Error in my order and I had no choice in returning the dish since I have a health problem that prevents me from eating certain foods. The waitress was very nice, apologized for the error but the manager (or owner) let me know that it was food waste. Besides this uncomfortable comment, the rest was very good Very nice decor

Loved this restaurant. Its a funky ambience and our server, Slaine, was just amazing. We were there for a late lunch and had a light meal of onion soup and Livernois poutine which were both rally tasty. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Worst service ever. Would never come back. And no one cared. Apparently the kitchen stuff was overwhelmed and they were short waitstaff. Well, im sorry about that, but then they should have stopped seating people, if that was the case

Must-try if you love gin and cocktails. They also have a wide selection of beers. Ordered a gin flight (3 total, including 2 house-distilled gins) which comes with a small bottle of tonic water and a little bucket of ice so you can make mini G&Ts after sipping the gin. Lovely way to spend a snowy late afternoon.

Excellent. I took off one star because our to go dessert did not have the fresh fruit as described.

My wife and I stopped in for early afternoon drinks an appetizers. We were immediately met at the door and seated promptly. I had a beer and a Bloody Ceasar both were excellent . My wife had two hot chocolates and they were amazing. The French onion soup and pepperoni pizza were great. Very nice atmosphere

to start the onion soup was as spicy as a Mexican Chile, the main plates were tiny and the desserts and coffees took very, very long to be served and not at the same time, in addition there were errors on the bills, in addition the staff distributed as soon as blankets because it was very very cold in the restaurant. it was really an unpleasant unpleasant experience unpleasant

Me and my partner were visiting Quebec for the first time, after the restaurant refusing walk ins on a night of a street parade on a Saturday, we decided to come in on a Tuesday and what started off seeming to be a great experience became a horrible experience after the wrong pizza was brought to me containing shrimp, I told the server that this was the wrong pizza but he looked at me and said it with confidence that the goat cheese pizza I got was what was in front of me, after showing him pieces of shrimps on the pizza which I knew for sure was not the pizza I ordered, he took the pizza unprofessionally off the table and sprinted off, my partner found a piece of hair on her pizza cooked with the marinara sauce made with her pizza and again we got our server , who didn t even take a look at the pizza but said, are you sure the pizza isn t cracked . I had to turn my flashlight on to show him the hair. What made the experience really bad was when they brought out the pizza, we were charged full price including the pizza with the hair on it. No discount was offered, no formal professional apology. I stopped the server $30 even wihh the the horrible experience we got . I do not advice people visiting to spend their money here , they have no steps to service and they don t seem to care about guest experience . The 4.2 star rating is not nothing. I m so mad that I tipped them $30. He didn t apologize for the horrible experience

Reservations were made and we were sat at a table within the stairway, by the door. I asked if there was another option for a table and the host stated. Well look around. We started sitting and the bartender attempted to tell the host another option, but the host cut him off. The waiter came over to take our drink order, no concerns, then when he came back to take our order I stated we werent ready yet, but would like to order an appetizer. Someone else brought our appetizer and out waiter never came back. He did not come back to check on our appetizer, ask if we wanted more drinks or take our dinner order. We ended up asking a passing worker for our check, paying for what we got and left to get dinner elsewhere.

The food was great as well as service.

It took forever to be seated and even longer for our food to arrive. When we asked about our food coming the server told us we changed our order when we hadn t. We were never asked if everything was ok or if we needed anything. When we asked for water It was slammed down on the table. They didn t clean the table off unless we asked either. The manager was rude. The food was really good but I d never go again because who wants to be treated badly on vacation?

We arrived at the restaurant on an evening when it was -25 degrees Celsius. This detail is relevant because they seated us at the entrance of the restaurant close to the restaurants single, very spacious door. As we sit down, we realize that the wind makes pleasantness and comfort difficult. So we asked to change tables and were told that it was impossible since all the tables were reserved (although later, they accommodated a larger table that had the same problem as us.) So we did. asked if it was possible to have blankets and the waiter there looked at us askance. During the 20 minutes we stayed, we saw 3 tables leave due to the polar cold. The only reason we didnt leave early was that we had ordered cocktails upon entering and didnt want the restaurant to waste them by finding an empty table. This restaurant is clearly incapable of properly managing the space available for their customers during the winter season. I recommend avoiding them during this season at the very least. They may be more skilled during the summer. To finish on a less bitter note, their cocktails were good, although expensive. Too bad everything else was disappointing.

Visited Quebec City and went to this restaurant twice. The food is good, but the service leaves much to be desired. It seemed like they were short-staffed, as the server completely forgot about us. We didn t get any water until after we finished our main dish, and no one ever came to check on our table. Perhaps it s because we re non-Caucasian. The food is delicious, but the indifference from the staff was quite disheartening. When we asked for water, the server seemed to treat us as if we were troublemakers rather than apologizing for not providing water earlier. The server who seemed to think we were troublemakers was wearing a white shirt and had medium-length curly hair. Be prepared for this kind of experience if you decide to dine here.

Good restaurant. Nice atmosphere. I really liked the fact that I could taste several kinds of gin, its quite rare and there was a lot of choice! The waiter was really nice and gave good advice, especially for the many choices of gin. The food was excellent, the foie gras terrine starter is generous for 2 people and excellent. The seafood linguini was excellent, lots of seafood, worth the price. The beef tartare is a good choice too, although very spicy. We will definitely return.

The bartender with the beard and the duvet really stupid and disrespectful to his colleagues. It makes the atmosphere heavy and uncomfortable. It was fortunate that the manager who served us was in a good mood and my espresso martini was good. Beautiful, clean and quiet restaurant with beautiful decor.

Saturday November 9, 2024 - reservation at 7:30 p.m. Quebec Table Gourmande - endless wait for aperitifs with questionable error for the bottle of wine... - salmon tartare starter not very tasty - the waiter did not take care of us - at 9:00 p.m. we had decided to leave without having received the main course - first and last visit - we talked about our experience with friends and it seems that the reputation of this restaurant is in free fall!! Avoid!

I have a beautiful restaurant in Old Quebec with great options for everyone!

I ordered a medium filet mignon and they served it to me twice very under cooked. It was not edible. I will not go back. 0 zero stars

Great experience, The service was top notch with very welcoming and smiling staff! The cocktails were excellent and the dishes too, a generous and tasty duck poutine and the same for the ribs! I recommend without hesitation :)

To start the entrée I had was soup it was good but it tasted like watered down pasta sauce and the burger I got was under cooked and some how the cheese was burnt the only good part of the meal was the fries and for the bathroom the vent was absolutely disgusting and covered in dust while the heater was even on the mirror was crooked and had small marks and scratches all over it it also smell horrible. The fire exits were all blocked by something and the staff never spoke to you and would only walk around and then leave for a few minutes at a time and we had a reserved seating and were one of only a few party s at their restaurant

All in all, a great experience. The service was a little slow, but the waitress was very attentive. Our dishes were very good, Caesar salad, beef carpacio and steak. On the other hand, the fries were a little soft. Nice atmosphere.

One of the best restaurants I visited in Quebec City. It also has a very nice atmosphere.

We were so disappointed with the service. From the start, we felt very neglected. It took the better part of an hour to get our drinks. Our food did not arrive until almost 2 hours after we sat down! We almost left when it took so long for our drinks, but remained hopeful things would turn around. Several staff members walked by our table (it was well lit and right beside the host desk) and at no point did someone assure us our order was coming or apologized for the delays. We travelled six hours for the Table Gourmande -- and with so many wonderful restaurants in the city, we felt so frustrated we chose this one.

The food was excellent. On the other hand, it took a really long time before anyone came to see us at the table. The waiter apologized and afterwards we had good service. The atmosphere is correct for a quiet dinner. Not really a party atmosphere.

Sadly the food was very average, despite ordering from the specialty menu . The peppercorn sauce for my steak tasted like it came from a can.

Me and my partner discovered this restaurant thanks to Tuango. Beautiful atmosphere and beautiful restaurant! The food is very good. I ate the beef carapaccio... one of the best Ive tasted in my life. The pappardelle was excellent, I found it rather unique. On the other hand, small portion in terms of dessert, I took the cheesecake truffles. Good and great experience in general .

Tuango coupon (table dhôte for 2 at $99+tx+tip) which introduced us to this restaurant on rue Saint-Jean. Beautiful restaurant, good atmosphere located directly in the heart of old Quebec. The service was slow, but our waitress was very nice. The Caesar salad is not cut (full leaf) nor mixed with the sauce. Concept which escapes me and which makes the entry experience less pleasant. The fries were good, but without salt and cold. Good steak with pepper sauce. Dessert to share with 3 small truffles. Very small portion for 2! Maybe try again.

Stunning Parking: Town hall parking

Its Friday 9:00 p.m. Quiet evening in town. Three of us arrive to have a drink (no food) The restaurant is half empty (I even estimate less than 40% of the tables used.) and only 5 people (2 tables of one who finishes paying). We wait at the door for 5 minutes for a young girl to come and answer us. Sorry, its full, we only accept reservations... clearly a place that is incapable of having service (waiter) but they are able to have a DJ. Im not impressed. Dsl

I find that there is something for everyone. The menu can offer more affordable choices with more common dishes, such as hamburgers, as well as discovery plates that are placed in another tray. It was excellent! Nice choice of gins too, to try again later!

We had tried the poutine at this restaurant while on a food and culture tour. We knew we wanted to go back! As our last meal in Quebec, it was perfect! The gravy is savory; the fries are perfectly cooked, and the cheese is squeaky--the best in Quebec City! Our waiter was friendly and knew we were in a hurry so made sure we had our meal in a timely fashion. My only frustration was how loud the music was where we were seated. I could not hear the hostess or waiter very well.

I entered the restaurant for lunch, although there were many empty tables, the staff took a while to assign me a place. Then they didnt bring me a letter and when they came to take my order, I had to tell them about it. I ordered pasta but the noodles were full of oil, they could have been better. It was a very cold day and the air conditioning was on so it was not cozy

Our waitress was excellent. The waiter who served him was nonchalant and a little lazy. He dropped a pickle from my duck terrine, apologized, said he would bring another but never came back. He didnt even pick up the one that fell to the ground. The service was endless! And finally, the kitchen forgot the pulled duck on my pulled duck poutine!!! I will not return; thats for sure.

Oh no . I got the seafood pasta. Half of it was cold and have was warm. It was pretty clear it had been sitting under food lamps as the plate itself was hot. My husband got the fish burger and it was the same issue. The fries tasted like there were sitting in the frier for longer than needed. The drinks were meh. Mine tasted of nothing but lime juice. The poor servers. Bless them. They seemed very understaffed. The hostess was doing triple duty has a bus person, hostess, and food runner. Every time something was brought out from someone other than your waiter they were confused on which table it was supposed to go to. Get rid of the DJ and hire more staff.

The food was great. The service not so. We waited at the front entrance for 5-6 minutes waiting to be seated while several staff walked past without any acknowledgment. Once finally seated we ordered a bottle of wine which took over 15 minutes to arrive at our table (and this only after we asked a second server if it was coming). The restaurant was not overly busy so it was not as if the staff were run off their feet during this time. The ambiance is nice but the lighting left us feeling we were in a very dark place. We asked for at least a candle of some form for our table but were told there was nothing so we took a cue from a neighbouring table and rigged up our own little light using a water glass and a cellphone. At no point were we asked how we were enjoying our dinner. As beautiful as your restaurant is and as well located as it is, I do not believe I could recommend it to friends or feel that I would come back. This was our second visit having eaten there a year or so ago and liked it enough to try a second time, but I think we are now done. I hope this helps. We are travellers from New Brunswick who stop over night in Quebec City 3-4 times a year en route to Montreal. Vegetarian options: Good choices

Promoting their new brunch menu with around 20 dishes on June 21 on Facebook. Im only going there for that on July 20 and the menu already no longer exists, there are only 4 sad choices for brunch. Plus it was really too expensive for the quantity on the plates.

The most important point was the ambience of the restaurant. The ambience of the restaurant was somewhat... Its too lively. The volume of the music can be reduced appropriately. Secondly, the food is served too slowly, which is a terrible thing. We waited for nearly forty minutes to eat the main dishes we ordered. Secondly, the food is fresh but has a slight staleness in the cooking process. The neglected beef was overcooked, resulting in a significant loss of texture. The softness and hardness of the pasta were appropriate, but overall Im sorry but this restaurant failed to meet my expectations. I hope this restaurant can improve next time.

Service is fine, but the quality of the food for the price has declined drastically recently, we used to go regularly but we wont be returning, its basically just a tourist trap now.

The wait staff was phenomenal. The zephir cocktail was perfect. The duck poutine was peppery and delicious. The salmon in the salmon salad was perfectly cooked, and was just the dish for a hot evening. There is no A/C so it was warm, but during the heat wave this was expected.

The 3 of 5 dinners were cold. The ribs were inedible as they were. By the time the waitress returned everyone else had finished their meals

I don t know if it s because we speak English but our meal consisting of only appetizers took about an hour, arrived at the table cold, and we had to ask for plates to eat off of. Very unimpressed.

Would recommend the duck poutine and filet mignon, however would not recommend the frois grad and duck confit, was like overpriced cold chicken salad. Service was just okay, patio was nice but crowded.

Excellent cockails to start. The entrées were perfect, wagyu carpaccio was delicious. The mains were very good too. The smash burger and fries were hot and satisfying, the linguini seafood platter tasted excellent but was unfortunately room temperature. The place is beautiful, lots os ambiance. We will return.

I booked via the online application to go to lunch with my partner for her birthday. The application allowed me to reserve Tuesday July 16 for 9:30 a.m. I went there, paid for the parking space opposite, only to discover that the restaurant only opens at 11 a.m. However, I had indeed received confirmation of my reservation at 9:30 a.m. and I even received a text reminder of my reservation at 9:30 a.m.

It is a good place to start.but they changed the menu.it doesn t taste good at all.they dont have the duck wing and Korean short rib any more.so disappointed

We re visiting the city with friends and decided to come here because of reviews. We were really disappointed because we had to wait for the food, and we ordered a lot. It took an hour to bring the food (it was way past 10:00 pm which they said they were closing at). We thought something happened in the kitchen, but then when the waitress brought out the food- it was cold, as if it was sitting for a while, and we had to send it to the kitchen (they just microwaved it because it tasted like that). We also had to ask multiple times for cutlery and plates. The drinks were delicious and the food was decent and interesting, but it was cold and brought out all at the same time, which killed the anticipation and the whole atmosphere. We ended up being hungry and went somewhere else after, even though this was not a cheap meal.

The food was good, well cooked, maybe a little too salty though. The service was good, we had plenty of water and the music wasnt too loud so we could hear our friends talking. On the other hand, the table we had was much too low and gave back pain.

The mocktails are quite expensive ($12), the music was too loud for a restaurant, the basket of fries at $9 was expensive and not very big, but they were really very good.

We have been to this place 2 times and the first day our waitress was lovely, fast service and no long waiting times. The food was delicious. The next day (today) we came again in the late afternoon and waited 20 minutes till being served and way longer waiting times then the day before .. We recognised a big difference about our whole experience because of service

When you realize that the bottle of wine you bought for $44 even though it sells for 8.50 at the SAQ, you know its the last time at this restaurant. Even if the food was OK and the service was great.

Food: Apparently the chef doesn t know how to cook the steak Ordered medium, comes out not even medium rare. I sent it back, but it comes back well-done. Can t really enjoy the food. Service: Service is great. But I think they are short staffed. The bartender took my food back and told me it was my problem. (He said the steak is just rare to ME) Atmosphere is ok. I appreciate the restaurant giving a discount on my steak though, even though I didn t really eat. Now I m going home and going to buy a burger from Burger King, since they know how to cook beef better than your chef.

Incredible food and drink menu! We shared wings, carpaccio and cheese with French bread. The drink menu is incredible, lots of gin to choose from! We visited in early December, an early weeknight dinner. Service was excellent.

Fantastic service, great food. The cocktails were very well made and they have great non alcoholic cocktails too! There was a DJ mixing some fantastic tunes, really enjoyed that, created such a fun atmosphere.

My bf and I visited the Quebec City from Toronto for the Easter long weekend, went to this restaurant on Saturday night. He had Korean beef short ribs and woke up feeling sick Sunday morning. We had to end the trip early to see a doctor and he s taking sick leave from work. Very unpleasant experience. Avoid this place unless you want to get stomach flu.

I really enjoyed the food which I though was excellent. It is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for, and consider the location. Service was good and friendly. One thing that I struggled with was that is was a bit dark in our section of the restaurant and I struggled to admire my food! Also the music was a bit too loud for me. But otherwise a great restaurant!

The waiter was arrogant because my native language is not English.

We need more bartenders like yours. Bartenders passionate and knowledgeable about their work We only have cocktails at the bar. Next time we will try the food

We stopped in for a nightcap on our way back to our hotel. We had the pleasure of being served by Oliver, our bartender. Oliver was gracious, very knowledgeable and impressive in his knowledge of the craft. My husband ordered a Pimms Cup and then asked Oliver to be creative and make him an Old Fashioned with gin instead of bourbon. He knocked it out of the park. We realize that it was close to closing time so the bar was quiet which gave Oliver the chance to be super attentive. Had it been a busier part of the day we may not have been able to enjoy the pleasure of his company as Im sure he has a huge following. Oliver is a true craftsman who takes great pride in his work. Were so happy to have stopped in and cant wait to go back!

While the service was very nice and the atmosphere quite warm and inviting, the food was sub par. We had fried ship appetizer the sauce lacked much spice. The salmon was unsalted and over cooked, the sauce lacked flavor. The potatoes which accompanied the dish were undercooked and again no flavor. Others had fish and chips hard to get wrong but had no flavor and too much batter. The steak was tough and the French fried were over cooked nearly burnt! The price was like a more upscale dining restaurant. Therefore our expectations were that food would be tasty but sad to say no. Hope they will make a few changes as again the service and the atmosphere are wonderful.

C est une belle expérience gastronomique, mais pas hors du commun. Le menu de gins est impressionant (quasiment trop de choix). La poutine au canard était un peu décevante et le canard trop cuit. Le saumon était très bon. La serveuse a donné un service incroyable! Je ne sais pas si j y retournerais, mais vous ne serez pas déçu de l essayer.

Lovely lunch spot with great music. Coffee maker was broken, other spot on.

Apart from the fact that not all the chairs had a footrest, its a bit rushed during a full evening, otherwise the duck poutine is one of the best Ive eaten in my life

Wow, Ive walked past it several times without knowing what a nice place it is to linger. Beautiful decor, professional service, a wide choice of drinks and a good menu. I will definitely return.

The drinks took 1 hour to arrive, my virgin ceaser only tasted like lime juice, we had to get up to ask for the service to come take our food order, the dishes took 45 minutes to arrive and were all very bland, the Poutine was not edible and the tuna tartare did not taste fresh, while the rest of the dishes were really ordinary for the price. The waitress never came to see us, very ordinary service and we are a group of 10 servers so we were really disappointed. We will not come back here.

I gotta start off with the duck confit poutine. Its too die for, the duck is tender and delicate. Fresh cheese curds and the gravy oh my you could dunk crayons in it and be like wow that are tasty. If you like gin your gonna adore this place. They have like easily a hundred choices.

Very nice place, but this day we were sitting at the bar having an aperitif and noticed the barmaid filling the bottles of water intended for the tables and all the bottles were filled without being emptied and cleaned, so is that the water on top of water... that we go back to the table... all day???

The steaks were almost cold when we got, never refilled water for more than one hour. We also missed a food which made us waited 30 more minutes, another server dropped bread when she was passing the food but she didn t bring new one until we asked after 10 minutes. Super bad experience.

The food and service were overall horrible. Never refilled our water at all, the food took forever to come out, the server dropped the bread on the table while passing us the food but never brought out a new one?? missed my main course and told me that the reason why it was missing was because he couldn t understand what I was saying . All of the food was either too sour or too sweet, no flavoring and COLD. Do not recommend to any tourists. As a server I am shocked how people treat customers.

Went there yesterday for the first and last time. The Barman never greeted us and made us drinks that tasted watered down. He seemed completely overwhelmed with about 7 customers. He spoke to his clients the way a teenager would to his parents (rude). Wouldn t recommend unless the rest of the staff is the complete opposite.

I ordered snails for appetizer, and New York Steak and Korean pork rib for main courses. Those were amazing!!! Even the season vegetables in the main courses were also delicious.

We went in the afternoon with our 2 boys without having a reservation. We were well received. The food is very good as well as the service . The drinks menu is interesting and as far as meals are concerned, there is something for all tastes and budgets. We enjoyed the meal, the excellent service (even for a December 24 with a fairly busy restaurant!) and the location! I recommend this restaurant!

Excellent place for a meal or for a romantic evening.

The service was good and waitress nice, but the food was very underwhelming. The vegetables with the duck confit were almost raw. We did have a very early dinner so perhaps the roast vegetables weren t ready, but that s no excuse for serving raw potatoes and beets. The pizza crust on the pizza was also a little undercooked. Dough like instead of crispy.

Afterall, not the most pleasant experience. The food size is inconsistent and not as big of a portion as advertised. We have ten people, and many of us ordered the Korean Short Ribs and we got different sizes. The smallest one has a bone that is smaller than an average adult womans hand and the actual meat portion is half the size of the bone. See the pictures below. The chefs cooking skill is somehow inconsistent as well. We have one person ordering the New York Steak and we asked for a medium, but it looks like medium rare or even rare. One of our friends ordered a Wagyu Beef Carpaccio and the beef in the dish has no marbles and it is for sure just normal beef. The waitress is passive aggressive with little service and gets impatient during the ordering session. The only up side is the taste of the short ribs. But the dish size, food quality and the service is disappointing to say at best. Overall, it is not the most pleasant experience and I will not recommend it to my friends.

I ordered a medium New York steak the steak came out still eating grass(raw) it was burnt coundnt finish my meal how bad it was. Had a reservation, werent ready before 20 minutes have passed. Waitress didnt really care. Overall a horrible experience for 40 dollars.I dont recommend and i sure am never comming back.WHAT A SCAM.

I should have read some of the reviews but it wasn t a good experience. The duck wing is much too dry for me (which is mentioned by other reviews as well) and the spicy shrimp is too heavily battered. We also got served very late despite having an appointment like there wasn t enough waiter there. The Korean short rib size is so inconsistent and it made us feel like it s a lottery. The octopus starter is pretty good and the rest are decent. It s just some food plus service that ruined this experience for me. It may be the holiday season but I still think the service could be better at least.

Good atmosphere, several poorly mastered dishes, others on the menu but not available without an alternative, touristy service there are better things in the old place!

My solo experience at Maison Livernois was moderately enjoyable overall. The historic building the restaurant is set in is an atmosphere of its own, giving the place an air of foundational class. I ordered the duck confit leg, which was on the petite side. They were generous with the side veges, but surprisingly stingy with the small potatoes. Service was polite but very slow. Took a long time to place my order and even longer to pay my bill, they could improve on that.

Had a great gin tasting and the Beef Short Ribs beautifully plated and tasted succulent!

Came here on a food tour. The poutine is amazing! The atmosphere is incredible as well. Not much of a gin person, but they have plenty of it if you are.
