I ordered a strawberry milkshake and it was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is great and brings you back to simpler times with their retro 1950 s diner.

I think the food is overpriced. The drinks are overpriced also. And $3.50 for a small bowl of gravy?! The burgers and toasted bun are good. Fries are ok, but lots of end pieces. What I really found disappointing was the cleanliness. We sat by the window, and you could see run marks down the wall. Windows are dirty. And there was lots of dead bugs, dirt and some crumpled napkins in between the window wall and the booth. Lots of dirty cords from what looked like curtain lights in the windows. The garbage outside was overfilling, bag falling inwards and wasps all over. Cute little bench outside had coffee rings on it. The wait staff is super friendly and happy to serve. Except the lady that just bussed the tables. Not friendly at all. No smile, no thank you or you re welcome. And when she came to take my mom s plate, she rudely said, You done!? Parking: Street parking in Cathedral is not always easy. But it is free! Bonus if spending $60+ for lunch.

The food was absolutely Amazing, had the mercury burger and poutine. OMG it was delicious , come with a big appetite if you are going to finish this meal. The only thing I would improve on is to use cheese curds instead of Mozza cheese cut into cubes. Also the cheese was not conditioned so it wouldnt melt. 10 outta 10 recommended this place. You will not be disappointed.

The Mercury Cafe is our Fave place for a classic meal for breakfast, lunch or supper! All the staff are on their toes, prompt and friendly. The food is exceptional all while leaving you feeling like your in an old school Mom & Pops Dinner. Fresh, fast, friendly and TASTY! You cant beat that! Vegetarian options: Theres a veggie burger thats vegan as long as you have no mayo. Kind of a bean and rice burger with a little kick. Tofu and veggie scrambler on crispy little chippy hashbrown with toast, is vegan without the cheese! Wheelchair accessibility: Side door with ramp, fully accessible. Staff are happy to move a table or chair or really anything depending on your needs.

Not sure if it was an off day or just the style of burgers, but both mine and my husbands burgers were burnt, as was the bacon on my burger, and they tasted strongly of beef stock, some of the fries were quite tasty but some had a tad too much seasoning salt, the food was not entirely inedible, and we did finish our food, it just didnt seem to be as good as the reviews made us believe. Our server was polite despite being busy, but the lady walking around bussing tables and seating people had rushed us in, and then tried to take our plates while we were still eating.

Throw back to the days of vinyl... love it! Best milk shakes and onion rings. Great friendly atmosphere.

The Best burger in Regina!!!

If I could give the service more stars, I would. It was unreal. I have not received service like that in a long time, if ever. The staff was great with my 4 year old, the food came out quick, and everything was delicious. 10 out of 10, this is my families new spot.

I love the burgers and poutine. I think both are the best in the city and the burger is not full of fillers in the meat like the mainstream burger chains. I also dont feel sick after eating. Since my original post, we went back on a Sunday April 14th to have breakfast. My family had breakfast and I had a burger and poutine. First of all, loved walking in to hear my kind of music being played...Bob Dylan, Neil Young, etc. Wasnt too long of a wait. But my poutine arrived cold. The curds werent even melted. Cold fries and gravy. This was not good at all. My burger was still good but the bun was burnt and the bacon was almost burnt. It was busy there, which I can understand but the cold poutine was a real turnoff. Then before we left, the overzealous Asian lady was rudely taking all of our condiments before we were done. We had a stack of clean unused napkins and she took them and threw them out on top of the dirty dishes! She was also cleaning the table of a couple with children and getting in their way before they could leave. Ive never seen anything like it before. Clean the table after people leave, not before. I dont think I would go back on a weekend ever again.

Got my food . Was surprised that my hashbrowns were actually. Potatoe chips . 2/3 of my meal I ate by hand . The eggs were the only food I needed a utensil for .

Stopped in for lunch, as we were craving a hot hamburger sandwich, and I knew we would find one on their menu. Best hot hamburger sandwich ever! Home made burger, cooked perfectly! We both enjoyed our meal, and our server gave us great service with a friendly smile. We will definitely will be back!

My wife and I had a great experience here - food was excellent and service was wonderful. But dont order the nachos - not really worth it IMO.

Ive heard good things about this place so I thought Id give it a try. The food was average, kinda small portions. The service couldve been better if they had more than one waiterress working. She was busy and definitely needed help. The atmosphere of the place is awesome. Parking: Im not sure if its ok to park in the Safeway parking lot but thats where I parked since there was no other place to park

Came in during lunch rush and had good service and food. It is a hopping place during the lunch rush. Had the beef dip which was a good choice since I had a late breakfast and kind of still full from that when I walked in the door.

My friend and I went to the Mercury Cafe & Grill for the first time ever. It was so great for a couple of senior citizens to walk into this retro, and welcoming cafe. It was very busy in the restaurant. I never noticed anybody being neglected or ignored. The staff were all welcoming and smiling. All around superb environment. Our food was great, too. No complaints by either of us and we plan to return. I am sure, like me, my friend has been telling everybody about Mercury Cafe & Grill. Honestly, I do not think 5 stars is enough for how the atmosphere, food and service provided to us was during our visit.

The food was delicious, fresh, hot. The service was great! We just came in at a time that was a bit chaotic. No fault of the servers. My drinks were frequently refilled, the servers were outgoing and attentive, and the atmosphere was very inviting. Their breakfast options are good, and all day! Reasonably priced meals, with lots of variety. Kid-friendliness: Good place to take the kids if youre just looking for a fast meal with a welcoming environment

I went to Mercury cafe when my friends suggested the place. We are pure vegetarians, so limited options for us - ordered Nachos and strawberry milkshake. The food was good and good portions. If more vegetarian items get added up to the menu, that would be great for vegan & vegetarian people.

It was very busy at the restaurant today and the two servers definitely did their best to keep things running smoothly. All of our meals were good. The beef in the beef dip was a little on the dry side. I would come back though.

This is your classic local. Should be your breakfast place of choice in Cathedral.

Best burger and fries. Instead of getting a mint when you get your bill, you get a double bubble..bubble gum. Excellent.

Sadly, more run down than it used to be, expensive for what it is and not a lot of selection. The staff were excellent and efficient.

I wanted to like it so bad. It s an iconic location in Regina and I was excited. However I am so disappointed. It was extremely expensive for less than mediocre food. The burger was a decent size but it wasn t special, there were basically no fries and the milkshake was just milk nothing about it was a milkshake. I d rather just go spend $30 at McDonald s.

The burgers are great. Breakfast is also really good here. All of their dishes are we proportioned and all very tasty.

Best eggs benny my husband has ever had. I have yet to meet a dish I didnt like.

Best restaurant in sask!

Went to grab a quick burger after work, 2 adults with 1 child. Couldn t believe the bill was $80. We upgraded to onion rings for the up charge and each got about 6 rings. My daughter got a chocolate milk, her meal alone was $22 for a kids meal?! Onion rings were under cooked, the meat was over cooked. Definitely very meh and absolutely not worth $80. Disappointed with the quality, quantity and the price tag.

I loved the feel of an original diner with home cooked food. Very friendly, down to earth feel from the staff! Definitely recommend to stop and eat here!

Went here for the 1st time tonight for supper. Looking for a local mom and Pop café .this did not disappoint It s a nostalgic 50s 60s diner awesome little spot reminds me of happy days diner on TV . Friday s special was fish and chips and for dessert, which was free by the way, made from scratch apple pie. so good ! the prices are quite reasonable and the beer is ice cold . Come support this place. It is great! It s in the Cathedral Area in Regina. Definitely recommend.

Was in town for a visit and stopped here for lunch. Had a simple sandwich with fries and was quite happy overall. The place is a bit run down and could use some slight refreshing but it still has its charms. I love the signage and checkered floor. Our waitress was super friendly and on the ball. Great place for a quick meal before carrying on with the day

The burgers are huge, and the food is decent. I dont mind spending the money for good food. Where this place failed for me was in the cleanliness department. My husband kept telling me not to look around. The floors were absolutely disgusting, they definately hadnt been swept in quite some time with dust bunnies, food, and wrappers lining the window wall underneath our table. That just left a bad taste in my mouth. They need to do a deep clean.

Wow, awesome place !!! Had the breakfast special. Omgish yummy . The fried potatoes were cooked, just perfect !!! You better order a side order!! The service was fast and friendly. Even in the very busy atmosphere. Loved the music in the background. The staff where very busy. I highly recommend you check it out. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures . Because I couldnt wait to dive in . I will definitely be back

Came here on the recommendation of a friend. The decor is old diner style, and it has honestly such a cool vibe. The staff are super friendly, and the menu is retro as well. The coffee was good. Had a chicken burger with twice fried fries and oh my god, they were amazing. Crispy and perfect. Everything about this experience was great- I would highly recommend. Parking: There s the Safeway lot across the street despite signs saying one hour parking, and side street parking.

I had the breakfast special and it was affordable and tasty. I highly recommend it

Service is great here. Fast and friendly and most importantly the orders are correct and delicious! I often ask for soft poached eggs and they nail the cook perfectly! I don t live in Regina but will be back here.

This is the 4th time Ive been to the Mercury in the past year. Previously the service was upbeat and quick, especially considering we had kids with us. Today the service REALLY disappointed!! VERY slow. We were seated before noon and it still took an hour in total, mostly due to our server forgetting. Luckily our 5 year old was patient and it was not an issue with her. Server should have been more aware, Im not asking for special treatment, just be AWARE and dont forget. Likely will not go back, even though it is close and the food was good. (Server did not offer bubble gum) :-(

The Mercury is a neighborhood icon at this point - after moving in a few blocks away, Ive eaten here approximately 20 times. Its a really consistent, lovely diner to have nearby. None of the food will blow your socks off, but its all perfectly good. I always recommend whatever they have on special for that week. Their milkshakes are also HUGE and enough for a meal all on their own. Also try their pies - made by another neighborhood legend. Im not sure what Cathedral would be without them

Loved the atmosphere, the Merc has been here for a long time, it may be a bit pricey compared to what most are use to, but honestly it is real food and you are paying for the experience of the nostalgic vibe and supporting a wonderful family

Good location, nice atmosphere, service was good but when I came for breakfast here it was meh. The homemade hash browns were terrible, so thinly sliced like eating chips. And the bacon was too dry. The cook needs to step their game up.

Five Stars! We decided to sit at the counter. I said to Hubby, we are now in a movie scene! But the Food! Delicious! Service was within 10mins of ordering! Club and salad for me. Burger and poutine for Hubby. Wonderful experience! Vegetarian options: We saw a meatless burger option. Shared a delicious Greek salad!

The food? To die for. The hollandaise sauce? Lights up your morning. The staff? Almost as good as the hollandaise sauce. I would highly recommend going here if you are a fan of staff that care for your needs even at their busiest, and their out of this world food. (Get it? Cause its space themed?)

Have been going here for years, but lately the food has seriously gone down hill. Bland, unseasoned beef on bread that is somehow both soggy and dry, rubbery mushrooms with no flavour, really sour tasting gravy. Im not the picky type at all, but this is one of the few times in my life that I wasnt even down to eat the food beyond a few bites, and ended up getting a refund. Unfortunately, I just cant recommend this place anymore in good conscience.

As in the past visits, Every one in the party was extremely pleased with the food, taste and portion...very friendly staff made the whole lunch a really good xperience....

Restuarant is in need of some repair, but covid has been rough on everyone. The atmosphere was fun. Had the in house made lemon rice soup and tuna sandwich for lunch one day, was very good. I will go back one day and try their milkshakes.

Waited for a long time for coffee. Waitress should come around or host several times and check to see if you want a refill. Should not take a server till you are done your meal to see if you want a refill for second cup of coffee

This restaurant shoukd be on diners and dives. Best homemade burger and fries in the city. And the ice cold coke in the glass bottle rocked followed by the best homemade apple cherry pie Ive ever tasted. If I could give it more stars I would. And the service.....out of this world.

I had a chicken burger on a lettuce for the bun and french fries. I like their homestyle french fries, they were cooked perfectly. Our food came out fast, which I appreciate, and I also like their vintage diner theme.

Close but no cigar so the fish & chips were average, the fish was hard to taste in what seemed like a pancake style batter? Mine was over cooked along with the fries. The higher cost of eating out has made encounters like this disappointing. Maybe stick to the regular menu. Good Luck.

Had the fish and chips. Very tasty. The tartar sauce, was delicious. The fish was tasty, not to greasy just right. Good gravy and tasty little salad. It was full, but still got good service.

Every experience Ive had at the Mercury has been great. The traditional breakfast is simple and delicious (and I love the weekday breakfast special pricing!), and the milkshakes are beyond delicious. The service is friendly and prompt, too. Ive been lucky enough to get window seats every time, which gives the added benefit of peoplewatching.

Decent looking retro styled diner. Heard a lot from local people and tried out. Felt a bit overpriced but that can be just me. The shop staff are welcoming and very friendly.

Love this little diner! Food is always excellent along with the service. A variety of breakfast to choose from. Lunch menu is equally as good. If you want a classic shake, you can get that here. They also serve alcohol (beer, wine and simple drinks)

The waitress (Han) was phenomenal. She was handling all the tables inside and out was commendable. Ive worked in the hospitality industry many years and her attitude and service was 2nd to none. The food we had was quite good, parking is easy will be back

Neat atmosphere and burgers were pretty good. Cokes in old school style glass bottles a neat touch, unfortunately they were somewhat warm... Make them ice cold and rating goes up.

No reservations needed. 4 of us had supper there. The fries are fabulous. Burgers are tasty. Denver sandwich yum. And the best server ever! Give that girl Hans a pat on the back. So nice and friendly and down to earth. Love her. You can eat outside also. The music is from the 50s and 60s. We heard Elvis and Roy Orbison. Absolutely loved it.

We have been to the Mercury for breakfast, lunch and dinner several times. It is a family favorite. Exactly what you are looking for in a diner, breakfasts, burgers and more! So far the service has also been awesome!

Elise was a fantastic server with a great attitude and the food and portions for breakfast was perfect. Order came out quickly and accurately. My friend who I went for breakfast with could not stop raving about the double blanched hashbrowns. I recommend trying HP Sauce on your eggs to spice up your breakfast!

Love this place! Their food is always great. Portions have gotten smaller since covid, but that is understandable considering most businesses havent made it. Awesome food, everything is homemade. Atmosphere is great. Staff is awesome. Five stars all the way through.

Super amazing Veggie Burger last night. And husband Loves the burgers!!! Kids enjoyed the coloring that was swiftly brought to them, and the waitress was So awesome!! Super friendly, although three waitresses were awesome. We called in before we went to check the menu and they were prompt and proactive ;) totally go again! And recommend. Vegetarian options: I honestly Loved the veggie burger. Thank God is wasnt Impossible brand, love that its homemade, and the grilled bun was delectable Dietary restrictions: Having a good veggie option definitely sets this place over the edge for me. Wasnt mediocre at all! Kid-friendliness: The kids menu was easy, and kids devoured the chicken strips ;) the waitress even let us order an extra one when needed. This tipped the service over the Top (for us), super flexible and easy going.
