This established chophouse features upscale steak & seafood mains in an elegant atmosphere.
Through a late night arrival into Saskatchewan's capital I arrived both tired and hungry after a work week away from home. By recommendation for a steak I was pointed towards Golf's. What a fortunate suggestion that was. The atmosphere was comfortable and fitting of a good steakhouse. Once seated I had the pleasure of Kyle's outstanding service. Regular check-ins, good suggestions and welcoming attitude. Food came out fresh and tasty. French onion soup on point, ceaser salad was phenomenal with homemade parm heavy dressing. The steak was cooked as requested and off a tasty cow. Will keep this in mind next time I roll into Regina
Spent our 27th anniversary with Maria and staff from golf’s tonight. Every single thing in this restaurant is elegant and glamorous. The entrance is picture perfect. The bathrooms are so incredibly clean and smell fantastic. The service was impeccable. THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY everything you would want. They quality of the food shows. We will go back time and time again. It’s so romantic we sat by the fireplace and had a romantic night. Thank you Golf’s steak house. Thank you Maria.
I had a meal here on my birthday, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. It was my first time dining here, and likely my last. I ordered the lobster, expecting a premium meal, but was met with a dish that was far from fresh. Given the price, I anticipated much better quality. The lobster had a strong ammonia taste, which is a clear indication that it was not fresh. An ammonia smell or taste is a sign of spoilage, as it develops when the meat starts to break down due to bacteria. Properly handled lobster should have a sweet, slightly briny flavor, not this unpleasant odor. Additionally, the meat was overcooked to the point of being tough and rubbery, which further ruined the dish. Overcooked lobster is a common issue that results in dry, tough meat instead of tender and juicy. The potatoes served alongside were excessively salty, and the clam chowder had a rubbery texture and pasty consistency, as if it were made with too much thickener or even powdered soup mix. This was far from what I expected, especially for such a special occasion. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously to improve their quality standards.
Ordered the prime rib with mashed potatoes and veggies. Starting with the steak was really good , tender and flavour ful. Mashed potatoes were really bland. The french onion soup was very salty to my taste. Loved the garlic bread. My drink was okay!! Didn’t like how it was presented though. Service and ambience was amazing ❤️ loved the dessert too. Overall good dining experience.
Overall, this restaurant has a warm and cozy atmosphere. The steak tastes fantastic, and the service is exceptional. It’s a great place for family dinners or to celebrate special occasions. The torches at the entrance add a ceremonial touch. ESCARGOTS BOURGUIGNONNE ($17): The snails are roasted with their shells, featuring a strong garlic and buttery flavor. Dipping the garlic bread into the escargot sauce makes it very rich and appetizing. Prime Rib - A Golf’s Tradition (10oz $47): Even at just 10 ounces, this steak is particularly large. We ordered it medium, and it was still very tender. Paired with their sauce and mustard, it was delicious and not greasy at all. The sauce and mustard were very appetizing, and the roasted vegetables served with it were also great. Back Ribs ($40): This is a whole rack of pork ribs. The barbecue sauce is a perfect blend of sweet, salty, and savory, and the ribs are well-seasoned. The pork ribs are very tender and fall off the bone easily. It’s worth mentioning that the main dishes come with salad and soup, so the portions are especially large. Overall, I think the atmosphere of this restaurant is wonderful, the food is great, and the accompanying salad and soup taste good too.
The clam chowder didn't really have any clam in it and it kinda tasted cheesy for some reason. It was also lukewarm. Caesar salad was a bit limp, like it had been dressed and sat for 15-20 minutes. Garlic bread was fine. The prime rib was really good, just a bit under seasoned and there was some leftover gristle that didn't get trimmed away but I'm not too bothered by that. The lemon roasted potatoes didn't have much lemon flavor, or roasted texture. The mashed potatoes were a bit pasty, something about the texture just seemed off. All in all it's not bad, but for the price there were a few little things about the meal that made it feel not 100% worth the price Service was good, the atmosphere felt a bit gloomy. From the outside the restaurant didn't look like it was even open
I had some special requests for seating and they were definitely accommodating. It was a special day of spending time with my relatives who had the same anniversary as my husband and I and they made it special with a gift of dessert for us. Haven’t eaten in such a special place in a long while. Soup, salad, main course and dessert. Didn’t leave hungry, for sure. Thank you so much!
My co-worker and I went in with high expectations based on the reviews. We were very disappointed however with the overall experience. Starters - cheese bread tasted like burnt cheese dust. Did not finish. - soup was OK but had almost no beef in it at all. Very disappointing but not horrible. -Garlic toast was better and was very soft. We did enjoy this. - ceaser salid was just a regular thing. Nothing special about it. OK Main course -NY strip very chewy with very little flavor. Almost as if it just had salt and nothing else on it. Which in some cases is fine but the quality of meat made it not fine. Did not finish as I started to choke on the meat. We spent 160$ on this meal. The value for the price is definitely not there. Overall I felt like this meal should have cost 40$ each tops based on the quality of food. Servers -took too long to check in on how things were tasking. - restaurant was maybe a quarter full and food took a tad too long to come out. Not horrible though - seating and the overall look of the place was very old school. Lots of old birds in the building, must have been coming there for years. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place at this time. They have a lot of work to do in order to earn there current so called " high rating"
For 20 years we have enjoyed the food with family, friends & staff. Maybe it was the loud and boisterous table next to ours or maybe it was the attention given Ag folks or maybe it was the suggested 20% 25% tip .. who knows .. but on this visit lets just say the atmosphere did not measure up.
My partner and I attended Golf on Thanksgiving, 2024. From the moment we arrived to friendly greetings until we left we were really treated well. The special Thanksgiving fare was very tasty. Our portions were huge and the turkey was cooked to perfection! Top off the meal with a lovely slice of home made pumpkin pie! Autumn was our server and helped with my wine choice. An overall perfect dining experience! I would highly recommend for your next Thanksgiving! We can t wait to go back soon. Thank you.
Our group of 12 were given table that was private and we were able to feel free to speak to all Parking: Our group came in 6 vehicles and parked close to each other
If I was able put 6 stars, I definitely do this. Nice place, amazing service, comfortable and not overwhelming. Food is delicious. 10/10 Food : 5/5 |
Visiting from Alberta. Decided to eat at this Steak House. Overall, the food was Okay - For $180 I would anticipate better tasting food. The chicken fettuccine was nothing special - the chicken was bland and pasta was slightly overcooked. Spouse had steak with potatoes and veggies - steak was okay but again nothing special for $180. Drinks were delicious. Appetizers that come with the entrees were fresh and good. The service was great - the server was very friendly. The environment was average steak house - low lighting; table chairs comfy.
Had lunch on the 14 th we had chicken fingers and my husband had prime rib sandwich. My fingers were almost black I should have sent it back but I dont like to complain the waiter shouldnt have brought it out of the kitchen. I had only a handful of fries. My husband had Ceasar salad and there was only 2 fork fulls. We love this place but not any more. Shameful
We re visiting from out of town and randomly chose this restaurant. We were so pleasantly surprised with the entire experience. The atmosphere was perfect. The good was delicious and a great value for what we ordered. Highly recommend and would come back often!
When looking at the dinner menu, and the prices, together with the reverence often used when speaking of this place, my partner and I decided to go out for a nice dinner on Monday evening. We live downtown so walked over, and when we arrived, we were both surprised to find the decor was rather outdated and tired. I remarked it was the kind of place my grandpa, who is 93, would frequent for an expensive dinner. Our experience didnt really improve from there. We were assigned two servers. We ordered our drinks and an appetizer. We never did receive it. When our food finally arrived (new york striploin and prime rib), it was no better quality than one might find at a neighborhood pub. We usually go to The Keg when we want steak and we splurged big time to go to Golfs and we could have made better food at home for 1/4 the price. To say it was the most disappointing dining experience I have ver had is an understatement. Im just glad I didnt order the steak and crab legs. We wont be back.
Quite pleasant experience. The couple recommendations from the server were absolutely amazing.
Great meals delivered quickly for lunch
Lovely place for a steak and ribs dinner
On March 27th, I took my wife to Golfs Steak House for her birthday dinner. The meal was superb and the service outstanding. She chose the filet and lobster tails. To start we shared their delicious escargot. As usual, there were several tasty meal accompaniments including a choice of soup, garlic toast and salad. I ordered the individual chateaubriand which is a personal favourite when visiting this wonderful restaurant. To finish, they brought a lovely dessert that included two different selections with whipped cream. The presentation was gorgeous with a personal happy birthday message written on the plate. So, if you are planning a special event for a loved one, and you want great food and a comfortable and relaxing environment, we would highly recommend Golfs. Parking: In the evening, street parking is free after 6:00 pm. If there is not enough space to park by a meter, use the very large SaskPower parking lot behind their building.
We had a fantastic time dining here, and the atmosphere was amazing. I would definitely suggest it to my friends and to anybody else searching for a wonderful place to eat. The dinner was expertly delivered and excellent as well.Im grateful for this wonderful experience.
We were in the city for SUMA and went to Golf s. Kyle was our server and he was AMAZING. The food was awesome and the service went above and beyond!
First time for supper, absolutely fabulous! Definitely would not leave hungry. Thanks to Kyle for the best service.
We recently took our Son and Daughter in law to Golfs for a celebration dinner. They have never been to Golfs before as they have 5 children and going out to nice restaurants isnt a priority. As usual, the service and food were excellent. The clam chowder was perfect and my son said the French onion soup was the best he had ever tasted. The Greek and Caesar salads which, along with the soup, are included with your meal were very tasty. We had a variety of steaks and chicken and everything was cooked to perfection! I highly recommend Golfs for any occasion, it is our favourite restaurant for both lunch and dinner.
The restaurant can easily accommodate a large group of ten for lunch by rapidly arranging the tables. We enthusiastically ate the steak, lobster, and soup we ordered, which truly filled us up.
It was a great time. Our waitress was amazing and the Chef cooked my blue steak perfectly. Even by the 3rd spicy Ceasar he nailed it. My only issues was that bit was so busy and so many people talking it was hard to hear people at your own table.
This is a great spot for a good steak, great ambiance, and very hospitable service. We started off the night with their Smoked Old Fashioned. It arrived under a glass cover enveloped in smoke, which lingered on the glass the whole time we drank. It really gave the drink that perfect smoky flavor throughout. For appetizers, we had the escargots. They were served in-shell with a gracious amount of melted garlic butter. Its a perfect dish for sharing between a couple of people and comes with a side of garlic bread. For our mains, we ordered the Peppercorn Steak and 12oz New York Strip with sides of rice and vegetables. The mains include a side each, a course of soup, and a course of salad. For soup, we decided to upgrade to the French Onion, and for salads, we ordered the Caesar and Greek salads. Everything came out in a timely manner and well-spaced out enough for you to enjoy your company. The layout of the space is great, not too loud, and one thing that really stood out for me were the wooden chairs that gave the space a whole other vibe. It was welcoming, modern, and elegant all at the same time. The food was cooked to perfection; medium rare was medium rare and was an absolute treat to enjoy. The steamed vegetables were firm but not on the raw side, and the rice was on point. The salads were sizeable, the two we tried get a thumbs up. The French onion soup was really flavorful, light on the onions, with a good amount of cheese topping the bread. For dessert, we were suggested the Peanut Butter Pie. We were on the fence if we were even going to get dessert at all, but with enough convincing, we took a couple of orders to go. Why were we on the fence so much? It was so good! The peanut butter mousse is so soft and pairs so well with the chocolate and pie crust. What a delight! The service there was great! We took our time, and the waitress didnt make us feel rushed or bad that we didnt decide on our drink/food. She respected our time and was happy it was our first time there. She was rather helpful with any questions we had about the menu. Overall, a great experience for people looking to go out for a nice dinner, take customers out, or just enjoy a classic level steak.
Friendly staff and a wonderful atmosphere. The food was tasty and affordable.
Our family loves to go to Golf s. The atmosphere is perfect for a business meeting or date night! The meals are always delicious and we leave full. Our favourites are the shrimp flamingo, clam chowder soup, all the rib meals, steak and lobster! I could go on and on! Go, you won t regret it!
Had the ribs, they were outstanding and them some! The clam chowder soup is the best I have ever eaten. Service is always great, and the atmosphere is relaxed and warm. I look forward to each visit!
My family goes often to Golf s. We enjoy the seafood croissant at lunch, and the ribs, garlic toast, clam chowder soup for supper! I have never been disappointed with any meal I have chosen.
My hubby of 20 years took me to golf s for Valentines Day. We sadly were put in the back room while people in their 20 s, who have far less money, were put in the main eating area. Also the owners are older then us so I ask would you want to be sit back there or your parents if you are 20? I will be sure to tell our hot teenagers our experience. I ordered lobster my hubby steak plus wine. To fine dishes that should not have been displayed nor my gorgeous dress or purse in the back. I looked beautiful said by many 20 yr old men. They even told me so. Our food came over an hour late. My hubby steak he said is better at Red lobster. My lobster was good but we make it better at home on our gas barbeque.. BTW my hubby s management team was there a week ago. I will be sure to tell his VP. Golf s I think you are age racist and you are older then moi. Also no one read tripadvisor
This was an amazing meal! We will be back! Thanks again Alexis she made the meal even more special.
Its your typical old-school steak house experience. Service was fantastic, but the steak itself was pretty boring. Nothing unique or special about the meal to justify the price. Everything about it was just good, not great.
Get the baked Alaska!
Portions were small. My salad was all of 15 leaves, my soup maybe a cup and a half. Literally laughed out loud when it was brought to me. The steak was okay, but had absolutely zero seasoning or spices on it whatsoever. Not even butter. Service staff was very good. Probably wont return for that price.
Best prime rib
Absolutely Amazing!!!!! Service was excellent, meal was over and above excellent! Excellent environment!! Thank you for a wonderful night with amazing food! Food
Ive been to a few of the local fine dining nd steakhouse restaurants in Regina over the years and this is by far the best experience Ive had. The staff were friendly. They have a free coat check that made our night elegant and special. Everything was great! The soup, salad, steak, potatoes, roast veggies, garlic bread were all splendid. Finally a steakhouse in the city that can make a steak to a cook other than medium-well properly. Most places in Regina seem outdated or are just some chain restaurant. Move aside The Keg and The Diplomat. Wheelchair accessibility: It has a ramp beside the stairs and all one level inside.
It was our first time at the restaurant. We went with high expectations after seeing the reviews. Restaurant was very busy but only 2 servers running around like headless chickens we told our server about our dietary restrictions, After long wait food came but no one bothered to keep those restrictions in mind. We were hungry and disappointed, had to reorder something else which again took forever. Food tasted below average and cherry on top was when over worked server ended up spilling vinegar on the carpet which splashed on our table and my husbands clothes. We felt like leaving right away but stayed patient and polite. In a nutshell paid a huge bill for an unpleasant dining experience.
My first time at golf steak, I ordered prime ribs well done, and it was impressive how tender the meat.
I found my steak was a little underwhelming not very much flavor Overall everything else about the meal was great Definitely try the Orange blossom cocktail
Great Dining Resturant- Chairs are uncomfortable!
We went to Golfs for our Christmas dinner and had a great experience. The service and food we top notch, they were able to accommodate everyones dietary restrictions. Dietary restrictions: They were able to accomidate all of our request.
I was treated to Golf s for my birthday. I hadn t been there for a number of years. The food and service was amazing. For $45+tax you get garlic cheese bread, soup, salad and main course with vegetables and choice of side. Everything was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend a visit!
An associate invited me here for dinner recently and I really feel like this place needs an honest review. Eating here reminded me why I dont go to places like this for food. Maybe a cocktail, but to even call what they serve food is a reach. This place is for uncultured, tasteless, uninspired, dying people. When I was eating the food I felt as if I were in a scene of a movie where a character has hit rock bottom and the food they eat (which is supposed to give us life and inspiration) tastes like the color gray. The food was not simply missing seasoning, it was also missing intention and care. It reminded me of the unspoken moment over a decade ago, when I realized that steakhouses like Golfs was actually a scam. How anyone could recieve a higher and more professional level of cooking, with a more refined menu for the same price or less, elsewhere. The price isnt at all the issue - its the food. The food is reminiscent of old white ladys home cooked dinner, where her husband is going to keel over if he has a touch of salt but that makes no difference to her because she believes her only purpose is to serve her husband so her food is bland, overcooked, unloved, and somehow tastes a lot like resentment. I feel like I ate the meal of a silent domestic dispute between two geezers. I was truly offended that my associate invited me here that I took it as a sign to not do business with him in the future. It is incredibly telling when a human being cant recognize when something is below mediocre. The price is just a bonus joke. If youre going to be a steakhouse, do it because you care about making great steak, not because it enables you to be in a higher price point for profit. We were happy to spend ~$260 initially, expecting a higher class of cooking and ingredients. Steak was used and abused, steam veg tasted boiled from frozen, rice was greasy in a lard kind of way, seafood was somehow lacking its natural flavor. But the lobster was cooked nicely, tender yet firm. I really could not finish my food because it was beyond unappetizing, the service is similar to an Applebees - inconsistent. It is a coinflip because our server was impolite, unresponsive, and clumsy. However Im sure there were great servers working other sections. Honestly dont go here, for any reason. But especially not for a celebration, because whatever joy you hope to garner by having an amazing dining experience will be diminished if you chose to eat here. Please deprogram yourself and spend your money at a restaurant that pays you in flavor, ambiance, and respect.
Great service. Great steak. Thanks for a lovely evening out.
My wife and I stopped in for lunch today. The whole experience from the food to the staff was amazing ! I highly recommend the French Onion soup. I would say it is the best in all of Regina. The Prime Rib sandwich was also fresh and cooked to perfection !!! Hats off to our server for his hospitality.
Hosts were great! Great experience.
Never have I ever had the service experience like I have here they were prompt. Never was my glass empty, and they even apologized cause they thought they had taken too long but wasnt even a thought. I would highly recommend them to anyone
Excellent dinner experience! We went quite early, so it was not at all busy. Service was exceptional. We enjoyed the prime rib and Neptune chicken which were both excellent.
We recently had the 30th anniversary of my Wife being cancer free to celebrate and when asked what she wanted for supper, she said she wanted Prime Rib. My 1st thought was immediately Golfs. Due to Covid and life getting in the way, it had been some time since we had been there and I wasnt sure it would be as good as I remembered. Let me just say that Golfs did NOT disappoint!! It was refreshing to see our meat cooked so perfectly, and I cannot stress enough the word perfectly! She ordered hers medium rare and I ordered mine medium and they were spot on! It has been a long time since any restaurant has hit the temps perfectly. The entire staff was amazing & friendly and I do not have 1 single bad thing to say about the experience. I would also like to mention that I used the online reservation option which worked flawlessly (right down to being seated at the table I requested in the reservation). Because of our schedules, we do not have a lot of free time to go out for a meal, but I guarantee that I will be surprising her with the takeout/pickup option the next opportunity I get! The atmosphere, staff and especially the food make Golfs somewhere that I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to go somewhere nice! Thank you for a wonderful meal and evening and we will definitely be returning more often going forward!
Excellent
Nice place to have lunch. Lunch special is also very good. Good amount. The soup of day is also fresh and tasty.
Came here for supper. Food came out unreasonably slow. Ordered our meals within 10min of being seated. Soup and salad came out sporadically. Didn t get our main entrees until almost 2 hours since ordering. Already lost appetite by the time the entrees came and had to get the food boxed. Food was not worth the wait. Server didn t make any attempts to rectify the situation knowing how long we had to wait. Other tables made complaints and they didn t do anything about it. Witnessed table walk out as they hadn t been helped. Wouldn t have gone here if I knew I was going to waste my time.
Working downtown and decided on a treat yo self lunch. called Golfs, asked what the lunch specials are. Fish and chips.. perfect.. treat yo self.. came with salad.. soup and bun and the biggest piece of fish ive ever gotten. I would recommend this. Reasonably price and really get what your paying for. 10 out of 10 .. Treat yo self
Great people, good food, good atmosphere. Great evening. Al Mc Donald Food : 5/5
Alway have a great time and food at Golf s. Our server Alejandro was amazing!
I love these old steak houses, the atmosphere is just great. Obviously the food is fantastic, but for a next level experience Id highly recommended ordering a smoked old fashioned. Im looking forward to my next trip to Regina because of Golfs
The smoked old fashion was the highlight for me, servers were good.
Great Prime Rib and a Truly Great Wine with it a 2010 Sassicia Awesome!
Excellent food and good service. Great lunch value
Lunch was good, but fries were dry. Over all the experience is always good there.
Visiting family and they took me here for dinner. The service was exceptional and the food cooked to perfection
Just go. You won t be disappointed! Anna was a fantastic server, food was amazing.
Try the Greek/Athenian chicken. Delicious!
Excellent food, from mussel appetizer, clam chowder, Caesar salad, steak Neptune perfectly prepared, chocolate lava cake and a small but very satisfying wine list and cocktail menu... Every detail attended to from attentive hostess, wait staff that were engaging but not hovering to creative bar tenders Elegance understated but worth exploring if youre in Regina. Great evening out with friends
The stFf was great.
Lunch was excellent, on a Wednesday
It was a blast celebrating a friends birthday at the Golfs steak house. The food was great and the atmosphere was superb too. Thanks Golf Steak house
We recently dined at Golf s Steak House as part of a group of approximately 24 people. Of course we had reserved and were placed in a nicely appointed private room. The staff was lovely - we had two servers as well as a young man that ground the pepper, etc. We were well looked after in that regard. However .the food was mediocre at best. My husband had a 10 oz strip steak that was overcooked. The presentation was horrible - a chunk of meat, a few roasted beets and a moderate-sized serving of some kind of rice pilaf were just plopped on the plate. I ordered the chicken Oscar. The breast was overcooked, and it was covered with about a teaspoon of crab, six chunks of asparagus and maybe 1.5 tablespoons of béarnaise sauce. The meal came with soup (we had clam chowder), and that came out warm, not hot, and a small salad that was OK. The garlic toast was slathered in butter to the point of dripping butter. We were certainly disappointed in the meal.
I ordered lobster and crabs. The crabs were dry and tasteless. The lobsters were undercooked, and I couldnt eat them. I also ordered cheese toast, and it was made solely of Parmigiano cheese. It was so salty that it was inedible. I have been to Golfs on several occasions and was completely disappointed with the food. The wait staff were amazing. Very professional and efficient.
Wonderful place, in my opinion best steakhouse in Regina, awesome service, great environment. Food were very fairly priced. Delicious soups salads and beef.
My favorite steak place in Regina!
It was my first time dining here, and it was a great experience. The service was wonderful, thank you Autumn for being the best! The food was amazing!
As always it was great! Amount spent per person includes a nice bottle of wine. Ordered our standard prime rib...been ordering it every year for the past 33 years. Parking: Mostly street parking. Less than 6 spots behind the restaurant. Street parking is free after 6 pm.
Great experience from start to finish. The cost might seem higher but entree s come with soup and salad and garlic bread. The service is top notch and you feel like a VIP. Golf s is typically reserved for special occasions for me, but they do make the occasion just that.
Steak was fantastic. Service was good but at times slow.
Best meal I have had to date. The entire family enjoyed eating here. Great service, amazing food, and relaxed atmosphere. Dietary restrictions: Allergies were handled very well. He made sure to eat every bite because he enjoyed it so much.
Good food, good service, nice place. Not a 5-star, but good for a business lunch.
What a lovely restaurant! The food was prepared perfectly and everything we tried was very tasty. Not everyone was dressed up, but you could tell that many special occasions were celebrated by many of the customers. They have quite a few big tables to accommodate large groups. Im still thinking about how delicious that peanut butter pie dessert was several days later! The linen napkins, the table settings, demeanor of the wait staff and host were all first class! I was proud to take business associates here and felt comfortable to take my family as well. A true local gem in downtown Regina.
The warmest welcome from the second you walk in the door, amazing service, atmosphere, and food. It is a bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for, each meal also comes with starter soup and starter salad and good sized plate of food Was a perfect evening out!
One of the best dinner experiences I ve ever had. I ll be making a point of returning here the next time I m in Regina. I highly recommend this restaurant. The prices are incredibly fair considering that all meals are 3 courses. Everything from the Caesar dressing to the table bread is prepared in house and the staff is phenomenal. You have to dine here if you re in Regina. It s one of those must see, unique experiences.
This was the best restaurant experience I ve had, the service and food was great and not crazy expensive. Everything we ordered was amazing highly recommend
We went to Golfs after work and before the Regina Pats game on a Wednesday evening. We informed our server of our time constraints and she was very accommodating. We both had wonderful meals (lamb for me and salmon for him) and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend and we will be back.
Visited with a friend, wasn t hungry so tried prawns was okayish - Good quick service Little expensive, parking was little difficult considering downtown Food
Service is good nice place ....but honestly the food at least the steak is over rated.
It is a hit and miss for food at times. This time I can during a group retirement lunch event and most of the group had the soup and found it to be salty. I tried to stick with things that I could eat and not feel too bad after and found that my choice was likely the wrong one this time. Chicken tenders with salad versus the fries. Really found the chicken was too dry and likely why I didnt like it as much because I had to dip in sauce a bit more to eat it and the sauce wasnt in my wheel house of liking it that day. Otherwise I would have something totally different if I wasnt planning out my meals for the few days since this was one of a few meals I was having out in the next few days. Others had fish and chips, the pork skewer special with rice, seafood croissant and one even had the steak sandwich and all commented it was good. It was very nice that they recognized our retiree with a dessert at the end of the event.
Very nice place :) very good food Very nice staff Thank you Food : 5/5 |
One of the best steak houses Ive been to. This is a really special place that does not disappoint
Excellent all-around.
Looking at the review s, I don t get why some are saying this restaurant is overrated. Brought my family last night for dinner and absolutely loved this restaurant. Amazing service, staff is very welcoming and food is delicious. My filet-mignon was exactly the way I like it and the whole family enjoyed their food. Prices are very reasonable for this type of restaurant. I recommend at 100%.
Food is excellent and I think in todays dollars, a fair price. I think spacing the diners out would do a lot for atmosphere and give the experience a much more intimate feel.
Service time from ordering to table was hours. Salmon as dry, vegetables barely cooked, lamb shanks cold when cut into. Added gratuity for group of 9 but didn t back up with any service. Very disappointing.
Service at reception great. Party of 9, Seated at table at 6.30 entrees arrived swiftly but had to wait 2 hours for mains, with some meals being cold and from fridge, when pointed out, the was a change in waiters attitude.
Nice restaurant. Very few vegetarian choices. The veggie burger was good.
Everytime I ve been here, the food is always good, warm atmosphere, JP is the best server !! And they have a pianist sometimes which really adds to the ambiance. We had a bridal shower brunch there at 11am when they first opened and everything was perfect, fast service and very accommodating to the party.
Amazing food, great staff supper date was incredible.
Great steak and atmosphere.
Such an amazing evening with my family. Nothing compares to dinner at golf s!
I had been here with my colleagues and it was a team dinner. Good location, warm and cozy inside. Great reception and warm greetings. Amazing service and great food. Parking: Street parking as I am not aware if they offer valet. Post 6 in the evening it s free street parking. I am not sure how secure it is on the street, as I didn t find any issue when I parked my car.
We had a good meal overall. Our waitress was lovely. However when we got home we were upset to realize my husbands chicken was missing from our doggy bag and he had half of it left and we basically paid a full meal and he only got to eat half of it .. given the price of the meal we were both quite upset.
Its a nice place! Beautiful interior, delicious food and good service
Excellent staff Christmas dinner at Golfs! The staff seamlessly served 24 people soup salads and mouth watering delicious entrées cook to perfection all at the same time. Everyone raved about their individual meal. Bravo to their chef! Our service was professional, prompt and very friendly. The servers ensured their guest had what they needed while we enjoyed making memories together in such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I look forward to dining at Golfs again soon. Thank you to Maria, Warren and your incredible staff. You should be so proud. Please extend our gratitude. Jacqueline and Hopes Home Provincial Team
When you find yourself in Regina and in the mood for some exceptional dining, Golfs Steak House is the place to be. This isnt just another restaurant; its an experience that blends great food with an atmosphere thats both welcoming and stylish. From the time we arrived, the hospitality at Gulfs sets the tone. The coat check service is impressively swift a small but significant touch that adds to the overall comfort. The seating arrangement complements the ambiance, perfect for both casual dinners and business discussions. What really stands out at Gulfs is the service. The staff have a knack for being there just when you need them, refilling drinks with a timing thats almost telepathic. Service like this really elevates the dining experience. Now, the highlight the food. My choice, the lamb shank, It was tender and rich in flavor. My colleagues T-Bone steak was equally commendable, cooked to perfection with just the right seasoning. Every dish we tried was delicious Im already looking forward to my next visit!
Busy at lunch, but food is always great!
We had an excellent dinner tonight
Another fantastic experience. Great food, great service! Been here many many times. Never disappoints. My Wife and I took my Mom out for an Xmass dinner. My Mom mentioned to the waiter that her and my Father used to come every year at anniversary time, going back 50 years! He was polite and didnt just blow her off. He said it must have changed allot since you first started coming (and some other polite banter) Right there his tip went from 20% to 30%, for indulging her. He did not know, yet it was her 1st xmass without him and I guess she felt like sharing. Good on him for listing. Sure there are other high end restaurants (steak houses) in Regina, yet this place is a classic and a staple in the community. There are trendier places to go, yet Golfs is a staple and wont disappoint! Year after year.
An Iconic Restaurant in Regina. Beautiful decor, delicious food and fantastic service. Today I did take out and all the food still maintained the high standard they are known for. The front end was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I have dined there before and you definitely get your moneys worth. I will be returning for in-house dining once Covid subsides a bit!
Love the clam chowder. All the food is amazing and super service!
Unfortunately this bright shining star of a restaurant is no longer any good. Any restaurant in downtown Regina is better than Golfs now.
Took my brother out for a birthday supper tonight. Everything was amazing from soup to dessert. Steaks and prime rib were the choice, and a baked Alaska to finish the evening. Pace was perfect nothing rushed each course tasty with great presentation. Staff was very friendly and gave our table great attention. Before we knew it, almost three hours had passed... such a great way to relax and be sociable.
Golfs is absolutely incredible!!! If you are visiting the city, you need to go here!! The staff is absolutely unbelievably amazing and I am honestly underselling it! Every single person goes out of their way to make sure everything is perfect...They have the best chefs! All of the meals come with soup and salad which is amazing... My personal favorite soup is the carrot soup, (their clam chowder is incredible too!).. I called to ask for the carrot soup...they didnt have it that day, so they took my number down and they called me a few days later.. The chef went out of his way to make the carrot soup just for me!! which is is unheard of nowadays. This place cares about each and every person that walks through that door and the chefs are amazing!! They have the best culinary skills ever! their food is always perfect you need to go there!! Trust me!
Great atmosphere, great food. Recommend table side caesar.
My partner and I are in Regina because he is teaching this weekend and one of our friends suggested Golfs for supper. I am so glad that the friend made the recommendation. We called ahead to make sure that there were tables available and were assured there were, so we made reservations. From walking into the restaurant to getting seated I was truly impressed by this place. There arent a lot of restaurants that actually do things the way Golfs does. The table settings were phenomenal. We were celebrating my partners birthday which I told our server. I ordered the seafood linguine and my partner ordered the peppercorn steak. Both entres came with soup, salad and garlic toast. Everything was absolutely delicious. The server was stellar with how much attention he gave us. (Not so much as to be intrusive at all) They even did a small dessert for my partner after it all. 10 out of 10, will definitely be going here again.
As always best place in town. Ambiance and service is still the best in regina.
Terrible service. We were seated got served water then we were completely ignored. We had two wait staff walk by us 3 or 4 times. We had the manager stand within 10 feet of us and not notice that we were sitting there with menus and water and no service 5 or 6 times. I finally went to the hostess and asked to be seated somewhere else were we could get service. We finally got a waiter from another section to serve us and then the excuses started. How they couldnt see us. How they missed us etc. Once we got service it was good but the initial service left a sour taste in our mouth and spoiled our evening out. The restaurant did absolutely nothing in the way of an apology. We will not be back.
The most amazing prime rib ever. We have tried a few. The sides were very good too cooked to perfection. Our waiters were the best too!
Went here after hearing the hype for 15 yrs now. Staff was friendly, atmosphere was nice. We waited 2.5 hours for our entrees!! Large party that come 45 minutes after us received Thier meals long before us. When asking our waiter why it was taking so long he was rude and said they were just short staffed. Portions were TINY - my friend ordered fries and received 9 French fries!!! For over $65 a person it was a rip off. I will never go back. SKIP THIS PLACE - font waste your money.
Golf Steak House is a very elegant and high end restaurant and I recommend it for any important occasion, personal or business dinner, you won t be disappointed! I did choose steak for this visit, and it was perfect for what I expected, however I heard from other guests in our group that their non-steak choices are also phenomenal! The steak order comes with soup and preferred side, so there is no surprises here. Very nice place and highly recommend!
Great food and very good service.
Myself and my worker colleague just had a meal at Golfs, both from out of town. We both ordered the prime rib. Before I ordered I asked the waiter I was deliberating between a seafood dish and prime rib. The waiter explained they have a special oven for prime rib and has the most amazing flavor, so I went for the prime rib. When the prime rib arrived the waiter came and asked if we needed anything else. We then cut into our prime ribs. Within a few cuts we looked at each other with the same look that these cuts were not what was expected. The amount of sinew I left on my plate was about 1/3 of the steak, my colleague did not finish half. Unfortunately the waiter did not come and ask us about our meal just after we started, I was planning to send it back. With no interactions with anyone we finished the meal as best as we could. When the waiter arrived after our meal, I indicated, without looking for a price cut because we chose to eat what we could, this was the worst prime rib I have ever had at a fine steak house. We are almost certain the waiter did not pass this information on, when he returned with the bills, he said this was the most eloquently way he has been told the meal was very bad. My colleague reminded him he should pass this information on. He then explained it might have been the cut, perhaps at the slaughterhouse. Just a review to relay our experience as factually as possible.
Worth every penny its more of an experience vs just getting super i suggest clear your schedule and go
Quiet atmosphere, the food is always fantastic.
Great food and service
Good service. Great food. Nice decor. Entrees for dinner are 3 courses.
We have visited Golfs many times over the years, often for our anniversary. Normally the food is faultless, as is the service. This time - April 25, 2022 - we went once more and it will be our final visit. The service is still faultless except for some long waits for horseradish and coffee. We also received a nice anniversary dessert. We always have the same meal - Pepper Steak Sauté for my wife and prime rib for me. Sadly, the meat in both cases was not as good as it has been and the filet in the Pepper Steak tasted off to me. This is the first time in our history with Golfs my wife didnt want to take home the leftovers. So we will be looking for a different fine dining experience next year. I hope this just an anomaly because Golfs is normally a great place. Sadly our $150 would have been better spent somewhere else this time around.
Amazing atmosphere and food Servers were extraordinary Very nice
I am in Regina on business and walked by the steak house. The fire outside drew me in. The host was very friendly and took my reservation for the same evening. My server Sydney made for a wonderful evening. The prices are very reasonable and portions are plentiful and atmosphere is representative of a steakhouse with class. Highly recommend!
Once again went to Golfs Steak house and no baked potato. Only steak house I ve been to without this option. I won t be going again seems to be going downhill. Spending 300 on 3 meals leaving dissatisfied.
Enjoyed my experience today at Golf s Steak House restaurant. Food was excellent! Service was fantastic! Ambiance was warm, welcoming and cozy.
My expectations were high and i was disappointed. Right from the uncofortable chairs to no soap in the washroom. The bright lite was our server Richard. A shining gem
Oh, so good. My family had steak, all cooked to perfection. I had the lobster, excellent. Staff was attentive, each course was served timely, did not feel rushed. Golfs steak house is truly a fine dining experience. Make your reservations today!
Delicious, affordable lunch!
My first time at Golf s yesterday and very impressed and honestly surprised. I always thought Golf s was out of my league and would be over priced. I could not have been more wrong. When you consider that the price on the menu is for a full 3 course meal that includes soup, huge homemade garlic toast, choice of caesar or tossed salad and then the main course which includes your choice of potatoes or rice and a very generous helping of vegetables. The cocktails and wine were fairly priced as well. My wife was full before the main course even arrived I had the 12oz prime rib which was done just as I asked and I could barely finish it all. The waiter was very professional and knowledgeable, really made us comfortable. We had brought a cake as it was my wife s birthday and he brought it out with the candles lit and all, really a nice touch. The decor is very nice as was the table setting. You can be sure we will be back and I highly recommend it
Loved the food, ambience and the entire night. The owner and the staff were so kind and friendly, she even took our pictures. I also really appreciated that they offer Halal Filet Mignon Steaks and Halal Lamb (you may want to call and request them in advance)
To give some context to this review, the restaurant did seem extremely busy. I ordered prime rib, asked if I could have several thin slices instead of a slab (English style). When we ordered the wine, the bottle took about 20 minutes to come. Our waitress told us it was her first wine service and to please bear with her. She had never used a corkscrew before and had to be instructed by guests at the table. (Completely the fault of the waiter that was training her. When the prime rib came, it was in one piece. I mentioned to the waitress that I had asked for several thin slices, but I was happy to eat it this way instead. She said the kitchen would gladly fix it and it would just take a minute. When it came back. It was cut up into 20 pieces, vertically. Something I obviously could have done myself. When I told the waiter that wasnt what I had meant, he responded Well thats what the kitchen could provide for you tonight and instantly disappeared. That response from the waiter is the only reason I felt I needed to write this review. When I asked the waitress when we got the bill, why her trainer had let her serve a bottle of wine without showing her how to use a corkscrew, or being at the table, she responded he was supposed to but was really busy. Pretty surprising, given Ive heard good things about this restaurant.
Steak and seafood were perfect. The wait staff is very attentive and professional. An excellent high end dining experience.
Wonderful, very good food and service
Outstanding taste, quality and service. Highly recommend!!
Great family reunion!
Large portions, very good service, quiet and classy interior
Always great food and great staff!! Parking: Paid parking at metered parking weekdays until 6pm or paid parking lot behind the restaurant.
Took my son for his birthday lunch. Top notch customer service and the food is second to none. Relaxing atmosphere, wonderful servers and delicious food. What more do you want.
Big group and it was handled very well. Always a good meal!
We celebrated our 50 plus 2 RGH Nursing Reunion at Golfs. They served a large group of women the most beautiful meal. We had lots of menu choices. Maria made a special menu for us with our Nursing Graduation badge printed on the menu. Such a nice memory for everyone. Thank you so much for making our evening special.
This is a restaurant you need to dine at. The staff were amazing, the service was excellent and the food was amazing. Everyone at our table enjoyed the atmosphere and their food.
We went last night for my bday. Our service was fantastic, our food was delicious. The suprise of a piece of cheese cake and candle was much appreciated .
Golf s was once my fave restaurant. I ve been to Golf s with people I love. My last visit there was the last. The food and service were good. I will never return to Golf s because of personal reasons.
Had a business dinner here. Had the small filet mignon. It was excellent. Typical steakhouse atmosphere. Friendly and attentive staff. Fairly extensive menu if youre not into steak.
Great steaks drinks were perfect service was top notch
Great service, fantastic entree selections and cosy atmosphere. Best steakhouse in the city.
Great food and wait staff. Wonderful experience.
Always treat you special and provide professional and exceptional food and service.
I enjoyed my first visit and so did the table of 15 I dined with. Well paced meal. The change to a French onion on my soup course was welcome and tasty. My immigrate table companions had Prime Rib and the Rib steak while I had a feta stuffed chicken. All were rated very well. The cheesecake (I m really picky) was pretty good for where we are in the world. Homemade and I would have again in the future. The drinks were also well prepared with the smoked old fashioned s being a personal favourite!
Parking: They used the back parking spot of saskpower and it was free of cost. Food
Wonderful. First visit and it was sensational. Great apps, soup, and an amazing steak. Fabulous service. A must when you re in Regina.
Three meals ordered for a late lunch. Wasnt expecting the amount nor the deliciousness of the food. The added bonus was the 3 lovely folks I met while picking up my order. Very friendly...Very down to earth. Will be returning...most definitely.
The food was excellent and the staff was amazing! Even tho we were at first nervous about prices, after seeing their portions, we quickly realized the prices on their menu was worth it. The quality and the service made our event a very special 50th anniversary party. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Alejandro the waiter is amazing at his job!
Wow, was the food ever good here! For some reason I expected the food to be more expensive, but everything was great. I had the prime rib beef dip. They served it very rare by default which is the way it should be! Atmosphere was good too.
Really good but pricey food. Very efficient and courteous staff.
Some of the best steaks Ive had
Absolutely delicious ! High quality and great service
Great food and service
Fantastic service from Syndney, food was amazing.
Great service
Disappointed!! No fine dining as I seen online First we made a reservation online and received an email that confirmed our time, only to arrive to be told by the hostess that she had no time to look at online bookings, but could still have us. My new york steak had gristle right down the center. The soup which was suppose to be potato bacon tasted more like chicken rice (Tim Hortons makes a better potato bacon soup). My rum punch cocktail was made by no trained bartender. Neat place, but overpriced for sub-standard food. Not impressed.
