Star anise is a best place in Regina for healthy food.I recently visited in this restaurant in Regina Saskatchewan, a popular Indian restaurant known for its traditional dishes. This was my first time dining there, and I was excited to try their food.

Very nice, good ambiance, excellent customer service

I ordered food today on Dec 7th around 9:25pm and picked it at 09:50pm. I ordered noodles and cholle Bhature. The only reason i go to this restaurant is because of gravy noodles. It was worst this time. They put just the boiled noodles in the container and on the top just little bit of gravy. The noodles were dry. They just pour the gravy on the top. In the past it was my one of the favourite place in Regina for the gravy noodles. But got disappointment this time.

The fish and beef are must try items.

It was my first time dining at Star Anise and I had a very good impression. The food was very delicious. I had the privilege of being greeted and served by Batoul and her service was impeccable! Too bad I didnt have the opportunity to leave a tip for this perfect welcome.

Asked the chef for malai chaap, chef said yes to the waitress and confirmed that we would get what we ordered. But guess what? It wasnt what we ordered. Later, we went ahead and told the guy the dish wasnt good, and what we heard in return was we do it like this and to check their online menu cause it comes with pictures... um... okay, then why did you say yes to us for our order in the first place? The only good thing was the server who was polite and considerate throughout.

Biryani is amazing...the taste is consistent and portion size is HUGE ... 1 plate of Biryani is enough for 2 adults...

Beef biriyani was delicious partnered with the kebobs. Service was quick, they also put a hand written note on my pick up box.(Small things like this sets a good small business aside). Will definitely come back

We ordered beef seekh masala, chicken lababdar, and chicken fried rice. Everything was exceptional! The beef seekh masala was tender and flavorful, the chicken lababdar was rich and creamy, and the chicken fried rice was cooked to perfection. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable. The service was also friendly and efficient. Highly recommend

Went there at 10 pm on an unplanned date with my girlfriend on the 19th of july 2024, place was very clean and the food was really good with the stuff being really friendly. I would recomend that you go there and and try it out

The food was truly the highlight of my visit. I ordered the Chicken Lollipop, and oh boy, it was love at first bite! juicy chicken coated in a flavorful sauce that left me craving for more. What truly made my experience stand out was the exceptional service. The head chef, Mohammad, was attentive, friendly, and made sure that our every need was met. He took the time to explain the dishes, made recommendations, and even checked in on us throughout the meal to ensure that everything was to our liking. Had a wonderful meal from Star Anise. The food was spiced to perfection, heat level spot on. Very generous proportions. Customer service was excellent. We had the fish curry and tandoori chicken. They also wrote a sweet note on the side of the bag appreciating our business. Would give 5 stars, no way to improve, it was perfect.

Simply delicious food and very good an friendly staff. The owner Mohammed bhai is very friendly. We were also able to meet the chef Anis bhai. He made such awesome foo. We ordered very spicy chinese and also requested for a small portion of mild from it.And to my surprise, they served us the same way. 10 stars to them .....

I tried the chicken pepper fry. I don t see it or the beef version in the online menu. It was very tasty and hot. Combined with the garlic naan, it made an excellent supper. The garlic naan has lots of garlic so if you are dining with a friend both will need to have it. Excellent Indian cuisine.

My first time trying Indian food, I tried the butter chicken , Kadia mixed veggies Indian heat and the bread basket , They offered the heat scale , I do like spicy, Kadai had a nice heat, with some lip burn, Flavour had so much going on loved it, Butter chicken was dope, and the breads 5 out 5 Ill be back

I ordered the veg manchurian, hakka noodles and butter naan, the two items were okay, but the BUTTER NAAN, the dough was sour, smell disgusting, it was expired or probably was too old. Not a great experience, I don t reside in the city, came back home from the two hour drive back and was hoping for a good meal at night and the dough is SOUR and smells AWFUL. Such a bummer!

Hello today I visited to star anise Indian restaurant I ordered starter in I try Punjabi labadhar really it was so delicious amazing too much tasty and service server was really appericiable . My suggestion is that each and every member should visit at this restaurant I am sure that you will enjoy the food.

It was truly an amazing experience. I was so hungry and the waiter gave me the perfect dish which was lam mandi. The amount was huge and the test is amazing. I try ro explore food especially from south east Asia. As a result, I like to visit star anis. Atleast, twice in a week, I used to visit this restaurant. Today, I went with my wife for dining and requested waiter to reduce the music volume. Instead of reducing the loud volume, they ( staff and owner) did extremely bad attitude with me!!. I feel very surprised to see there attitude and leave immediately. Even last time , the kabab platter, I feel not fresh enough as well. Suerly, I never visit this restaurant again.

Firstly, the cook is a very good and humble person. I am a bug fan of their Jalebis. You will find the best jalebi here. I am sure about it. I drive more than 200km just for their crispy jalebis. Talking about the food, their tandoori items are good you will find the desi flavor in them.

We had a lunch there during our trip to Regina. The manager and chef made us feel very welcome at the place. The food was great and ingredients tasted fresh which is a rarity with a lot of places here.

Everything tasted fresh, especially the fish curry. The beef curry could be called as one of the signature dishes, which is worth the money you could pay for. Select your spice level wisely, mild is not that mild. The service from the staff was standard and they were really friendly. Food : 5/5

I have ordered pickup here twice in the last month and enjoyed it both times. I tried this restaurant because they had good restaurant health inspections. Their food is good, service is fast and friendly, and portions and price are reasonable. Last time I ordered I even received a complimentary dessert. I will be coming back!

Our family (10 of us) had supper here a few days ago - the staff were very accommodating! We tried a variety of dishes and all were good - rich in flavour. The staff made sure we had what we needed, gave us complimentary rice pudding, and sent the kids home with a little takeout container of candies. Excellent service!

Read the great reviews and decided to order. Perhaps it was just hard luck on my part but the food was mediocre at best. Ordered the mix grill and another main and was treated to the most driest food my mouth has met and Im being very kind. No side of chutney either for the appetizer. Im hoping this was a one off incident and that the feedback can be taken constructively.

Visiting this restaurant from the last couple of weeks . I will must say they are offering best halal food in the town . The quality, quantity and hospitality all are on peak level . Customer service is also great you get your food within time .I tried their beef Haleem with sweet lassi the gravy was so good I have to ask them to bring extra butter Nan to finish it. Till now tried couple of items all were beyond expectations and will keep exploring more .

A lovely place, walking distance from downtown, where we received attentive service, and amazing food. Jeera rice portions were huge and delicious, and the tandoori chicken, butter chicken, chili shrimp, and Malabar chicken were all phenomenal. Toilets were clean, he put a show on for our kids, and the kitchen accommodated allergies with care, and, all in all, we left impressed and with happy bellies.

I like the place and the food, but the only problem they closed at one of weekdays (Wednesday). I planned with my colleagues couple of time and later realized they closed on a weekday. Hope they ll keep their business running on weekdays, specially, a restaurant in downtown area should not be closed on working days.

I was new in Regina and I love Indian foods when I search in Google I knew about this restaurant and I wanted to try the food from here, it was month of Ramadan and we four friends came here. I have been to many restaurants before but this restaurant was amazing and I like the food and service very much. If you try Indian food from here you will know what is the real Indian taste. Dont flow my review you try by yourself. I highly recommend everybody who are interested in indian food to try this restaurant

I truly enjoyed my lunch (goat biryani and mango lassi) at this centrally located Indian restaurant. While the food was amazing, I also enjoyed the hospitality by the front desk staff (a young Afghan lady) and Khurshid (an energetic and talented chef from India). I truly felt like I was visiting a friend by the way they made me feel welcomed. Definitely, a place I am going to return whenever I am back in Regina.

Ordered as a starter, fried cauliflower not what i expected but different and very nice with a green dip. Also ordered chicken tiki masala spicy.! Garlic naan bread very nice And a cold coke to cool me down from the spices. This place was recommended by the front desk at the next door Holiday Inn. Service was good and the food was I neeed da lot of tissues when the spices made my nose run..... I recommend this humble restaurant

Food is absolute gross they spoiled my bday we went there at 8pm/ took so long to get the appetizers and after appetizers waited for 1hr 10 min for food that was so gross that we took first bite and was done. Even the server agreed that i know its taking long its just we only have one chef today which is absolutely not our problem. But still we waited and then the food, i have never eaten this kinda food in any restaurant or even at home. When we told them that we are not gonna eat this, girl said i will bring my chef here. Chef started telling us that naan bread is made of yeast nd ol as if its our first time eating naan. When we talk about other items, he just asked how long are u in regina? How does that matter? We could be a visitor although we r not. Chef was not even sry for anything even we are so polite. What he said is just get a refund. Its not just a refund u spoiled our day and u r not even sorry about it. Now i know why no one really comes in this restaurant and they have to close buffet. They permanently closes their buffet although they have wrong adv. outside restaurant for buffet

WOW so amazing food One year ago I visited this restaurant and I am still the regular customer I am from Syria and I eat mild food and I know indian foods are spicy, I told them I eat mild food and they prepared the food the way I like mild one. I always order for pick up and whenever I have small parties at home I order from there spicially Saturday and Sunday nights. I always visit there and whenever I couldnt go there I order the food they gave me 30 minutes and I go there for pick up they prepared for me in 25 minutes. I post the pictures of the item which I ordered. Two tandoori chicken, one butter chicken and 6 garlic naan and we were four people so the quantity and the taste was very amazing so the food was enough for all of us and it was very delicious . And me and my friends enjoyed a lot in Saturday night. And when I go there to pic the food aroud 9:00 pm the restaurant was full. Its been one year I visit there with my friends. The food and the service are outstanding. Dont follow my review, I highly recommend you once visit there and try the food of Star anis Grill Indian bistro. The place is very clean, smoky staff and the food is amazing. I ordered butter chicken and was an amazing experience..

Service was awesome and i didn t have to wait much longer. The staff was really polite.

Tandoori chicken was amazing! Nan bread was really good. Butter chicken was pretty good. Pudding was okay, rice was a little watery. Staff was nice. Meal was very filling. I wish I got more tandoori chicken!

My wife and I are currently cycling across Canada. This evening the thought we deserve a treat. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, the staff are very efficient and friendly too. Thank you for a very good meal guys

I recently was visiting in Regina for a conference and stumbled on Star Anise. At first I was the only patron but still felt very comfortable and welcomed. The owner was friendly and informative. The mango lassie and chicken/meat appetizer platter I had were both very flavourful. The platter was so large I had enough for my lunch the next day! I would highly recommend you check out this restaurant run by hardworking newcomers to Canada.

Excellent food

Kulche and chole bhature was amazing; they do their breads very well. Loved the little touches (chaat masala on the salad and achar). Also the only place Ive seen in Regina that does rumali roti! Will be back again.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Regina. Must try their lunch specials.
