Hoolala chicken
Their food was delicious, service was good. We love the eggplant/beef Dolsot bibimbap , and fried chicken.
Super lively environment with big TVs that had soccer games on. We sat down around 6:30pm and for the rest of the time we were there they had a lineup of people waiting for a seat. The staff here were all very nice and well organized, taking names down for people on the waiting list. They were also very attentive as a table next to us dropped their utensils on the floor and one of the servers immediately went to their table to offer them new ones. The food was pretty good too. The pork in the pork bone soup fell off the bone pretty well and the bones were easy to pull apart. The seafood tofu stew was also very good, and the appetizers they serve with the meals were great. We also saw another table order the seafood pancake and it looked very good. Would definitely come back.
New location for Bap.Zip 2 in Richmond hill. It is a cozy place with limited seating space, bigger groups recommend to call ahead to reserve. The menu items are not too many, easier for someone like me to make decisions. They offer very good small side dishes, including cabbage salad, which is very fresh. We Ordered: Eggplant dolslot 4/5 Traditional doslot 4/5 Rice Cakes in chili sauce plus dumplings and seaweed rolls 4/5 Overall it’s a good place if you crave some fast Korean food in the area.
Ordered: 1. Traditional Dolsot 2. King don katsu 3. Blood sausage gukbap 1. Dolsot was authentic and fresh! Freshness of each ingredient, and the combination of flavours are THE KEY, and this dolsot had both the freshness and the flavours! Yummm…. 2. Don katsu was delicious, the thickness of the meat was thick and good, and it was juicy. The batter was well fried. It was not greasy at all! The sauce tasted like homemade, very smooth and creamy. Very much enjoyed the crispy katsu and this sauce with it. 3. Gukbap was authentic, tasted was just like the one I had in Korea. I can tell the Blood sausage is fresh. I enjoyed it. Also I liked the presentation of the dishes. Everyone gets their own side dishes. Main + side dishes are placed together on a wooden tray. One tray fits all. Good presentation! The server was very nice and friendly, she time to time asked if we needed anything. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends, especially if they never tried k-food before, or if they are looking for a new restaurant that is fresh, authentic, and delicious. As a Korean myself, this place would be my go-to k-food restaurant! Happy that I found this place!👍 Next time, I’m going to try the “cold noodles” before the cold winter comes!
Thank you for the hospitality. We ordered Korean fried chicken small(12 pieces) and kids menu. Everything was perfect and we enjoyed the dinner. HAPPY MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL!!
Do NOT order KFC!!! I did a take out for two large chicken and the fries. Only came with boneless and the batter does not taste good. It tasted like very old oil. The quality of chicken was not very good either. A lot of fat and disgusting meats 😡honestly disappointed… didn’t even include the radish for the order. Would not go back again for KFC. I don’t know how they got many good reviews for KFC. It’s really really bad!!
Food: 4 Stars Service: 3 Stars Ambience: 4 Stars Value: 4 Stars Overall: 3.75 Stars I ordered takeout from Bap.zip several times, and I must say, the experience was quite delightful. The fried chicken here is simply outstanding, with a rich and delicious flavour that is hard to beat. Each bite is a burst of savory goodness, and it’s clear that they put a lot of effort into perfecting their seasoning. One of my favourite sides is the pickled radish. On my first visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous container they provided. It was more than enough to complement the meal. However, on my second visit, I noticed a significant reduction in the size of the radish container, which was a bit disappointing. The smaller portions were still tasty but not as satisfying as the larger servings I initially enjoyed. Speaking of portions, the size of the chicken pieces has also decreased over my visits. While the quality and flavour of the chicken remain top-notch, the shrinking portion sizes are a notable drawback. It’s a bit disheartening to see such a great dish being offered in smaller quantities. Despite these minor issues, the service at Bap.zip was excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient, ensuring my order was ready quickly and correctly. I visited Bap.zip for a casual dinner, hoping for a satisfying meal, and for the most part, my expectations were met. The ambiance of the restaurant is inviting, even for takeout customers, and it’s clear that they value their patrons. In summary, Bap.zip offers some of the best fried chicken in Richmond Hill with its rich and delicious flavour. The pickled radish is a great accompaniment, though I wish the portion sizes remained as generous as they once were. The quality of the food and the excellent service make it a place worth visiting, despite the minor disappointments with portion sizes. I hope they consider reverting to their more generous servings in the future, as it would undoubtedly enhance the overall experience. kellychan360
Used to be known as Hoo La La, they have this year revamped their menu and changed their name. Now serves more traditional Korean food. The soupy dishes were especially nice on a cold day. Lots of bone for the pork bone soup, so need to dig through the bone for the tender meat, but that’s the whole point of the dish. Soup is tasty. The sides are nice. Enjoyed our meal and service was great!
Taste like home sweet home Korea lol
Been here several times with my wife and family. We re always 8+ group and every time the food and service is amazing. Servers very helpful and attentive. Kitchen team sends out great food and great timing. As a chef and restaurant owner myself. I see the detail and love they put into the food. Would definitely recommend.
Service is friendly and food is juicy and tasty and yummy! I would recommend to my friend.
Love cold noodles and chicken sosososomuch. One of my favourite restaurants!!:)
Good
This review is from when the place was called Ooh La La Chicken. The secret bbq chicken is everything Love the rice cakes and corn cheese! Cajun rice are not for everyone, they are a little different. Service is great, everything is halal.
The one yon Yonge st. Somehow tastes better. Not sure why.
The staff is extremely unfriendly. Will not return no matter how nice the food is
I ordered delivery from this restaurant and picked up myself. It was awful that the paper bag broke and had leakage of the sauce. I asked the staff for an extra bag and sadly she refused in an unhelpful manner. If the food had been wrapped up nicely, it wouldn t have been such a mess.
Loved the food, attentive service. I would definitely go again
As good as Bap zip at Thornhill
Tip 10% to enjoy traditional K culture
We waited in line for a long time but they gave the seat to the person behind us
Very pleased.
The large size of the Han Guo was weak from the moment I bought it. I even thought it was thick and thick, so I took it away from the street. I had friends with 3 Xiaocai, but it turned out that it was Yaoxu Xiaocai. He also said that he could only express his feelings about it Good guy, smiling, eating so much Korean food, this is the first time I have seen this kind of rough work, Weiyis school appearance is the foundation of Xiao Fei, Shi Wu, Xiao Fei, I gave it to Shi Hou. It s really interesting that she hasn t opened a new one yet.
is good. Can t find it uptown Toronto. Pork bone soup is average. Overall, I ll give 3.8 Food
Went with a friend, she can t finish her second bite on the glass noodle, too saucy. I had pork bone soup to test the water. The portion is a lot less, plain rice, no kimchi side dishes. This is $19 pork bone soup, are you kidding me?
It s really hard to give good review even the food is actually pretty good. We have been there a few times, but I think this will be my last visit. I ve noticed many negative reviews mentioning the service, and I have to agree. I felt like the server disliked us, maybe we re Chinese customers. She treats Korean customers way much better than us. I don t think we re the first to feel this way, and we probably won t be the last. She never greeted us, always had a poker face, showed no enthusiasm, and never checked if we needed anything. Honestly, we re spending money not just for the food but for the service too. We even left a tip despite the horrible experience. If she s an employee, please address this issue. If she s the owner, then good luck.
A bit understaffed for a busy weekend but the staff was quite friendly. The dishes are of great portion and taste. Really enjoyed the homemade dumplings and the cold noodle! Food
Poor service and impolite waiter
I unfortunately contracted salmonella eating lunch here. I was able to pinpoint this restaurant as the culprit because my partner (who feels completely fine) and I had the same breakfast and dinner, but ordered our own dishes at Hoolala. I tried one of my partner s chicken wings, but my partner did not have any of my boneless chicken. I am now 4 days in and still symptomatic. The food tasted decent, however the original BBQ boneless chicken was a tad too sweet while the garlic chicken wings tasted only faintly of garlic. Service was friendly, but was definitely not worth the food poisoning.
The stuff there act like she hates us for some reason. When we came in, she didn t greet us, just ask how many ppl we have. but when some Koreans came in later, she greeted them warmly. Even when the place was empty, she wouldn t let us sit at a four-person table. Plus, the portion of food she gave us was only half of what the Koreans next to us got. I don t know if it s racism or what, but even when we raised our hands to get her attention, she ignored us. And when it was time to pay, she even asked me for a tip.
The bibimbap is good, and the blood sausage is also delicious.
Fantastic service, great food
Already eat lots of time!!! Really verrrrrrrry delicious, the best Korean Hot Stone Dolsot Bibimbap especially Eggplant Dolsot!!! Assorted Korean-style Sauseges also very good!
Not so authentic Korean food. The pork bone soup is quite bland, side dishes were very odd and had no kimchi, and the fried chicken w secret sauce was very greasy and tasted more like a chinese sauce.
The best Bulgogi Ive ever head, better than most prominent Korean restaurants in Toronto and restaurants in Korea itself. Should give it a try. Meat was tender, smoky and less sweet than usual. Green veggies were very well done. Absolute gem.
Halal Korean fried chicken was good but the secret spicy chicken was not spicy, but rather sweet.
I ve been a huge fan of Bap.Zips bibimbap, so much so that I recently paid $42 for a single bowl through UberEats. I completely understand how difficult it is to run a small business, especially with the fees that platforms like UberEats take from business owners. I try to support small businesses as much as I can, but I was really disappointed with what I received. The bowl was half the size I expected, with no utensils (even though I requested them) and no Korean hot sauce. I hope the business owner reads this and considers the impact on their loyal customers. If prices are raised on UberEats, please ensure that the portion size doesn t decrease to this extent. Thank you!
Best pork soup in town! Came multiple times and it still tastes as good as u may imagine.
This is now my favorite for blood sausage soup. Its the best confort food on rainy, chilly days. The soup was flavourful, there was a variety of blood sausage, meat, and other meat parts, the side dishes were different from the standard potato and cabbage kimchi. And best of all, I liked their 2 extra sauces on top of basic salt and pepper.
Best Korean restaurant in the town. Beside Richmond hill green park. We tried cold noodle and Korean style blood sausage. Really delicious. And good service
This new restaurant opened in Richmond Green called Bap.Zip. My friend went to their another location and recommended to me. The eggplant bibimbap is so good. It s my fav bibimbap place to go in Toronto now.
Delicious Food
Really good food, quick friendly service. Definitely 5 stars
Authentic Korean food and attentive service
it is delicious
My wife and I have been going to Hoolala for sometime so to find out they re gone and now was taken over by Bap.zip is a downer. Anyways we always order our usual chicken with various sauces/flavour. We give it a try and we re both extremely disappointed with the portion (for $20: NOT worth it), quality and flavour. It literally tastes close to a standard ready meals dish of chicken from T&T or any Chinese restaurant.
Tasty bibimbap (a bit too rich for our likings), steak and eggplant offerings are both unique and memorable. Fried chicken options are tasty as well. In the service area though, maybe having just 1 server is way too optimistic. Despite not expecting much service, it s underwhelming and probably easily solved with 1-2 addition servers. Kid-friendliness: Have a kid specific meal option which is pretty unique and nicely packaged.
Hit up Bap.zip in Richmond Hill for lunch today with a buddy of mine. He copped the daily special Pork Bone Soup while I tried something Ive never had before, Soy Shrimp Bibimbap, raw soy marinated shrimp, egg yolk, chili pepper and furikake on a bed of rice. Both of us enjoyed our meals and the service was on point. My meal was listed under the Cold Bibimbap section, but it wasnt cold in the least so dont let that deter you if you arent into cold meals. The soy shrimp were more room temp and the rice was warm/hot. They came with the head on and a deshelled body. The texture may not be for everyone, but if youve had shrimp sashimi then youll understand what the texture is like. Included with the meal was a seaweed soup, cubed radish kimchi, japchae and a salad which you can ask the wait staff for some refills. Definitely a tasty meal and Ill be taking my family back so they can try some items themselves. A solid 8.1 and its worth a visit. #TomEatsYummyFoodBecauseWhyNot
First visit and tried the pork bone soup. Was not asked for spice level nor did I mention it but the flavour was just right. (mild) I would come back again to try the KFC. The restaurant is clean and staff is friendly. Food : 4/5
Very delicious food. My favorite is steak and asparagus bibimbap and pork cutlets. Very nice service.
Very bad food and very bad service. Ive never tasted fried chicken and pork bone soup so bad.
Tried their pork bone soup and really liked it but the bulgogi dolsot was a miss. Ordered from Uber eats and they did not give the hot sauce. Full of veggies but very little meat.
Kid-friendliness: Kids Meal available Food
Clean, delicious food made with sincerity, just like moms table, and the owners sense of taste~ The interior is good too The open space is bright and nice, and the private rooms are cozy. Parking: Thornhill Korean Food Plaza, parking for about 100 cars
Very juicy fried chicken, very sweet on the flavors. Very large portions!
Authentic Korean food with menu items not available elsewhere. Really enjoyed the food and great service. The kitchen does need some additional ventilation on a hot summer day though.
We ordered one Port Bone Soup, which was unbelievable tasteless!! 1. Bone is big and meat is small. 2. Tastes without any favors! I believe it is not enough cook time. 3. Still, it is very small pot and asked for $19!! Overall, food rate as 2 stars only or even 1 star. The service and atmosphere are fine.
Excellent and tasty food that is priced very reasonable! Vegetarian options: Have only vegi Dietary restrictions: Can make it keto based
very good Services
Food was okay, just like the another location. However their service was terrible. Walked in at 2pm on a weekend, and there was only one staff for a few customers. My friend and I waited five minutes just to get seated. We had to ask for water and waited another five minutes for a bottle with an unhygienic stopper that had a red stain. To top it off, the staff kept staring at us to see how much tip we would leave. Extremely disappointing experience.
Came here, no AC, it was extremely warm inside. I got the bibimbop. The lady brought over my food and I never saw her again. I finished my meal and went to pay. I put no tip on the machine. The lady says no tip?? I looked at her and replied no service no tip. I love tipping but there was nothing to tip unfortunately.
Google map show open until 10pm I already came at 8:30pm for order pickup and is not open
Excellent meal. We got spicy pork dolsot, soon tofu and green onion Korean fried chicken. Everything was tasty but the chicken was exceptionally good! Loved the banchan as well. Vegetarian options: Veggie dolsot Parking: Many Kid-friendliness: Big space Wheelchair accessibility: No steps
Tteokbokki was just okay and tasted pretty regular. I prefer the one at Woojoo but I liked how the rice cakes weren t too soft. The fried chicken was nice and juicy though.
Bap.zip ( ) is a Korean restaurant that delights diners with its authentic flavors and cozy ambiance. The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Korean dishes, from savory bibimbap to mouthwatering bulgogi. Each dish is prepared with care and attention to detail, ensuring a delicious and satisfying dining experience. The warm and welcoming atmosphere invites guests to relax and enjoy their meal, while the friendly staff provide attentive service. Whether youre a fan of Korean cuisine or trying it for the first time, Bap.zip promises a culinary journey that will leave you craving more.
I had a Bulgogi dolsot bipbimbap and spicy fried chicken. All the ingredients in the dolsot were fresh and tasty and the chicken was well marinated, crispy and the sauce was mildly spicy and sweet. Service was nice an quick. I had the dolsot in front of me within minutes and the chicken came shortly after.
Food was delicious and great presentation. Our server was awesome. Will definitely be back!
Clean relaxed atmosphere. Delicious dolsot bibimbap, and more importantly they dont skimp on the toppings like many places are doing now. The fried chicken is also well-portioned with a good selection of sauces you can choose from, with several spicy options. Itll be interesting to see if they add a cheese powder topping option in the future.
Food was good, but not mind-blowingly good. 4/5 Spicy Pork Dolsot - Had a decent amount of meat and overall flavouring was good! 3.5/5 Ttbokboki - The dish appeared to be large, but in reality, there wasn t much content to it. Could ve used more rice cake or cabbage. 4.2/5 Fried Chicken - A bit expensive for what it was. We had The Secret sauce but I wasn t super impressed with it. It was good chicken, good batter, good flavour. 3.5/5 King Donkatsu - Had way too much sauce. A few minutes in, the batter was all soaked and soggy. Not too much seating, maybe a total of approx. 30 seats. So beware of long wait if you come during peak dining hours.
The food was very tasty and fresh the environment of the restaurant was great the service was fast the servers were friendly and very helpful the portions were a bit small but thats the whole point of buffets cause it gives us the chance to try more variety of food. Compared to the food quality and the whole experience the price for the buffet is very reasonable
New korean restaurant in Richmond Hill
Delicious and Soothing Korean food! And also Korean Fried Chicken!
its a good place to drink beer..
Dishes were all great, 5-star deserving and owners gave a complimentary dish to try
Food is great, service is superb!!! I can eat here everyday
It is an amazing place to eat korean authentic food. Highly recommend their eggplant dolsot which is very unique and so yummy. Good portion and reasonable price. I love their Tteokbokki and fired chicken. Atmosphere and services are amazing.
Bat.Zip 2 provided a fantastic dining experience. The Korean chicken with secret spicy sauce and tteok-bokki were absolutely delicious. The service was outstanding, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal. Perfect spot for a date night with my girlfriend.
We have come here to eat lots of times, fabulous food and great service all the time!
Great food and very friendly staff!
Amazing food and top notch service
Super filling, great tasting, and fantastic service! I had the traditional dolsot and it was way more food than I thought. Really enjoyed the side dishes that came with it (radish kimchi, glass noodles, cabbage with sesame dressing) and I like that they provide a pot of tea at the table.
Ordered Gukbap for takeout and they gave us no rice. So we re having gukbap without bap, aka bean sprout soup for $18.
No more fried chicken. Seems now changed to Bap Zip. Review not valid until I try this new by Piggy (whichI tried and like alot).
Service was slow considering we were the only table there. We added ramen and dumplings to tteokbokki and it was just enough food. Without it, it felt a bit lacking in portion size. Squid dolsot was good. Note: they took over the Hoolala Chicken reviews. They do have fried chicken on the menu, but not the charcoal bbq.
Delicious! Kinda hope more rice is provided :)
great restaurant with great food
Bulgogi bibimbap is ok. Raw vegetable bibimbap is not worth the price. Very small portion of vegetables. Reco getting bulgogi instead of raw vege since they are in the same price range.
bring back the fried chicken
extremely impressed by the staff who spoke multiple languages (korean, english, Mandarin), good food!
2024 update: my 5 star review was for the venue when it was called HooLaLa chicken and if was phenomenal. Since then it has changed names and we didnt find the quality of food to be anywhere near the same as when it was called HooLaLa chicken. It is no longer part of our regular line up. Review from 2022: This place is going to be part of our regular line up. We ordered a small ($16) order of soy garlic Korean fried chicken (which comes with fries) and a small order (also $16) of the original charcoal grilled chicken which comes with a side of Cajun rice. You also get free cole slaw and pickled daikon. The food here is delicious, especially the charcoal grilled chicken, which has a beautiful smoky flavour (this was my favourite dish of the meal). I also love how the charcoal chicken has some Korean rice cakes in the dish and it takes on the smoky flavour too. I wish you could order the rice cakes as a side dish (I need more!!! Lol). The chicken here is incredibly juicy, moist and perfectly cooked. Its not too salty or oily so its perfect fried. The fries are phenomenal, crunchy on the outside and soft like mashed potatoes on the inside. We upgraded our fries to snow fries for an extra $5 which has shredded mozzarella and this orange cheese powder on top. I could do without the orange powder but the shredded mozzarella was tasty, just not sure if its worth $5 extra. If I got the snow fries again, Id ask them to hold back on that orange cheese powder. The Cajun rice goes really well with the chicken and its a nicely seasoned accompaniment. The service here is also great, staff are friendly and food comes quickly after ordering. Heads up that you get a 10% discount for paying cash and any extra sauces ordered cost extra for about $2. Id highly recommend coming here and trying both versions of the chicken.
The dishes were tasty but somewhat expensive. The fried chicken portion was quite small for $26. The blood sausage soup didn t have a lot of sausage and meat. I wish for the side dishes they provided kimchi. The portions here are small for the price, but service and atmosphere here are both great.
Dropped by for a lunch date with a friend and this place did not disappoint! The server was attentive and so friendly. The food was nicely portioned and priced fairly for the lunch specials in my opinion!
Great staff The food is amazing Highly recommend Parking: Lots of parking available Kid-friendliness: The staff are very friendly and welcoming
Best korean food restaurant. Is was Hoolala chiken before, the same owner just changed to new menu. Pork gukbap and Eggplant dolsot are my best pick.
I m just happy that we finally have a decent Korean restaurant in our area. My top favorites are the Myungdong King Katsu and the Bibimbap they re simply delicious. The fresh banchans are a real highlight, much better than the dry and old ones at other places. It s great to have a go-to spot for regular dining out.
Great place even with the rebrand! The chicken was REALLY good especially the green onion. Super impressed with the staff as well, felt super taken care of. Great place to eat with friends.
Seems to be a relatively new rebrand as it was previously Hoolala Chicken. It was my first time trying out this spot, and I had a great experience. The menu had a decent variety of options to choose from. The eggplant bibimbap was good with generous portions of toppings. The price may seem steep, but the portions make up for it. The pork bone soup also had generous pork bones. It was quite busy on a weekend night, so the wait time was around 15-20 mins. It took a bit of time to get the food but it was understandable due to the busy rush. I highly recommend coming in for dinner in the earlier hours.
The food is ok, but bad service. Charging extra tips when we are a group over 5 people.
I love the soy shrimp! Food is tasty, serves is great
went here with my boyfriend and it was amazing!! the chilli chicken was so good and spicy but the sauce had a little sweetness to balance it out! the bbq chicken on the hot grill was amazing!! the ricecakes were honestly perfectly cooked and super chewy. the snow cheese fries were also so so good. i wish they would spread the cheese out a bit more so all the fries were covered. snow fries are a bit sweet so keep that in mind if you don t like sweet and savoury. would definitely reccomend! great halal spot DISCLAIMER: i had gone to this place when it was called hoolalaa chicken. not the rebrand.
Food and service was good. Only criticism is that i found the portions to be a bit small.
Found hair in the chicken, I couldnt eat after that. He apologized for it but was not ready to accept that the hair was in the chicken. Instead, he said we dont have anyone with short hair. The lady chef was short haired. I came back quietly because I didnt want to create a scene.
The food was very good. Solid 9/10 on the food. The chili chicken was very good. The only problem I had with it is that the sauce was all at the bottom and the chicken wasn t already coated in it. Once you dip the chicken into the sauce, it is really good. The other two flavors that we got were also incredible. I wish they had chopsticks though.
The quality is getting worse.. It used to be a good place with delicious grilled chickens. But well, pretty sad..
Terrible packaging, oil got everywhere!
Love this place!
I loved it. Really good food and to top things up it is also all halal meat
good taste
A bit far from where I live but always stopping by when around the area. Chicken is always good and fresh, especially the Secret BBQ Spicy is my #1 choice!
Chicken very tender
Best of Best
Vibe: 5/5 Music: KPOP & Pop Cleanliness: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Overall the chicken was great and juicy, and they had Moosehead on tap. Definitely no need to go to North York for Fried Chicken now.
Super friendly service and food was exceptional!
Fantastic Korean Fried Chicken Restaurant in Richmond Hill, ON. If you want to have a great chimaek (chicken and beer) experience, this is the place! The fried chicken is fried to perfection, golden and crispy. Also, Hoolala has a bbq boneless chicken menu, which makes an excellent addition to the chimaek combo! The price ranges similar to other korean fried chicken restaurants, however, this provides a richer fried chicken experience.
So~~ nice place! The fried chicken and tokbokki are awesome. And draft beer is very fresh!! I loved here
The chicken is very good. Highly recommend.
Love their chicken! so good!
An amazing restaurant. Large portions and the servers were absolutely attentive. The fried chicken are fresh and large pieces and full of flavor. We had mix fried chicken, dry and with sauce - the sauce was perfectly seasoned, snow fries and the best fried Korean rice cakes with spicy sauce. Their Cajun fried rice and cheese corn is so delicious, my kids ate all of it. Highly recommend and will return. It was consistently flowing with customers during a very busy Friday night both for take out and dine in. Dietary restrictions: Halal
We like the Korean fried chicken
This place has amazing korean style fry chicken. You must go and try! Staffs are very friendly and resturant is very clean. My family loved this place!!
The food was so good. The chicken was crispy and I loved the BBQ chicken. The workers were also very nice.
My friends told me this place was great so I took my family with me and gave it a go. The food was really good and my kids enjoyed it to. We ordered honey garlic fried chicken, secret fried chicken, rice cakes, corn cheese and cajun rice. I would recommened this resturant to people and would love to go again!
The food was so amazing, their service was really nice, the waiters and waitresses were really polite and they got all my orders right, the food was the PERFECT portion, and the food had a lot of flavour and I loved every single part of that experience and I recommend everyone to at least try once in their lifetime, their chicken was the exact perfect crisp and the meat was so juicy and tender. Their rice cakes were fried really nicely and there were no burns, everything had its own perfection and I 100% recommend their food.
This was the most amazing restaurant I have ever been too. I would definitely recommend people going there at least once. I would also recommend the honey garlic chicken, spicy fried chicken, and/or the rice cake. The interior design was flawless and the service there was AMAZING! This is 100% my favourite Korean restaurant of all time!
This place was SPECTACULAR! I loved it here and I would definitely come here again. The service was stunning and the food here was breathtaking just like the decor. Anybody reading this and not tasting the food there, just letting you know, YOU HAVE TO COME HERE!
Their original and the kimchi fried chicken are Must try. Way better than Church Chicken of the mainstream. Each order around $20, and got 8 to 10 pieces. Weve also order a pincher of Craft beer, very nice.
I am a regular and have been there more than 10 times! Haha, the soy sauce skin is so delicious!! The best soy sauce chicken I ve ever had in Canada! The chicken served as a service was also delicious!! thank you:)
Garlic fried chicken and their hot bbq grilled chicken is
the taste surprised me
Authentic korean place, the server was nice enough to give us a table for 4 because we had extra luggage. Service was fast, the chicken was delicious and juicy. I will be coming back again
w store played daniel ceaser
Honestly was quite impressed with the chicken here because there are a lot of KFC spots and I liked how Hoolala has a grilled chicken option. The BBQ sauce one was probably the best and we asked to add rice cakes into the sauce which paired very well. Would recommend this spot and does serve HALAL chicken for anyone that has this restriction. Would go again. Dietary restrictions: Halal restuarant
Would def come back!! Food, vibes, and customer service are all amazing! Highly recommend
Very good Korean fried chicken. I dont recommend takeout. I recommend eating in. Because take-out portions are a little different than in-store portions. But the order isnt due until 11:00 p.m. Actually, they refuse to order from 10:30 to 40. So please mark your actual closing times and non-ordering times on Google Maps. This can be frustrating for people who have come from far away.
Fantastic food! Really enjoyed the new lunch menu.
Very delicious Chicken
as the name suggests Hoolala indeed! Excellent food, great taste and lovely environment to eat it all in! Definitely recommend you check this one out! the place offers Halal cuisine so they re catering to quite the large clientele!
Went there on Friday night. Loved the food and service. We ordered original fried chicken 10/10 And cheese corns 10/10 Hot sauce 2/10 One thing we didnt like was there was huge crowd waiting outside and 2 tables very empty just because they were reserved and group of people who reserved it showed after an hour or so.
We live in the area but only knew about the store through an IG foodie. Chickens are as tasty as other wellknown Korean chicken places. And a good vibe
Very delicious!! You can eat crispy chicken almost same as Korean chicken restaurant.
This Korean fried chicken spot has my heart. The secret fried is my go to because it s so good freshly made AND the next morning, cold. Definitely recommend.
Stopped here for a casual bite with my family of 5. My kids wanted Korean fried chicken. There was nothing remarkable different or unique about their friend Chicken. It felt more like a Canadian-Korean fusion restaurant rather than authentic. The hoola bbq chicken reminded us of Bourbon Street Grill. They probably use the same sauce. We were just expecting that Korean difference. Unless that is how it should taste - then no different than mall food court food. The servers were friendly and helped us with ordering their top Eats. The restaurant was clean, warm and inviting. The music was a very nice touch to the atmosphere.
Great service! Awesome halal KFC. Hugeeee portions too. Clearly freshly made! Would reccomend :)
My favorite restaurant No.1 Korean !! Food : 5/5
Really good Korean fried chicken. We ordered 2 half orders so we could try 2 different flavours: the secret fried and the soy honey fried. I was surprised to see it came with some fries which was a nice touch. Sauces were good and the chicken was nicely battered. The boxes we got were stuffed and I think a half order would be good to share for 2 people. Would highly recommend and come back.
Portion sizes are very large, we brought a lot home. Their spicy chicken could be a bit spicer, and we found the batter to be a bit soggy compared to other places we ve tried. Overall not bad and service was pretty friendly. The place gets busy quick so if you re going for lunch I d suggest getting there around opening time.
Best fried chicken restaurants I ever been too.
I m thankful that a place like this opened close to my house. Its been a while since I had a good time with my friends. Its all good, but the one thing thats disappointing is that they dont kill the greasy chicken. I would like you to add one soup menu. Instead of rice cake holder, its soup rice cake wrapper or spicy udon. Like Jjambbong,???
24 Celsius and no A.C but fan running by the door. Got bbq grill chicken in their special sauce along with rice cake. Chicken sauce was classic Korean seasoning. No veggies but a lot chicken skin I personally do not like chicken skin so had to pick if all off. It is served with Cajun rice. To honest, disappointed in their rice selection. It was some cheap rice small grain but no seasoning. I wish they used Jasmin or any other Asian rice than fake and cheap rice. I also got their half garlic chicken wing. Delicious served with fries. Breaded was crispy and sauce nice and garlicky. But restaurant was soo hot and humid. I truly couldnt enjoy my food. Did I mention its an open kitchen. Sooo all the grilling and frying steam continues to make the place warm. Pls get A.C but thanks for serving chill water bottle and side 2 pickle radish.
Great Korean chicken
The food was great, excellent service the portions are a bit big.
The secret fried was the best. The hot bbq boneless grilled chicken with rice cakes was alright, but I wasnt really feeling the texture. The soy and honey fried was good too, but the secret fried really takes the cake. Order the half, not the full. We had 6 people ordered 3 halves and it was more than enough. Cajun rice was tasty but a bit dry. Good with the leftover sauce from the chicken. Rice cake was an interesting experience, I would have that again. Fries were standard, yummy. The pickles radishes palate cleanser was surprisingly delicious. Service was a little slow. Price was good, affordable. I would go back only for the secret fried chicken.
food was pretty good, ordered the garlic fried chicken. you end up feeling full way faster than you think tho (I felt full after 3 pieces). fries were reallyyy good I especially loved the playlist. 10/10. armys, this is your place Dietary restrictions: all chicken is halal!!! so nice that us muslims get to enjoy this delicious cuisine as well :))
Nice
Great good, service was on point and very considerate. It was rainy day and one of my friend was looking for soup dish which they didn t have. They may have overheard our conversation and later they served us korean spicy ramen on the house!! Super touched and we loved it.
Excellent halal fried chicken - love their garlic sauce. We ve been coming back several times to try all their flavours - always exceeds expectations. Great customer service and we enjoy their side dishes as well. Highly recommend! Dietary restrictions: Halal
Solid Korean fried chicken. Ordered the Secret Fried and Soy Honey Fried, and I liked the Soy Honey Fried a bit more but both flavours were delicious. Visually it s very appealing, and on the outside the sauce and crispiness are on point. But as with most Korean fried chicken joints, the chicken meat itself is lacking in terms of flavour and juiciness, which I guess is made up for by the flavour of the sauce. Overall, better KorFC than most joints, the ambiance is nice, and the dishes are plated well for those IG photos.
Really appreciated the service. Our first time there as a family and they were able to make great recommendations on flavors, dishes, and quantity. Really good flavors and crunch and portion sized appropriately. For those who are interested it is halal with certificate on display.
Amazing food and friendly staff. The kbbq spicy was bit too spicy for us but it was still great! The original bbq was perfect and if you like green onion i recommend you to add it on the side. I took secrete bbq home and it was the best even after it cooled down. It kinda reminds me of in a sweet version
The food tasted amazing! The place is cute and small, but the service was pleasant.
Our chicken took 45 minutes to show up. Workers were in hoolala-land I guess. We were offered free drinks. Chicken was good tho would come back.
I missed the charcoal grilled chicken back in Korea and this place knows how to cook and season their food perfectly. Def coming back!
I had food poisoning here after being served raw chicken. When we pointed it out to the server he just took it back re cooked it and put it back on the same plate
We came ordered (take-out) because of the reviews. We were told the chicken was a good size, lots of quantity, etc. We bought the 8 pieces with fries. The food tasted excellent. What wasnt good was the portions. 3 of the chicken pieces were the size of chicken wings or smaller and the fries...well, my 13 year old counted 16 small pieces of friends. Not even a handful. For the taste I would recommend this place. For portions and for what we paid, we would try another Korean place. Too bad as they were about 600 meters from our home.
Amazing Korean fried chicken! When my fiancée and I went, it was quite busy as it was a Saturday evening. But we got a table quickly. The staff were nice. Definitely will return to this place.
Bbq items were super! Highly recommend them.
It was a Tuesday so I got the Specia sauce Wings Special and it was delightful. The fries are perfectly crispy and pillowy on the inside. The chicken was also good, and I loved how the sauce had a spicy kick. The person serving us today was the owner, shes incredibly sweet and on top of things, but not overly intrusive. Loved her so much and the place. Overall 5/5
Came here for lunch with my husband and it was not too busy so we could pick wherever we wanted to sit, I noticed most people come in for takeout. We ordered the Secret sauce grilled chicken that came with mini rice cakes and I picked a side of cajun rice + lunch special chicken burger with fries. Both were surprisingly so good, I really enjoyed the batter for the chicken burger and the sauce i chose mild was perfect. I remember coming here a few years ago and the chicken was so so, maybe they changed chefs? But everything hit the spot!! Music and service was good too! Looking forward to making this a regular spot now!
Great place for Korean chicken, get the secret chicken boneless its my favorite, standard prices
Food was excellent topped with great service. Our first time here. Tried there secret sauce one in barbeque and other is fried, for us fried won. Sauce was really good, perfectly cooked chicken. Had Raman spicy noodles which were excellent. Definitely coming back
The taste is completely different from what I had in Korea. Eat only sprinkle chicken, I couldnt eat the rest because it didnt suit my taste. If foreigners know the taste of chicken eaten in mainland Korea, Its so delicious I think youll be surprised. But this place is so disappointing!
Went with my wife and 2 kids. Server was friendly and very attentive. Would come again.
Ordered original fried chicken, corn cheese and nachos. Fried chicken and corn cheese were so delicious. Chicken was very crispy. Nachos need to be improved. Customer service was excellent.. definitely visit them again
We decided to try this place a few weeks ago and took advantage of their lunch specials. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the chicken and waffles. The food was freshly made to order with the exceptional waffles which seemed like they were frozen and just reheated in a toaster oven. The house salad is fresh and comes with a very simple vinaigrette but it provides a nice balance to the fried chicken. To add the salad was a bit extra but well worth it as it comes with a pop. As of October 2023, The restaurant has some daily specials: Tuesday was wings, Monday was the KFC original flavour I believe so check out their website for the most up-to-date information or call. Parking: Located in a plaza, this has ample parking for restaurant size.
Absolutely delicious and Halal
First time visit. Food was fantastic and the service spectacular!!!! Thank you for a wonderful first experience.
So good. its such a good value, staff are great, and the food just hits the Korean fried chicken craving
Food was good, we had the fried chicken, recommend the special sauce.
Decent chicken and space. 3 star more from service than from chicken itself. I enjoyed the grilled chicken platter in secret sauce best. Chicken and waffles comes with original chicken with a solid flavour and crunch to the waffles. The soy chicken is crunchy and sweet, a nice safe choice. Not my favourite korean fried chicken place but would go again because of the thorough and attentive service with helpful suggestions. Thoughtful as I came in with stroller and toddler and they tried figure out best way to have them safely out of the way to have food served ans comfortably sitting
Awesome food and people!
Their oven baked chicken is so delicious and rich in flavour. I love that the chicken comes with the tteokbokki (rice cake) mixed in with it because the sauce is so good for both. You can also get crispy tteokbokki as a side dish. Their sets come with cajun fried rice which really compliments the dish but also tastes amazing on its own. We love to come here for their food but also because the owner and staff are so wonderful and kind! Nice portions for the price and great atmosphere too!
salad bowl was tasty but in the expense of salt and MSG. ordered bone-in, but at least half r bone-less, seemed the kitchen was struggling to avoid cooked rare bone-in complains and the cooking time.... the shop front window pane became a nuisance whenever a car park - the headlights would flood the whole restaurant....
Portion keeps decreasing . Same price as before but only 1/3 of original amount. Two small boxes cost $50. Complete rip off.
This business refused to accept American Express despite advertising it at the door and at their Point of Sale as well as being on the official American Express list of merchants website. A rather unethical way of circumventing credit card fees.
Went there with my friend, the place was really quiet and enjoyable. I got the spiciest fried chicken and boy, it was amazingly hot The staff was worried and brought me congee to help cool down my mouth. Much appreciated, I would stop by again !
Great little Korean fried chicken spot! The portions arent too overwhelming and their fries are crispy on the outside soft on the inside, just the way I like it. Their spicy isnt too spicy either. Good choice for the area since there arent that many KFC options!
It s disappointing to have to give this restaurant 3 stars as they definitely have 5-star potential. The menu has false advertisements. Chicken and waffles says it comes with whipped butter and maple syrup , but it comes with table syrup and a chunk of cold, hard butter that is difficult to spread. The chicken portion is also very small - an adequate amount for 1/2 waffles served. I understand food costs are high right now, but it s better to increase your prices than to sacrifice the quality and integrity of the food you serve. If you feel you must reduce quality, at least disclose it on your menu.
Amazing halal food, an absolute must have!
Halal Korean Fried Chicken.....simply WOW. Lots of options and variety as well.
First time trying Korean BBQ. Food and service was fantastic. The flavor profile of all the dishes was amazing. The nachos were yummy!!Recommend the fried chicken and you can pick your sauce. You wont be disappointed!!
Got food poisoning from eating here.
Nice Korean BBQ halal restaurant to go to with friends! Dietary restrictions: Halal Food : 4/5 |
The Secret KFC boneless is a must try.
First time customer, called in 2 hours ahead before pick up time. Ordered a large original fried chicken to go... Small one is listed as 8 piece so I was assuming the large one with almost double the price would be 16 pieces...only in 1 box. The size we received.. those should be called as chick not chicken. All pieces are very small in size.. I ate The Fry and bb.q chicken before and their chicken piece size are at least 20% bigger. Or you could imagine that other KFC places would be using the same size take out box but only filled with chicken pieces.. the fries took up half the box size. I rather they dont include the fries but give proper portion of chicken. The taste was good and it was still crispy when we got home. However, will not go back as it doesnt worth the price.
