SHAKER Kitchen & Mixology in Québec City

Ive been here a few times and appreciate the cool ambiance and spacious layout, which makes it easy to find a spot without needing a reservation. The vibe and drinks are reliably decent, which is the only plus. However, the food has been mostly a miss for me I ve only truly enjoyed my meal once, while the rest of the experiences were underwhelming. The staffs attitude could also use some improvement.

Great dinner and evening, the waiter, I think its Cedrik, super friendly and funny, Ive never seen a waiter like him, he was like a friend and we love that, just a little comment, but not dramatic, we was cold because of the opening door, but other than that, everything was perfect, thank you

Voilà un petit endroit à découvrir dans le vieux Québec. Des notre arrivée, nous sommes accueilli avec le sourire et empressement. Une fois installé à notre table le serveur, Eliam, sempresse de nous faire découvrir les shakers. Le repas fut excellent dans une ambiance décontractée. Lendroit idéal pour un heureux mélange de bonne bouffe, de rencontres et de dégustation.

Great time with our server Emerick, he is really very nice and gave us really good service. The food was really good, I tried the new salmon, goat cheese, pecan and maple tartare. Its good but I expected to have pieces of pecan in the tartare. There was only a large piece on top and it didnt taste like pecans although the taste was good. Im not a fan of goat cheese and I was pleasantly surprised. This is one of the tartares that I wont hesitate to try again.

OMG! Where do I start! First I must say that, we were greeted with a lovely smile and then that s when it all started ..from the service, the atmosphere, our servers and even the manager Vincent. It was my sister s birthday and I must say that we had an impeccable time to say the least. That ll be a birthday and a night to remember. Merci, Merci. Was it really that good? Yes! Read the last paragraph! Atmosphere: lively and vibrant. I saw people of all ages, different ethical backgrounds all welcomed. I felt good being there. Have you ever been to a place and felt out of place. You wont here. As far as the service, I was at the bar, so take that with a grain of salt. Everyone who worked there was attending to my request. But you are not here to read the above.... The drinks were really good. I mean. I asked to make it strong, and they made it strong. The price. Was inexpensive. I shop at dollar stores, so I know. Did it taste good. Of course, because I became so inebriated ( trying to sound intelligent). Go there and try one or two drinks. Please keep in mind this place was busy when I went. It took 1 hour to get 6 drinks, which is a long time for someone who is dehydrated after walking through hours of Christmas markets (my wife made me...)

Second visit and the experience is still just as pleasant. The staff is super friendly, the menu is varied and affordable and the atmosphere of this Resto Shaker is incomparable! I will return there with pleasure.

I was disappointed by my visit to Shaker VIEUX Québec. The food was ordinary as was the atmosphere. The waiter added too much...unfunny jokes.etc.... Not sure I will return to this bar restaurant

Emrick is by far the best waiter I have ever met in my life!! Attentive, so funny, empathetic, he raised the restaurant experience to more than one level 6 working months to come back and see you, I havent forgotten! congratulations again and don t change my guy

Excellent food, varied menu. Courteous and attentive service. The staff is smiling and responds well to requests. A little noisy atmosphere. Parking: there is paid parking on St-Jean Street with CoPilot and also indoor parking at Carré dYouville 200 feet from the restaurant.

Drinks we re just OK the bartender was new and she had to read by the cheat card so they were off a bit but just OK, lobster sandwiches we a disgrace,Walmart bun no butter not toasted dry and hard 5% lobster 95% micro shrimp cold no flavor and 1bite each didn t eat it. But paid for it.Waiter super nice but would not ever go again..

We were first welcomed very warmly by the manager, Emrick, who was very warm. We immediately felt at home. Afterward, the waitress, Kimberley, was nice and personable. She truly took care of us making sure we were comfortable in every aspect. The atmosphere was superb and the food delicious. I enjoyed my two salmon poke while laughing with the team. Restaurant that I recommend. I will definitely come back.

There were four of us and all our dishes were excellent. The server was very dynamic, funny and efficient and the atmosphere was pleasant. The only downside: the time it took to receive our orders was a bit long: we had to ask the waiter to bring us the bills and pay before receiving our desserts since we had to leave soon, despite the two hours we had already spent in the restaurant.

Amazing service (Kimberly was so nice!) Food was top notch, drinks were reasonably sized\priced, and the Halloween one was tasty! Only con was that music, starting 20h, was so loud I had to read my friends lips to understand. And since it was PACKED (but still spacey enough tho), everyone was yelling. Not friendly for people with audio processing problems. Otherwise, all of my other senses were delighted! The seasonal decor was !

Large booth, attentive staff, live entertainment. The salmon tartare served with salad and croutons was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The drinks menu is vast and very creative. The apricot sour was refreshing. The classic burger and fries and beef tartare are superstars on the menu. In and out in time for a show in a nearby theatre. Would definitely return.

Although the server was very nice and helpful, the service was a little slow (surely beyond his control). Also, the waiting time for billing was much too long. Despite this, we enjoyed our meal at your establishment.

Charles and Emrick provide service beyond expectations! The MUSIC is amazing (unlike others Ive heard that the person who created the playlist lacked judgment ) The bartender, whose name I forget, had created a of the moment shooter with Nerds candies....it was so good! This restaurant/bar is full of talent!

Unfortunately, the bar staff is too busy at the bar preparing drinks for the restaurant and the terrace.... We quickly forget about customer service. Additional BARTENDERS can be hired who would only be assigned to the rooms services..... A Friday evening and the bar seats are empty... Ask yourself the question...

I would give a 10 star if that was an option. Let me begin by saying all the staff was attentive and very friendly. The food was delicious. And the drinks, all the drinks was mixed to perfection!!! Definitely will return if we come back to Quebec! They have a Tartare special on Mondays. The French soup was all that! Parking: If your lucky, you may find street parking. There is a few parking lots thats 3 mins walk from this resturant.

A great find in Quebec, we had tried 2 other cafes that didnt accept us because they were closing. The snacks were incredible and the drinks are fantastic!

I really like the hamburgers at this place, however, there have been two occasions in which the bread is very hard and the hamburger lacks flavor. Tartars are still a very good option. The cocktails are very good in general, I recommend ordering the shaman and they are very good value for money. The bar staff were not very friendly when I went to place a drink order.

6:30pm booking, no waiting for us, location, clean toilets, great service. Parking: As always, parking at City Hall, close to everything and easy to get out of the City afterwards.

The employee refuses to take a table for 5 because we have a small dog even though the restaurant is empty. She refuses to let us go to the terrace because it is closed while all the terraces on the street are open. Disappointing as we are regular customers of this restaurant chain. We ate on a Monday night when there was a promotion for burgers. $15.00 for burgers and fries. The peppered fries dipped in peppered mayo were amazing! We ordered the chicken burger and ultimate cheese. Both were very tasty. Highly recommend this place for burgers if your touring old Quebec.

I recently dined at your restaurant and unfortunately, my experience was rather disappointing. When I mentioned to the waitress that the lobster roll was a huge letdown, she simply replied that it s not really their specialty. If thats the case, it would be best to either remove it from the menu, advise customers not to order it, or better yet, learn to prepare a proper one, especially considering its high price. Additionally, the Caesar salad was soaked in sauce, making it quite unappetizing. I expected better quality from a restaurant of your reputation.

In center of Quebec City on the closed off street. Everything was just average. Food was okay. I had buffalo chick poutine, wife had burger and fries. Both as expected but not outstanding. Wait staff was okay. No fountain sodas only cans, which is a big turnoff to us. Would we go back probably not

Despite receiving a questionable salad, Mathieu made sure to make the experience super pleasant and did everything in his power to resolve the situation. We book the private room (Coven room I believe its called) for a recruitment event and it was the perfect spot. The food was good, the drinks were good and the service was exceptional. We will definitely book again for future events.

We found this place a pleasant surprise, a good combination of tasty food options and fantastic location, a nice place to eat outside on a summers evening. Although also a bar, they were accommodating to children and happy to make adjustments. The food was better than expected and a good price too. Despite a few inexperinced staff we were very well looked after and appreciate the extra attention from the manager, we even came back for lunch the next day. Merci Beaucoup! Dietary restrictions: Waiers confirmed with kitchen about allergens and adjusted meals. Kid-friendliness: Outside dining for children as they can not enter the bar, they can enter to use washroom which is good. There were good, affordable side dishes for children and we were welcome to share from adults plates as the serves were generous. Many juice options and the food was even brought out first for the child, which is appreciated.

This place kills it! Went a couple of times while in Old Quebec. The Red Bullini was a tasty drink. The Ultimate Cheeeze Double burger, Fish and Chips $ Tao Wings were all great as were the shoestring fries!
