Rachel made one of the greatest classic cocktails Ive had in a long time. Ill definitely be back for more!

Had a reservation 5. At 6:05 waitress comes and says you have to leave the table in 20minutes. ??? Ok no one told us we had an hour and 1/2 to eat and go . Then another waitress/hostess comes and says you have to be out of this table in 15 minutes 10 min.then another waitress/ hostess comes and says you need to be gone from this table ..we didn t even have our bill yet .. asked for the manager Rachel to bring the bill please - She plopped it down and walked away. Sad for the people she manages. Such a rotten end to what could have been a good night.

We went in for the gfs bday ..ordered our food n when we got it itvwas cold. Advised waitress who was great and she ha them remade , when we got our food the main dish was hot but potatoes n veggies were still cold. She had a new order of mashed potatoes n broccoli brought out that were finally hot..if it wasnt for the waitress we may not have stayed.the cook needs to change how he makes food back there as if it happens again we wont be back again.i also do not feel the tips should be shared as the cook did not deserve any part of the tip I gave...our waitress Arianna was great.

The food was incredible!! And the presentation too. I highly recommend the starter ribs and blooming onion. For dessert the sticky toffee pudding was phenomenal. The staff were very attentive and the decor was unique. Would go again next time Im in red deer!

Our server Baelee was absolutely amazing. Very friendly, always smiling, very polite and personable. Wings were awesome too! Big and meaty wings! My son and I were very satisfied and will come back. It has been awhile since we were here, but we will definitely be back soon!

My husband and I stopped in for lunch on our way through Red Deer and enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food very much. I have a gluten and dairy intolerance and typically I have few options at restaurants, other than a salad. I had several options and ended up choosing the chicken satay bowl. It was delicious and satisfying. Will definitely be back.

Our regular go to. Mike is a stellar server, most professional and proficient server we ve ever had (he keeps us coming back) Your hostess today was absolutely charming, never underestimate how important it is to greet your guests properly; sets the tone for the entire dining experience. My only critique is the place is a little run down, some quick upgrades and proper cleaning would make you THE place to go in all of red deer and red deer county.

We have never eaten here before so im unsure if this a one off or they are really like this. This was a delivery order. We ordered the mushroom ravioli, i got 5 ravioli (regular size) topped with sauce and raw mushrooms ???? . It was listed under entre but im pretty sure it was a side.M y husband ordered a steak sandwich.. small handful of fries looked tossed in as an afterthought and no bread???? He really would have liked gravy but saw no option for it. My sons ordered beef tenderloin , so few veggies that I think it was actually a garnish lol . The food itself was quite good its too bad they took so little care in actually full filling the order .

I had been very excited to try this restaurant on recommendation of radio ads and word of mouth recommendations. My partner and I stopped in while driving through Red Deer, and decided to stop for a nice mid day meal. Firstly, the menu is extremely overwhelming. Multiple choices of dishes spread across different cuisine types (focusing on one type of food rather then many may ensure a better quality meal) Secondly, the food was extremely underwhelming. The fries were excessively overcooked (think day old Macdonald s) and cold. The burger was beyond flavourless, and my partners chicken sandwich was sliver thin. Thirdly, the service was excessively slow (it was not busy when we arrived) but our waitress wasn t even able to remember brining us water.

Huge menu, lots of tasty options. We will return and try more of them. Chicken Bellagio was so good.

Was one of the only places open after 10, didnt know what to expect, was awesome.

Rachel was wonderful. She was prompt attentive and the food was excellent. I had beef medallions and my husband had sirloin Oscar. We shared a beer salad to start and the house wine was wonderful. Terrific place if youre looking for attentive service and excellent food.

We went to the Granary in Red Deer last week for dinner. We both ordered steak dinners, i ordered mine medium rare however when my meal arrived it was well overdone for medium rare. We told our server and without hesitation it was immediately taken care of. They remade the whole meal and took it off our bill. It was handled with absolute professionalism. We love the Granary and go fairly often, they never disappoint in any aspect, service, atmosphere, and quality always wonderful.

Everything tasted so good, burger was awesome and it was only 15 bucks! You cant get a better burger at any restaurant in Rd for cheaper than that. Will definitely be back (Aug 2024 update; staff are still pretty good but Holy crap has the quality of food ever gone downhill, and the price is getting out of control, tried so many times this year to come back but every time was let down by overpriced not very good food. Sad to say I dont think Ill ever be coming back unless I hear its changed. Oh and the 15 dollar burger is long gone.)

Friendly vibe, staff seem happy, that tells me what I need to know. It was our first time and we will be back when in town next.

Had one night in red deer, was recommended this by our hotel. Ordered Street Fries. What a trainwreck. Menu description was twice cooked fries, cherry tomatoes,... Recieved soggy, literally wet fries and diced Roma tomatoes. House pickled veggies if that, came in a wet soggy, uniform clump on top. No quality check for 20+ minutes, and when we finally shared our feedback, the FIRST thing the server said was I know, they used to be better. Girl why did you bring them out then. Removed from bill but super disappointing from kitchen. Patio great.

Worst Service EVER. Completely ignored by first the hostess, then the waiter/bartender in the Lounge. We had to ask to be seated after standing in the foyer for 10 minutes, seated in the Lounge, the waiter walked past our table multiple times, waited on another table, made drinks while we sat there and waited. Finally left after 20 minutes. This was our 2nd experience here. The first time we sent food back three times as it was frozen in the middle. We will never ever go back again.

We arrived a bit late for our reservation, but despite how busy it was, the staff still managed to accommodate us, which we really appreciated. I also liked the presence of a hostess; it adds to the overall vibe the restaurant seems to be going for, which reminded me a bit of Earls or Cactus Club. Our server did her best given how busy the place was. We got our drinks and put in our requests without much delay, which was great. However, I do feel the food could use some improvement in terms of both portion size and flavor. I ordered a rice bowl for $23, and while the chicken breast was grilled perfectly, it felt a bit small maybe around 4oz and the whole dish was gone in less than three minutes. The rice and veggies were tasty, but the portion just wasn t enough. My wife s lettuce wraps had a decent serving size, but the flavor didn t really stand out. It wasn t bad, but not something I d recommend. Overall, I d give it a 4/5, but with a little work on the food, it could easily become a great go to place in Red Deer.

We had made a reservation, as we were celebrating our 47th wedding anniversary. Upon arrival the staff greeted us with warm wishes and was seated immediately. Our server, Jesse was exemplary. In no time drinks and food arrived after ordering. The food was delicious and highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.

The food was over cooked, service was good. The jalapeno drink was way to harsh. It was pretty expensive they took my girlfriends chicken back it looked like sand it was so over cooked. My steak was over done also. Wasnt bad but wasnt worth the money you pay for it to be honest

They charge $2 for gravy (tiny amount) but ketchup which is way more expensive to buy is free.

Food took a while to come out but if you re willing to wait a little bit the food is unbelievably AMAZING and our server Jessie brought a great atmosphere. Food was well priced especially in comparison to competitor pricing. This was our first time at the granary kitchen, and we ll be back. We were cheerfully greeted when we arrived, our table was ready for us, and there s a nice ambiance to the dining room. But the real highlight, that set this apart from many many restaurants we have gone to, was the awesome level of service from our server Michael. He should probably run his own serving school because he definitely would be one of the best servers we have ever had! He even warmed up my tea mug when giving me tea Honestly, this is high-level excellence! (way more great stuff but more than I should fill this review with) Go visit this restaurant just to have Michael! They were out of Prosecco for mimosas, but the alternate drink, the seabreeze that he recommended was given two thumbs up by the members of our table who had drinks! The food was really good, my chicken was probably a little dry and overcooked But that was the only Slight blemish on what was a wonderful lunch! Thanks for the great lunch, and the great service!

One of my go to spots in Red Deer, i almost always order their chicken madeira. Delicious, servers are very polite. The dining area is dimly lit which makes it more intimate to dine but i prefer it being just a little more light.

All Steaks in our large party were cooked perfectly. A seemingly impossible feat for some places. Thanks again.

We were in for dinner last night from out of town. There was a slight delay and mix-up with the hostess and our table. However, our waitress handled everything so professionally and kind. Food was excellent! Just passing thru Red Deer, stopped for supper. Sirloin Oscar with hogs breath potato and cesar salad. Hogs breath potato was excellent. Also had a Granary Sangria. Excellent!! Will definitely stop here again!

My husband and I had our wedding anniversary here, the food was delicious but there was lack of service. We had no drinks even though we had asked a few times. I want to give this place a shot, it s unfortunate the owner doesn t respond to negative reviews, only positive ones.

Completely ignored by the staff, waitress helps other gueats that arive after us multiple times first. Food arrives 1 hour and and 15 min after ordering. sat on the patio, waited for a waitress to come by and say hi to get the drink order. About 10 minutes goes by and another couple sit down. The waitress goes right over to them to take a food and drink order. We still havent been acknowledged. I go to the hostes station to ask if we have a server and she tells us that the waitress went to the wrong table and asks us if she can get us water. A different waitress comes over to take our order. Another couple sits down across from us about 45 minutes after we order. We are waiting on the food (salads and wings) and the new couple gets serverd their food while we are still waiting for ours and the other couple is about to pay. It was a mess. The waitress blamed it on the kitchen saying they have had problems for months now. Food is good. Service is terrible!

To start, we have been to this restaurant MANY times. But this visit, I feel duped and ripped off The waitress advised that they are going thru a menu change with their wines, so they only had a Pino Noir as a red wine option. My mistake was for not questioning the price! But I figured it would be about the same price as my usual glass ($12) Imagine my surprise when I saw the bill and my glass was $24. Our appie of wings was extremely dry. My chicken satay was 2 skewers (3 small chucks) of dry chicken with no sauce and about a cup of quinoa and other veggies ($24) Husband had casear salad. The salad was about small at 1.5 cups with 3 shrimp - total $27 Granary I am so disappointed. The quality, quality and cost of the meal tonight! I dont want to say NEVER, but I will seriously consider The Granary is not a good option in the future.

Was honestly quite disappointed in the food. We drove almost an hour to come here because we were a big fan of the spinach dip, but the bread was rock hard. Then we got a burger and tacos and the burger meat was falling off the sandwich like it was just ground beef, and my tacos were so soggy that the insides fell right through the bottom and I couldn t eat it. The server was sweet and apologetic (good service) and got me some new shells but they were dry and by that point we just wanted to leave. Will not be back again.

I was disappointed with the food for our party of six. I ordered the beet salad and there were 4 very thin slices of beet on the bottom of the bowl, and the serving, mostly greens, was more like a starter.

Due to unknown allergies that Im developing, the chef came out to see what he could make for me. I had fire grilled chicken breast on plain pasta. Simply the best Ive ever had at a restaurant lately. The chicken was so flavorful with only a little salt on it, and the pasta had just butter and salt. Some tomato and spinach on top and the real flavors were the star!

Never again. 44$ for a surf n turf, 10$ for pasta (tasted like mold) 21$ for a salad ... dont eat here if you appricate food.

Me and my siblings had Brunch here the other weekend. I was traveling from out of province. I had made a reservation under the guise that this was one of the more desirable brunch locations in Red Deer. Service was great, the place was clean and the atmosphere was nice. However the food was disappointing for all three of us. My brother got the Fluffy Pancakes Im not sure why theyre marketed as Fluffy. They came out pretty deflated. Boxed Pancakes have more fluff to them. My sister got an eggs Benny, just be warned that their Eggs Benedict are on top of cornbread (she new this), but she said that the cornbread turned to mush pretty quickly and it was off-putting. I got the French toast, and it was dry. Ive never had dry French toast, and there were no fresh fruit toppings. The strawberries were those mushy canned ones. The food was just disappointing esepcially considering 2 out of the three meals are meals that are difficult to mess up. Lunch and Dinner might be better... Staff was wonderful but I wouldnt come back for brunch.

Just had a date night with my wife and decided to hit up the Granary. It was super busy 7:15 pm on a Friday night. We were told 20-30 minute wait for a table . Waited in my car for 5 minutes and got a call from the staff saying our table was ready. Our waitress, Abby, was absolutely fabulous!! Extremely friendly, curtious, and knowledgeable about the menu. My steak was cooked PERFECTLY for my liking med-well. It was an absolute pleasure to be there. Great hiring job adding Abby to the team!

First time dining at Granery, food wasn t to bad but service wasn t great. Appetizers were cold before we got cutlery and napkins and same thing happen when we got our entrees. Surf and turf was $ 38.00 on the menu but I was charged $48.50. Not overly impressed!

Superb and staff.

Shared a late breakfast with friends at the Granary. Had chorizo skillet, cooked to perfection. Great service and the location was easy to get to from Calgary and our friends from the Edmonton area.

Went with a large group, some of us liked the food (salmon) and others didnt (very salty mashed potatoes and pink chicken)

Pre Mothers day dinner with my mom here tonight fabulous service and the food was excellent. Steaks were cooked perfectly, sides of glazed carrots and stuffed baked potato were incredible and even the little dishes of Caesar salad were spot on. Well done guys. We will be back for sure

Pros: food and drinks were excellent. Really enjoyed the burgers and their signature cocktails. Cons: they were short staffed so long waits and we technically didn t have a waiter the manager was doing tables and back of house and other things which was impressive. Overall great food but long waits due to internal problems. Not their fault but not mine either.

I ordered the fried chicken. The chicken was so overdone that I flaked off the coating. It was almost black. The cornbread was so dry it crumbled off my fork in pieces. By the time we got home I had to urgently visit the bathroom which is unusual. Not great night off for us. $75 for this?

Fantastic restaurant. Great food, amazing service from our waiter this morning, one of the best we ve had! He really knew the menu and made prompt suggestions based on our likes. Our only grievances is the restaurant is pretty grimy / dirty.

Looking for a nice lunch driving through Red Deer and we got the jackpot with The Granary Kitchen. All the food was excellent, with all of us enjoying the wings as a starter and my teenager claiming the Rig Up Burger was the best burger he s ever eaten. Great friendly service as well, we really enjoyed all of it. Highly recommended!

Why we waited to go here I dont know. Absolutely delicious. Onion bacon brie burger... Freaking ridiculously good. Service was fantastic. Only downfall was limited beer selection as they were out of 2 of the beers in tap. Ordered something else, still good. Forgot all about it with how damn good the food was. Definitely our new spot.

I am picky when it comes to eating out and my family gives me a hard time because I always complain to them.. The whole meal was excellent. The flavours were great the steak was so tender. It was a great meal! No complaints and will recommend the Granary to everyone!

One of the best places in Red Deer. We come here at least once a week and the staff are so welcoming and have the best recommendations. We can not rave enough! Some of our must try s are the sticky ribs, walnut salmon, Brie burger and mushroom ravioli.

Its a great red deer gem! Had the lobster bruschetta today and it was soooo good! Highly recommended! Kyla served us and she was so great with our kids and awesome suggestions. Very knowledgeable and friendly. My friend is celiac and they had a lot of options for her.

Went here for my birthday dinner with a group of friends. We went to value village before we came and chose horrible outfits for everyone to wear to this nice establishment. Our server was amazing! 11 of us and she didnt write one thing down. Put up with our chaos. Was great with the kids. I had the walnut salmon. Probably one of the best things Ive ever put in my mouth. And Ive had some good things in my mouth. Kid-friendliness: Server made sure kids food came out first.

3 of us for lunch. I had the delicious beet garden salad, my daughter had a bacon burger and my husband had wings. Fab food all the way around! Best thing ever though was the fantastic cheerful and lovely waitress Chelsea. Thank you for your great attentive service!!!

Excellent variety of food available.

The food was well presented and staff were very friendly. I probably wont be back for the reason that both of our meals were very salty. It was hard to get the flavor of the food through the salt. Just not for us.

Wouldn t recommend. Waited 45 minutes for 2 burgers. 25 minutes for the bill. Mediocre burger & service. Really disappointing.

Very disappointed today. I paid way to much for salad rolls, to get the smallest portion and it was just slapped together. One was completely apart. They were also missing advertised ingredients, One was wrapped fine. ( I know I should have gotten salads rolls from a proper place, but wanted to try this place) it was my first and last time ordering. Hoping it was just a bad day for the kitchen, even tho I ordered early enough to miss any rush.

The food was 4/5, but the service was horrible. The restaurant was almost empty, with plenty of staff, and we waited for the food for an hour. Hopefully this was just a one-off based off of the other good reviews, but it was a bad enough first impression that I doubt Ill be back. Also wasnt given anything to make up for the terrible service.

The steak was salty and even though it was cooked medium rare it came out dry. Drinks were good, service was decent.

Went for dinner. Got the country fried steak I think it was called. Waitress was great. Was able to make dinner reservations. Parking was crowded. Environment was great.

First off, the food was good and the staff was friendly, but it was only 2/3s full and took over 2 hours to get my food. I didn t say our food because some in our party didn t even get theirs. I m assuming no management was there otherwise they would have come out and apologized. So by the time I got my food I was much more hungry and didn t order enough, and definitely wasn t gonna order more and wait another 2 hours for something simple. My advice is go there and enjoy the food if it s quiet, if it is close to 2/3s full it s too much for them to handle. Go elsewhere at that point.

Great place to go for a meal and visit with friends and family. Sometimes I want to lick my plate....the food is so tasty, chicken madiera and sticky toffee pudding are my favorites!!

Took my wife out for New Years Eve Dinner. Ive been looking forward to spending some time together and having a nice meal. I hate posting a bad review for any business but We decided to reserve a spot at the Granary and try it out. Atmosphere was totally fine and was what youd expect from a popular restaurant. The servers were nice and attentive as well. The issue was with the food. I ordered the surf and turf. I had steak, shrimp, mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. The mixed vegetables were raw, the mashed potatoes were unbelievably salty, and the steak was terrible. It was undercooked, extremely salty as well and so chewy I could barely get it down. The shrimp were good but it was extremely disappointed with what I received. I wont go back.

Great food. Our waitress was Kara, amazing service and super friendly. Definitely will be back to this restaurant.

Had a wonderful breakfast here the other day and I must say the service was outstanding, Kara our server was amazing, made sure we were well taken care of.

Took my husband out for a birthday dinner. My steak was very bloody when I asked for medium well. Was fine the waitress took it back to the kitchen. It was disappointing.. by the time my food came back I didn t get to eat with my husband as he was done eating. Was offered 10% off the bill Definitely wasn t a great experience the first time. Not the best drink selection either small drinks with ridiculous prices. Won t be back.

Food was mostly processed. Who puts canned beans in nachos? For the prices charged, fresh ingredients would be nice. I guess we will have to wait for yet another management change to come back. Extremely disappointed. Server was very embarrassed and you will likely see her move to a real restaurant as her service was excellent.

Nashville sandwich was good but avoid the Beef Medallions, they were overly salty and the potatoes tasted wierd. Service was very good.

Best place to waste your extra money.

I had an awful experience here Saturday, which was handled very professionally by the manager and waitress. Went out with our family (6 of us) for a dinner before the rebels game. I ordered the tenderloin. Ordered medium rare, I got it and it was blue rare. I m not picky I would of ate a rare steak but I won t eat something that s cold in the middle. Sent it back, waited a good 20 mins everyone else finished their meals. And the second one comes out worse then the first one. This one is ice cold in the middle. So at this point I was pretty disgusted and sent it back again. We didn t have time to wait any longer for a 3rd try. The manager came over, took the meal off the bill and gave me a gift card as well. It was handled very well. I m pretty disappointed because I tried my fiancés fried chicken and it was some of the best I ve ever tasted. I settled for a rink dog and an ice cream at the game. I will be back to use up my gift card, but I won t be ordering a steak. I normally wouldn t of even taken the gift card because I would of never been back but the other food was amazing so I will give this place a second chance. Thank you to management for making a bad situation a lot better.

I hate to leave a negative review of a local independent business, but I was so excited to try this place based on the glowing reviews, and then I was so disappointed! The calamari was bland, even despite jalapeños with it, and the tzatziki dip was somehow watery and just tasted like cucumber. For a main I had the breaded-fried chicken thighs with garlic mash and vegetables. The chicken was completely overcooked and completely flavourless, the potatoes were grainy and bland, and the vegetables were just big chunks of undercooked, unseasoned carrot. The one thing I had that was actually very good was the Lettuce Wraps. They got that one on the nose. Other than that, the most flavourful thing I got was the pink pickled onion garnish. I won t be back, sadly.
