Traditional Korean Restaurant and Sushi
Tonight we had a group of 7 and this is all that I got to try. In order of photos: So-tteok-so-tteok ($8.95), Japchae ($15.95), Samgyeop bibim guksu ($17.95), ttukbaegi bulgogi ($19.95) and beef kimbap ($10). All prices are before tax and tip. I want to start off that this is my first time tasting any of this food and it was very much an experimental night. I am very happy to have tried everything. Everything was reasonably priced and very tasty. So-tteok-so-tteok wasn’t nearly as spicy as I expected. Flavours were comforting and I can see why this is a popular street food. Japchae is easily one of the best noodle dishes I have ever tasted. I’m obsessed with glass noodles, the warmth of the dish and the strong seasame flavour. Samgyeop bibim guksu is a fresh, cold, flavourful dish. I really enjoyed the flavours and the sweetness. This dish is perfect for a summer day and not really a cold winter day. Beef kimbap is a little wider than sushi but thinner. I actually really liked it because it allowed me to try more of other things! But the absolutely star dish of the evening was the ttukbaegi bulgogi. Seriously, perfect on a stormy winter night. This broth is easily the best broth I have ever tasted. It’s flavourful, hearty, comforting and unique. Best of all, IT HAS GLASS NOODLES TOO. Phenomenal dish. Order this first and foremost if you go. I am going to return to Kimchi. Especially for that bulgogi stew!
Kimchi is amazing. I'm so glad that I stopped here for lunch. Even though it was only slightly busy, it was still a really chill vibe. It felt like a good place to get some work done while enjoying amazing food. The prices were very fair for the quality and quantity of food that you get and the flavors were spot on. Definitely will be here again!
Regina finally has another authentic Korean restaurant (RIP Korea House). The food and service was excellent, and the authentic Korean menu has plenty to choose from. The Kimchi jjigae, and yukhoe are incredible and jam packed with flavour. Kimchi is the latest restaurant of the owners, who have opened a number of well-loved Regina restaurants in the past.
the food is very tasty, the staff is very kind, I ordered takpokki and kimbap,I also took Korean citrus it was all very tasty, the interior was also very cozy ,Thank you♡
I'm really happy that there's some good authentic Korean food in downtown now. The staff are friendly, the menu is pretty comprehensive, and service was good. The food is fantastic, the gamjatang on this visit was perfect. The spice level was not overpowering, broth was deep, and overall cooked to a very tender level. Wish there were more variety in the banchan, but overall, I'm full, I'm satisfied, and I'll be back.
First time going here, food was delicious. Everything was good and decently priced. Cant wait to return and try some of their soups and noodles!

Absolutely loved the food there! The different veggies on the Bibimpab had lots of flavor and the Tofu was nice and soft, almost creamy. The Sushi was great and the rice was perfectly cooked. Also the Jasmine Tea was of good quality. The service was excellent and the owners really care about their customers. The restaurant is very clean. If you love Korean food, this restaurant will make your stomach happy...
I was visiting Regina shortly and looking for a place to eat korean food. Then Kimchi popped up on Google maps and I gave it a try. I was so amazed!!! Hidden gem in Regina. So authentic and services were top notch. The lady owner was so kindly explaining and recommending menus Even in Calgary I have never tried such good Korean foods and the service. Will come back for sure and so glad to find this spot in Regina. Highly recommend Kimchi!
Wanted to try and see if it would be better than LIG and it was disappointing. LIG may be pricier, but at least food is good and service is good.
Fantastic food
First time here and I was not disappointed! 5 stars! Shared two beautiful meals and both were divine.
Excellent, fresh food.
Im a student studying here, and its been a while since I met my mom for a meal, and its ruining the whole atmosphere. Haha. Shes saying it to peoples faces that they look old. The female boss?? If you say that these days, youll be ruined. Especially since youre in business, right? The food is good, but the service shouldnt be messed up either. If you dont want to be upset, dont go here~
When the cooks have the right tastebuds, there is no way their cooking can go wrong.
Edit: Im back a year later to try their food again today, Nov 13th after seeing their food photos on FB. I gave 1 more star compared to my last visit - from 3 to 4 stars. The restaurant was well kept as its clean and organized. I ordered Sundoubu Soup (spelling could be wrong ). I quite enjoyed it as the broth is very tasty. I could be wrong, but i thought this specific dish has an egg on top normally but this one didnt come with one so I added one and paid extra for, no big deal. Although, to think that I paid $18 for a soup which was supposed to have variety of seafood and all I got was 1 shrimp and the rest is tofu. I find its way to expensive then! My coworker ordered Bibimbap which did not change much since last time I was in. It still has very little ground meat for the price. Overall experience, everything is good. They would have gotten 5 stars if the portions are more appropriate to the prices. ___________________<>___________________ I love Korean food and was so excited to learn that theres new Korean restaurant in Regina, I have to try. We finally had time to go today. Parking was difficult but its downtown so we expected it. Restaurant looks clean and organized. The music was too loud in my opinion. Are you going to be a family restaurant or a pub? You should choose one. If you are family restaurant, you need to get some high chairs. Now, lets talk about the food. I hope this feedback will be taken as constructive criticism. Overall, i was disappointed. The food doesnt live up to the hype and my expectation. My sun tofu soup was meh. I had much better ones elsewhere. Bibimbap was even more disappointing. Its almost $17 for a bowl and there were literally 1 fried egg and approximate 1 table spoon of ground beef and a bunch of vegetables. I understand that food cost has gone up really high lately so everywhere and everyone must adjust it accordingly, but sliced marinated beef would be better. I dont feel that my money was worth it. I dont mind to pay a bit extra for authentic and amazing food. I will have to go to LIG for Korean food I guess. I hope the owner of this restaurant can see my feedback and put more thoughts into his food.
Such amazing food and and amazing spot to go, 10/10. Every time I m in Regina I ll be coming back to this spot.
A must try if you love Korean food! We had a cold noodle dish with pork belly and the yukhoe bibimbap, as well as some mandu. The food was stellar, staff here are friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is clean and spacious. I will come here again and again!!
Great place! It was very tasty, I recommend visiting.
Waited 30 minutes for very watery wet rice bibimbap... yikes.
Best Korean restaurants hands down! Awesome service and food! Highly recommend checking it out for lunch and dinner! Food : 5/5
One of the best restaurant we ever tried! Japchae is to die for!
Delicious and authentic Korean food. Super nice owners and tons of options.
Great Korean food here
Great people! Great food! Best Korean Restaurant in Regina. Food : 5/5
I really enjoyed the gamjatang!! The atmosphere is nice and friendly, so I had a good meal~! I want to try other foods next time!
Such a great atmosphere with great food! If you are looking for real Korean food in Regina, come to Kimchi
This restaurant is really great, I had the gamgatang stew and it was really good. I think I will visit again. Thanks for the delicious food!
The atmosphere was nice and friendly, so I had a pleasant time. The food was also very delicious.
So nice restaurant delicious food.
This is by far the best restaurant Ive been to recently. The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious. I especially loved the Gamjatang.
There is a variety of authentic delicious Korean food. Warm welcoming and friendly service are so recomandable. Menu is updating regulary. This is the must come place for anyone who visits Regina.
Terrible food!!!! Too sweet!!! I ordered special lunch and Japchae, and Id ordered a kimbap 1 month ago. Id never eaten sweet kimbap. That was ridiculous for me. Korean kimbap should never be that sweet. Japchae could be a little sweet, but this one is overly sweet. For special lunch, rice was cold and dry. It looked like they packed leftover food from yesterday. Rice was even burned some part. I tried them 2 times, but the food was still so disappointing. I will never go there again.
Best tasting
Perfect booba tea!!! And kimchi so yummy
Everything is good for me.
Amazing experience at Kimchi Regina! The food was authentic and full of flavor, with generous portions. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Definitely a must-visit for anyone craving delicious Korean cuisine in Regina!
All 5 stars lol, its good I love the scenery, I love the staff, the food was amazing, wouldnt mind coming here again, I highly recommend Wheelchair accessibility: Its ground level so, no need to worry a out obstacles
Dined in for the first time today and wow! I typically order from Skip, but today I was in the area and had a gift card. The service was fast, friendly and genuine! The food came out immediately and was really fresh. I definitely recommend the cheese kimbap - it s my go to. Parking: Free 2 hour parking on Saturday and holidays. Closest parking is around the corner on Hamilton or on Scarth. Can be difficult to park during busy parts of the day. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair ramp going in and out of the front door. Wheelchair friendly washroom and dining tables.
Everything is so good. People here are very kind and food so good. I didnt know what I wanted to eat, because so many food what I wanted to try. Next time Ill order more.
Gamjatnag is a little bit spicy for me. but still good! I love their pork bone stew. the meat is so soft that it melts in your mouth. Tteokbokki, we ordered a large one. is really big. and also tastes good, too. the server, he is nice and always smiles
Food was excellent and very authentic tasting. Service was a bit slow even though it wasnt crowded. Overall excellent experience!
Gave me one of the the wrong items, but aside from that just okay food. Japche and the spicy pork are the highlights, bulgogi was really bizarre, mushy, and not authentic. Inside of this place is cool.
music bopping and food slapping, great place!
I spent sixty bucks to get such a small portion of food. Whats worse is that I chose the cutlery but not a single cutlery was given to me. Im staying in a hotel. How am I suppose to eat it??????? Even the kimbap is ice cold Ive never been so angry at a restaurant.
Not worth!
At bit on salty side, but quite authentic nonetheless Parking: Park in Cornwall Food : 5/5 |
They have the best taro smoothies ever! this place is on top with customer service! Most kind people I ve met and seems always happy to serve! Thank you!
Soooo good! And they had gluten free things for me to eat!
Incredible food!! Such a good price!! Food looked so good forgot to take picture!
Definitely 5 out of 5. Very delicious Korean food. The young lady also provided very good service. We will definitely come back again.
Update: I will not be changing my rating. I have tried them many times but my experiences have not made me feel like they have upgraded. I will only order from them now if I really crave a kimbap or soup and other places are closed. There were multiple times where I have tried ordering from them on Uber before 6pm but my orders got cancelled. If items are out of stock please update your menu instead of cancelling my orders because this makes your customers feel like you dont even want their business for your restaurant. ------------ The old owners of Wasabi and Bomb have opened this new Korean and sushi restaurant downtown on Scarth Street. I have already tried the traditional Korean menu they had at the east Bomb location and their food was delicious. I was excited to have their food again at the new location but was disappointed. I came to place a takeout order at 7pm on Friday and I waited 1 hour to receive the food to take home. I saw that they had only 2 kitchen workers (the owners) which is probably why it took so long. As I was waiting I heard one of the dine in tables saying their order was taking a long time as well. The food was missing the flavours I was looking for when I had tried them before. The tteokbokki was too soft and missing the bounce. The beef gimbap was falling apart when lifted up. I realize this is just their soft opening but I wanted to leave a review hoping they can improve a few things to become a good Korean restaurant in Regina since that is what we are missing here after Korea House closed. Will revise my review if I see improvements after the grand opening.
We can eat at lunch time on a Friday for the first time. We were a bit worried they couldnt seat all of us together since we were a party of 5. But there was one table left for us. As we sat, waiting for menus, the server was busy trying to get the others served and also got some menus for us to look at. They gave us the QR code to look at the menu online but couldnt get to it, no matter how many times we tried reloading and tried other devices. So we waited for the actual menu and our amazement not both menus were set the same. We shared two menus between the five of us... Three of us had lunch specials and the other two got the main entree soup/noodles. The meal I had was the pork belly lunch specials and it was tasty enough for me, given that I have a few food allergies to be cautious of. The others had a spicy pork lunch special, bulgogi lunch special, beef rib soup, and I believe it was budae jijgae. Given all the delays we still were able to enjoy our food and get back to work before our hour break was up.
Service was bit off but i wont blame as unexpected crowd came on a cold foggy day. The server was extremely hard working covering all the tables. He made few mistakes but he worked hard. Problem is the food. bibimbap had too little amount of beef and other dish which was like a bento box was bland. no taste
Drove down from Saskatoon to try and was not disappointed in the slightest!! The food was delicious, the service was great, and I will definitely be back again!! Wheelchair accessibility: Street access, no steps to enter.
Good location in downtown. Clean and cozy place. Food is really really good. Very authentic taste.
Spicy salmon taste soooo good!
Ordered the Kimchi Jjigae. The server was polite and helped me decide what to order. I was immediately served tea and water, the tea was delicious. The food was ready within 10 minutes and was piping hot. Overall the dish was good, but not quite to the liking of my palette (this was my first kimchi experience). The sides that they served with the dish, I have no idea what they are called but they were AMAZINGLY delicious, especially the apple one! The restaurant was very slow when I visited, only one other table was seated, so that could factor into why my food was ready so fast. If I came again Id try something different as I felt that how much food I got for how much I paid wasnt phenomenal, but it wasnt terrible either.
The price for the food was very reasonable. My girlfriend and I ordered two soups, one gimbap and one side dish Kimchi. The total was $55 including tax. There were around fives big pieces of pork bone in my soup. The portion was bigger than I expected! Will definitely go again!
Omg, so fantastic. I really love Gamjatang and Kimchi Jjigae. It is so so goodddd I think this is the best Korean food Ive had in Regina. LET TRY IT EVERYONE
Best Korean food in town!!! I was dine-in with my younger brothers yesterday. Server was really friendly, although it s pretty busy but she was nice and helpful. The food is amazing, and fast. The taste is unique, and the quality is unbelievable. The price is affordable compares with quality. Definately will come back soon with friends and family members. Best place to go!!
must try spicy cold noodles with pork belly!
Great little restaurant, the service and ambiance are welcoming and friendly. Food is quick and so delicious; all the flavors are spot-on and the ingredients are fresh and savoury. Portion sizes are perfect and the prices are affordable. The cook clearly takes pride in craft, the staff are all amazing... I will definitely come back again and again.
I love the food here so much
Food is great , and if you are the person that like to to eat Korean foods is nice to try!
We ordered gamjatang for takeout. The portion was great with lots of meat, but it was not authentic taste. Too much soybean paste flavor and its not spicy at all. The side dishes were a little disappointing too-No Kimchi.
Same owner-wasabi east, bomb bowl north. Seems like fusion korean foods, not traditional. Taste soso. Trouble with parking.
I was so excited to have an authentic Korean restaurant open up in Regina, and ordered a nice little spread last night, for take out. 2 kimbop, reg dok bokki, kamjatang, and 2 jjigaes. A cool $100, but Im thinking, at these prices thats probably a decent amount of food. Well, that was my first mistake. It was NOT a lot of food. After opening everything, I immediately called the restaurant wondering if there had been a mistake. The doenjang jjigae, which cost $16.95, was literally an inch deep in the bowl (see picture). There was so little of it that I successfully poured the entire thing into the same bowl the individual rice came in (of which we got one for each soup). The chef confirmed that yes, this was the normal amount. No mistake. An inch of soup for $16.95. And the flavor wasnt amazing at that. Next, the budaechigae - my personal favorite food from the years I lived in Korea (second pic). Nope. Not even close. Budaechigae is usually a HUGE pot of soup/stew with all kind of ingredients thrown in (if youre interested, look up its history). This was an ok flavor - Ill give you that, but Ive never had udon noodles in it, and again, barely any soup! For $18.95. I get that takeout cannot be exactly the same as dining in with certain dishes, but this was not that. This was just a huge, huge disappointment. Dok bokki was ok - a lot sweeter than Im used to, but the rice cakes were good. The kimbop were fine. The beef was dry, but the tuna was good. The only really great dish was the kamjatang - a good amount, and pretty tasty, although I cant comment on how authentic it was since Ive only had it a few times. Banchan was another solid meh. Three little sample-sized cups - apple salad, spicy cucumbers, and some plain japchae noodles - literally enough for an adult-sized mouthful. Certainly not enough to share between MULTIPLE adults who ordered 4 mains and 2 rolls. And of course, zero kimchi. I was so completely disappointed by the whole experience. Authentic Korean cuisine in Regina? Not even close. I guess we will have to continue to drive to Jeju in Saskatoon for our Korean
First time trying this restaurant today and I m pretty disappointed. They definitely overhyped this place and there is no buffet style like they originally advertised before they opened (not even on weekdays because I went by to check when I was working downtown). Portion sizes are really small, which is a shame because the food tastes decent for Regina. They only serve the lunch menu items from Monday-Friday, and unfortunately they don t offer the different meat dishes as part of their regular menu - which is also a bummer. I wish they would include the meat items in the regular menu or maybe even make a dinner box set. I hope that they take the portion sizes into consideration, being a new restaurant and all. Please also add the meat stir fry options into your menu way too many sushi options and not enough Korean dishes besides soup and noodles (and white rice). I understand that they also own Wasabi, so maybe portion size won t change lol, since that restaurant is notorious for small portions too too bad there aren t many Korean restaurants in the city anymore and we get stuck with these limited choices for Regina.
I already tried the food here, it is pretty good. I ordered bibimbap and samgyeop bibim guksu omg it was really tasty. Try it outtttt!!!!!
The food and service was great!!
Amazing quality Korean food. Highly recommended.
Its so amazing, I went there this week. I was surprised about the portion of the food it quite good for this price. I was ordered Soondubu, Yukhoe, Ttokbokki, Kimbap and cold noodle. The server is so nice, she really take care us when we came there.
Perfect place to eat and enjoy
I m so thrilled to have a good affordable Korean place to eat at ! Especially the stone bowl it s not found anywhere else. The $12.99 lunch special is amazing. Definitely worth checking out
food is excellent, absolutely delicious, best lunch special for only $13. staff is friendly. Galbi tang, Gamjatang are my favorite Food
Food was amazing. Had one of the lunch specials and it was good and filling.
The food is amazing!
Good Korean food, lots of flavor
Kimchi is great for authentic and delicious Korean food. Highly recommend to come and eat, and expect to eat a lot!
Best authentic Korean food in town!! Their Wang Galbitang stew is a must have. We also had the japchae, beef kimbap and budae jigae. All the dishes were fresh and delicious. It was only a short wait for our food and we were served by amazing staff. 10/10
I stopped in unplanned with a group of 6 on a chilly Monday night recently and we all enjoyed whatever hot stews (I had kimchi jjigae), bimbap, rolls and the delicious tteok-bokki for the table that we tried. Service was good and friendly and i ll definitely be back.
Food was super fresh and flavourful, service was spot on and low key chill atmosphere with Christmas music playing. Great to have a new place downtown!!
Best Korean place in Saskatchewan!! Honestly best food in Regina! Great service, nice atmosphere and I cannot stress enough AMAZING DELICIOUS food!
