The Cottage Restaurant in Regina

We had the chicken souvlaki & Veal cutlet, both were very tasty but the vegetable side was Very Skimpy one tiny piece of carrot One very small floret broccoli. Disappointing! Parking: Parking is VERY LIMITED. Only 2 handicap spots and the parking area has reserved business parking for their customers . Street parking is okay but not good in winter.

A true hidden gem in Regina!! The food and the service is always excellent and its a great place to go and be able to have a conversation. If you havent been, you are definitely missing out!!

I was just there to buy a gift certificate. Lady who helped me was very helpful and friendly. To her, I was more than just another customer.

I ve been going there for literally decades now, and never tire of their excellent pepper steak dinner the meat is always tender and flavorful, mixed with delicious peppers, onions, and gravy, yummm.

The food was great and the atmosphere was some of the best you will find in Regina for a classy, cozy and quiet dinner setting. Prices are high but are to be expected for a restaurant of this calibre. Service from the hostess was top notch, but our server (an older gentleman) turned up his nose at a $20 tip on a $150 pre tax bill which is very standard and plenty of additional *optional* money to pay for someone simply doing their job. I am talking a complete 180 from originally friendly attitude to tossing the receipt down on the table rudely and walking away without so much as a thanks. Not a very great feeling to leave the restaurant with after paying such high prices.. I d have tipped nothing if I knew that this was the reaction to get. So not a perfect experience but I can t ding the whole restaurant for the servers behaviour so I would probably return. I am not sure you ll find a comparable experience in Regina.

Great restaurant and our server Brett was excellent. The calamari is a must and the baklava was next level. The Cottage provides amazing ambiance and makes for a wonderful dining experience.

Last night was honestly one of my worst fine dining experiences. We arrived for our reservation and we were seated by the bar. The first irritation was the broken table that wobbled precariously if any of us leaned on it. The second was the staff that gathered at the Bar to gossip and discuss thier plans for the evening. I would have complained and asked to be moved if it was just us, however we were with friends and i was tring to manage my frustration. Our food was delicious and the waitress was good but when the gossip escalated, the bar fridge door continued to slam. It was so incredibly noisy. I had enough! At the end of the meal I mentioned my complaints to the waitress. She apologized and said she would speak to the manager(appropriate). I saw her do so. The ultimate insult is that the manager did not even stop by our table to inquire or apologize - for this reason alone -we will NEVER go back. Go to Greckos across the street! Great food and a much better experience.

Not as high end as the prices are! Food is good, not amazing. Choice of potato does not include mashed. Ceasar salad is bland. Bread served is thin and cheap. They could opt for a better bread.

I dont go here that often as fine dining is not something I do too much. When ever I have gone out to a nice fancy restaurant. This is where I go. I am sure I have eaten here a few dozen times over the last 42 years. There food is amazing! Service has always been fantastic and I love the look inside. Absolutely my favorite fine dining restaurant in the city. They have never let me down. Went for lunch today and they continue to impress me. Thank you so much Cottage.

Very impressed with this comfy place. Great steak (ask for Chicago style). Our waitress was very helpful. They have a good international wine list, but it would be nice to see a few Canadian reds, too.

My boyfriend and I were visiting from a different city and decided to try this restaurant out. it was amazing!!! excellent service and delicious food.

Not sure where to start, the menu looks like it hasnt changed since the 70s or 80s. The food was good, but not good enough to justify the portion sizes, $60.00-$80.00 steaks, $36.00 for the cheaper entrees, $20.00 salads and $20.00 childrens options on the menu. The carpet covering the entire dining room was a questionable design choice although the bathroom was clean. One pet peeve of mine is the fact that everything comes with a Greek salad (which on the menu is more expensive than a Cesar,) yet if you want to upgrade a salad to anything else with your meal, its $8.00. Parking: Strip mall parking. Kid-friendliness: They have four options and willing to do substitutes for sides.

Always phenomenal! The atmosphere, the service, the food - all amazing! We come here to celebrate our birthdays and anniversaries. We have never had a bad experience and I recommend this place to everyone. I recommend the Athenian Chicken with House Salad and Lemon Roasted Potatoes... wont be disappointed!

We had Easter supper here on the Sunday. It was busy but service was first rate. Food was very good, as usual, though my back ribs were a bit salty. First time I have had the rice dish and it was tasty. There were seven us and others enjoyed salmon, pepper steak and a pasta dish.

The food was delicious. Service was friendly and quick. Had a group of 11 and all the food came to the table at the same time and it was all hot.

Wanted a special supper, and the Cottage did not let us down again. Staff was great once again.

Wonderful Anniversary experience there in June. Attentive server made the time extra enjoyable. Dinner was served in a timely fashion and every bit as delicious as I remembered it from last year when we were there. Highly recommend for anyone

We have been going here for years, it is a must go to place if you are in Regina. It is a hidden gem. The food always comes out very hot, the service is great and it always hits the spot. It is obvious that it is family run because everything is always on point. DON T MISS IT!

An extremely pleasant dining experience. The restaurant was beautifully presented with a very good menu offering something for everyone. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful with questions and suggestions and the food was delicious, portions large and price for this venue was quite reasonable.

The place is clean. Plenty of parking. The service staff is friendly and quick. The restrooms are clean. The food was good and price correctly for what you get.

Horrible service felt unwelcome right from the moment we stepped through the door once seated the waitress spilled ice water all over us and the table wiped off the ice cubes said sorry, then proceeded to pour more water and spilled more on us. We got up and left and all they said was What then said sorry once we were walking out the door

This is My absolute favorite restaurant to go for a Great steak and lobster. Its a perfect little date night hidden in the corner.

We decided to go here because my partner had worked there 40 years ago and had fond memories of the place. Immediately I was struck by the very cosy, elegant atmosphere. Our server, Brett, was one of the best Ive ever had. Intuitive, great suggestions, great attitude, humour, and made a mean Manhatton. His suggestions about what to order were so on point and specific. We had the escargot, which was en par with high end steak places, a bit salty, but the homemade garlic bread sopped up all the deliscious buttery goodness. The caeser salad was prefectly chilled, plentiful, and creamy, albeit without baon and anchovies. Had the perfect bite. The soup of the day was a creamy brocolli cheese, which Brett put extra cheese on. We didnt think wed have room for our mains but they were so good, we left nothing on our plates. The lamb was cooked perfectly, with julienne veggies, and Brett suggested the potatoes with a side of Tzatziki which was amazing. I had hesitatedly ordered the pasta with seafood because the sauce described said mild, and I like my garlic. Well Brett convinced me that it was the dish to try, so I did....and boy I didnt regret it. The seafood was plentiful, fresh, and the dish WAS super creamy and had tons of authentic flavour. The portions are huge here, so be ready to eat. Even the house wine was good. Will definately come back when in town. A bit pricey, but worth it for date night. I did wish Id dressed up a bit more, even though most people were fairly casual. The Cottage is definately Date night worthy.

This is a gem of a restaurant. Delicious food, great service and atmosphere. We had the Allo Pollo and the Di Gamberetto. Both were delicious.

Service was great, place was nice. The chicken sucked. $39 for one meal and my wife cooks much better then that. I ve heard the steak is good I would try that if I were you.

We went in on September 27th, my partner and I with our almost 2yr old who was just waking up from a nap and not in a very good mood. Everyone was so patient with us. Our waiter brought us some bread (without us even asking) to help calm our daughter down which it did. Our food tasted great. My rib steak was cooked perfectly, was charbroiled and was SO delicious. We were constantly getting topped off on our waters and drinks. Our waiter was awesome but so was all the staff that waited on us. It definitely was a team effort on all their parts. We were just in Regina for a couple days but we will definitely be returning on our next trip there. I highly recommend this place. Definitely a hidden gem and I already cant wait to return again!

Ive been coming to the Cottage since I was quite young, and it never disappoints. They take food sensitivities super seriously, and accomodate for me in ways that make me feel genuinely cared for. I highly recommend this place: great food, excellent atmosphere, and the service is always top-notch. Dietary restrictions: I have celiac disease, which means I cant have gluten. Both times I have been here since my diagnoses, the staff have been super kind about it and genuinely understand what I can and cant have. I dont eat out lots due to my ailment, but the Cottage is one place Ive never felt uncomfortable eating at.

The Cottage is the type of place you can go to for a casual and relaxing date night, or a place you could get dressed up and go to with your family / friends for a special occasion. The staff is always terrific, and the food is beyond excellent. I d go to The Cottage for the garlic toast and Greek rib appetizer alone but everything else is delicious also. If you haven t been to this locally owned restaurant yet, you are truly missing out!! P.S. I don t have any type of affiliation with The Cottage. My family and I just really love it!!

Amazing wait staff and maybe the best steak I have ever had

We had company so we went to the cottage for dinner as the food and service is generally excellent although a little pricey. Unfortunately we had a sub par experience. The pasta dishes that 2 of us ordered were great. However the chicken and the chicken souvlaki dishes were not. They were overcooked, dry and tough to eat.

I will start off by saying this is a very classy restaurant with amazing and super friendly service. We were seated very quickly and my food was properly prepared the way I asked for it. The cook and server did a fantastic job accommodating us and making sure everything was to our liking. I will definitely be back here.

The drinks, dessert, salads and service are super. The food is a bit bland I ordered lasagna and I had better in fast food places. The breaded shrimps were not that good. I recommend this restaurant for special occasions because the atmos is quiet and the service is excellent.

The steak had me laughing with every bite it was so good. Highly recommend the lemon potatoes with it. Parking: Never have had trouble finding parking on the lot. Kid-friendliness: We usually go here when it is just the two of us but weve had two kids as the years have gone and every time we bring them we are always welcome and they always help out and do as much as they can for us like bringing the toast or kids meals quickly. And its not even like I am asking them to do this they just know what its like to have kids is the feeling I get when i bring my kids with me.

Amazing meal! We were celebrating out daughters birthday and decided to go somewhere we hadnt been in a long time (probably close to 30 years). We were seated seated quickly and had our drink order shortly after that. We were served garlic toast to start, well we devoured it, best I think Ive had. We started with the baked feta to share, which of course demands some garlic toast. My daughter choose the Filet Neptune with lemon roasted potatoes, just cutting into it, she was smiling because it was so tender. It did not disappoint. Her boyfriend went with the Chicken a la Cottage. Hes a mushroom guy and it was the quietest hes been over dinner, didnt put his fork down till it was done. My wife had the Athenian Chicken, again amazing flavors. Juicy chicken seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of feta. I choose the Greek ribs with lemon roasted potatoes. Unbelievable is how I would describe them and the best lemon roasted Ive ever had. Finished with in house made baklava and their peanut butter cheesecake. I am being remiss in not remembering our servers name, but she was excellent, great advice on dish selection, the right amount of humor and a great lesson on some Regina Greek family history. We will not take so long to return. A true gem in Regina.

We visited last night for the first time. We cant say enough good things about this restaurant. The staff, service and food was outstanding. If you are a chicken lover the Chicken stuffed with sauted mushrooms and swiss cheese with sauce is unbelievable. And the veal cutlets were the real deal! So tender!!! We will be back. Thankyou to everyone there for a wonderful evening!

Great food quiet place to enjoy a romantic evening

We moved away from Regina many years ago, and havent dined at the Cottage for a long time. We took our son out for his birthday supper, and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The service, food, and atmosphere was excellent, just the way we remembered it. Our son is now a Regina resident, and it was the first time he had enjoyed the Cottage and he was impressed. We think you will see him more often in the future. Thank you.

This is my go to restaurant for special occasions. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy. The wait staff is very helpful and friendly. The rib steak is so incredible! You smile as soon as you take a bite. I love topping mine with the Neptune sauce. Can t wait to dine in again now that restrictions have been lifted!

A perfect dining experience. Took my grandmother out for dinner as I was visiting from Edmonton. To say the service was amazing would be an understatement. Sula treated us as though we were her family, and the food was just scrumptious. Steak was perfect. Cannot wait to return.

Service was excellent....my steak was cooked as requested ....but way way to salty. Waiter asked how everything was and he said they dont use salt....hmmm is seasoning salt not salt? Why ask how everything is and not do anything about it...I was unable to eat my expensive steak!

Its hard not giving the Cottage 5 stars. Its been a staple of Regina for about 40 years. The menu has barely changed since then and its consistently amazing. Pro tip: save a few bucks and get the veal cutlets. One of the least expensive dishes on the menu, its arguably the best.

Everything about our experience at The Cottage was top notch. The ability to contact the restaurant to make our reservation online with a quicker than promised response time was convenient. The restaurant was busy but still has an atmosphere designed to have conversations easily. We had a table of 7 ladies, our waiter was helpful with recommendations, attentive and friendly. The food was divine and the portions are filling. Greek chicken with the house special potatoes, Baklava... nom nom nom. Highly recommend for a date or a larger get together.

I loved my dinner experience here. With my aunt and mother, we enjoyed three different chicken plates and the house dressing on the salad is phenomenal. Our server was very attentive and kind which I really appreciated. The atmosphere here is cozy, formal but not too formal; welcoming. Will come here again when Im in Regina visiting family for sure! Our experience at the Cottage is usually very good, and has been for yrs. They have a great lunch menu, but tonight I could taste Filet Mignon and its always good.

Classic evening in Regina with Greek flare. Garlic bread with our shrimp appi and authentic Greek salad started off a wonderful dinner. Souvlaki and Shish kebob were absolutely delicious. And our server most gracious. Thank you for such a special evening.
