Chop Steakhouse & Bar in Regina

Ordered the steak bites as a take out but when it arrived I eas very disappointed. They were obviously burned and over done. Very hard to chew or enjoy. The mash potates were ok but overall not impressed and wont be ordering from there again as I felt I wasted my money.

Had our sons 16th birthday supper here, food wasnt great. Hair in my steak Oscar, vegetables were unedible for every meal at our table. My younger sons steak was ordered medium it came out bleeding and full of gristle not edible. Mussels to start were grity and not at all the same as our previous experience. For $300 it was not worth it. Only good thing was my 6 year Olds chicken fingers and fries.

Came to see if this location has gotten any better or not. Unfortunately, it did not. We ordered our drinks and one of our party doesnt like ice in his drinks. The server brought him out a drink with ice. When we ordered our meal, we had ordered appetizers before our main meal. After waiting for a while, the server arrived with our food however, it was our main course, not our appetizers. Our server forgot to ring in our appetizers. The Caesar salad was more dry than the Sahara Desert, I dont understand why theyre holding back on the dressing. We had to send one of the orders back to be re-fired as we received rare steak, not a medium well like it was requested. Their Saskatoon location is by far superior compared to this one.

Everything was delicious down to even the tea. Our server Brooke was also excellent.

The food was ok, not great, and should have been great at the prices offered. First place in as long as I can remember I actually sent the steak back for a new one as it was so tough and full of gristle, steak knife couldnt cut it, and the replacement piece wasnt much better. everyone in the party had pretty subpar quality steak. Veggies were very under cooked. Service was somewhat slow but all staff were very nice and accommodating. Many other steak houses in Regina at this price point that have much higher quality food and service, would recommend going elsewhere.

Any place that makes a mandatory 17% gratuity is not worth going to. I am a consistently 20%+ tipper, however, if the service is poor or any other negative reason, I should be able to reflect that in my tip. This is just bonkers and not worth your time. Pay your servers more if you re so worried about tipping.

Prices are more interesting than the food. Reasonably priced entrees that rely on sauces and marinades for flavor.

Ive been wanting to try this place since I moved to Regina... heard good things. So, I brought my family.in for dinner; right away, I liked the look of the place, including that patio... Ill be there a lot this summer. Staff looked sharply dressed and were very friendly. Our server was great with my kid. My wife had the blue cheese wedge and some rings, and my kid had the kids burger and fries... all good. My wife LOVED that wedge salad. I had steak with a lobster tail. It was not good. The steak was perfect! Medium, with a great salty crust, and it was still very juicy. The lobster tail was just terrible... terrible. I blame.myself for ordering seafood in Saskatchewan, lol but I love it. It was small, mushy, and didnt really taste like lobster. It was almost like someone just shoved bland, flaky whitefish into a shell. I was very disappointed. Other than that, this place is great. Id measure it against the Keg for that steak... it was awesome. Probably a top 5 steak. Also, the menu looked really good. There are a few things on there Id like to have a go at. Drink menu looked good too... but thats for a kidless date night :)

They insulated on telling about the birthday dessert ...so cheap staff ...we paid this much and what we get ... insulated by the staff ...on my daughter s birthday...never tell anyone to go there... already informed that it was her birthday than also they do treat us like that

Been here quite a few times now, lounge and dinning. Both areas are pleasant from the lighting to the relaxed vibe it gives off. I have had my fair amounts of very elaborate food and drinks that are very delicious here. Now my favourite experience of going is when the owner Rod is there! Watching him interact with his customers as well with his staff! He has now come to welcome me and remember how I like my steak from previously ordering, he ll now come say Hi and make me feel very welcomed. Rod is a peoples person and very friendly with passion to what he s doing and what s coming to your plate! Keep killing it Rod and Team Chop, 5 stars!!

Tonight was the second time we have been here - it was for our anniversary. First time my husbands steak was so bad it had to be taken back. This time my steak was overcooked and was quite charred on top. For a steakhouse, we are not impressed unfortunately. Our waitress was very nice and the atmosphere is great but if we re paying that much for a steak, I would think it would be cooked to how we asked for it. Not sure if we will be coming back for a third time! Both times were disappointing for the price.

What a great experience, everything was on point, our server was excellent

They go WAY over capacity in the bar during the weekend, making it impossible for dining guests to enjoy themselves. They treat it like a night club atmosphere, which in Regina is never a classy scene. And when things start to get rowdy, the staff act very unprofessional and do nothing about it.

I ve had their burger! It was good but nothing special! We tried the prime ribs and they were great! Had the mini creme brûlée and I liked that they have mini size of their regular desserts.

The feature soup was to be a lobster chowder, but was very bland. Also ordered a ceaser salad and the waitress asked if I wanted some chicken in it. When I got the bill ,four dry and burnt pieces were 10 dollars more and the salad did not taste like a ceaser salad. I would not recommend your place to anyone.

Went for happy hour - the best!! The roasted corn riblets, the goats cheese dip, the beef bits (Im sure I got every name wrong, but read the menu or inquire!) - these are outstanding.

Happy hour is a lovely time to visit ... the drink and food specials are delicious, and their desserts are to die for -- especially the creme broule.

The steak and lobster were a little over cooked, we ordered rare steak and they were medium to medium well. The rest was great though. The goat cheese dip and bread, the drinks and the seasonal veggies were all really good. The gravy wasnt great though. Service was awesome, it did take a little longer than usual to get our main courses but not unreasonably long. Last time we were there everything was perfect though so maybe someone had an off day or was training. *update. We went back for the last time. We waited over 20 mins for our server to return to take our order, the mussles were good but the smoked ribeyes were the worst! We had the smoked ribeye when they first opened and it was amazing but these were more like thick cut round steaks that needed some serious trimming of gristle, werent smoked like last time (this time fake smoke flavouring). It was chewy and tough and underwhelming on the seasoning. And the service wasnt very good. The girls were great when flagged down but our actual server pretty much ignored us. We usually went here for date nights but well be finding a new place. Honestly Ive had better steak at lower end, cheaper places.

My partner and I came for our anniversary. The manager and our server were very friendly, polite, and were overall great! The food however was not was really looking forward to eating a good quality mean and ended up with very over cooked and dry food (sent it back just to get more overcooked/dry food). The staff I spoke with were incredibly kind and understanding over the matter, but I would suggest looking elsewhere for a good steak.

Always the best place to go when you just want good food! I ve never had a bad time here and have never had less than stellar service! Me and my family will be life long customers.

First time going there It was OK the food was average And Appys and Dinner came out quickly, I thought The prices were high for what you got. Chops is more of a trendy type of place If you like trendy thats your spot.

We had dinner here for our 10th anniversary! Food is delicious, our server Riley is amazing, and great atmosphere. They even give us anniversary card! My husband and I will definitely go back.

Total disappointment. We came for a special dinner expecting high standards. I originally ordered ribs and changed my mind based on the waitress recommendation for the smoked ribeye. Half the steak was pure fat- total garbage. They reimbursed me but never even asked if I was still hungry- I left with an empty stomach.

I went here for valentines day supper and it did not disappoint. The meals were delicious. The server named Emma was phenomenal. Give her a raise!!!

My overall experience here is awesome. The entire team made birthday memory something different. from the reception to the waitress and kitchen are very polite and kind. Special thanks to the kitchen team who made our food and this presentation. Big big big thanks to Taya. She needs a better recognition than this review!

The restaurant was full so therefore very loud. (To be expected). Service was really good considering how packed and busy it was. I have no complaints with the food, and the alcohol drinks were nothing more and nothing less of what a drink should be. I would like to revisit when the holidays are over and have a more quiet experience and less people.

Enjoyed a quiet evening with my significant other on our special day. Had our favourites: center cut new Yorker and prime rib. Enjoyed the wedge salad with avocado lime vinaigrette dressing ( or the artisan greens salad ) and a mini flour less chocolate torte. The server was attentive, never out of water for me, our food was great, served at the right temperature and the atmosphere and ambiance was very pleasant to have our supper. Parking: Lots of places to park during the time we came for our dinner.

Had the bone-in rib eye tonight and it was absolutely fantastic. The steak was seasoned to perfection and cooked just right. The marbling in the steak made this a melt in your mouth experience. The staff was very attentive; we received the attention of our server, the chef, and the manager. The whole experience made us feel like we were mistook for celebrities, it was cool.

Dietary restrictions: The food was delicious and the gluten friendly options are good. We were impressed by the service. We questioned our server about gluten friendly options and whatever he wasn t certain about, he went to the kitchen to ask. When the kitchen manager came out to discuss with our guest and her parents, she was very thorough. We were really impressed with the way they tried to accommodate. We will definitely recommend them and we will be back!

I came in myself so wifi is something I rely on when coming to fancy restaurants like Chop - which unfortunately at this Chop location is garbage and definitely needs an upgrade at this day and age ! This place was ok before, but now went down really badly. I will not be coming back. I went to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend and the service was terrible the food was not as good as it used to be. (I ordered stake done medium and received raw) couldnt return it because the waitress never came by to check on us. All over was bad experience. The place that i used to consider as a good place now went on my black list.

I am actually really impressed with Chop. We were a table of 16, and all of our food came out in a timely manner. The food was excellent, and I want to go back to try other things. We also moved around to be able to visit everyone, and the servers were able to keep track. It was honestly 10 out of 10.

Just had a wonderful time with some friends at Chop. Ate a perfectly cooked medium rare top sirloin steak with an unreal peppercorn sauce. The steak was the best Ive had in a long time. Along with the food, the service was amazing. The manager even came over to greet us and welcome us to Chop, and as it was our first time she even gave us a free sample appy. The drinks were also spot on. A few of our party opted to get the bartenders choice and he knocked it out of the park. Great to know the bar staff are able to have fun and mix it up; I feel like some steakhouses are so business that the bars are afraid to go off menu. Overall fantastic experience.

No one does a perfect medium rare filet mignon like Chop! From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The decor in this pristine restaurant adds to the classy atmosphere. Our waitress was friendly, and accommodating. Even afterwards: as I waited outside for my ride, I dropped my water bottle. A young lady, with a trayful of drinks, dashed to retrieve it, handed it to me, all without spilling a drop from her tray! Mint service from beginning to end. By the way, even the washroom is classy, with black fixtures. I would recommend more than 1 wheelchair stall. It is easy to roll into the washroom, however, the main front entrance door is heavy. The wheelchair entrance was broken. Dietary restrictions: Personal attention to my needs. Wheelchair accessibility: Separate wheelchair entrance wasnt working.

We needed a gluten-free and lactose-free meal and they took the requirement very seriously. The food was delicious.

My parents, husband, and I went to Chop for Fathers Day dinner (5 p.m. on Jun. 18, 2023) and had a rather unpleasant comment made against us. The server was new and performed perfectly well, but did mistake my elderly parents side order to be mashed potatoes instead of a baked potato. When the plates came, my parents requested the correct order. The baked potato was brought out by a manager in a green chefs jacket. While delivering the potato, he commented to my father that, Its a good trick to get a baked potato. This comment was wholly inappropriate coming from management, and especially in reference to elderly people. Our total meal was $180 with tip, so it was absolutely a wildly unfair comment to imply that we were trying to trick the restaurant.

First time and would highly recommend Chop to anyone who enjoys great food and friendly service. Had the Prime Rib and must say it is probably the best I have ever had anywhere in Canada. That may sound like a stretch, but I challenge you to try it for yourself. Temperature and texture were perfect. The sides were delicious and the jus was flavourful and complimented the meat perfectly. Well that is my humble opinion anyway . We will definitely dine here again!

Everything was pretty good. The stuffed mushrooms weren t what I expected. Guess just not my choice. Great attentive waiter. Not noisy there.

The center cut New York strip loin was not as good as the description given but the blue cheese wedge salad was excellent.

Our server was Brailyn who was excellent, and the manager Sam was great too, we felt very well looked after. The general atmosphere was relatively quiet and pleasant, we appreciated the lighting actually, not something I would normally comment on. For the appetizer, the Wild Mushroom Goat Cheese dip was second to none. If youre into cocktails, the Pink Lemonade doesnt disappoint. For the main course we had the New York Striploin with Caesar Salad and a side sauteed mushrooms. The striploin could not have been more perfect. Then the Chop Burger with the Furious Fries were fantastic, the pickled onions on the burger were a nice touch. We shared the Pineapple Upside-down cake for dessert, which puts other desserts to shame after this. Overall, excellent food, pleasant ambience, great service, and although you will pay a few bucks for this experience, I would say it is worth it. Highly recommended, especially for special occasions.

One of the newer steak houses in Regina. Definitely will give Golfs and the Diplomat a run for their money! Smoked ribeye was outstanding and the ultra modern patio is very relaxing - the sod under the lower seated tables is a nice touch. Parking: At the Southland Mall so lots of space.

Love Chop! Late husband and I would always go for date nights. After he passed I continued to order and take out. For emotionally reasons I cannot sit down but I know it would be 5 . That staff is always so nice and the food is great. The steak bites are my absolute favorite! Thank you to the staff for taking care of me this past Sunday for the 3 year anniversary of my husbands passing.

It wasn t overly busy on this particular night so maybe we received extra attention . The Chop Burger is fantastic. Wedge salad is a meal in itself. Highly recommend.

Food was great. Prime rib was cooked perfectly and the horsheradish really had a kick, which I love. The server was prompt, but only downside was the wait time. The server said they were unusually busy for a Wednesday night at the end, but didnt really mention there could be a long time before food earlier on. Overall, would go back!

Supper for 10 people. 4 out of 4 steaks were cooked wrong. Not aure why they bothered to ask how wanted tjem cooked. Not just mixed up plates as all 4 were different cuts. My sister ordered medium and middle of her steak was close to rare. Service not great. Never asked if anyone wanted a drink after first order.

Went for first time with my Boss and a coworker from a different province and what a disappointment. My steak was burnt and I had to wait 20 min for a new one while other people were eating. They didn t take of it at all veggies were semi cooked and rice pilaf was undercooked. Really disappointing for such an expensive meal.

The building itself was extremely cold, seemed like they did have the heat on. Food came not warm but not cold, and it wasnt all that great. Steaks were cooked properly, but the flavour wasnt there. My son ordered a kid burger and it was over done, and totally plain. Baked potatoes came with fake bacon bits which ruined the flavour. All in all, 2/5.

Attended for supper and a few drinks with colleagues. It was a busy night. Good atmosphere. It was obvious the staff were busy. The service was understandably slower than expected. The decor is a nice break from the typical Regina windowless steakhouse scene. Ive always wondered what happens at the Diplomat or the Cottage when the power goes out... How do the clientèle see themselves out? Oil based lanterns? The flame from fried cheese? Or do the eyes of old Prime Ministers light up and guide the way? A question for another time... What impressed me most was what happened when the manager at Chop came out from the kitchen to inform two of my friends that the steaks they had ordered had been overdone. This issue was picked up before the steaks were even brought to the table. Good quality control measures. The remaining members of our party had already received our meals. In a gesture to make things right, the manager offer my friends the option of any appetizer, free of charge, to apologize for the delayed meals. Apology accepted, appetizers ordered, and the night moved on. The missing steaks and free appetizers showed up within 5 minutes. Its refreshing to know that there are still some places out there willing to acknowledge an issue with service and do what they can to correct it. This makes the customer want to return. And to top it all off, the steak was excellent.

Always a very elegant and classy experience to be in this restaurant. Latest we went for Valentines day supper and was a pleasant experience. Was a few mins wait time even after having a reservation but considering its a special day we can ignore that. Food was lovely as always. We highly recommend their steak bites as an appetizer. We havent been in for a long time, and nothing has changed. We order a few appetizers, screaming fries, meatball, and steak bites. Food was good and the service was fine.

The service was amazing, the wine and my tuna tartare were delightful; my steak on the other hand, was overcooked a bit burnt to my taste and very hard to chew; More wine please! Having a great time with my friend, and why not? Theres always room for dessert, right? Creme Brulee, my favorite ! Time to go, OOPS! Such a great time that I almost forgot about the $45 overcooked steak...

Wow! My boyfriend and I had our Anniversary supper tonight at Chop and we were absolutely blown away! The food was delicious; the best steaks we have ever eaten. The intimate ambience was perfect. Literally the best service we ve had anywhere. Our waitress, Amanda, was amazing as well as all the other staff that stopped by to make sure we had an excellent experience. At the end we received a card wishing us a Happy Anniversary (who does that? How thoughtful!) Highly recommended!

We chose Chop Steakhouse & Bar to celebrate the launch my book, Forever Five - Adventures of The Ladybug Hunter. The service was fantastic and food mouthwatering as usual. A special shout out to the manager who took extra care to be sure the gluten allergy at our table was cared for. Our server was excellent and the patio is perfect! Highly recommend this establishment.

Weve never had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The staff is by far the best of any restaurant in Regina weve visited, especially Vania! Food quality is great! Always a pleasant visit!

Food was ok, not great , we both ordered the sirloin and the steaks that were served were not the same size or thickness. The meat was average grocery store quality. I didn t think the meat was aged either or particularly flavourful (the restaurant touts their special meat preparation process for their steaks in the menu ) . The meat also was grizzly, I had to spit a piece out because I couldn t chew it. The steak is served with seasonal vegetables and choice of side. I got the mashed potatoes and it was ok, the seasonal vegetables were bok choy and it was fine but the beet was under cooked. The service was fine, and the atmosphere, because we sat on the patio was noisy from loud vehicles driving by on two busy streets the restaurant is a corner on. It was a Monday night and their were lots of tables open. They close at 10pm. The bill was 100 for 2 people, for 2 beers and 2 steaks and a 6 dollar tip I had a gift card I got from work. I had higher expectations for chop and it did not live up to them. Money would be better spent on nice steaks from a butcher shop and cooked at home but for special occasions because you have to dress up and spend a lot of money it s better to go some place nice to eat out but I don t recommend chop for that either because if you re gonna spend 50-100+ a plate try some other place.

I was here for a work dinner and it was a great experience. Atmosphere is good for visiting, the service was perfect, and the food was delicious. That was the best prime rib Ive ever had! I will definitely be back.

I had reserved for 15 people this evening and called Chop at 3pm to ask if they could accommodate 50 instead! The manager called in extra servers and hit the floor herself. Service was fantastic as were the drinks and food. We ll be back!

Was feeling like taking a risk and ordered for delivery via door dash, I was not disappointed! Amazing quality packaging and food! Even the portions were perfect. Super impressed and will definitely be doing it again!

Great meal after a hot day I spent the short time I was here on the patio later on in the evening by myself and everything was just perfect, it also has a good vibe, if you were to bring a group here youd have a great time.

Lovely staff. Great lunch specials. Salads unexpectedly good for a steakhouse. Our dinner last was beautiful and the service exceptionally kind and friendly because our server who I believe was the manager for that knew she was short staffed. So she made up for any slowness by being extra attentive when she could get to us. Every restaurant in town is struggling with under staffing. This person recognized the problem, was honest about it and did everything she could to make sure it did not affect our evening. Brava.

We visited for our 10th Anniversary and our service was amazing. The meal was perfect and our complimentary dessert and card were over and above my expectations.

Not impressed with out latest visit to Chop. Our first server got someone else to serve us after we only ordered pops. My steak was under cooked but I ate it anyways. My wifes ordered a sirloin but they sent out a smoked rib eye thinking she wouldnt know the difference. At first we gave them the benefit of the doubt that it could have been a bad piece but they insisted only the rib eye was smoked which means she was served a rib eye! They tried to say it must have picked up the taste from rib eyes cooking beside it but anyone who smokes meat knows that isnt happening, especially not with beef. The place was also dead while we were there so I doubt they sold any rib eyes. Potatoes with no onions came out with onions. For dessert we got the Creme Brule which is really the only reason we come to Chop but it wasnt even good. Cold is some spots, hot in other spots & was lumpy.

So yesterday was our 3 year anniversary and as always we go here to eat. The entire experience was above and beyond for what Ive ever seen at a restaurant,and I was a cook for over 20 years..it was very rare. If you go to chop on your special day, I hope you get served by the amazing Ciera, because she is the absolute best server Ive ever experienced in my 40 years of life. She represented the restaurant so much that we felt that our big day was just as important to the staff as it was for us. She is a 1 in a million server, and works incredibly hard at it. If she serves you, just know she will take care of you like a waitress should, and more.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Appetizers, main course and dessert are exceptionally tasty. Although it is not the least expensive place, it is not overpriced either - great value to quality ratio. Highly recommended for family events or dinners with friends and business partners. It is one of my best experiences during my recent trip to Regina.

Awesome food the staff is amazing definitely will go back. The Bartender/waitress and the host made our celebration the very best.

Ordered on skip while staying at a local hotel. Food was delicious, packaged well, arrived quickly. Not too pricey compared to similar restaurants.

Was alittle chilly but when asked they turned up the heat abit and the was some confusion when I ordered the waitress gave a free desert but I dont really like dessert so she gave me a free app for the next time I visit thumbs up

Food was ok. Perfectly done steak, but way too salty.

A little slow in serving the food on that Sat night that we went (the place was packed BTW) but the food was amazing, nonetheless.
