Food is amazing, and it s definitely a place I recommend when visiting Quebec City.
Wonderful food and fantastic atmosphere
We ate here today for my birthday. The food was excellent and our server, William, was very nice. THANKS!
Very good address discovered for our first visit to Quebec. A pleasant and smiling team and an excellent meal. Special mention to François, our server. Thank you for this moment.
Very good service, very clean place
Restaurant with thematic menu where pork is at its best.
Very nice restaurant, with choice and good dishes. Almost perfect because the fries could be homemade.
Ordered veal cutlets, medium rare, and one was cooked so much it was hard to chew. Slightly disappointed since the veal meal was $31.95 each. The other cutlet was done to perfection. Server suggested medium rare and that s what we requested. Tried shrimp with curry mayo, good flavour.
This restaurant had good reviews, so I went straight to it without looking for much. First of all, this is a highly recommended recommendation. Our family of four ordered XXL size pork ribs, poutine, seafood linguine, and salmon gravlax salad. It was a bit much, but all the menu items were so delicious that I couldnt leave out anything. The server was very friendly and the meal was perfect without missing anything.
Have to try the baby back ribs at this place. Very unique with maple syrup!!!
Perfect experience! Everything delicious and very good service
Excellent ribs & Cesar salad, subpar service and hot, stuffy atmosphere. Visited late August. Food
We are used to going to Cochon Dingue Lebourgneuf. Yesterday, we made an exception because of the big Lotto Quebec fires. What a disappointment. The waiter seemed tired of working, no enthusiasm. We chose the snack menu and it took an extremely long time to be served. We ask for bread...there was none left..... Very disappointed with our experience.
I usually go for lunch, always good This time I tried it for dinner and was disappointed The presentation is beautiful, but dry without taste for my hot chicken which lacked sauce and pork hamburger which was just as dry
Food was okay, nothing that stood out. They have a price fixed menu option that comes with an app, entree and dessert. We were a party of 5 and was seated in the back. There was no air circulation, by the end of the our meal, we were all dripping in sweat. There were so many flies inside the restaurant and in the bathrooms which is extremely gross. Our waitress was attentive in refilling the water but service for the food was extremely slow. When we finally did get our food, we had to keep swatting the flies around the area which made the whole experience unpleasant. We saw many flies land on the cups and utensils on the empty tables around us. Makes you wonder how clean their kitchen is. Parking: There is street parking and a parking garage across the street
We ate dinner on the terrace (when it was 38 degrees Celsius), after requesting to be seated inside. The inside was warmer than the outside, so we moved outside. The service was good and there were activity books for my girls to do and color. We ate well and we felt like we were in Paris with the small round tables and rattan bistro chairs.
Great brunch and servers!
Very disappointed with the presentation of the plates. Cochon Dingue has already done better.
Nice place
It is clean and good enough space but very noisy and people talking loud.
Warm welcome, attentive waitress, as for the dishes we expect better and more plentiful for the price.. Expensive for what it is.
john taste tang I had baby back ribs and salmon tartare and it was truly delicious.. The salmon doesnt have any fishy smell and its very fresh!!! If you come down to the bottom of the Dokkaebi Gate and walk a short distance towards Umbrella Street, there is a night market with lots of seating and is nice!!! There are multiple entrances, so the front? Just find it and ask if there is a seat available!!
Super nice waiter, delicious ribs.
I wanted to sit at an outdoor table, but it was adjacent to the road, so I ate indoors. The onion soup was a bit salty, but the ribs and pot en pot pasta were both delicious, so I had a great time. However, the taste of beer is not that good.
The brunch is excellent
Great place to eat and enjoy a dinner. Our server was very nice and friendly. Food was great.
The server we had named Logan was the best part of our experience at this restaurant . The most polite server I ve ever had . Not to mention the unbelievable eggs Benedict , if you re in the area and want to stop by make sure you ask to have Logan as a server . I will be back for sure !
Big menu, tried the Spanish wine with the cauliflower and oat falafel bowl. Delicious
Fried chicken only had chicken no
It is a quite famous restaurant known as Crazy Pig . I came here wanting to try Maple Rib, and it was as delicious as I heard. It was my first time trying poutine, a Canadian-style French fries dish, and I found it quite delicious. The staff are also friendly.
It was very good, we spent a lovely evening in the restaurant and the staff were super nice.
What a pleasure to be served by Francis :-)
my go-to in Quebec Parking: Paid public parking right opposite
Waiters very nice. Distinctive flavor it tastes good
