The portions keep getting smaller. I used to get a whole take out box full of a side salad last week in a tiny container. The beef dip got smaller as well. Not worth the price at all

Great food, definitely has a home cooked meal feel. Love that they leave a coffee pot for the table. Usually quite busy, but fast friendly service.

Food here is always great, the staff is very friendly. The French toast is some of the best French toast Ive had.

I have been going here for thirty yrs. In the past, it was known as the best breakfast place in Red Deer. It is still good but not as consistent with the food. Its a busy place, so food is not always hot. Service is awesome!

I got fries, chocolate icecream, and some chocolate milk with some water, the fries tasted very good, definitely top 5 in best fries, the chocolate icecream tasted a tad bit weird but I was able to eat it, wonderful place!

We dont often eat out, but if were going out for breakfast, its ALWAYS Phils.

if i could give 0 stars i would however it wont let me ! first time customer will not return ! food was cold as if it was sitting around before it was delevered to my table . coffee cold . bad service as the waitress had only excuses . was missing item that was ordered the fist time .. then ended up leaving after an extra item never showed up 46 mins after we sat down .very poor quility food sausages taste like they were cooked hours ago and warmed in the microwave . went to DENNYS ! all around horrorable experience garbage ! at phills seeing the responses from the owner manager nothing but exuses oh well dont care same from years ago on the reviews .not a proper way to run a buisness , and the restuarant dirty ! i did phone and talked the G M jeremy ihe told me he will fix the problem . im glad he did that good for him the rite thing to do

Fish Tacos are horrible! Soggy dry shell...loaded with thick chunky red cabbage and not crispy fish batter...worst I ever had!!!

food is always yummy, dont order the iced coffee it tastes like milk. do order the pancakes and pork chubbies. felt a bit rushed by the service but it was the last hour of being open. will go back

This was one of those places I went to craving a great diner type breakfast. Under the recommendation of a bunch of people plus the online recommendations I decided to go. But to my dismay it was no good. Food was bland. Will not return.. still on the hunt for the best diner in Red deer or Alberta for that matter.

This is my favorite breakfast spot! The restaurant itself is warm and homey. The service is fast and quick, but they never skip the smiles and friendliness! The food is always hot and delicious! Definitely a returning customer!

Phils is one of my favorite places to eat when in the area is filled with good memories and delightful experiences with friends and family. Ive always found the staff to be polite and deligent. And the food to be amazing. All in all, sure to not disappoint so next time youre in the area you must try phils resteraunt. Ps save room for desert the ice cream is to die for.

Wheelchair accessibility: Sidewalk is full cracks that could make it challenging for a wheelchair, door isnt automatic but staff do jump to help you with doors. Only 3 handicap parking stalls, so had to go through parking lot with normal stall. Food

Breakfast for two consisted of a short stack of pancakes and an order of potato pancakes. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was very good. Will definitely be coming back.

Phils. Always consistent, always dependable, always delicious, often busy. Havent been there in years, but was so excited to go. Did not disappoint. It was just as I remembered.

Even on Fathers Day, a very very busy day for restraunts, we were seated fairly quickly and got our meals in a timely manner. However our waitress seemed overwhelmed and it took her 5 trips to get everyones drink orders taken. The food was okay, big enough portions but somewhat expensive. I will definitely come back on a different day when they are hopefully less busy and see if the service is better.

I love Phils I order from here weekly at work. Lately the corner beef on bennys or sandwich has been so chewy and inedible the last 3-4 times I have ordered I just wanted to bring attention to this. I want to leave a 5 star review so bad but lately the food has been very subpar compared to the past.

Very 90s family restaurant vibe. Server was polite, attentive and talkative. Menu had a wide range of all size appetites. Not only that but they had a wide range of foods and combinations. Had the salmon Benny, eggs were poached perfectly. Hollandaise was creamy with an excellent flavour, wasnt chalky or overly salty. Had different hash brown options and 3 syrups for the pancakes/waffles. Not only that but they have their own chubbies which are breakfast sausage patties that you are able to purchase for home as well. I was very pleased with the restaurant and would definitely go again. Parking: Parking was a little cramped around the building, but if you park in the plaza near there and walk over there wouldnt be an issue.

Warm and friendly service, but the food was hit-and-miss. While my dining companion liked her meal (sausage chubbies, egg and hash browns) I was disappointed with my eggs benedict. The eggs were perfectly cooked, but the hollandaise was almost anemic (off-white, translucent and very bland.) The biggest mystery to me was the hash browns - mine were under-cooked, while my companions were done perfectly. Dietary restrictions: Variety of gluten-free options.

Supper was really good tonight. We took the grandchildren with us tonight. Theyre 3 and 7. Besides the crayons and activity sheet they now have a great mix of mini cars, trucks, airplanes, little creatures and other assorted mini toys, the kids love them. The both of them ate all of their supper and were well behaved. Our meals were noice and freshly made to order. We love going to Phils, the staff are always really pleasant with all of their customers and the food is always made to each individuals preference.

Phil s is the reason why mom and pops restaurants are so much better than a franchise. Really good food with decent portions.

Brought granddaughter here for late lunch. Quite a few patrons at 2pm Which surprised me. We were seated right away and Alyssa was amazing and I appreciated her being our server.helped with ordering for GDaughter, Made sure we both had everything we needed, followed up ect. Thank you! Granddaughter needed trip to washroom. But when leaving that room I left my cellphone behind without realizing and returned to our seats to eat. Not soon after, Keanna appeared at table asking if I had forgotten my (new) cellphone in washroom. Oh!!! Thank you so much Keanna for finding and returning it to me. Red Deers best kept secret ... Shhhh ... Dont tell!

Always a good spot

3 months after placing a delivery order, I am still fighting to get a refund for food I never received. I placed a food order for a work meeting for myself and my coworkers through Uber Eats. After 40 minutes, our food arrives. Well an order of pancakes arrived. Call the restaurant to let them know that I was missing most of my order. The manager on duty tells me that the server who handed out the order the order forgot the other bag and that I could come pick it up if I wanted to. I couldnt do that because I was about to walk into a meeting. So because I wasnt willing to go pick it up myself, I was told I would have to contact Uber and ask for a refund. Well 3 months later and 5 support tickets in, I have still not received a refund. So I have paid $72 for an order of pancakes. While they were nice and fluffy, they were not worth $72 and the time I have wasted trying to get this resolved. The lack of care from both Phils and Uber Eats has left a lot to be desired. The bag was not marked, the manager didnt seem to care to fix the situation and as the consumer, I am left paying for something I never received. This could have all been resolved if the restaurant would have taken accountability for their mistake (that they admitted to) and arranged to have my delivery sent out. If you are not willing to label your orders and make sure the customer receives what they have paid for, why participate in delivery programs. The driver did his part and picked up what he was handed. It is Phils that made the error and left the customer without their order.

Canonical breakfast place in Red Deer Alberta.

Not so small place to have a nice breakfast. The place is clean and very polite staff. We went twice for breakfast and it was tasty and well served both times. The chocolate and day soup are delicious at a good price. My kids like it very much. Totally recomended. Thank you.

2023-08 I accidentally discovered this restaurant for breakfast. There were a lot of people and we waited at the door for a short while. The food tastes good. The portion of milk smoothie is huge.

Went in on Saturday, September 2 we waited for a bit which is the norm BUT Whike waiting we were first on the list and all you seen were people getting table after table like hello these people came in after us. Thanks for making my favorite breakfast place not my list.

This is my first real bad review. We are home sick so we ordered food and had someone else pick it up and bring it to us. They not only messed up the order, it was cold and the packaging was squished and soggy. They didn t cook the eggs as asked, they didn t listen to the order instructions and messed up the order. Just overall very disappointed. And with the mess up not everyone got what they asked for. I wouldn t order again.

Not a fan of the sausage chubbies. They taste greasy and of cheap quality. Eggs were okay. Bacon was good. Atmosphere isnt bad but doesnt stand out. Service was standard.

I just love this lil diner! I come here plenty with my best friend or with my mom and we always enjoy the busy warm atmosphere and yummy food and the classic diner coffee love all the waiters and waitresses here too theyre so friendly!

We went for the first time Sunday morning. I had the eggs benedict and it was tasty and the eggs were done correctly. The crepes with fruit were good as well. We liked that they brought a carafe of coffee so we could drink at our own pace. Sunday morning is free pancakes for little kids so it was quite loud. Overall quite good but a total cost of $50 is on the high side. Expect to wait a few minutes for seating. Kid-friendliness: Good place to take kids, special pricing on Sunday.

This is our go to breakfast spot in Red Deer! Always a pleasant experience and kids get free silver dollar pancakes! I only wish they would ditch the extra charge on the whip cream & sprinkles. Highly recommended the Hangover Poutine!

Too bad there isn t less than one star. I went in to get a take out order. Ordered one waffle and a side of bacon. Got charged for one waffle with bacon and a side of bacon. On the way home it smelled weird but didn t think too much. One bite out of the bacon I knew it was bad. Called the restaurant to be told by the manager that they were sent suspicious bacon but used it anyway. Within minutes I was horribly sick to my stomach. Had to take gravel and charcoal to keep from vomiting. Hours later I am still horribly sick to my stomach. Took the order back and got a refund and was told they threw out the bacon. How can anyone cook bacon that was so obviously spoiled and serve it? The manager said they didn t know how to read the expiration date wow, never again. Food safety will be hearing about this I threw out the piece I took a bit from and the birds wouldn t eat it, says a lot about Phil s food.
