Very busy and requires a reservation. Crowded and cramped restaurant but well decorated. Service was great. Prices are high and the food was unseasoned. The cooking on the items was well executed but the cassoulet had no salt, and I could not finish it.
Went here for brunch years ago and had my first rabbit dish. Definitely a different experience but enjoyed my meal very much. They also have a lovely patio during warmer months. They get quite packed since it's in such a popular area so go early to get a seat.
Got duck sausage with braised rabbit leg And rabbit vegetable stew. Was soo delicious. Service was good, she checked on us periodically to see if we needed anything, was also friendly. Atmosphere nice, warm, cozy. Place is tight so I def recommend making reservations ahead of time. The dessert was caramel chocolate truffle- not my kind of thing but maybe others would enjoy that better than me. Overall- i strongly recommend this place.
As a disclaimer, we are not fans of wild game, especially rabbit or duck as is the restaurants specialty. A dear friend who had passed just before our trip, had recommended it. So when, without looking for it, we found ourselves standing in front of it, we took it as a sign and made a reservation to celebrate his life. It was his favourite restaurant in Quebec city. The ambiance and service were top notch. Our server was fun and very helpful once she saw our conundrum with the menu! We ventured outside our comfort zone with a wild game charcuterie board. It was good and I'm sure excellent for anyone who enjoys this type of food. It was well prepared and presented. We played it safe with the pork chop as our main course, and loved it! It was cooked to medium, very moist and tender. The restaurant was full and it seemed everyone was there for the rabbit so if you love rabbit or duck, this would be your go to spot in Quebec city. The creme Brule was delicious, as was the red wine recommended.
Came her for lunch and had a blast. The food was delicious with a great mix of familiar techniques but using rabbit as the main ingredient. Each dish was unique with the rabbit leg being the standout. The restaurant gets very crowded at lunch and even later in the afternoon so definitely reserve before coming.
It was very busy when we went, but luckily tables for 2 are easier to get. They do have a very robust wait list, they can send international text messages to tourists from around the world. We got the French onion soup and the Quebec discovery platter. French onion soup was very rich. The platter would have been better if there was more bread to go with the pate. We were not fans of the blue cheese, but I'm glad we got to try it.
Definitely recommend making a reservation. Visited for brunch Saturday morning. Very intimate and cozy spot. Ordered the French onion soup. It had zero flavor. Majority of items on the menu are rabbit. Possibly the worst soup I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, the service was a bit off as well. I don’t even believe we had a waitress towards the end of our brunch. Their cocktails are phenomenal though. Very beautiful outdoor seating as well. Even during the rain.
Came here for lunch on a Saturday with a reservation - the place is quite small and got pretty busy when we were there, so a reservation is highly recommended. We ordered the tout lapin tout canard (rabbit and duck platter) to share, and the portion was just right for the three of us. Found the rabbit leg to be a bit dry, but it was very good with the sauces. The duck was great (especially the smoked duck breast) and overall there were a lot of interesting textures and flavours which we enjoyed. Ambiance is rustic and cozy, and service is friendly and quick.
Cozy atmosphere, delicious food, impeccable service
The rabbit stew with duck sausage was one of the best meals I had all trip. The cocktails and mulled wine were fantastic. Elite dining experience
One of the best lunches in Quebec. You have to make a reservation because the restaurant is always full. We recommend!
Very good! Excellent and friendly service. What little food we ordered was very good. Def. recommend.
A must Not to be missed during your visit to Quebec
What a lunch I had it was the best dining experience I had while I was in Quebec City. Megan and the rest of the team were super, very friendly and accommodating , helpful beyond what you would expect ! Food
We are very happy to have found this restaurant during our stay in Quebec City. The service was absolutely fantastic and atmosphere was cozy. Our servers were very friendly and happy to explain the menu which focuses on rabbit and duck. We enjoyed our dinner and would happily return.
Staff is nice but you are pushef s little too much to eat quickly to free the table! The food is made ahead in individual Fisher and Warner up! So the Parmentier was a little dry. Good for Quick lunche but food is average!
Friendly staff and fabulous cuisine!
The scene was set in the Petite Champlain with the snow coming down outside while we dined on the most delicious rabbit and pork chops. We capped the night off with a maple creme brulee because, when in Canada, why not. Our server, whos name escapes, me was beyond welcoming and friendly, I felt like we were dining at a friends house. Truly a must for anyone visiting Quebec.
The ambiance of Lapin Sauté is lovely, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. However, I feel that the restaurant might be a bit overrated. We ordered the recommended platter, which was quite unique in presentation but tasted fairly average. The food arrived much faster than we expected and was served warm, which made us wonder if it had been pre-prepared and just plated before serving. The highlight of our meal was definitely the Sangria it was the best part of the experience.
Very cozy and festive place. The staff are very attentive. Come here eveytime I come to Quebec City.
Weve been there before, well definitely go again!
Amazing lunch!! Very warm place in the magnificent Petit Champlain district of Quebec.
Our last dinner in Quebec was at Le Lapin Sauté. The restaurant is small and cozy and warm with a fireplace. The atmosphere so friendly. The food was piping hot and delicious. I had the Duck Confit Parmentier and it came with a delicious leafy green salad. The portion was large. My husband had the grilled cheese- also delicious, and accompanied by french fries and salad. The prices are crazy reasonable! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Thank you to the lovely staff and chef.
Nice spot in the Old town of Quebec. The food is fine, compared to other places in Quebec - outstanding! The staff was fine too. I do recommend.
Very warm atmosphere
It used to be a mind blowingly amazing breakfast place but we didn t really have a similar experience on this visit. Sadly it lost its original route.
We were really disappointed with our experience with the stir-fried rabbit already in terms of the layout of the restaurant. The tables are really too close together. We dont have room. We found ourselves next to the door. We were in the drafts In terms of the menu card its a bit confusing. We were there for lunch and compared to the menu that we can find on their site. There is not everything on the map, it is poorly explained We had starters which were ok but lacking in seasoning, the lentil salad was really bland, no pepper, no salt, no vinaigrette. I took a gravlax salmon and Im relatively happy with it. Then we had a cassoulet so we cant call it a cassoulet. Its sacrilege. We are French and from the South-West region and here we can tell you that a cassoulet is absolutely not that, its tasteless! No dry sauce. For us, rabbit is cooked in water or steamed. In addition, there was a real lack of cooking!! On the other hand, in terms of service, we were really well taken care of for our dissatisfaction. Regarding the meal, the waitress offered to change our dish and offered us coffee. Good. For the waitresses! On the other hand, we still find it expensive. For what it is there are better restaurants, I am thinking of discovering in Quebec I think that in fact it benefits from their location in the Champlain district!
Amazing experience! Everything was wonderful!
Beautiful, cozy, spot in Quebec s historic Bas-Ville. Great service, fair prices, and the food was nice. Consider it like a casual gastronomic meal with some comfort foods (poutine, French onion soup, rabbit leg, etc.) for the less adventurous.
Extraordinary experience! The food is succulent and the service impeccable.
The Québec discoveries platter (consists of Duck gravlax, smoked salmon, rabbit rillettes, duck rillettes, Québec cheese, roasted garlic and dill pickles) was delicious along with the bread and salted butter. The Rabbit pot pie with fruit chutney was also delicious but the filling inside the pot pie was a bit underwhelming.
Onion soup was delicious! Vegetarian options: Delicious Food : 5/5 |
The restaurant setting was so cozy and romantic being seated next to the fireplace on a cold blustery evening. The service was top notch and made sure everything was fine. For my husband s birthday, he had the cassoulet braised rabbit and duck legs that did not disappoint. I had the pork chop foresttaire with mushrooms and it was simply delicious. My husband was pleasantly surprised when our waitress surprised him with their maple crème brulee with a sparkling lit candle. Overall, a special evening.
Made reservations ahead of time and were happy to be seated on time. Great staff and the food was magnificent! Rabbit was prepared with great care and the accompaniments were superb. Onion soup and honey pie was awesome! Would come back for more. Bon ap·pé·tit!
Nice quaint restaurant with amazing food and a good wine selection. A must do in Quebec City.
This place is timeless!! What a stamp! The sharing plate is delicious
As a child growing up in Saigon, Vietnam a place where it s always 30°C I could only dream of Christmas like this. A snow-dusted street, warm glowing lights, and the kind of magic that feels straight out of a postcard. Now, standing here in this winter wonderland, I feel like I ve stepped into the Christmas I always imagined but never thought I d experience. Sometimes, dreams take time, but when they come true, they feel even more special.
Small, warm inn-style restaurant. Food, service, atmosphere, everything is there.
A MUST PLACE TO EAT IN QUEBEC! Make a reservations early so you don t miss out!! The honey pie is truly amazing as well as all the other menu selections.
Excellent food and quiet atmosphere ideal for lunch!
Really disappointed with the food, its weird because it has no taste, from rabbit to duck, nothing, I was expecting something tasty and I was really surprised by the absence flavor, I do not recommend
A very cute, cozy restaurant in the heart of Quartier Petit Champlain. Since we have never tried rabbit meat earlier, we decided to try out the Rabbit Rillettes at first. It was absolutely delicious! We actually went back the next day to try another dish and this time we tried the Rabbit poutine and the maple crème brûlée. Both were very very yummy! A must visit if you are in Quebec city. The ambience is lovely and the service is great too! Were so glad we chose this place.
An adorable little place with excellent and lively service and the food was perfectly luxurious comfort-food.
Food was delicious and atmosphere was warm amd welcoming. Would recommend getting reservations as it is a small place. We had the taste platter with duck, rabbit, salmon and cheese.
It was the first time tried rabbit! The rabbit was a bit dry but the sauce was not bad. Duck sausage was not bad as well. I loved the French onion soup!!! Overall feels like really well-made home-style health dishes.
Excellent service. The staff were very welcoming. Very nice, intimate restaurant located in Petit Champlain. We ate very well. Great experience.
I was hesitant about trying La Latin Sauté because it is on the main tourist drag, but I was proved wrong. The food was delicious and the service was superb. GET THE SALTED HONEY PIE! You will not regret it. I am still thinking about it two weeks later.
Food was amazing, drinks that were recommended by our server 5star, servuce from waiter was awsome and food was amazing 10/10 would recommend
We had a fantastic time at Le Lapin Sauté. The food was delicious, the servers were kind and attentive. The onion soup was a standout, but it was the honey tarte that blew us away. It was one of the best desserts we ve ever had. Absolutely would recommend getting it at the end of your meal!
Beautiful, quaint little restaurant with wonderful staff and excellent food!
It s a bit touristy but so worth it!! Good food, great service and amazing ambiance. Food
Delicious restaurant!! We had the rabbit and duck sharing plate, and every ingredient was delicious! The sides and sauces too and they went well with the meat. Very attentive service and cloakroom for coats. I will definitely go back!! :)
The staff was top notch and the food was delicious!
It was nice and delicious of course!
Cozy with excellent food. One of the best fish dishes I have ever had. The rabbit stew was perfect for a cold evening.
New menu, I highly recommend the duck parmentier! Simply delicious! You will not be disappointed! Impeccable service from all employees, a true 5 star well deserved! It was my first time and definitely not the last!
Very warm restaurant, pleasant staff. The map is excellent. We will definitely come back.
My wife & I are in Old Quebec for 7 days. We never complain. We have eaten out for 5 days, and this restaurant was by far the worst. The service was terrible; the girls were more interested in their own conversation than giving basic customer service. They never even came back to ask if we wanted more coffee. We arrived at 10am and were told that we needed to leave by 11am due to other reservations, which was ok with us. We ordered quickly, but it took over 20 minutes to get a basic breakfast, leaving perhaps 15-20 minutes to eat. At 11am, there were 6 empty tables so we asked the server and were told we did not need to leave quickly. Why the change? The food was barely just ok. The ambiance was very nice, however, and the restroom was clean. The service was so bad we will never return there. The servers need a lesson in customer service 101.
Small but cozy atmosphere, service was absolutely fantastic, and the food was great. The salted honey pie was recommended by 2 employees for dessert and it was incredible!
Magnificent little restaurant, a very friendly welcome despite the crowds to deal with, and an excellent meal.
Its delicious. I want to eat it. Its very fat. The rabbit meat is very juicy. The duck meat is also filling. The cheese is also very fat. The bread is very delicious. Its a good thing for grinding teeth. Its so delicious that it wont even take the medicine!
Such a lovely experience! The wait staff were exceptionally helpful and attentive, offered up suggestions for food and drink, took our coats when we got there, checked in on us and made friendly conversation. The atmosphere was lovely and intimate, the decor was very cute and all garden and rabbit themed, which I loved. The food was SO GOOD. We had the plate of rabbit and duck and it was a fun experience. For dessert we had the maple crème brûle and it was the best I ve had. I would absolutely come back here as it was the best dining experience I ve had in the city.
4.5 / 5 Their rabbit poutine is a bit cold to my liking
Delicious Casserole Vegetarian options: Only pasta with vegetables, fair enough Food : 5/5 |
Good restaurant Good service Good food 100% recommend
Excellent and I intend to return the waiter was very friendly energetic and very kind the food excellent thank you very much what a great time. And you have to book to be sure of getting a place because its full.
I have just left this restaurant and beyond my plate of Rabbit Rabiole which was absolutely succulent, the service was IMPECCABLE! Truly, best service I have had in a long, long time. The enthusiasm and energy of the young woman and young man who welcomed me reconciled me with customer service! Honestly, well done! Oh yes! Try the honey tart delicious!
We ate like kings, each butcher was a delight in the mouth, the staff and impeccable service
The food is not good, bland, poorly cooked, poorly cooked. The restaurant in no way deserves its high rating. We ate on the terrace with a vegetarian friend. She had the vegetable pasta and I had the leek soup then the rabbit cassoulet. - There are few vegetarian options, which can be excused given the name of the restaurant - the pasta dish: the vegetables are not cooked, the tails of the asparagus have not been removed so that some pieces are very stringy and inedible. - cassoulet: No taste. I had to add a lot of salt and pepper on the spot to try to find something. I took the rest to take home and had to add a lot of pepper, chicken broth and Provence herbs to try to enhance the dish and make it edible. I dont understand this lack of taste. Even the Toulouse sausage and rabbit were completely bland. The poorly cooked rabbit seemed boiled in water (for a restaurant that claims to be a rabbit specialist, Im really surprised). - service: my spoon fell in front of the waitress who did not offer to change it. - Almost $70 for soup and cassoulet is excessive when the quality is no higher than a basic quantity. - the setting and location are very good Im sorry to post such a harsh comment but I hope you will improve the quality of the food because location is not everything.
Great lil spot in old Quebec. Perfectly located. Cozy simple charming
Excellent experience. I loved the rabbit and duck confit cassoulet. Impeccable service. The heated terrace which allows you to have your meal outside despite the gloomy weather appealed to me. Only downside: the tables are too small.
What a nice place. The food is excellent and very well recommended by the excellent servers. Friendly and warm service. The atmosphere on the terrace is really cool. Truly a restaurant to discover. I recommend the rabbit poutine with two mustard sauce.
Wouldn t let us get coffee. Lied to us that it was a law that they had to serve food. Awful. Whole restaurant was empty.
I went to this place because of the good comments, I found the food good but it was nothing exceptional, the atmosphere is pleasant, it is right in the tourist area, I was left wondering if they gave bread or if I had to pay for it, because some tables had it and others had it. No, in my case they didnt put me there.
Great dishes at good prices. The onion soup is probably the best Ive ever eaten. The friendly staff will take care of you from the moment you enter. You can feel the amazing atmosphere of the place.
Nothing to complain about, just perfect
Located on the popular Rue du Petit Champlain, this quaint French bistro felt very on theme with the charming traditional Quebec City architecture so synonymous with this location. The authentic tastes of their food left an equally memorable impression on us. We were lucky to grab a table for two early in the evening for dinner. The restaurant was full of guests but there remained a pleasant, cozy ambience with its gentle lighting as well as a clear view through the windows to the street out front. The staff helping us was friendly and patient when we gave our orders in English. To start, we had the French Onion Soup and Cheese Fondue and those came with plenty of fresh bread and butter. The cheese in the soup was stringy and different from the cheese in the fondue. The rich onion flavours in the soup also made it a great dip for the bread. Together with our delightful cocktails, anticipation for the mains was building. The rabbit themed signage at the door and on the menu made an obvious dish suggestion. We ordered the Rabbit Leg Cassoulet and the Duck Cured Meats Platter as our mains. The cassoulet was cooked well and the rabbit leg was juicy and tender. There were plenty of vegetables which added heft to the hearty stock. The Cured Meats Platter was beautifully arranged and tasted as good as it looked. It was a lot of fun mixing and matching the different meats and crackers as we worked our way around the platter. Overall, we really felt having dinner here made our short stay in Quebec City a memorable experience. We would recommend it to anyone, but especially to anyone who is not the most au fait with French cuisine.
Beautiful setting and pleasant service. We had a great time in this charming restaurant. The dishes were good.
The food was good. My meat was a bit overcooked and at some places burned but the rest was really good. My husband also thinks that his meat was a bit overcooked but the rest was really good. The music was a bit too loud for me (noise sensitive).
Beautiful, welcoming and characteristic. Good food and friendly staff. Ideal for tasting uncommon dishes.
great option !! service is excellent.
Lovely dinner and location, the service was very welcoming and attentive despite the bustle. The food was delicious!! Highly recommend!
We liked our meal (rabbit and duck), but nothing extraordinary. Given the price for what we ate, its unlikely well go back.
Excellent soup, cassoulet and salted honey pie
Cassoulet and foie gras. Wine and local beer. Most excellent nosh.
The store is pretty. I had rabbit legs and duck legs, and they are not much different from regular chicken legs. Although it was a little expensive, it was a good experience.
Excellent evening in September 2024 on a very pretty terrace We ate very well Good address.
Excellent value for money, we had a great time, the service was top notch, nothing to say, only compliments. Thank you
Delicious French onion soup
We enjoyed our meal. Good food, pleasant atmosphere and friendly service.
Great little place, was sitting inside. Restaurant is from 1988! It was good, we ordered things we normally wouldnt have and loved it. Would recommend
I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant! A reservation is definitely a must, especially during the holiday season, as it gets quite busy. Theres paid parking available outside, just few steps lead to the street side, which is convenient to majority of people. The food was absolutely delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend trying the foie gras and rabbit both were outstanding. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the overall wonderful atmosphere. Definitely a place worth visiting!
elegant place food is great.
Simply fantastic
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian salad and pasta available. Not much for vegans. Food
Very different experience Basically only Rabbit and duck meat dishes Dont go if you dont like it Food : 4/5
Crispy stewed rabbit meat is still good, just like onion soup. I brought two rabbit legs with me, but I didnt expect any seasoning, but it was very fragrant. The small restaurant is lovely and romantic, and it is worth punching in here.
The atmosphere of this place was just what we needed on a rainy night - we sat at the balcony and listened to the rain while eating hearty food. The food itself is not mind-blowing, but is good and the portions are generous. The cassoulet for one was big enough to feed us both, which was great, but the dish itself did not feel cohesive... As if every part was cooked separately. The onion soup was good, but there was more bread than soup. Overall a nice place to stop for dinner.
They had no duck left and they recommended the rabbit, it was very delicious. Totally recommended. And for dessert I recommend the Crème brûlée, excellent.
I sat down at this restaurant and it took them an hour to prepare my food, and the waitress waited until I asked her to tell me that the kitchen made a mistake. Who wants to spend 2 hrs at a restaurant when traveling and have places to visit? For some mediocre food
Rude personnel
Good place to eat good food Book to eat on the outdoor terrace Professional staff
Good location. nice view. Service is fast but The waitress with the blonde hair gave me weird look and said oh no service for leaving no tip because simply I was not impressed with their lack of catering. They did not inform us that the soup comes cold we did not know. They did not inform us that the poke salmon is not cooked. We asked to heat up the food they refused.
Great atmosphere in the heart of Quebec City, delicious food and an amazing service!
Friendly, warm service. Cozy atmosphere. Everything u want for a bistro experience.
Very good restaurant in which I was able to taste the best Poutine in Quebec! A small downside on the dessert which was less worth the detour (poached pear), but all the starters and main courses are really worth it. THANKS.
If you re looking for a good meal, definitely check this place out.
Great restaurant. Atmosphere and quality. THANKS !
10/10 would go again. solid stuff, lovely atmosphere
The rabbit leg tasted nothing. Zero point on the foods.
We were asked to wait 25 minutes and go have a drink at the Petit Champlain theater, but after 5 minutes we were told that the table was ready. Arriving at Lapin Sauté, Catherine apostrophes us with her very angry look, insulted that we had a drink to finish, with such persistence we had to leave the place... We were very good customers of the pleasure restaurants ...
English English I liked the rabbit meet and the turkey! But this restaurant is very overrated. The food was good, but the amount of the food was very disappointing. I had to eat other stuff from other restaurants. Korean The rabbit meat and fried turkey are delicious... but theyre so overrated! The food is good, but the price is... you have to order a little and go out and eat something else.
Everything was perfect here
The food wasnt a wow, it wasnt enough as well. The staff excluding one that wasnt serving us actually were very rude and impolite. We felt very uncomfortable interacting with them. I wouldnt go to this restaurant again if I ever came back.
What a wonderful encounter this restaurant is, the meal a treat and best of all, a waitress on the terrace who rewarded us with her good humor and her smile, if you pass by, dont hesitate, on the other hand, book!
Strongly recommend this little gem in Old Quebec. We stopped here to have cocktails and a cheese plate. If the weather is good, the outdoor courtyard is beautiful and there is often live music nearby.
The menu is diverse and plentiful.
We were lucky to find a spot here when we went, because the food is great and there were many people in the city when we went. If you want to try more authentice french/quebec food this is the place. Cant go wrong with Le Lapin Sauté.
Delicious! My partner and I had a great time. I was quite hungry when I got there, but I felt no hunger for 24 hours after eating. Our server was very funny and quick and kept us happy. We came in around noon but no spots were open so we came back at 1:15. A tip: before you send pictures of the rabbit poutine to your friends, make sure none of them have pet rabbits who passed away that morning. My partner says it was a hilarious mistake. Quebec cheese fondue with crispy onions: wonderful fondue. Rabbit poutine main course: delectable, and a huge size. I couldnt finish it all, even with help from my partner. Maple crème brûlée: bland and too burnt for my taste. Smoked duck breast: my partner had it and said it was disappointingly cold, but good other than that. Rabbit pot pie: my partner loved it. On her first bite, she made a face that made me jealous of the pie. Salted honey pie: my partner said it was great but too salted. I had a bite and it was delicious. Total bill: $126.94 after 15% tip and taxes.
Really lovely service and menu options. Food was delicious but the starter we chose was very small, especially when it was quite expensive. We sat outside which was lovely but there was no music etc. so felt like the atmosphere was lacking a little. I will, however, say the Maple Syrup Creme Brûlée is worth the visit alone!!
Great place. An excellent menu and gluten-free option as well. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free option.
Beautiful spot. Food was good. First time having rabbit. Felt somewhat rushed.
Being here many times, getting more disappointed each time. Cannot believe the reception holding ppl waiting in front of the door for at least 10 minutes even there are lots of spare tables at around 3pm. Ridiculous!!!seriously not recommend this one. Typically over rated. the bad service is ruining this place.
We had dinner outside on the beautiful patio facing the courtyard. We ordered a few appetizers (the gazpacho and the foie gras) and the rabbit cassoulet to share, as well as beer and wine. An altogether beautiful meal in a beautiful setting, set just apart from the fray. The service was impeccable, too.
This was the perfect place for our last dinner in Quebec City. Definitely requires a reservation because the inside is small but jam packed with tables. We arrived a little early but we enjoyed sitting at the courtyard right next to the restaurant listening to a street music performer. Once we were seated our waitress was SO lovely even as she maneuvered around all the tight corners to all the tables. She suggested sparkling wine to start and we couldn t resist! Everything we had was so good (the fondue especially - I could have ordered this again as a main! Their specialty is rabbit and duck and we should have tried them, but we stuck with the fish and chicken options. Still very good. A little disappointed in the desserts, but we were also quite full at that point. Such cute decor and ambiance even as the night died down closer to closing. Worth it to visit!
Food: Alright and comparable to many of the restaurants in the area, burger was average however the poutine I got could best be described as having rib sauce for gravy, far too salty and sour. Service: Managed to mess up my order and then leave me with my hand up for 15 minutes waiting for someone to come over. (The restaurant was not busy we were one of 2 tables inside and the patio was not full) Atmosphere: Average bar a little dark on the inside but not much to complain about
Beautiful place, exceptional outdoor terrace but you must arrive before 11:45 a.m. otherwise wait 1 hour min. Very good food, reasonable prices, $150 including tax for 4.4 courses, 4 drinks and 2 coffees.
Very nice, the place is super warm and the service is perfect. (Attached the Burger de lIsle)
Le Lapin Sauté is a lovely restaurant in one of the most lively streets in old Quebec. The decor inside is eclectic and the outdoor terrace is enchanting with its greenery, dangling lights, and view of the people enjoying the small square in front and musicians playing live music. Our server was incredibly friendly and let us practice our French without getting impatient. Their Bordeaux is lovely and their rabbit dishes look wonderful. Perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes. The pork chop was enjoyed and the poke bowl was fresh but is advertised as much bigger and fuller on their social media. It was quite small compared to their pictures on their instagram. Still, we would return and try other dishes. It was very busy and tables are close together, quite crowded area. If you don t mind this then recommend trying it!
Excellent food and nice ambience. Love its Rabbit saddle and Rabbit pot pie. Would come back next time in town Food : 5/5
Very very good and the service just wow
It was really good, we shared everything we ordered, it was delicious. Rabbit, duck, foie gras, vegetables and also on the recommendation of our very friendly waitress we tasted their famous salted honey tart, a delight.
Friendly welcome and service with a smile and great care. Unfortunately the food was disappointing considering the price. We had a table dhôte with cassoulet and the duck was dry for both of our plates (me and my friends). The flageolets really took over the rest, their texture was quite soft. Considering the starter, slices of duck, it was pretty bland. For dessert, the fruit tartlet was excellent and generous. The quantities were satisfactory but I would have preferred better quality.
Gluten-free and celiac friendly, nice vibe, and terrific service.
Exquisite culinary experience with local dishes! I recommend. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free bread provided
Dinner for two on summer evening. Had the rabbit poutine, seafood cassoulet and a pasta dish. All was very good. Service was friendly and responsive. I would eat here again. Obviously in a touristy area but still very good.
Great food, excellent atmosphere. Wish the rest room a bit cleaner then an absolue 5-star
On the beautiful street Le Petite Champlain. Tasty French food, pleasant staff.
Great food ~ Duck Foie Gras Terrine is tasty. Rabbit meat poutine is good but the meat a little hard for my taste.
Phenomenal place
Charming location but poor hospitality. If your machine is not working and people do not have cash, you need to either accept e-Transfer or allow people (who are tourists and dont have much time to waste) to leave and bring you cash later rather than taking them hostage as your waitress did. Happened in early July, once we finished food, the machine was not working and the waitress would ask people to wait there until they figured it out! We were lucky that we had cash but she wouldnt let others leave either. Even before that, we were sitting on the patio by the wall and one of us wanted to put his chair a little bit aside to see the people passing by and again although it was perfectly OK, the waitress didnt allow it. Once we were going to pay cash and get out of there, she started literally complaining about the amount of tip that she received for such poor hospitality!
Amazing ambience and service. The garden by the outdoor seating is romantic, and the canopy and old school lights are so pretty. Waitress was patient and efficient. Lovely last dinner of our trip!
A very special place! Worth a visit and worth buying. The owners are very nice
Food was horrible and hostess not friendly. I sent back my entree and they refused to seat us outside although there was availability and I had a reservation. This is not a real quality restaurant just a tourist trap that serves terrible food. Food
WoW, great evening and excellent meal! Charming little restaurant located in Petit Champlain. Be careful to book because it fills up quickly and it s quite a small restaurant. The service was perfect, we took a plate to share for two, this allowed us to taste everything. We will come back without hesitation.
My second time and Im never disappointed, Sua ticks.
If you must eat at this place, do suggest to make a reservation to guarantee a table. We lucked out that there was a table available. Everything looks so good on the menu. Wasnt too hungry, wanted a sample of everything, on the menu there is a To Share . We got the Tout lapin tout canard - Raised rabbit leg, duck leg confit, rabbit rillettes, duck foie gras terrine, smoked duck breast, roasted garlic, vegetables, roasted potatoes, bread croutons and marinade. The foie gras, your either going to like it or not. The server that brought our dish was excellent in informing us each part of the dish.
Delicious cassoulet, quick service
Authentic and deliciously cooked French food. Attentive girls in service and even an SMS service that sends you a message when the table is free when the table is busy. We thought it was great
Best meal in Quebec in 3 days! Must try the Rabbit pie and Cassoulet!
We tried to brake the concept of touristy food place equals bad food and mediocre service....Oh well,we honestly tried. Food, food ,food. Its about food first. Unfortunately this place fell the victim of just a profit in busy area. The dish the called Foundue ,git that name for the sake of it. It wasnt a Foundue. Just a melted cheese,no wine,no spices... Cousoulete was tasteless, dry and overcooked. Tourte Lapin appeared to be the same overcooked and tasteless dish. Service was a bit pushy and we felt like being rushed. When you visit this place, please be objective. Dont give it a 5 stars because you feel great. Taste the food, observe the service and then give an honest review,so the next patron wouldnt become another deceived and disappointed guest of this place.
Cute restaurant with friendly staff and tasty food! This is a touristy restaurant on a fun street but the food is very good! We enjoyed the Walleye, rabbit poutine, pesto pasta, etc! There was about a 30 minute wait but there are plenty of shops on the street to visit while waiting!
Rabbit pot pie and pork chop are my choices. The maple creme brulee is my dessert recommendation .
You don t know what to order? Order Rabbit Poutine and Quebec Discoveries!
Very nice. Fair prices. Excellent location
The taste of food doesn t match the price and reputation of the restaurant.
You have to love the rabbit! Some people dont understand the subtlety of the name of the restaurant hehe
Very good but the plates could be more garnished, especially for the childrens menu We still enjoyed the time and place, as well as the service.
Delicious taste of duck and rabbit, prepared in unique styles!
Great food! We had the duck & rabbit dish to share and it was delicious!
We relied on the high Google reviews. However, we were disappointed. My friends cassoulet lacked a lot of taste, the same for the rabbit rillettes. My poke bowl starter with the salmon gravlax was fresh, but also lacked flavor. The fries were good though. It s a shame, because the ingredients used are expensive, but they are not highlighted by the dishes. The people serving were very nice and polite.
I love the atmosphere of this place and I got to try rabbit for the first time! Its interesting because it was very different based on how it was cooked. The sausage was too gamey for my liking, the rabbit leg tasted like chicken so I really liked that, and I enjoyed the rabbit poutine so much. The poutine seemed like the most Quebecoise thing I could have tried, and no regrets with that. The French onion soup was okay, but not great compared to the other meals.
It was very delicious!
Excellent food Great service from Megan We will come back
A great waitress and attentive! We sat on the nice outdoor patio overlooking a garden in the Petit-Champlain district. The Poke Bowl and mocktail I ordered were delicious! It was fun to people-watch. Highly recommend.
Best poutine in the town!
We had 2 different items from rabbit menu and loved both of them. Just sitting in this cute courtyard and being served by these kind and lovely ladies deserves a 5 start. Let alone the great recipe. Food : 5/5
DO NOT RECOMMEND as a famous place. We ordered a regular burger but the burger was actually burnt and the taste was awful as it taste bitter. When I asked the waitress she said it could happen sometime ??? we were there around noon before the rush hour, so there were not that many customers. The waitresses were hanging together around the bar area and were chatting, I had to shout out loud excuse me to get my bill. Very surprised at the whole service and the food. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
