Very good dishes including steaks, their specialties and excellent service.

Very ordinary for the price... thats what I call a tourist trap. Unfortunately it is much worse than other steak houses in the city. Very tough steak, no seasoning and unnecessary vegetables. At least the service is good.

This was a room service order* This was my second time ordering from Beefroi for room service. The first time the lady that delivered our food was fantastic. She made sure we had everything especially all the cutlery we needed. The food had a nice presentation and tasted descent. Second experience * We were short 2 desserts, 3 pops and cutlery. The seafood pasta that I ordered was sub par. For a dish that cost $36, I would expect quality ... 3 tiny clams, 3 tiny oysters, 1 tiger strip and 2 cocktail shrimp and some remnants of fish. When we finally received the other 2 desserts, they were quite different. The one carrot cake was missing a big chunk off the bottom and was sitting on the cream and raspberries. I mentioned it to the server who then seemed perturbed after going back down twice to get the things we needed. We paid good money for little food and it was a big disappointment.

Stopped by for dinner on a Thursday night without a reservation. It filled up fairly quickly, so I would assume that if you re specifically wanting to dine here that a reservation would be the best route! Started with drinks and the seafood chowder, which was unique and delicious. The table ordered steaks, tartar, and I had the cavatelli with duck confit- it was delicious! The restaurant was spacious and pretty.

Dinner on a Saturday evening with a reservation. Charming and inviting place. We were lucky to have Alexandre as a server who gave us all the useful recommendations to make our dinner delicious. These wine recommendations were perfect. Throughout the evening he came to check on us to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction. Truly, an outstanding employee. As for dinner, the steak/fries and pork chop were just as we liked them and as requested. Perfect and tasty cooking! We also had starters (noble mushrooms (stuffed) and stuffed bundle with truffle oil) and they were excellent. The mushrooms would benefit from being slightly larger and more stuffed but we wont really criticize them here. The only downside for me is that the establishment would benefit from having a larger choice of microbrewery draft beers from the Quebec region. Do I need to explain why? Thank you for this good time at your establishment and we will definitely come back and ask for the section with Alexandre!

In the signature cuts, the filet mignon and bone-in strip loin were exquisite. Perfect cooking as requested. Pleasant and discreet service.

The kitchens are working slowly the meal took more than 2 hours not many customers for a Monday no reason to have had such a long wait. In addition, my partner ordered the salmon tartare meal. Disappointment and surprise she received a beef tartare??. Parking: Paid hotel parking at $26

warm welcome but in terms of cooking there is a big lack of experience, overcooked shrimp, overcooked steak. I ordered a rare top sirloin and it arrived medium overcooked and as a starter a large shrimp and it also arrived very hard overcooked. The perfect squid but no sauce with it. The salmon tartare is great. The super rare flank steak. THANKS

This is not the first time I have eaten at Le Beffroi and this restaurant always meets my expectations. The service is very good. The quality of the dishes is surprising. Everything I tried on the menu was excellent. Its a very good table that I recommend.

There were 4 of us, the service for the 3 who had steaks was correct, one of us had a salmon tartare and she received her plate when we had finished eating our steak, very disappointing with nothing more to compensate either offer a glass of wine or even offer a dessert.

We enjoyed the food and the service. The only downside was that the waitress rushed us to order while we were still enjoying our aperitif, informing us that only 2 hours had been allocated to us for the meal even though we could see that several tables remained empty around us.

I cant even allocate one star for service in this restaurant.As soon as we walked in the waiter came over to see what wine we wanted, so we declined and said we only wanted water. This was the last time he spoke to us, so rude, must be getting a bonus for every bottle he sold? I ordered the lamb shank, which was served with polenta and covered with green beans. It was cold. When we had finished our meal, I asked a waitress, and she was lovely, for our bill, as I didnt want to deal with the first waiter. However, he came over smiling (his first to us) with the bill and the credit card machine. He apparently found his voice all of a sudden. I refused to give a tip for the dreadful service we received. It was the first time in a week that I didnt tip a waiter. In my opinion, a waiter has to earn his tip, and this was not the case. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Im just sorry, I didnt read the previous reviews written or I would definitely have gone down the street instead to some other restaurant

We had a lovely waiter and our meal was delicious!

I ordered room service. The lamb shank was delicious. The meat was tender. The creamy parmesan polenta is also very tasty. Still, I expected to see asparagus on my plate, not frozen green beans. Its a little disappointing for a $40 plate. It was a long time before it happened but I expected it, I had planned for it and I had seen on my walks around the hotel that there was a wedding that day.

Several errors for a table of two people. My steak was excellent, nothing to complain about. I asked for a salad without dressing, they had to change it twice, it still had dressing. My partner asked for a filet mignon and she got a Boston. But our servers service was excellent. Very courteous.

My wife had filet mignon was cook correctly and plate was well presented. My carpaccio wasnt so good, too much oil not enough vinegar and caper. I had lamb shank with green beans instead of asparagus as advertised, Clement the server said it was not the season for asparagus, while next door restaurant had it on their menu. Clement the server never asked if everything was right. Anyway it was the worst lamb shank I ever had.

I have told them that I was gluten free, they served the food , Pepper and cognac was served without letting me know that it as gluten in it. I started feeling sick almost right away, when it was time to pay , the waiter argued that they served the food after the gluten free, but that was not the case . It ruined my whole evening

Friendly and very courteous staff. Atmosphere...none? (no music, nothing at all) restaurant sober decoration and we are seated on a bench. The Food...the very bland squid, no seasoning, are served with small fried onions that taste burnt :/. My husbands smoked salmon has no texture and tastes like water. Our Boston steak is delicious and cooked to our liking (finally we understood what bleu bleu is!) Our accompaniments are very average... snowmobile mashed potatoes, my baked potato not half cooked. The pepper sauce is very good. In short....very disappointed with my experience but the steak was very good!

RACISTS! Worst dining experience I ve ever had. Service is race-based and my family was treated very poorly based on our looks. Our dietary restrictions weren t respected by the waitress. We had a reservation for 8 persons. No one approached our table for 35 minutes. We received our order 1 and a half hours later that the kids already fell asleep by then and almost all other tables around us had already finished their meal and left. When we finished and asked for the bill, it took them another 30 minutes and we were the only table left there at 09:40pm. We had to carry the sleepy kids and leave to get them running after us asking for their money. No apologies were made. We were the only table that was treated this way. It was crystal clear they are trying to be selective about their customers. Never recommend this place to anyone.

Just not into having eye rolls, loud sighs and confrontation for giving a $20 tip, which is 1/2 hours pay at my back breaking job that took me 2 years education to acquire. Really rethinking the whole tipping thing altogether after that experience. There is nothing quite like low skilled, self entitled waitresses.

We were never asked our preference when we made our reservation.when we arrived We asked to sit upstairs by a window and the gal said no (even tho we were the only people in the place) my husband insisted and they finally agreed. Very good service, very nice atmosphere, very disappointed with the taste of my T-bone at $93 per plate, I always take them rare and the inside tasted like the refrigerator. Maybe this day was not a good day because there were 8 of us and all the meat served was very ordinary. On the other hand, the desert was super good, disappointed with my first experience but hey, we all have less good days. Parking: The only parking found was located in Youville, interior and paid.

Very glad I didn t go based on the negative reviews because we really enjoyed ourselves. From the moment we walked into this restaurant the service was amazing. Staff were very attentive food was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed out last dinner before leaving on Friday. Our waitress was amazing as well. The corn from the restaurant is so good that even the cobs ask for more! Its the kind of corn that makes you salsa dance just by looking at it. An explosion of sweet and crunchy flavors in every bite. Its the corn that makes you say Yes, I want corn and more corn!

VERY decent food. Steak requested rare received medium, and charred exterior! Mac and cheese with liquid sauce and I believe once again the top was not grilled as supposed, but burnt which made the dish inedible... very disappointed. We are visiting from Ontario and after 4 days the dinner at Beffroi was by far our best . I don t understand the other 1 star ratings . Food was outstanding , and service was number 1 . Thanks for a great evening .

For a celebratory dinner before the Marc Dupré show I couldnt find anything better. The meat was tasty and tender and what can we say about the attentive and cheerful waitress. I give it a 10/10. Very good experience and I do not regret my choice in any way Parking: We had several options: the Palace Royal hotel parking lot or the Place d Youville parking lot.

After reviewing the restaurants website, we had expectations of having a great steak dinner. What a disappointment! My wifes Filet Mignon was rare instead of medium rare. Once I was able to get our Servers attention, her plate was taken back to be cooked more. After several minutes, the Server returned, the steak was a different steak, but was NOW cooked correctly, but now the steak had no seasoning (the original one did) and to make it worse, the kitchen apparently didnt think it necessary to keep the rest of the food on the plate warm so the shrimp, the garlic butter, the vegetables now were all cold. I mean really! When the supposed Manager eventually showed up ... (he was dressed in shorts and looked like he was on vacation - I honestly thought someone off the street was approaching our table as 10 minutes earlier 3 non-guests were intercepted and redirected by staff ) .... he didnt charge us for my wifes meal but that really didnt help the situation as my meal was now also cold and our evening ruined. So, I just gave up, paid the rest of the bill and we left very unhappy and very hungry. So if you are looking for a restaurant for a great steak dinner, I STRONGLY recommend you NOT waste your money and go anywhere other than the Restaurant Beffroi Steakhouse!

Hello, we are very disappointed with our first visit to your restaurant, which is still 4 star....the service with Frédéric was excellent and she credited me for my plate which I had not eaten..... .here we start with a Caesar salad which has our taste as specialists and Caesar lovers, it was quite ordinary.. ....the sauce in particular and what can we say about your tartar with beef that we had sold......phew the texture was as if it had been chopped and the color....brownish did not reflect a freshly made beef tartare... .... and my girlfriend took the salmon which was much overcooked or even dry.....so we are left with a bitter taste of your restaurant in my opinion being a former cook and a foodie without wanting to be mean but rather constructive there would be reason to revise your ways of do and be more attentive to the dish that comes out of your kitchen....

You rave about your steaks, mine was dry, very little flavor, your servers were average at best, will not be coming back, for what I paid, I will eat else where

Kind regards, Mr. Mrs., this is the second time that I have visited your restaurant in a short time and it is also the second time that I have been disappointed, not by the food but by the service, (by the way, I was a get used to the place), the young waitress that my partner and I had had difficulty serving well, its a customer if there werent many of them, at no time did she come and pour us wine, I made her the remarked very tactfully, mentioning to him that it was constructive criticism, plus the young girl had the posture of a teenager serving fast food, I know full well that you have difficulty having staff but I beg you to please train them adequately, your establishment will pay the price (less local customers) you can bet on the passers-by its up to you, personally I liked to encourage you. Magnificent restaurant with a beautiful menu. The childrens menus have great value for money. The staff are lovely. They even recommended city tours for us. We spent three wonderful evenings as a family. Kid-friendliness: The childrens menu is great and a good quality/quantity/price/balance ratio.

We were publicly humiliated by a waiter here for not tipping 15% We will never go back here. So sad, especially since were tourists and came to Quebec for business meetings. It is our money and our choice to tip, nobody elses choice. Very unprofessional etiquette. I DO NOT recommend going here unless you want to be harassed by wait staff for tips!!!!

The new york steak was not very tender, I had to cut it into tiny pieces to avoid chewing for 30 seconds. The mashed potatoes just tasted like charcoal from the grill (the steak was placed on top). The vegetables had almost nothing in the way of seasoning and just tasted like butter fat. Unfortunately, this cooking is probably related to the type of clientele of the Palace Royal hotel, who live in an 80s/90s style.

Underwhelming. Based on the reviews, I expected much better.

There are 100s of better Restaurant in Quebec City. The waitress was super grumpy because I left a small tip. The reason I did it because the food was unseasoned. Order the cornish hen it was really dry. The mash was watery and my friend got a salmon dish and again very unseasoned and it was very mediocre type of food. The use cheap alcohol for their cocktails and the server is rude. The decor and atmosphere is generic there are like any other steakhouse

Very nice experience, as always! The quality of the meals relative to the price is always excellent and we receive very good service every time. The atmosphere is calm, despite the fact that it is a very family restaurant since it is located in a hotel. There is no loud music or singing, which keeps the conversational tone at a pleasant level and allows for a nice atmosphere.

Amazing restaurant. We discovered it by chance, as it was a little further away from the row of restaurants on Rue Saint-Jean and it was a pleasant surprise. The meat was incredible, the side dishes were delicious. For wine lovers, it has a vast menu with selections from parts of the world such as France, Italy, USA, Australia and Canada (we chose a wonderful Italian). Exceptional service. We were attended to by Alex and he was so kind and attentive that we cannot describe such politeness. The environment is peaceful and very beautiful. I highly recommend it, for me and my husband it was the best restaurant in Quebec.

Absolutely inedible lunch buffet. There was a big selection, I tried everything and everything was disgusting. Clearly this was prepared several days ago. Very disappointing given the price. The waitress was friendly, the manager seemed really stupid. In short, to avoid.

I assume Im ignorant of not knowing that ground beef is ground beef, I ordered something expecting something and a big burger came, but it was delicious (CAD$21 + 15% tax + 15% service). I chose rice as a side dish, which was very thin. The Caesar salad is gourmetized, reconstructed (as opposed to deconstructed...), it just makes it difficult to eat. Impeccable service, even though I was poorly dressed, alone and ordering the cheapest beef in the house. Sophisticated and expensive place, even by the countrys standards.

Worst steak ever, ordered a Sirlion steak medium had to send it back it was raw but chared on the outside steak came back more shared and cooked more.

What a pleasant discovery! We were won over by the exceptional quality of the dishes offered, all at a very reasonable price. Dining extra muros was a most pleasant experience. Since my partner works with meat, we always pay attention to the quality of the meat, and we were delighted to see that it was really excellent. We were also impressed by the wide choice of meats from different locations. Personally, I opted for the duck confit pasta, and what a delight! A real feast for the taste buds! In addition, the atmosphere in the building is very pleasant, calm, with a magnificent view of the Porte Saint-Jean. The building itself has a chic and elegant atmosphere. Additionally, we appreciated that there was little waiting, which added to our positive experience. The service was warm and professional. In summary, we highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a quality dining experience at an affordable price, in elegant surroundings and with impeccable service. Kid-friendliness: No, they risk being bored and not enjoying the food.

The meat was overcooked on one side which dried out and toughened the meat, very disappointing for a steakhouse. The fries were dry, they looked like they were frozen. The tartare on the other hand was good. Good wine suggestion by our waitress.

We had a party of five and two of us ordered steaks-both were raw in the middle (ordered medium). The appetizer of mushrooms (good flavor) and cheese pockets (also good) were very small-realized the apps are meant for a single person, hence why the waiter asked each person if they wanted an app when ordering. We won t be visiting again if we come back to Quebec City.
