This Host is our go to place for many years every time we crave for Indian food. The food quality is consistent, yummy, tasty, full of flavors. The service is top notch, the interior decoration is so beautiful. Since they moved to the relatively smaller place, this is our 2nd time to visit, we enjoyed the food, service, environment as always. Highly recommend to give it a try if you are in the area.
Terrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs I ordered the Tungdi Chicken Biryani, and it was a complete disaster. The food was stale, and the chicken looked like it had fallen on the floor, then packed without a second thought. For $21.42, I expected a decent portion, but the amount of rice was shockingly small – just a handful! The smell was awful, and I’m genuinely concerned about the impact on others health. This restaurant is making a fool out of people. Do not waste your money here. Complete boycott is needed; we don’t need places like this! . I had to throw away the food, wait for 1 hour more to get new food from someone else.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Host Restaurant and was thoroughly impressed by their offerings. We ordered a variety of dishes, and each one was a delightful experience. The Tandoori Chicken Momos were a fantastic start to our meal. They were perfectly spiced and had a wonderful smoky flavor that set the tone for the rest of the evening.Next, we tried the Lazeez Truffled Naan (stuffed with spinach and cheese). This dish was a revelation; the truffle aroma combined with the creamy cheese and spinach filling made each bite a treat for the senses. The Chicken Trio was another highlight. The assortment of chicken dishes provided a great mix of flavors and textures, showcasing the culinary skills of the kitchen.Lastly, the Naan Stuffed with Chicken was simply lip-smacking. The naan was soft and fluffy, and the chicken filling was savory and delicious.Overall, Host Restaurant exceeded my expectations with its innovative and flavorful dishes. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
A family who wants to experience a good dinner but when we enter it was a tiny place that hardly you can move while eating. the foods were too spicy , the table was wiggling every move it was moving and disturbing, the price was too much , imagine 8 pieces of meat cost 40$ No aircon at all I have to get to my car and ramp up my cars aircon It is suffocating and will never ever come back again. I regret coming here . Better go somewhere else The nan bread was like a pizza dough.i feel eating a pizza dough Pricey too I can’t stay longer and enjoy my meal so I have to get out my family has no choice but to take the food at home .
I came here a few months ago with my partner, and it was so good we had to come back again. We will always choose this place when we are craving Indian. We got the Pana Puri, Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, Aloo Gobi, Cumin Rice and Galub Jamun. The service is always great and the food is even better. We have tried Galub Jamun and Angoori Rasmalai off the dessert menu and they are most definitely our favourite!
I recently dined at Host, and I must say, it was an absolute treat for the senses. The food was not just delicious but truly authentic, capturing the essence of Indian cuisine flawlessly. Each dish was bursting with flavor and made with the freshest ingredients, showcasing the chef's mastery of spices and techniques. Moreover, the quality of the food was exceptional, with every bite leaving me craving for more. From the fragrant biryanis to the creamy curries and crispy samosas, every dish was a culinary masterpiece. Aside from the outstanding food, the customer service was impeccable. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Their warm hospitality added to the overall charm of the restaurant, making me feel welcomed and valued as a guest.
We stop by for brunch at this location. Beautiful decorations. Friendly service. Calm and relaxing atmosphere. Food tasted fantastic, spicy, flavorful. Freshly baked nann with goat curry or butter chicken are best combination. Definitely return for dinner.
Loved the ambiance. Excellent and authentic Indian food. Quality and quantity were satisfactory. Loved the presentation and service. If you like Indian food, go there. You will not be disappointed. I ordered ala carte, can’t speak of their buffet though.
Amazing food in the entire GTA.
Got the palak paneer and chicken biriyani to go and both were absolutely delicious. Will definitely order from here again!
Food was good but the buffet is not worth the price. There are better places in Brampton and Markham area.
Very good food and service. Although I like atmosphere in old facility more.
I thought I am going to buffet , last year they have restaurant on highway 7 ,which I experienced it was good ,we can try several foods, but now they are running in a small shop, no combo in any food,if you buy rice they will not even give or suggest daal or curry with that, I spent $366 but not eaten food properly, Rasmalai $9.95+tax two piece.,gazar halwa too sweet, naan $10.5 each. After paying all this ,no satisfaction. I suggest not to go to this restaurant,I feel tandoori flame is 100 times better than this .
Food was excellent, service was friendly and respectful, place is impeccable. Dival was our server and he ensured that all of us were taken care of. We will certainly visit again when in the area.
Utterly mediocre and an unpleasant ambiance. Everyone is squeezed together in this tiny restaurant.
I just had dinner at their new location. And I must say .. the food was absolutely delicious! My family and I ordered the mila zula maansa appetizer (assorted items) butter chicken, lamb roganjosh, Raita and garlic naans. The food was so tasty and flavourful. The serve was great, so attentive and quick! I definitely recommend anyone who loves Indian food, to give this place a try!!
The food was delicious! Definitely will be returning. The service, the food, the ambiance are all great at this location!
Average food, high price show off restaurant
Had lunch with work team . good food and service
Great ambience and fabulous food !!
Loved everything we ordered here. Right from the starters till the dessert, every bite of it was good. We ordered the pakora platter and Delhi chaat for the starters, various breads and paneer tawa masala along with Malai kofta for the main course and kulfi for the dessert.. All the dishes tasted authentic and would highly recommend this place for anyone who loves Indian flavours !
Do not order food from this restaurant, garbage
Good quality indian food. Fresh and tasty.
Only good thing about this location was the buffet and they have gotten rid of it. Cheers!
I was there few days back. I forgot the name food i ordered, I just ordered one of the chicken mills. I only had half of the plate. After an hour, I had bloated stomach as if poisoned. I was there for lunch, but all night I was feeling bloated and I could not digest the food. The only thing i can think of, the food was not fresh.
Totally disappointed, I have visited on Jun 30th 2024 total of 4 adults and one child, the quality of food is not the same like before, portions are so small for the amount of money they are charging its not worth visiting this restaurant. No buffet anymore, I ordered Tandoori Chicken, so awful, tasted like cardboard, Okra is not the same it used to be before, no taste. I ordered 2 plain rice, the portion is one small cup size they charged $5.00 each with tax, its ridiculous. overall disappointed, dont waste your money at this place. On top of this they added tip themselves, totally shocked. Anyway I got my lesson, I will never visit again this place. There are lots of other Indian restaurants in that area. Each nan is $5.50 plus tax, come on.
Great service and a responsive restaurant.
Truly lived up to its name. First time back since moving away for work years ago but the food is just as unbelievable as we remember. Intimate atmosphere and incredibly welcoming staff. Top notch service. Can t wait to return. Could not recommend it any more.
Flavours, service and food quality were great. This place is a gem.
We recently ordered takeout here and would highly recommend it. The food was amazing and the restaurant was very accommodating to our requests. The price is also very competitive, especially for a well established restaurant in the area. The online ordering was also very easy to use. I recommend the paneer makhni and fish ambarsari.
Super delicious food amazing vibe!! One of the best indian restaurants to go to. Exceptional service provided by Shubham. Incredible guy! Thank you for making my experience a memorable one!!
The salmon was superb and not overcooked. The chicken, cauliflower and eggplant were all delicious, but not exceptional. The garlic naan was very nicely done. Dessert was exceptional, rasmalai. This is a small and tastefully designed restaurant With impressive attention to detail. The service is professional and friendly. We will definitely go back.
Worst experience ever. Never come here
Food was really good however the service was awful. Never refilled our drinks without us asking and briyani came out 25 minutes after everything else overpriced for the service you get.
Great customer service in the New location. Food was very good. DIVAL served us and even gave us a complimentary naan, he was so nice!! Wait was a bit long, but not bad. Would definitely come again! Food
I came here to pick up an order and Shubham greeted me and was very polite and professional. Thank you for the great experience ;)
Fantastic authentic Indian food. Even when it was busy, we received great service! Shout out to Shubham for being a great server!
Went to new location. Beautiful restaurant with excellent service and food. Enjoyed the lamb and chicken. The naan was the softest and most delicious Ive tried. Well worth the visit.
Service was amazing! The chef made a custom vegetarian dish since we asked for it. Would highly recommend!
Archana Sethi at The Host provides the best service I have experienced. She has always taken personal interest in me as a client and supported me in putting together a menu to service at my daughters wedding. More recently, Archana assisted me with my Eid party and a catering order for my workplace. The Host provides food with love and takes their role in the hospitality industry seriously. I recommend The Host for a wonderful dining experience. I must mention that their price point is reasonable, and their servings are generous.
This restaurant serves some of the best Indian cuisine in the GTA. Its perfect for special occasions and offers authentic Indian dishes.
No more buffet there. They moved to different location recently.
Me and my partner throughly enjoyed our meal here tonight! Absolutely amazing service and excellent food. Some of the best Indian i ve had with all the dishes being very delicious. We loved the butter chicken and aloo gobi.
Worst service
First time here and it was great! Food was amazing and service was top notch. Will definitely be back!
Welcome
Went for Lunch with family and friends, ambience was good, and welcoming. The food presentation was good, taste was just ok, as the Paneer and chicken pieces were not tasting fresh and soft but the preparation was good. Service was good but the server was not using the name of dishes per menu instead was using generic names making it loose its exclusivity, for example Menu has Banta Soda which instantly takes you down the memory lanes of back home. But he brought it saying heres your fresh lime soda! I tasted it with a doubt of its actually Banta or not. Overall ok place to visit, Definitely scope for improvement in the quality of protein using for curries.
I went on April 26 at 1:30 and it was closed.
Had the most amazing experience at The Host Richmond Hill for Mothers Day lunch. The service, atmosphere, staff, and food were simply amazing!! Dival served us and even gave us dessert on the house. Highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a classy venue. I will definitely frequent this place myself going forward.
Staff is good food is not
We had an amazing time at The Host. Dival and his staff were incredibly accommodating and very professional. Our family event went very smooth thanks to their excellent service and delicious food. I would highly recommend them.
Butter Nan, Curry Lamb, Tandoori Chicken, Palak Paneer, all ate delicious Good environment and Services!
I was a bit taken aback by the new location as it was my first time at that spot. I miss the old location and always went there every year when I visit Toronto. I came to the new location, got over the initial shock and quite liked it. Tastefully designed, clean, modern and intimate feeling. The food was of course wonderful as always. I loved it! The service was also very good, and I appreciate the boss lady checking in on us to make sure everything is ok. Thats a nice touch! Great outing here and I look forward to my next dinner here!
Went to the new location. It s beautiful! Service and food as excellent as ever! Still one of my favourite Indian restaurants in the GTA!
The butter chicken amongst the homemade naan and their wide selection of food during the lunch buffet literally had me on the verge of tears because of how good the food was. I ve never experienced such happinesss from a restaurant before!
We had Dinner tonight at the Host Restaurant Markham. A big group. We had Excellent Service. Wonderful Food. Warm Atmosphere. Friendly Staff and an Fantastic Evening out at Host. While all staff was excellent , Dival the Manager was indeed Exemplary. He went beyond duty to make sure we were comfortable, satisfied and were being taken care off. We certainly will be going back to Host. I encourage you to try them. Give Dival a Call. Excellent job Dival and Staff. Mahantji Dr. Balliram Chadee
A rare Indian restaurant that has maintained its high standards. Congratulations.
All reviews are subjective. My experience and taste may not be the same as yours. First, the positives: Excellent service. Normally, I find service at Indian restaurants slow and simply not up to par. Here, the service was very good. Our server was attentive and quick, and for a party of 9, literally made zero mistakes. The owner, Archana, came by our table a couple of times to check up on us. As we were celebrating my birthday, she even provided dessert free of charge. I thought this was a very thoughtful and generous gesture. Now the negatives: 1. The pictures you see for The Host - Richmond Hill are false. We picked this restaurant based on the pictures under Vibe. We were expecting a large, spacious place. What we found was a very small place with no more than about 8-9 tables, all very close to each other. One of the people in our group actually felt claustrophobic. I am not sure why they would post pictures that are not of this location. I think maybe one or two pictures depict this restaurant, the rest are simply not true. 2. Overall, food was very bland, clearly catering to the non-Indian community. I ordered chicken vindaloo. If you know anything about vindaloo, any vindaloo dish is supposed to be pretty spicy. Not here. Spice level was probably about 1 out of 5. We also ordered chicken biryani. It literally had no taste and tested like rice crispy. Extremely bland. There was a lot of chicken and lamb dishes, but no chicken sheek kababs. This is a staple appy or main dish at any Indian restaurant, and we were surprised they did not have it on the menu. I cannot give this place more than 2 stars. The those 2 stars are only based on the very good service. We will not be returning here. I feel bad for giving this review as the owner was very gracious, friendly and attentive. However, the food and the vibe killed it for us. Sorry.
Amazing food and great recommendations from the server. Since moving locations, the space is much more cozy and intimate, with friendly and hospitanle staff. Food quality is still top notch. 10/10 would come back again!
Truely Lovely service, favorite Indian food for years and years. New location is more modern concept but still authentic feel. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level
The old Host was much better in terms of food, space, and decor. This new branch is not spacious. That is the first disappointment. Then, the food we used to enjoy as a buffet for one dishs price is not available, and that is another down feature. I am disappointed in general. I dont say that the food tastes bad . For two people, it may be a good spot but not for a family.
I really like the interior design in the new location, beautiful. The service was great, the owner (I think) came around asking if all was well, and was very happy to accommodate my group. The food is delicious, I got the goat on bairyni, it was spicy but delicious, and the yogurt was so helpful. Their Naan was soft and fluffy, but had that nice chewiness I like. My companions got the butter chicken, and they liked it. Please note that this is a new location and it is no longer buffet style. Vegetarian options: I didnt get a veggie meal but I saw lots of options.
Had a fantastic dinner with great service and atmosphere!!
Worst experience, made us wait soo long like 3.5 hours to get table and food.
They are closed for renovation and only open for takeout. However it does not mention that on their google listing. They are not open for dine in. It says it in the owner statement but not overview
We had heard good reviews from a friend and decided to Order food from here and it was just horrible . We ordered Awadhi malai kofta, murgh tikka, lachha parantha , Gulab jamun and Ras malai. Dessert items were average , not great . But the main course was very bad . Malai kofta had no taste , and ended up giving me a stomachache . Murgh tikka was just raw and non edible . We had to just throw it away. Overall horrible place and not recommended at all
It was a wonderful experience. Atmosphere beautiful. Staff amazing and food. Delicious.
So excited about the re-opening. Great food. Great people. Great time.
Thanks to Dival and Management. I had a wonderful time with my friends. The food was delicious especially the lentils soup with chicken. Dival, our waiter was superb. Will come again..
The best indian restaurant in town .. Can t miss it .. loved the new location .. a must must visit .. :)
The Host is back! Smaller place however but same great food. Ambiance is quaint and elegant and the service is excellent as usual. We enjoyed the mango Lassi, chicken Tondoori, garlic naan and the shrimp curry. Masala chai and rasmalai were wonderful evening end features...simply fantastic.
Ordered food from them yesterday murg malai, rajasthani mutton and chicken 65 and naans. Mostly there food is good but this time they messed it up a lot. I felt there is no salt or spice in all three dishes. The naans were super thick, dry and chewy. Only thing that had a little bit flavour was chicken 65 but that too lacked salt in it.
We didn t realize the Host had moved and we thought google maps was leading us astray. We fortunately discovered the new location and we lucked out and got a table without a reservation. This was our first time to the new location and it was excellent. Although we really liked the food at old location, the cuisine tonight was amazing. The paneer, seekh kabob, naan, chai tea and rasmalai were all outstanding. The staff and ambience were top notch. Highly recommend!
Overpriced and limited food choices. Ordered Paneer Tikka which is $19 and got 4 small Paneer cubes, and the taste was also not that good which can justify the price. Malai Kofta was also not tasty, though Dal Makhani was fine. A fine dine place, cosy ambience but food quality and taste needs to be improved. Prices are too high which should be improved to justify the quantity of food provided or food quantity should be increased. There are two branches of The host in this area, this review is for the fine dine one. (Richmond Hill)
try for the frist time good quality food & excellent customer service highly recommended
food was amazing specialy chicken lababdar and service was very good .
I ordered a few items a few hours ago. One of the items Gajar halwa had mold on it! I do not think I would be ordering or eating at this place ever again.
Reviewing just to get the buffet back and restaurant
Found a long hair in my rice, they just swapped out a new bowl of barely warm rice. The manager Archana reached out and had offered to correct the situation by email, gave a reply to my review to make it look like she was handling the situation, then did not ever respond back. Poor attempt and poor service. Place has gone down hill over the years.
They have moved the location which was difficult to find. We drove around for 30 mins to get there. It would be helpful if they posted it on google maps.
they have closed down.
Really bad takeout. Very oily. Small portion. Barely any meat in the meat curries.
Overall great place .. prices are good ND quality is amazing. Really great time.
The food, service , staff everything was amazing. The vibes of the place just loved it. The interiors, design, cleanliness, menu everything was perfect.
Best Indian buffet in town! Vegetarian options: Veg and meat options clearly separated and labeled Food : 5/5 |
My complaint was really well handled by the owner. She ensured the desert was immediately thrown out . She took personal interest , educated and ensured her staff doesn t repeat this. Amazing reciprocation and itimely action and I will visit again. It has always been great to come to host. Today was a horrible experience . Staff very sluggish and slow. They served rotten dessert. Just enough to make us suffer from food poisoning . Treble experience and horrible service .
Good food Traditional ambience and interiors Good service Food : 5/5
Love this place and the food tastes so great. They have been around for so long and the quality hadnt gone down which is amazing. The only criticism Ill mention is that our first server was not so polite. He was rushing us to make a decision when we just sat down. Im glad we ended up having a different one who was helpful and pleasant.
The atmosphere is nice and relaxing! The staff are friendly and attentive. It wasn t overly packed which I liked. The food was DELICIOUS and hot and fresh. The garlic nann is heavenly and the service is fast. One of my favourite restaurants
Excellent wide range well prepared Indian-indian food. All items were being replenished on time, attendants and servers were prompt and warm. Lunch buffet initial had a lineup but soon it settled out. Ambience is very nice. Its pricey but its for the quality of food, service and ambience. Awesome place to have a gathering
It was great food and the service was great. We had brought a small birthday cake and they served it to us at the end. We had asked for their permission. All in all a great experience. Rajasthani Goat Karahi and Chicken Karahi were delicious!!
Just wow wow wow Nice place Food
Came here after 6 years since trying their butter chicken and naan at the Mississauga location, happy to say theyve upkept their standards and its still as delicious! Also tried the chicken trio platter and all the kebabs were delicious! The servers were very attentive and kind as well
The food was lackluster and the service was average, but what really disappointed me was that they added a 15% gratuity to my bill without my consent. This made me feel disrespected as a customer, and I believe that it is unacceptable for a restaurant to mandate tipping in this manner.
I have been coming here for as long as this location has been open. I live in downtown Toronto and it has been worth the trip up to the burbs every time. This has been one of my favorite restaurants forever including back in the day when we had Trimurti, Babur, Raaga, Dhaba, India Palace, Kama, and others here in the core. Those places were delicious in their own right and this Host has also stayed consistently delicious throughout.
Great tawa paneer!!
Venue is old and tired. Chicken kebab/tandoori buffet items are overcooked and dry. Tastes below average. There are several better options in GTA
Amazing food and wonderful service. I come often with my family and we always leave very very happy! Best Indian restaurant in the GTA
Great party hosted at the restaurant for Eid 2023 . Friendly staff, good ambience and service. Would love to come back for our next celebrations! Thanks to Luv Sharma for Great arrangements.
The host is hit and miss restaurant. It was amazing experience before the last time. The last time the food was mediocre, tandoori dry and murgh tikka did not smell right, so we returned it. However, the service is amazing and prices are very reasonable.
I would say, Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant. Buffet at this price is unmatched with so mush variety. The server/staff really cared about our experience, and delivered fast service. The food was absolutely amazing everything we tasted was yum in tum. Absolutely the best meal we had in a while. Can t wait to return and wouldn t hesitate to recommend to anyone. Highly recommend it !!!
This was our first time to have Indian cuisine in Markham. We were glad that we had picked this restaurant. The service we received was exceptional. Their food was amazingly good, we especially loved their naan and veggie curry, eggplant in tangy sauce.
I loved this place just went today to eat for my cousins wedding meet and greet and it was great they have a hall you can book with fine Indian food and some good chai and kulfi this is a great place for eating good Indian food and small weddings a birthdays
Visited here for my office meet. Staff is so nice and calm. Even food is good.
Their lunch buffet is a must have! With a wide variety of both veg and non-veg options, it also includes some good starter options with authentic street food as well, and you can choose from various sweet options present to end on a sweet note. Vegetarian options: Many veg options available in their lunch buffet and they re as tasty as the non-veg ones!
The food is good, but I wouldnt say its the best I have had. Portions are large. Ambience is great.
Good food and service. Its a busy place, which is always a good sign. The decor is getting a bit tired and could do with a refresh soon. But well definitely go back again. Thanks
Food is vile. Do not eat here
Very dark could use some lights. Restaurant could use some fresh carpets, paint and decor. It was very busy the night we went, waited for our food alittle over an hour. Wheelchair accessibility: From the parking lot there is no wheelchair access to the restaurant, have to use the mall entrance.
Delicious food, and very friendly service. The curry goat is great, and you can watch naan being freshly made. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options.
6 of us went on Friday May 6, 2023. We all loved it. The food was delicious. The waiter was helpful with selections especially as one member of our party is lactose-intolerant. Its not the cheapest but its excellent quality. I/we will definitely be going back.
Wonderful Mothers day dinner with my family. Food and services were great!
Had a great time with family and friends over dinner at the Host. Excellent food and service.
Great food, nice ambience, okay service.
Loved this place. Celebrayed my sisters special birthday and we loved every bite and every sip of masala chai. Thank you for a wonderful meal.
Highly recommended.
Not impressed. The food was very average at best (ordered malai kofta, daal makhani, butter chicken, chicken tikka, manchurian gobhi and a few appetizers). The food came out on time for the most part but the manchurian gobhi came out too early, then was inedible followed by a third try where Im fairly convinced they took out a few black pieces from the second attempt and arranged it in a different plate). The portions are reasonable but the taste mirrors an AYCE Indian buffet restaurant (similar spices and flavour regardless of what you order). They also mistakenly gave us plain naan when we ordered butter naan (which isnt a huge deal but when we asked for some butter to put on the naans it never came) Everyone came away less than impressed and we will not come back again. The servers were friendly and tried to be helpful. The rating is based on the feedback from our group (8+ people). Id personally give it a bit higher because of the service but this is mostly based on the food.
We recently did a decor setup here? Beautiful place and awesome staff! Loved their food too
Simply best! Loved it
Overpriced as per quality of the food. Not too many options for food and drinks. Appetizers were not seasoned properly and in main course it was also not that good. Only goat curry tasted good, the remaining stuffs was not as we all expected. Won t suggest unless until someone just want to waste money.
the food is greasy and oily at best; the buffet is not worth it!
Delicious food. Get in before 9:00pm, kitchen closes at 9:30. Vindaloo is sweet, should be bit spicier (not with chilli). *Thanks for the tip. Ill visit soon for an original (desi style) vindaloo. Food
Lunch Buffet The menu is very limited but the taste was excellent. The price is very nominal and the atmosphere was very good. Must try buffet. Food : 5/5
Great food and a lot of variety in buffet, especially non-veg but not for vegetarians. They need to add more vegetarian food options to the buffet.
Food taste was ordinary. Service was good. They will charge you gratuity/tip of 18% in bill. Let the customer decide how much they want to give tip on the service and quality of food. Food
Vegetarian options: All vegetables are fresh Dietary restrictions: Perfect Parking: It s always full Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
If you are in GTA and missing Indian food or want to try some, The Host is your best bet. One of the best places to have Indian food with a lot of variety and amazing taste. They also provide catering and give an extensive menu to choose from. Please see below some of the mouth watering dishes served.
Fantastic weekend lunch buffet.
the biffet was good before and now the kwaility is not good and food is nasty chicken is so dry
Customer service was so great
We use to go to the Host often before, but haven t visited them in the best 4 years. What a huge change for the worst! We went for their lunch buffet and the quality of their food has gone down drastically. On top of that the food wasn t even warm, the warmers weren t even turned on. Chicken was so cold and dried up. They had a very limited selection of food as well. We went for a birthday celebration with 8 of us and it was so disappointing and embarrassing to take my family and friends there. As well, they are the only restaurant that apparently charges kids full adult pricing for their buffet. They only considered a child pricing for under the age of 8.
The Host did an excellent job for our sons wedding! We felt really blessed to have them for the event. From the beginning - menu selection to food prep to offering - everything was rendered in a timely manner and professional way - Really, what an outstanding service they have extended! The quality of food was just AWESOME - what we had been longing for. Messers Jay Sethi, Archana Sethi, Shelly and team and their phenomenal service resembled the host. Thank you so much, the Host team! We have no reservation recommending them.
Wide selection of veg & non veg buffet (at a decent price) . Lovely atmosphere & excellent service! Would highly recommend this location. Parking: Free parking lot adjacent and also underground covered parking. Very convenient.
The slection/variety of food here is VERY limited. There are only 3 meat options- butter chicken, tandoori chicken and curried goat. 5je tandoori chicken was excellent (I had 2 servings) , but the tandoori was very dry and tasted a bit like fish. Another of my dinner companions observed the same thing. There are multiple veg dishes and salads, too. The price point, is a bit high for the variety, but the location cant be beat, as it is located right within The Sheraton Hotel. The service is pleasant and empty plates are removed quickly. It has a warm atmosphere and is maintained in a spotless fashion. The background music is kept at the right volume, to be enjoyed, without preventing conversation. Overall a good place for a quick buffet lunch/supper. Vegetarian options: There are NUMEROUS vegetarian options here from veg samosas 5o lentil soup. All are plentiful and many diners seem to enjoy them. Parking: The parking is free and located directly out front. Wheelchair accessibility: The entire building (Sheraton Hotel) is 100% accessible.
It was a party order for our friends house warming for 35 people . Food was average taste . Ordered hara bhara kebab , paneer sabzi , bhindi do pyaza , baingan , naan . Tandoori roti , salad , papdi chat , rice , ras malai , dal makhni , dahi bada etc . Not impressed with overall food taste . Packing and quantity was good though .
Oh my god what can I say My father-in-line went to sit down. We didnt know what to expect. We got our food and were we surprised. This food was amazing. Its surpassed all of our expectations. It was soul food. It was warm. It was delicious. It was flavorful and what can I say the atmosphere was pleasant, calm and inviting We will definitely be coming back with our family to share these experiences again. Food was outstanding 6 plus star over and over again coming from Windsor, Ontario. Thank you Host Davil
Good food worth a visit
Best Indian restaurant in the GTA Vegetarian options: They had a large variety of vegetarian options. Food : 5/5 |
Food is good but not a lot of variety. Friendly staff
Great place
Didn t see biryani. Came for butter chicken , unfortunately their pot is not hot but warm . Less variety. Tandoori flame is a lot better to me . And pop are not refillable . Only enjoyed the clear veggie soup!
I hosted a baby s first birthday party at The Host and it was incredible! The service, atmosphere, food, and vibes were super lovely! All my guests had such a great time. Special shout out to Mr. Love Sharma for a seamless day and all the support throughout the planning process! :)
Good food. Hara bhara cutlets were too good. Kumbh matar paneer as well. Tandoori Chicken and gobi manchurian was a disappointment. Papdi chaat, paneer tikka were good not the best but not bad either. They served us the cake we bought but they didn t refrigerate it after we asked them and them agreeing. Overall good experience but not the best.
Nice food n atmosphere but not 5 star wuality.
Food is good. But attitude of the Manager needs to change. He did not greet properly and his demeanour was not good.
Post funeral luncheon. The Maharaj room, huge. Perfect for the occasion Wheelchair accessibility: Not outside, apparently you can get access from the mall with the wheelchair Food : 5/5 |
Fast service, tasty food!
Service is slow and food is alright. Price is honestly a little bit too high.
Best Indian food hands down, highly recommend to try buffet as a lunch option.
Went to The Host with my coworkers for lunch, unfortunately I felt the all-you-can-eat didnt have some important items. They had all the dosa items, except the dosa... No Biryani either, which we were really looking forward to. However, whatever they did serve was good and the service was excellent.
Excellent place for North Indian food. It was a holiday when we went. Though there is reservation for the buffet, the restaurant was full by 12.45 pm. It was little bit noisy, typical Indian restaurant. They cater for both veg and non- veg. But, items were few, but ok. We had only veg options and tried all items. They were homely, need some improvement in taste for a restaurant. Table service, when asked for was good. The people were courteous and friendly. It will be good if they place a person to prepare chat items fresh like they do for rotis and nan. Vegetarian options: Roti, Dal, fruit salad, spring roll, sweets
***WORST RESTAURANT*** Do not waste your time and money on THE HOST Who dont know how to host I would go below 1 star if i could. We entered the restaurant after reading good reviews about it @ 9:05 closing time was 10 No server or host welcomed us when went inside to ask about it and got yelled at to wait at desk. We got seated next to the only table in the restaurant. He SLAMMED the napkins on the table as if he wasn t very happy that we came in when he was already closing one hour before the close timing (we called before going). After we got seated we were told that restaurant is closing and we need to order right now this is not even a minute after seating (literally, not exaggerating) There was only 2 tables including ours. When i told him about my appetizer course right away and asked him to give me couple more minutes for mains, he yelled again asking us to order right away he is not going to wait and kitchen is closing and stood giving us an angry look on the face. It was this moment we decided to walk out. This is the worst restaurant experience in my life. Even the other table wasn t very happy with his hospitality. They asked for tea after their drinks in the end and he refused straight on the face very arrogantly. Date September 7,23 9:05 pm Please reconsider your staff in the restaurant and hire some well qualified staff. If you were the owner of the restaurant closing that day you should be ashamed of yourself for treating your guests like this. And if you think any of the word written above is a lie please go check your cctv. Never wrote a review like this but the guy in the restaurant made me do it.
Amazing Lunch Buffet, lots of varieties great food, good ambience and very courteous staff. Enjoyed our lunch experience a lot.
Food is good. But the customer service was not satisfactory.
I came here for the lunch buffet yesterday and was impressed. It may not be the best buffet out there, but in terms of quality and price, its fantastic. It had a good variety of snacks and appetizers (chaat, samosas, vadas, pakoras, salads), main dishes (veg and non-veg curries, tandoori chicken) and desserts (rasmalai, Gulab Jamuna, kheer, custard, fruit, ice cream). The naan was made fresh and hit the spot. For $19 and in Richmond Hill, I think this was excellent.
Ok service
Less choices than before but the price is up. Food quality is good. Food : 4/5
DELICIOUS Tikka masala, perfectly spiced, so tasty- was my favourite dish. Garlic naan was also excellent. Highly recommend! To top it off, the staff are incredibly kind and gracious. Richmond hill staple.
Service was so slow!!!
Location is good Parking also good Food is ok Atmosphere is good Small place for big party Up to 40 people is good
Very warm homely ambience, very pleasant servicing. A very cheerful Mr.Mamun
This place is great. The lunch buffet is hot and delicious. Very authentic.
The Host has been around since 1995 and has been and is the standard bearer of fine Indian cuisine in Toronto. Exceptional atmosphere that teleports you straight to India, generous portions and high quality preparation, and exceptionally attentive and astute waiters and staff. The Host is the finest Indian restaurant in the GTA.
Attended a private event. The room was a generous size and excellent service. Food was tasty, served warm. Refilled food items quickly. Overall a good venue for a less than 50 people function.
Went to this place for takeout for the first time after my partner had a great sit-in meal at their downtown location a while back. Overall the food was decent (the garlic naan bread was very good), and the server was at least friendly. A number of things made the experience unsatisfactory: - the shrimp in the biryani was significantly over cooked - I had explicitly asked for mild spice on our three dishes in my online order and called the restaurant after placing the order and left a message to emphasize this because they do not seem to pick up their phone. One of the dishes was hot (spicy) and I react to heavy spice so it ruined the meal for me - the food, though ordered well in advance for a set time was 15 minutes late - while I am accustomed to generous portions from Indian restaurants, I was surprised to find one of the food containers dishes noticeably under filled. Given that it was the spiciest dish, it was not a great tragedy, just not impressed. Overall: good middle-of-the-road Indian food but with so many options in this city I would not recommend that you spend your money here - much better value to be had for your money elsewhere.
We catered our wedding day ceremony food from The Host and it was exceptionally good! We did breakfast and lunch and everyone was amazed at how good the food was! Thank you so much for all your help during the planning process, Shelly was so easy to work with and helped make suggestions! Will definitely cater from The Host again!!
One of the best Indian restaurants in Toronto. Consistently great food -try the Chicken Lababdar, classy but comfortable atmosphere, reasonable price.
We had palak paneer and naan which was the most delicious meal, but the ambience needs to be improved .The service was the worst ever seen, staff fighting among themselves as well as with guests, bringing wrong order ,which was later replaced with the correct one but we had to wait longer. We(me with my husband) were there on the 12th of August 2023 for dinner at about 8pm.
This location is closed.
We had great food and experience here, but I heard they were closed, can someone please confirm?
A perfect place to go for a team gathering or a family gathering. Love the ambience and the unique offerings on their buffet. Their a la carte in the weekday evenings are also out of the world.
This place is now closed they have moved to another location that in under construction or renovation
