2206 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4R 1H3, Canada
Longtime brewpub providing housemade beers & casual fare in a down-to-earth setting.
Bushwakker's has never disappointed. I've been visiting this location for almost 20 years, and recently I had an interaction with Grant and I couldn't believe how much time he invested in ensuring my experience was the best it could be.
Good nostalgic feeling prairie place. Waitresses were rude, but the food made it better. Since no one sits you, I made enough room for 10 people. Waitress came and said In a condescending way, "how about we DONT block the washroom, and act like you have a head on your shoulders...follow me." Good food and atmosphere. Those don't make you feel bad.
This was a really good burger and beer. Was a really nice treat this long weekend :-) I was surprised how much flavour the burger had. Nice and juicy and just the right amount of seasoning. Might be the best burger 🍔 and fries in town. Thank you for making my weekend :-)
For $26.59, you can get a boar burger with a side of fries at @bushwakkerbrewpub . That’s before tip but with taxes included. Is the burger expensive? Yes. Was it worth it? Not really. The bun was fresh and tasty, the boar burger was decent. However the patty literally was falling apart as I ate it. One would think maybe that’s because of the type of meat? However my coworker’s beef patty with his briar burger was also falling apart. He actually ate his burger with a fork and knife while I used my hands to pick up the fallen pieces. The patty itself needed more salt, less hand work and potentially more egg yolk to keep it together. And possibly, a night in the refrigerator to solidify the patty shape. What was really delicious was the fire-roasted pepper relish. That had the most flavour. The patty had some flavour, although I could barely tell it was boar. The fries were awesome! I appreciate the use of seasonings along with the white and malt vinegar on the table. The sheer size of the mound of fries was appreciated as well. I probably wouldn’t order a burger from here again unless they fix their patties. Especially not for that price. So for $26.59 ish you get to eat a burger with a knife and fork!
In Regina for the first time (Riders game). Great food and service. Love the layout and atmosphere. Lots of beer variety (Brewpub).
I have eaten/drank at Bushwakkers well over 200 times in 33 years. Always a pleasure. Best nachos in North America hands down. I recommend Bushwakkers every opportunity I get. I bring the brew home to Saskatoon every trip.
I was recently in Regina on a work trip for the first time and I was looking for a local place to try, after reading good things about Bushwakker and taking a look at the menu, it was decided. I came specifically for the Wild Boar burger and was not disappointed! The patty was sooo flavorful and not at all gamey. I wasn't sure what to expect but I loved it and I'm looking forward to having it again the next time I'm in town. I also took an order of the pecan pie back to my hotel and was blown away by how delicious it was. The pie itself AND the whipped cream. I'm not sure if the cream was homemade but it definitely tasted like it was! Customer service was great, even with it being a busy evening. Parking was a bit hard to find. I definitely can't wait to come back though
I don't know what all of the hype is. Everyone I've ever known has raved about this place, but for it being bar food, at twice the cost, it gets a sub-par rating from me. Service was absolutely amazing, she was attentive to our needs. The menu was dull, and overpriced. I enjoyed my food, but ultimately have had the same quality for a cheaper price and better atmosphere. Disappointed, but wanted to totally love.
I am a devotee of this establishment. At this stage Id say my review is biased. I will draw your attention to the fact that in order to get me to frequent a business to the degree that I become this biased means that I have found no place better than the Bushwackker to quench my thirst, satiate my palate and find a sense of community. My Christmas is not quite complete without Meade. Meade is best, from a sentimental and taste perspective, from Bushwackker. I get time with family and Meade. How sweet is that? Wait...theres cheesecake Dietary restrictions: We live with Gluten and pork allergy
Great brew pub with very good food. Helpings are big. Live entertainment usually starts around 7:30 so it gets louder
I always love that place , great Beer and great food
Good local beer, good food (HUGE) and lots of people. Busy place with a cool look and cool vibe.
Overpriced frozen food.
Awesome burger and cheesecake
Always an exceptional experience and atmosphere at Bushwakkers!
The Vegetarian Pizza was fabulous!
This is a true pub. Your there to mingle with the ones you invited. Service is great.
Love this place and Britt was THE BEST!!
I am so impressed with this place. Lots of gluten-free options. The service was impeccable! We went before a Riders game, and the atmosphere was amazing.
Affordable + vibe
This used to be my favorite restaurant in the city, and I frequently went multiple times per week. Unfortunately now, the prices are wildly inflated, and the menu seems to be shrinking. One size of nachos now, burgers have disappeared, $6 more to add meat to an already $20 burrito, not to mention the jambalaya is now $33 Oh and mead is now $160 for 6 bottles.
No non sense, simply delicious, and an awesome beer selection! However, last visit Sept 26, 2024 a bit grossed out as I had a hair in my burger and my friend had hair in their chicken wings someone in the back with medium length dark hair needs to wear a hair net!!!
What happens when some bored physics professors get together? They make amazing craft beer and have the law changed so they can make it in their own pub. The hospitality here makes you feel at home, like it s your own joint. Cher, who served us, shared her own favourites to help the ditherers amongst us opt for the thing we couldn t make at home - a bison burger. As you do. Heaps of fries, the smokiest of bacon rashers elevating the patty (bison is quite lean). Homemade desserts if you can make room for them sound just amazing - but I was stuffed. The vibe was perfect for talking with friends in a long overdue reunion.
Not being familiar with restaurants in Regina I had to pick a meeting spot for a meetup with friends, one visiting from Scotland. I m so glad I chose Busheskker as our burgers were divine, and we were allowed to linger and talk. Our server Cher was exceptional and gave us the full history of this plus. I d definitely return
Food is delicious, great to get out with friends
Great place to eat and have a brew. We were here for Oktoberfest month, and the food was spectacular. Prices were good and wonderful service from Kat.. Would definitely return
Our family favorites are the Gumbo and Jumbalaya but tonight we had Schnitzel and Spatzel, one of the October specials. It was delicious like all the food we have tried here!
Bushwakkers is one of our favorite bar/restaurants in Regina. The first brew pub here in the city, open over 30 years. They serve excellent comfort food with a focus on local specialties, their fish and chips are renounced. They brew a wide variety of beer and you cannot have a review without mentioning their Christmas blackberry mead. Prices are reasonable, most dishes are around the $25 or $30 range. Service is fast and everyone is friendly. If you havent been to Bushwakkers, put it on your to-do list.
One of our favourite places all time. Great food and service and atmosphere. Always the best.
Food was okay........nothing to write home about . Wouldnt make it a regular spot Food
The nachos are unreal. Probably the best in the city. Alchohol selection is good, and some really great non-alcoholic options too! Parking: Currently, there s a parking lot across the street and a bit east while construction is happening in dewdney.
Their beer is amazing!
Awesome place. 2nd time going pre game Labour Day Classic. Food is amazing. Will definitely go back.
Ive loved this place for years! Live music on Mondays and Wednesdays. No place like it in town. A pint of Cheryls blonde ale and a beef dip please. Food
Excellent service. Excellent chicken wings. Excellent cake.
Support Local.
Weve always come for the nachos because it was loaded. We came on a Friday and found the portions smaller, theres less ingredients so needless to say were quite disappointed. Wont be returning unfortunately
Very cool place to go for some food and good beers. The Cuban sandwich was unbelievable. The beef dip was pretty boring but still good, I ve just had better. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys pubs.
Friendly staff, good service
Good as always. Glad I had the Wild Boar again as its fantastic. Will be back for sure.
Wakker Burger ( beef or bison) is awsome ! The fries as well ! Never disappoints . Food : 5/5
A cozy pub. Friendly staff, and great food and beer.
I had one of their signsture entrees tonight - fish and chips. The full order consists of 2 good-sized fish and an ungodly amount of fries! Money well spent for sure!
The food, and service is as it always is,extremely good.
Very high-quality food; extensive gluten-free menu (dedicated fryer); friendly, attentive service; and a great atmosphere.
Great food and drinks! Cool rustic atmosphere! No minors allowed good for some occasions but not all unfortunately.
My favorite spot to go for a drink and cheesecake! The fries and gravy were so delicious too!
Great food and drink, every time we go.
Was good .. closes early .. by 9 though
Bushwakker is a great, local establishment. If you love Regina, you love great food and friendly service, plus a massive beer menu, this is the place.
Ordered the Beef Dip, the beef was dry like off a 2 day old roast. The Wakky burger was awfull beef mix patty was loaded with rosemary, and not worth $22. Service was fine, the dam street was all dug up.
The best beer in Regina!
Excellent gluten free food, great atompsphere, service and a great venue for local musicians!
Has a gluten-free fryer and great gluten-free options! Staff is very knowledgeable about gluten free diets. They have a gluten free stout beer.
First Firken Friday!
Love the vibe and the food here. I would recommend the kombucha and veggie burger
What can I say that hasnt already been said? If you dont like this place... bro... it YOU. Its amazeballs... straight up. Food : 5/5
Vegetarian options: Veggie burger, veggie quesadilla, veggie burrito Food
I have celiacs and I have eaten from here twice and never got sick. One of Valentine s Day when it was really busy, I was a little nervous but it was delicious and I didn t get sick. Highly recommend
I have really enjoyed bushwaker over the years. The food prices have crept up, so have the alcohol prices... But still a solid choice. The restaurant hasnt changed in a long time... Could use a bit of updating... Some new tables and chairs would go a long way
Nice live music
We went here as a group of 6 and as soon as we got there it all went down hill. Started off with an absolutely miserable waitress. She talked over us, would reach over people, told us we would order in the order she talked to us, no in order of how we were seated. The food wasn t very good either. We had to wait almost an hour after eating to ask for more drinks and dessert. Upon requesting a dessert she snarled at us and acted like it was the end of the world. This was very disappointing as this place was highly recommended. Instead it was my worst dining experience. Avoid this place at all costs.
Great place with a lot of character, a great selection of craft beers and really good food!
Awesome place to eat! My husband and I had supper and drinks here. Everything was great. Food was delicious, drinks were perfect. Service was top notch.
Worth visit for great beer and food !
Managed to arrive on the first firkin Friday. What an experience! The nachos were awesome and great beer! Definitely going back.
First time going. Had a great time. The staff are awesome and the food was really good.
The atmosphere was great there. I ordered chicken wings, and friends had burgers. Burgers were good, but my meal was a little below my expectations . I felt that the wings were overcooked.
Food was great had fish and chips
What A Great Venue So Happy that They Started Up the Monday Blues Night And What A Great Kickoff The Food Was AMAZING The Service Second To NONE And The Entertainment Though I May Be a little biased Was Very Entertaining and If You Want Beer They Got Beer And... When You Go Dont Forget To Check Out The ART WALL I Sure Did And Ill Check it Again When I Go Back Which I Pray Is Soon This IS A Really Great Place
Great place
Fun place to eat at. Although it was packed with people, the food came fast, the service was excellent and the food was delicious! I totally recommend it.
Great for hosting events. The only issue is they do not have the worlds best beer. Guiness. Still 5 stars . Locally great! Had the nachos, I dont even eat nachos, but I had sooooo many nachos.
Went at lunch was busy. The steak sandwich was amazing. Cooked just tight.
First things first, the portion sizes are huge, and its not like you get a giant plate of mediocre food either, it was all pretty good. I ordered the wild boar burger, which if I didnt know it was boar I would not have been able to distinguish from a beef burger, not gamey like other will meat or overly fatty like pork can be. Fries were hand cut and properly done. My wife got the nachos and it was huge, layers and broiled with each layer. Its kinda an easy dish at most places, but they took time and put in effort. The beers are made in house and everything we tried was excellent. First Friday of the month they do a special keg and since it was cinco de mayo they had a lime raddler infused with jalapeno tequila. Not an everyday beer but it was something special. To top it off, they pipped the keg in (with actual bagpipes) like it was the haggis on Robbie Burns day.
Just a all around great place for drinks and snacks!
We did not expect to have a great experience with ordering Pizza at this place. That was very delish! Not quite happy with my Pina Colada cocktail but staff were very friendly and I loved the vibe!
Basic pub food, but still pretty good. Servers were friendly and attentive.
The beer and food were great and the restaurant has an interesting old atmosphere
The service here was great! The staff were very friendly and my brother got a birthday shot. Didnt get a chance to try the food, but my friends said it was perfect. The drinks I had were fantastic!
Excellent pub fare and brew on tap!
Great food, service and large portions. Also, great selection of food menu and beverages.
Nice atmosphere, good beer selection.
Terrible service. Was served by one of the sarce managers. So rude. Ask to see the other manager but she wouldn t come to talk to me. Worst service in Regina. DO NOT recommend this place at all. Stay away
Great food, amazing selection of beers. Definitely returning!
Very friendly service. And the cocktails are great
Great beer and tasty food. Will return when I visit Regina again!
I live in Edmonton but attended an engineering conference in 2015 and I would have rather spent time at Bushwakkers than the conference. The food, atmosphere, staff and especially the beer were fantastic! I left a function early the second night of the conference so that I could go back to Bushwakkers it was so good! Luckily, a good friend has family in Regina and once or twice a year she journeys back and gets me a couple of their beers which I save for a special occasion. If I lived in Regina, I d live in Bushwakkers.
Beef dip and fish & chip were amazing French fries are the best
A must when we are in Regina
Great food !
Great food and fast. Nice atmosphere and good choice of seats. Forgot pictures
Seriously good fries :) The beer is good, too. Food
Ordered chicken fingers and fries. Fries are amazing here, but the chicken fingers are pretty trashy. Im not sure if I wasnt in the mood for them, but they felt like they came from Walmart. Coworks loved their food. Id still go again though.
Stopped in for lunch with an old friend. The food was fresh & very tasty. Lots of fries with my Beef Dip. Will definately stop in again.
Excellent food.
The food was decent but a little pricey for what we got. Our service was not great. It definitely felt as though our waitress didn t want to help our table. The atmosphere is absolutely the best part. There was a live band which was a nice surprise for us. Parking: There s an odd, long parking space across the street that is very hard to back out of onto the road. Kid-friendliness: 19+
Labour Day Game 2022. Pregamed here. Decent food and drink, a little to open and bright for my liking. But ok.
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp is in the back of the building and it has a sturdy hand rail. Food
Beers beers and more beers and SO good. Oh yah,the food is great too
Great place to go for good food and nice atmosphere.. Sat at the bar and met manager and bar tender ..great guys good conversation when they had time and great service ..I will be back whenever Im back in Regina ..
Very good food .beer is real .
A very consistently reliable establishment. Year after year! The staff have always been upbeat, welcoming, and know the food and drink options so well. Dietary restrictions: Options available for gluten free needs. Wheelchair accessibility: Enter by ramps on the rear of yhe building parking area.
The strawberry feta spinach salad was amazing. Layers upon layers of all the toppings. Delicious dressing (I would love to have the recipe).
In Regina for work and went to Bushwakker with a work colleague and everything was great! Saskatchewan hot plate meal was delicious, atmosphere is authentic, and our waitress (Cher) was AMAZING! Here four more days and will for sure be going back to Bushwakkers Pub before heading home. If you re visiting Regina, you gotta come here.
Outstanding!
Excellent food and warm atmosphere. Enjoyed a wonderful lunch of homemade seafood chowder and Gaelic Boxty (fantastic .). House brewed IPA was also delicious. Server was prompt, efficient and friendly. Would repeat if I was in Regina again. Parking was sketchy - getting across Dewdney wasn t the safest though.
Very good food. And beer too! And its nice to see Bushwakkers hasnt moved up all their prices exorbitantly like so many other/most restaurants have done! Kid-friendliness: This should be considered an adults-only restaurant. The setting and menu isnt designed with kids in mind; and thats not a bad thing.
For over 30 years has been our go to place for guaranteed great food and service. Still our favorite beers are brewed here!
The food was fantastic. The service was average, which is not a complaint! I liked the vibe and the atmosphere but was thankful that we could go into the smaller room off the large restaurant area because the open concept bar side was extremely loud even at lunch time. The smaller room was perfect for us though and again, the food ordered was great. I hadnt been here for ten years and was happy to see the quality has stayed strong.
Once again, stopped into Bushwakker before the Rider game, yup we were pushing it being 75 minutes to game time but as they have many times before, service was fast, food was fast (and delicious) and we were back out the door and on our way to game in plenty of time!
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options exist, but are very limited. I think just a burrito and a quesadilla. Food
Best service, perfect setup, and best of all, the food is outstanding. Great value and atmosphere along with there own brews and my favourite, sarsaparilla! Had the burgers and fries before, this time the Jambalaya and can t wait to go back
Great food
Came here during the Hop circuit. Service was good, but atmosphere was dead and not a lot going on for a Saturday night. Our group got the chicken fingers and fries (which was actually a good drunk meal at midnight) but some of the group got the cheese cake the servers were raving about. They ordered the Raspberry Watermelon Pina Colada Cheesecake. It was NOT good, and in fact it didnt have any watermelon and it only had a raspberry purée. The cheesecake itself was actually just a plain cheesecake sadly. Overall experience was mediocre, I would have gave 2.5 stars to keep it at 50% but unfortunately google only allows a 20% score.
Great place for food, service and atmosphere. The location is perfect but parking can difficult at supper time . They accommodate reservations which for a larger group is great . Have seen sports teams come in but never effected the service we received. The menu had a variety of selection and came within reason and serviced hot. Had enough to pack a box for lunch the next day. The price was within reason for the food and bar shots. The waitress was quick to serve, introduced herself and took our drink orders. She went on to mention that they had entertainment on specific nights ; a good to know . At atmosphere was friendly, lots of tables and roomy . Never disappointed when we go as a group or couple.
Really loud, shifty hipster band...
It was my first time there, and I was very impressed. The waitresses were busy but handled every table beautifully.
Very tasty Gaelic Boxty and Irish red
Comfortable setting, pleasant servers and great selections of local beer
Great food and great beer
Pre-Riders game lunch. Fish n Chips and a beer in less than 30 minutes. Caught the bus to the game 1/2 a block from the front door. Lots of on street parking on a Saturday afternoon.
Always great food, drink, and service. Laid back comfortable atmosphere. Cant go wrong.
Great food after the football game
Knowledgeable waitress made selecting preferred beer and food options a breeze.
I ordered the Cuban sandwhich with fries and a pint of the black and red beer. The food came out hot. This was also my first time having a Cuban sandwhich, which was good but not something I would order again fries were hot and crispy. The real highlight was the beer the black and red was amazing I look forward to trying more of their other house beers.
Awesome atmosphere. Amazing food. Great beer selection. All worth another trip. 3rd trip. Still awesome still delicious. Great service. A true brew pub. This is a must if your looking for a great meal in a great space. Food
Great place to hang out with friends.
Good food... beer was decent and a fun crowd, made for a nice experience. Would go back for sure.
Great food as always, portions are huge, price great. Cant go wrong with anything on the menu
I dont go there often but Im always happy when I do. The staff is personable and available when needed but not hovering. The food is always amazing. Its easy to see why they have been in business as long as they have. Parking: Parking is always an issue but the restaurant is worth the trouble.
Very poor parking, loud. Weekly local bands. Many types of on site brewed craft beers. Large selection of scotch. Blackberry Mead in a little over 11 days
Excellent Scotch Tasting night! Love the staff!
Great atmosphere and great food!
$35 for two beer ? NO THANK YOU, I will not come back to this place !
The best brewpub in Regina by far. Excellent food and prices. Great value for money.
Went after work for a coworkers going away. Awesome atmosphere and drinks. Try the Gaelic Boxty its AMAZING! Food : 5/5
Amazing food and great customer services. You must try their nachos! Amazing
Food was okay. Maybe I had higher expectations as my coworkers highly recommended this place. It was quite loud too. Hard to have a good conversation. Staff was friendly and helpf though
Food is always amazing here. Service great at a very busy lunchtime.
Great Nachos! Awesome selection of beers
Food was amazing, service was impeccable, I believe Courtney was the waitress, and the beer, oh man, so great! Will definitely be back every time we come through town.
Probably the best nachos in town. No cheese skimping here. One of the few places to have live bands while you have a pint or grab something to eat. A staple in the local craft beer industry and well known for their seasonal mead. They even do local fundraisers. Never a bad time at Bushwakkers.
Food is good and portions are large. They might consider a Seniors Menu, or smaller portions because it seems that the patrons were mostly in the 60+ category because they had been enjoying things there since they were in their 20s
