Hotel Saskatchewan, 2125 Victoria Ave, Regina, SK S4P 0S3, Canada
While it is a nice spot i sat there for over an hour after getting a menu and was never approached about my order. The bar staff were away from the bar more than it in I could have got up and left without paying for my drink and they wouldn't have known. I will never come here again. The bar wasn't even busy, it was me and 3 other guys. After an hour 3 ladies came in and had their order taken right away. I was stared at and ignored.
Food was great, and the place itself is good. However, the waiter badly messed up our bills and it took over half an hour to get my drink, I suspect he simply forgot about my order so I had to remind him. It was not a great place for a big group of people, at least from our experience.
Overall, the food tastes good. We ordered two burgers, and both were delicious. The fries were very crispy. We stayed at this hotel and ordered cocktails in the evening. The prices are reasonable, and the taste is good.
Great historical place with lots of charm. Nice place for dinner but if you like cocktails you have to try their Smoked Old Fashioned, it’s quite remarkable with great presentation. Recommended if you would like to experience the feel and ambiance of the 30s and 40s at this historical place.
We arrived at the hotel late and were pleasantly surprised by the meal that we ordered. The flatbread pizza was delicious and my daughter enjoyed her steak.
Celebrated the NYE at circa 27. Great ambience, food was okay. Steak was a bit chewy, ravioli was delicious. Service was good. Loved my drink high violet. Overall good experience.
We haven't been to Circa for a while, so we decided to stop in for a few cocktails on a Friday night. I wanted to see the holiday decorations and everything was beautiful! The lounge was busy with a nice atmosphere. We sat at the bar as we usually do. The bartender was pleasant, and my cocktails were good. We ordered the duck flatbread, which was very tasty, and the ricotta and mushroom dip. The dip needed more seasoning, and the chunky mushrooms didn't quit work for us. Overall, we had a lovely evening!
The food was STELLAR but the service was not. The room was very busy and loud which my group and I were surprised by considering it was a Monday night. We had to seat ourselves by pushing two small tables together and our waiter was totally inattentive to us during our visit. He didn’t converse with us much, never came by to check in and ask us how things were tasting, he disappeared for long periods of time and we had to ask other passing waitstaff for necessities like cream for coffee, more water ect. Kinda shocked since the one other time I’ve been here the waitress was fantastic - super kind and very prompt. The food is so good I’ll order here again but likely won’t sit in.
Good food and atmosphere, when I was there in the day, but the waiter was not to attentive and he didn t tell me my steak and fries was $60! because it was out of season.
excellent lunch
Love to go for lunch meetings, food is always delicious. Service is very friendly. Great for a cocktail in the evening as well.
Definitely a great perk to staying at Hotel Saskatchewan. I have been dining here while staying at the hotelon two weeks. Greek omelet is fabulous, wings, burger and flatbread good too. Definitely noticeably better than I have experienced while dining at other restaurants while in Regina. Compliments to the chef and staff who overall go above and beyond to graciously accommodate my special requests.
Delicious breakfast in a gorgeous space. Background music wasnt blaring for a welcome change and Michael was excellent, very attentive and professional. Vegetarian options: Plenty. Parking: Theres a parking lot for bigger occasions and if youre just going for breakfast on a Sunday, you should be able to park right in front for free. Wheelchair accessibility: Theres an elevator at the back entrance.
Thank you, Joanna and Vlady. Food and service are the best!
Had a fantastic evening at the bar, enjoyed a few great mixed drinks and had some good conversation about mixology with the bartender.
Delicious brunch, perfect balance of protein and carbs, excellent service!
Great atmosphere. The food is always good, and you dont have to yell over the music. Perfect for a quiet and classy hangout with friends.
My husbands chicken wings were delicious. My steak frites were not. The steak was so hard to cut even with a steak knife. I ordered an Grey Goose dry martina with olives. I got a martina that was dirty. I sent it back. I got a new one and it was totally watered down. I watched the bartender and he was so mad that he had to make me a new one. It did not taste like Grey Goose vodka at all. It s a really nice venue. Too bad that the food and bartenders are mediocre
Circa 27 is a beautiful restaurant. My husband and I had our anniversary dinner there. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. Food
We went to this place for NYE. Absolutely loved the environment. It was quite busy yet we got a very good service. Food was good too.
If you dont try a Smoked Old Fashioned, youre missing out. Great atmosphere.
I am not the kind to leave a bad review usually, and always give the benefit of doubt. But the experience at Circa 27 has left us with bad taste. My dear friend and I recently went for dinner at Circa 27, Hotel Saskatchewan, at the start of January 2024. We are more quiet types, so this was our way to welcome in 2024 instead of partying. We had made reservations for Wednesday late evening. When we arrived and were seated, we noticed that there were two servers that night and just four or five tables that had patrons and by the time our main course arrived, a group at another table had left. Once seated, we were never offered any water. Is that a trend now? This is the first time in Regina we experienced this. We ordered drinks, orange juice (because one of us doesnt drink) and something else. We ordered Salad ( that we shared) and our main course. Close to the end of our meal, I requested some water. It came after some time, and we noticed that the server just rinsed a glass under tap water and filled it with tap water and brought it to our table holding in her hand ( no tray!). The glass of water that she brought was still wet and dripping (with water) from outside and the water inside was completely hazy! I never drank that water. Later we ordered dessert and my friend also ordered tea. We ate our desserts and the server came to ask if we were ready to pay. She never brought the tea that my friend had ordered. It seemed the server had never bothered to bring a pen and notepad to write down any of our orders and relied simply on her (failing) memory. She brought the card machine and we paid (of course, she wasnt getting a good tip after all this) and my friend noticed that she just threw the restaurant bill and the credit card receipt on our table, never asking if we needed a receipt or bothering to be courteous enough to handover the receipt to me. This is the first time a server has thrown a receipt and bill on the table and just left. Now we feel that she really didnt deserve any tip. The whole experience of eating at Circa 27 was not what we had expected. We have been wondering whether this reflected the standard for such a restaurant. With the kind of patrons who likely frequent this place, it became clear that this was not the standard behaviour ( because such a behaviour if she did all the time with the other patrons, would be immediately complained about and taken care of). It didnt take us long to realize that she was specifically being mean to us. Her behaviour did not match the name or standard one expects for such a Marriott group hotel, and undermined the efforts of all other staff e.g. the chef who prepared our food that day. Also, we do not know if that is the dress code for staff at the Hotel, but do not wear black shirt and jeans there ( thank god we didnt), otherwise you will look like one of the servers at Circa 27. Sadly, whenever we will discuss this restaurant, we will talk about our visit there and this server and her behaviour towards us. Next time we decide to eat out or someone asks our recommendation - Circa 27 wont be our choice.
We had a great time! The food and atmosphere were excellent.
Had a nice dinner here. The mock tails were on the expensive side, but overall the food was really good.
Drinks are great but pricey, nice food selection & service with a smile.
Menu is small but the food and service are great. Atmosphere is what you would expect from a high end former CP Rail Hotel. Very elegant. Next time I go I will have a Smoked old fashioned quite the show fun!
Love this place! Amazing food and drinks, great service, fancy atmosphere. My favourites are the iced cappuccino and avocado toastie
Great experience. Delicious food. Great drinks. Try the smoked old fashioned. Nice ambiance. Nearby parking. Server went above and beyond.
Our server had great recommendations and was friendly and attentive without being pushy!
Decided to eat here as we were staying at the hotel for our wedding night and we were not disappointed! We had their brunch menu and got the brunch charcuterie board, it was more than enough food for the two of us and was the most delicious meal we ve ever had! The pastries they served before our meal might have been the best I ve ever had and I would spend anything to take a box of them home. My husband and I talked about it the entire day afterwards. Everything was so delicious and elegant. The service was also wonderful, I believe our servers name was Justin and he was terrific. Very attentive and quick also knowledgeable about the menu. The menu is quite small but they have some great options including some gluten free options.
Went in for lunch today, had the espresso martini and the club sandwich. The martini was delicious, however, the grilled chicken on my club sandwich was cold.
Went for my birthday good pork chop
Dinner on an overnight stay. Steak Frites. Steak was exceptionally bitter due to dry char (ie burnt) from grill. Fries were excellent. Red wine was warm. Not near the quality that is expected from such an iconic location and the price. Understand inflation, but that doesn t excuse the cooking techniques for the centerpiece of the meal. Staff and service were very good and ambiance great.
I ve eaten here a few time; the drinks are great, the food is hit & miss. The truffle ravioli tastes nothing like truffle and is way too creamy (never thought I would say this!) but it s completely flavourless and gave me a stomach ache. It s always busy so the atmosphere is great. Food
bad service, when I enjoyed my brunch, the staff inyerrupted me and asked me to moved my seat , and my mood is totally distroyed, I waitted very long time for get a bill.no one come to give me bill.bad
Lovely place to have a drink. Unfortunately bartender closes down whenever they choose. Tonight 2 hours earlier than advertised.
Went there for a high tea - Amazing ambience - Exceptional service - Food was ... meh, they didnt really understand how a high tea works
Very prompt, efficient and friendly service. Appreciate the thoughtful cocktails. Highly recommend the Pineview Farms pork loin - delicious!
Better places are nearby!
Birthday Brunch was Delicious
Coffee was good - relatively soulless
What happened? The bar wasnt busy. The service was horrible. I had to ask to order a drink. The tables around me were sitting dirty my whole visit. These was no offer to split the bill. The staff were wearing ripped jeans and the chairs were thread bare. My local Smittys has better decor and service. Sask hotel prices, less than Super 8 quality. Wow, this place gone down hill.
Excellent apps, a delicious brunch, great cocktails, and a lovely atmosphere. It s obvious they care about the quality and presentation of their food and beverages.
Great food, great ambience and great service.
It was terrific for breakfast. Service was phenomenal, our server Joy was amazing!!
Service was not good. Waited too long for server to come and ask for drinks. To be honest I would of had 3 to their 1. The smoked old fashion was good but I think it could have been left in smoke longer for a more taste but I think the server just was busy had to go so just blew the smoke in my face and left. Food tasted good but if u r only going to have 6 entrees then they should be out of this world.
Christmas dinner was fantastic!
Beautiful ambience, Excellent food , and great drinks.
Money well spent on a very classy ambiance and service. The smoked cocktail is a must try at least for its novelty.
Good drink selection and very nice staff
Great atmosphere and service. Excellent food.
My daughter and I recently enjoyed a few days at the Hotel Sask in Regina and were thrilled by the great service and excellent meals at Circa 27. I have a soy allergy and my daughter is a vegetarian and Chef Dustin and the multi-tasking Jodie made sure we ate well while dazzling us with delicious food. I have never eaten a tastier salad. It was heart warming to see many familiar faces in the restaurant and at the desk. Staff like Chantelle and Jodie have become part of our annual trip over many years.
Good food ruined by the undelivered promise of vintage hotel opulence. Service deteriorated until non-existent, closing time changed on a whim, & under-staffing is a huge problem (2/5).
Always the best!
Fair price for good food. Excellent service. I m in love with the wings here, best I ve had in Canada
Good little bar located in the Hotel Saskatchewan. Staff was nice, and a great place for a quick drink before you go out
Beautiful, great service, and very nice atmosphere. Especially gorgeous around Christmas time!
Great atmosphere, great service, fair prices and amazing food!!
Good location. Good enough food and cocktails. Beer selection is narrow.
Really cool lounge bar, one of the best of any of the railway hotels in Canada.
Excellent service and friendly atmosphere.
BOTH stars go to the kitchen. Unfortunate when a beautiful dish is spoiled by bad service (pickles are amazing, cannot emphasize enough how devastating the service was).... and a HUGE thank you to the Keg for giving a MASSIVE upturn to the evening (I was so upset by the service at C27 that I didnt even bother asking for more bread to eat my dish in my hotel room so I stopped at the Keg and they jumped at the opportunity to serve me without question to offer me their sourdough... Thats service!) ...lol, JUST opened my take-home to find out they didnt even pack up half my dish... just dont go, surely Regina has better to offer
Had a lovely dinner experience here. The month of June burger was an absolute delight!! The beef belly on top was a great touch and well seasoned. They were able to accommodate some changes to the meal with no problem or extra fee. The bartender had some excellent food suggestions. The dessert I had was quite rich; it didn t quite hit the spot. But overall, I d recommend this lobby bar to anyone who is staying at the hotel, and even to those who aren t.
It is a shame I can only give it 5 stars. Erin, the all-star bartender, is all you need. Not only she will tell you the right food to order from the menu, but she will also blow your mind with her cocktails. Feel free to come in and order your favourite drink, because Erin will nail it. But if you want a real experience, you need to leave it to the expert. Tell her what your favourite drink is and ask her to surprise you. The only guarantee I can give you is that your (former) favourite drink will be no match. Now, if you are not in the exploring mood, just ask her for the Circa 27 or the Perfect Boulevardier, otherwise let her guid your experience. Funny enough the drinks are quite reasonabily priced (12-14 bucks per) and trust me, youll want a few... Othe than that, the atmosphere is fantastic and classy, food is great. Cheers and enjoy.
Loved the Prohibition Tea. The cauliflower soup is wonderful. Nice ambience and service.
The cocktails are excellent. The beer selection leaves more to be desired but youre drinking at one of the more upscale places in the city. Prices are fair for the quality of the drinks. While the lounge may be considered dated, it fits the clientele (+50 year old business people who still carry cash and wear dad sneakers). If youre looking for a trendy, modern and upscale bar to experience Regina I would not recommend. There is a lot of potential but the heavy history of the hotel holds this lounge back. If your looking to grab a drink with your parents after your convocation from your local university or college and have little or no debt because you won the affluent lottery this is the place. I suspect you wont be staying for more than one, I didnt.
Great service. Really interesting, tasty menu (try the toasties). Salads are close to the best salads I ve ever had. Trout Burger was excellent.
Very nice room as lounge and lunch place. Menu is limited at noon, but interesting. Best thing is the Circa burger. Bright classic atmosphere. Comfortable chairs. Good service
Staff and chefs were great. However, my gf and I were extremely disappointed to pay $34 per person for an ok brunch like that. We were visiting family and picked up the bill and couldnt believe it was $200 for the 6 of us. We wont be back or recommend as the quality didnt come close to the cost. We couldve ate a great meal at a fancy restaurant for that price. Do yourself a favour and check out some of the other places that offer breakfast or brunch and save yourself some money. Its sad to post this review cuz I love the vibe of the place but not at that price.
Friendly, warm and welcoming!
Great atmosphere!
Like ci like ca
I had the pleasure of a nice slow 4-course meal with a couple of glasses of wine at Circa 27 last night. I started with the carrots and beets , then the cauliflower soup, a pork burger and delicious cheesecake to finish. Everything was very skillfully assembled, bringing in a lot of local ingredients and very carefully chosen other flavours. Highly recommended.
Great lounge with full meal service. Intimate feel - beautifully decorated. Outstanding menu featuring local producers.
Good food but poor wine list taking into account the reputation of the Hotel. Setting is way too casual for a dining room in a grand hotel. Service is decent. Overall it falls below my expectation in light of the fact that it is located in one of the establishment hotel in Canada.
Love it
Beautiful cocktail lounge recently renovated. Good selection of cocktails
