20 Côte du Palais, Québec, QC G1R 2J6, Canada
Familial convivial servi avec le sourire et répondant à vos désirs
Dined early in the evening while passing through Quebec; very friendly service and tasty food. The waitress spoke only French but the menu had English. Small and charming place. We had lamb and sausage wrap combos. My husband's favorite was the potato side -- delicious! But all good, Nice combination of salad, potatoes, and wrap. Made our evening enjoyable.
This was such a comforting dinner. With the mint tea and a dessert at the end. It's really delicious and filling. The staff didn't speak English but we were able to order without any problem. Just use a picture of the food you want if in doubt 😀
If you don't speak French, you may not have a positive experience here. There was no urgency to have guests sit down, take their order etc. Once ordered, we waited 50 minutes for our food (which parts may not have been correct since they had run out of ingredients). The reviews of the incredible food had convinced us to wait, but all in all, it was nothing to write home about. We had ordered the Mezenge (sausage) plate and the Special Combo/Trio (chicken).
I wanted to give 5 stars for the food and service as they were excellent. But when we got back to hotel we found they mis-calculated the bill. Some of the prices listed on the bill do not match the prices listed on the menu. Not sure if they didn’t update their menu after adjusting the price or sth else. Or maybe it’s because the person who took our order wasn’t the person who typed in our order. I hope they can update their pos machine. But the food was fantastic.
I recently discovered this restaurant in Quebec that instantly reminded me of the flavors of my country, Tunisia. The traditional ambiance of the place made me feel like I wasn’t far from home, The service was exceptional, and the food was beyond delicious, capturing the authentic taste of Tunisian cuisine in every bite. It felt like a comforting connection to home, right in the heart of Quebec.
Best north African food in Quebec city. I highly recommend having their couscous and the salata mishwia (grilled salad) and the basbousa as a dessert (the basbousa tastes like heaven). Basically me and my family tried almost the whole menu 🤣, we stayed 3days in Quebec and we kept going back for their delicious food. Chicken pita was great too. The staff are nice especially Salwa, she is SO SWEET AND HOSPITABLE. The prices are reasonable.
My dining experience at Carthage Express was a delightful journey through authentic Tunisian flavors. The falafel wrap was a perfect blend of crisp textures and fresh ingredients, while the couscous with three meats was a fragrant and tender masterpiece. Service was exceptional and the staff are so friendly as well. I liked that the baguette was hot, freshly pulled out of the oven and the dessert with some mint tea was just sublime. Carthage Express beautifully captures the essence of Tunisia in every bite.
Great restaurant with authentic Tunisian dishes. We order the Chicken Couscous, Lubaya, Tunisian Salad and Tuna Brik. Everything was so very tasty and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Such a vibe and great experience. Highly recommend it!
The food is perfect, an authentic Tunisian food. The place is perfect, the decorations there are wonderful. We tried royal mixed 3 meets with couscous, the food tastes amazing there. Also, the kofta plate was amazing. The staff were so nice and friendly. Everything was great, we liked it so much.
I would like to recommend Carthage Express restaurant to you if you are in Quebec city. My experience with the restaurant was amazing. The staff were supper friendly, welcoming you and helping you to choose the food you like. Then, the food comes to facinat you with the Tunisian flavor as you are at home. You will experience special desserts and will definitely come back to this restaurant. Authentic tunisian food with wonderfully tunisian decoration.
Delicious! We got the mint tea, the merguez plate and the lamb couscous!
A magnificent discovery in the heart of Old Quebec! Carthage Express transported us directly to Tunisia with its authentic specialties, prepared with care and generosity. Each dish was a delight, perfectly balanced flavors and impeccable presentation. The warm and refined oriental decor creates an immersive ambiance that perfectly complements the culinary experience. Special mention for the staff, always smiling, attentive and professional, who knew how to make our visit even more pleasant. An essential address for lovers of authentic Tunisian cuisine. Well done to the whole team!!!
A hidden gem of vieux Québec! Enjoyed the delicious taste of Tunisian and Mediterranean cuisine. Their signature Macaroni with stuffed squid and the Couscous dishes are a must. Couscous was available with fish, meat or veggies. Special mention to the very welcoming and friendly stuff of Carthage Express. Vegetarian options: Veggie couscous Green Tunisian salad
Excellent place, service and food
Excellent food and service just a few steps from the crowds. Not fancy but excellent value.
Food was good. All vegetables which was a surprise but it was good.
Great food. Felt like taking a trip to Tunisia.
Très bon restaurant! Couscous royal excellent, délicieux. Je le recommande. Jy retournerai sûrement. Merci! Vegetarian options:
Excellent service and original Tunisian cuisine, couscous, fish, different starter dishes and desserts
Very nice restaurant in the center of Quebec, close to the hotel zone, many varieties of good Tunisian dishes to suit all tastes (traditional and modern), the prices are very reasonable, very clean, charming, typically Tunisian traditional decor, lots of atmosphere. We really loved it, thank you very much Mrs. Salwa and the whole team for your warm welcome, an experience to surely repeat
Excellent meal, perfect service, homemade Tunisian cuisine and affordable price, I highly recommend
Great meal at Carthage! Great welcome and the couscous was delicious :)
Best Aja Mergaz very warm welcome and beautiful decor
I ate a couscous prepared by a beautiful, classy woman, the service was excellent. good bambalouni dessert Good mint tea.. lemon juice.. So good, I left nothing on the plates. thank you to the whole team, big thanks to the owner for everything and especially the decoration
Very good, warm and delicious
The waiter, looking rather austere, with black square glasses attacked me at the end to find out if I had paid even though I had paid his mother at the counter (as if I was a thief lol! ) The atmosphere is dark and gloomy and the taste is really not great. In short, it doesnt represent Tunisia in any way!
This place is a hidden gem, food is so healthy and homely, prices are so decent. Vegetarian options: Salad
The couscous is really good! Simple and perfect service.
Super delicious! I ve been looking for a place offers authentic Tunisian food and I just found the best one, the food is superb and affordable, they ladies who took our order and cooked the food are extremely friendly and kind. They spoke english without being annoyed as we didn t speak french. I highly recommend the couscous with lamp and vegetables, the inside setting is so traditional and cozy yet we had to eat outside as we were in the go. its a must to complete your experience with what Quebec city can offer!
Good plan, I like couscous
Our first impression was a bit concerning but it was early in the evening and there was a small staff. Once the food arrived we were pleasantly surprised and the service was exceptional. The Greek style potatoes were so delicious, meat and meal portions were filling. The atmosphere was authentic. Prices were very reasonable and affordable, certainly for what you receive. Highly recommend and would definitely return.
I went there a week ago I had couscous with sea bream I was with 3 friends. We ate a good soup and had tea with little cakes impeccable service I have a quick question, is the waitress with light hair single? Thank you in advance for your response
Great food and vegetarian options, though they did not speak much English, we got by!
Authentic and delicious Tunisian food. We walked by and thought wed try it and we will definitely be back next time we are in Old Quebec! Picture of the Ogga dish added.
Bad welcome! At the entrance the man who prepares the dishes looked at me with an angry look, not even a quick hello!!! No one showed up to order...I had to go find someone to place my order and finally I got a very hard, almost crunchy pita sandwich and to pay I also had to wait and call the lady myself! And unfortunately she put the machine in front of me and went to the back of the kitchen without asking me if everything was okay for me or not! Really disappointed
Good service and special Tunisian food
This is a place that I would definitely recommend Must try if you love authentic good food and great people
Amazing hospitality, amazing food. So glad we found this place. Highly recommend!!!!
Very disappointed, as a cold start, we ordered a shrimp ojja, order served after 40 min, liquid ojja resembling a soup, 5 liters of oil served with pita bread!!!!! When I mentioned that this type of bread is not used to eat ojja, the answer was simply we dont have any bread today!!! Why not warn the customer before placing an order, and the lady as soon as we arrive keeps offering us couscous. Adding that the ojja was spiced by the tebel never seen before. ????
I had the opportunity to visit your restaurant for the second time with a friend of mine. We ordered various dishes including couscous, the main course. Everything was wonderful as usual. I really liked al3aga Thank you and the chef always greeted us with a beautiful smile and a warm welcome.
Absolutely delicious! Authentic cuisine!
If you would like to try Tunisian food go there. Delicious food and generous with great service. Food : 5/5
Exceptional, warm and attentive service, accompanied by succulent dishes that brilliantly evoke Tunisian cuisine!! I highly recommend it!!
Incredible lamb macaroons thank you saloua
A place to recommend, really delicious meals, service and hospitality, everything was great.
Very delicious food, and clean. The place is beautiful and filled with traditional decor. Very homey and the workers are very kind and welcoming. Highly recommend trying this place out.
Amazing 10/10 Food Service Atmosphere
Everything was absolutely perfect. We had couscous, a treat and we are connoisseurs. Charming staff, discreet but very attentive. And all this for a very reasonable price. A big thank you for this beautiful evening. Vegetarian options: Delicious vegetable couscous.
Delicious Food! Amazing service, very friendly staff! Beautiful decor!! Will come again!!! Food
Incredible food served by lovely people. The Shish Taouk/Chicken was delicious and well worth the price. The woman who helped us recommended the Couscous which was exceptional. We chose the Royale Couscous which comes with lamb, chicken, sausage, some carrots, and potatoes, and everything was perfect. We came for lunch and it was quick and priced very well for the large portion.
Come eat in this Tunisian restaurant. You wont regret it. On the contrary, you will have the chance to travel in time and space. The traditional dishes, spicy tastes and authentic setting will take you back to the countryside, immerse you in childhood nostalgia, and relive the memories of family meals. The place is very well located (in the heart of the old port of Quebec, a very touristy place with a lot of charm, day and night). The staff is very welcoming. I highly recommend the restaurant.
If youre looking for a culinary experience that captures the vibrant flavors of Tunisia, this restaurant is a must-visit. I had the pleasure of enjoying a lunch that included shish taouk pita, couscous, and Moitei/Moitei. The food was simply excellent, with the shish taouk perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, wrapped in a thin bread. The vegetable couscous was light and fluffy, yet rich in flavor, complementing the main dish beautifully. But it wasnt just the food that made the experience memorable; the service was also top-notch. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure every detail of the meal was to our satisfaction. Overall, this restaurant offers a delightful taste of Tunisia, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Highly recommended!
During our visit to Quebec in August, my partner and I had lunch in this restaurant, and it was a delight. The couscous was succulent, generous in quantity and flavor. We even had the chance to taste a new bread being prepared. We recommend this restaurant without hesitation. Thanks again!
Very good welcome thank you salwa and especially the baklwa is very delicious
Good halal food. Language is a barrier though. It was hard explaining to them in English.
Its a little big long for the food to be served but worth the wait, excellent food and good service
Very delicious ija
Excellent food! The staff are so friendly and helpful.
I came from Japan for a trip, and it was the first time I tasted Tunisian cuisine. It was the best meal I ate in Quebec and the one that left the biggest impression on me. I regret not asking the name of each dish in the salad, which was prepared with different kinds of vegetables. The chicken pita wrap was also delicious, and I always want to eat it again. Its a shame I cant find any in Japan. I am extremely grateful to the staff, who were very friendly despite the fact that I do not speak French. Im really happy to have gone there. Thank you so much !
I came to this restaurant after comparing it to nearby restaurants to enjoy delicious food and a unique experience. I ordered food by showing the photos I had been looking for, and the owner gave me recommendations and served me kindly. Of course, the food that came out was also really delicious. The atmosphere is quiet, the prices are cheap, and the quality is better than other nearby restaurants. The service is so friendly that I cant express it in words. We ordered the 3 dishes above. I liked the couscous the best. Other companions said the red food was delicious. I really recommend this restaurant!!
Delicious. A good plan (couscous, seafood pate, ojja mergez)
Carthage Express in Quebec City offers an authentic taste of Tunisia that truly impressed me and my family. As a Tunisian, I found the flavors to be spot on. We tried the Brik, which was perfectly crispy with a delicious filling, the smoky and refreshing Slata Méchouia, and the flavorful Chakchouka avec Merguez Tunisienne, with just the right amount of spice. Each dish transported us back home, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere made the experience even better. If youre looking for genuine Tunisian cuisine, Carthage Express is a must-visit!
The lamb shawarma is amazing!
Excellent service, very delicious couscous
100% would recommend The food is excellent, best price/quality we have found in the city center Food
The boss and the lady who works are very friendly. The only downside was that we were served by the cook himself, he wasnt very friendly, it was as if we were disturbing him.
We were visiting Quebec City for a day and stumbled upon this special restaurant. I was trying to find a place that would provide a unique experience and is not touristy, and this place went well above my expectations. The waitress was so kind and took the time to explain all the items on the menu and what the traditional dishes are. We ended it up getting one combo plate (half and half) and the vegetarian couscous. The flavors were wonderful, portions were generous, and the mint tea was fresh and fragrant. We ended our meal with a couple of Tunisian desserts that were so nutty and indulgent. Thank you for making our day to Quebec City so memorable! Vegetarian options: Numerous delicious vegetarian dishes Can also add falafel to vegetarian dishes
I went there for dinner with friends. The quality/quantity/price ratio is incredible. I have a good appetite and have been full. This restaurant is a hidden treasure!
Excellent ! Very good, fresh and quality products
Pleasantly surprised, we really enjoyed ourselves, a simple little dish but so good and very well seasoned, really well done
So delicious. Quaint ambiance. A must if you want to escape the tourist trap of the main stretch.
I searched on the internet and found this place: its delicious, cheap, and friendly. The photo says its a combo, but its perfect for one of two adults. There is one more drink from the photo food.
It was so good, I had get another one while waiting for a train! Highly recommended
Second visit and another exceptional experience. The service is impeccable, I loved the lamb couscous! Every dish I tried was stunning - officially the best restaurant Ive ever been to in my life. I feel confident trying dishes that I normally wouldnt dare order for fear of disappointment, I know I will be delighted here. Thank you, you are great!
Great food ,I am Tunisian and I brought my French friends here . I tell you I felt like home very proud and happy with the service
The food and service was so great #halal
Its not shish taouk...its seasoned chicken breast with frozen quartered potatoes...
Very delicious food and a unique decoration. The staff are so nice, too.
The best place. Its very tasty
I wouldn t recommend this at all. I have no idea how this place is rated 4.7. The guy at the counter was really rude and the food was below average. Portion sizes, service and hygiene are really bad.
Very disappointed its a shame I had a lot of hope that it would be better than that we ordered a dish of couscous it was (catastrophic) Just tell your Quebecois friends that it s not real couscous But at least its quiet and beautiful as a restaurant But cousin.......sorry
Fast food ? No ! Good traditional restaurant where you can eat in and take away. Pleasant and fast service, clean place, affordable price, quality of the products (the garlic potatoes are great). Very good place for a break. Dont hesitate to go ahead.
Mekla bnina barcha
Beautiful restaurant but the reception was stressful and rushed. We were asked to take the order before sitting down knowing I had a baby. While when others came they sat down and then we brought them the menu. In short, the food is very good, especially the potatoes . There was missing meat and the order was not respected for the Pita Merguez, we were served chicken! The ladies are very welcoming but for the gentleman .
Very warm welcome, very delicious and tasty authentic Tunisian cuisine with fresh ingredients. I had a great dining experience with my family. The quantities were more than generous but I can confirm that we left absolutely nothing on the plates I highly recommend it!
10/10 services
The customer service was lovely! Salwa was extremely kind and we had a great chat with her. The food tastes amazing, as well as her sweets (I recommend the basboosa). The restaurants atmosphere is amazing as well I really felt like I was in Tunisia.
Super friendly staff, the food was simply delicious, it really had a Tunisian taste. I highly recommend
Food was good, staff was amazing, desert was delicious and the place was beautiful
Exceptional service and food! Highly recommended
Loved the food here! The couscous was very well made and the server was great as well. Their potatoes were so crispy and fresh.
Very good service food is very flavourful really recommend
Excellent !! Excellent service, excellent food, very nice atmosphere, we feel at home. Thanks to Mrs. Salwa who welcomed us with a beautiful smile. We will come back without hesitation.
Omg! Very delicious!! The atmosphere is amazing. I love the decor of this place
Must try restaurant for affordable Tunsinian foods if you visit Old Quebec City. Highly recommend trying their pitas - crispy on the outside with sufficient amount of sauce and meat to keep the juiciness inside. Their greek potato is also a must-try
A must-try! Worth the walk from Old Quebec. We ordered the special combo (Shish Taouk pita with half Greek Potatoes and half Oriental Salad), mixed meat plates and Royale couscous and Beef Kafta pita and everything was delicious. The people here are very nice and helpful - none of our party speaks French and not all staff speaks English but they tried their best to accommodate us. Food took a bit to come but only because it was busy at dinnertime. Very affordable too. Will come back next time we re in Quebec.
Came here at 8pm on Saturday and it was closed. At least they should update online the hours if they decide to close early or did not open at all.
Not much service and average food!!
French fries are good, but the rest is bland. I have doubts regarding the cleanliness when I see my food being handled with bare hands by the same person who is touching boxes, washing utensils, and moving things at the same time.
Highly recommend. Very cozy and nice place with a healthy and complete plate of meat and vegetables.
The character is amazing, the food is delicious, you can come with your eyes closed, its one of the best Tunisian restaurants in my opinion
This place is so good and food is way more healthy than fast food restaurants around the corner. Must try if you are looking for something different.
Yum
Super tasty food. Loved it!
A pleasant surprise, I will go back often.
Good halal place..
Ordered the Shish Taouk Trio.. tasted great and bussin potatoes
Great restaurant in the center of old Quebec! Take the half/half formula. The potatoes were to die for, the chickpea salad and carrots were excellent. Vegetarian options: Possibility of eating falafel sandwiches.
Amazing lunch here - Trio Shish Taouk was so delicious! A gem of a place and we are happy we just arrived in Quebec so we can come back for another meal.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. As soon as we started eating we knew we would want to come back for more!
The potatoes are delicious!
Tasty dish, generous portion for the price. Excellent choice of fast food . Shitaouk pita trio with salad and potatoes trio
Great atmosphere and the food is absolutely amazing!! Especially the chicken, lamb and sausage; so tender and flavourful
Everyone in my group agreed the food was delicious, which makes our experience there all the more unfortunate. A man behind the counter asked one of my friends her number as we ordered. Our server also told us as he set down our orders that his friend wanted to talk with her. These interactions made my friend (and the rest of our party) extremely uncomfortable, and we hastened to leave as soon as we finished eating. Beware of the staff s unprofessional behavior if you are considering eating here.
Im leaving the restaurant just now, Im disappointed with the welcome, we entered the person present stayed at the back of the store, she arrived in front of us not smiling barely a hello, we ordered a royal couscous he there wasnt any. We asked him for a recommendation but he barely showed us the menu on a sign and nothing more. Home 0
Cold and disappointing welcome. Young man making no effort to inform our group. So we left
Amazing food and amazing service. The atmosphere is super nice and inviting, and the service is always quick and fast. Food is always hot and fresh, with huge portions! The creamy dipping sauce is the best.
REALLY GOOD
Lebanese cuisine, not Tunisian. Potatoes like at IGA. Serivce makes an effort but asked us 3x our order. Cute decor, but very disappointing food and service.
The best in town, period.
Amazing food!!! Quebec City is so lucky to have this gem. One of the best food we ve tried to during our week long trip and it was so good that we came back three times. You d regret not trying this place, everything was absolutely delicious and the owners are the nicest people:) Food
Best Shawarma in Quebec
Atypical restaurant, very beautiful decor, welcoming staff, the chicken is delicious, I highly recommend it.
Delicious and Affordable, we arrive to Quebec late in the afternoon and decided to walk to eat here from LE Capitole Hotel and were so glad we did, the staff was nice even when it was just an hour before closing, the food was so good!!!
Excellent Tunisian restaurant. The dishes are slightly adapted to the style here and it is successful. The owner is very kind and welcoming.
Loved the « Trio Shish Taouk ». The plate with salade and fries, also the sandwich. If you love this types of food, you have to visit here. Food
We were happy to find this place by accident when searching for a place to eat with small kids. We lived the food the ambiance and plenty of room.
We ordered a shish taouk (chicken) wrap special with the half and half (salads and potatoes) and a falafel wrap. Delicious salads with a variety of vegetables. Potatoes were crunchy with great seasoning. Some of the tastiest falafel we ve had. The bread for the wrap was toasted and slightly crispy. The sauce was yummy. This was the perfect amount for two people to share. Forgot to take a picture before eating. Vegetarian options: Delicious vegetarian falafel. Not sure if it was vegan. The bean and carrot salads were vegan.
Wow. Wow. Wow. The atmosphere and lighting were enough to guarantee this place a 5-Star review. Beautiful colours, magnificent lanterns, mosaics and more. We had the shish taouk with potatoes and salad + drink for $14. Everything on the meal was scrumptious, and supremely well-priced for quality and flavour. Absolute gem of a find, with a friendly man behind the counter. Vegetarian options: Falafel, couscous, dolme, probably more
Superb food, great service especially by the older gent who seemed to be the owner. The best shawarma and ME food we have ever had. Food
Salad in the special shish taouk is tasty with acidity unfortunately In the salad that comes with the sandwich it tastes a lot like cinnamon..
Best hole in the wall lunch spot. Great tasting food made with pride.
I dont really have anything negative to say but this place is awesome, and food was amazing.
The manager is very nice! Everything is perfect!
BEST SHISH TAOUK IN QUEBEC, THE POTATOES AND MAYONNAISE ARE ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS AND THE PRICE IS AFFORDABLE I RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO TRY THIS WONDERFUL RESTAURANT. NATIONAL TREASURE
The best restaurant I tried in Quebec. The owner is very kind and welcoming. The dishes are delicious and the price is very fair. Here you can eat very well and balanced for less than $20. This is quite rare for this city.
Very pleasant welcome, the pitas and potatoes are excellent, all for an affordable price. I highly recommend!
Excellent experience, delicious, nice boss, democratic price
A little gem worth a small detour off the tourist trails. A very happy owner serving with genuine enthusiasm was a delight. The prices are very reasonable in terms of portions and quality of the food. The couscous Royale was deemed excellent and my shish tawouk platter with lovely roast potatoes and 3 different salads was just the right amount and very yummy. If you want something a bit different and quite authentically Arabic (Tunisian in this case), make the effort. Only open until 7pm but you can get take-away too! Recommend highly.
I love the style Very good traditional Tunisian cuisine but not only that, also very good Italian and French dishes. Thank you for the warm welcome.
Delicious food- huge portions, more than reasonably priced I throughly enjoyed this dining experiencing!
Delicious and friendly
I came across it by chance while traveling at last year. The service is quick, the food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. The restaurants decor is intriguing. I strongly recommend it. Please come and try it if you have the opportunity. It will make you feel revitalised.
I was so excited to learn about this restaurant. This place is a bit off the main tourist area, but is worth a visit if you want to try some North African food. Unfortunately for English speakers, the menu is all in French, but I showed the guy a picture of what I wanted and he made it for me. Never had a Shwarma done like this before. The food was tasty and reasonably priced, but the portions were a bit small. I also found it strange that there were no knives at the table. But overall, good experience.
Excellent food and the nicest guy in the world who served us. Highly recommend the Tunisian sausage pita (its a little spicy), and my wife loved the lamb pita. We got a trio and the pitas came with a drink, cold slaw, a bean salad of some sort and great potatoes. 5 of us ate and filled up for ~$70. Fantastic value for money. And did I mention the nicest guy in the world? I can always support a business with great people running it. Go check it out.
Excellent
We saw this place as we were walking by and discovered this place and we were glad that we found this place. The food is really great and reasonably priced with friendly service. Highly recommend this place.
We tried the combo. The food was extremely well prepared and very delicious, both the fries and the chicken. The price was very decent as well. Love the traditional interior decor and the colours.
Everything is so fresh and tasty! Excellent
Really good taste and quality dishes with reasonable price. And also very friendly and helpful staff! Will definitely visit again when being in Quebec city area.
Went in for couscous at the start of the week. We were told it would be on the menu again until Thursday. The merguez was good.
Vegetarian options: The falafel pita is very nice! You can taste the freshness in it. The owner is a very sweet person as well! Food
The worker was nice, the service was quick, and the food was good
The food is so yummmm you will want to have it again and again!!!
The owner would not allow us to look at the preparation of our falafel sandwhich or specify our toppings. He insisted that we sit down away from the counter or leave??? So we left
Pita trio with salad and potatoes 50/50. No complaints, everything was delicious at a very competitive price. A treat
The food was fresh and tasty. The price was affordable considering the generous portion. Very friendly and welcoming owner. Excellent service that will make me want to come back.
I recommend this lovely restaurant with my eyes closed! You eat cheaply there, and the Shish Taouk plate was very good and balanced :)
Bad bathrooms
We arrived at this place after 6 p.m. and it closes at 7 p.m. The chef let us in and was happy to take our order. We were surprised at the prime location and the beautiful decor from Tunisia and Morocco. They dont have an overwhelming selection of food but what they do was delicious. Very good value for money. Service was excellent and quick. Highly recommended!
Great food and nice people very welcoming Take the Murguez Chicken is average Atmosphere is a bit hot pretty uncomfortable to dine in during summer
After walking around old Quebec for a couple hours, I inevitably got hungry and instead of paying a premium at one of those tourist traps by Chateau Frontenac, I decided to come here. The food was delicious, filling, and inexpensive. I highly recommend you visit this authentic North African restaurant if you re in the area, I ll definitely be back!
Just wow!
Tasty and generous cuisine. Very good value for money. I had the shish taouk plate. Yum.
Very good and affordable price.
It s very beautiful and very welcoming
Really very delicious dishes with quick service
Shish tawook wasn t good, rather bland. Floor was very dirty. They didn t understand English well, so we didn t get what we ordered.
The service was friendly, the shawarma is good, so as the potatoes and the chick peas. I dont like the carrots with raisins and the coslow.
The food was good we came specially for the royal couscous but he said he didn t have it. We just had the sausage and salad plate with potatoes, i liked the salads more than anything else. Sausage were kinds spicy.I didn t like how the guy was making the sandwich with his bare hands and then during the sandwich making he would touch the fridge get something and put it in the microwave. There was only one guy doing everything! The place needed to be cleaner and nicer not enough of lights.
A nice, unpretentious place where you eat well . We validate!!!
This food is fire and the owner is nice. Best potato wedges I ve ever had
Came across this place while searching on google reviews and this did not disappoint. We ordered the trio special which consists of pita sandwich+ beverage+ potatoes or salad (please take the potatoes for the ultimate experience). The food is great and filling and the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing. Since it is a bit far from the busy area, you can enjoy your food calmly. Would definitely recommend !
I didnt want to have burgers, pizza, or Italian for dinner, which seems to be the common theme at restaurants in this part of town. So, I decided to try this place that sells Tunisian food. I enjoy my sausage plate - the carrot salad has raisins and the coleslaw tastes fresh. I like the crunchy spice potatoes the most. My partner tried the pita chicken, which turns out to be a delicious great smelling chicken roll. This is certainly a great place that sells low cost but tasty food in this part of town. It offers many dining tables for customers who prefer to dine in. Note this restaurant does not provide table service.
Great find close to Old Quebec. The staff is friendly, the prices are affordable and the food is delicious.
Great service, great food.
I didnt want to spend $26. Or higher for a diner plate- since it was going back to my hotel I Googled restaurants on the way I found this little spot I wasnt expecting much, I ordered the Speacil Trio Shish Taouk Oh my gosh, it was really good! The fresh are potatoes season wonderfully. The staff is very pleasant. The restaurant is simple, extremely casual, which was perfect after a long day of walking throughout Quebec Their prices are good. Very reasonable! I absolutely recommend this little place for a good lunch or dinner!
Authentic merguez sandwiches! Hard to find outside of Paris. Charming decor. Delighted to discover this just outside the tourist area.
Excellent value for money. I loved everything about my shish taouk plate! Very good service too.
such a neighborhood gem. the food was so tasty. the 5 salads are exactly what i needed. really good for cleansing but all of them taste really different too. loved the pita bread and other ingredients in the sandwich too. if there s one thing that could be done better, it would be healthier drink options. most of them are carbonated sugar drinks :/ overall excellent experience
Great discovery, small menu, but well mastered in a suitable atmosphere.
This is a very warm place with full of culture and beautiful artifacts to look at while waiting for your food. The food on the other hand was also extremely delicious and well prepared. Prices are very reasonable compared to what s around the neighbourhood. Definitely a place I would come back to.
The food is wonderful here It was our first time trying Tunesian food and it got us Food
Very pretty setting when you return. I took away and enjoyed it. I loved the tabbouleh! I recommend. Vegetarian options: Great tabbouleh
The dishes were very good with fresh produce. Prices are reasonable. I wasnt able to try the royal couscous but the lamb was very well cooked
Great portions and prices, excellent meal. Kindly accommodated all 13 of us when I made a last-minute ask over the phone 10 mins before arrival. It was a Wednesday night, and they must not have been expecting many since only one employee was there and a few other customers. This solo man took all our orders, put tables together, and made superb food and delivered it to all of us at the same time. He truly made our night after a dumb trip wandering through the city thinking that our group could find a place without reservations. Our talented saviour! Vegetarian options: Falafel is a delicious option, and I believe that there are salads as well.
Absolutely delicious! Super fast and friendly service and really tasty food. Highly recommended
Oriental salads are truly surprising!
Everything we ate was delicious. Very friendly service despite the busyness.
