This is the best Thai place in Alberta. We drive three hours just to come. The food is absolutely delicious, fresh, authentic & cooked perfectly! Don't hesitate, just go!!
I ordered through Skip. My husband and I love Thailand and Thai food. This is the closest to authentic that we have ever had outside of Thailand. The Pananag curry, Tom Yum Goong, coconut rice, and shrimp summer rolls were delicious! Perfect amount of heat and spice. The only thing that we would change would be the peanut sauce for the summer rolls as it was as thick as peanut butter and tasted just like it as well. It is a small detail that did not detract from how amazing the rest of the food was! If you want authentic and delicious Thai food, I highly recommend that you go to Rueon!
We have been eating here for 10 years, and we can't wait to return. Food is fresh, service is prompt, owner is friendly and ready to give top customer service. My son needs a gluten-free menu, and always chooses Rue On first. Best peanut sauce any where!
I was in from out of town and really looking forward to some good Thai food in my hotel room after driving 1000 miles in one day. I ordered the Pad see ew, which is supposed to have a flavorful soy based sauce on it. When I got back to the room and opened it, it was completely dry with zero sauce on it. I thought maybe they put the sauce on the side but could not find any. It was inedible and I had to throw it away. I called a few times to see if they wanted to refund my money but they are not answering or returning my calls. Out of principle, I will be calling the bank to cancel the transaction. I see many 5 star reviews so I cannot argue that many people have great experiences here. And maybe they just made a mistake that night and forgot the sauce. But their non dealing with it and demonstrating the spirit of not making it right has me give this review and get my money back from the bank. Good luck if you eat here.
I have spent 30 $ for chicken fried rice and beef with broccoli. I was told by the Caucasian man at the front that it would be more than enough for 1 person, but it is not the case. Picture added. When I called the restaurant to inform the manager she was very rude and hung up the phone. They are theif.
Came here for our 32-year anniversary. The service was great, very friendly. Food came quickly and was amazing. The flavor and texture were out of this world. The owner was our server, and he showed pride in his business. I am looking forward to coming back soon. Both my wife and I even had food to take home.

The food tasted great, but the $15 lemongrass beef with vegetables was a bit misleading. Instead of a substantial beef dish with veggies, I received mostly vegetables with only nine thin slices of beef. Additionally, their menu's distinction between vegetable spring rolls and just "spring rolls" led me to believe the latter might contain meat, but it was indistinguishable until I used my camera flash to take the photo for this review. Despite the tasty food, the discrepancy between the description and what was delivered left me feeling unhappy about my order.

Always come here to eat. Tonight I was flabbergasted, 1.5 hrs before close came to eat and was met at the door by owner who was abruptly rude not taking tables ..shaking his head pissed at the world.. I get people have bad days but there was like 4 tables.. will never come back!! Went to Blue Dragon instead, they close at same time and had a full restaurant and were happy to see us . Blue Dragon for the win!

This place is an example of a hole in the wall place with great Thai food. It was busy when we arrived for lunch. There are loads of options . I had a vegetarian dish that was perfectly cooked with green beans and tofu. The green tea was lovely too. If you re in red deer this is the place to Visit

Hadn t had Thai for a bit and was craving some. The meal was fabulous. Cooked perfect, I felt it has even improved since last time.
A week ago, a friend and I stopped in for lunch and a visit!! Great food and atmosphere, my friend knew our server Jordan by first name, and asked Jordan to order his regular. Jordan knew exactly what it was and in a timely fashion, we were eating a delicious meal! Thanks very much!

Jordan and his team are so passionate about their restaurant and ensure that every meal is top notch with high quality service to match. If you re a Red Deerian, or someone passing through, Rueon is a MUST try.

I m not a fan of thai food, but this restaurant is great. Building is a little old but whenever I order lunch for takeout dining seems super full! Customer service is good, portions are big too relative to prices. Check their lunch specials before you order. My recommendation for you is #22 (it s not spicy - called pad pak, don t repeat my mistake: order some side of rice). Also shrimp salad rolls, yummm

Went out for dinner tonight with my family and was unexpectedly blown away by my experience at Rueon Thai Restaurant in Red Deer. The owner, Jordan, was exceptional. Relaxed, friendly, and personable in a laid back, effortless kind of way. I immediately was struck by how he cared for each and every guest who entered the restaurant, whether for dine in or take out. He made delicious food recommendations when I inquired as to what I should order, and I would easily order the same dish again (#27 with coconut rice...) Not only was Jordan extremely personable, and his service quick and attentive, the food was spectacular. Hot, delicious, flavourful, and great value (generous portions of meat). One experience and that was all I needed to make me a regular customer at this local treasure.
Great service, I ordered Tom Yum Goong & it was delectable. The service was very friendly, and although I arrived during a holiday, i was not given the impression I was imposing. They were happy to have me and happy to make me a great bowl of soup.

Both of my children are celiac and have eaten here many times with no issue. Very helpful with what to order to not upset their stomachs. Waiter is also kind to us, and the food is always great.

Absolutely amazing food, I usually get the same thing Wich is a mild curry dish with pork, but did try my boyfriends as well as he ordered a variety. Cannot complain about anything at all. Very fast friendly and efficient. The food is honestly to die for, surprising from such a small little place. A hidden gem.

Im not kidding.... I cannot express enough how good the food, atmosphere and service was last Sunday night (July 15, 2023) when my friend and I was driving back to Edmonton from Calgary... we stopped at 7:00 p.m. and had the most delicious Thai food that I have ever eaten all fresh ingredients and you could tell that the people making the food really love the work that they do and loved being able to serve it to their clientele.... it was so good that I would drive from Edmonton to Red Deer and spend 30 bucks in gas just to eat there again.... my friend was getting hangry and I was just nervous that she was going to rear end a transport because she hadnt had anything to eat since 11:00 a.m. so I looked up a Thai restaurant....and found this one.... we had to maneuver around a roundabout which I hate doing but did it anyway to get to this restaurant.....it was sooooooo good.... the owner was personable and he came over to the table a couple of times to ask us how we were doing and I told him that it was the best Thai food Ive ever eaten he had a great big smile and then asked us about our day... I have not had such a positive experience in a very long time ....kudos to Rueon Thai restaurant....

Ordered 3 salad rolls and 4 chicken skewers, the salad rolls are just stuffed with lots of rice, peanut sauce didn t help. The chicken skewers are dry and honestly started causing restrictions to my airways after my first bite. Definitely not a great experience, really just feel like I just wasted my money for this food.

This place is the best. Fantastic thai food and thai curries in town. Spicy tom yum soup is my go to, and banana dessert serves up the biggest scoop in town. Lovely local family with a lovely establishment, awesome place to have lunch. The manager/owner is really friendly.
The food was great but it wasnt a very relaxing experience. My main cause came before Id finished my starter and I was thinking of having a sweet but before I had chance to ask the check and the payment machine was on my table. It all felt very rushed.

23. Pad Tao Hoo Gaprau was great. While I do not know which is authentic, to me 41. Pad Thai was average. Service seemed a bit slow because of a number of take out orders - direct from customers and from other apps.

This place is a hidden gem. Friendly and efficient service. The food is very fresh and comes out very quickly. You can choose how hot you like your curries and the extra chilli is really worth it. Both curries we ordered came with a really good amount of vegetables, which I love, not just noodles and sauce. The green curry was my favourite and they make a mean vegie spring roll too.
We like Thai an hands down this is the best Thai in Red Deer. Prices are fair for the amazing food quality and flavors.
Very impressed with the friendly warm hospitable greetings bestowed upon all customer s fortunate to enter this dining establishment. Today I consumed the very best stirfry I have ever had, and all because I had requested that Jordan please advise which one he would recommend that was the least sweet in overall flavour. It was truly exceptional. I also am always amazed how keen his memory is, and the details he recalls! Can t wait to go back to order that same stirfry!
I really wanted to like it. I ordered here because it was supposed ton e celiac friendly. No reactions so far. But the fried rice was greasy and the sticky rice was so sticky that it was as hard as a rock and inedible. I wish I had the experience all these all other people had

Some of the mildest tasting Pad See Ew Ive ever had from a restaurant. It wasnt broad noodles, was pale in colour and didnt have Chinese broccoli but rather cauliflower. Had to doctor it up by making my own sauce. Massaman curry tasted more like yellow curry. No hint of cinnamon or sweetness. Easily fixed by adding cinnamon. It was a great price.

My sister and I stopped in for lunch while in Red Deer, and really enjoyed the restaurant. We were greeted warmly as we walked in, which is always nice. We ordered from the lunch menu, which is nicely priced. I asked for extra spicy with my pad Thai and was really happy with it. Highly recommended.

Weve ordered Thai food from here many times and havent rated, but this place is a wow. Excellent and authentic Thai food, best weve had since we actually went to Thailand. And the owner/manager at the front (Jordan I think his name is) is always friendly and welcoming, quick and efficient. Couldnt recommend this place enough!

Delicious food and really friendly service. The coconut rice is great - we always end up taking away leftovers because all of their sauces are so delicious, so I make sure to ask for an order of coconut rice to go when they are boxing everything up.

Stopped here on our way back from Edmonton. Was pleasantly surprised by the service and food quality. We got the pad thai and the yellow curry. Priced very well! It was truly delicious. We are going to make this place a tradition for when we come up to Edmonton from Lethbridge!

The Tom Yum Going was one of the best Ive had in years price was $12.99 it may not have been the largest portion compared to other locations but what it lacked in size was made up in unreal flavor also has the salad rolls very taste medium size price was $8.99 approximately for 4 rolls so average price ... I would recommend the soup very very good

I ordered from Rueon for the 1st time since moving here 4 years ago. I can honestly say that, having eaten from many Thai restaurants, this is without a doubt the best Thai Ive ever had the pleasure of eating. The curry was spiced perfectly and you could tell that the ingredients were fresh. The shrimp hot and sour soup had a well balanced broth and the freshness of ingredients was also immediately apparent. Portions were huge! I cannot say enough good. Highly recommend!

Not good! Salad rolls just a bunch of noodles, peanut sauce was rancid. One meal smelled like cleaner and tasted the same. The other was so sweet someone obviously dumped the sugar bowl. Waste of money.
