205 Rue Saint-Vallier E, Québec, QC G1K 3P2, Canada
Bistro-bar de quartier, coloré, ambiance vintage et menu abordable et réconfortant.
Me and my friend visiting from Australia and we ordered the french onion soup (which was amazing and hearty) and I have the maple syrup ham and cheese pie and he had the shepherd's pie. Amazing traidtional local food and definitely not a tourist trap. Place was filled with locals. Only complaint is that the portions should be bigger cos we loved the food. Amazing restaurant frequented by locals and not a usual overpriced tourist spot that us visitors are accustomed to
Fantastic restaurant, I wish we had found it sooner! Prices are very reasonable
I came here for pate chinois(shepherds pie) which was delicious . The place is lovely to chill and eat and have a cold drink. The staff were welcoming too.
Cool retro vibe here. I got some amazing French onion soup, salad and a beer. Good food, prices and service.
Had a lovely dinner here with a family of four. Friendly service, excellent food. Highlights: French onion soup and pouding chomeur. A real hidden gem, and nice to be out of the touristy areas of the city.
In our first day in Quebec, we stoped in La Cuisine for a quick lunch before arriving to the hotel. It was raining a lot, so the convenience parking lot just in front of the restaurant was a plus. Also, they are very welcoming and they cook just in there that you can see. The food was so delicious as well as the dessert. Another thing is the concept of the space, they have a many different things to decorate the restaurant that make it unique. They reminded me my early years with a Mario Bro TV game that was so nostalgic. The seat and tables as well as the dishes and cups are all mixed which also made this place authentic. They provided us water in a bottler not as the traditional water jar. In the way to the bathroom, there are many music posters from back in the days which is pretty interesting to look at them and remembering some of them. We stayed there like an hour or so and it was a pleasure to start our journey in Quebec in La Cuisine. They speak in French and English as well. I recommend this place. And I feel bad that I forgot the name of the person who took care of our order. But thank you for your attention.
We stumbled across La Cuisine because we rented a vrbo a few doors down and the mouth-watering smell of the onion soup coming through the open windows drew us in. What a lucky find! The vibe is amazing, the service is friendly, and the onion soup is as delicious as we had hoped. I wish I lived close enough to make this a regular hangout.
I went to the La Cusine for lunch and my family had a great experience. I loved the soul of the day. The food was delicious and the price super reasonable for what is offered. Comparing that with Toronto prices, it looks cheap. The staff was very friendly and explained the menu. The space has a cool atmosphere. If I go to in Quebec City again I’ll definitely return there.
We ordered soup of the day (cream and pea greens that day), onion soup and grilled cheese. The atmosphere of the place was really superb, very decorated, lots of entertainment (without that stopping us from hearing each other), good music! The waitress was very cheerful and helpful. We got away with it for about twenty dollars, and it was very good, the cheese on the onion soup was nicely browned, and the soup of the day was very successful, well be back!
Delicious food and great atmosphere. It was busy on a Monday night so you know its gonna be good.
We love it here. The food was amazing
Food and atmosphere was dope - very cool spot. Service was lacking, dirty plates were left on the table an hour and the waiter forgot place two of our orders.
Pleasant evening, home cooking.
Very noisy. There was an office party...
Great first experience at La Cuisine yesterday! A warm and friendly atmosphere, more than generous portions and A1 service. THANKS!
I enjoyed the area. Its a quiet place, it was good.
I worked across the street and didnt have lunch so I went to get a lasagna for dinner, it was very good, thank you!!
Everything was perfect!
Top-notch cuisine I, who eat a lot, enjoyed the shepherds pâté
We tried a lot of dishes, it was great To do, it really changes from other restaurants
Very family, homely feel. The food is delicious.
Warm, intimate, delicious. We want to be there!
Loved this place! Had such a cool vibe and friendly staff. The food and beer were both a delight. We had the French onion soup and Pate Chinook. Both excellent.
First time here. Great service. Loved the food - not fancy, homey but really good. Our server was very kind.
The food is delicious and it s a great atmosphere
The wonderful variety! After a 2 week trip through Canada, this restaurant was more than convenient for us. Finally alternatives to burgers, fries, chicken and co. A very lovingly decorated restaurant with an extremely cozy atmosphere and lots of nice things to explore. This is underlined by the very friendly and helpful staff. The most important thing: the food! Here we cook like at moms home. Fresh, tasty and varied. There was really nothing to complain about but rather to highlight! If youre in the area, you shouldnt miss out on the food. Keep it up! In addition, the prices are more than reasonable. Theres nothing more to say, just give it a try.
Very nice discovery. Local dishes prepared on site, good and plentiful. The setting is more of a bistro. The two people in the kitchen and at the service are friendly and give good advice. The music is Good French music, good pieces that we dont even listen to in France anymore. Look for the error! All for a reasonable price... Parking: Rue Christophe Colombes you can have 1 chance of free parking for 60 minutes. Poker move...
Super nice atmosphere. Its casual and cool. Really well-designed decor and very pleasant service.
Perfect! Very friendly staff, more than affordable prices and very good dishes! We had the shepherds pie and the cabbage cigar! Super good! Special mention for the toy box which was made available for our daughter during the meal! THANKS ;)
The kitchen is very good. We had a great time.
The beer is excellent. Eating on the outside tables is very pleasant. Interesting dishes for me Italian. Last night there was a summer atmosphere. I recommend it. Good evening. Luca
My new favorite neighborhood restaurant in Lower Town! Wow! I confirm all the good comments and whats more the prices are reasonable. Yum!!!
well done bums
The waiter Léo is really cute and very helpful I will come back to see him often
Decor was cute. Food was well below average and overpriced. Would not recommend to anyone who likes to actually eat and enjoy food. We ordered a grilled cheese that was sadly made with processed cheese slices...so sad. We ordered what I thought was cabbage rollS...which came as 1 small cabbage roll with piping hot pureed sweet potatoes, canned tomato soup quality tomato sauce for $16.47 ...just brutal. No option for zero stars or that is what I would have to give in all honesty. Also feel sad they have the audacity to call this cuisine Quebecois comfort food Do not waste your money here.
Amazing place for great beer and some simple grilled cheese when we got there, the person who was working was all by himself and it was VERY busy. But he was very friendly and had a great attitude Also, the outside sitting area is dog friendly. Will definitely come back again when visiting Quebec city.
Sunday evening, theater improv, an excellent time with talented artists.
We tried the shepherds pie, the porridge and the pudding chômeur! And everything was plentiful and very good :) The atmosphere is atypical and that s what makes it so charming! A small terrace for eating outside is great too!
Interesting place. Kitchen is behind the bar, which was a first for me. Decor is interesting. They were doing improv the night we were there. Food was pretty good, however grilled cheese was smaller than expected.
Successful family dinner at La Cuisine. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. We tried the cabbage cigar and the Chinese pate. A delight ! And also very good the dish of fresh spinach salad cleverly mixed with goat cheese, walnuts, bacon and Corinthian raisins. Finally, the unemployed person s cake; which is eaten without hunger. Super good address in Quebec.
Best French onion soup I ve ever had! Yum! Great, friendly service as well. Cool atmosphere!
Quebecois dishes done to the perfection, DJs after 10, cool staff and crowd. The decor is retro which a nice artistic touch just like their food.
Magnificent neighborhood restaurant. The warm atmosphere created by its eclectic decor and friendly employees is unique in Quebec. The food is prepared with love and is always delicious. Improv matches, board games, drag shows and DJ evenings, its the perfect place for a beer with friends, a party or a family outing. Thank you La Cuisine!!
Delicious homecooked fare and friendly staff! Highly recommend!
Very good dishes in a very friendly atmosphere
A place that if you are in the area could try. No the best but good enough
What a great place. Very warm, relaxed atmosphere and amazing food at a reasonable price. The wait staff was beyond fantastic as well. Ill add as well, as we were with small children, we were somewhat concerned about a prior review that mentioned very loud music. We were here early on a Tuesday evening and did not experience this at all.
The onion soup and the lasagne are a must
Awesome, Great value for money, delicious food and very pleasant staff! I highly recommend
Top of the top. A warm welcome and gourmet cuisine.
A friendly place, simple but quality cuisine, vegetarian dishes available Great value for money and a warm welcome Vegetarian options: Onion soup, hummus
Perfect place if you want a home cooked meal feel, which is tasty and in a good atmosphere. Had the onion soup, pizza, and lasagna. Definitely recommended
Impeccable service, wonderful atmosphere, great staff!
Amazing lasagna and very inviting space!
Charming spot with nice homemade food and great drinks. Our kids loved the games.
I got the lasagna and oh. my god. BEST lasagna I have EVER had. Not even kidding, I was QUAKING afterwards it was so good. Ive never tried salad, but I did try the salad served on the side, which was also really good. The service and prices were good and staff were very nice. Food was made quickly too. The atomsphere is quite inviting and colorful, but even with a lot of colors, it seems cozy and warm, not overwhelming. Not to mention it smelled SO GOOD when we walked in. Would give 6 stars if possible
DO NOT GO THERE! We waited an hour with 3 small children for our food to be served. The dishes were dirty and the food was prepared with BARE HANDS not being washed. So many dishes broke during our visit that I lost count. When our food came it came burnt. While I was waiting for my food I read the 1 star reviews. One stated the sanitary problems which they said they will take care of, they didnt.
The most beautiful little bar and restaurant in St-Roch! The decor is incredible, there are lots of little things to discover on the walls. And what can we say about the atmosphere! The best red beer in town ;)
Very very delicious foods. French onion soup is must-try. Beer was good too.
Very good service, we went there for a colleague s night out and it was really cute
Perfect for a moment with friends, family, colleagues, roommates, in a group or alone. Start sooner or later. The DJ is nice. I ate a soup that tasted like moms.
I really fell in love with this place! We went there on a Monday evening last minute, for two, the welcome was warm. The place is superbly vintage, the kitchen is open concept, behind the counter we see the young lady, very cute, preparing grandmothers homemade recipes which she comes to serve us at the table, as if we were all invited to dinner at her home. She. The atmosphere is unusual and the service very pleasant. Everything we ordered was delicious and the prices are really sweet. Good quality/experience/price ratio, I recommend
Dishes cooked with the heart! On the menu, Quebec classics: cabbage cigar, shepherds pie, onion soup. All served by the friendly Ronan and Mireille, which adds extra soul to the place. At nightfall, the restaurant transforms into a bar with a dance floor, hosting different styles of DJs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It s quite simply the best place to go out in Quebec.
Funky and fun. The ravioli was excellent
I hoped in here in a rainy summer day. The lady in charge was so welcoming and kind that I felt I am visiting my sister. She was bilingual. The place is so cozy and have a nice energy. The decorative is pleasing. I ordered lasagna and poor man cake with maple syrup. It felt really home made. I will get back there again and would love to try all the foods on the menu.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Amazing hosts. Homely vibes
Food is awesome!
Its not too expensive, and the quality is always there.
Very good service!
Amazing onion soup!
very good place foods are all delicious. We had a very noce weekend here.
Sitting at the table like at grandmas while enjoying a homemade dish...wow! When we arrive we are bombarded by figurines, decorations, frames that remind us of our childhood. Just going to the bathroom is cool. The people who welcome us to this restaurant make us feel welcome in their kitchen. It makes us feel like were part of a big family gathering and our hosts are in front of us serving us their comforting food. I liked it. Oh yes, all dishes are $16.95 so no surprises.
Everything is perfect, from the food to the service to the entertainment!! The setting is great, the staff are ultra welcoming and attentive with excellent advice! The food is just super good with awesome prices! And the improvisation theater animation was the icing on the cake. I would give 10 , I loved it
One of the best restaurants in Quebec that is Very good in taste and friendly on pocket. We tried their onion soup, mushroom soup and cabbage cigar and two desserts all for 50 bucks. The cabbage cigar is a must eat
The parking lot is big, the atmosphere even bigger!!
The best! With an improv match on top of that, a great evening :)) taste the cigar and the pâté and have the great desserts, it s so good!
Very good restaurant which introduces you to local and homemade recipes.. excellent, fast and really quality staff. In short... a pleasant surprise and a new address to keep ^^ Parking: Parking 20 meters away, really easy to access
We enjoyed everything. A warm welcome and a delicious home-cooked meal in a truly extraordinary site. Cooking the way we like it!!
Very good food for a very good price. Its home food. One of the best restaurants for the price Ive been to in a long time. Try it!! Food
I was with my husband in this restaurant. we loved everything except the portion size. I had to order more. I was with my husband in this restaurant. nous avons tous aimé sauf la taille des portions. Jai dû en commander plus.
Best tomato soup in the world!!
Food was hot fresh and delicious! Music and vibe was great
We went there for dinner on a sunday night and had the pleasant surprise of a show from local improvisation actors. the food was delicious and the prices really fair. We had an amazing time that will remain a nice memory for a long time.
This place was heavenly. Like stepping into your friends home. Packed on a Thursday at noon. From the Lasagna to the French onion soup, everything was delicious. Very reasonably priced.
The atmosphere is just perfect, the decor, the music, the self-service games, its really a good place for a pleasant evening! Servers always smiling!
Very friendly!!
The cuisine, always a good vibe, good food, good music! One of the best spots in town!
Here for the second time, standing for 20 minutes, no one has even greeted us yet
Excellent restaurant, both in terms of dishes, staff and environment!
Really good atmosphere for dancing
You rarely find a place that manages to combine restaurant, bar and party so well, all with simplicity and fairly relaxed prices. A must in Quebec and we would be very happy with a place like that in Marseille.
Love the vibe The food was pretty good and the service was excellent. Its definitely a perfect start of our trip in Quebec. If you want to explore the local experience in Quebec city, dont miss out this one.
My favorite restaurant in Quebec City. A place that I learned from its surroundings that made me happy: arts, cinema, theater, culture. As requested, you are welcome to eat at home. Adoro o shepherd s pie e o croque-monsieur. My favorite restaurant in Quebec City. A place that reminds me of the environments that make me happy: arts, cinema, theater, culture. The meals taste like home-cooked food. I love shepherds pie and croque-monsieur.
Heads up for Chinese visitors: just go to this place, it will never let you down. Good food quality and reasonable prices far better than any restaurants you find in Red book. Vibe is incredible and service is prompt with English speaking waiters. Vegetarian options: Yes
Probably one of my favorite culinary experiences in Quebec City, and we stumbled upon it by chance. We had the Pâte Chinois, Cipaille and Pudding Chômeur and would recommend again. Very eclectic and friendly vibe. Lots of games available to play. They all spoke English as well.
Amazing place: the food was incredible and the service sooo nice. 1000/10
I had the carrot soup and grilled cheese which was only $8.50 total! Great price and delicious food. The interior is decorated in a very unique, cozy way. Definitely recommend!
A relaxed place, delicious food like home, the service guys are sweet. Of course Ill come back to drink good beer and dine on Quebecois food!
Been at La Cuisine while travelling Canada with my boyfriend last autumn. I m dying to have their recipe for the Cigare au chou cause was one of the best things I have ever had!! Please, let me know. I d love to be able to do it against back home in Italy!
We came to La Cuisine 2 days in a row during our short stay in Quebec. It s a place that really has a soul, which is rare. You feel at home in this room with its motley decoration. The staff is warm, the food is good, comforting, the prices are reasonable. It s a place that we would like to take with us, to where we live!
Excellent cuisine, welcoming owners, fast service, affordable bill... A must!
Excellent really good quality price and atmosphere!
Super cozy spot with friendly staff. The lasagna and French onion soup were delicious!
A great start to Quebec City
First time in Queébec City and looking for a place to have lunch, this one turned out to be a memorable one! A great spot to taste French Canadian food, craft beer and enjoy a very unique atmosphere.
Great food and service !! The waitress translated the menu for me and helped me with all my queries. Definitely recommend!!
We waited 40 minutes for the nachos which never arrived. When we said to the waitress Oh we have a little rush it wont be very long While the people who arrived after us were served before us. .
We had the onion soup and shepherds pie (pâté chinois), both were exceptional. So far the best meal we ve had on our trip. The service was also very friendly. We will be coming back!
The grilled cheeses are good and so is the beat
Small, simple and delicious neighborhood restaurant! For dinner it was perfect The cabbage cigar I will come back
This restaurant was so adorable. The decor and atmosphere was so welcoming and warm. It felt like I went to visit friends for dinner. I got the lasagna and hummus and my boyfriend got the grilled cheese and French onion soup. Everything tasted amazing and the portions were incredible. The staff was lovely and took the time to explain the menu in English and give us recommendations for what not to miss out on while we are visiting Quebec City. Highly recommend.
For a long time I didnt know how to review La Cuisine. All in all, its a place thats out of the ordinary, with a beautiful atmosphere, everything is quite laid-back and retro, it takes you back in time, in a beautiful and honest way. If you come here with a group of friends for a late night, in my opinion it is one of the best places in Quebec. There is a good choice of beers for those who like that. On the other hand, it still remains a restaurant, and this part deserves a little more attention in my opinion. The service is a little too laid-back and friendly to be described as efficient or professional, the food is more reminiscent of what we might find when visiting our parents who are very busy and tired from their week rather than in a restaurant as as such. It has its charm and a certain nostalgic power, like the decor, but is it enough? For me its not my cup of tea.
Really good, great flavor overall
Very very nice surprise. Setting, service, food everything was very good. Great discovery.
I found it here when I was looking for a restaurant and we were here on two consecutive evenings. Both times very personable and friendly conditions who took the time to explain the menu. The dishes werent the typical ones I expect in a restaurant, but all were tasty and served with a great side salad. For that alone I would like to award a 6th point . The interior design is very special and funny. If youre looking for a restaurant away from burgers and fries, this is the place for you. Highly recommended!
Excellent restaurant! The place is cool and the food is simply delicious. Do not miss the Croque Monsieur de pommes et brie. You will find some board games and videogames. The service is fabulous. Thank you!
Amazing atmosphere, great food, kids loved the Nintendo games.
Very welcoming restaurant, in a vintage atmosphere where we had the chance to enjoy a pop rock musical background. The food is very good, very tasty. I highly recommend it if you want to have a great time. Parking right opposite Vegetarian options: Delicious veggie chili
Amazing place! I recommend the onion soup, and the goat s cheese spinach salad, Mimi s cooking is incredible!
It s good, it s pleasant, it s a good atmosphere and the service is great. I highly recommend the onion soup and would definitely go there again on my next visit to Quebec! (Excellent value for money; we spent $40/50 with onion soup, a cigar, a spinach salad and a bottle of red wine!) Vegetarian options: Vegan chilli, Vegetarian salad, vege pizza option, Nachos
A great find, apart from the tourist traps, simple and efficient cuisine, good beer, and also, the charming smiles of the 2 people who took care of us :)
The staff was really nice, the pizza was good and I loved the vibe of the place
I recommend
Very friendly service. Generous portion and tasty food. Atmosphere that gives the impression of being at our grandparents house.
Iconic Quebec restaurant that I discovered a little late. We eat unpretentious but delicious homemade dishes there... And I dont know why but I like going there to find a little comfort after a difficult day. It feels good there, a bit like home, so I recommend it!
Very nice restaurant, well cooked, good value for money, friendly servers
Excellent address, simple and tasty dishes, dedicated and warm service! Everything is good, the dishes, the cocktails, the atmosphere, the decor, and the value for money too. We loved this address in Quebec!
Restaurant with simple but effective dishes. A great quirky atmosphere and very pleasant service. Quirky decoration also which gives all its charm to this place. Catering at affordable price and very good. Discovery of the little surprise dessert which was to die for haha. If I were from Quebec it would quickly become an HQ :)
Meals with a home-made taste, comforting, beautiful atmosphere. Great service. WoW!!!
Our waitress was incredible! She was very hospitable and very friendly. Definitely made our visit a 10/10.
A place with atypical decoration with a warm welcome and very good cuisine. What more could you ask for?
Great ambience. The place is small and quirky but cozy. There is an open kitchen with regular home appliances which is best. Service was prompt. Deducting 1 star just because they dont have much chicken options. Otherwise loved the place.
Chaotic place, although with a certain appeal. Good attention, but terrible food. The melted cheese sandwich looks like a student residence sandwich, two slices of bread with industrial cheese. Lasagna is a frozen and reheated product, with industrial sauce. The onion soup looks like a tetrabrick.
Very cordial, very good food. Reasonable menu, I highly recommend it.
Off the set!!!!
Our meals were marvelous; original and flavourful. Emily, our waitress, was delightfully cheerful and helpful, making our experience all the better.
Cozy vibe, great service, tasty food
Great home cooked meal. It changes from what we find. Friendly staff and great decor too!
Top cuisine, good atmosphere and beautiful decor
We brought our toddler and had a lovely quiet dinner at La Cuisine. Friendly staff. The food was excellent. We ate the warm spinach salad, lasagna, and shepherds pie. Beautiful side salads. All delicious. Merci!
THE place for good comforting Quebecois dishes. Unpretentious, warm and relaxed. fun spot for a real local and relaxed atmosphere. :)
An absolutely wonderful restaurant! Arriving at 9:45 p.m. in Quebec, every restaurant was closing, we visited 5 restaurants before finding this gem! An absolutely warm atmosphere, great staff and above all a truly atypical decoration! Everything I love about restaurants, Here no fuss on the menu of traditional dishes but very good, and above all a good atmosphere thank you to you for this moment
Everything is just perfect: delicious food, super friendly service and fancy furnishings. Any time!
Very good establishment visited
Beautiful
Atypical decoration. Pleasant service. Excellent dishes. Value for money.
Wonderful spot! Highly recommended! Great service, ambiance and budget friendly comfort food! Lasagna was delicious and filling!
So delicious I orderd lasagna and shepherd pie They were fantastic Food : 5/5
I have a great time EVERY TIME I go there. Eat, drink and chat, without breaking your wallet.
As a complaining Frenchman, I confirm that this is the best lasagna I have eaten in my life
Unusual experience guaranteed. Homemade food cooked in a retro kitchen.
Excellent surprise in an atypical setting. The food is simple but made with great care and in front of us, lovely staff, I will come back for sure!
Disco balls and all Could play crazy frog once in a while
Very nice place Fresh and well-made cuisine, very reasonable prices Lovely staff
Excellent and friendly restaurant with typical Quebec dishes (cabbage cigars, shepherds pie, chômeur pudding, etc.). I advise.
The food was very good. Super well served too. The terrace is beautiful and the price of meals affordable! Parking: Large paid parking lot opposite and a few places on the street paying according to the hours I believe.
Very nice beers and food! I loved the red one!
We really love La Cuisine! Hands down our favorite restaurant, everyone is friendly and there is a dish for everyone!
Like at grannys. Kitch style like only visiting grandparents you can find. Love the ambience and vibe. Food is very good and generous portions topped with a friendly service all the way. Important, last 3 days of the week a DJ animate the party and everyone is dancing in grannys kitchen, lights and party ambience included. For sure one of my favourites places.
Beautiful, intimate and unusual place
HEALTH HAZARD! Sat at the bar and saw multiple dishes being made on the fly with no gloves, and no washing of hands. We ordered a soda at the bar and waited 30 minutes. No one took our order. In that time frame, we saw how every meal was microwaved, baked in the oven, or grilled in a panini from the bar. Meals were heated by 1 of the 4 microwaves, one oven, or one panini grill. Talk about Chef Mic (Chef Microwave). The person making the food wiped his hands on his pants and continued dipping his bare hands in buckets for lettuce, carrots, and other ingredients to make salad. As someone who is pregnant, I was no way going to take the risk to get food poisoning. Dave Ramsey would shut this place down.
I liked the food that wasnt stimulating. The staff explained the menu very kindly for us who cant speak French. However, the seats were very small.
A small bar Good sympathies cool vibe nice atmosphere good music and DJ! Thats it!
On vacation in Quebec to celebrate our twentieth birthday, we tried several restaurants much more expensive than this one. And frankly its our favorite, excellent home cooking with a nice personal touch. Beautiful, well-stocked and well-presented plates. Cool retro atmosphere and very attentive, friendly and efficient young waiter. Really affordable. And whats more, the kitchen is open until 1am! Well done
Atypical atmosphere, a menu with little choice (for us French, strangers), but what a surprise when the plate arrived! We had two dishes to share (cabbage cigar and shepherds pie... slight preference for the cigar) and a soup of the day. Our taste buds were delighted!!! A very very pleasant and attentive waitress
Great atmosphere, very friendly staff, I recommend for a fun evening with friends
Loved it. Quirky fun place with wholesome food. Vegetarian options: Good selection of vegetarian options Food : 5/5 |
I love this place. Dj set, Ive never danced as much as here. The food is great for comfort food. The portions are reasonable for the calories to burn afterwards. People are authentic. 70s and 80s ambient music. We love it. Retro kitsch style and it always feels like youre here for the right reason. I have been recommending this place for a long time.
I love this place! The atmosphere is great, the food very good (I highly recommend the onion soup!) and also very affordable. I have been there many times and have never been disappointed.
Small neighborhood restaurant with beautiful old decor, good menu and good service.
Special place. Few dishes on the menu but very very good. Go there is you want a local taste of Quebec. Atmosphere is great.
I liked the food and the atmosphere. Great evening with my family.
What a great find!! My husband and I were visiting from Maryland and stumbled upon this place the night we arrived. It has a fun, eclectic vibe. Serendipitously, we sat at the table with the video game console. While we waited for our food, we played old school Mario. The food was delicious (didn t even take the time to snap a photo) and the server was so friendly and accompanying to us native English speakers. Will definitely go back if we visit this area!!
we got the lasagna, shepards pie, tomato soup, and nachos. everything was average: lasagna was mostly tomato sauce and not enough of the other things, nachos lacked sufficient cheese, shepherds pie was steaming hot geriatric slop (we still ate it all). tomato soup was FIRE though. relative to the other restaurants in the tourist part quebec city, i guess it was pretty okay for the price ($20 after tax and tip per person). the environment is much more memorable though. waiter was very nice, decor was so fun and warm and inviting. why arent all restaurants decorated like this
This restaurant is a great find. We were very well received, the vintage atmosphere is atypical and we feel great there. The food was delicious, we highly recommend their hummus and warm spinach salad. A real delight!
Nice place to hang out especially on Friday
