Mei Wei is my FAVORITE place for Chinese and Vietnamese food in the city. I've been consistently ordering food from here for over 10 years now. Everything is amazing. Staff is so nice and polite, food is always great, short wait times for pickup. It's always hot and delicious. Servings are plentiful and the takeout combos are perfect. The Shanghai noodles and ginger beef are must haves.
We picked up dinner for 4 of us. Wonton soup was quite bland and a very small portion for the price. Lemon chicken was chewy and thin but the sauce is tasty, Almond chicken and veg was good, peking porkchop was good. So definitely hit and miss here. Maybe eat-in is better, I don't know.
Delicious! I wish we had a few hours to try more dishes from their expansive menu. We liked the fried udon noodles and hot and sour soup. Note that many items are family-sized portions so maybe ask about. We don’t often get to have authentic Chinese and the dining experience that comes with it.
Mei Wei Regina has the most authentic Hong Kong style Noodle Soups in the city. Have tried almost every Asian Restaurant in Regina and my husband who grew up in Hong Kong can vouch this is the best the city has to offer. The clear broth is different for the wonton versus the braised beef and not just the generic stock some restaurants brew. Wonton Broth is clear and light, slightly sweet with umami and the Braised beef broth had a definite anise taste that doesn’t overpower. Wontons are plump combination of pork&shrimp encased in thin egg wrappers while braised beef cuts are melt in your mouth quality. Noodles are springy and plenty. Service is always quick and friendly even when it’s packed. Place is clean and parking is free and easy. We’ve been searching for the best and this definitely took us back to Tin Hau and Central HK!
This place might be the best asain place in town these days. The prices are great, relatively speaking. The food is top shelf and then some. I have not had one subpar item and I've tried a lot of their items. This place is a must try.
Food was fantastic. Only the second time eating here and decided to try supper (first time was excellent rice vermicelli bowls for lunch previously), were not disappointed. Had two of the single combos, both with more than we could eat, so yay leftovers! Was super busy with takeout orders so the only real negative I have is we never rec'd a refill on our water, food however was hot, fresh and flavourful. Food reviews are very subjective but we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Looking forward to returning to try full dishes off the menu.
My husband and mother in law went here after we walked out of another Chinese food place. It was a buffet and it was disappointing nothing but scraps in the buffet. This place was nice and many great options. Everything from Canadian Chinese to Vietnamese fresh noodle bowls. The ginger beef was a nice crispy with the right amount of spice. The pork noodle bowl was tender with the right amount of fat on the pork. The serving of chilli oils on the table could have been fuller I was digging out the last bit. The service could have been a bit better. The servers kept forgetting to fill our drinks. Other wise the atmosphere was clean and a nice touch of colour.
Good food, fast service. We ordered a mix of sweet pork in peking sauce then a spicy dish chicken xo sauce and they both work so well Together. Enjoyed it overall with some Taro boba and some soup and fried rice.
Food is always fresh and delicious.
Excellent! Highly recommend.
The food is authentic Canton food. The chef is from the region and is a reminder of home.
Very good Chinese restaurant! The fried rice noodles and noodle soup are very authentic Hong Kong flavors, and the beef brisket is very tender and delicious! The frozen lemon tea tastes as good as what I drank in Hong Kong, I like it very much Except for the three delicacies, salt and pepper, I personally wish the salt and pepper had more flavor. They are all very delicious! I will go back to visit again
Fresh, tasty, and quick service. Everything was well prepared & packaged. Generous portions with very good prices. Highly recommend
For the guy that called this restaurant an oriental restaurant please insert yourself into the 21st century, where that word is as racist as the ahem....another verrry bad word some people used to call a certain ethnic group... .if you catch my drift! Please dont use it....and if you truly dont know any better may God help you!
4.5. Overall good food was busy slow service but apologized. Hard finding good cuisine east of Rockies on Prairies. They meet and exceed flavours and quality
My first time to eat here, not happy at all, asking for menu, the waiter was sarcastic. Pls tell them to be polite and courteous to your costumers.
Excellent food. Good service. Very clean.
Honestly good Vietnamese food (from a North American perspective). Service is good, busy at lunch, so go early. Parking at that mall is tight..
Service was excellent and food portions were substantial for a decent price. Ginger beef could have been a bit crispier for my liking, but otherwise everything was delicious. Will definitely be back.
Food was delicious, the portions were great and the service was very good. The prices are good given the great portions
Tasty. The service is excellent. I definitely recommend it.
Really enjoyed our meal... everything was delicious and plentiful servings. Service was extremely friendly from everyone working there. Thank you for a great experience! Will definitely be back.
We visited this restaurant for the first time, excited to try their food after checking their reviews on Google. However, after waiting for an hour without our order arriving and seeing many others ahead of us still waiting, we decided to cancel. As we were leaving, I noticed other unhappy customers waiting for their orders. Four tables near us were also waiting, and one lady asked how much longer they would have to wait. With only three servers visible, another server informed new customers that they might wait a long time due to delayed service at some tables. Feeling dizzy from hunger and waiting, we decided to leave as well.
This WAS my go to place in Regina for Chinese food. Today I picked up white almond chicken. Meaning it wasn t deep fried enough but that s ok because the wafer thin chicken inside was cooked. Very bland special rice. This will be my last time. I ll have to find a new favourite spot for Chinese. To top that off the shrimp in the rice tastes moldy. Talk about a total waste of $30
Our go-to for Cantonese / Vietnamese food in the city. Almost always tastes fresh/made to order. I love when you order Asian food and it doesn t taste like they spooned it from a buffet table where it has been sitting for hours into a to-go container. I feel like many places do that. Especially noticeable with the vegetables in a dish. Love that their vegetables are always tender crisp here and not soft/mushy and overcooked. The salt and pepper shrimp dish is maybe our favourite.
The dining room is beautiful, comfortable and inviting. The food was incredible with large portions. The vegetables were fresh, bright and perfectly cooked. The service was perfect. Will keep coming back here for a long time. Update - still my favorite treat, thank you for the great, consistent food and service!
Cowboy ribs are pretty good
Racist servers. Literally so beyond rude it s incomprehensible. They ll talk in Chinese right in front of your face for any question you ask them. Always with a smug face as if serving your customers isn t part of your job. And this happens every single time we come. The guy that is always there is unbelievable. Horrible service that you always have to contain yourself to avoid complaining cus again, they ll talk behind your back in their language. Wouldn t come back if it weren t for their decent food.
Ordered for delivery. 2 hours, they said they would re emburse. Awesome that they took responsibility.
For my Lunar New Year celebration, I enjoyed traditional food. Although the servers were a bit slow, it was still a great experience.
This time What I order is good
Food is always fresh and delicious. Staff is attentive. Our go to restaurant when we crave Chinese!
Food not great. Bland and not very hot coming to the table. Server was great.
First time here, needed a quick snack. Ordered the Special Fried Rice and an Egg Roll. Had my food in under 15 mins. Huge portion, one of the best Ive ever tasted. I will be back in the future. Friendly, accommodating staff too.
Awesome restaurant with great Cantonese food in it. Highly recommend it.
Good food. Parking can be limited
We ordered tonight on New Year s Eve at 6:30pm, told us , hour and half to two hour wait, which we were ok with, considering the night. Two and a half hours go by, I called to check the status which at this point was 9pm, the website says they close at 8pm. They answer the phone hello I asked about the status of our order, he said without asking our address or order, that the driver is out with our order. OUR ORDER NEVER CAME! Not impressed and what i consider horrible customer service!
The food is pretty generous and tasty!
The taste is pretty good and the environment is pretty good too
Always a great way to feed a big group. They always provide so much. Lots for leftovers which is always the greatest.
What a great place to eat. The service was efficient and polite. The atmosphere was pleasant. What more could you ask for?
a taste of hong kong, get the baking too!
Excellent quality of food! My friend and I loved coming here. Everything tasted delicious. I will be back again!!
Passing by Regina, the food at this restaurant is delicious. I ordered the classic Cantonese dish of roast duck, imperial concubine chicken, stir-fried beef river, which was very delicious, and I also loved the fish-flavored eggplant pot! In addition to the delicious food, the service is also perfect. The lady s considerate and thoughtful service is worthy of praise
Great service! Portions are adequate. Overall great experience.
Parking: good Parking space
The food is very good, but most of the service staff here have a very bad attitude, and the way they serve, they do not smile, do not welcome guests. Everytime I come, it s always like this and to be honest I think the management staff should review and replace all employees if they continue like this.
Recently ordered from there for the first time and had to get it as takeout. The food was fresh and hot. Just a bit bland. Besides that, was impressed
Such an excellent menu and very reasonably priced too! The food is DELICIOUS!!! We LOVE going there! My only critique is they have the tv on (with sound) as well as the radio. Food
Happy family experience lots of space to have family around one table. Great food, fast and attentive staff! Parking: Tight for trucks...
The restaurant offers a very good variety of dishes going from authentic chinese to north-american chinese specialities. Their bbq duck and pork are to die for. I also very much enjoy their famous XO sauce which I drizzle on almost everything :D
For the first time in history, the one star rating is that chicken tastes like wood, with insufficient portions, high prices, long waiting times, and unpleasant food. I have never eaten such an unpleasant dish before, it completely refreshed my taste buds. Its unbelievable. This store still has the same location, but Im not sure if the chefs are the same. Four years ago, this attempt was perfect, but now it has dealt me a heavy blow. Unless there is a change, I do not recommend coming here for dinner It was very unpalatable. It was completely different from what I tried before the epidemic. It was really delicious at that time. Either the chef had changed or he didn t make the fried chicken carefully. It was so bad that it was unbelievable. The pork with dried plums and vegetables had no taste at all. It was so big. The meat also tastes very bad. The portion size is completely out of proportion to the price. It s so expensive, but it s only a small amount. Isn t it lonely after eating? It opens at eleven oclock. Went into the store at eleven oclock. We ordered food at eighteen and the food was served at eleven fifty-eight. If its done well, I can wait. The problem is that its not done well. Its quite poor. To be honest, the first one-star review ever! The vegetables are expensive and unsatisfactory!
Good food and service.
They wouldn t let me and my family sit down because I came in with a bottle of Aquafina. They forfeited a five person dinner bill for a half full bottle of water. Where s the sense in that? With that, I will never go back. Go to Peking House instead. Way better.
Love the Wor Wonton soup!
Best Chinese s food in Regina! Clean restaurant and delicious food! Highly recommended l!
There was a very noisy atmosphere parents cant control there childs outbursts and disruption they were expecting a tip no tip for you.and beer recommended or return
When you enter the store you go to the till in front, I wasnt sure when i came how the process goes so it helps a lot to know what to do when you enter. Because I came when theres a massive group I had to wait about 25-30 minute for my food. The staffs were very accommodating and nice, They might be short staffed when I came Idk. The service can be improved more but over all the food and everything is perfect. I wanted to make sure i give an impartial review so i decided to eat as varried as possible. I ordered hong kong style wanton noodles, it hit all the criteria I was looking for wanton noodles, the stock was not strong so you can choose how much spice you put. I also ordered ginger beef and honey garlic pork to each of their own have amazing but not overwhelming seasoning and well cooked. I also tasted their Vietnamese coffee, which is just as i remember back when i visited strong and sweet. The dumplings I ordered is not dry and doesnt just disintegrate in the soy sauce. The place is a good 4/5 Vegetarian options: Most chinese food is made with meat but they also accommodate to people with trouble eating meat, although not much theres enough selection yo choose from Parking: Parking is a bit hard if you come in the busy times, be sure to come when the store is not too busy, because of the store location it shares parking spot with other stores beside it Kid-friendliness: The place has a great vibes to it, its family friendly Wheelchair accessibility: They have tables with no fixed seats to better accommodate people in wheelchair
The restaurant is a typical Oriental style restaurant, not high class but clean and presentable, the employees are very friendly and welcoming. The big win is the food, for the first since being here from the UK this place has really great tasting asian food, highly recommend the salt and pepper shrimp. Quick take out time, ordered at restaurant and only waited about 20 minutes. Pricing is as expected about the normal. Vegetarian options: Some non meat options.
Big portion but chicken balls were overcooked qnd so oily. BBQ pork fried ice didnt contain much. Some sparse tiny pieces of pork and some peas. Didnt taste great.
The food was excellent and the staff was friendly, I loved the whole vibe of the place.
First time here food was good..best ginger beef...very tender rice was good chicken balls ok
Ordered a couple of combos - everything was delicious and portions generous. We had it delivered and was advised at the time that could take up to 1.5 hrs which was fine (thanks to previous comments, I decided to order early). Food arrived about an hour later. Not disappointed at all. Thank you Mei Wei Bistro!
Excellent food and great service! The food is always fresh and lots of flavour. My family s favourite Chinese to order from!
I ordered wonton noodles and stir-fried beef river, and it was okay! But it certainly can t compare with the ones in big cities! If you are hungry and want to eat Chinese food on the road, this is the only option, close to the highway heading towards Winnipeg! Jelly Lemon The tea is too sweet and has no lemon flavor!!!!
Good food Wide selection and good service
My husband s favourite Chinese restaurant! He absolutely loves it.
Ordered $100.00 of food. One hour wait. Nothing fantastic. We tried the chicken curry dish. In the beef with broccoli we found a staple. The pork chow mein noodles were half cooked in package. Ordered 6 spring rolls and was given 4 fortune cookies. Chicken balls & given tiny sweet sour sauce container. The bucket of white rice. The special fried rice. Just pork slice dish.
First time trying Mei Wei and it was amazing!!! Food is so fresh and flavorful. Best Chinese food in Regina!
Suburb food
Fortune cookie: Restaurant with marginal food and poor service will have no repeat business. The food was a bit pricy but decent portions with no filller. However the food was generally bland. The singapore noodles had no flavor at all. The ginger beef was good. Other dishes were adequate, but lacked any depth of flavour. Promised wait time of 45 minutes for pickup was actually 90 minutes! I can understand they were busy, but I certainly didnt appreciate waiting 45 minutes, after I arrived, in a crowded restaurant. A realistic estimate of wait time when ordering would have allowed me to decide if the wait was worth it. It wasnt.
Their Singapore noodles are delicious. You can ask for it extra spicy, if you like.
Good and friendly
Restaurant closed for holidays for a while. Call and make sure they are open before going to avoid disappointments as they havent updated their google.
Delicious, authentic Cantonese food! Regina the best
Great place for take outs and dine in. Not so sure about delivery, weve always picked up our orders. Polite staff, excellent speed with turning orders around, kind of child friendly, and the staff take great pictures when you ask them. Ive only been here when I had a big deal day out and they havent ruined it for me. Yet.
Great authentic Cantonese food! You cannot go wrong with this restaurant!
Good food
Love this place. Food is always amazing
The food was absolutely delicious I ve been looking for a good Chinese Cantonese restaurant in Regina and this is all time the best. I don t really eat ribs but wow they were so awesome the chicken balls were so awesome and everything was very fresh
Excellent!!! Always good quick and ready for pickup on time
Hadnt eaten here before. Blown away by the quality and flavvppor of the food here. The #13 on the lunch menu is next level! My new fave!!
As most of you know, I am very particular about Chinese or any other type of food. Mei Wei has exceeded all of my expectations! Ive had the combination meals and the Shanghai Noodle dish and I was not disappointed!!! You got a huge portion and the fod is very flavorful and each time I leave, I want more! Might have to expand my palate and try another dish. All I can say is you go, you wont be disappointed!!!!
Very disappointing orders are never ready for pickup even when pre ordering with plenty of time. They are always very short staffed. Food is pretty good but their disorganization is enough for me to stop patronizing and go to Peking House in future.
Excellent food, clean restaurant and great staff. More then enough food when eating in or take out!
What a great experience! I had the egg rolls, dumplings and chow mein with crispy noodles. Huge portions and so delicious! The service was outstanding. Also had the Taro bubble tea with mango boba. Super freshing. Ill be back for more for sure. Thank you so much!
Best canadian style Asian food in the south end.
Loved it!
We ordered the dinner for 4a, with large wor wonton and extra pork fried rice. The food portions were very generous. The food was the best Asian cuisine weve had since moving to Regina. We will be repeat customers! I especially loved the soup.
Great service with courteous and friendly staff. Excellent fresh ingredients used in all dishes on the menu. Delicious!!
Wayne makes the BEST Chinese food in Southern Saskatchewan. Hands down. Tastiest dishes Ever. Thanks for the great meals!!!
Food was ok. Service was good. Very fast and lots of it.
Fast fresh, friendly...all the things you want in a restaurant like this. I came in randomly for a take out order, told me 0 minutes and was ready to go in maybe 20. Pricing is very reasonable. The food itself is great tasting.
Delicious large servings
Sunday noon waited for 1 hour and ask waiteress why it takes so long .she said were coming as a group. If youre hungry and wants to eat right away. Stay away from this place on sunday noon
Great food fast service.
Food is good. Near to my hotel. Fast service. Be aware that they dont open on Tuesday.
I like to order their 2 or 3 special meats meal (with rice and vegetables). Traditional southern Chinese food.
We came here for the first time last weekend. Was it ever worth it! The lemon chicken was crispy and juicy on the inside. The ginger beef was the best I have ever tasted. We got a number of other dishes and they were fantastic as well. The service was friendly and the dining room seemed clean. We will be coming back.
Delicious food. We ordered take out - breaded almond prawns, chicken ginger, Singapore noodles and chicken with mixed vegetables and steamed rice. It was ready in half an hour. Very courteous staff. Good value for money.
This is my top choice for Chinese food! Always fresh and so tasty!
I think Ive been out punned here. Was that name intentional? mais oui!
First visit. Truly Excellent hot and sour soup, really tasty and full of good stuff. Salt and pepper shrimp was delicious and shrimp were a good size. I appreciate fresh soft steamed rice and this was the best Ive had in a long while. Ill be ordering again. Steamed buns were not available due to the bakers being off because of covid-19. I appreciated that the pleasant lady who waited on me wore a mask, as did I.
Fantastic authentic Chinese restaurant. Its a hidden gem in Regina.
waiting time is too long. I waitted close to 40 min and the food is still not ready yet.
The dish head rice is good, but other dishes are average. If you want to eat some fast food, it is a good choice, but if you want to have a good meal, you may not choose this place.
Mei Wei is the best bang for your buck Chinese food joint in Regina. Not only do you get staggering food portions, you get the best tasting Chinese food in Regina. Best bang for your buck. Cant recommend Mei Wei enough.
A little pricey but very good food. Good portions as well.
Great service and even better food!
Great little place with good food!
Excellent Chinese food. I will go back again to make sure its consistent. If it Is, this will likely become my favorite Chinese food restaurant in Regina.
Food is more expensive than other Asian places, lots of batter, small spring rolls, and wait was about 35 minutes.
Very good food at an affordable price.
Good food
Delicious! Their fresh baking is awesome! My favourite dishes are their salt and pepper squid and ginger chicken.
Mei Wei is always a 5/5. We are regulars and not enough can be said about the incredible food and staff! Love them all!
Good food and service. Can be busy at lunch sometimes so make sure you have time. They have Chinese meals, Id say their better dishes. Soups are okay, I like the wor wonton here. The pictures show the beef ball soup, and order of Vietnamese spring rolls.
Cantonese Chow Mein and salt and pepper pork!
Usually great food and great friendly service. Just average today.
Typical Chinese restaurant but with terrible customer service. We waited half an hour to place an order and another hour to get the food served on our table by a condescending server. Not only that the service is slow but also they are not friendly at all. I find this restaurant overrated but the food are not that good, way too greasy than other Chinese restaurants I have been.
Food is good but the service could be better. Never order delivery. I had tried and the lady asked if I could pay cash otherwise she wouldn t know how long it would take for the delivery. She said she didn t know when one of her drivers would be dropping off his current order and that he was the one with the debit machine. I have ordered delivery a couple times before this and it was always more than an hour and I live in south Regina. So for those that don t live in the south end, this would be an inconvenience to most as I don t think anyone would be willing to travel across town for an order.
Great Service!!
Good food
Good food always.
Wonderful Take away food! We also enjoy coming here for date nights, the staff is friendly and hard working and the food is always done in such a fast time. Me and my husband are big fans of the Sliced BBQ Pork and their chicken Low Mein. Great food for a great price!
Really good
Delicious food and friendly staff. The menu is big with some popular Chinese dishes.
The best tasting Chinese food in Regina in my opinion.
Wonton soup is NOT good. No flavour at all and only had 1 piece of broccoli. Fresh rolls had rotten iceberg lettuce in them. Wouldn t recommend.
Such delicious food and the staff there are great. Also being able to preorder your meal is such a great option.
I loved the lamb hot pot. And the wonton soup was perfect for my hungover.
I love their salted fish fried rice! This was what caught my attention 6 years ago and to this day it tastes great. I always order it when we eat there or order take out. Wait times are reasonable in my opinion. The food is served fresh and hot. Their three meat plate is a good choice when you want to sample their different offerings. Husband loves the ginger beef and their soups. Their staff are nice and the place is clean. Only thing negative is parking. It can be hard to find a spot since theyre part of a strip mall.
3 meat plate is a great option and everything is flavorful
They have very authentic Guangdong food. Like their special duck, pork, seafood...... the portion is large, and price are fairly affordable. It s very good Chinese food experience when you are tired of Canadian-Chinese buffet and your friends do not want spicy Chinese food.
Great portion sizes, good prices, and delicious food! Friendly staff, too!
Best Chinese food in Regina only Chinese food restaurant that I go to when I come to Regina Hong Kong style food
Ive been looking for a place that sold Low Mein like I had when I was a child and found it here.
Always love this
Really really great Chinese food
Great food, great service and the staff was friendly.
Better than jimmies in Carlyle.
Excellent vietnamese/thai food.
I love the taste of their most dishes, but their price a little bit higher compared with other Chinese restaurants
nice place great food
Such good food! I would recommend the singapore noodles!! The food is always fresh!
BBQ pork was really delicious, staff were very polite and helpful at explaining the menu
Okay food.
Famous for Cantonese food
Best Chinese restaurant in Regina. Very good food, excellent portion sizes, and great staff. Very clean and well maintained restaurant.
Best Chinese restaurant in Regina! Fantastic service, great tasting food and very clean environment. They fresh bakery is simply an added bonus
The service is never good. They are always busy.
Very good service and excellent food / so happy that this restaurant in the neighbourhood.
Food and service was okay but food was luke warm at best
It was pure luck that we stumbled across this restaurant. Being from out of town we were skeptics of the reviews, but they were spot on. This is the best chinese I have ever had! EVER! Reasonable priced and the portion sizes were large. Service was top notch and quick. Will definitely visit again next time we are in town.
Always great food - eat in or take out
Comments are really strict hahaha
While walking over to DollarRama I stepped into the Mei Wei Bistro. Wanted to try it for years...it didnt disappoint. I ordered Shrimp Fresh Rolls and a small bowl of Noodle Wonton soup. The server even told me what it was.. even though I knew. Its an Awesome broth..its shrimp and pork Base...I already knew as I make it. The wontons were a bit on the small side. Pork and shrimp blend which I also used to make. Lots of noodles. Ive been having stomach issues for months but this went down well. Price for the 2 dishes..$15. I only wish they had used baby Bock Choy instead of broccoli..but it was tender. Service was friendly, helpful and fast.
All i can is Salt and Pepper Shrimp and a bowl of Rice. MMMMM!!!
Love this place. Great service and great food each time we have been there. More authentic then most also.
Always awesome
Order - wait - more than 1 hour for take out? Not happy! Food is good = 10, services = 0!!!
Ordered delivery and the food was disgusting the ginger beef was dry, some mystery meat in the mixed vegies tasted like dirty socks, and the chicken fried rice was tasteless.
Great food and good service. The wait was a bit long but it worth it. Definitely try it with a group of people so you can order multiple dishes and share.
Great food and great prices. Pick up your food much quicker than waiting 30min-1hr for delivery
Good food but service is slow
Best chinese food in town! I usually get Singapore noodles or bbq duck and crispy pork on rice
Authentic Canto food.
