Lakeshore Restaurant in Regina

This is the second year we have held our company Christmas party at the Lakeshore and it was fantastic! The food was awesome starting with the appetizer platters, down to the mains which were all served hot and all together for 27 people...how do they do it??!! And add to that the excellent service from Nancy, Juanita and Sue! They were so attentive and friendly which just added to the amazing experience! Everyone there agreed it was a great night! Thank you Paul, Nancy, Juanita, Sue and all the support staff.....see you next year!

A quiet and relax atmosphere for a enjoyable dining experience

Went here last night to celebrate our 15th anniversary. Couples around us were asked if they were celebrating anything and then offered free cheesecake for birthdays and anniversaries. We barely saw our server. We were not asked if we were celebrating anything. Wasn t asked if I wanted a second drink, which I did but wasn t able to get. Just terrible service. We will not be returning because of the lack of good service and lack of interest of us even being customers after we spent close to $200

The food was okay, not great. The service was horrible -- waiter constantly gave drinks and dishes to the wrong people. The decor was really tired and run down ... I felt like I was in a wood panelled basement bar from 1973, but not in a good way. We had a picky eater with us, and she wasnt accomodated. The waiter made it seem like the menu was immutable. Not cool. This place had its day, but really needs a refresh. Dietary restrictions: Wouldnt accomodate.

A perfect place to celebrate! We called ahead, asked for a nice table for two, for a celebration. Greeted with the warmth of their cozy fireplace, perfectly set. Great selection of wine, we went with Stags Leap Investor; a lovely Napa Valley red. Started with shrimp cocktail, and for our main, choose the chateaux for two; served and done to perfection. Wrapped up with the chocolate torte and a port. Paul, Nancy and Juanita ensured every detail was perfect, what and exceptional experience!

Always love this place. We dont go out for fine dining very often but when we do this is our first choice. Food selection is wonderful, preparation is right on. Service is always attentive but not overwhelming. Prices, for fine dining are pretty decent. You can also pick up gift cards at Costco to help lower the cost ($80.00/$100.00 gift cards. In my mind the decor is from the 70s. It is well kept and clean.

Great food, quiet atmosphere, excellent service

This is a hidden gem. People who live locally never recommended this place. Exterior looks ghetto, but the interior looks like 70s class. Food was outstanding. Strawberry salad dressing is fresh. Never been to a place where a server brings optional mashed potato Toppings. Even their house wines are nice. Got a half litre white and red wines and it Enhanced the meal significantly. Excellent escargot. Delicious deep fried ice cream. Would recommend this to anyone.

Took my girlfriend there for her birthday supper and food, service and overall experience was over the top as it has been every time that I have dined there. Also went for a birthday supper again and everything was marvelous.

Rather disappointing service. Steak was undercooked and the server came back with multiple excuses and blamed us for the undercooked steak. For the price not worth returning.

The food at Lakeshore Restaurant was amazing as always, and our waitress was attentive and friendly. However, the service was slower than expected, especially for a Thursday night. It took over an hour to receive our entrees, salads, and meals for three people. While the quality of the food never disappoints, the wait time was a bit frustrating this visit.

The service was the best part of this restaurant, truly awesome. The food was okay, nothing special. The atmosphere although vintage and well decorated, was stuffy and dusty.

Great Venue. Good food, service is not great. They seat you and then expect you to wait 40 mins for a server to visit your table. I understand when the place is packed but when there was only 4 tables occupied. The server literallly ignored us and socialized. We left and went to District Bar and Restaurant and received prompt great service. It is Fall and I live at Cultas lake so the slow mo lake life thing doesnt play when you come in with hungry kids on a non-busy night. I might not be back.

Always fantastic. Came in for our 45th anniversary and the wifes 65th birthday. Our server, Nansoula, was great. Very courteous, very prompt. She treated us very well. The salads were great, the steak was to die for, and the lobster tails were very nice. Well definitely be back again.

Was overall good experience

My wife and I had another wonderful meal at the Lakeshore Restaurant tonight. My prime rib was excellent and my wife claimed her salmon (with sambuca sauce) was the same. We are never disappointed with either the food or atmosphere when we attend. Thanks for another nice evening.

This place is amazing and has been for decades. We live in another province but make a point of dining here whenever we pass through Regina. Anything weve tried here has been absolutely fantastic. The steaks are truly the best quality and they always get our preferences right. Not cheap but great quality never is. The service has always been perfect, the staff are attentive, Weve been stopping here for more than 30 years and have never been disappointed.

Great New York steak, lemon potatoes and Greek salad. Service was excellent. Highly recommended this restaurant for supper. Parking: Number of parking spots in front of the restaurant and plenty of spots in the parking lot immediately west of the restaurant.

I have been there many times over the last 40 years. The service and food have always been top notch. The Best. But the last 6 times we have went. 4 times the service was very slow and things not done proper and 2 times the food was very sub par. The last time, the 2 lobster tails we had were rubbery and dry, over cooked. This was the worst group of visits in 40 years.

My meal was cooked perfectly! Flavour was spot on! Service was excellent. Will definitely go there again.

Very nice restaurant, with a unique style inside. Food is delicious. Its a bit pricey. And, too, me was too chill inside, but they do have rooms with fireplace, consider it when making a reservation. Food

Prime rib was seasoned with cloves! Awful! Overpowered the whole meal as the jus ran into everything. Manager is proud of this dish because he cooked it. Save your money. Eat elsewhere. Restaurant has gone way downhill.

Everything was excellent

My wife and I have been together for 9 years, each year we would try a new restaurant on our anniversary. Last year we tried Lakeshore Restaurant and this year we went back! I think its safe to say we found our anniversary restaurant. Thank you for the 2nd year of great service and amazing food ps, the cheesecake is to die for!

If you want to step back in time and have an amazing meal this is the place to go, I took my wife for our Anniversary. The lobster Tail was one of the best cooked I have had ever, and the Greek ribs are amazing, looking for a place for a date night this is the place!!!

I sent my Dad a gift card for his birthday so that my mom and him could enjoy a nice supper. There was an error with the third party gift card company and the gift card wasn t received. I could not get a hold of the company so I called the restaurant directly. The lady who answered the phone was unsure about what to do but was very kind and helpful. She was able to get a hold of the owner, who called me while he was on vacation, and he took care of everything! My parents enjoyed their supper a lot, and it was a great experience. Excellent customer service!

Very exquisite filet, fresh & lovely salad - I loved the honey basil dressing. Service was excellent. 18 oz Rib Steak also pictured.

We ordered the date night special. Our appetizers were escargot. They were very mushy and tasteless. Thank goodness we had garlic toast with it which was good. The second course was salad. It was fresh. Our third course was prime rib and new york steak. They were both done to perfection. We ordered cheese cake for dessert which was very good. Service was excellent.

The restaurant reminded me of that long lost aunt and uncles house, you know, the ones you barely knew as a kid and you visited them once at like Christmas, and you had to hang out in the basement the whole time because they didn t trust you with a juice on the upstairs furniture. I like the stained glass and the interior windows! The garden salad was iceberg lettuce with 3 slices of carrot and 3 of cucumber on top. But maybe that s all garden salad is? The dressing was fire though.

It is nice service and reasonable prices. We just went a bit overwhelming for the every 5 minutes questions about how is everything?

Best food, price and service. Atmosphere is excellent too.

Needs a update to the interior

Overall experience was sub par to say the least. initial impression was that the booth was very grungy with dust and grime along ledge of table and booth. Started off with escargot and Greek ribs. escargot was very average and they essentially sent out a small bowl full of bones to represent the ribs. Went with the Alfredo and pepper steak for entrées. Alfredo would have been better off with a jar of sauce from the save on from across the street and a quick air fried chicken. chicken presented was dry and overcooked. Pretty sure my steak was left over roast ends as it came pre-cut, non uniform pieces and drowned in cold bbq sauce. Would be a lot more dissapointed if we didnt have gift cards. Time and money better spent elsewhere.

With our first date night in over a year my husband and I decided to go to Lakeshore for dinner. The food was amazing but our waitress seemed unfriendly, maybe in a bad mood but showed it. We looked elsewhere and saw other waiters and waitresses behaving friendly. Seemed like out whole experience was rushed, we were in and out in and out in 45 minutes. One of those nights you wanted to tip the chef instead of the waitress. Not trying to be sensitive but it was my husband who suggested that it definitely killed our night.

Great atmosphere. Absolutely the worst steak Ive ever eaten. And Ive eaten some bad ones.

Service by Mindy at Lakeshore restaurant was exemplary. She gave excellent service with a warm friendly smile with the upmost upbeat attitude. We were well received and with the most gracious attention and she kindly looked after us at our table. She made us laugh and made our time at Lakeshore memorable. I highly recommend to ask for Mindy if you take a table at Lakeshore. Meal Prime Rib was succelent tender and juicy 14 once of flavorful medium rare beef goodness. Also had a onion soup cook to perfection with cheese top base in a flavourful.

First time here. We had the date night special. Garlic toast was brought to the table. It was burnt but did not taste absolutely terrible. My husband liked the clam chowder, my dry ribs were bland, salads were a bit watery. Husband said the pepper steak was very good. I had the shrimp for my main and it was very fishy tasting. The deep fried icecream was the best part of the meal. One of the waitresses had a pepper mill. Our waiter did not. We were not asked if we wanted fresh pepper. Not the best food in Regina but I will give it another chance.

Had a meeting nearby and stopped for lunch. AMAZING!!! There was a lot of us (Sorry) but food was so good and staff were great! Cannot wait to go back! Beef Tenderloin Kabob was perfect! And those cooked vegetables! So good!!!

This is the 3rd time in a row we had the same waitress and its been the same every time! Not sure why she is the way she is! We wont sit in her section again!!! Had other waitresses that were soooooo friendly - not her!!

Tried to order a supper for my wife and I. Person who answered the phone was short and didnt really answer my questions. Lastly when I went to order she told me that wasnt an option tonight. Waste of 5 mins of my life.

Good food. Safe place to eat during Covid. Busy Valentines evening but food and service was great.

Best fish and chips there is more fish than breading, which is very rare. Best fish & chips that Ive ever tried in Regina. Most of the time, I end up taking off the breading if there is too much. This is my first time not having to remove the breading or any of it. I just received this through Uber Eats I am very happy with cooks and just the restaurant in general. Thank you so much and have a goodnight.

Great atmosphere and excellent service with awesome food.

Retro style I like it. Chairs are uncomfortable to sit in and one of my dinner mates chair was just straight up broken. Food was delicious, pasta portions were spot on for a pasta fiend like myself.

The food was very good. Coat check is a nice touch. Service was a little slow, but that didnt take away from my dining experience. The restaurant itself could use a renovation a little outdated. Overall, it was worth the price. The staff was very friendly, and I would definitely come back to try something new on the menu.

The quality of the food was very good: the steak perfectly cooked, the lobsters were gigantic! The server was nice and friendly. I would suggest to update the furniture and cutlery.

Best steak in town

I can see why people may enjoy this restaurant, it s very charming and has this romantic feeling to it, however it was my first time stepping foot in lakeshore and right off to the start I wasn t fully impressed with the hostess/waitress, we waited and we were over looked by another couple even though we arrived ahead which wasn t the end of the world but she had such attitude the whole time, not very friendly or approachable, I understand you can have a bad night or a rough day but it wasn t it pleasant.

Horrible service and rude waitress, went there first time. Saw the special outside and wanted to try it. Came as a group of 9 and didnt know it was 6 max. Tried to accommodate with 6 doing it and 3 order from the menu. Waitress denied us and took the special menu from us.

Somethings never change, and thats a good thing

I haven t been there in a few years. We went for Easter supper tonight. It seems to be a hit or miss depending on the day of the week you go. I have had good, I have had bad there. Personally it s not a place I would pick but I can always find something on the menu.

The steak was not tasty. It was plain. The service was not good. It took a while for the wait staff to take our order. They barely came around. They did not give us the drink menu.

Have been going there for years. Excellent food, wonderful service. It is truly a restaurant that cares about its customers. Whatever you order, you get plenty. Most meals come with fresh Vegetables, Salad, Toast. Service has always been excellent. Warm, relaxing atmosphere. Try it once, youll go back.

Used this restaurants drive-thru window to pick up a supper order. The food was packaged with care and tasted delicious. I ordered the Greek chicken with garden salad and roasted lemon potatoes, and for dessert the chocolate almond torte. I didnt have cutlery in the bag, I forgot to ask for it. Fortunately, my hotel provided a plate and cutlery upon my arrival to my hotel.

Attended a large anniversary function. Held in a back room that I didn t even know existed. Was too hot and crowded in that room. But the servers were very attentive and quick and the food was delicious.

Unfriendly male server at lunch. No happiness, no cheerful smiles or thanks for coming in. When we said thank you quite a few times during our meal he wouldnt say nothing back, maybe a yup but no youre welcome. Sometimes nothing. . No smiles, yet pointed out that tips can not be used for gift cards but I can leave cash! Who said I wanted to leave a tip?! Food good as always, decor classy cool vintage!

My boyfriend and I are our first time at Lakeshore restaurant. Nice place, the ambiance is great. We ordered the date night four course dinner for two. The food tastes good. P.S. The salad is not in the picture.

We had the most amazing Shrimp Scampi and cheese toast! The flavours were so well thought out. The steaks were beautifully cooked. I did not enjoy the peppercorn sauce, as it tasted more of rouix, than of beef. Loved the button mushrooms tgat were included! The frozen strawberry cheesecake was absolutely delightful!

One of the better fine dining experiences me and my family has had in Regina for similar type food. The Date night special they provide is one of the best valued deals you can get and the portion sizes are shocking, in a good way. The clam chowder was awesome.

Im not usually one to put a local business on blast, but heads up to anyone dining at the Lakeshore Restaurant. After letting them know my dinner mate had a serious nut allergy, they served us a dessert covered in chopped walnuts. I noticed before my date actually ate any himself, but he started to tingle all the same so we knew we had to leave. Weak apologies from the server and zero acknowledgement or apologies from the management (didnt even wave goodbye as we scurried out hoping to avoid anaphylaxis). Oh, but they did give us $10 off the bill, ONLY after I asked since we had to leave 2 full glasses of wine behind while we rushed out to make sure my date remained able to breath. I get mistakes happen, but for a restaurant to oh well and shrug off the fact they could have seriously injured or killed him makes me think this is definitely not the place anyone should dine.

My feedback for the Salmon I ordered with potatoes. Salmon was not salted at all, tasted bland and dry. Very disappointing to receive the quality for the price. I mean I can make it better, like seriously. Adding salt on top after it is cooked is not the same.

It was good my wife didnt enjoy her meal all together but overall it was good. Id recommend to go here.

Dinner for 2 Appies- ribs= good Clam chowder= really good- recommend House salad= dissapointing- lettce with 3 slices of cucumber and carrots House dressing- was okay Main- stuffed potatoes- good Mixed veggies- good Steak- cooked perfect to the way I ordered. But missing something- not seasoned Dessert- deep fried ice cream- if u like coconut I would recommend. But I do not like coconut. If I knew it had coconut I would have got the other choice.

Food was just ok. Escargot were bad. Clam chowder and deserts were good. Steak was just ok. Was disappointing online offered kids meals with steak for $16 got there and were told that was discontinued so ended up paying $50+ for each kid to eat (both under 12). Will say our waitress was very good. Normally look forward to Lakeshore however have to say overall it was disappointing.

I got the feta stuffed chicken with lemon potatoes. Made gluten free. It was really good! I think next time I will get the baked potato though. They were able to make the lemon potatoes gluten free and Im not sure if its made the same as non gluten free things and it was good, just not my flavour for potato. The atmosphere was wonderful, definitely first date potential. The only bummer was it took over 15 minutes from when we asked for the bill to receive it. But I think its because they looked to be short staffed, they were training someone while I was there though. But definitely lots of large tables there which definitely if theres only one server at that table that they would take precedent over a table for two. Dietary restrictions: They have a decent selection of gluten free options, the waiter seemed to be aware of the importance of it and I didnt get sick after eating it. So the kitchen was aware and clearly had the right precautions in place.

Lakeshore is one of those restaurants that is stuck in time somewhere - personally I find that absolutely delightful. This is a fancy restaurant for people who find fancy restaurants intimidating. We started with a bottle of wine and shrimp cocktail - for $15, the 5 shrimp were just under frozen and there wasnt much cocktail sauce. I think it would have improved if the shrimp were more defrosted - you want that fresh seafood brininess and the weird spongey bounce and that is muted if they are too cold. The garlic bread was delicious, but they could bring it up a notch by making their own bread - it seemed like this was a take n bake style bread. Next, I had the 6oz filet mignon with house salad and baked potato. The house salad was rather sad - shredded iceburg lettuce with two cucumbers and two carrots. I would have liked to see some slivered radishes, segmented fruit pieces, or something else to make it special. The house dressing is really tasty though. For the streak, mine was cooked SUPERBLY - sometimes I get a little nervous ordering medium rare as it sometimes comes more medium, but it was super tender and lovely. Seasoning was absolutely perfect. Mixed veggies were tender and well seasoned as well; everything managed to still have bite while being perfectly cooked. I would have liked to potentially see more caramelization on them, since steamed veggies are a little old school? But no complaints. My baked potato was slightly under where I like to make them myself. It was not tender enough to be fluffy but still be cooked and hold together. Inoffensive in all, and the toppings offered were delicious. My only real complaint was that the béarnaise sauce that I ordered on the side was clearly a packet mix and a fairly bad one at that - béarnaise should be a wine reduction with shallots, tarragon, and vinegar mixed with eggs and butter. This was... emulsified butter. It brought none of the tangy, licorice-y bite that I was looking for. All in all, I found this a good steak restaurant but not a great one. To be 5 star, I would want to see this place make an effort to bring flavor in every element and make things from scratch. This was not that kind of establishment and Im okay with that! The more casual atmosphere made up for the minor missteps, and I genuinely will come back for their Date Night Special as it looks like a massively good deal. Can I suggest having a dessert that is not milk based? My husband is lactose intolerant and cant do either cheesecake or ice-cream without making my life extremely unpleasant after dinner ;)

Went to the Lakeshore for our 50th wedding anniversary and ordered the Date Night offering, which is a four course meal. I asked our server if the baclava (which used to be offered) could be subsisted since it was a special occasion. The answer was no. Speaking with the manager later, the answer was still no I would have thought they could have done this as saying congratulations on your special day.

The food was ok but expensive. The service wasnt outstanding and the wait for the food was long. The restaurant is very dark and the decor is dated. I wouldnt go out of my way to eat here again.

Fantastic meal. Cant believe after all these years in the area that we had never eaten here. From the appetizers (calamari, escargot, Greek dry ribs) to the steaks to the frozen ice cream dessert. All was amazing. And finally, fantastic service. Attentive but not always at the table. We will be back.

Somewhat disappointed. Here was my experience. The parking lot was full of pot holes, and was difficult to navigate. The building itself was old and inside it looked like it was left in the 1980s. I bet at one time this was the best place in town. Service was ok, polite and professional. Nothing spectacular 5 out of 10. I ordered steak and lobster. The lobster tails were excellent, the steak however was a fail. For a steak house - its got to be better. I was expecting so much more but this place has descent service and an average meal.

Excellent place to eat

Had an absolutly delicious dinner tonight. We finally made it out to celebrate our 48 years of marriage.

We had the date night special I wasnt really blown away by the mains or the sides best part was the deep-fried ice cream. My wifes ribeye tasted great though. I had the ny and it was a very small cut

Took four granddaughters out for dinner on a Monday night that turned out to be quite busy. Food was great as usual and even though it was a bit slow, the service was perfect for our group.

Excellent lunch specials and great service. Just the right amount of food. Not too much, not too little. It might not be everyones cup of tea, but this is Regina soul food at its finest.

The place was busy and service was a little slow but the food made up for it. Good ceasar salad followed by 8 oz mignon. Delicious! Perfect medium rare. The stuffed potato was also delicious as well as the mushrooms. I really enjoyed the meal! Great steak!

Great Ambience

Hotter than anything. Eaten here often and for many years andt was TERRIBLE . They did give a discount but it was a very bad experience. We will probably never go back.

We to pick up food that was ordered and drove up to the pickup window. Waited for several minutes which was fine but then gave the restaurant a call. Some one came to the window and told me they did not have the order, she had said that she will check with the kitchen and apparently the kitchen had the order but didn t tell anyone which I find weird. Still continued to wait for my order when a different lady came to the window and asked if I ve been helped and I said yes they are finding my order. Still continued to wait another 3-5 min and then I think was a manager or owner came to the window asking if my order was under a name and I said no then he said oh cause we have several orders for the same steak and want to make sure we get it right. Finally we got the order and when o got back home I found the $35 of 1/2 pound crabs legs we ordered along with the steak was maybe $15 worth of crab and the butter was thrown all over the container. Overall I think there customer service has gone downhill and lack of communication is terrible.

This place knows what it is, and what they do, they do well. Old school, Greek-Canadian steakhouse fare, well executed. Dont go there for ultra-modern or innovative (although they do serve deep fried ice cream!), but go for classics done right. Service was friendly and attentive. Prime rib - impeccable. Steaks, tender, flavourful, and cooked to perfect temps. Sides were on point. Escargot (yeah, its the kind of place you SHOULD have that retro-classic app!) - best Ive ever had. Cocktails well-executed. Just reliably good.

Consistently great food and great service!

Was very good. Only thing I was disappointed with was the French onion soup. It tasted great and had great flavour but didnt have the cheese melted on the soup. Got a peice of cheese toast instead (1st time ever seeing this). The best part of the soup is the melted cheese and picking off the burnt cheese off the side of the bowl.

Lakeshore has become the go-to place for my husband and I in the past year. We go at least once about every 6 weeks. We absolutely love the date night special, and I only just discovered that they have a punch card for that which is super cool! The ambiance theyve created and mood theyve set is a romantic one. Its definitely a place to go to dress up for your special someone (or down if thats your groove!) Ive never seen children eating here, and to be honest, I dont recommend this place as a family establishment. While Im certain that the amazing staff would be more than accommodating, the feel for this place does not seem to cater to the kiddos. This is a date night place for sure! You feel the romance hit you like a glass wall when you walk in the door, and from the minute you sit, youre waited on like royalty. The food, drinks, wait staff, etc. 12/10 I recommend. Very classy place!
