I am searching for the best Pho in Regina. This place was recommended by a colleague at work who is a Regina resident. I came in on a Monday as they are closed Sundays. Although there was only 2 others dining at the time there were many takeout orders at during my stay. I ordered spring rolls(13b.), steamed pork bun(11) and Sliced Steak, Beef Shank, Tendon & Tripe Pho(52d.) The spring rolls came out very quickly followed by the pork bun. Both were good. Spring rolls very crispy and more vegetable based, pork bun had pork and some boiled egg. My pho was fine but not the best I’ve ever had. Monday is a great day to order because of the fact they receive their beef on Mondays as I overheard the owner mentioning to another guest. The beef was fresh and plentiful, there was an adequate amount of noodles which were nearly overdone. Having said that I was disappointed in the broth, I felt it was watery and lacking flavour depth. It could have been remedied with chilli oil but there was no check back service. Overall it was a good experience and I’ll go back to try out some other items on their expansive menu.
I've been a loyal customer since they opened in 1997. I love #57 (Beef stew with egg noodles soup). I always drink all the soup. It’s so tasty! Highly recommended!
Used to be good. Recent vermicelli bowl was flavourless and sad. If you want a bowl with some veg, the lemongrass beef isn’t for you. Only veggies were onions with some sprouts.
Whenever I crave congee and pork buns, my first choice is Ngoc Van. However, this time I decided to try something different and ordered beef meatballs and beef steak pho rice noodles, and it was absolutely delicious.
Had this bowl of pho for lunch. Tasted pretty good. Also had a bubble tea with one jelly in it. Lunch come out to over $20. I thought it would’ve been more cheap as the pho was under lunch special for $10.95.
Fast service and food was great. Loved the flavors they put all together to create a unique experience. Ordered the wor wonton soup and the special fried rice. Both were very tasty.
It's 4 stars, but I'm going to be nice. I been coming here since 2007 whenever I visited from Calgary. I been to many Vietnamese restaurant in Regina and this place is the closest to authentic Vietnamese food. I know since I grew up in a Vietnamese family. Food taste great and if you stick with the Regular size prices are good. However I did notice the prices for Large and X-Large jumps up way too high. I don't know if these are double and triple the portion of Regular, but I never seen such differences in price for getting larger bowl sizes. It was at least a extra $5+ for Large and $12+ for X-Large from Regular. I didn't bother inquiring why the big price jump. I recommend you stick with the Regular size and if you are extra hungry order a appetizer. They sell a ton of take out and delivery. The service is basic and not that great if you are needing attention while dining out. It's not that kind of restaurant.
Authentic south-east asian food. There are loads of items on the menu 2hich can be overwhelming sometimes. It is usually busy here on lunch time and the food portions are huge. Prices are fair and service is ok. The interior can definitely use an upgrade. There is a distinct smell as enter the place which is not pleasant. A better ventilation system would solve that problem. Overall a good place for a big meal.
Hands down best Vietnamese food in the city. My own wish is that they serve a half order of their awesome wings because it s always to much food to order when I m by myself. Parking: It s one the edge of downtown. I ve never had problems getting close parking.
The good: The food is delish! Big portions and fair prices. Must try! The not so good: When the place gets busy, the staff cant clean the table fast enough, and that makes it look dirty, and the service can be slow at times.
This restaurant was really nice. One of my profs took me there as a treat and the food was served promptly. It was quiet enough for us to chat about academics as we were snarfing down our supper.

Ordered chicken pho. Interesting chicken. Rooster sauce was very bland. No spice. The oyster sauce was watery. No flavor.
They used to be such a nice plate to eat at, but the customer service is more often sub-par than good nowadays.

Just be aware of how you pay them and how much are you paying. Even though you ask for a receipt they will just give you the total not the breakdown of your order. Had an experience last night when they asked me to re-tap my card because it did not go through according to their machine however I received a notification that I already paid for my order. It was deducted already in my account. Had to show them because they keep insisting I have to pay again. So they called someone to see the machine and trace all the payments in there. Not sure if that was just a machine error but yeah, just be careful. I just don t like how they treat me. Not a very good experience for the second time. So I had to share a review. I will not eat here next time.
Visited today after a 6 year hiatus. Of course, prices have shot up as to be expected but the portion was way smaller. Must have been an off day for the chef because the taste was not as good as I remembered. Will not be going back as there are better options in the city.
It saddens me to say the pho wasnt good. I had the sliced steak pho. There was plenty of meat, veggies and noodles but the broth was flavorless. The bbq pork sub was just okay. There wasnt many toppings in it. There are better options in the city.

Not in the greatest part of town, but food was absolutely delicious. Very clean, staff was friendly. We ordered the 104b which was more than enough for 2 people.
Pho and bubble tea were not tasty at all. Bad service and bad attitude. Never go there again. If you want to go for pho, go to Quan Ngon. Awesome service and food is amazing. Ngoc Van food/drinks and service has gone downhill. Unfortunate.
We are still waiting for a reply by email from you. Be careful. They told my husband his transaction did not go through and failed to give him a copy of the first failed transaction then proceeded on charging him twice. Looking at reviews and thinking this isnt just a boo boo.

The food is good. Not the best but by far still one of my fave asian restaurant. I am just putting a comment in here about my experience with SKIP THE DISHES. I ordered my food to be delivered today and supposed to be delivered to me at the RGH-ER but I never received. The person (works with skip the dishes) named PIRTH was the one who grab my order but never delivered. He or she chatted me on the app but went a different way and cut off the convo. Literally, he or she stole and ate my food. Meybe he or she is hubgry or whatever. So to the owner of this restaurant, PLEASE BAN OR MAKE A RED FLAG TO THIS PERSON NAMED PIRTH AS I DO NOT WANT OTHERS TO EXPERIENCE WHAT I HAD TODAY. I will file a complaint as well to skip the dishes about this person. He or she cannot be trusted at all.

Best vermicelli noodle bowl in Regina. I always order 103 or 104 depending on my appetite.
Its too bad that they did not send the appropriate food that was ordered. So accuracy is no good. They said I had to come down and pick up the rice noodles that were missing from my order. The skip driver left the food sitting outside of a business instead of coming in to drop off. Therefore food was cold, soup tasted like dishwater. If I could give a minus star I would.
Portions got a lot of smaller. Pork chop was half the size as what it used to be and there was barely any shredded pork. When you order this dining in you get some lettuce/tomato/cucumber on the side. My takeout order had only one small slice of cucumber. Shocked that I paid $16 for this and I even went to pick it up myself so they wouldn t have to pay commission to Skip/Chow Local. Won t order again

We have been here many times before, the food is great but the service is lacking. I would recommend other please be aware of the prices and change when paying with cash. This is our 3RD time being short changed. That we notice.. we are the type to shove our change in our wallets without counting first and after the 1st experience of being short changed here we keep an eye out. I m not talking about nickel and dimes.. but $5-$15.

Entered the newly renovated Ngoc Van restaurant, it is brighter and does not look so run down for the atmosphere. It was not overly busy, but it was steady flow of diners. We ordered was a pork skewer vermicelli noodle bowl, pork fresh rolls and their beef noodle soup. It tasted ok, but not like what I used to remember it tasting like. Not sure if it is my memory or something indeed was missing in our food for the flavour. One of the two servers wore a mask while serving customers. There is plexi glass around the cash register, but the card terminal for payments was placed on the table beside the cash register that was not protected. Parking: There is street parking around the building and across the street.
The bbq rice dish was ok. But the beef noodle pho has slipped a bit. The broth is not as good as before but overall a good vietbamese resto in Regina
I went here seeing they had good reviews with most everyone saying the food was good. I got the BBQ Duck over rice and it was terrible duck was over cooked, burnt and flavorless all you can taste is grease the rice was also bland. Overall I would say that I was served probably the worst meal of my life if not at the very least the worst duck would NOT RECOMMEND

Like to try their bubble tea
After having not eaten here in some time we decided to order through skip, we got a pork sub which was delicious but thats about where the good stuff ends. We ordered spicy beef soup and another soup. The broth was flavourless, the broth was also very thick and had a slimy texture to it, the beef was not of good quality, the broth coated the noodles which was also way over done and slimy. All in all a very poor experience, $18 and $20 soups that ended up being thrown out. Some of the worst food we have had, with the exception of the sub. We will not order again.
Be aware of how much you are paying!!! we go there not regularly but from time to time. this noon we were there for lunch. the food was good as usual. however, after we paid separately, all three of us realized that they added the tips in the price and we all tipped them again! Thats not cool!!! if you want more tips, just simply better your service rather than being so sneaky! not sure if thats why they are losing regular customers. nobody is stupid!

We have now ordered twice. Got wor wonton asked multiple times for NO Celantro. Both times have come with Celantro. We even asked when we picked it up. They assured us no. Well it did. Called and all they said was sorry then hung up.
The lady owner is always rude to her customer and even racist too.. we enjoy what we order everytime we dine in but everytime we see the lady owner she been fighting for her customer. Good cooks but the owner have bad attitude
The short hair woman with glasses has a real bad attitude to who doers at front desk. It was A long time waiting if you want to order at front. Trust me, don t let that crazy woman serve you

Variety of Vietnamese food
I made a mistake this morning and took an order that wasnt mine when I was picking up my order, along with my order that was over $65. I had called back once I was at home and asked told them I had mistakenly taken someone elses order. They asked me to bring it back because it was a Skip the Dishes order and I said that because its during COVID, I dont think the people who ordered it would appreciate that someone else had taken their order home and opened it, taken it back, and then been given that order. They said I should either bring it back or pay for it myself. I ended up paying for it for $50 extra because they called me about six times. I had tipped around $10 on my initial order as well and they wouldnt subtract that amount from the total I needed to pay because of my mistake - they ended up hanging up on me right after I gave my credit card info. I understand that its during a hard time and a pandemic, but it was a true mistake and the bags werent well labeled. Most restaurants would hopefully say dont worry about it, making me want to go back and continue to support them and tip additionally next time. I wont be going back anytime soon.

The waitress lady was so rude. Worst service ever. She literally walked away while I was trying to explain what sriracha sauce was saying I dont know and after paying for food I told her I would like my receipt and she just threw it at me I had to pick it up myself. Food is good sorry for whoever is cooking but I just had the worst experience ever.

Food is great, I love it. Ive been eating here for years! However, what I dont enjoy is being berated by the employee when I call in an order that was made wrong because something in my order was missing, and then being hung up on. I found the employee to be extremely rude by yelling at me, telling me it was my fault that she got my order wrong, and when I tried to explain that it might have gotten confusing during our conversation due to language barriers (we have two different strong accents), I was met with more yelling and more blame. This was completely unprofessional and I dont enjoy the way the management allows their employees to talk to customers. Miscommunication happens, but yelling at customers and hanging up on them mid-conversation? Nope. Not for me.

My boyfriend and I liked coming here for noodle soup but their service is really bad. Were are the type of people who would just let things go and not complain, but weve had enough. The lady dropped plastic forks. She picked them up, checked if anyone saw it. Pretented to throw them in the garbage but hid on the side of the fridge and placed them back in the pile. Eveytime we go there they just greet us with How many? And after taking the payment they dont even look at us or make any conversation even after we say thank you - nothing not even an eye contact. The lady almost broke my boyfriends card for forcing it into the machine while shaking her head IN FRONT of us as if were too dumb to use the machine, but it was actually the machine prompting an error message. It really put us in a bad mood. So disappointing ...

Best crispy chicken on fried rice ever! They have a huge menu and over the years weve tried many of them and they were always good and served fresh but my favorites are the crispy chicken on fried rice and their spring rolls. Kids love their soups and garlic fried chicken. Hubby loves their different soups which are huge! Their staff is friendly and the owner is too. Place is clean, a little dated but we go there for the food which is its greatest feature and did I mention the price? Good food for decent prices, what more can you ask for.
Good food. However, they need to sterilize their spoon, fork and chopsticks, because it is just open, and a previous customer( specially with kids) plays with them and returns it back, thus I think it could be a cause of sanitary concern. Otherwise good, TIP: just always put your utensils on the hot noodles to somewhat sterilize.

Pretty good food, seems like a busy lunch spot for downtown business people. I ordered the pork noodle bowl, it was good. The broth was a little bland, but after adding some chili oil it got better. The spring rolls are great here. My concern about this place is just that it looks a run down and could use a good cleaning. I wish Regina had a restaurant like this with good authentic Vietmanese - Chinese food as well as a nice clean atmosphere.
Ordered #65 beef stew with potato noodle (tender beef and rich beef soup with garlic oil, but I m not a fan of the potato noodle), and #51b the rare beef noodle. The portion is big for just the regular size. Overall not bad.

The pho soups, coconut chicken, spring rolls and fresh rolls are easy 5 star dishes. Delicious and consistent. The rice vermicelli though is pretty bland and if I was looking for that meal, there are better places in town. All the other things are 5 star though from my experience.
