Earls Kitchen + Bar in Red Deer

One of the consistantly better places to eat in Red Deer...the best patio. Careful though, can be quite busy on weekends and some weeknight Dinner rushes (especially when events are on at the Westerner). Note, corkage is available if you want to bring a special bottle.

Been a while since I hit the local Earls and boy was it good. Full house but fast and great service. Meal was fantastic. Will be back soon. Top tier as always.

So disappointed with the service! A group of 6 of us just sat in the waiting area for nearly an hour after being told it would be a 15 minute wait. Never once were we offered an updated time frame or given a reason until we went up and asked 30 mins in. At least 8 other groups of people came in and were given a table while we waited, 1 group of 5 and 2 groups of 4, many groups of 2 or 3. I can appreciate that a table for 6 is more difficult to accomodate but the lack of communication was extremely disappointing. Even upon asking how much longer, no apology was ever offerred, no attempt to make amends was brought up. The explanation we were given after 30 mins was that the table they planned to seat us at was paid up and still socializing. We chose to continue to wait for another 30 mins but threw in the towel around the 1 hour mark unfortunately. Usually we love going for food here as have never been disappointed like this before! Kid-friendliness: We had 2 children ages 5 and 6 waiting as part of our group of 6. They did great trying to be patient but an hour before even being seated is simply far too long for any child.

Steak wqs so dry.. Wrong order served

Visited Earls on Feb 17th at 6:00. The hostess on shift was very unacommodating for our party of 5. After trying to decide which table for 4 with an extra chair jammed angrily at the end of table, we were seated. Her attitude came off as very unwelcoming and we were on the verge of going somewhere else. With 2 men of husky stature, the booth was more suited for a party of 2. Would not work by any stretch of the imagination. Went to the hostess station and luckily there was a wonderful lady more than understanding and willing to assist our seating needs. We were then seated in the lounge for a table for 6 with more than enough room to accommodate everyone. She was awesome, (definitely more experienced and talented in the service industry). Grateful!!! During dinner I was met with a very inappropriate glare from the first hostess in passing. (Wow.) Our server was awesome and dinner was great! For patrons first impression, it was not inviting at all. Five stars to food, server and second hostess (manager?), zero stars for first hostess. Definitely not her forte. (Oddly reservations are not taken.)

Seems quality of food and service has declined everywhere. Please dont let it happen at Earls. Last visit was sub standard with slow service, seating was annoying (we were sat at a table beside window that the chairs were so low we almost had our chins on the table). Sushi cheaped out on orange sushi sauce, our favourite part of dynamite rolls. Burger was awesome, fries hot and delish.

Whoever is cooking right now give them a raise ! I ordered take out - the last time is was not that great after ordering my usual. I decided to give another try today because I had a craving . Wow , did not dissapoint !!! Everything was so fresh and baked or cooked to perfection , you would never know it was takeout ! Staff were welcoming and the Halloween atmosphere was on point . I was early to pick up my order but It was worse it because it was as fresh as serve on the table by the time I got it home in 10 mins

Alot of vegan options. But barley any gluten free and vegetarian options together.. I ended out getting a vegetarian pizza with the gf crust and it honestly wasnt good at all. Dont recommend coming here if you have food allergies. Very disappointing...

had such an amazing experience at the red deer earls! our server lindsey was great and offered us the mocha kahlua pie (which they don t have at any of the edmonton earls) and it was so good! we sat on the patio and the flowers & plants gave such a great vibe :)

Food was below average for what one would expect from an Earls. Both pasta dishes lacked sufficient sauce and flavour, the five shrimp were not garlic sautéed, the chicken was dry, and only a few sprinkles of parmesan. The menu said my dish was to come with seasonal vegetables, but there were no vegetables on the plate other than a bit of chopped cooked spinach and too many chopped onions. Server was friendly, but should have noticed this error. Save your hard earned money, go elsewhere. You can honestly do better from Superstore. Beverages were decent.

Great place to stop for food if youre staying in red deer or passing through.

To start off, we tipped 25%, not because the service was great but because our server was willing to listen to our feedback when the bill came. We were greeted at the door and seated almost immediately on the patio at table 181. However, we waited 9 minutes before our server greeted us (should have been 30 seconds), introduced herself, and took our drink order. I ordered a Whiskey Sour and asked to upgrade my whiskey, but she didn t know which whiskeys they had. My wife ordered a glass of wine, and we also placed our orders for appetizers and entrees. Drinks arrived at the 22-minute mark (should have been 2 min), and we were told that the bar was behind and had gotten busy. I got up to check the ticket time on the bar receipt as it was quite a long time, and it seemed like this was more of a deflection than the actual cause of the delay. If drinks are served in stemware, they should be put on the table with the stem and not where your mouth goes. We started with the wings (10) for $19.99, which we found to be way too expensive for the portion size. On the other hand, the Calamari was amazing great flavor and a fantastic presentation. My wife had the Santa Fe, which was as delicious as always. Unfortunately, my Chili Chicken on rice came out so hot that I couldnt touch the plate, which was concerning as someone who has worked in the industry. It was clear that the dish had been sitting under the heat warmers for too long before the server brought it out. We also waited considerably long for our entrees. While the dish itself was delicious in flavour, I was disappointed to find a hair about 3/4 of the way through. Our server apologized and took it off the bill, which I wasn t expecting but appreciated since I had eaten most of it before finding the hair. When our food was delivered it was auctioned off as if they didn t know which seat numbers were what. Here s the kicker, we just had our second kid and haven t had a date in over 8 months. We were excited about the chance to get out and enjoy ourselves. We were going to a movie at 6:30pm and while we didn t let her know, in our opinion we had we didn t think we needed to as we had 1.5 hours to get out which is more than enough time. We got our bill at 6:35pm which was over the time as an average guest check. There was no questions being asked about what we were doing tonight, plans, etc. This is pretty standard question to initially engage with your table. My biggest pet peeve is that when you re paying for your bill and then all the sudden they have time to converse and find out about what s going on. Too late! Poor experience!

In our party of six, for a birthday occassion, the majority was overwhelmingly positive. The Spicy Tuna Sushi Tacos were incredible. Unfortunately, my Chicken Fettucini Alfredo was disappointing. No where near enough sauce and the chicken was also a bit dry (which wouldnt have been an issue had there been more sauce). I left the majority of my noodles. The garlic bread was excellent though.

We had a great experience here! Our food was amazing and served quickly. The server was very nice and helpful and the atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect for a date. We will be back during our next visit to Red Deer.

2024 - Mothers Day update 2024 - Earls in Red Deer is where I proposed to my wife, we had an amazing visit and still enjoy classy dates here. My favourite dinner is the dynamite rolls and always enjoy the taste. Today was no exception, got the dynamite rolls, the taste was spot on. I also got to enjoy a personal size pumpkin pie, man let me tell you, that was fantastic. The flavour was spot on, not too sweet, just right on the cream and the texture was a unique mix of cream cheese with pumpkin pie. Greatly appreciated. 2021 -Fantastic date nights, every time.

Had a nice date with my wife and 7 month baby. The restaurant was clean, fairly quiet, kid friendly. Our baby loved to look at the mirror ceiling and was perfectly entertained for the whole meal. We each had steaks. My wife had the steak and sushi, I had the surf and turf. Our perfectly rare-cooked steaks were choking hazards all the way through. It took real effort to cut, chew, and swallow every bite. The shrimp in my surf and turf was tastey, but overcooked and rubbery. The sushi in my wifes meal was, in fact, tempura shrimp rolls. Hardly worth calling steak and sushi. Also overcooked. Our server was mostly absent, with a slightly annoyed look on their face. The only flash of a smile that I saw was when I still gave a reasonable tip at the end of the meal. Then, she was gone faster than I could say thank you. For what I was thanking this server, and Earls restaurant for, I still do not know. Earl, your house is nice, but your food is terrible. Kid-friendliness: The mirrored ceiling is great entertainment for babies.

Great food great service

We made a phone reservation for a bridal shower. When we arrived they had no record of this reservation. That was frustrating and disappointing. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table for our party. Other than that....we really enjoyed ourselves. The service was great and the food was delicious!!! I had the clam Chowder and it was so very good!!!! We will all be back. Just a heads up about making a reservation by phone.....

We really had the best dinner tonight at Earls!! Thank you Sidney for making our evening so great. You are such a good server and so fun!!! The Avacado/Corn dip is yummy. Had the soup, salad and pan bread always a fav. Love all the vegetarian options they have now.

Service was impeccable, the food tastes quite good, but I was a little disappointed that amount of meat in ordered dishes was very scarce. It doesnt cost much to add a few more bites worth, but it would make it so much better. Especially at the prices were paying.

My friend and I went to the Red Deer Earls yesterday for lunch. It was very busy so thank goodness I had made reservations. This is the 3rd time I ve been in 2 months and the last. The food was gross each time. I had the ceaser salad yesterday and it was soggy and old tasting. My iced coffee drink was $13! I had soup, salad, and iced coffee; and we split the spinach dip and my bill was $54 BEFORE tip! Wayyy too expensive for such small portions. My friend hated her food as well. Our waitress was awful. She took over ten minutes to get my friends drink order. She never did a quality check for either the appies or the main course. She only had 4 tables in her section. Our waitress was rude and condescending and sooo slow ! I didn t get her name but she was brunette and had her hair tied back. My friend couldn t believe how awful the service was either. The only positives are that the decor at Earls Red Deer is modern and the young, female hostess was welcoming and friendly.

We werent aware that reservations are now accepted @earls so we had a bit of a longer wait than we are used to while customers who arrived after us were seated while we waited. Finally we were sat in the lounge which was just fine with us. We enjoyed a very pleasant meal and an enjoyable evening!

We had a fantastic server! The food was pretty good. The steak was a little underseasond, but the fries were really good. The restraunt was clean, and the ascetic was pleasing. Kid-friendliness: They have highchairs, and they were very accommodating for my 9 month old baby.

Absolutely loved everything about Earls. Had the clam chowder, salad and bread special for a late lunch and was totally impressed with the amount of very tender claims, the garden salad with focacca bread. Very very filling and super healthy. Looking fwd to my next luncheon.

Its worth the wait. I was given a $100 from my boss for Christmas, so my husband and I went for a date night. We made reservations, which Im so happy we did. It was a Friday night, the place was packed. We still waited 15mins flr a table, it was definitely worth it. I ordered one of the new items on the menu, Chicken parm risotto and I dont remember what my husband ate because he ate is so fast lol My meal was Phenomenal!!!!!!! I cant wait to go back. With the 2 meals, one alcoholic beverage each and dessert our bill was just over $100. I wouldnt really say this is a kid friendly as there was a very limited menu for kids.

Valentines Extravaganza

Came in for my grandma mothers 75th birthday and it was awesome. Our server was Skylar and she made us feel so welcomed and made her feel so special for her birthday! Was very impressed with the food and the overall atmosphere. Would definitely come back!

Earls has always been great. I ordered the Kung Poa with 3 peppers. Our meals arrived but they didnt do it with any peppers. Told the waitress she took away the meal and brought it back with 3 peppers on top. I said if need to infuse the peppers in oil and toss in tje noodles and vegetables. I asked her why it would be sent out that way. Then she asked if I wanted it remade fresh or with existing meal which by this time was cold. I asked for it fresh. I dont know if the chef is new or it was just that busy and he didnt want to fix his mistake properly. No one apologized for what they did which also surprised me. The meal was very good when I finally got it but at this point everyone was done eating

I love Earls and this visit was as good as the others. I had chicken tacos and they were delicious. The service was 2nd to none and I wish I had our servers name. Will always go back.

Meals were great, service good, had a reservation and after some of us arrived, we were told there was another reservation less than 2 hrs later and we were a table of 10. We were barely done when our waitress informed us we had 5 minutes before our time was up. There were 5 other tables empty right around us. No idea if they were reserved also, didnt ask. We left and met up elsewhere and continued our celebration.

Over $100 and we only had water to drink. Save your money and eat at home I guarantee it will be better. I have eaten here a couple times but this review is based off my take out order. Cost was roughly 80 dollars for two meals. The food was okay but I would have much rather spent a fraction of the price on groceries and cooking it myself. The chicken Tortellini was extremely greasy. If I do eat here again, I will skip that dish. There was also a line of people with one hostess walking each group to their tables. This isnt a bad thing, how ever there was no indication of where pick up was for the order so I waited in line for no reason.

Half my my steak was tough, tasted like no seasoning, and had inedible gristle. The pasta I had with it was ok but I expected a lot better of a steak for the price I paid. They also have a mirrored ceiling making it easy to see what other people are doing which made me very uncomfortable. Service was great though.

What a great Patio area. Nice plants, water feature, semi enclosed for wind and a roof for rain, comfortable chairs and great service. Waitress Sidney was super nice and sure knows the menu .. very nice person. We did Happy Hour and drink specials are super. Could use a few more food items on menu, but lettuce wraps and avocado dip with corn chips are both awesome. Highly recommend

This is a local favourite of mine. Ive been coming here for years and the food is always great and the service is excellent. Also, the local owners and management pour back into the community in many different ways. Cajun chicken with warm potato salad and coleslaw is simple and so delicious Also, lots of gluten free and vegan options.

We had a great experience as a family. Kids were welcomed, we had delicious food options and our server was very attentive. We will happily be back.

I went for dinner with a few close friends on Wednesday evening. Lindsey provided us with exceptional service! She was attentive and friendly. I will absolutely return.

I stopped by here for a drink one evening. The server, Mishayla, seemed skeptical of me upon viewing my ID (drivers license), which I thought was rude. Ive shown my drivers license many times and have never once had anyone else question it. She also wasnt friendly at all, would hardly look at me, didnt really check up much after that in case we wanted to order more. The drink itself was decent. It was a bit loud in there, and the servers (including ours) kept talking to ladies at a table near us who I think were also servers who were off work. I guess the place is okay, but the service kind of ruined it for me, so I guess it depends who you get if you decide to visit. My only regret is leaving a tip.

Excellent service and food

Service was really fantastic. Very quick and friendly. Meal came quickly. Place is spotless, you could eat off the floor. Parking was plentiful. Came here for a work lunch, but can see this would be a great date spot. Food was cooked perfectly and was flavourful. Really liked this place.

The serving staff were absolutely charming and accommodating. The food was tasty and the atmosphere was quite luxurious. My only comment would be that the music was a tad loud for easy conversation.

Good ol Earls!

Not sure what s going on in the kitchen at Earls. Well known recipes like the chicken tacos have changed snd not for the better. Ceasar salad was terrible and appeared to have been yesterday s salad served again? I am sad because Earls has always been a reliable and enjoyable restaurant. The meal that was served yesterday for our party of 5 was atrocious. Even the sangria lacked fruit (and taste). Too bad! Will have to find another restaurant that is reliable.

Something has changed at Earls Red Deer. Ordered from Dash. Have not had earls in a while but used love the Cajun Chicken sandwich and wings. Ordered that again. Wings were pathetically small. The Cajun Chicken Sandwich no longer has a ciabatta bun, despite the image on Dash showing a ciabatta bun. It came with a wonder bread style soft white burger bun which was soaked and mushy. I ended up just removing the bun and eating the chicken and veg. 20 bucks for that burger? Really?

They dont have blue cheese dressing , wth.

Gave out local earls a try after West edmonton was so bad, but we really wanted to see if they could redeem the last experience. Some things were definitely better in Red Deer. Like the atmosphere was very pleasant. The server was really great and kept a close eye on what we needed and was 5 stars for sure. My wife ordered the chicken appetizers and dynamite sushi. They were flavorful and spot on. I again attempted the 9oz alberta steak. The steak was a nice cut and spot on. The potatoes and asparagus were completely lacking in any flavor. But overall, it was a lovely date night, and i appreciated this dinner much more over other locations

Bought the Cajun chicken sandwhich. First off dont call it a sandwhich if your going to put it on a hand burger bun. Thats a chicken burger.... second the chicken was dry as my sex life. Third the server hated her life and was more monotone than my ex girlfriend. And it cost me 80 dollars for my wife and I to have a meal my toddler could of made in his pretend kitchen

OMG their Chicken Hunan Kung Pao noodles was so yummy! We requested to add more sauce and chilli since we like it spicy and it did not disappoint. They got the perfect mix of sourness, saltiness, and that kick you need. Usually you would leave the sauce but I asked for a spoon to scoop every single drop of it. I definitely recommend it. It s a comfort food for me!

I don t know if they re short staffs or what but it is after dinner rush already no waitress going to the table and takes too long for an order. My friend s ribeye requested for medium rare but She got rare bloody meat and the salad less dressing with not fresh romaine. We can t complain right away the waitress was too busy. Overall my complain is about the Kitchen they can do better serving food to customers.

Appetizer night for us, and so happy with that decision. Clam chowder, crispy chicken and wontons, sautéed prawns, dynamite rolls - all top shelf.

Great place not had a bad meal ever.

Excellent presentation but it was our anniversary. My husband ordered the vegetarian hamburger and was very pleased with taste.

Such a great atmosphere to enjoy happy hour with friends and a delicious bite to eat. Always welcoming and service is excellent. In the summer the patio is the best in town!

Service was awesome,but the steak was horrible...60$ for a steak that taste like a rubber boot..for the cut of steak 60$ is very expensive,and it had no flavor at all,taste like it was boiled. Worst steak Ive ever eaten,disappointing!!!

Was too busy to get in. Looked nice and staff was polite.

The food was amazing all around but the service was slow. Great but very slow.

Lots of staff with slow service, bar was dead and could see my beer waiting with plenty of staff capable of bringing it to me. I worked for earls for 3 years and expectations were much higher then this.

Our menus were dirty and my husband noticed that our server was very one note. We got gift cards and just wanted to try it out but I personally wouldn t recommend this location to others and that sucks cause I love the earls on Macleod in Calgary. Also the drinks are ridiculously priced. My ceaser which was 2 dollars off was still 10.25$ for one ounce. We will not be returning.

Was pleasantly surprised. Had a not so great experience here the first time. Which was almost a decade ago so was abit hesitant to come back. Sister and I just did an appy day and the sushi and chicken was really awesome . Waitress was nice. Good decor in here for Christmas. Thanks guys
