This is an ok food, HK MILK tea restaurant as it is not worth $ comparing to similar one. The HK MILK tea should be the best, yet , there is no smell and no taste, which tells me they recycle the tea leaves for more than one batch , thats disappointing. Secondly, the size of food is petit light weight. Finally, taste is very so so. Wont go back if you ask me because many other restaurants can easily surpass this Marathon .

One of the best milk tea in town. Bolo bun with a pretty thick slice of butter is the best when its warm and melty. But beware that the shop is small and is Hong Kong cafeteria style that one has to line up and order & pay first at the counter with food being brought out later in a hole-in-the-wall operation thats quite cramped. Liked the combo dishes. Nothing fancy but I love that kind of unfiltered setting and focus on the HK-diner experience once in a while. Worth checking out

Tried most HK style cafe in the city and theyre definitely in the top 3 spots, and #1 for Milk tea hands down. Whenever I go I buy their 2L jug as I live quite the distance away.

The food is pretty good, and it comes out hot and fresh. Its a cafeteria style place, so you order your food and they bring it to your table.

Fried chicken is great.

Got takeout today and got scammed. We ordered food over the phone and I asked how many drinks we have with the order. The lady told me 1 cold drink and 3 hot drinks so thats what we ordered. After we picked up the food we find the amount we were charged didnt add up so we went back and ask. The cashier ended up saying 2 of the items we ordered doesnt come with a drink and we were charged $3.70+tax for a cup of lemon water. :(

I used to like the milk tea a while back as it stands out among all other milk tea somewhere else. However, recently I ordered one and the taste is not as strong as what it used to be. I paid $6 for a the quality of milk tea that I could have gotten for free which comes with meals in some other HK style restaurants. I have a feeling that in order to reduce the cost they add more water to it

Franchise HK cafe with locations in Richmond Hill, Scarborough and North York. They tend to be smaller, and less busy than other HK cafes but they offer a large menu selection. They also sell lottery tickets at this location.

Best HK milk tea in Toronto! It s strong, flavorful and has a great balance. Their warm pineapple buns with butter are also extremely delicious when fresh!! Really like their efficient service!

Hanian Chicken Rice came with cold chicken straight out of the fridge, Fish parsley rice noodle had two tiny piece of fish, no taste of parsley, and barely any noddle with lots beansprout as fillers. Not a milk tea person and coffee was just typical HK café. Cash only and debit for fee regardless of any amount. $19 at checkout for the noddle and a medium hot coffee. I will probably need to order 3x to fill me for lunch.

It has been second time with bad experiences at this restaurant. The second time was like to give it another try, but it still brought me disappointed. Especially the food was awful and rot. I could smell the not fresh meat sense when I open the box. How could the restaurant survive till now? No government department checked this restaurant?

Drink was so overpriced and service was very bad... gave me attitude and told me I wasnt reading the menu correctly but realized I was right when she came over to look.

No nonsense, very casual Hong Kong style cafe. I can t speak for the food, but this place has the best and roastiest Hong Kong milk tea and condensed milk tea. Anytime we re in the area, we head over to Marathon and get milk tea for the family. Great price, highly recommend

The pork chop rice noodle set was bland. Just a pork chop and nothing.

Typical HK cafe, but take out is sub par. I dine in there quite often and i like it a lot. It is getting a bit pricey compared to other hk cafes but still acceptable. I ordered twice using their own i house ordering website so i could not get a refund on the screw ups. I order typical hk meat sauce spaghetti and i got hk meat sauce on macaroni. It just diest taste the same. Other time i order hk black pepper chicken steak on spaghetti and they gave me hk black pepper chicken on rice. Eating in, i never had issues. Only their take out gave me problems.

This place is OG awesome. Great food and great prices. If you want a place with tablecloths and wine glasses then go elsewhere because this place only serves awesome meals quickly with no fuss. All the imperfections are what make it a great authentic place. Food

A classic HK style tea shop or cha chaan teng, Marathon Cafe has award winning silk strained milk tea that is super smooth and deep in flavour. Food wise, they are alright. Nothing crazy to write home about but a little on the pricier side of things. Accepts cash or debit. Parking is moderate during rush hours.

Unexpectedly busy, good tea !

Went to get curry beef brisket rice and almost threw up cause I ate finger nail even tho it was just a small piece but I m 100% sure it was finger nail and I wonder did they get their finger nail clipped in the kitchen. I should ve taken the picture to back me up or talked to the people there, but I feel very disgusted and couldn t handle talking this to them. Their price has gone up for quite a bit and shouldn t their food quality align with the price?

2 star because the drink quality is very inconsistent. I always order Milk Tea & Coffee Mix and the milk tea. Always the same lady making the drinks, but sometimes can be really good, some times can be really watery. Disappointed.

I ordered a delivery but after 1 hour they were not dealing with my order at all. Called them and Their attitude is like nothing happened , and hung up my call!

Greatest thing I have put in my mouth all year. The savoury noodles combined with the buttery egg sandwich and the refreshingly sweet lemon tea was the ultimate comfort meal for a decent price.

Food is OK but reliable HK-style drinks (I would have given 3 stars but the drinks are what give it the 4th star). Prices have increased but we re out here living in a recession so it s not really their fault. Happy that they re open on most holidays though. They were PACKED on Christmas Day but open nonetheless.

Really liked this location! More space to sit and eat and the employees are really nice! Clean when handling the pineapple buns with changing their gloves compared to the other location. I rather go to this location because of the service and food handling.

Went there on a Sunday afternoon. As I pulled into the parking lot, I can see an employee throwing garbage into the dumpster. The same employee took my drink order. Never washing her hands or changing the latex gloves she was wearing she was about to make my drink. Thats when I stopped her and brought it to her attention. Another employee stepped in and made my drink. After living in a pandemic for 2.5 years, you would expect people and businesses to practice good hygeine.

The chicken and pork tripes taste really bad, plus the portion is next to nothing. The restaurant looks dirty as well. There are many other choices for HK cafe, but Marathon is definitely not on the list.

Milk tea is ok Daily Special includes food and beverages for $12+ However, the beef was not chewy and the rice was average. You can go and order drinks by yourself, and the tips are not included.

Good Hong Kong style tea

Went in today to pick up 2 milk teas. As the lady puts the second one on the counter she blocks me from taking it as if I was going to run off without paying. After her machine failed to take my debit payment twice she took over the machine and dishonestly added 25% tips to my order. It s small money but very dishonest and distasteful.

First time being here, we walked in around 7 today on a Sunday. No other customers were in yet, the lady said have a seat anywhere, so we just sat down.. and that its... No more service after that, just told us to have a seat. We sat there for 5min and realized she wasnt going to serve us. When we ask her can we get a menu, she said its up at the front you can get it yourself. Now i know why there isnt anyone here on a Sunday at 7:30.. ppl that works here are extremely rude, care less for customers. Not coming back again! FYI, its cash only.. becuz they purposely turned off the debit machine and claim its broken.

Best milk tea in GTA. Can t even find anywhere that is even comparable to this place. Even if u go back to Hong Kong nowadays, u will not find any better.

Came here for brunch and ordered one of their sandwich combos (pineapple bun with egg and ham + small HK milk tea). Portions are decent and got exactly what I imagined. It gets busy so be prepared to wait in line. They have quite an extensive menu. Definitely order their milk tea.

Their Friday special is da bomb! Deep Fried chicken leg with pasta/rice and several choices of sauce. On the flip side, their other dishes on the menu were just decent. What this place stood out for me are their milk teas! Arguably the best in town! Im a huge fan of milk tea... and thus far, no other HK cafés could replicate the delicious milk tea Marathon brings.

Food is always tasty and good selections for your taste buds. Their ordering system is non-traditional, it s a hybrid service dine-in process. You walk in and you can go straight to the ordering line, pick what you like and pay. Take the order # and now you can look for a table to sit down & await your food. Listen for your drinks bring ready faster than your food and they expect you will walk back to the counter to get your drinks first. Finally when your food are ready, the server will walk around and call your order #, wave if you hear your # and they will bring those items to your table. I order my favourite big eater meal , the meal comes with satay beef ramen, Hong Kong style egg sandwich and a large milk tea. I forgot to ask for the sandwich to be toasted but it still tasted ok as I was super hungry. I do recommend having the egg sandwich before the ramen as the ramen can be overpowering in taste. Moving onto the ramen, I like their satay beef balancing with the ramen, decent size for the price. milk tea a little more watery than I remember but overall still a good meal on a hungry day.

Their pork chop tomato sauce baked rice is a 4 out of 5 but their curry beef brisket with rice is a 2 out of 5 as the beef that was used was very tough and the curry sauce was a bit watery. The flavour profile was just off. Even though the picture makes it look like the sauce was burned, it didnt taste burned. It was actually quite tasty including the rice. Friendly staff. Tables are a bit crowded if you choose to sit and eat here. Parking: Limited parking as this is a commercial plaza with random stores, but theres a massive lot across the street if need be.

Came here the second time and a bit dissatisfied. The price went up. A bake tomato chicken rice and a medium cold mil tea came up to $20 cash. After waiting for 40 mins, ended up finding out that they forgot to make my order. I ended up with a sad baked rice that was obviously not cooked correctly because the rice was cold and the top was not charred. Overall, this is an okay place. But will prefer other hk cafe because of the expensive price.

Marathon has one of the better Hong Kong style milk teas in the area. The beverages come in 10oz, 16oz, and I usually get the 20oz HK milk tea. The food is decent but I would recommend only getting the milk tea.

The milk tea has been too sweet recently, even with less sugar

Im utterly disgusted by my recent experience. When I ordered a milk tea for takeaway, I discovered a cockroach at the bottom of the bottle. Its beyond unacceptable and has completely put me off from ever going back. Finding a cockroach in my drink is downright revolting and shows a lack of hygiene standards. Its a huge red flag for the restaurants cleanliness and raises serious concerns about the safety of their food. I strongly advise caution to anyone considering dining here. My experience has left me with no desire to return, and I urge the management to take immediate action to address these hygiene issues.

This my go to spot for some strong tea, thats a close resemblance to the tea I drank back home in Sri Lanka. Parking: Around 5-7 parking spot allocated for this location

Good experience with the marathon crew at the East-Asin Toronto police charity. The tea was fantastic, temperature was properly chilled, flavors were what u expect with HK traditional tea. Bare in mind my expectations are quite high, give it a 5 star and a plus 1 for supporting local communities with their presence. Would absolutely love to go to their richmondhill location to try over things with the family. Jang.

$13.50 for a Satay Beef Noodle, Egg Sandwich, and a large cold milk tea Plus, they don t expect you to tip.. but you can always put some change on the jar at the front counter!!! We often come here for this combo and other things.. The price is not the cheapest but the quality of the food is amazing Especially the Egg Sandwich!!! Marathon Cafe has consistently been my preferred choice for Hong Kong-style milk tea. Whats even more exciting is that, in the past, I typically focused solely on their milk tea due to subpar food. However, to my pleasant surprise, on my recent visits, Ive noticed a significant improvement in their food quality. I recently tried their satay beef bun, and although the bun was a tad harder than Id prefer, it was generously filled with beef. Overall, I would recommend this place for its authentic Hong Kong-style milk tea.

The first time I just came here was for the HK milk tea/ coffee and pineapple buns porkchop sandwich. Which was on point. So we wanted to try their other foods, the next time we came to markham. (We are from Ottawa) We finally have a sit-in experience. We tried the curry fried noodle, and it has wok hay but needs more flavor. Now on to the oxtail, not to sure what the flavor profile they wanted or if it was spoiled, it tasted sour to my liking, we didnt end up finishing our meal and left. Also, the oxtail wasnt worth the 20 dollars with tax.

Marathon Cafe has one of the best Milk tea and breakfast and lunch selections. They are are very impressive with their online east to order platform and also quick pick up service at the counter as well. We highly recommend to anyone who would appreciated delicious food and express service

I was told this is one of the places you get HK milk tea at. They sell it by the jug (different sizes are available) so you can enjoy it at home. I wanted to try the food, but that will be another time. I dont believe they accept credit card here just as a heads up.

This place was recommended to me from a local friend for the award winning milk tea and milk tea/coffee. Great tea taste in both and very silky. The satay beef instant noodle combo is great value at ~$12. If you get cold milk tea, get less sweet. Best bite was the milk tea, and the worst was the hk style French toast (weirdly there was no peanut butter in the centre). Overall it s a solid hk breakfast spot!

I tried the Midland store last week, and this week I made an appointment with a friend to try the Richmond store. There are many restaurants in Richmond, and you can place your order at the counter and pay, and the food will be delivered by the clerk. It was afternoon tea time again, so I ordered a company meal, a pineapple oil meal, and milk tea. The milk tea also comes in a paper cup, which not only keeps it warm, but also warms your hands when you hold it. Milk tea has the same tea flavor and is thick, so good! (Must drink). The companys management resources are also good. The pineapple oil looks better on a plate this time, because last time it was on a paper bag at the Midland store. Perhaps out of caution, the pineapple buns are a bit hard and not as soft and cooked as those in the Midland store, so the pineapple buns should be eaten quickly.

Amazing HK milk tea and lightning fast service (for takeout drinks at least). It was a little on the sweeter side but the sweetness can be adjusted. Will be back.

Delicious Chinese cafe

My favorite cha chaan tang hands down. The ladies that work there are always so nice, compared to North York prices, their dishes are a steal. For 9-13$ you can get a full meal with their award winning tea. We sometimes go just for their tea. Their iced HK milk tea on a hot summers day is the best... Better than any bubble tea and cheaper too. Mu friends had their pineapple bun and said its the best shes had in awhile. I love their HK style chicken wings. I live Korean fried chicken and Popeyes, but sometimes, Marathons HK chicken wing is the one that hits the fried chicken spot. My LO loves their triple cheese spaghetti Bolognese. Literally, the only leftover lunch she will finish. Shes also a big fan of their Ovaltine. Their stir fried flat noodles with beef is really good, great wok breath. Their pork chop is done perfectly. The only dish I was meh about was their curry. Overall, fantastic place to eat at for a quick weeknight dinner or for takeout. Been there for Saturday lunch time, the place is slammed. If Im going for a weekend meal, I prefer takeout. Highly recommend, go there on the regular. Parking: Parking is plentiful on weeknights, weekend can be a crush Kid-friendliness: They have booster seats and high chairs. See lots of kids there on weekends.

The legendary Hong Kong milk tea is indeed very strong. It is recommended to drink it in the morning! Be sure to tell me in advance that there is less sugar, otherwise it will be very sweet.
