I loved everything! We were seated at the bar with a view of the kitchen, it was an experience that if we had a chef at home! The intimate atmosphere, the service and the quality of the dishes amazed me. I recommend 100%

La Planque has been my boyfriend and Is favorite restaurant for 2 years now!!! We are always very satisfied with the service, the dishes and even the cocktails. Our favorite option by far is the blind menu. It really allows us to try all sorts of things out of the ordinary.

We took the menu blind, it was delicious and really nice to try new flavors. The service was perfect, the advice and the presentation of the dishes were impeccable. I highly recommend stopping by for dinner and you can reserve a table at the kitchen counter which allows you to watch the chefs at work. A plus point for the salmon and vermouth sauce as a starter and for the dessert which we loved.

There were 6 of us yesterday who went to eat at this establishment and everything was perfect. It was so good and what can we say about our waitress Marie-Claude who was solid!! Everything was there, explanations of the menu, impeccable service, in short, we missed nothing!!! So many more laughs with her!!! Excellent evening on all counts!!! I recommend this magnificent and pleasant restaurant!!!

Disappointing. There were 4 of us and we ordered several different dishes (starters, main courses and desserts): everything was either too salty, overcooked or of little interest. In addition, few dishes on the menu and not enough vegetarian options. Only the carrot cake satisfied us. Another positive point: the large selection of wines. For a restaurant that aims to be gourmet, it is not up to par and there is no real search for taste associations. The setting is not particularly exceptional, at least the service was correct. Overrated.

Luxury restaurant located in Limoilou for more than 10 years, located in the former premises of a florist. The cuisine is always impeccable, placed on the plates with attention and meticulousness. First scenario, the plate of scallops ($27) presents itself as a fine painting. It s beautiful, it s good, it s quickly eaten because there s the equivalent of maybe 2 scallops. Less cute on the plate but just as good, the popcorn sweetbreads ($25) were delicious, served with strips of red endive which contrast in freshness with the fried sweetbreads. Very good too, the quantity was limited. Kind and attentive service. Beautiful dining room on the landing, with the bar area which dominates the entrance, theatrical lighting reminiscent of the Cirque du Soleil style. In the end, I ate very well but the price/quantity left me hungry. I literally ate again two hours later, which is not normal after spending almost $100 with drinks, taxes and service. What a pleasure, as much gastronomic as with our server. Very nice wine suggestions by the glass to complement our dishes, the waiter had excellent knowledge of wine and did not hesitate to let us taste it. The food was not only excellent but a taste experience that won over my French boyfriend! Very fine pastry that melts in your mouth. All attention was also paid to my lactose intolerance and once again, the waiter was excellent in suggesting dishes and asking the kitchen to modify them. In short, dont miss it! It s THE BEST!!

Our table had four different appetizers and four different entrees, each were unique and delicious. The presentation was beautifully done. The servers were excellent and the atmosphere as well. Everything was perfect.

Excellent service and very nice atmosphere. On the other hand, 2 things particularly annoyed me which will mean that I will not return there. 1. 4 main meal choices on the menu. On this point, it seems to be the new trend so ok, but be advised. 2. The quantity of food offered per plate. For the price paid, leaving the restaurant hungry is inconceivable. In short, very nice presentation and excellent food. Above standard service. However, I recommend having a starter at home before dinner at La Planque, or otherwise plan a late-night snack.

After a third visit to the La Planque restaurant in Limoilou, I am still surprised by the quality of its cuisine. The blind menu is definitely a favorite with excellent value for money. The service is impeccable in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Magnificent bar and special mention for the cocktails. I recommend to all food lovers looking for an experience at a reasonable price!

The food here is made up of very interesting combinations of things that I am used to and things that I am not. Somehow combined to enhance a familiar dish. Food is well balanced in flavor and displays the skill of the chefs that prepare the food. Drinks are mixed properly and dont feel overly sweet compared to many places. Service is very good but was a bit slower than I would have liked. Took me a while to get the check which made for a bit of an awkward experience trying the flag down the waiter.

Went here twice while visiting Quebec, in two different years. Quality was exceptional every time, service is impeccable, and wonderful cocktails (had the bartender make me a custom one, very creative). While everything was delicious, my favorites were the zucchini fritters (must try!), the escargots (such an unusual and great way to prep them), the cod, and the carrot cake (don t leave without trying it!!!!)! Also thank you to our lovely waitress for her knowledgeable recommendations and attention to detail! Can t recommend this place enough, off the beaten path from the main touristic attractions but so glad we came across it!

What a fun and delicious place to dine at. We were informed La Planque was a place more frequented by locals, and to be honest, that was the vibe we were seeking. We were recommended a muscadet wine pairing for the blind tasting menu and it was exactly what we wanted. The presentation and flavors were great, and the service was awesome. Edward was our server for the evening and he took exceptional care of us. Looking forward to coming back!

Good morning, I have known this restaurant for several years and it has changed a lot from what it was at the very beginning. I loved this restaurant but this last visit really disappointed me. The plates are no longer as they were, less tasty and smaller portions. The music is really too loud. On the other hand, the service was great! Damage

Best global dining experience in a long time. Atmosphere reminiscent of Jason Atherton s Little Social (London, U.K.) but the food here is obviously unique - local and Canadian flavours which were really imaginative and sublime. We had the white ham with mackerel sauce, scallops, beef cheeks, and catch of the day. The flavours just knocked me out and I enjoyed every minute of my food-induced coma. The service was also excellent, unpretentious, attentive and relaxed. Louis, our mixologist, was a superstar. Would recommend eating at the bar - it was cozy and intimate despite it being a full house, allowed for some banter with other diners and was a good vantage point to soak in the whole experience. Loved the hipster vibes and music which was set at the right level. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to appreciate fine food away from the tourist traps of the old town.

I sat on the kitchen counter, it was a pleasure to see the team prepping the food and see the beautiful flow they have in the kitchen. Service staff very pleasant and friendly. Catch of the day had cod and was cooked perfectly. I would have added a tiny bit of salt considering the sweetness of the other ingredients, cream underneath was delicious. Make sure you keep a spot to try their dessert. A bit further from downtown but worth it the effort to try this hidden gem. Merci!

The blind tasting menu for two should be called cheap choice for one person but shared by two. The waiter was slow to take plates and food were served very slow. Not recommended if you want to have a nice trip.

Excellent food. The menu at $69 for 2 is excellent (Tuesday and Wednesday only). For this price and this quality it is a treat. There is enough food. You dont feel too heavy afterwards. The quantities are perfect. And the bar! Excellent cocktail. You can ask for what you want and the bartender will make you a tailor-made cocktail to suit your tastes. Our server was incredible, funny and very caring for us. It s definitely a place to go and return to.

Oh my! This is a meal that we wont forget for a long time. We booked our reservations months in advance as we wanted to experience a highly rated restaurant during our visit to Quebec. We are so glad we did. The atmosphere is cool and relaxed. The service was friendly, genuine, and knowledgeable. Most of all, the food was absolutely delicious. The reviews say it all. Every dish was well thought of and composed. The ingredients and flavours were all at once creative and comforting. It was a meal filled with oohs and aahs. A must visit if you appreciate food made with passion. Will definitely be back on our next visit to Quebec City. Highly recommend!

The blind menu is definitely worth it, the quantity is enough for two people and the dishes at the moment were incredibly delicious! If you like to eat things that you probably wouldnt cook at home or that you wouldnt dare to order, this is the opportunity to indulge your taste buds and be surprised! We had impeccable service, we didnt miss anything and our server was very attentive, from memory his first name was François. A huge thank you for this pleasant evening and this delicious meal. I recommend without a doubt!

Went for the $69 Tuesday tasting menu. It was amazing and we still can t believe it was so cheap! We had it modified to be pescatarian. La Planque is truly a gastronomic must. The presentation of the dishes is magnificent and the servers are very competent and attentive! The atmosphere is very cozy and pleasant. Prepare your wallet for a good bill, but your taste buds will thank you! Especially if you have the risotto! Parking: Its a classic on Third Avenue, especially in the evenings since people all go to restaurants! It will therefore be difficult to find a place to park to go to dinner, but at least there is no parking meter.

very good restaurant (well camouflaged hence the name) on 3rd avenue in Limoilou. Simple menu but of very good quality, fairly extensive wine list. Everything is good. The starters are small, light and succulent. Dishes cover beef, veal and fish; my favorite dish is beef cheek. The service is quite quick and friendly and the atmosphere is more young thirties and relaxed. A great discovery, highly recommended. Parking: Easy parking in the perpendicular streets and in the evening on the same street (in front of the restaurant)

My evening at La Planque was spotless. From the delicious food & cocktails to the thoughtful and dedicated service. Its worth a detour if youre visiting Quebec city. The carrot cake and the house cocktails come in highly recommended.

Second visit, on a Saturday evening. Restaurant was about 2/3 full. Amazing food But we waited over an hour for our main courses. The waiter was very nice, but did not advise us it would be so long. After 45 minutes of waiting, we were told the steak takes a long time to prepare. Over an hour to cook a medium rare steak? Come on He did not offer us complimentary glasses of wine or desert. Loved the food, but this was a very disappointing experience considering we spent about 125$ per person. If the kitchen is behind, tell your customer and make the wait more enjoyable.

We had a fantastic experience on a Tuesday night at La Planque! Everything from the meal to the ambience was excellent. All of the service staff was so welcoming and friendly. Our server Edouard was a true gem. Very considerate and attentive. My wife is celiac and we were fortunate enough to be able to try the blind tasting menu. What a deal!! Amazing value and the food was delicious! We started with a half dozen oysters too (not included in the tasting menu) which were accompanied by two of their homemade sauces (chili lime and a vinaigrette) oysters were very fresh and flavourful and the sauces were wonderfully balanced and tasty. The tasting menu was just as good but I won t ruin the surprise! There was also a great wine selection of which we enjoyed a couple glasses of the orange wine from local wine maker Genevieve Thisdel - superbe! Would recommend La Planque to anyone visiting Quebec City! Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating for celiac guests! The gluten free bread was excellent!

An absolutely incredible meal. The staff was very helpful and accommodating of our language barrier, something I was worried about. The food was top notch, elegant, and perfectly done. Drinks were balanced and refreshing. Everything was priced extremely reasonably, we could not believe the quality of the meal vs what we paid. We unfortunately live out of the country but if we are ever in QC again well be back.

This restaurant, an institution in Quebec City, never ceases to amaze me from visit to visit. Whether it s the originality and decadence of the carefully prepared dishes, the blend of flavors and the quality of the cocktails: everything is on point . Despite this, my favorite part is the service! The staff is welcoming, proactive, smiling, attentive to details. We feel their sense of belonging to the establishment. Special mention to the fact that they pay particular attention to allergies, which is a game changer for me. I recommend without hesitation!

Great food and experience. This nice neighborhood is a short walk from the tourist center, across the St. Charles. Service was excellent! They don t rush you, but are attentive. The Tuesday/ Wednesday surprise tasting menu for $69 was a great way to try and share multiple dishes. Portions are appropriately sized to try a variety of items. The prices do add up, after multiple courses, though comparatively, it s reasonable and an elevated experience.

We dined on the patio with the street closed off and enjoyed every bite The scallops are a must. The flavors were great, good balance of textures and tasted super fresh. Shrimp and caviar were cooked perfectly. Pork terrine was something new for us and went well with the bread and leek butter they provided Overall, would easily recommend this to anyone and it is well worth the trip. We walked about 30mins to get there and would do it again Attention to detail was on point, made sure we had everything we needed but not so overcrowded. Big wine list which was a plus!

Une soirée hors du commun entre amis, nous étions 8 amis assis au bar et le service était incroyable, merci à Louis qui maîtrise clairement la mixologie, nous navons jamais manqué de quoi que ce soit la nourriture et les cocktail était incroyable, je recommande vraiment une soirée assis au bar lexpérience en vaut la peine! Merci a toute léquipe!!

Louis cocktails are a dream for the taste buds! The service is excellent, the quality of the food is worth the detour. The price is reasonable depending on the quantity and quality. Always a pleasure to see the cooks at work. Consider offering them a shot to thank them!

Still so perfect!!!

Was very half and half on this. Service was very nice! The ham appetizer was surprisingly amazing, I d get that again any day. Didn t like the tartare as it was covered in seeds which weren t roasted and had no flavour, so left most of that dish as it was also really under seasoned. What bothers me is the person that cleared my plate and asked what I thought of the dish (I said didn t enjoy largely because of the seeds and I barely touched it) didn t pass on to the kitchen to not put seeds on the beef main! That would have made all the difference, as now I m scraping off seeds from the beef as well. My actual server was amazing though so I don t want to take away from that. But wasn t blown away by the food compared to the past 4 days in the city.

Super nice place!

Chef at this restaurant must have changed.. This restaurant was my go to place every time I visited Quebec. Their signature dish is Soft Bread and its most delicious meat dish I have ever tried. When our party of 11 ordered 5 soft bread orders , all 5 orders were over fried ( brown ) and hard cruch outside instead of moist soft meat covered with soft fried outside. Chef who takes pride and respects customers will never let this overcooked garbage come out of kitchen. Even server knew it was wrong but told me that its chefs choice. Well his/her choice will stop me from going to this restaurant. Plenty of great restaurants in Quebec city where chef will have pride in cooking where no overcooked/burnt dish will go out. Other dishes which I ordered came out pretty bad compared to previous times I visited this place .

All the dishes and drinks were delicious and Marie was fantastic

If you look at the restaurant s website you might imagine it to be an austere indoor dining experience. Nothing could be further from the truth: we were lucky enough to be seated outside and the atmosphere was very lively and fun, thanks in part to the amusing antics of the large family next to us. My friend and I both had the catch of the day and were served an exquisite cod dish with cauliflower. We had a good bottle of white followed by an excellent dessert. This restaurant is superb.

Perfect place to discover

We did the blind tasting menu and every dish was unique and excellent, favorites being the artichoke veggie dip, the cod and the carrot cake. The entire experience was beautifully paced, our waiter was very attentive, and the restaurant atmosphere was the perfect combination of lively but you can still hear.
