So went for lunch with my buddy. Just so you understand his account and review was the same. Im 52 he is 20 so big age difference I had a sushi and tempura box I was able to substitute and got a single extra piece of sweet egg sushi. He got 2 California rolls and a dynamite roll and couldnt eat the dynamite roll he was so full I didnt finish mine either but the miso soup was awesome the dynamite roll was absolutely perfect and tasty and the shrimp tempura was so fresh it was actually a little sweet like the meat is when handled properly. The salad was delicious and the spring rolls were amazing the hot stuff was hot like burn your mouth hot and the cold stuff was cold and it all was by far the best sushi Ive had this side of Vancouver. And the whole meal for me was 23 my bud was 28 bucks. Oh and the food came so fast I questioned her if it was pre-made which it clearly is not. Now let me tell you about Sandra the waitress. Possibly the nicest most considerate person Ive ever been served by. Not in a fake way she explained food answered questions was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and food sh3 spoke with a thick accent but very clearly and easy to understand and the menu is like 6 pages long they have everything. I wont eat sushi anywhere else in red deer ever again this was all in all the best sit down restaurant Ive ever eaten at and I would recommend it to the world. If you havent tried it your life is incomplete.

Once in awhile it all comes together. Honestly the service, the sushi combo, the atmosphere was quiet, the restaurant is clean, my single order was actually enough for 2 and the price was surprisingly lower than I expected ! I dont know anyone there, Im just giving an honest review of a restaurant that deserves to be recognized ...

Food was great. The service is better but not the best. Needs to pay attention to customers specially after giving them the foods to see if they need utensils or water. The atmosphere okay. Needs to modernize the place but who cares as long as they serve good clean foods.

Hadn t been here in a while and definitely will put it back into our restaurant rotation. Service was great, food was excellent. Miso soup was the best I ve had in a long time and the maki rolls were fresh and delicious.

Very, Meh. The portions are gigantic so much so that most of the rolls were falling apart because they were so big. All of sashimi was still partially frozen. Definitely tastes like they add sugar to the rice. Ordered a spider roll, it was not what we were expecting.

Perhaps the kitchen just had an off night, I don t know. Certainly not the best sushi in Red Deer, for our supper any way.

Really fresh sushi with a lot of flavour. Would like to know why the price of there rolls are so much money. Otherwise I think this is a great sushi restaurant. I would recommend trying this place out if near by. The sushi pizza is really good as well! Any of the maki rolls are also very good!

Sushi was good. Was not expecting to find a good sushi place in Red Deer. We practically had everything on the menu. Dinner set, lunch box, the Korean spicy charashi Don. I recommend Momo. Kids also loved the name.

This place is definitely a hidden gem in red deer! Hands down the best sushi I have had in a long time, service was spectacular and the mellow atmosphere and great food topped it off! I m sorry but all I can say is that I usually eat at Sushi Ta Ke and I just thought I d try something new because this place had good stars. However, I just purchased from Momo and it does not even compare in quality. $50 meal went in the garbage. You know when you get your take out food and you re so excited? But then you take a bite and start to realize something is off. Like what is wrong with this? You try to like it because you waited for it and paid extra for delivery. Then you start to say ew why does it look like this and ew why does it taste like this? And then completely lose your appetite. That s what just happened. Maybe I wouldn t have realized that it was so bad if I hadn t of experienced Sushi Ta Ke and had no sense of taste but unfortunately I did and I do. Not fresh, horrible taste and not to be dramatic but I have a feeling I m going to get sick from it. Rolls fell apart and wasabi was horseradish(which i have learned is just a cheap way to make wasabi)!? And the mango was not fresh but thawed frozen mango mushy wet and slimy. Gyoza, rolls, and wasabi are fresh, tasty and consistent at Sushi Ta Ke. Already feel my stomach turning, just so disappointed to waste money like that.

I can t say anything about the atmosphere as I ordered from skip but the food was amazing delicious, fresh fast and formidable. Really competitive prices for some bomb products I can t say enough how awesome this place is. I m proud that this establishment is part of our neighbourhood .

The quality of food at Momo Sushi has definitely come down from 3 to 4 years ago. It used to be the best Japanese restaurant in Red Deer but now it is only subpar to mediocre at most. Me and my friend went there for supper yesterday. I ordered the Dragon Roll and Prawn tempura. All I could say was nothing stuck out when it came to the presentation, and taste. The once flaky and crispy battered prawn tempura that i remembered from 4 years ago is now replaced by prawn tempura that looks like it was bought frozen from Walmart. I used to remember eating ever little cripy bits of the fried tempura batter on the server basket but not anymore because they cook it differently now. It looks like they just dip it in batter and fry it like it didnt cost $16.99. I used to get the Spider Roll years ago. I stopped ordering it cause the quality of it had tremendous come down. It wasnt the same as before. I instead ordered the Dragon Roll and just like everything else it was mediocre. Nothing in its presentation and taste was memorable. Yesterday will be the last time that Id go to Momo Sushi. There are other Japanese restaurant in Red Deer that are more memorable when it comes to the atmosphere, food presentation, and taste of the Japanese food; Momo Sushi is no longer that place. And for godsakes replace the damaged chairs with cushions in them cause it wasnt comfortable sitting on them the entire dinner.

A small out of the way restaurant with fantastic Japanese food ! I ve had many types of their sushi & it s been sooo good ! Last round I had the seafood yakisoba , super good but I wish they would have used the larger round noodles. I ll be back - Decent prices too ! Just my two bits

My go-to Japanese restaurant in Alberta

I business partner asked me out for Lunch the other day, and he suggested Momo Sushi. I said that I had never tried Sushi but now would be a good time to try some. The view from the restaurant is spectacular over looking the city, at night would even be better. The place is very clean and modern, I guess I expected a fishy smell, but that was not the case. This is a first class establishment, and I am very glad I was open to trying something new..

Best sushi in Red Deer.

The whole experience was sub-par. When we arrived we were the only people in the restaurant. We were seated quickly and brought water right away, and then we waited, waited, and waited, almost 20 minutes All of a sudden miso soup was brought out to us (that we didnt order) and they cleared away our menus. We told them we hadnt ordered. They seemed surprised and then had to go get someone else to take the order. The food did arrive fairly quickly after that, thankfully. But, again, total disappointment. The rice tasted off and was almost crunchy. My sons basic Cali roll tasted almost identical to a more intricate and expensive roll. We found the prices ridiculously high for a lot of the items. We eat sushi often and have a good idea of an average price. All in all, very disappointing and we will not be returning.

Local haunt of ours that has never disappointed us. Food is always amazing, service is perfect, atmosphere is comfortable and we can hear ourselves talk, unlike some places that blast the music or shows in the background. Weve been going for 4 years and are happy to support them! Only thing is I wish they had deserts more readily available sometimes, because they too look amazing.

Some of the best sushi we have had here since moving from Vancouver! Highly recommend the caterpillar roll if you love avocado!

I can get that sushi can be expensive though. Their food is usually on point for quality but their prices have gone up quite a bit from the last time I went. I did take out another time and it was a long wait even though the restaurant did look busy. After they renovated their restaurant we ordered supper. We have been there before and have to say theirs is the best and most reasonably priced food in Red Deer. Highly recommended

My family wanted sushi for supper so we went back to Momo Sushi. Let me say that Momo is the best Sushi place in Red Deer and is reasonably priced. You can either eat in or take out. Highly recommended for either lunch or dinner and good for groups. Parking is a bit tight given it s proximity to the Red Deer Court House and Remand center so patience is a must. Had takeout over lunch. Great food though they use styrofoam and that is a concern. Wished they would find a different material to package their take out.

Theyve increased the prices. Not busy on a Wed night- wing night elsewhere I suppose. 4 yam tempura- $7.99- little pricy. That being said, the tuna and salmon sashimi combo I had was very good. The portions were generous and the density/taste of tuna was excellent. Server was great with my son, and make some modified chop sticks so he could try it. Want to go back and try the Spicy R Combo.

Not good for kids, unless your kids already like sushi. Staff would not accommodate a simple rice and chicken teriyaki. Not great service either, our glasses were not filled once. Yes it is cozy, though our chairs had rips in the fabric, not sure why they would leave it like that. Quite pricey imo.

Embarrassed to say it has taken me this long to visit Momo. Fantastic food. We had multiple kinds of Maki Rolls and Beef Yakisoba and maybe the best of all, the Sushi Pizza. Excited to go back soon for more!
