Dosa & Curry Garden in Regina

Food was good but over the past few years the quality is deteriorating. We go when they have Dosa melas. Lats time we went for meals and they did not provide all the dishes as advertised. Recently they have started charging for extra chutney when you order Dosa which is very bad. They gave in a small cup and charged more than a dollar. This is the first place we saw where they charged us for extra sambar/chutney and then we decided to never go back.

We ordered soup and couple from the dosa menu. Soup was okeyish. The dosa was sour probably because of made from old dough. The gravy were not up to the mark. The servers were good though.

Had the Non veg Thali. Quantity sufficient for 1 person. The curries were on sweeter side. You dont want to eat Mutton with added sugar in it whatsoever. Rasam was spot on and so was the starter.

Vegetarian options: Tasteless or uneducated staff threw to phone call i has order soyea chap but they provide soya chunks Food

It was the first time when i tried South Indian food, and the dosa is really tasty, i recommend all visit once.

The veg thali was particularly my wife favourite, good ambiance and customer service. Kotthu paratha, onion rava dosai and fried rice are very delicious. Highly recommended

Advertise online veg thali 23 cad for 2 and when I went to pay 38 cad. Does it make sense. Should change price list online as well

Fooling people by saying two for $22 but when we were there it was $18 per person with less quantity we spent $36 but still had to eat something else to feel like we eat something

The food is good but had a bad exprence today online it says close at 10pm and we reached at 9:30 and the waiter was like can u finish eat by 10 as we close by 10 like the time u close at is 10 but that does not mean u stop service at 9:30 i was their with parents who have come from india and i found it rude we are visit this place often but i feel if the time you close is 10 then at 9:30pm to tell people we are closeing will you be able to leave by 10 is wrong very dissaponted.

Horrible horrible experience. I also visit this place regularly because we love the food . We went on a Saturday after checking the timings and it said it closes at 10 pm. We reached there exactly at 9:25 and the person on the counter told that they are no longer serving the food . He gave an option that we could finish eating by 10 . But that s impossible as we had our parents come from india and no one can eat this fast . Very very bad experience. It felt as if they dint want to enter the place at all even at 9:25

I had the worst customer interaction while ordering biryani. I asked for extra meat and was ready to pay extra. Instead of being polite, the front desk attendant rudely told me, You are calling Dosa and Curry Garden; we don t do this it must be other store. In the past, another staff member always added extra meat and charged me accordingly. Due to this rude behavior, I won t be visiting again.

Food was just okay, but the service was really awful. The waiter was really rude to lady who asked him to set the Ac low.

Vegetarian Manchurian ordered it s too salty and stale ..I understand it s 1+1 going as campaign but it s doesn t mean quality is down

Confirmed my order started preparing and then didn t hand over to the delivery person waited for 2 hours and then the restaurant closed. Worst service ever.

The service was really poor. The waiter didnt want to help us at all. The flush was not working and he was like I dont know He was busy in phone. Didnt give receipt at first. I had to ask n get.

My kids absolutely love the butter chicken, and their garlic naan always comes so hot and fresh. We always buy extra so we have leftovers, and it heats up excellent even 2 days later!

I ordered malai kofta and naan from them and they give low quantity food for such high price. The naans were really hard. They really need to work on their service and food.

Dosa & Curry garden used to be my go to place for Indo Chinese cravings for years, however, after 2 extremely disappointing experiences in a row, I feel its time to move on. A few days back, I got their veg fried rice, which was barely edible. The rice was clearly going stale, lacking any kind of flavour and was completely alien to what the same dish used to be at one time. Thinking that it might have been a one-off, I thought to give another try and this time I went for noodles and Gobi Manchurian. To my dismay, this was even worse than my earlier experience. The noodles (if we can even call it that??) felt like I was just eating plain hard raw difficult to chew vegetables - and was unbearably spicy. The Gobi Manchurian was doughy, and absolutely disgusting. Had to throw away both of these items. I guess something has definitely changed drastically because the restaurant itself was EMPTY (And this is on a Sunday night!) - not a single person at any table. So thats that for me with this restaurant - my hunch is the original chef quit or something. Whatever the reason, stay away from this restaurant since its barely a shadow and distant memory of what it once used to be!

Best butter chicken Ive had in Regina

On Valentines Day, I decided to treat myself to a to-go order from Dosa & Curry Garden, enticed by their seemingly good deal on food. However, what should have been a delightful experience turned into a frustrating ordeal. Despite their efforts to attract customers with enticing offers, the restaurant failed to deliver on time. My order, which was supposed to be ready promptly, left me waiting for an unacceptable duration. The inability to fulfill their promises and meet basic expectations left a sour taste in my mouth, overshadowing any goodwill generated by their promotional offers. In the end, guess what, THE FOOD WAS COLD!

I bought 2 Kothuporotta chicken, Dosa chicken, chicken chilly, methuvada and chicken fried rice. As we were travelling , we takeout the order and the food was soooo bad. Not tasty, Not cleanily cooked . We had the same before 4 months. Those were so good, thats why we planned to buy again. Anyways no more food from this restaurant.

The best dish is made of many smaller dishes. Pictures included shows the kinescope of tastes. Remember this dishes are served until only 2:00pm. Remember the restaurant is on bus route no parking during certain. Park away or this reasonable price you will pay. Food

Ordered a masala dosa and a chole bature. The masala inside the dosa was spoiled, though the chole bature was ok. The guy inside the kitchen (assuming to be the manager or the owner) who used to roam in the diner while having our breakfast never even showed himself...lol...and finally we had to pay in full....Never visiting them again nor recommending this place to anyone

Today was the last visit to this restaurant that used to be our favorite longtime ago. Deteriorating quality of food, ordered Dosa today, came out cold. Sambhar was cold too. Surely today was our last visit. Charged $2 for adding sauted slices onions to the masala and they were raw oiled onions.

First restaurant to start an egg special menu and we loved it. [Original review] Little cozy eatery.. At an average they have the fastest delivery time in comparison to other restaurants. Our recommendation: 1. Goat Masala (its super yummy and very consistent taste)** 2. Saffron Rice 3. Garlic Naan

I would rate it 3.5/5. Its a low-key, homey restaurant which I liked. The portions are generous and reasonably priced. The food itself was okay to me - Definitely not bad but wouldnt call it one of my top experiences for Indian food. The hot and sour soup was the spiciest soup Ive ever had in my life anywhere - Did not expect to find that at a restaurant in Regina!

Friendly and accommodating staff. Delicious food (I ve never eaten Dosa anywhere else in Regina - this was just the right amount of spicy!) the restaurant is tidy and clean and conducive to table conversation. My chai tea was also a treat. Thank you!

The recent weekend brunch is worth every penny. Had the dhal vada (masala vadai) after a very long time. And the brunch was ~17CAD and is unlimited as well. Certainly a must try weekend brunch for South Indian food

The quality of Mysore masala dosa has slipped off from the last time.

We ordered mysore masal dosa and for the first time it was cold and second time the quality of food was not appropriate as compared to my last visit and the air conditioning was also not working i guess the staff and management has changed

Quality of their dosa has tasted bland this time as compared to past times. Garlic naan became crispy after 10 minutes looked like not eatable.

The service was bad. We had to ask for water ourself. We got our food 30-40 minutes late and they only gave us one naan even though there was 8 of us and we asked for 5-6 naans. We ordered 4 dishes and they gave us only 3 and still tried to charge us for 4 dishes. And the goat meat looked old and it was hard and dry. I would give this 0 stars if I could.

The quality and quantity of food was good. It was satisfying experience. Its been a several times we have had different items here, but we have never been dissappointed. Vegetarian options: Variety of vegetarian options available.

Excellent place to try different varieties of the Dosa. Vada and Idli was soft. Chutney was little spicy but you have an option to select spicy level. Overall experience was good. Worth to visit the restaurant. Parking: Its on the Albert street, which is a busy street. Parking is free after 5pm.

I went for Dosa curry garden recently and had discussed with few other friends about it. Dosa, sambar, chutney is great. But, the unlimited dosas within 1 hour isnt really giving a satisfactory experience because each dosa is really big. By the time one finishes two dosa one would feel hugely satiated (full). Two big dosa is almost the same price of this unlimited dosas. It is not about savings here. It is about the feeling of eating variety of dosas. Probably they should reduce the size of dosa half the size so that even if one eats three moderate dosa they would feel better. Many restaurants in Chennai when they give 5 types uthappams given smaller uthappams. I believe this idea can be evolved like that. The idea of dosa mela would bring in traffic but for repeat audiences we got to make them feel better not scared of full stomach. I hope it is taken in a positive note.

Very unprofessional staff including the restaurant owner. Guests were told to move their seats while eating their food. Guest walked out from the restaurant even paid the bill which they didn t eat and owner rudely responded that instead of changing seat guest is wasting food.. very unprofessional staff and owner need to learn hospitality skills..

I ordered 2 plates veg noodles last night and it was stale. Couldn t even finish one of it and our stomach got upset. I am a regular customer but have faced this issue for the first time. I don t expect this type of quality from you. Kindly look into the quality of the food .

It s first time I am going to review a food of a restaurant. I have never ever done it no matter how bad the food is.. however, this time it went beyond bad and I have had a pathetic experience and it triggered me to write a review. My brother ordered lunch for me and he chose Noodles and Manchurian.. Disgusting food.. burnt Manchurian and the level of spice was to an extent that we could hardly taste the food.. it was just the spice. Really disappointed. They should at least not serve burnt food.

Havent eaten here in some time as we dont head downtown very often. Went a couple times in the past few weeks and the food was very good and authentic south indian (had masala dosa one time and the non-veg hakka combo the other time). I noticed theyve been promoting a variety of specials lately including a seafood combo that we are looking forward to trying. Their interior decor has also been updated and looks much nicer than in the past. My only recommendation is to choose your spice level when ordering as their baseline is already spicy. It was fine for us but Im sure others might want it a bit milder.

YOU HAVE TO VISIT THIS PLACE! the menu is nice and has variety of foods. The prices are what got me, such good prices in comparison to other Indian restaurants these days. I got dosa s and they have so much stuffing. Very good for price, food is beyond my expectations. This is a busy place so go quick! Good service as well.

Amazing place. Gluten free dosa in a casual setting. Wide array of dishes on the menu. Highly recommend the prawn pakora, and the chetinadu chicken dosa. Crispy dosa was huge; over 2 feet in diameter, and filled with the most delicious, aromatic and spicy chicken. A delight for the senses, I left stuffed full of happiness. Thanks a million, dosa curry garden: youre my culinary curry captains!

WORST RESTAURANT IN REGINA. Dosa was so oily, veg and non veg curries dishes were worst. When placing order through uber eats they denied to make Manchurian crispy and have to pay for 17$ for nothing. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. WILL NEVER ORDER OR DINE IN AT THIS PLACE.

Food requires a massive makeover. Had Dosa and pav bhaji it tastes like boiled potatoes and had an awful smell to it.

The food is stellar, I love their Mutton Biriyani. I dont know if everyone will like it but me personally it fits right into my taste. I had Dosas from there, they are good, Kothu porotta is also good however for some reason the Biriyani struck me differently, very south Indian and I was happy to see an egg inside the Biriyani container (Just south Indian things :) I guess). Generous met portion inside the Biriyani & the onion and lemon slice was a good touch. Highly recommend

Ordered through Uber and this was my worst Indian food experience. Ordered 3 curries and rice. They messaged me back quickly and said one item was unavailable, so I replaced it with Kadai Chicken. My food arrives and there is no Kadai chicken only Palak Paneer and Goat Curry I called them two times but they don t answer their phone even though there are obviously people there working/cooking. Left them a voice mail As for the food: both curries were bland and lacking spices compared to other restaurants I ve ordered from, the Palak was especially bland, like they forgot to add salt? I am OK with occasionally choosing a bad new spot and getting bad food but the fact they MESSAGED me to replace a dish and then failed to include the new dish, leaving me with not enough food to feed my company, is so embarrassing. Uber refunded me but that wasn t what I really need. But since the other dishes were so underwhelming, maybe I should be happy we didn t receive the third? EDIT: now several hours later 1) restaurant still never called me back 2) two of us have upset stomach. This restaurant simply does not care. Going forward I will be sticking with Darbar and Urban Parathas which are my usual spots

Absolutely phenomenal Indian place, coming from Vancouver which obviously has good Indian food it s by far the best I ve found in Regina.

I really enjoyed the food at this place! Ive been to India and I know how much food can be seasoned, but in this establishment all the dishes were not too spicy and seasoned. I had Malai Kofta, Butter Naan and Cumin Rice. And it was perfect! The service and atmosphere are also good, for a budget establishment. I am a yogini, and I understand that the negative reviews that were left for this establishment are simply karmic lessons. Mama India, even abroad, demonstrates lessons that teach humility and gratitude. I thank every employee of this establishment, I really enjoyed it

I ordered butter chicken and chicken Manchurian for takeout and had to throw both away- the chicken pieces were overcooked and could not even chew them- the gravy was the only edible part of the meal. Waste of money

Ordered by ubereats. Surprisingly it is very less quantity. I have ordered earlier and was good. But this time pathetic. If you would like to order for 1 person then be ready to order 3 items atleast or it will be not enough for you. I don t understand they charged pretty high for everything and why providing item like peanuts. Definitely not recommended and not order again! They have to remember that profit is not only the thing they get but customer satisfaction also.

Everything we tried was great! Not too salty or sweet. Gobi machurian and andhra chicken are a bit spicy. I wish the gobi was a bit more fried, but it was still my favourite thing I ordered. My favourite indian restaurant so far in Regina!

Ordered through these guys on My Uber Eats and asked to add some mysore chutney to their egg dosa that i usually so with them when I dine In and they send it without it and when I called to clarify I was told we won t do it for online order and its extra charge but when I dine in i was never told there was extra charge for it. Basically, do not order online won t get any service and they do not even call before preparing the order to explain that. If you need extra charge let us know instead of sending food against clients choice. I will be choosing other dining options in the City for a good South Indian food. Its shame they can t be better a providing service.

Food is good but the only negative part is the ambiance and the toilet door was open because of which there was a bad smell within. But I enjoyed the food!

First order had hair in the food and the food was so dry and they replaced it and I ordered food again with a different dish and had to pay extra for that dish. I m highly unsatisfied and lost my appetite for the night.

Went with family and ordered mysore masala dosa, chicken dosa, Ghee dosa for kids and Gobi 65. Ghee dose and Gobi 65 were underwhelming considering the price. But other dosas hit the right notes and had pleasure eating them. Overall it was nice experience and still consider them best dosa place in the city.

I gave one star for customer service and for food 3.5 star. Waiter needs to groom.

Twice i came and waited at the shop. It says it opens at 11 waited for 1 hr no one opened it. No one is picking up calls and the number on the board on the top is not in service. What a waste of time.

I tried masala dosa, idli and vada all were authentic taste highly recommended for South Indian food.

We have been to this place thousands of time. Their dosas are really good which keep us bringing back to them. But the customer service they provide is worst. They have only one person to serve the food and no serving ettiqutes. He was literally trimming his nails while we were eating our food. Moreover, he alone is not enough to serve 9 tables at a time. Please hire more staff. Dont make peoples expirence of eating worst. Getting worst day by day.

Went to restaurant at 9:15 at they were in rush. Guy told us that last call for order. samber was cold. Not going back again. Done with this restaurant. Not wasting money.

Tried their chicken biryani today. I had really high hopes but i have to say that it was the least tasty biryani I have ever had. It was very dry. The rice, the chicken everything was just dry and chewy and not at all tasty! Not was I expected

NEVER EVER GOING HERE AGAIN! Please save your hard earned money. The food had hair in it and when we told the manager he said he is very upset that we complained and started denying that there was hair after he took our plate and removed it. We were upset too that there was a hair in it but we asked him to replace it but he kept on arguing with us to the point we had to leave without finishing our food, we paid for the food but I am regretting wasting my money on this pathetic establishment. Please fire your staff, they did not even apologise once. Very poor customer service skills.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I ordered some food and one of their dishes had hair in it. I complained to the waiter and he said he ll replace it. HOWEVER, it doesn t stop there. Some manager randomly comes and starts saying he s upset that I complained and that it wasn t hair it was some spice . I come from an Asian background, I know the difference between hair and spices and so I told him it was hair. He started DISRESPECTING me and kept on arguing. The way he was speaking to me was DISGUSTING. None of the staff apologised or accepted their mistake. I m so disappointed!! Never in my life have I experienced such bad customer service!!! At the end I just left my food half way and offered to pay so I can leave. With zero shame, he gave the bill and left. I AM DONE WITH THIS RESTAURANT!!!!!!

Despite being so far away from India, this restaurant serves food that is authentically Indian, hence the names dosa and curry. I tried the dosa and the chicken and paneer curry, and they were both excellent. Five stars for your incredible cuisine!

I was so disappointed with the customer service. Their staff is very rude. They dont know how to treat their customers especially women. I have never experienced this type of behaviour anywhere else. I am an Indian cuisine fan but I would never recommend this place because of hygiene concerns and bad behaviour of the staff.

Been there before! Last night the team was overly busy and probably tired. The behavior of the front desk was not at the best. If the guy on the front, who was taking orders on phone was one of the owners! He was rude to his staff and to us as customers. Not a happy feeling last night, especially when there was a power shutdown and poring.

Great food here and good dosas always. It has not yet disappointed us. The only reason for losing a star is because their parking is harder to understand due to bus schedules and if you cannot park up front, it will take you a few minutes driving to the back and walking in.

There is no Napkins no cutlery? How could I it this things? I came for pickup and every time they did same thing .

Food quality is okay, I asked staff about less spice he said we have already prepared everything so we can t make it less spicy also they need to work on cleanliness because I found so many flies down there.

Good South Indian food place because of Covid not fully loaded with dishes otherwise a nice place to have a tasty delicious experience

Pure South Indian goodness. So rare to find this level of quality in a dosa in Canada, let alone Regina. Huge selection for traditional Indian veg and levels of spice and flavour that are as authentic as possible outside of India.

They say they are open at 11:00 am and don t lift calls untill 12:00 pm. Please update your timings properly.

Their Biriyani is pure heaven.

So excited to find a place that makes kothu roti in Regina after only trying it in Toronto before!! Delicious variety of North and south Indian dishes to mix and match and satisfy different cravings! I am grateful for this place in downtown!

Great variety of Dosas but they were out of paneer dosa at 7:30 PM on Saturday. Rest was ok, masala tea had no masala flavor.
