Really, its very good. Im not vegan or vegetarian but I ate very well. The pasta is exceptionally good. I will definitely return.

The food tasted good and the service was good too. But half an hour after I had the mushrooms risotto and I was eating a chocolate cake, I started feeling a big belly ache, and then I had to run to the toilet. I felt really sick, and now, hours later, Im still feeling sick. I dont know if it was a food poisoning. I dont have any intolerance/allergy to vegan food. Im really worried now. The worst thing for me it that I told the waitress (possibly the owner) and she just said Im sorry. I really hope this wont happen to other clients tonight and in the following days. Definitely something I wasnt expecting. Especially after paying more than $60 for a meal (just for me). Very disappointing

So happy to find a 100% vegan restaurant in Quebec. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night or evening out with friends. Food is creative and delicious. Many familiar dishes, so there is something for everyone. I was able to find gluten free options as well. Staff is warm and friendly and helped me to celebrate my 60th birthday. The owners need to bring their restaurants to the west coast. Thank you for an incredible brunch and a wonderful dinner. Dietary restrictions: Menu well marked for gluten and nut allergies.

Trust me you ll love each and every Item on their menu and the desserts are ..trust me!!! If you are in Quebec stop by(just remember they do close for a few hours in the afternoon)

Superb meal My partner ate the pad thai and I ate the Impossible Burger. Both dishes were tasty and the server was attentive. I recommend 100% even for a non-vegan person they will definitely like it.

We discovered this delicious gem just up the street from our hotel. We ate there 2 nights in a row. We tried the mushroom fettuccine, the risotto, the faux salmon appetizer, veggie burger, and artichoke dip, plus the Don raspberry cheesecake. Everything was succulent, and the staff were wonderful.

For the price, this missed the mark. The food was good, but for the price I would ve expected the food to be great.

My experience at the restaurant was quite unpleasant. It was my first time there, and within less than an hour, I had already formed a bad impression. The staff was loud and distracted, chatting and laughing in the open kitchen while I tried to enjoy my meal. To make matters worse, the same employees passed by me three times, carrying garbage bags, which really detracted from the dining atmosphere. I was even handed the bill without asking for it. Feeling unwelcome, I couldnt even finish my beer. As for the food, it was nothing special either.

This food was incredible. We had planned to go in person, but we had young kids in our group and it was cold and they were tired, so we went back to our b&b. It was our daughters birthday though, and she really wanted this food, so we ubered the pasta & cesar salad with the Don cake. I mentioned that it was her birthday and they sent the chocolate cake, too, and a sparkler. The food was phenomenal. Next time we visit Quebec City, we will be bringing a group and definitely hit up this restaurant in person. Thank you!

We had lunch at Don Vegan, first time dining at a vegan restaurant. The service and food was quite nice, however there were a lot of flies and the kitchen (which was on display and visitors could see) seemed small and not very clean.. it made us question the quality..

Wow, really one of the best vegan restaurants here (if not the best) - fantastic food, good prices and above all super friendly and extremely attentive staff - really excellent! You cant find such a high standard everywhere, I feel really comfortable here as a guest, which is not least due to the rustic and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended! I had expectations and they were exceeded! The prices are really good, the food is incredibly delicious with reasonable portions (you wont be left hungry and you wont be hungry afterwards). The staff is A1 and the place is so charming! Well done and long life! NB for someone who is lactose intolerant, it s a real gourmet paradise!

Ive never had such a delicious vegan restaurant! The atmosphere was nice, the food was delicious, and the staff was friendly.

Most of the dishes were very good: Agnolottis, Bibimbap (spicy) and Beetroot tartare. On the other hand, we found the panko cauliflowers a little less successful. There is a nice friendly atmosphere throughout the restaurant. We are welcomed with the famous Hello Hi that we are more used to hearing in Montreal, which is justified by the presence of several tourists disembarking from cruise ships. The toilets are very small. We are offered default tipping suggestions of 18% and above on the payment machine, which I dont particularly like (you have to choose manually to include a lower percentage like the more common 15%). All in all, a great experience in this vegan restaurant in Quebec.

Great to find a vegan restaurant in Quebec but unfortunately it wasn t worth what we paid for in our opinion. The portion sizes were generous but the taste wasn t anything special. The Pad Thai was okay but didn t taste like Pad Thai and it wasn t enough tofu for the amount of noodles and veggies. Overall, the price didn t match the good (but not outstanding) quality of the dishes.

Love this place, the food is delicious and I had to come back for more. I got the 22$ lunch menu both times, big portions.

Let me start by saying I am not vegan. However the food, staff, and atmosphere was amazing! I had the risotto and loved it. Ann Marie (the chef) was the best and helping the staff. You could tell that she really loves her job and enjoys it! We will definitely come back the next time we are in town

I liked the food but it took 49 mins to get the food after it was ordered. The waitress was so rude when we did not give a tip as per her expectations and came running after us to explain that we should tip her more. I mean she was threatening and giving a lesson on how tips work. Like lady if your service was good enough - I would have gladly paid. Not recommending this to anyone as you will eventually be disappointed with the services and the rude people working there. It was a waste of money which by the way was a bill of CAD350.

The place is at a very nice location with superb food. We ordered 4 dishes and liked them all. They had great dishes from different cuisines. Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian options. Parking: You can park in the paid street parking or the lots and walk to the restaurant, that is much easier. Kid-friendliness: High chairs are available and they have outdoor seating just beside the fountains where kids can play. Take an extra pair of clothes if your kids want to enjoy the fountains.

We were looking for a vegetarian restaurant at Old Quebec and happened to find Le Don. Food is delicious and staff are friendly. Our group ordered the mushroom risotto, the fettuccine, creamy gnocchi and bibimbap. Highly recommend.

A purely vegan spot in an amazing location. It has a cool, low key vibe with lots of selections. I had the spaghetti bolognese and Caesar salad and it was delicious. The service was very slow, even though there were very few people there.

Food: Deliciously spiced and well-cooked. Service: The toilets were very dirty. There was only one dessert menu, and despite requesting it, it took 20 minutes to receive and we never got it. I also noticed a sudden change in the staffs attitude and behavior towards two customers when a tip was not paid.

Super cute restaurant. Very expensive, very chic. Overall we had a great time, our server was polite and helpful, the menu is in English and French so I could order with the help of my French partner. The washroom situation is my personal nightmare with just two stalls and no door for sound protection from the rest of the restaurant. You literally turn a corner and a presented with toilets, just a few feet from their open kitchen. Feels a little weird to me. The food was delicious and they were very accommodating with my allergy however if you need to make any adjustments to your order make sure you either speak some rudimentary French or have someone who can translate for you. They didn t seem too keen on me not being from Quebec, but that s not a huge deal for me. They also didn t offer us an opportunity to have dessert and my partner and I were really looking forward to try some of their options and so we left quite sad that we weren t given that choice and were simply handed the bill at the end of the meal. However besides all of that, we really enjoyed ourselves and had a super delicious flavourful meal. The mocktail list is fabulous and the virgin mojito is to die for. I strongly recommended this restaurant if you was a very chic French experience

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone If I share my experience this was very bad but the staff was worse than the food as they were asking for tips forcefully and since we didnt like the food one of our friends denied it they behaved very badly and when we paid another bill and gave5% bill tips on that and she said that this is the very low amount NEVER COME BACK , this is how to behave with their customers and condition of bathroom was filthy and smelly and next to the kitchen with mosquitoes. Now let s talk about food which was disgusting except dumplings(donplings) which tasted good but the price and quantity ratio were not enough other things like coconut Thai soup, and pad Thai don were very sweet and flavourless. I AM A FOODIE AND HAVE TRIED A HUGE NUMBER OF RESTAURANTS, HOWEVER, THIS WAS MY WORST EXPERIENCE EVER AND EXPENSIVE AND AFTER FORCING ME FOR TIPS THEY BEHAVED IN AN UNPROFESSIONAL MANNER. In the end, one of the girls said We get less pay and we survive on tips which was really unexpected behaviour.

Must read! My second and last visit! Never visiting again as instructed by one of the servers lol. Some parts of food were okay. Rest was just too sweet to be eatable. We had to leave almost two full bowls of food out of three due to their sweetness. Prices were also really skewed and too much for the portion they served. Why one star? One of their server insisted for tips of more than 20% too brazenly and that too multiple times before we even started paying. That behavior offended me and I decided to not give any tips for that behavior and bad taste of food. That server aggressively first told me to give tips. I denied again. I was furious by this time and decided to leave the place. Same server said following dont ever visit us again. To which I just said that you can be sure of.

Awesome vegan restaurant with plenty of excellent dishes. Everything we tried was great, decently sized and very, very tasty: The Wac (a take in Macdonalda Big Mac), the various pastas. The vibe of this place is also good and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Note: if youre coming in the evening you might want to reserve beforehand otherwise you might wait a bit for a table. The place ia quite popular even amongst non-vegan. Highly recommend.

As a vegan I want to support vegan restaurants everywhere I go. I ate inside, the atmosphere was great. The food was delicious, I ordered the creamy gnocchi. It tasted amazing. But my issue is the portion size. It was only half a plate, and the tofu bacon was just a dozen of tiniest tofu cubes. I thought they were going to be usual tofu cubed size, I was counting on getting some actual protein with the meal. Guess not. My friends who ordered the pad thai had an excessive amount of the meal overflowing their plate. And the prices were nearly identical (26$ pad thai vs 25$ gnocchi). It did come with a salad (which was not advertised on the menu - still tasted great) but salads are not exactly filling. Another friend who ordered the agnolittis also did not get a full plate comparable to the pad thai, and that cost 30$. If youre looking to fill your belly, do not order those dishes. Never a good sign when a meal ends and youre just as hungry as when it began.

The food was okay... honestly, it didnt knock my socks off as a well travelled vegan cuisine enthusiast. Atmosphere was neat being on the edge of old QC, but not very functional with tables set up in the square, no obvious queuing area, and pedestrians getting too close for comfort while trying to enjoy a romantic meal together. Tables were crammed way too tight. Service was very slow. In terms of QC, vegan dining options, this is about as good as it gets other than Bloom, which has its own drawbacks. I say try it, and decide for yourself and decide what you think. It is worth a try for sure! Parking: I did not see any signs of nearby parking spots. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level access.

This plant-based restaurant is fabulous, and even carnivores will love it. We found all of the items we ordered to be very nicely prepared, tasty, and healthful. We had gnocchi, two-squash risotto, dumplings, meatballs with sunflower paste. Service from Jade was exceptional, and she was very kind and helpful in answering all of our questions about Quebecois culture and language. We went back a couple of days later for their lunch special, where you get a choice of 1) soup or salad, 2) a burger/risotto/pasta/stir-fry, and 3) coffee. It was excellent. Another server we had (Clarisse, on the receipt) was super friendly and talked to us for a while. Several servers were covering all the tables as a team, and they were all great. We will probably go back a third time for their brunch the day we depart. Cannot wait to return! Vegetarian options: All vegan! And extra points to Don Vegan for pulling off such a complete and refined vegan dining experience in a region that is not otherwise very vegan friendly.

We ordered the guacamole,dumplings,pad thai and gnocchi pesto. We liked everything but the pad thai was sweet and no nut butter wasnt expected. Also the gnocchi didnt taste pesto but it was creamy and surprisingly sweet.

What a great stop in Quebec City! We hadn t booked a reservation but we were lucky enough to get a table on the outside patio. There was a dj playing music, the service was lovely, and the vegan food was delicious!! I had the gnocchi and it was life-changing. I will definitely be coming back!

As a Vegan AND an Italian I loved it. Nice stuff, delicious food and nice location. Only thing Id say is that we didnt know the meatballs were spicy so it was a bit of a surprise and we had to request some bread. We might have missed it when we read the menú tho, Id add a symbol next to the items that are spicy!

What a great discovery! I wanted to please my girlfriend by going to eat healthy, and I was the one who appreciated it the most! The food is really delicious, we shared the artichoke dip, a really well balanced dish, which has nothing to do with traditional dips. Then it was the beetroot tartare and the mushroom risotto. Great vegan food and kind staff. However we asked for sparkling water for the three of us and ended up with three full bottle at 5$ each (excluding taxes) without telling us. Felt overcharged + wasted water (who drinks almost 4L ??) which is really not the vegan spirit .

I visited this restaurant with my wife and our little baby. We were welcomed by Lola on the outdoor terrace. She gave us super good service. From the baby chair to remaking my drink which was too spicy, we were satisfied on every level. The meal was WoW. I ate the best vegan risotto of my life!!!! I like the vibes of the restaurant, its vibrant. The staff was really nice too, they give good service. I ordered the mocktail drinks which is El Pomelo. It was good. I like that. And I ordered Bibimbap. The presentation of the food was nice, its attractive, but the taste, I dont think thats my favorite. The bibimbap was with tofu. For me it was too sour and the sauce is too sweet. If I compared it with korean bibimbap, I dont think the taste is similar. Its already modified I think. Overall its good but I dont like the food that much. I dont know for the other menu though.

Very friendly and cozy. Great service. The food is served hot, really hot and fresh. Everything tasted delicious and well seasonned! I could swear it wasnt vegan because of how much you dont taste any artificial or weird tasting ingredients. All was made with tasty veggies. Their mocktails are also bomb!

The food was delicious and the tastes were all well combined, I really suggest everyone to try the Shish Tacos, delicious! The staff was kind and caring. It is indeed a little expensive, I wish vegan cuisine was more accessible and not a luxury, but overall I really loved it, I live in Montreal but if I ever go back to Quebec City Don Vegane will be my first stop.

Went here twice on our trip to QC and enjoyed both times. We had the beet tartar twice, so good. Also ordered the gnocchis, the little spinach and cashew raviolis and the bibimbap -- all very fresh and tasty. The server at the bar was great - so friendly and gave us some recommendations for coffee shops. So grateful for this all vegan cafe in the heart of Quebec City!

Every thing is excellent, but I wanted a chance to give some constructive criticism on the plates I tried. 1) First, the gnocchi was top notch; best thing I tried. My only suggestion would be to quickly sear the gnocchi to give them a touch of crisp and texture. Otherwise, a perfect dish. 2) Next the fettuccine was quite good. I d suggest trying some thinly sliced sun-dried tomatoes as a garnish, just to give it a touch of pop. That goes against tradition perhaps, but I feel your menu is going for that slight edge. 3) Next was the Pad Thai. The tofu was perfect, and I really liked your take on the sauce. However, it was a bit cloying perhaps after a few bites. My suggestion is to reduce the salt by about 10%, then balance the umami with Thai basil chiffonade and some lemongrass. Maybe steep the lemongrass in the sauce while it s being prepared and remove before serving? Some green onions and just a little pizazz from bird s eye peppers would be welcome. 4) Next the mushroom risotto. This was underwhelming compared to your other dishes. It was good, but completely outshone. I suggest adding those little bacon seitan bits you used with the gnocchi, but really it needs some sweetness or acid to uplift it. Again, not the most traditional, but unless you go nuts on the garlic or something (not the most appealing to a wide audience) it needs something to stand out. My thought is to try something like jewel rice. Add a small amount of golden raisins and barberries while it cooks (or maybe as a garnish, you d have to experiment). It d really elevate all that cream and umami. 5) Next the Donplings are perfect. No notes. Excellent plating and design. Ok, maybe a splash of soy sauce mixed with a very barbecue-y gochujang while they re pan searing. Just a thought. 6) Finally, the chocolate cake is a brilliant interpretation. The popover style so that every serving is fresh right out of the oven with no waste, is a stroke of genius. The fresh berries give a delightful balance. This just me, but what about sticking a little cylindrical raspberry jam plug right in the middle before it goes in the oven? Could mess with your bake, but the extra little berry would tie the fruit from the outside into it in a molten explosion of flavor. That and an extra drizzle of extra dark fudge chocolate for a touch of bitter. Maybe that s over-engineering something that s already great. And that s all I got a chance to try. Every time I go back its worse. Either the service is extremely fast and they throw us out and bring us the bill while were still eating, or the service is extremely slow and we get bored waiting for time to pass. I wont go back there.

Came here on a beautiful weekend evening, and luckily the outdoor seating wasn t terribly crowded. The Tantanmen was warm, made fresh and very delicious! The jackfruit tostada comes with a small side salad with a vinaigrette dressing. Lots of beverage choices, with quite a few non alcoholic options. I had the pina, a pineapple-ginger drink. The server was very friendly and spoke English as well. Service was a little slow but I would still recommend.

Always nice to have lunch on the terrace surrounded by palm trees. Parasols are also available for those who dont want too much sun. A quiet place located just in front of the Vivrière fountain. The soy milk latte is just perfect with lots of foam! I had the fruit pancakes; (You can ask for the cream and syrup separately). (Buckwheat pancakes, banana and chia, berries, hemp seed, soy cream, maple syrup and coconut whipped cream).

Oh myyyyy goodness, I ve taken on the challenge of being a vegan for a time and was worried that old Quebec City would have limited options for me. But just a 9 minute walk from the fairmont I was impressed by the atmosphere and the FOOOD was amazing. The prices are reasonable and I felt clean and healthy leaving that place. I would book the hotel across the street next time and try more on their menu even when I m off vegan. I only have videos of the food which was beautifully plated so I can t post them here but just go you won t regret it. I tried the bruschetta and Thai soup and the risotto. Absolutely loved everything about our experience here. It was by far our favorite restaurant we ate at in Quebec City. We started with their amazing dumplings and ordered the gnocchi and their bibimbap for our meals. Their cashew sauce on the gnocchi was so creamy and flavorful I was scraping it off my plate by the end. The bibimbap had amazing flavor as well as veggies that were perfect crispiness and delicious pickled radish. We were full by the end but the food was so good how could we say no to dessert. We finished our meal with their poor mans pudding and it was worth it. I completely understand why that is a crowd favorite. The perfectly fresh fruit with the sweet maple and creamy/airy cake was heavenly. All I can say is you definitely want to go here and should share everything because youre going to want to try it all. On top of the amazing food our waitress was super sweet and had such a great bubbly personality. Such a delightful restaurant.

I recommend Le Don a thousand times. This is the second time I have come in a short time and my satisfaction during my first visit was not due to chance. The menu is varied, the plates are colorful, everything is extremely well seasoned and the combinations are sometimes unusual but successful. Here we eat real cuisine, which is vegan, and it s not just a salad. Everything is meticulously prepared and the taste pleasure is incredible! Rather classic in my choice the first time, this time I dared to order the jackfruit bowl, a fruit which is completely unknown to me. It was a treat! I wont say more except that you have to let yourself be tempted by the experience!! And the cashew beet raspberry cheesecake was delicious too! Many non-vegan restaurants cant hold a candle to Don, so bravo!! You risk converting more than one!

The most wonderful experiences I ve had as a vegan while eating outside of my own home! Also, being from the states, I have yet to find a spot here that tops this one! I made visits here for four days straight while in town, and tried several different dishes and all were a hit for me aside from one that just didn t sit right on my palate(curry masala) but literally EVERYTHING else was extremely delicious, satisfying, and well presented. The burrito bowl and Tostada Don have to be my favorites because of the BBQ Jackfruit which was chef s kiss! I love that the burrito bowl is so filling! I almost couldn t finish it but it tastes so good that I couldn t not finish it! Another top dish was the creamy gnocchi, yum! The staff was just lovely, very pleasant and helpful. I can t wait to go back! I m craving it now while typing this! This is the only place I ate at my entire visit! I would eat here everyday if I could!

Food was overall quite good. However, I had had higher expectations given the price. For 2 starters, 2 mains, and 3 drinks, the cost was $150 before tips. In Ottawa or Montreal, you would be able to get better vegan food for this price. Another issue for me was the bathroom - it was disgusting with multiple flies in each stall (and it wasn t even a hot day at 15 degrees!) Here are detailed reviews for each dish: - DONplings: they were okay. I would ve preferred them deep fried than pan-fried. - Thai soup: very good with the right flavours. However, it did not rival my favourite Thai soups in Ottawa that costed less. The tofu cubes in the soup were marinated but did not go well with the soup. - Mushrooms linguine: rich, creamy, and flavourful. It was my favourite dish of the meal. - Two squash risotto: delicious at first bite, but it got boring quickly after. It reminded me of a specific brand of veggie bouillon I would buy at grocery stores and make soups with. Not impressed. - drinks: I got a mocktail named La Pina. It tasted really good with pineapple flavours. But it was so sweet that I gave it up after slowly sipping on half the glass.

A little disappointed by this address, we went there for brunch. In my opinion, the plate lacked a little consistency for the price, what I ate was OK but not transcendent. I imagine that the price is undoubtedly justified by the quality of the products (which I appreciate and respect) and the location but unfortunately it is a disappointment for me who am not normally a big eater but who remained on my hunger, in terms of quantity and taste, including coffee. However, my friends told me that the dishes are more copious and good so perhaps avoid it for a brunch and try again for a meal.
