Hearty Hungarian fare served in a homey setting with live European music & ornate paintings.
Just got home from a fantastic dinner at Rhapsody. The place was packed for good reason - the food is delicious and plentiful. You might think the prices are high but trust me you will have 2-3 meals per entree. I enjoyed the chicken almandine stuffed with Brie and cranberry sauce. Sides were their wicked roast potatoes and amazing red cabbage. Hubby had the house schnitzel - huge and excellent. Caveat: it is loud in there, between the conversations and the musicians. Serenity was our server and she was great. Highly recommend!
Very good dinning experience, great food and the staff are friendly. They have live music every Friday and Saturday.
We've been coming to Rhapsody for as long as I can remember. It was my Hungarian grandmother's favourite restaurant. Although everything is good, I have always ordered the Schnitzel. Sometimes chicken and sometimes wiener, always good.
The owners and servers were very friendly and welcoming, the food was great (and huge portions!), and the live music gave the place a fantastic atmosphere! One thing to note is the place can get very busy so if you plan on coming you'll likely have to reserve a table in advancr (the first time we visited we had to wait to get a spot and ended up going somewhere else)
Best chicken schnitzel I ever had, the portions are giant, their veggies sides are great too. Their steak is so flavourful and juicy while being unimaginably tender. The home made potato fries didn’t have much texture or crunch, but it works. The waitress had a great sense of humour. Nice decorations, the food came fast, very authentic place.
You must prepare yourself before you experience this restaurant. Highly recommended it did not disappoint. In the heart of Richmond Hill, this Hungarian restaurant really takes pride in their food. Service is professional and efficient. The restaurant is rather small but well designed and clean. Food: When I say you need to prepare to come here, I mean, do not eat all day and be ready to have delicious leftovers. The size and flavors of their schnitzels are fabulous! As well as their calamari and salads! Food is VERY WELL PREPARED, and portions are over generous. Highly recommended 👌
Big portion of food. Most of the customer needs doggie bag for leftover. Nice and yummy traditional Hungarian food. Service is nice. The price of the main course is reasonable. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant, it comes with typical reddish European style, painting and decorations are lovely.
Ever yearned to experience the rich flavors of Hungarian cuisine without leaving your city? Look no further than Rhapsody, a delightful Hungarian restaurant nestled in the heart of Richmond Hill. Guests are immediately captivated by the charming décor, reminiscent of a traditional Hungarian cottage. Warm lighting and rustic wooden features and the menu offers a wide variety of traditional Hungarian dishes, prepared with great attention to authenticity. Dinners come with a choice of sides, I had Chicken Schnitzel with dumplings and my partner had Beef Goulash also with dumplings. The dishes are generously portioned and bursting with flavors that transport your taste buds to the heart of Hungary. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive and friendly, happy to guide us through the menu and recommend dishes. Look forward to our next visit.
Nagyom finom and terrific musicians. Still delicious! Food
The food was great. The portions were generous. The price was more but offset by the quality and the portions. However parking is an issue because that part of yonge street is a tourist area and the roads are narrow and havent been widened in over half a century. That is no fault of the resteraunt. Its worth the trip!!
I don t know how this business manages to survive. They open four days a week, for a combined total of twenty three hours. That s unusually low for a restaurant. The rather expensive menu that some have alluded to, may be that they are attempting to maximize their profits due to short operating hours. I don t have any real issues with food quality, or the service, but I have been frustrated on more than one occasion because they didn t have some of the items listed on the menu. Worse yet, I have several times been refused take out service, because I was told we are busy . This is unconscionable. I suppose they have the right to operate their business the way they see fit, but as part of the service industry, they have an obligation to provide the appropriate services. Sadly, on a number of occasions, they have not.
Great food and generous portions! Service is pleasant and attentive. The live classical music is a great but because its a small venue, it actually a bit loud and quite hard to carry on a conversation.
Best Hungarian food in gta
Sooooo much delicious food! There is live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Make reservations and go. We had such a great time. Food
Overpriced. 39$ for pork schnitzel. 12$ for one sausage. No thanks Further to your reply we were served water and not ...drinks...as you make it sound like a dine and dash. We were given QR codes as you were out of menus. Other reviews support pur opinion of your being overpriced. Hunters platter for 2 is over $100. Another comment states you require full entree per person. Sounds a bit rigid. We have eaten at hungarian restaurants across Europe. You are overpriced. Period.
Rhapsody is the perfect place for a cozy dinner with friends or family, or a special celebration with loved ones. Its a fantastic find for anyone craving comforting, delicious food with a touch of European charm. Highly recommended!
The food is amazing, as it has been for decades
DO NOT GO ON WEEKENDS. INCREDIBLY OVERPRICED: $40 for some schnitzel and rice/fries entree! No veggies. Came to $60 per person for entree, soda, tax, server tip, musician tip. No alcohol, no appetizers, no dessert, no coffee. There are basically two things on the menu: schnitzel and goulash with entrees all at $35 or $40. Soups are $15. If its the weekend, every person MUST order an entree too so there goes the idea of trying lots of appetizers. Its a family restaurant, nothing fancy so its really expensive for what it is. Other Eastern European or German restaurants nearby have more variety in the entrees and appetizers and much lower price points, starting in the low $20s for an entree. It gets really noisy because its a small restaurant and the musicians, though very talented, will make it difficult to have a conversation.
Very cozy and pleasant. Excellent service and food. Highly recommend. Food : 5/5
Huge portions. Pricey for what you get
Excellent service I had the fish meal absolutely wonderful also portions are very big but well worth it. Thanks for the great service
First time dinnering in a restaurant required that you have to order one full plate for each person . It is a big plate. $34.99 ; hard to be done by one person.. If we knew this rule, We wouldnt walk in. If the restaurant has especially order requirements, it should let people know before they sit down. Not good feeling eating there.
good food and service.
Fantastic place for authentic Hungarian food!
We enjoyed delicious meals accompanied by violin in a real Hungarian restaurant.
Had dinner there at 3pm on Sunday August 11th, with my wife, her 2 sisters and her niece. Had the weiner schnitzel, non of us could finish our food, as the portion size was humongous, so we all took half our food home
My mom and I ate here for the first time last week and I wish we hadn t waited so long! This restaurant has the most delicious authentic Hungarian food, huge portions, beautiful old school European atmosphere, and the staff are the most welcoming. Thank you to Ferencz, Jozsef, and Heni for the great service and experience! I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who likes delicious and rich Eastern European food. Looking forward to coming back again soon with friends!
It is so cool
The best schnitzel I ve had. I drive very out of my way to go here because I haven t found any other schnitzels that compare.
Just had dinner here tonight. Extremely pleasant waiter/owner. The restaurant itself was also very clean indeed! And the food; outstanding. I had veal schnitzel. It was amongst the best Ive had, while my wife had the cabbage rolls which were perfect. The goulash soup was tantalizingly good as well. Great bread served (real crusty roll... not the fake Subway type rolls one often gets). I had a glass of the house red which wasnt bad either. Taken together this might just be the best Hungarian Restaurant weve tried, and we have sampled several throughout the city and even in Europe.
Best schnitzel. Will never leave hungry.
Very authentic and friendly Hungarian restaurant. HUGE portions that youll be taking home with you. Live music. Very enjoyable.
Great food. HUGE portions. Authentic decor. Friendly staff. Live music. Only problem we had was waitress would not sub rice for veg and we had to ask for cutlery, but, overall great experience.
Amazing food, good atmosphere!
We loved so much the snitzels, the chicken paprikas, the palacinta, evrything Thank you! Food
FunTastic food Amazing music Top servers 5 stars Food : 5/5 |
I had the best schnitzel of my life thank you
3rd time here. This time for a birthday celebration. This is the best Restaurant in the GTA hands down.fine dining experience with a family and cozy vibe
Very happy with the schnitzel and red cabbage. I recommend this for anyone looking for Hungarian dinner. Portions were massive.
An unassuming place, filled with old world knick knacks and, on Saturdays at least, the sounds of live music. Busy, bustling and high energy environment. The Schnitzel was amazing. Huge servings, tasty, and the perfect balance of crispy breading without drying out the meat. Choice of sides include the braised red cabbage or vegetables, and homemade fried potatoes or rice. But they seemed pretty casual around the sides, and let me choose nokedli (little dumplings) as one of my options.
Pleasent experience all together. Good service, huge food portions. The taste of the food is average - on the good side is the fast serving. Live Hungarian music after 6pm.
Had a wonderful time. Food was excellent and even though the drink menu is a little limited, especially for those that don t drink alcohol, everything else makes up for it. The staff is very warm and welcoming. They even help you with the pronunciation of some of the menu items. I ve never been to a Hungarian restaurant, but I assume, by my experience here, that this is a very authentic restaurant.
Delicious and authentic Hungarian food. The grandmother is still making the food, 27 years later! Went to celebrate a birthday and we were not disappointed. Had the Chicken Paprikas and the Goulash Soup. Highly recommend both. The sauce from the Chicken Paprikas is just no words.
Friendly staff. Live music and great atmosphere. Delicious food in generous portions. New Years eve they encouraged us to drink water! So caring.
Unique dining experience. Exceptional food with a great old-country vibe. musicians serenade throughout the evening. Just loved it.
Parking: Public parking lot behind the building across the street. Food
They had the best wine
Enormous portions. Everyone was taking a box home (except one friend who always finishes). Tasted great. Live traditional Hungarian music. Nice friendly atmosphere. Everything on the main course menu was $30.
Ill start by praising the food. Absolutely delicious! However, what a ridiculous rule that dishes come with one or two specific sides considering all the sides are $8. And there are four accompaniments - three of which are $8 - but they dont count as sides. How incredibly stupid. Additionally, the music is all Austrian waltzes, not Hungarian music; and the musicians look bored out of their minds as, surely, they play the same music over and over and over again.
went on a Saturday night for a celebration, the food was great, the portions were huge, the service was amazing, and the vibes were immaculate
We had my dads 60th birthday here and it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was amazing. The live music was great and the violinist was incredibly talented. The food was really good and the portions were huge. You get a lot of value for your money. I had the gypsy steak and it was yummy. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Great place to eat! I would highly recommend. Service is great.
Great place, excellent food, friendly service
Feels like youre at someones house
This place is just perfect. The home-style food is so so good and the service is very friendly. There was also a great musical duo on Friday evening. I was super pleased!
Highly recommend. Very good food, large portions. Friendly service, warm atmosphere. A violinist and pianist made the dinner even more special.
Very traditional atmosphere from the wall decor to the table cloth. They even speak Hungarian.
Every time I come to Rhapsody its a 5-Star experience. Food is so good and delicious that you want to try it all. But portions are huge, and after few bites you realize that you will have to take most of your meal home. Thank you, Joe, for the wonderful experience of Hungarian cuisine!
Loved the huge portions
Great food. Nice atmosphere and service.
Great place to eat. Food tasted magnificent, despite the high price point the food is massive, you will definitely be able to make 2 meals out of the dinner so it is worth it. Every bite was a little taste of heaven. Me and my friends went here because our friend Vince who is Hungarian and wanted to share a taste of his culture. Vince was overwhelmed by the flavours of the food as-well and said that the food reminded him of home. The owners even conversed with our group in Hungarian and were extremely kind, treated us like family almost. My friend Vince had such a great experience he shed a couple tears on the car ride home. Me and my friends will definitely be returning here again.
Came here for my grandmothers 105th birthday. she is from Romania so we wanted to bring to a restaurant which had traditional Romanian/Hungarian foods. We were not disappointed!! The food was excellent, our table ordered Famous Hortobágy-Style Pancak/Hortobágyi Palacsinta as an appetizer and it was amazing. The liver chicken soup was also very tasty. The portions for the dinners were huge: schnitzel dinner is massive, the beef goulash was so tender, and the cabbage roll was also so good. It s very homey inside, nice European decor. We went on Saturday and there was also live music (violinist and keyboard). The service was beyond amazing!!! The waitress serving us was so accommodating (we had a cake and they lit the candles and brought it out to us). She gave us very good recommendations for dishes. Overall, 10/10 experience. Definitely coming back. Given how full the restaurant was, I think others believe the same.
Seriously some of the best introduction to Hungarian food ever - was taken there for a birthday dinner. Tried their schnitzel which was amazing but what I remember the most was their sautéed cabbage which just so perfectly seasoned, warm and I would easily eat a whole head of cabbage if it was cooked like that.
The food is generously proportioned, delicious and authentic. To the person that said its too salty in the comments, it was a normal amount of salt for Hungarian food (ive eaten food at other Hungarian events, family meals and food in Hungary-for comparison) Service was a bit slow and prices very high but somewhat understandable as it seems to be a family run business. They have live music and traditional decorations which makes for a great experience. The only thing I didnt like was that they had a QPC code menu and yet no WiFi (they did have physical menus but prices not updated) overall 4.5 stars!
The food isnt really good and its way too expensive. Local German restaurants have way better food and more affordable.
Outstanding!
Our Hungarian friends invited us to the restaurant and we loved it. Very delicious! Portions are huge! Live music! Loved it! Our kids ate almost everything! Highly recommend!!!
A lovely dinner with some long time friends. The food was very very good. Saying generous portions would be an understatement - the schnitzel was huge and delicious
Everyone from all different backgrounds come to enjoy the food, entertainment and the atmosphere at Rhapsody Continental Hungarian Cuisine. I rated 4/5 stars is because in all honesty there always is some room for improvement. The management is friendly and laid back. The food is consistently good and always authentically Hungarian. The music is from two members of the Gypsy Flame Band. Check them out on YouTube. We have been coming here for decades. My biggest complaint these days is with some customer who thought it was okay to steal a saltshaker. These are authentic hungarian salt shakers which are beautifully decorated. Because that had happened customers now have to specifically request a salt and or pepper shaker for your table. One bad apple spoils it for the bunch. However, dont let that stop you from enjoying yourself. Chances are excellent that you will enjoy your visit to Rhapsody Continental Hungarian Cuisine. My only advise to you is that when you do come here be sure to bring a good appetite and have enough time to relax.
Delicious authentic cuisine
Amazing food, wonderful service! What a gem in Richmond Hill. Highly recommend
First off, I NEVER write reviews, so me taking the time to write this just shows how much I love this place. For 2 years I worked at the barbershop right beside Rhapsody. I ate at almost every restaurant in the vicinity and objectively, this is the best restaurant in the downtown Richmond hill area and one of my favourites in all of the GTA. Firstly, and most importantly, the food itself is amazing; the portions are huge and everything is made fresh in house. However, the main reason I kept going back was the super friendly staff/environment. From the moment you walk through the door to the second you leave, youre treated like family which is so refreshing as I ve only experienced a handful of restaurants with such hospitality in my entire life. The restaurant is family ran and the owner, Monika, is so humble that you would never even know that she s the owner unless you asked. Even just as a customer, I can see that she never feels like she s above getting her hands dirty. On top of that, whenever I wanted to get food for my mom, who s vegan, she would always accommodate and make me custom, vegan versions of some of the dishes they have. When she could ve easily just told me to order a salad lol. I believe theres a total of 6 family members working together and when you see how they interact with each other and with the customers, you ll understand how they ve been successfully running that place for over a decade (which is no easy feat at all). I almost forgot to mention that they also have a very talented live music duo; a violinist and a pianist that know how to play any classical song you can think of. I know this is probably the longest written review of all time but i honestly can t speak enough of Rhapsody. All in all, the atmosphere is a beautiful representation of a Hungarian/European restaurant, the food is to die for and the service is immaculate. 10/10 P.s. Who doesnt want to support a family owned business in this day and age? Dine in or take out, it s GAS!
BEST HUNGARIAN FOOD EVER! It s a must go-to. The vibe is on par, and the service is fantastic- nicest people you will ever meet thank you guys for letting me take a salt jar lol
Cozy restaurant, delicious food :) Thank you very much!
Very delicious authentic Hungarian food . Also fantastic music. Remind me of our trip in Budapest.
Food that brings me back to Europe
Great restaurant
I was at Rhapsody for dinner recently with my husband, son and daughter in law for a little celebration. We had a wonderful evening. The staff were extremely friendly, the food was delicious and the portion sizes were huge! We were delighted with the very talented entertainer who made sure we had some personal serenading. Especially loved his hats! Definitely recommend this place! Thanks for a lovely evening.
Got take-out for the first time, and it did not disappoint. The size of the schnitzel was huge, and the sides were large portions as well.
Its a shame that Hungarian goulash is made from pork, a big mistake...
Never disappointed. I had Schnitzel with red cabbage- cucumber salad - potatoes. Chicken soup is delicious. Portions are huge. Service is wonderful. Take home - so dessert was possible. Parking on Yonge Street is my only concern as a senior with walking limitations. Parking: Not the greatest.
Nice family restaurant. Huge portions. 3 of us took variety plate for two and couldn t finish.
Been going for years. Great food, great staff!
Too say you get what you pay for is an understatement, you better be hungry when you arrive as you won t be when you leave, Celebrated my Dads and youngest son Birthday 1st time in 2 years 3 generations of family were together and the service and meal didn t disappoint us spending time together is the best gift adding good food makes it memorable. Don t pass this place up try it once and your hooked. The only draw back not espresso to finish it off but still a 5 check out the pic of the Wiener schnitzel. Enjoy a real European experience.
Great food, Huge portions, and excellent ambiance.
I visited this restaurant last weekend with my family. The food was very delicious - they give big portions, so worth the money spent. The service is also exceptional - staff are very attentive to your needs. Great for big groups. I also appreciated the live music, that was a nice touch! Met the owner and chef, very nice and friendly. Will definitely make another visit again in the future!
My wife is Hungarian and the food here takes her back to childhood. Grandma s chicken paprikash with those tiny egg dumplings ! The best in the world .The atmosphere is so European and cozy . Dietary restrictions: Cabbage rolls and salad are gluten free !
T h e food was extremely fresh!
Food serving is impeccable but it s a bit blunt. But price wise is Good. In terms of drinks no much choices. Parking: Hmmm depends what day and time you come go eat. But surely we didn t pay and we park at the street in the certain time.
Best Hungarian cuisine, consistently. We drive an hour to eat at Rhapsody.
Good music, good vibes, and good food! My first experience trying Hungarian food and it was amazing. It was filling and easy to share, great place to enjoy some live music and indulge in traditional Hungarian foods. Highly recommend it!
Great place for having dinner and listening to live music. The atmosphere and service are excellent with massive portion sizes for the food. You will have enough food left over for the next 2 days.
Bring your appetite, Generous servings..
Took the family there for dinner on a Saturday night and it was fantastic. Food was delicious and servers are fantastic. Nice band to accompany the meal and all in all it was a great night. Food : 5/5
Amazingly good. Plates are 30 dlls, bit are absolutely aboundant and well served, so don t get discouraged with the price. Try the schnitzel cordon blue
Delicious comfort food, good service, live music and big portions! For the most part pretty authentic Hungarian food. Totally satisfied.
My wife and I went to this restaurant with a reservation at 6:30 pm and NOBODY ever told us it was going to be a longer than normal wait. After waiting approx. 1 hr. we asked our waitress when we would get the order. We thought she would say just a few more minutes but instead she stated how there were other tables also waiting like us and so it would be at least another 10 more minutes. Upon hearing this we asked if we could get a Ghoulash soup to tied us over on the house to which she said she would have to check. After a few moments, we were told they could give us a measly salad (cause lettuce and bacon bits is SOOOOO filling right !!) and the owner came out to say that they were very busy and the kitchen was backed up. At $30 per person, one would expect a restaurant to not be so greedy for money as to maximize on reservations they can t deal with (other patrons complained they had to wait 1.5 hrs time to get their food also), or to be so bloody cheap that they cant afford to comp a customer a lousy soup just to keep them happy and deal with their hunger (bet they would have spit in it because they felt we were being difficult making a scene in front of other patrons, but who knows!). We will NEVER set foot in this restaurant ever again and were happy to walk out and not give them a penny of our money. Oh yeah, everybody, one more thing, when you go to the washroom and there is no soap to wash your hands, that is your sign that there is going to be something very bad with your dining experience and you should just leave right away!!! Maybe, they cant afford soap, as well as more staff, to deal with their capacity backlog????
The regular breaded schnitzel tasted bland. The size of the schnitzel is huge but the meat was too thin (1 mm thick). I would recommend they reduce the diameter by half and provide thicker meat. Fix the quality of the batter and the oil or both. Improve the method so the breading sticks to the meat. The waitresses were excellent.
Great food, with live music, Hungarian atmosphere, reasonable prices. Highly recommend Food : 5/5
People nice, food delicious and tones of it, live music. Cant go wrong.
Good food. Huge plates... Food
Excellent food and the service was very good. Food prep time was a bit slow but I enjoyed it and will be back. Food
Great tasting, authentic dishes! Portions are guaranteed to satisfy! My new go-to in Richmond Hill!
Massive portions and tasty! The violinist and pianist were amazing! Very nice, first-time experience.
Great restaurant to be with family
Nice Hungarian restaurant with huge portions and live entertainment
Super tasty soups!
Welcoming atmosphere and warm, friendly people who took pride in explaining about some of the Hungarian dishes we werent overly familiar with. Excellent cuisine and VERY generous portions! We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Will come again.
Delicious food, huge portions. The staff were friendly and checked on us often. Will definitely be back
Great food, friendly staff and live music!
Excellent service and the food is true Hungarian style.
Very good hungarian restaurant, i will come back for sure
Great Decor, Good Service and The Portion Sizes are Out Of This World and Delicious, Make Sure You Bring Your Appetite!
Cozy atmosphere Great service Yummy yummy food
Good & friendly service. I enjoyed a great dinner with the live music on Saturday night. I ordered the traditional Hungarian Goulash soup and Home schnitzel, they were very tasty and the portion was huge! I was so full that I could not try the Hungarian famous dessert Dobos Torta, may be next time.
Very good food and large portions. Friendly staff
Service was excellent. Only minus we found the musical entertainment too loud
Thank you very much! Everything is heavenly delicious. Izlèses, very cozy. The music is very pleasant, I really liked it. Fantastic. We will come again.
Had a very disappointing experience. First time here since the pandemic started. Made a reservation to celebrate a birthday 2 weeks in advance for 6:00 p.m. on a Saturday night and was told by our server that we could not have tea/coffee as there was someone with a 7:00 p.m. reservation. Very disorganized - if I had of been told this I would have made a 5:00 or 5:30 reservation to ensure we had more time to enjoy our dinners and evening. This is not a fast food place - its a meal you want to enjoy and experience right with time to enjoy wine, the music, your appetizer, dinner and dessert not to be rushed out when you are spending over $100 on a meal. Needless to say I left no tip.
A very hearty Hungarian restaurant with a few unique menu items, a presentable and cozy eating area that features live entertainment at certain times. Portions are large and dishes are tasty.
Good portion and authentic Hungarian foods. Good service. We will definitely visit again.
It was wonderful, from the friendly service, to the excellent food. The portions are huge and delicious. The owners were wonderful people. Always checking if everything was good.
They are excellent
Amazing dishes definitely recommended
The best Hungarian food in Ontario, incredible atmosphere, beautiful live music. Thanks.
Awesome food and service!
Great food, soooo yummy. Oh, and huge schnitzel :))
This is a really delicious Hungarian restaurant. I recommend it.
Service and food was very good with huge portions. Live music which made it very difficult to talk
Service was amazing, very present mom and pop shop style. All of the appetizers we had mushroom caps, calamari and best goulash and bean soup where AMAZING! All plates were shareable size. Entrees were authentically lacking seasoning but HUGE plates itll feed you thrice. Schnitzel cooked perfect, nofedil(spatzel) was rubbery and flavorless. Goulash flavors were PERFECT i could drink it. Live music violin and accordion were perfect for the setting. 5 STARS! (I gave it 4 because of above if u made it this far, ill be back!)
The venue was quite warm, but the food was delicious and the portions were more than fair.
Great atmosphere & friendly service. We enjoyed a nice dinner with live music. Main dishes are big portions. If you choose to dine here I wouldnt recommend the wine and deserts. Wine was terrible lol, the dobos cake was not good.
One of the most impressive restaurants I ve been to in a long time. The manager was on the ball the whole evening. Ordered the platter for 2 and had so many amazing leftovers for the next day! This is truly a special dinner spot! Loved the live music
While nothing can compare to my moms homemade cooking, this place meets my high bar!
Super delicious veal Schnitzel dinner celebrating my brother and sister in laws wedding anniversary! The portions were huge and the food was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be going back! I highly recommend you try it if you havent been!
Good size portions for the schnitzel
The best schnitzel in the town. We are visiting this restaurant at least three times per month, anytime we are so hungry . Nice and welcoming staff, reasonable price for food and drink and descent portions. The taste of their schnitzel is very close to what I had in Austria.
I was quite excited to go there as I saw a violinist playing and also I wanted to have some Eastern European food. It was nice and quite enjoyable but somehow the food wasn t that great. Musicians were professional and played classical music, valses, creating a nice atmosphere. The place is quite small and cozy. It s a little pity that the food was lower quality than we expected. But maybe we are a bit spoiled..
Excellent service and HUGE schnitzels in various meats. Also a wide variety of other Hungarian dishes. Certainly worth the visit
Great restaurant, even better staff!!! Food is so dang good!!!
Favourite restaurant to go too. Such great staff and even better food. Portion sizes are incredible. Come hungry!!
Honestly, best meal in Richmond Hill! Their schnitzel with cheese and tomato is unbeatable.
Everyone enjoyed their meal. 4 of 4 of us brought leftovers home
Amazing food and amazing atmosphere!
Unbelievable Hungarian food...portions were huge. Tasted just like grandma used to make. Friendly people, nice atmosphere, excellent value. Im going back and I live in New Jersey!
Amazing little place, live music is outstanding
An absolute treat to dine here last evening, especially with the live music and excellent ambience to go with the wonderful food and their very generous portion size. Will definitely add this to my favourite restaurants list and visit again in the future!
Good place!!
Always the BEST! If you are considering trying Rhapsody, go. Theyre busy, so make a reservation. You will want to come back. HUNGARIAN SCHNITZEL!! MMMMM! You will not be disappointed!
This authentic Hungarian restaurant is fantastic. Its like eating in my moms kitchen, right down to the hand-embroidered tablecloths of traditional Hungarian motifs. Family-run, it never disappoints with schnitzel bigger than your head. Traditional palascinta (crepes) and turos retes (cheese strudel), so delicious. Love this taste of home restaurant!
Update: still amazing food. A little pricy but portions are massive and well worth the price. Very pleasant ambience and good service. Wish there were more restaurants like that which actually cook real food and not just deep fry frozen stuff or throw it on the bbq. A true gem in an ocean of mediocre restaurants. Very good food. We were 6 and everything we ordered was delicious with a homey feel to it. The portions are big and prices are decent for what you get, we had cabbage rolls, paprikash, goulash, and of course both plain schnitzel and the hunter schnitzel and everyone loved their food, the sides are also very good, the rice perfectly cooked, the potatoes are delicious and the dumplings are also tasty in sauce and have good textures. The meats used were of good quality, and cooked perfectly. The service is why one star was off, although very friendly and attentive, also very slow. The piano player was a nice addition to the atmosphere
Very good large portions tasty Schnitzel and a not bad base surfer A real Hungarian restaurant Varied menu
These People are of excellent Heart and Soul. I met them for a few moments outside where they had a table giving away free croissants and pasta with sauce in the name of Jesus The King. I tried a croissant in Jesus name.. delicious and as asked by the kind lady I did tell people down the road that they had free food. Yeshua bless you all and it was good to see the whole family come down for a quick chat. Jesus loves us all . Amen.
Excellent food with huge portions. My first visit, I will definitely be back. Great staff so friendly.
The best Hungarian food. Highly recommend the cucumber salad. Schnitzel (amazing portion) and must try the desserts!! Palascints and Dobish cake!!
Best schnitzel in the city and goulash
This is a go to restaurant for me and my family. Amazing food, friendly staff abd great environment. We go for their schnitzels , at least 3 times per month.
Wonderful family owned restaurant food was made with pride will be going back soon
I can only recommend it to everyone I can only recommend it to everyone
It s been a while since I ve been impressed. This hidden jewel that has been in Richmond Hill for 25 years is absolutely amazing. This is a family owned, operated and blessed restaurant. The quality of the food is amazing! Fresh, top quality, tasty with great look and smell! The portions are more than plenty! We ordered the assorted dish for 2. There were 3 of us and we still had a ton to take home to eat. The smoked sausage is outstanding. The schnitzel is to die for. The cabbage rolls are heavenly. All I am saying is, if you are a Toronto foodie and you haven t tried this place, you will thank me for finding this place for you!! I look forward to going back soon. Our server was the absolute sweetest. She wanted us to have a great time. Mission accomplished.
This was a wonderful experience! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the music, service, and especially the food!! Great quality overall and I will be recommending and returning in the future :)
Too expensive although the chicken was big and a little dry...no substitutions for veg that was way overcooked.
Very good service. Clean restaurant. Huge portions of food. The food was delicious. We will be back.
The supper we had was delicious. The veal was very tender and the sides perfect. The music was a great touch.
And great experience with live music for dinner and a friendly family run environment. Amazing authentic food, the goulash schnitzel where of the best I ve had. But the staff make the experience I m a repeat customer for life. Great job guys
Great live music. Decided to eat here with my buddies. Soup was great and chicken schnitzel is unreal. I very much enjoyed this delicious Eastern European Hungarian cuisine.
The one complaint is you have no coffee or tea. That is very important after a meal.
If you havent tried this restaurant you must. Everything about this place is amazing.
Great dinner and live music experience on a Saturday night. The Homemade Gulash soup, Veal schnitzel and Cabbage Rolls were fantastic!
Love this restaurant. Best schnitzel outside of Budapest! We having been coming here with our family for 12 years. Great service and amazing food.
Great service and tasty food. Authentic Hungarian ambiance. Always a treat.
My wife and I discovered this place recently. We love it now! Getting the soup during a cold day feels and tastes simply amazing.
Old world charm. Great staff and wonderful Hungarian cuisine with generous portions. Nice ambiance with the live music but a little too loud. Overall great dining experience.
Delicious. The portion was huge. We had the platter for 2. Cooked perfect.
The cabbage rolls are great!!
Theyre VERY generous with portion sizes... so if you like European cuisine and you have an empty stomach, this is the place to be. Rhapsody doesnt serve any pork. Most of their main dishes cost $25 flat. Their staple items are veal & chicken schnitzels - which are served as one single large piece, with traditional trimmings like french fried potatoes or rice - and especially their goulash soup, which is a reliable pick as its engrained in Hungarian heritage. Any of the specialty items on their menu are safe choices.
