Better Bee Cooking in Red Deer

Im here eating the Red Curry and coconut rice right now. This place is great. If you enjoy Thai food, this is a great option in Red Deer. Its not fancy but its very clean and comfortable. Ill return...lots!

Coconut soup FTW!

take out order- friendly staff and good portion size but unfortunately it was very bland..only had 3 little shrimp in the entire pad Thai..was just alot of plain noodles with hardly anything else.

I was so excited to try authentic Thai and as a foodie from VANCOUVER B.C., I am so disappointed. The taste was not authentic but I think they dialed it down and made up their own recipe for white folk. Im Chinese btw so i can handle the stinky soups and weird food/spice.... the papaya salad tasted so sweet as if they used the dipping sauce for cold shrimp as a dressing and the Tom kha was watery, tasted nothing like coconut base... tasted like drinking watered down ketchup. The pad thai was terrible and spring rolls were chewy and tough.. green curry was watery as well. For better food in this sad city, rueon thai is better surprisingly. I am so so disappointed that I wasted my day off to eat here. SERVICE was great though.

Best Tom Yam in Red Deer for its price!

We ordered tom yum soup and it was TOO SWEET. More like a dessert filled with onions, tomato, and 3 pcs of overcooked bland shrimp. DO NOT BE DECEIVED with the description AUTHENTIC , it was a disappointing experience for my family and guaranteed our First and last!

Tom-yum? Try Tom-yuk! Just not that good. Food was satisfactory at best. Curry was watery. Peanut satay saved this place from a worse review. I was hoping for good Thai in red deer...but another dud! Bummer Bee.

We had a wonderful meal.The food was very flavorful. Service was great and very helpful. We eat gluten free and so many things on the menu can be prepared that way. Will definitely be eating here lots.

I really dont like to leave poor reviews. We were planning on eating next door but love Thai food so stopped came to Better Bee instead. The restaurant was clean and bright and the service was good. Like a previous reviewer, I found both the Tom Yum and the PAD Thai SUPER sweet. It was so sugary, I could only eat a little of the Pad Thai. I am not sure why the food was so sweet as if it wasnt like that, we would have enjoyed our meal.

Parking: Great parking in the strip mall. Good access off of gatze and 71 !! Highly recommend it Kid-friendliness: The service was very friendly and caring. The food was WOW. Amazing flavours. I enjoy it so much I ordered another one to go for my lunch the next day at work !! I had the Green curry with beef and prawns with an order of rice. The vegetables just crisp enough to know they are all fresh and the bamboo shoots added just the perfect combination !! Wow. The flavour is amazing and I still am enjoying the flavours in my mouth an hour after. Mmmmmm. I very very highly recommend this place. I will definitely be going back and bring all my friends there. Real skimpy on the protein. Ordered shrimp Pad Thai and received 6 small shrimps. Overall not bad just not great either.

I found a new definition of Tom Yum Soup here today. Its like drinking tomato juice and as someone else mentioned earlier, I saw three shrimps in Tom Yum Soup. I ordered Green Curry too, and I thought this was a vegetarian restaurant. There were two chunks of chicken. I shouldve just gone to Marys chicken and bought a chicken burger It was such a waste of money. I only ate shrimp in Tom Yum soup That was torture for me. Vegetarian options: I think all the menus are vegetarian. Theres no meat any food

My new favorite Thai restaurant!!!! Plates and cutlery were spotless, restaurant was beautifully decorated. And the food!!! I had red curry with chicken which was chock full of vegetables. No scrimping on portions here!! My bf had the seafood madness! He said it was fresh and very tasty. The service was quick and very polite and professional. You have to visit this place. We will definitely be back.

A close friend introduced us to Better Bee Cooking in March/22. We absolutely loved the flavour, the presentation, the customer service and how spotless everything was. We have made reservations to take clients there again - for the 5th time! Bee is passionate about her cooking skills and presenting her family recipes with pride. Red Deer is so very lucky to have such a wonderful Thai food restaurant. Would recommend dine-in for the full ambiance. But the take-out service is also top notch, just not as authentic... well at my house, any how ;)

First time going here with my wife. We love Thai food and we celebrated our anniversary and dine in. Very clean nice simple decore. Food was Fantastic nice level of spice and heat in dishes. We enjoyed 3 different dishes yellow curry,chicken satay sauce a comp was delicious, pork pad thai. Portions were a good size and good value for money. I am look forward to coming back. Thank you

Tried several different dishes over time. It seems to be getting better and better. Some unique dishes not seen at other Thai restaurants. Excellent flavors. Todays dish was out of this world. Good service. Family run and trying hard. Good portions. I think they are going with the bee theme but they could work on the ambience a bit. Very clean nonetheless.

Best pad Thai and spring rolls I ve had in red deer, by far. Both dishes are spiced perfectly. Generous portions, I ll have 2 meals out of this. Would highly recommend!

Amazing authentic Thai food prepared to perfection

If you like spicy Thai cuisine youre gonna have a foodgasm after dining here. Without a doubt this marvelous chef and her staff are the best thing to happen to Red Deers restaurant scene in a loooong while. In addition to the stunning flavours, generous portions, and the fresh high quality ingredients of the varied menu, the restaurant is fresh, bright, and sparkling clean. GIANT kudos to the proprietors of this establishment.

There is too much sugar in all the food there. It feels like I am drinking a whole bottle of syrup. Khao Man Gai, Khao Moo Dang - all the sauces they provided have a lot of sugar. I ordered Som Tam, explicitly putting in the note No Sugar and not sweet, but it ended up opposite what I requested. The food here is unhealthy if they continue overusing sugar in their food, and I might get diabetes if I continue having the food here. If you like sweet flavor, this place is for you, but if you are concerned about your health in the long term, I dont think this is the place to eat. I will come back if they are willing to change, but I will go somewhere else for now.

Ordered on uber eats and the food tastes great, but it s REALLY spicy. The pad thai could go with 50% spice level. Overall the food is good and portions are reasonable. I wish the curry-type dishes came with a side of rice though.

The best Thai food in town! We re in love with those vegetable spring rolls and sauce! Clean, cozy, warm little place. Friendly and professional customer service. The owner does and excellent job and we much appreciate having such a wonderful little restaurant in town!

What an exceptional service and a wonderful host Ms. Bee is. She personally came, recommended dishes and spice levels. Food was amazing, generous and delicious. We finished all the dishes and was treated to a dessert on the house in the end. This was a complete surprise and shows you how well someone cares about serving food to you. Always humbled and amazed by Thai culture and the people, and this is one of the perfect places to experience it.
