Phenomenal food. Ive had everything but the chicken so far. Cheese steak with the smoked beef, instead of roast beef, is my absolute favorite. Everything Ive tried is 10/10. With food prices the way they are, this is comparable in price to most chain fast food prices, but this is NOT fast food. This is a pit master in your local area. Friendly efficient service. Even gave me a free jus due to my excitement. Only took one start from atmosphere due to bathroom cleanliness, but I am a prude that way. Everyone needs to try this place.

Do not come here if you have allergies. I asked to be accommodated and they said it was not possible, so I did not even get to try the food. Very disappointed.

I just ordered the absolute best beef dip and macaroni salad I have ever had in Canada. It is not even close. Food in Southern USA is awesome and most of Canada is bland; including 90% of Red Deer/Alberta diners. This meal I ordered is stunningly great. Thank you Cowtown! You take your craft seriously while so many others are just lazy.

A friend and I ate here and I absolutely loved it. He, on the other hand, found it to be too spicy hot. After sampling all of his items and enjoying my own we realized that every single item we had (6 of them, all different) was very spicy. After we sat down to eat the staff cranked the music so loud that we could not converse as we ate. We had to ask them to turn it down, which they happily did, but imo, a patron should not have to do that. If you like spicy I highly recommend this place! If you don t, I think you ll be disappointed.

I drive 14 kms to try the place out. Big beef fan. 4 people at one booth noone else dining in. 2 fellows in front of my. 1st guy orders. Then the gut taking orders says to the 2nd fellow. if your order is simple I will take my turn next no greeting just u have to wait 7 minutes I have 5 things to do. Omg. I left obviously he couldnt handle 6. Terrible disgusting way to treat customers. They will be lucky to make it to April with this very bad attitude. Dont darken their door!

This is easily the best BBQ Ive had in Alberta. The only place that rivaled here was in Texas.... I had the hickory smoked beef and it was mind blowing. Our whole group was thoroughly impressed and finished their plates despite being incredibly full. For $20-$25 you will have a hard time finishing a massive meal that is absolutely mind blowing. The staff was welcoming and the service was excellent. Will go out of my way to stop here everytime I drive through red deer.

Jan 6/2024. Just got home from picking up an order of a large beef dip with caramelized onions instead of raw. No onions at all were put on the sandwich so I called to advise them. The person answering the phone listened to what I said, and then just hung up with no response. Lost my business.

Would love to blame uber, but unfortunately it took the same amount of time to get to me as it has with other restaurants in this area and beyond. Food tastes great when not over saturated with salt or soggy, so probably not the best option for take out even if you order condiments seperatly.

I had the privilege of trying cowtown beef shack for the first time. Jaryd called for a small electrical job and i was able to grab a delicious lunch at the same time! The serving was massive and delicious. I had a beef sandwich and the chipotle mac and cheese was as good as it gets!

I ordered a beef dip and a juice. Pretty simple. All they did was give me the dip. No sandwich no juice. So I went back and got my sandwich. Still no juice. Ridiculous. $4.10 for a juice I didn t receive

Subway probably has a better steak sandwich then this, soggy flavourless red peppers onions with no flavour, beans are literally swimming in bbq so if you re into paying $30 plus tip for that fo for it.

Cowtown, more like wowtown!

My husband and I ate here for the first time and our minds were blown away. We thought at first that its a bit pricey for sandwiches, but the size of the portions as well as the quality of the food is totaly worth it. We ordered two large sandwiches and could barely finish half. Personally I couldnt wait to get hungry again just so that I can eat the second half for supper. It was a messy affair, and sometimes attacking with a knife and fork seemed easier, but eventually I won the battle. At which point it was nap time. My husband loves smoking meat and making pulled pork sandwiches, so his standards were pretty high. After the first couple of bites he admitted this was way better than anything he made at home and totally worth leaving the house for. In addition, the owner who also made the food was the friendliest person Ive seen in a while. It was pretty obvious that cooking was a labor of love for him. He was so enthusiastic and passionate about it, and answered all our questions about the ingredients and methods of prepping the meat with detail and excitement. The place is comfortable to sit in, theres plenty of space between the tables and the decor is tasteful and minimalistic. It compliments the food without distracting from the main experience: chewing. Overall a great experience.

Ordered on uber, was to my door in 20 mins. Beef dip was delicious and definitely worth the price! Asked for extra aus jus and got way more then expected. The potato salad is stellar and a massive serving. 5 all the way!

Generally they make an excellent sandwich. Unfortunately for the second time when I have ordered the Cheese Steak. Instead of getting strips of roast beef I have received broken pieces of roast beef which are saturated with juices. By the time (5 minutes) I start to eat it the bottom of the bun is sopping and because of the small pieces of meat the whole sandwich falls apart before you can eat it! Use to be a favorite, after the second time this happened I will not be returning.

The young gentlemen that served me the evening of January 17 2022 was very professional, helpful, and under appreciated in the art of sandwich making; time, care, and passion went into assembling my dinner. I watched as he invested his time into making sure the presentation of my meal was everything. Good customer service and presentation of a meal sets your taste buds into gear before the tasting even begins.. and the taste was very good! Good job cow town!

Pulled pork sandwich was so good, loaded with meat, Juicy and tasty. One of the best coleslaw we ve had, a nice mix with the cranberries. Mac and cheese loaded with meat. Highly recommend this place.

Went here after taking a look at the menu out of pure curiosity. Sounded good so we had to try it. It was delicious!! Both my boyfriend and I had the beef dip and it didn t disappoint. Just moved to the area so first time here and it was phenomenal! I had the Poblano chicken ranch rap and potato salad. It was super good! So flavourful! The tall fella was really friendly and knows the menu in and out. Make sure to get the run down from him. Great customer service! Definitely recommend and definitely will be back!

Coming here was a very unpleasant experience, I had to listen to the owner singing songs with multiple racial slurs during my meal and he was very rude to both me and the customers at the table beside me. That was my first and last time ever going to this restaurant.

If you wanna pay 16 bucks for a dry, bland roast beef sandwich with a bit of bbq sauce on it this is the place for you.

This was a total unexpected visit here. My husband and I were looking for somewhere to have lunch and saw the sign. A quick google made us go why not. It absolutely did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and courteous, and the food was Amazing. I had the pulled pork with cranberry aioli and the potato salad with beans on it( this was a pleasant surprise. My husband and I decided the potato salad kind of tasted like the last bits you scrape together on your plate at a BBQ. This is a good thing by the way!)My husband had the Beef dip. All the food was great and generous portions. Well done we will be back.

So in an effort to get out of my usual eating joints, I figured I would try Cowtown. Try and support something somewhat new to town. Well about a week ago I ordered online only to have one of the workers call me to tell me that they were closed. Their posted hours for that particular day was till 20:00. So Friday rolls around and we decided that we should get something from Cowtown. Posted hours showed a closing time of 21:00, the time was about 20:15 that I finished my order online and received my acknowledgment email. Approximately five minutes later I received a phone call from the manager, who called to inform me, that the order had been canceled, as he had already sent his staff home for the night. Twice within the last ten days I have tried to eat there. I m not talking late, late, late night eating, maybe a change to your hours to reflect either diminished customer demand or lack of employees.

We ordered takeout here for our Red Deer crew, under our foremans recommendation. Very good! Food was a hit, everyone loved it! Generous servings of high quality beef on our orders, pork piled high on the pulled pork sanny. No one went hungry. Good value for the dollar here.

Got takeout for a friend and I- really great food and the kindest staff. A+ to the guy working tonight that suggested cheese sauce on the side to avoid a soggy sandwich. You re a genius and a hero. If you re reading this and thinking of eating here, you should. Their smoked meats are unreal, unbeatable quality and flavour, you won t be left hungry, the location is modern and clean, and the people who work here seem really nice.

Got my food home and the sandwich was so soggy that the entire sandwich fell apart when grabbing it. After calling the store the supervisor blamed me for getting the sandwich wet and wouldn t not offer refund or even make a new sandwich.

We were very disappointed with our food. The beef on my sandwich tasted like it was just beef, no flavor, no seasoning, very bland and boring. My sandwich was suppose to come with cheese, which I ordered extra and there was hardly any cheese on my sandwich, maybe one little pinch. It s kind of ironic that the best part of my meal from The BEEF Shack was my Ceaser salad. I ordered some beef jerky as well, I got teriyaki and salt n pepper. The teriyaki tastes like it s salt jerky. There is no taste of teriyaki what so ever. The salt n pepper was ok. The jerky itself isn t bad, but the labeled flavor is not what it says it is. For as expensive as it was ( $78 for two people, including the jerky)

I had the BBQ chicken although I changed it up a bit. It was quite tasty. The chicken was nice and soft. Price point is a bit expensive, but in comparison with cilantro and chive I gotta say the value for money is better here for the amount you get. I got my food quickly! Nice atmosphere. Keep up the good work! Will definitely be back at some point. A lot healthier than a Wendys combo and way yummier!

Hidden little gem in Red Deer and so incredibly good. I cant wait to introduce my friends to this place. We got the Hickory smoked beef sandwich with Mac & Cheese and a Pulled Pork sandwich with the Cowtown Special (potato salad with baked beans). We just sat there in silence eating because it was so damn good!! Really well thought out sandwiches with a good combination of ingredients. Service was excellent too. The owner told us how they prep and smoke the meat inhouse. Must try for foodies, will definitely be back!!

We had the hickory smoked sandwich large size with macaroni and pulled pork side it was amazing definitely one of the best sandwiches Ive had in a very long time recommended to anyone good amount of beef in the sandwich half pound for the large very good flavor juicy I really like the bun as well the staff was very helpful and friendly and it only took about 10 minutes to get our food which is pretty good the size of the sandwich is what impressed me its what Id call a manwich lol

Picked up a sandwich from here and the flavor on the beef was wonderful, downside was they didnt put nearly enough sauce on the sandwich, with more sauce I would have gone 5/5. Had the mac and cheese as my side and that was excellent as well. Definitely will be returning.

So tonight my hubby & I tried Cowtown Beef Shack Red Deer for the first time and o...m...g! The food was simply amazing! My hubby got the Cowtown cheese steak sammy with pulled pork mac n cheese. And I got the BBQ chicken sammy with Shack ceasar salad. Both our meals tasted ridiculously good! Huge portion size, decent prices, great value! We are definitely going back there. The owner was super friendly and you cant beat the atmosphere in there. Thanks for the absolutely amazing food - you guys knocked it OUT OF THE PARK!!!

Just had the best bbq chicken sandwich mmmmmm sooo good highly recommend. My sister had the beef dip she loved it and my nephew has the pulled pork and he loved it too!

Ordered pulled pork with bbq sauce and slaw. Lots of pork on the sandwich which was great but not a word of a lie, one small squirt of bbq sauce in the middle of the pulled pork, the rest had no sauce at all. The bun wasnt even good. The slaw had either very little or no slaw sauce in it either. Super dissapointed as it was my first meal there and I normally love pulled pork with bbq sauce. Honestly, I probably wont be back.

Friend recommended it. Im always down for slow cooked beef anywhere I can get it. You can tell these people love meat too. And I they gave me a free cup of au jus just cause I asked!

In response to Adam Butlers review below on September 13th in regards to his negative comment regarding mask use----I am sorry that as a locally owned independent business you have to bare the brunt of people who wont follow mandates! You are doing the right thing-unfortunately some people are just crummy! The majority of Albertans, even if they do not like wearing a mask do it - because it is not the small business owners fault. Ultimately you should not be punished because someone is having a temper tantrum. I commend you for standing strong for the safety and wellbeing of our community! I will continue to support your business and you do not need the likes of Adam! Citizens of Red Deer and area if you are supporting these hard working local entrepreneurs like Cowtown Beef Shack, please dont be an Adam!

Thank you Cowtown Red Deer for sticking up for your staff and customers. Those not wanting to wear a mask have made their choice, and it is to not enter places of business. The person complaining about wearing a mask cares only for their own comfort. They will not be there when you have to pay a fine, because it is government mandated, nor will they be there to work a shift when you or one of your staff can t work because you are sick with Covid. I for one will support businesses that care about my health and safety, and the health and safety of their staff. Thank-you

Adam Butler, I read your comments and the owners comments and I am appalled by your blatant disrespect of this small business owner. You should be ashamed of your behaviour! He is just trying to keep his business open safely by following the public health requirements. If you do not want to wear a mask for less than 5 mins, then fine, don t. You could have said I ll wait in my car then. Can you please bring my food to my vehicle? I am sure the staff would have gladly accommodated your request. Instead, you took it upon yourself to be rude and walk out without paying for your food which comes out of their own pockets. All I can say is that is if you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff continue to go out of their way to keep the community safe. Be kind, wear the manditory mask and enjoy the amazing Cowtown Beef Shack Food!

I ordered a regular beef dip with the new Mac and cheese for a side. It was just under $20 and came with a drink, But man it was tasty and large enough I couldnt eat all the Mac and cheese. Both tasted great. The Mac and cheese was a little different than most places, but in a good way. That was my first visit and wont be my last.

Staff were very helpful providing information about the dishes. The mac and cheese is a must-try; literally the best thing I have had in a long time. Good eats here!

Ordered takeout Smoked brisket = awesome Chicken sandwich = awesome Caesar salad = awesome Potato salad topped with baked beans and aoli = tasty... Just not our thing (next time well try the sides separately) Mac & cheese with pulled pork = most excellent... (this is a comfort food wonder-meal all by itself!!!) The sandwich buns were delightful!!! Overall, meat quality, flavour and portion size were excellent. The owners do what they do very well... Value for price was very good... Welcome to Red Deer!!!!

Very impressed! Smoky wonderfulness wrapped in sweet sauce and fresh bread. One sandwich was missed on the order so the owner brought it directly to us. Fantastic customer service! Will definitely be ordering from here again. Thank you to the team at Cow Town.

Finally made it to this place last night. It was excellent. Though above average price, it makes up for it with incredible food.

Really good food, watch the pricing though, we had to go back in for a refund as they grossly overcharged.

Wow! I had the beef dip sort of. It wasnt like any other I have ever tried. It was way better. The prices are high but between the amazing food and service it more than makes up for it.

Really delicious pulled pork. Wonderful service . We couldn t eat in but still warm when we got home the other side of town. Going back for sure ! highly recommend! Go with an empty tummy , you get A LOT of meat.

HAVE THE BEEF DIP!! It is amazing. I was told by the staff this was their specialty. The staff were right. I really like how everything is made in house.

I had the smoked beef and it was tremendous, great beans as well. My new favourite spot in Red Deer for a quality meal. Will be coming back soon.

Ordered the beef dip. Decent sized portion. Couldnt actually finish it in one sitting. Its got a pretty strong beef taste with the au jus which might not be for everyone. I thought it was pretty good though.
