Située au bord du fleuve St-Laurent, cette brasserie aux accents parisiens séduit depuis son ouverture il y a 30 ans. Son menu bistro abordable et sans prétention met à l'honneur grillades, tartares et fruits de mer.
Had a great dinner here! It was walking distance from our apartment so very convenient. I forgot to take pictures of everything but the crème brûlée! But it was all very delicious and great wine and great service!!
While the food was mostly good (with the exception of the fries and bread, which were disgusting), the service was ABYSMAL. Could not help but feel that we were being racially profiled, and thus not spoken to in a kind or considerate manner unlike the other guests in the restaurant. Did not realize being a white quebecois person was necessary to having a polite server at this restaurant. Not worth it!
Quite like many places in the area, it's overpriced and underproportioned. We mainly went for the view, we were expecting the meal to be mediocre. Still, I was disappointed that my 28$ duck meal was 75% salad. My partner's brunch meal was also severely overpriced for how small the portions were. Who serves that kind of brunch for 25$? The baguette option he chose wasn't even a baguette. It was a small ciabatta. You can find better portions and better food quality for less, that's for sure. I will definitely not be coming back :) Update after their response: 28$ for 75% salad is still excessive, even if my pricing was incorrect. Seriously, look at my plate. Would you pay 28$ for that? My duck thigh is about the same size as the ciabatta lol. The brunch was still mediocre.
The food here was excellent and worth the price and they have a really good bar menu. The service was not the best and it was pretty obvious that some of the staff were racist and pretentious. We still had a great time but I wouldn’t go back. The view of the river and the seafood menu is absolutely a reason to visit!
This was a lovely café/ dining place on the St. Lawrence. Recommended by a friend while we stopped in Quebec City for the night before heading to Percé. Would definitely recommend a visit or more. The cocktails were great. The mocktails were also delicious. Stepped out to take some pictures of the huge ship’s traversing up and down the St. Lawrence. All in all, great atmosphere, service and food!
Slow service, food was mediocre, nice view, a bit overpriced! We had the scallops and duck confit. Duck was very dry and seafood risotto was very salty.
can’t say enough good things about this place! we had amazing service with a great atmosphere. our service was a peach and was very knowledgeable of the menu. I opted for the fixed menu meal for $45, had absolutely amazing brussels sprouts for an app, followed by flawless tuna and ending with a delish chocolate tart. boyfriend got scallops which he loved, an AMAZINGly tasted burger, and the fried ice cream which was our favorite bite of the entire night!!
I visited this restaurant recently and had a mixed experience. Unfortunately, our first round of fish and chips arrived cold, possibly still frozen, which was quite disappointing. Additionally, the sauce seemed to have been left out for a while, as its color had changed. On a positive note, the restaurant had a pleasant ambiance and the servers were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Despite the initial food issues, the overall experience was saved by the lovely atmosphere and the attentive staff.
Very good service from Laurie.
Business dinner with colleagues. I had the blackned tuna steak. Wow! explosions of flavors! becomes in my top 3 the tastiest plate ever had! Bravo to the cook! Also to the whole team for the excellent service. Well done! well done ! well done!
Perfect as always! Its a must.
Top top top
I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. I am a Mexican tourist and I speak French perfectly. However, the waiter, who was tall and white-skinned, treated me in a rude and contemptuous manner. He made faces when I ordered little food and, when it came time to pay, he demanded a tip, despite the terrible service. When I spoke to him in French, he pretended not to understand. I do not recommend this place due to the poor treatment received.
Unfortunately, my experience at Café du Mont on December 18, 2024 was very disappointing. The welcome and service were poor and did not meet my expectations. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. I hope they will take steps to improve their service and welcome.
Great little restaurant!
Dietary restrictions: Service attentionné aux besoins particuliers, excellente expérience Food
I barely mentioned that it was my wifes birthday before she was kindly presented with a cake and candle! Bravo for this touch of kindness!
Perfect place to have a good time with family or friends. Very good service.
Its delicious!!!
Food was absolutely delicious, the view of the river was beautiful The octopus dish was PHENOMENAL loved every bite Food
Restaurant a bit noisy.
It s so pleasant to go to Café du Monde that we don t dare go anywhere else
Wonderful food. Beautiful atmosphere.
For the view and the cuisine, the place is interesting. The food was very tasty and well presented, with beautiful colors. The service rather average. Nothing that comes from an experience and the person who brought our plates seemed to want to get rid of them. It s nice if he didn t pitch them to us on the table. In short, a decent experience, nothing more. Other restaurants to try and I hope that when I advised my hotel clients, they had a better experience.
Delicious and rich meal
A bit expansive for what it is
Always great service and a delicious meal no matter when. And I love how welcoming the table arrangements are and that we can talk to each other without yelling at two or more people at their tables.
Beautiful atmosphere with a view of the river and the South Shore. First time at this place (on a Saturday evening), we had a great time. The service was very courteous and fast despite the busyness. Positive points: - Easy and free parking - Very good service - Good, tasty dishes. Nice portions. I give 4 stars because the dessert (tart) was very average for my taste (too much whipped cream). - Beautiful wine list. Nice menu - There is an elevator Negative points: - The chairs on the terrace side are quite uncomfortable. - The bread served was very dry. We were expecting good, soft, warm bread.
Parking: 2 horas gratis Food
First time with my boy and his friend
I highly recommend it
Travel 8 and a half hours from Finger Lakes in Central New York to visit this restaurant! Because? Because I read the comments and I thought it was worth coming. Also because I had nothing else to do these Thanksgiving days. Lets talk about how this is not about time or money, but rather a lesson learned. Atmosphere: fabulous, the decoration is very modern but cozy and warm. Lights and mirrors complement the furniture and spaces into which the restaurant is divided. Food: greasy, salty: duck salad and tuna steak. Beer: Belgian lager, super! Dessert: disgusting! It wasnt fresh! The crust is frozen and then Chantilly cream is poured on top. Attention: wait 20 minutes between the salad and the main course. Waiter: too many tables for him alone. I tipped him only out of compassion, not appreciation for his service. I throw the basket of bread on the table. He didnt pay attention to the food being brought to me. Thats your job! Ensure that each customer receives their food at the appropriate time. Location: perfect, with views of the San Lorenzo River and the port, as well as the opposite bank where Levi is. Parking was free but as of December 1, 2024 it will no longer be free! Day or night the view is Will I come back? Mmmmm who knows!
A little disappointing to be honest. The place is very nice with a view of the river and the service is not bad although a little long. However, the food is good but nothing more and the portion of poutine really isnt very generous... (I finished in a few bites and I was still hungry)
Always good, nice wine list and uncomplicated parking.
Great service and food! Parking: Parking will no longer be free from December 1, 2024... :-(
Ok the octopus starter really small. The tartare starter very good. Excellent blood sausage Very good confit The duck breast, beautiful presentation but the duck (medium rare) was tough and really had no taste. Very disappointed about that because Quebec duck is always tasty and tender if cooked properly in duck fat. Too much sauce for my taste. I had asked for special attention for my daughters birthday (candle on cake) but this was not done. The waiter (who was very good) just placed a piece of cake in front of her. . Again a candle would have been appreciated to mark the anniversary Overall it was good but definitely the breast should be reworked
The view of the river, the quality of the food and the service are the strong points of this place. Without forgetting the qualification of the waiters for wine and meal pairings, it s an unforgettable experience.
What a good restaurant! I ate octopus...wow, truly delicious! Camembert melt to also try. Our server.. a very nice and polite young man. We will definitely return!
Well done welcome. The service is excellent. The food is excellent.
My favorite restaurant in Quebec! Outstanding food and service.
Thank you Joanne a real gem
I went there for a family lunch and the service was excellent, very kind and professional waitress! Nothing to say about the food and presentation because it was perfect!! A great life too! I highly recommend this place!
Exquisite food and warm, joking staff
The wait was a bit long but it was worth it. Every dish was delicious. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes there is an elevator
Great taste and decent prices. Get your parking validated.
Excellent menu, the dishes were delicious. Our waitress was very competent and very kind but obviously overwhelmed. It affected our experience a bit.
Food is not amazing. Coffee made freshly was really good (flat white) but the coffee they had from the pot was awful. The views are nice. Duck confit salad was tasty but Cafe du Monde breakfast wasnt
Impeccable and very courteous service. The food is delicious!
Extraordinary experience, excellent service, diverse and excellent food. Breathtaking view of the river, Lévis, Île dOrléans and of course the boats.
Very good restaurant! Everything was very good; tartars, ducks and fish. Parking: The restaurant pays 2 hours
Nice restaurant, well located. Terrible lobster roll, cold lobster, hard bread, thank you for not making me pay for it. Camembert fondue good 8/10. Duo of scallops and shrimp 8/10 very good.
Atmosphere of this restaurant is why we come here.
Very pleasant waitresses, magnificent view of the boats
Highly recommend their delicious onion soup with a wild boar broth. Go visit in October for some spectacular views while you dine!
This restaurant is an essential address to enjoy a meal or a coffee with a breathtaking view of the St. Lawrence River. The Parisian-inspired decor creates a charming and relaxed atmosphere. The menu offers a fine selection of classic dishes, ranging from seafood to bistro specialties, with particular attention paid to the freshness of the ingredients. The service is welcoming and efficient. Café du Monde is a great experience to savor in the heart of the Old Port.
Hearty family brunch
A French service that pleases, a warm and pleasant place
Restaurant located on the quay in Quebec. Very beautiful view of Lévis and the river. Excellent cuisine, impeccable service.
The food is delicious, the view is amazing and the service is great. The plates are very generous Vegetarian options: There were vegetarian dishes Wheelchair accessibility: There is an elevator for people with reduced mobility
Excellent food, service, and cocktails! Great ambience
Nice place with a nice view, food was also good as the service, however I ordered a glass of wine and she just sent me the most expensive one (my bad I guess). I would definitely go back Food
We enjoyed the terrace at Le Café du Monde. The platter was great, offering a nice variety of cheeses, cold cuts, olives and dried fruits. It would have been even better with the addition of at least one fresh fruit, like grapes, but overall it was still quite satisfying.
Ive had better fish n chips at airports. Inexcusable to overcook a standard size piece of fish.
This restaurant is our favorite on each of our visits to Old Quebec. The food is always excellent. The most professional service.
Hello I ordered medium veal liver I got it rare full of tightness it was really ordinary never got back to the table I would have had a second glass of wine but I dried up in place very very disappointing
Very nice restaurant, very good service and the atmosphere is perfect. However, there arent many vegetarian and even fewer vegan options.
These good and above all a very good service
Brunch was excellent. The Vatican Benedictines are very rich and well served. The dock area is very cool.
Really nice place next to cruise ship terminal. Chairs and tables right in the pool about 15 cm deep. Prices are not bad bear cruise ships. No food but a truck not always open.
Impeccable service. We didnt have time to eat but there was a good choice of aperitif. Excellent sangria
Very relaxing place close to the St-Laurent, the service is great, thank you! As an Asian-style shrimp starter, delicious.
Magnificent experience. We were with two young children and we managed to enjoy your good cuisine and superb view thanks to your excellent staff. THANKS !
Thank you so much to this waitress on Friday, I think her name is Mylene. Amazing view, thank you for everything!
I highly recommend! Everything was excellent.
We had dinner for my father-in-laws birthday. Benjamin the French was our server. Outstanding service, welcoming with a touch of humor, around absolutely divine dishes, a memorable evening. Parking: Free parking for stays of less than 2 hours, but its impossible to sit down and eat starter, meal and dessert on a Saturday evening in less than 3 hours. But it is inexpensive so very satisfied. Except that access from the parking lot to the restaurant is blocked, so we have to go through the automobile corridor.
Excellent service and the dishes were very good. The view of the river is truly superb.
Good service, rich and beautiful place.
Very good tartare 2 delicious salmon
Very nice place, beautiful view of the river, 2 hours of free parking, very rare in old Quebec Its expensive, but it seems like $25 for a Burger is the norm now The salmon tartare duo lacked taste
View of the river.... wonderful! Parking: 2 hours free
Excellent meal, very nice atmosphere & magnificent view of the Fleure & Levis. I recommend the smoked salmon starter & veal liver. Very nice experience, around $75 including starter & shared dessert with 1 glass of alcohol.
Wow glass roof very close to the river with window open to the broken one. Impeccable food and service.
Magnificent terrace! Very good service, very quick at dinner. Pleasant meal.
Very nice cafe and the food is good Thanks to the waitress Johanne for her excellent service
Very good service from the waiter Benoît, good food and affordable price!
They have GREAT sangria rosé.
We went to take a break on the chairs in the water
The view alone is worth it - we left at lunch time - we had lobster shrimp rags it was good with good service.
Good service .
Excellent! Great portions for an even better price, super tasty, great service and amazing location. T Just perfect! Food
Choose another restaurant if you have problems going up the very long stairs because the elevator was working when I arrived but around 3 p.m. to go down it was out of order! Very good service. Good tartare Parking: Not easy even if it was empty you have to go further, double storey parking
Excellent restaurant! Tasty meal full of flavor. Pleasant atmosphere and attentive service!
What a fun place for kids and adults! We didnt have any food by the drinks were great and its definitely an experience! Highly recommend!
Cool
We took our drink with our children from 9:55 p.m. to 10 p.m. the manager came to inform us that we must leave at 10 p.m. because we are not allowed to stay with our children after 10 p.m. I asked him why you didnt tell me before, no second thought he told me its my directors orders, Ok where is your director He is not there . This is the first time something like this has happened to me, really unprofessional. Well rounded 0 service.
A must-see address, it s a real treat!
Very good meal with friends. The Boutin noir is excellent, the best ever eaten. Very good lobster roll as well as fish and chips. What can I say about Rose Ts service?
We only saw it from the outside, pretty special. You should take a look at it.
Great view, portions are a little small for someone with a good appetite.
Another disappointment at Resto Plaisirs. Still an ordinary, very ordinary service. We forget the basics, offering the drinks and then forgetting to serve them. The jam served in a cardboard cup , you no longer have to know where to save on a $25 meal (lunch). After Le Ciel and Madame Chose, I understood that now this channel is not what it was. It s now Resto Dé-plaisirs!
Delicious breakfast! Excellent service. A must-place to go in Quebec city. Parking: 2 hour parking free Food : 5/5 |
Great food and great location, right by the waterfront! Service was fast and attentive. Definitely a must visit dinner spot when in Quebec City!
Very pleasant place! It gets a little expensive but hey, its the same everywhere!
They chase us away, telling us that there are a number of cut-off times at the table, knowing that we were there for an hour or so!!! Racist act or bad service remains a question???
Nice location but super mediocre food and incredibly slow service. More than one hour to get out food on a Wednesday. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu.
We went to brunch at Café du Monde this morning (a rainy Saturday). A group of 10, all lunch menus. We arrived at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. we were not yet served (except the coffees) and for my part, I had to leave... I paid for my coffee and left. 2 hours and no plate, the restaurant was not full at all, we were hungry... I would have liked to be able to eat! The waitress was still smiling!
This is a tourist trap. The food is very average and expensive for what it is. Probably just a place for the view but not for the food. The server was not friendly. There are far better places in the city than this one.
After a long walk around, finish your day in this place
Superb evening! We were sitting at the bar and the bartender was super nice! The bartender was knowledgeable and gave us good advice during the evening! Fast service and very good food!
The food was exquisite, and the service very attentive. It makes me want to go back there.
Visiting Quebec City on a rainy Sunday and walked down for a late breakfast. Food was very good and the service was also very good. When visiting next, we will definitely stop again, hopefully on a nicer day to enjoy the river views.
excellent service, Johanne excellent person who served us, never had so much attention we lacked nothing.. A most excellent dinner!! An evening that will remain engraved in our memory for a long time . 21 years of experience! THANKS! Johanne
The kindness of the girls is unparalleled.
We showed up for lunch and had nothing negative to say, everything was perfect.
Not on our first visit, always so charming and friendly. This evening served by Benjamin...excellent! These tips for starters delighted us: Camembert fondue and smoked salmon carpacio The only downside this evening was the pudding I had been dreaming of since this morning (because I had already eaten it at this place), disappointed...the recipe was changed...too bad. But the Café remains one of our favorites in Quebec
What a place! The room is magnificent with a view of the river. Great atmosphere and very professional service. The dishes are fresh and really delicious. The waitress gave me a chocolate cake for my party, what a lovely touch! Thank you very much for this pleasant moment. Remember to book! Parking is free.
Good food and good service Dietary restrictions: Celiac
Stake, Salmon pillet, Quebec hamburger. It was pretty good. But I wondered whether this fries are Quebec style. It was awful.
The hostess will try to seat you in a bad seat when a better water view seats is available. The service from the waiter was good.
Food truck food with limited choices. Bartenders at the beer bar seemed preoccupied to serve us but the bartender at the cocktail/slushie bar actually went and got us a pitcher from the other bar. Hence the 4/5 stars, would have been lower if the other bartender didnt pick up the slack. Atmosphere- just look at my photos. WOW!!
Very nice atmosphere, magnificent meal and well located on the old port!!
Thank you Johanne you are adorable
Le Café du Monde is an excellent place to eat lunch, they also serve breakfast, at lunch we tasted delicious hamburgers, the soup of the day and a melted cheese with a delicious herbal mirror. You will really be pleasantly satisfied with the attention, service and excellent taste of the food consumed here. From the terrace you have a magnificent view of the Saint Lawrence River, the cruise terminal and a small dining area strategically set to obtain bar service with your feet in the water. During this spring-summer season these spaces are highly crowded.
I wanted a Quebec beef burger with jalapenio and tomato but they brought me a burger with jalapenio and tomato
Beautiful location and very nice staff
Excellent places
Excellent ! Homemade Hollandaise Sauce! Very good!
Only stopped in for a drink but what a cool setup. Tables and chairs in water. Just take off your shoes, chill and have a drink
The dishes were all excellent, the service impeccable! Beautiful quiet and relaxing atmosphere. When we arrived we found a good place with a bench seat for the comfort of the children who loved the food. The server was attentive and available. The portions were decent and each item prepared with care. Highly recommended.
Slllllloooooowwww service. They forgot to put our order in. Food was ok. Not impressed.
All the friendly people, the excellent dishes, the terrace with an unbeatable view of the river
I came on May 12 for Mothers Day with my wife and baby. First Mothers Day for my wife, I invite her to the restaurant for lunch and have a good time with the family. We arrive at 10:30 a.m. without reservations, no place. A young woman at reception tells us that we can reserve a table for 1:30 p.m. We agreed, but only if its a table by the window with a view of the water. She told me no problem, it was noted in the reservation. We were supposed to return to Laval this morning, but hey, we decided to wait. We stay busy for 3 hours and return at 1:30 p.m. for our reservation. Another very unpleasant young girl (MAELLE) gives us a table in the middle of the restaurant. We explained the situation to him, that we waited 3 more hours in Quebec for a table by the window, but nothing to do, it was like talking to a wall with a very very unpleasant attitude, as if we were going to eat free of charge and that she was giving us charity. Several empty tables by the windows, but no, those are reservations!!! And what did we have??? After making a scene in front of the other customers and telling us she asked and it was still no! A very professional lady dressed in a gray shirt (her manager I imagine) came to speak to us in a very respectful way to ask us what was going on. I explain to him the same thing that I explained to the annoying MAELLE. We would have left at 10:30 if we hadnt been promised a table by the window. She smiles, apologizes for the situation and prepares a table for us by the window. Wow, MAELLE you really didnt want to help us. Thank you MAELLE for spoiling this Mothers Day for my new mother, we will remember it for a long time. Well, the location is magnificent, the food is good, the service was good apart from the inconvenient MAELLE.
Amazing risotto and tartar!
Overwhelmed waitress. Excellent food. Little space between tables.
The view on the terrace is splendid but you will roast in the sun like a Tuscan tomato unless you get one of the few umbrellas. The service is rushed but somewhat acceptable. The food is average tourist destination fare. Nothing outstanding but fine. The mimosas were disappointing. The coffees were also average. It is very busy and noisy but I think it comes with the charm.of bistros. The decoration is cute.
Amazing food and great drinks. Staff was warm and friendly. Accommodating to the fact my French wasnt thr strongest and made every effort to speak in English despite their own ability to fluently speak it. Very easy going and friendly atmosphere. Reasonably priced food. Highly recommended!
What a disappointment. A friend recommended this place to us. The food is OK but nothing more. The real problem is the behavior of the waitress. From the moment we arrived (with our 2 year old son), I felt that the waitress was having difficulty (a lady of a certain age, with a tight mouth). We barely had a day. No explanation of the brunch. We realized this because the neighboring table was treated to bread, a magnificent delighted to welcome you to our brasserie and an explanation about brunch, unlimited coffee, etc. The bowl of soup (starter) spent the entire meal with us even though it had been empty for a while. Desserts are coming, we knew we wanted profiteroles, so we ordered without looking at the menu. My son was also entitled to a profiterole on his menu. She brings us 3 plates of profiteroles, telling us that she prepared them as for our son. We dont quite understand. Finally, the waiter who brought us the bill explained to us that there was a choice between 1, 2 or 3 cabbages. I would have liked the 2 cabbages but hey... my partner realizes that she didnt charge us for the 2 plates of 1 cabbage. Honest, he tells the waiter. The waiter gives us the bill again and throws it at us, telling us to check that everything is there. Had we known, we wouldnt have said anything! Sorry but it doesnt deserve the reputation they have and even less the 15% tip! Next time, we will return to l entrecote st jean.
Beautiful terrace with a view of Europa 2.
I love this restaurant, a great experience! Everything was excellent, the staff gave us good advice!
Courteous and professional staff, beautiful view of the river
It was a first visit for me, but certainly not the last, the food was simply delicious, and what can I say about the service, wow! Thanks to the lady who was excellent thank you for everything
Quebec Angora. Awesome
Ravioli, in-cro-yable !
Breathtaking view, very good service. Pleasant.
Good service. Beautiful. Welcome :) beautiful view beautiful restaurant
Always pleasant but it lacked a little refinement to mark Mothers Day. To improve by one more check to create a memorable experience! Parking: Very appreciated to have a discount on parking with the meal
Good food, well prepared, recommended.
The breakfast we had here was my favourite meal of the trip. Our server was funny, and the waterfront view from the patio was awesome. Great spot to watch sailboats, cruise ships, and the Quebec-Levis ferry pass by. The 1/2 litre mimosas were a great deal, it amounted to about 4 glasses. I enjoyed the Ile dOrlean crepe, the portion sizes were just right.
Love dining by the port. Beautiful views and yummy food. It was a great place for brunch. Their seafood chowder and salmon tartar was amazing! Definitely recommend trying!
