While in Quebec this summer, we visited the restaurant "Le petit château". Quite a controversial place with its pros and cons… + Pros - good location, sitting on the terrace framed by fresh flowers, live music. We were served by a very attentive, polite, cheerful and kind girl. - Cons - mediocre food , outdated interior . We ordered : - Chicken Poke Bowl - Poutine I would like to wish this bistro good luck, change the outdated interior, improve the menu, then this bistro has a chance to become one of the best in the city, conquer a larger audience and please not only the locals, but also the guests of the city.
We so enjoyed the Triple Fondue experience (with chicken)! All of the items and accouterments were fresh and delicious! Our host and server, Alain, was entertaining and knowledgeable. We'll return.
I had a wonderful experience here. The fondue was really delicious and the service was good. Bit pricey but so is everywhere else in Vieux-Québec.
I tried this place while in Quebec City, but it was an average experience. The staff seemed quite lazy and worked very slowly. The food was just average and nothing special. The only positive aspect was the outdoor seating with a view of the Château Frontenac. This place has good potential but needs a lot of improvement.
went for fondue, would not recommend! First their fondue pots are in desperate needs of change! the enamel was wearing off in both cheese fondue we got! the bread was stale! the baked potato was dark and smoosh inside! not sure if it might have been left over from the night before or at least from lunch! it didn’t look like a one freshly baked! The only good thing about our experience was the chocolate fondue at the end! but it is really hard to screw that up😁 also the waiter we had was friendly thus the two star rather than one!
Food was hot and fresh, good portions. Service lacking in follow-up and checking in. We were not the only people looking for service and attention. A bit more details about sauces, used a broth rather than oil to cook. Very tasty, better to wait for broth to heat up to cook properly.
9/9/23 review: I loved the atmosphere here! Outdoor terrace with flowers and umbrellas. My Nutella and banana crepe was wonderful! My SO’s chicken sandwich was good; he would have preferred fried chicken-we didn’t realize that the chicken was grilled-but it was good. Our server was friendly. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.
As a connoisseur with American-Ukrainian heritage, I was drawn to the allure of the crepes at this establishment. Expertly prepared, they were delightful, illustrating that simplicity can indeed be the epitome of perfection. A surprising twist was the water, infused with plankton, which added an invigorating zest for those who prefer a more lively alternative to conventional filtered water. Unfortunately, a lapse in cleanliness seemingly resulted in the presence of mold, presumably from an ill-maintained ice machine—a regrettable oversight. The hot chocolate, served with water rather than milk, was a point of contention. While its unique preparation may appeal to some, our preference for a milk-based blend left us disappointed. Enjoying a cup of "coffee on the lake" was an outstanding experience. The coffee was tasteful, probably drip coffee, with no aroma that is required for a good cup of cappuccino. This establishment would greatly benefit from the expertise of someone proficient in coffee and chocolate beverages, who can tailor these drinks to a broader range of palates.
Great service, but we had a melted cheese meal and I found that it was lacking, I was still hungry
A must when we come to Quebec. Our server Francis was very attentive. Thank you so much
You are right in your comment . I will complete my answer. Location: very well located. Effortlessly old-fashioned atmosphere. But correct. Service: good. Server attentive and polite. Food: we had the fondue accompanied by an additional plate of cold meats. The cheese was forgettable. The white wine hid the aromas of the cheese. Not sure its homemade. The bread was...so-so, a little dry. There are excellent bakeries in Quebec. Damage. The charcuterie plate looked more like an industrial SuperC promotion at $5 (charged at $24). In short, we knew, given the excellent location, that we were heading straight for a tourist trap. But we wanted to give it a chance. Avoid if you want to eat well.
Love the Soup!
We had a fondue and a cappuccino. The bread was disgusting and the fondue was horrible and a tourist trap. The cappuccino was a borderline filter coffee. We still have a stomach ache from this meal. The very friendly employees, it s a shame to have such a location with such mediocre cuisine..
Good morning. The service offered was perfect, waiter friendly and attentive. BUT... The food was really not qualitative. Cold burger with bad tasting meat, small portion for the price. Salad drowned and passed in the vinaigrette. Mayo from the grocery store. Disappointed with the meal. Really great service and beautiful restaurant. The kitchen should be reviewed. THANKS.
The maple crepe was the perfect dessert!
Not good at all! The waiter was nice but the food is really not good at all! In the Caesar salad there is only bagged salad with nothing with it....just too much sauce, and for the burger he does not ask for the steak to be cooked but he uses a WAY overcooked steak. I think McDonalds is better.
Food was average and service was a little slow. We had the trio fondue and the burner was not working properly and it took so long for the beef to be done. The waiter had to take it to the kitchen to warm the broth and brought it back to our table. Service overall was less than average.
Guitarist playing got us in to this cozy terrace. Family ambience and a great location facing one of the sides of chateau Frontenac. Food was good portion, crepe and burgers are recommended. Highlight was the onion soup, it had a hint of ginger taste and was delicious! Kid-friendliness: Kids menu with many options and affordable price
We came for something for the kids.. the portions was a bit small, but I guess we should have ordered only crepes or the fondu. The crepe was really good. The staff was super nice.
Felt way too pricy
Skip it! Stale bread. Overpriced boring menu. Much better places in town.
The patio with live music was certainly nice on a pleasant summer evening and kid friendly. Unfortunately the service was not good. The server was pleasant, but took 30 minutes and 3 requests to provide water. The food was okay, certainly not worth the price, but for a late day snack it was fine. Just go in with limited expectations.
Absolutely terrible service and food. Waited 40 mins for a glass of water. Chicken burger was canned chicken and inedible. Avoid this tourist trap at all costs!
Loved all a wonderful experience and great time Clean and safety five star or more. Food
The double fondue was amazing! The restaurant is super cute and the staff were very attentive. Highly recommend
This is a joke place to dine in. Good for a beer and some chasers nothing else.
Thanks to the handsome Zachary for the great service. We ordered a poké bowl and a crepe, both excellent dishes. I highly recommend.
Great crepes, great staff
Excellent spot not too busy and the crepes were excellent/stuffed to the max. Exceptional service, easily the best we ve had in Quebec City. We ll be back!
I spent $120 for 3 dessert crepes which werent absolutely anything special, not quite ripe banana, 1 with extremely sour fruit. Dont be fooled...its not worth it!
On our honeymoon, the first restaurant we went to eat. Wow, the poke is very, very good.
I would give more stars for the service if I could. Our waitress was fabulous. Cheese fondue was excellent!
I ate the cheese fondue, very delicious
Phew, I went there all the years but this is the last time... the prices have increased and the service has disappeared, they would say
Do not order the Nachos! It claims its meant for sharing but they give you a small plate that is extremely poorly layered. The musicians on the patio were great!
DO NOT get the cheese fondue. It was SO SALTY we didn t finish it. I told the waitress and nothing done to rectify other than they had a new cook. Should have looked at previous review. The cheese was not that good for Quebec. I love my cheeses ! Avoid and order something else or go somewhere else. Beautiful setting. Employees looked overworked.
Came here for a vacation beer, Francis was amazing. Not just friendly but attentive and efficient. Server to server it s hard to come by.
The food was really terrible, Im sorry. Caesar salad is not fresh: its sous vide salad with brown leaves and tasteless strips of sous vide chicken. The chicken wings are not cooked well and just coated in sauce. We also had a ham and cheese pancake and nachos but left everything in the end. There was no background music, cold welcome, no smiles. I absolutely do not recommend
Mixed. The mussels and frittes were quite good. The spaghetti with meat sauce was good, but the portion size was miniscule. I really thought my son was given a small childs portion. I was actually worried my teenage son was going to go hungry. We dont usually get dessert, but in this case, I made an exception. Service was friendly and quick.
On vacation with the little family, I decided to eat at the little castle because there was a singer and the menu looked good. Atmosphere-wise, no problem The music was good and the staff was nice. I am aware that we were without old Quebec and that given its tourist attraction, prices are higher. So I wasn t too surprised to see the exorbitant prices on the menu. We choose a Caesar salad with chicken for $31 and a spaghetti for $22. When the plates arrived, the spaghetti was so small that we had to check with the waiter if it was the one from the childrens menu but he confirmed that it was not (the photo does not reflect the size of the plate). Also, worst spaghetti I have ever eaten! Looks like pasta reheated in the microwave in a grocery store sauce...For the Cesar salad, the size is good but the taste is not there. Basically, they serve you lettuce with a few wet croutons, a bit of grated cheese, a little bit of sauce and some chicken. For $31, it s reasonable to expect a lot more! When the plates arrived, we were so angry! We could not believe that a restaurant served food of such poor quality and in such small quantities. Our server clearly noticed because after bringing us our food, he was careful not to come and ask us if everything was correct... Normally I am a person who tips 18.20% but I was so insulted that I nothing given. Dont go to this restaurant, worst experience Ive had in a very long time!
Absolutely avoid, the worst crepes I have ever eaten, french fries cooked in cheap oil. A real tourist trap
Went for fondue, which was very good but....the pot it came in was old rusty and the enamel coating was wearing off. For being right next to the Frontenac you would think they would have a higher standard of quality. Fondue is only served inside...all the service attention goes to those outside. There was only enough bread for half the fondue and it took the waiter a long time to check on us to get more bread. We wouldnt go back.
Food was ok, service was ok but don t ask for extra onion on your burger, that will cost you 1.75 and an extra slice of tomato was 3.95. I could have purchased 3 whole tomatoes for that. I hate it when restaurants nickel and dime you. It s not like we are asking for an extra order of fries. It s a part of your burger. Do you take the price of a tomato off of someone says no tomato or no onion And they don t tell you it s an extra charge. We sat and had a few drinks as well and it s not until I looked a at the bill until after paying Not cool and won t go back.
Don t listen to the negative reviews! This place is great! Great service and food! The beef fondue was awesome!
Dishes : - Cesar salad: vacuum-packed and damaged salad, stale bread, and bacon crumbs or even bacon dust, non-existent parmesan. bland taste and impossible to finish - chicken bowl: good... until the rice is not cooked... - vegetarian crepe: just-cooked frozen products and inedible dough. The toilets: dirty, paper everywhere, sinks unusable because broken. (This reflects the kitchen?) Wobbly chairs and dirty tables Atmosphere: thanks to the musician who helped soften this bad experience. I almost forgot the bill: the most expensive of the stay with the worst memory. Go your way
Wife and I both ordered nachos, and both agreed they were the worst nachos weve ever had. Ill describe how they seemed to be made. Start with a wide rimmed soup bowl, not overly large, and put a handful of nacho chips in. Then, pour a bunch of salsa on top of the chips. Add some banana peppers (not jalapeno), and black olives. Top with a handful of cheese. Not spread out cheese, just a clump on top. Bake it quickly to brown the top of the cheese, but not really melt it well or warm the underlying soupy mess. Remove from oven, and add gigantic globs of sour cream and pureed guacamole. And serve. For the record. 1) Dont put salsa onto nachos, it makes the chips soggy. 2) Put sides in dishes on the side, not globs on the rim of a bowl. 3) Spread out the chips on a wider dish. 4) Spread the cheese over dispersed chips. Others ordered poutine which seemed fine.
The beer is good!
Every time I go to Quebec, I go to this restaurant and normally I am always very satisfied. But since covid my first visit... the menu for crepes is more than reduced. Too bad.. I ordered a salad as a starter and pieces of salad were no longer good... yellow brown and rusty.. I told the waiter but nothing more... the service is no longer what it is he was. No return if we were satisfied or missing something, very long delays after requesting the invoice. I have the impression that there is a lack of staff and also of staff trained in customer service... Too bad, I dont know if I will take another chance to go back next time. . Too bad to see the owners response, instead of correcting the situation to avoid other bad experiences. He prefers not to apologize and attacked... so this week being in Quebec, I wouldnt give it a second chance. My money will be spent elsewhere...
We ordered 4 crepes with coffee and it was excellent, the coffee was a little less good. Great experience.
Magnificent terrace to enjoy crepes The place is part of Château Frontenac. I photographed the front door of the terrace restaurant so you can find it.
Fantastic location and great food options(Burgers mostly).. Le Masala Poutine was very very good . Burgers and Truffle fries were good
I visited this restaurant for the first time this evening. The food was delicious. I loved Zachary s service, he was smiling and very charming! I recommend!
Excellent food, affordable price, excellent service
Very good experience. We ordered the trio for two people and had enough food for 3+. Everything was delicious. There were beautiful fires outside for tasting on the terrace.
We eat well there at a low price! The staff is always courteous and efficient. It s a beautiful family starter with the most beautiful face in Old Quebec. A must-see during walks in the Old Town! Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free option! Its fantastic!
Disappointing for the fondue trio. Brown bread with cheese fondue. Very little sauce with the Chinese fondue. No atmosphere at all and expensive for so little.
An experience to forget. We spotted this restaurant to enjoy a bison fondue. We were expressly asking in the afternoon, what the person to confirm. Returned the same evening, he didnt have any and hadnt used any for a month. Bad communication no doubt, but it was still written that it was served everywhere on the front. Damage.
Excellent meal and welcome just as much! Thank you for this good time
It was something we wanted to try. My biggest issue is the way the fondue is worded in the menu. For 1 people or for 2 people. It caused us to order way to much & spend wayyyy too much money. We got 2 trios for 5 people. Way too much. This place is just way too expensive for what you get. Unfortunately we would not recommend. But our server was top notch. I believe his name is Rafael. I also recommend hand sanitizer if your gonna try this place. The skewers come out on the raw meat. You have to touch them to cook the meat so cross contamination is a real fear.
Well... what can I add. I would say: if you dont know how to cook, dont do it! A few months ago, we came for a fondue. It wasnt so bad. Today we oriented our meal in another way, and oh what a waste. First we ordered nachos. I dont think Ive ever eaten anything as disgusting in Quebec as this stuffing. Nachos topped with this jarred Doritos sauce from the supermarket, with a basura guacamole also in a box, and with a cheese coulis masking this shameful $19 recipe. WTFLUKE. Obviously served on a small plate (stingy but ouffff ultimately).. Big shame. Then the kids received their microwaved plates of spaghetti with jarred sauce. And of course, disgusting TABER... If you cant cook, dont cook. go home. But dont serve such dirty food... For our part, we ate two Cheeseburgers, and WOW! They know how to make junk food. The bread was good, the burger too, and the 3 fries, rather soft. wow! A miracle. The atmosphere is dead like the food there. It was our last and final time in this restaurant which would do well to change owners. $99 + 7% tip, for the gesture. No more ever again..
My fondue was delicious!!
Excellent service from Xavier. The fondues are excellent. The maple one is just sweet enough without too much.
excellent
Food not value for money. Does not taste good either. Deceived as it s located in a wonderful place.
Very very average, we had the classic fondue trio, the bread was extremely dry, the cheese not very tasty. The fondue was okay but it was that beef, a potato and a salad that was too marinated... For the price, go elsewhere. The atmosphere was missing as much as the service.
We tasted the bison, deer and elk trio and everything was simply delicious. Accompanied by the cheese fondue to start and the chocolate fondue to finish, it was perfect. Great service too. Le Petit Château is a recommended destination without hesitation
The food was so tasty! The waiter Raphael was very professional and friendly.
We chose this restaurant for the fondue trio. The cheese fondue is excellent, the beef fondue is good too (and the sauces 5/5) however for dessert, there was more chocolate than anything to dip in it. The interior is very cute and the server we had was great! Plan a budget of over $100 for the trio, without drinks I recommend
Impeccable service we took the melted trio everything is perfect but we found that only one potato as condiment was very little otherwise nothing to say
Superb Strawberry Blueberry Crepe with Raspberry Sauce. We were there Sept., 10th, 2023 on a Bus Tour from NH (Etas Uni) & my Tour Director & a friend stopped in for quick lunch. Laurie was our waitress & she was fantastic. Food was pricey, compared to NH, but quality was superb.
If you want a Fondue experience to remember, Le Petit Chateau is a must! Servers are very helpful and want you to have the best experience possible, we had a 3 course fondue dinner, started with cheese then i chose beef for my main and of course chocolate for desert. This was a dinner experience i wont forget.
Worst fondue of my life. Deplorable welcome
the price announced for the fondue for 2 remains high; regarding the chocolate banana pancake dessert with whipped cream, the pancakes are too thick, the pieces of banana green and too big as for the whipped cream it was sour. I do not recommend cider as a drink because it is served in industrial cans at an exorbitant price..... Very bad experience; I do not recommend it.
This was a great night of Fondue!!!! Great portions, and wonderful service! I cant wait to come back in the spring or summer and sit on the terrace!
Perfect food! Exemplary and excellent service, special requests made with attention, simply perfect!
Beautiful cozy atmosphere with exceptional service from Alain. Thank you for this simple but very pleasant time. Well be back
The slowness made us wait a long time
Absolute SHOCKING experience. The staff should be ashamed with how they treat their guests. It was our first night in Quebec after a 10 hour drive and we were very excited to dine at your restaurant. The waitress was very sweet and nice. We were two couples and got the trio. Cheese, meat, and chocolate fondue. The cheese fondue was great! The meat fondue was very mediocre. Tiny salad served and no difference types of steak, just one. This is not like other fondue places. The dessert came and it was supposed to be a chocolate fondue. It was HOT CHOCOLATE! I am not even kidding you! They put milk and hot chocolate mix together and put together the worst dish to dip. I nicely told the waitress that the cook gave us hot chocolate. Before I could even finish telling her, she knew, this was obviously a very common complaint. She went to get us actual chocolate and NEVER CAME BACK TO THE TABLE! We were there from 8pm-11pm. I kid you not. The table next to us got chicken fondue and the broth was so cold and wouldn t heat that the chicken was RAW. Some other waiter came back to us and told us and the other table to pay the full bill and leave because we offended the chef. You could of given that table food poisoning or salmonella. We never received the actual chocolate fondue. The kitchen staff was peeping out of the kitchen at us laughing. The table next to us asked for the manager and told them there wasn t any manager that night. We paid up and left. Please save your hard earned money and do not support this business. The staff should be ashamed.
The food was so bad the waiter told us he would not eat what we were served! They wouldn t remake the chocolate fondue (hot chocolate powder and milk) and were asked to leave because we offended the kitchen with our request.
I didnt like the food and the classic treatment of people more interested in their cell phone than in helping you.
Nothing from another world
Impeccable service and atmosphere, I came with my family and we had a very nice dinner!! I recommend thank you for this evening!!
Very expensive for little food. Poor quality bread with the cheese fondue and few accompaniments for the wild meat fondue. We also had a portion of beef, but it wasnt even a third of a package of grocery store beef fondue for $60. The decor is outdated and in no way reflects the luxury of Château Frontenac. It looks more like a cafeteria. We will not return there.
excellent
Absolutely shocked at how poor the food and service was. We made the 10hr road trip to Quebec City so excited for dinner but that never happened. We waited over an hour for the beef fondue which wasnt great at all for the cost of this. The dessert... I could do a better job! The Chocolate fondue wasnt chocolate it was hot chocolate. I am very disappointed in myself for spending my hard earned money here! Please guys do your homework and look at reviews before attending.
It was an amazing experience at the restaurant..Had the best Fondue, Nachos and Hot chocolate. Appreciate the hospitality. Recommended place.
Wine was really good!
It is a very welcoming and warm place. Ate very well
It was our first time there and we will definitely return. Dont be fooled by the negative review about the service or the quantity of food. You will have a solid experience. I recommend you take the fondue trio.
Good service and decent meal. The specialty is the fondue trio (we took the beef one) despite some downsides (like the meat which seemed dull to us). Apart from that, we had a good time. The location is worth it so come and make your own opinion!
Good little restaurant, very good service! Wines a little expensive. Kid-friendliness: Good childrens menu.
Went here while tired and very hung over, so you know I was in a bad mood, even with that I was satisfied with the service and the food. I think the only thing that really upset me was the portion size of their chocolate milk, but these days that s the norm.
The crepes were just OK. Nothing over the top for a place that advertises for them. They were overpriced as well. The server was nice and took care of us. A one and done location for me.
Excellent food, friendly service. The decoration looks old, not fancy. I consider that it should have a decoration style similar to chateau Frontenac since they are in the same building
More than excellent restaurant to go there for an excellent experience
Very disappointed. The welcome went very well, a smiling and attentive person, nothing to say! First downside: the dishes arrive, for my part a Chinese fondue style poutine, was it a surprise when I tasted my dish which was cold, impossible to eat half frozen fries cold sauces cheeses the same the only warm thing was the meat above for the inedible thing I asked for it to be reheated, the result was not much better but I gave up second downside, given the quality of what we ate we we decided not to leave a huge tip, it didnt please us and we were entitled to quite a few thoughts even two because the person came back to the charge, and almost asked us to pay a second time only to add more. Tips. I dont mind putting more Tips when its justified but absolutely not here. Its too bad.
I really loved the service that Raphaël gave us. We never lacked for anything, he offered us impeccable service, we were satisfied! I really recommend this restaurant but even more to have Raphaël as a server. Additionally, the food was very good. P.S: Little message for the boss of the little castle. Keep it! Raphaël is your best server!
Nice atmosphere great staff and great food highly recommend
We are a fan of this place
Great over all but a bit pricy.
Loved the trio fondue. Did not Dissapoint. Glad I returned the second time. Our server was awesome even though it was his first night shift and much busier.
Very delicious food and friendly staff
Stopped by for a quick snack. Service, food and atmosphere were all above average. Plenty of seating both inside and outside so waiting should not be an issue even on busier days.
Mussels were cold, top half. Forgot plate for shells and ketchup for chips.
Lovely terrace. Food very average.
Great place. Came here with eight other people and they took us in. The service was fast and the food is good quality (delicious crepes). Waiters are friendly as well. We had little time to eat so the speed of the service was convenient as well. Highly recommend.
We really liked our experience. 2 steps from Château Frontenac.
Very expensive for little. Disappointment. I dont recommend the fondue trio for three people. Portions not at all generous, party playlist that didnt have any atmosphere, fruit not fresh at all, doesnt EVEN serve the nun of cheese fondue!
Found plastic or ceramic pieces in my drink. Told that to our server. They said it might be from the dishwasher. Still got charged for the drink. Stay away
More on the expensive side.. Great terrace!
Correct menu (price and quality) - be careful of the toilets (men) which were not very clean.
Good restaurant!
Service was friendly and quick. Shout out Jessica as she was welcoming and provided ideas on available options. Vegetarian options: Poke bowls were great! Kid-friendliness: There are several options available that kids can enjoy.
Correct or I ate well,
Wonderful fondue for two. Two hours to dine.
Dog friendly terrasse, which is why we ate here. Staff is very nice and friendly, however the food is mediocre, especially for the price they charge. We had nachos, French onion soup and a chicken sandwich. The sandwich barely had half a chicken breast inside, the nachos were not restaurant worthy and the French onion soup tasted like it was from a can. Only reason I m giving it 3 stars is because staff was great and they accept dogs. I would not recommend.
Great service, the entire staff was wonderful! The welcome, the service afterwards... wow! Well done! And what about the food! It was excellent! We are going back, for sure, and I recommend it to everyone!
Nice terrace sheltered from the street, very charming and available waitress. Very good dishes. Fast service.
Delicious meals
My father and I sat to have a drink during the afternoon, so I can not personally speak to the food. I was envious of the nearby tables with food, though. Everything looked and smelled fantastic. Not cheap, but seems fair as it is a historic tourist area. Drinks ranged 12 to 20 CAD/ glass. Parking: It is walk up only Wheelchair accessibility: The entry to the restaurant was 4 stairs. I could not see any other entryway.
The fondue was amazing. So much so that my granddaughter and I went back the next day for fondue AGAIN!!
An amazing place to dine in next to Fairmont Le Château Frontenac Hotel. Love these dishes: 1/ Grilled chicken salad 2/ Meat fondue 3/ Fried chicken 4/ Boiled mussels with cheese 5/ Garlic bread Then enjoy street performance in front of Fairmont until midnight. An awesome experience. July 18, 2023
May seem a little expensive but the quantity is present and the products are of very good quality. I recommend! Tested: Crepe dufferin
Nice little restaurant where we were able to have lunch while most had already finished service and were preparing for dinner. Thanks again for the welcome
Overall a nice experience. Food and service was up to the mark. On the pricey side but I guess the quick service and the welcoming ambience makes up for it .
Very disappointed with this creperie, poor service rating, not that the waitress was unpleasant, on the contrary, but it took us a long time to be served, we felt like it was a shot and yet many tables were empty . As for the cuisine, pancakes without flavor or originality. Expensive for what it was. To go back maybe their fondue is better or the other dishes, in any case I dont recommend the crepes.
A surprise experience exceptionnelle whilst ambling, without a compass, on a new road. My fortune continued inside a high stone-walled patio where a language-teacher (Princess Fyona) fought the brilliant sunshine with her smile -- serving me the chefs enjoyable Crepe Dufferin. Now, I must build my future castle in Quebec City.
Great service, the server was super nice! Good wine and good food, for a good fondue in a restaurant I recommend the fondue trio!
Super nice terrace. Good service. Friendly place.
While visiting Quebec I discovered Petit Champlain near Château Frontenac. Very nice atmosphere, courteous service, ideal for a little 5 to 7 and good food.
Parking: Pas de chien autorisé depuis peu Parking space
This restaurant is an absolute disappointment. The crepes were ok but everything else was bad. I ordered the hot chocolate and it was not good. It tasted cheap and was with water, not milk. The worst part was the water. The water had mold and looked disgusting.
Food was yummy and location is very close to tourist place. Its little expensive but definitely worth it.
Friendly with good value for money and next to Château de Frontenac
We waited for our food more than 45 minutes and it was just 2 dishes. They were not that busy with several empty tables. In terms of food, the Chinese fondue was actually really good (hence the only star that they get) but the mushroom crepe was tasteless like a sheet of paper. The servers were hysterically running around, and dropped a cup on the floor with all that frenzy of course. Do not recommend.
It is an excellent place, very tasty and the service is excellent
We love fondue and we were drawn to spend one of the couple nights we had in Quebec here. The patio outside seemed like a good ambience and we went for a try. We had to wait on a line for about 10-15 min to speak with a hostess. He then informed us that they were not serving fondue for the patio tables, so if we wanted we would have to sit inside. We imagined that we would sit inside by some glass doors that were opened and we accepted. Unfortunately we had to sit in some other area that had nothing special and felt uncomfortable. We ordered a cheese fondue which was good but nothing special. Patrice was our server and he was very friendly - for him I would give a 4 stars review. It just seemed that they were understaffed and we needed to wait a bit longer than usual.
We didnt wait at all and were served very quickly. The servers are very nice and the service is fast. On the other hand, the poutine was cold and the portions were small. I had to add a lot of salt to my spaghetti to make it taste good. There are definitely better restaurants that are also cheaper.
OK food, dirty water.
Fondue was very delicious and the service was great! Definitely recommend the fondue!
Nice place and food
Frozen burger. Added on a poutine to the burger instead of fries and a small amount of cheese and gravy cost an extra 5 dollars, crepes were fine. Could ve went to Wendy s and got better food for less. Service you had to search for. Don t get tricked there s much better places. 50 dollars for just 2 plates. Not worth it
Well located, friendly service but the portions are not there. We came at 3:30 p.m. and had dessert crepes. To be in line with the portion the prices should be 30% lower. Clearly I will not come back.
Waited over an hour to food that was fine but not great. Server didn t check on us until we were finished - not even to refill our drinks. It wasn t even busy - I d have understood if it was.
The food below average. The fries were burnt. Small portions and expensive prices. Their yard is very beautiful as is the location
WoW!! What an exceptional restaurant, excellent food and super smiling staff :) we will definitely come back!!
Came back on purpose after 4 years to eat the fondues . A real delight. Great quality. I really recommend
Beautiful restaurant with really good cheese fondue
Every time I am in Quebec I have been going to that wonderful terrace restaurant for many years and many times every year. Foods are delicious. Service is friendly and very helpful. Entertainment is very enjoyable. Planning to do the same next year.
The service is incredibly slow. Expect to wait. And wait again
Tasteless food, much better places to eat. Fondue was an extremely bad choice. Tried it paid and left.
Delicious food and drinks, the exquisite fondue not only with cheese but also with meat and more. Very friendly staff
The fondue was amazing, but I got the feeling they were very understaffed the night we went. Terrace is nice but inside is pretty bland.
Quality service and food And good feeling with the server!
Our usual fondue spot was full for the evening so we booked a reservation here last minute. I will say the other reviews made me skeptical but the fondue was great! The service was wonderful. Our waitress was prompt and answered any questions we had. The location was close to our hotel and very lively. Overall a wonderful surprise!
Quiet patio with great service and food.
Wow ok its expensive but, AYOYE best crepes ever $$$4:
We stopped there for a late afternoon drink. Our cocktails were very good.
This restaurant is adjacent to Le Château Frontenac, and while I was pleased to have gluten free crepes, they werent anything special taste-wise. Seemed understaffed with long wait times for service. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free available
We ate very well in a pleasant atmosphere with good service and excellent cuisine.
Relaxed atmosphere, delicious and gluten free crepes! The staff was friendly and helpful! Dietary restrictions: Offered gluten free crepes!
We ordered crepes. Unlike what we expected the cheese was wrapped inside a flat crepe and the filling was outside. Not a genuine French crepe but tasty.
excellent crepes. Had the ham and cheese crepe...the smoked ham was outstanding.
Horrible experience. We were over 2 hours for a table of 3. The food was low quality. Service was non existent. Don t go!
Food was terrible rotten food, cold crêpes and $200 down the drain.
Blue Eye Reviewer here! All I wanted was Cheese fondue and this place delivered! Staff is welcoming and helpful choosing how much cheese you can eat!! Dont shy away from the wild game as well! Great place to have a traditional fondue while in Quebec city! Cheers
Great food and atmosphere! It reminds me of Europe! Very well decorated! The food was delicious and the staff helped us choose. Good for families too!
Very good Quality, quantity and great service, Thank-you Alain, Merci!!
Very good service, really a high price for the quality. Warm atmosphere. The 80 piece fondue for 3 is accompanied only by bread... very dry and not very good. The rest extra.
I went in to enjoy a crêpe hoping for a delicious experience. The room temperature was very cold (I had to keep my winter coat on) with an intense smell from all the pungent cheeses being served on trays at other tables. The place is lovely from outside. I hope they will work on improving the experience as this place has a lot of potential and is in such a perfect location.
