Elegant venue specializing in refined Chinese seafood dishes, along with dim sum & wine.
I visited this establishment with a party of 10 for dinner and we shared different dishes. All tasted amazing. I especially liked the lamb rack and stir fry beef cubes. Service was great. Although I had read otherwise in some reviews. It might have helped that we were there with a Chinese friend who took care of ordering.
Came here for dim sum on Saturday we made a reservation for 1pm. The atmosphere is very nice here and the dim sum is tasty! We ordered a handful of dishes including the charcoal steamed custard bun which was delicious! Looked extremely fancy with the brushed gold! The seafood dishes here are great! We got a seafood glutenous fried rice, tasty! And the Har Gow was very large portions! We found the price overall to be good, not too expensive and seemed very reasonable!
We celebrated a small birthday dinner here and we had a great experience! The service was great in that there was always someone around, refilling our tea, removing dishes, etc. There was some confusion on the portion size of the sushi (they were unsure how many pieces came in a serving), but it ended up working out that we ordered enough. The food tasted delicious! The duck was roasted to perfection, the black cod had a nice sear, and the portions were all quite generous. Overall, it was a great meal to splurge on and we all left happy. The smaller room we sat in was a bonus as we wanted a bit more privacy compared to what the large dining room offered. Would recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back!
Dropped by this place early to avoid long queues. Tried their dimsum for quick brunch. It was okay, the only good thing was the siu mai. The rest were average. Deep fried shrimp ball was mushy. They made a good effort on the bbq pork bun. Not worth lining up for. Maybe the long lines were for their lunch menu. Will come back to try those some other time.
Great and fast service. Dim Sum is amazing. Comparable to dim sum from Vancouver, definitely more affordable and the seating was more comfortable! Early dim sum before 11am small medium large is the same price!
I’ve been here for dim sum dine-in before and recently got takeout from here. Their dim sum is definitely elevated and quality is up there, such as truffle har gow and abalone tart. Of course this is not reflected in the price. It’s sort of your ‘special occasion once in a while’ dim sum spot.
Went there for Dim sum today. Overall very satisfied. Not the very best but very good. Prices are fair for the kind of place it is. Service was exceptional and the place was very clean and tidy. Dining area was spacious and well maintained. If you are in for a good meal in a comfortable setting, Yu Seafood is the place you want to be. Very highly recommended!
Second time here and it was better than the first. Service is good and consistent. Dim sum is pretty decent overall but some exceptions. The soup dumpling is really just a giant seafood meatball rather than the traditional kind with the different chunks of seafood. The interior is really nice but they need to reconsider the bathroom tiles which gets super slippery when wet which is always since every stall has its own sink.
The dim sum at Yushanfang tastes good! There will be a return! The waiter knew that the two of us didnt have much to eat, so when we paid the bill, he automatically brought us several lunch boxes to pack. Although we were assigned to sit in the small dining room, the waiter did not neglect the customers in the small dining room and would come in to take a look. Dont drive around to find a waiter! This is worthy of praise!
Good food, very fresh tasty king crab
I love the quality of dimsum and environment in the restaurant. Quality of seafood is fresh Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair
Was looking to eat here as it seems to have good reviews. However, was appalled to find out that they serve sharks fin soup. There surely is no justification to be doing that as it encourages shark finning which fortunately has been banned in multiple countries. To serve this dish is selfish and totally unnecessary.
Ordered the small sashimi plate, the fish was fresh but I didnt like all the items that was served. The Peking duck was nicely done as was the lobster. The stir fried bean sprout was quite bland and didnt have much taste to it. Overall a good dining experience.
Pretty good and not expensive at all it cost me it even 50 bucks for those dim sum not bad at all will be back
The morning tea was delicious, but I wish the quality of the shrimp dumplings could be more stable.
Very good
Update: Went to Yu Seafood for dim sum on a Sunday afternoon and noticed they ve done some renovations. The new interior looks great modern and upscale but still feels familiar. What I really appreciated is that the quality of the food and service hasn t changed at all. The dim sum was just as good as I remembered everything was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly even though the restaurant was packed. The shrimp dumplings and egg tarts are still a must-try, and the staff were attentive without being overbearing. It s nice to see them update the space without losing what made the place special. If you re in the area, it s definitely worth stopping by. - I recently had the pleasure of dining at Yu Seafood for dim sum on a Sunday, and I must say that it was an extremely enjoyable experience. We arrived at the restaurant at around 11:30am, and we knew that it would be busy, but we were not prepared for the 1 1/2 hour wait that we ended up having to endure. However, the wait was worth it as the restaurant was beautifully appointed and the atmosphere was lively and energetic. The restaurant was filled with the sounds of happy diners chatting and laughing, and the smell of delicious food wafted through the air. One thing that I would recommend to anyone planning to dine at Yu Seafood on a weekend is to go early and leave your cell phone number with the hostess so that you can be notified when your table is ready. This will save you a lot of time waiting around and allow you to enjoy your meal that much sooner. Once we were seated, we were greeted by our server who was extremely friendly and attentive. She was able to recommend a variety of dishes to us and explained the different options available. We ended up ordering a variety of dim sum items, including dumplings, bao buns, and siu mai, as well as some fried rice and chow mein. One thing that really impressed me about Yu Seafood was the cleanliness of the washrooms. Not only were they impeccably clean, but they also had mouthwash available for guests to use, which was a nice touch. The restaurant itself was also impeccably clean and well-maintained, and the beautiful decor added to the overall atmosphere. The staff at Yu Seafood were also a highlight of the experience. They were all extremely friendly and attentive, making sure that we had everything we needed and checking on us regularly throughout the meal. They were always willing to refill our tea and bring us more food, and they even brought us some complimentary desserts at the end of the meal. As for the food, it was beautifully plated and tasted absolutely delicious. The dim sum was cooked to perfection and was bursting with flavor. The dumplings were delicate and flavorful, and the bao buns were soft and fluffy. The fried rice and chow mein were also delicious, and we finished every last bite. The dim sum at Yu Seafood was reasonably priced, although it was on the premium side. However, given the high quality of the food and the overall experience, I would say that it was well worth it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a nice dining experience and for taking friends or family. The atmosphere is lively and the staff is extremely friendly, and the food is beautifully plated and tastes absolutely delicious. Just be prepared for a wait on weekends and make sure to go early and leave your cell phone number for a table. You wont be disappointed!
Came during a weekday happy hour. Dim sum was amazing. Service was very good. Atmosphere is definitely upscale. Would definitely recommend even without the discount.
Worst restaurant ever, 3 of us spent over $1000 for the kingcrab dinner there and the food came out was horrible, garbage. The service there was so bad, especially the manager there who was the old skinny guy with glasses he got a very bad attitude and show no respect toward the customers, we all vowed never come back there again and i would not recommend this place to any one . Peoples stay away from this place .
The service people let customers they know in directly without waiting in line. You have to wait at least 40min more because of this. Very bad service!!
The food and service were exceptional. Our server Felix was patient and informative- offered suggestions when asked while making it a wonderful experience for all of us. We will be returning soon! Food
Service and atmosphere were great, but food is good, not amazing.
Great upscale DimSum at Yorkdale. Love the interiors love their take on certain traditional dimsum dishes.
Kayan was an amazing sever, beautiful food..
I had a very disappointing experience at Yu Seafood. There are so many things they could do better. People dine out for a good experience, not to feel scrutinized when pointing out the different treatment a waiter gives to certain customers. There was no apology or acknowledgment whatsoever after I raised the issue. I will NEVER go there again and will share this experience with my friends and family.
Quality food and quality service. I recommend the Hong Kong style fried lobster, lamb chops, lobster fried rice, & the Peking duck. The presentation and decor is immaculate.
Professional staff, food was excellent. Went for dim sum and the portions are bigger than usual dimsum places.
We had a lovely meal here today . Kayan provided friendly excellent service
Great food and great servers especially Kenny Parking: Long line up because a lot of people go on weekends Food : 5/5 |
High end fine dinner place good for seafood. Very special decorations Chinese style. Also pretty good for dim sum, rapid response to service request, friendly. Most important, taste really good. Price is reasonable.
Food is always good, service could be better as they constantly change servers, and also there is always fruit flies which are not pleasant for a good dine in experience
Overall food was ok, but for this price i expected something much better. And the room was crowded. The receptionist was kind of rude Food
A bit of a long wait but for good reason. Dimsum was delicious and service really quick.
Great service from Kenny. Food is delicious.
Some amazing classics at this restaurant, along with dishes that offer a modern twist. Highly recommend Yu Seafood for a relaxing dim sum meal with great food!
I ve been attending the Yu Seafood for years, and am confident that it is amongst the most prestigious restaurants offering Chinese-Japanese crossover cuisines in GTA, let alone it be the most outstanding in York Region. Their food taste & cooking style appeal universally to all ages, and of different ethical: Italiano, Spanish, Asian etc. Customer services & atmosphere are amazing wherein you may relax & enjoy with genuine fine dining experience. Special credit to their excellent management.
Compare with the last two done-in experiences, I felt the food has been less flavour and derailed. In jellyfish dish, the cucumber and radish were chopped chunky so they have no flavour at all. Also the free-ranged chicken could use some better chicken.
Excellent services, staff are very nice. Food is perfect. Everyone in my group enjoyed the night.
The first choice for drinking tea The snacks are delicious I like Miss Yoyo s service, she is considerate and attentive
It s a nice meeting place for business meeting and romantic dinners. The price is quite reasonable for what we had. We had half of the food leftover.
Came to celebrate my birthday, wonderful service from Kenny!
kenny service is good and the good is always delicious
Very good service and food for dim sum. However long waits to be seated as it was very busy
The food quality is very good, the staff are polite, the place is clean and tidy, comfortable and highly recommended
Awesome food! Comfortable atmosphere! Wonderful service! Especially server Yoyo! Super friendly! Recommend to everyone!
Good service, good environment, good food, highly recommended
My and my friends waited table for 1 and half hours when they first notices us to that there is only 30 minutes wait. This place is ridiculous and I really don t think it s worth the wait.
Ordered takeout. Found everything to be good/okay. Thoughtfully packaged and great temperature control. Radish cake: Good, as expected. Steamed sticky rice with chicken in lotus leaf: Well wrapped. Chicken was a bit dry, rice was perfect Bamboo charcoal & egg yolk bun: Similar to the frozen steamables/almost exactly the same. Good. BBQ pork bun: A bit on the dry side for the bao and filling. Lots of dough in the dough to filling ratio. BBQ pork puff pastry: Exceptional pastry, flaky. Slightly dry filling. Sago crispy baked pudding: Delicious Har gow: MASSIVE, in the best way possible. Well worth it. Pan Cake w/nuts and Matcha: Great texture, not too sweet. Baked chicken pastry with curry sauce: Beautiful pastry, delicious filling, super tasty curry sauce Steamed shrimp and veggie rice roll: Not so many veggies, but large, fresh shrimp were great. Overall good. The curry pastry really blew my mind.
I dont often go for the highest-end dim sum, but I left this place well impressed. The dishes I sampled were classics, but were made with notable creativity and refinement and plated with precision. Moreover, all the staff I saw were disciplined, efficient and courteous. These qualities reminded me of the best places Ive visited in China and in my humble opinion, sets this restaurant apart from many of its local peers.
I was here again this weekend for a dinner with my family. Ive been here so many times Ive lost count. Every time, its always had the same quality of food and service. Today our waiter was a kind man named Kenny. He cleaned up about 4 times after my little brother who spilled a water, knocked over cookies, and whatever else he could get his hands on. A place I will definitely be coming back to again and definitely recommend going to.
It was our first time at this restaurant for dimsum and I have to say, it was pretty good! When you enter, you can join the waitlist by entering your name and number and it ll tell you how many groups are in front of you. We came around 10am on a Wednesday and only waited for 20 minutes. The restaurant was very modern yet had traditional touches all around. My husband and I ordered 9 dim sum dishes because we wanted to try everything haha. The portions were larger than expected. Our server Kenny was so sweet and nice. He was also very attentive and cleared the finished dishes right away so that it wasn t so crowded on our table. The other staff were also very friendly. Another thing I really liked were the bathrooms. They were individual stalls with a sink and mirror in each. It was clean and even had mouthwash for you to use. I ll be back in the future for sure.
Overall service is good. Food is decent, but some dishes are really salty. Seafood is good, lobster is fresh and delicious. Good place for entertain family and friends.
Friendly good food.
High quality ingredients. Attention to detail and very authentic. MUST check out. There s something for everyone here.
I had dim sum. Not many choices. Expensive not worth it.
Excellent
Excellent quality Lobster was very tasty Food
Clean, spacious, good variety of dim sum... The Small, medium and large dim sum were all the same price which was nice.
Everything was fine except theyve a hour and a half dining time so for that reason they kind of in a hurry to serve everything. If you were having a small meal it would been ok but we have a big meal and we didnt like the idea of being too rush and not able to enjoy it.
Kenny was wondering
This place was pretty good, but nothing extremely outstanding. We ordered lobster, which was decent. The Peking duck was very savoury and flavourful. The restaurant was well decorated and spacious, but the bathroom is quite a walk away, compared to what Im used to. Might come back one day!
Food quality is mediocre. Theres also a time restraint during the early morning period when a discount is offered. Youre only allowed to stay for one and a half hours. Price of dim sum is at the high end.
Wonderful dim sum in a posh setting. Very popular so reservations are recommended.
Loud but tasty dim sum.
My family and I were here in August to celebrate my father s birthday and we had a really great time. Our server Wendy, and Angie went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied with the food and service. I also requested if they offered anything special for birthdays, and Angie was kind enough to bring out a robot that plays the Happy Birthday song (both servers sang as well) and provided us with the traditional Chinese birthday buns. We left so happy!
The set menu I ordered was missing the roasted duck, and they asked me to choose another dish instead. However, they told me that I could only choose a dish worth the cost price of the duck (30 CAD), even though the original price of the duck is 108 CAD. It was their fault for running out of the duck, and they didn t notify me when I ordered the set menu. In the end, they only offered me a 30 CAD dish as compensation, which left me shocked. I m extremely dissatisfied with this experience. Today is my birthday, and this situation has made me very upset.
I must say it was an incredible experience! The seafood dishes were fresh and perfectly cooked. The flavors were authentic, and the variety on the menu was impressive. I especially loved the salt and pepper shrimp and the steamed fish, which was incredibly tender and flavorful.
Dim sum selection is good, delicious, and afforable. The charcoal bun with the yolk was so soft, definitely the best Ive ever had.
An authentic and upscale Cantonese restaurant; however, theres room for improvements in services.
Service was below average. There was a slight language barrier but they looked almost annoyed to respond in English. Food was not good enough to allow this treatment towards my group. Whenever we asked for things like water or a missing chair, we would need to ask repeatedly before it ll come. Siu Mai was good though!
So far so good
Booked a private room. Kenny was our host. He was exceptionally friendly and funny. Great service and amazing food
The environment is very good, the food is okay, the waiters are always busy
Morning tea tastes good
The lobster set meal we had was delicious and highly recommended. Ka Yans service is particularly good!
Amazing food and service
We went for dim sum for the first time today and left very satisfied. Everything was delicious. The Yu Signature Seafood Fried Rice was unique and my favorite. The Peking duck was the groups favorite. Our waiter Kenny was kind and attentive. We will return. Highly recommend.
Excellent dim sum!!! We travel from Mississauga for this incredible experience.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME - Terrible booking service and rude! Tried the Richmond location several times.
A reservation was made a week prior for our large group for weekend dim sum, and we were seated in a smaller area in the restaurant. When we arrived, it was busy, and a screen showed the number of parties waiting ahead. There was also parking available in the plaza. There were various dim sum options, and service was speedy. The food was delicious and tasted very fresh. Our final price was reasonable per person. There is a wheelchair-accessible washroom on the main floor and individual restrooms upstairs. Overall, we are delighted with our dining experience at Yu Seafood!
The only thing is they do not take credit card
Went here on a Saturday night with family. We ordered various meat and seafood dishes. We honestly found the food to be overpriced and mediocre with more than half the dishes being too salty for our liking, so 3 stars for that. Services was not great; we were in an enclosed area with 2 other tables and 1 server was looking after the 3 tables. These were the things that made me give 2 stars for service: 1) Our food initially was brought into the room by a busser and she placed it on another table for the server to serve to us however the server was not available at that time so our food got cold while waiting for the server to come back to serve it to us... when she couldve easily placed it on our tables. This happened for 2 of the 5 dishes we ordered. 2) All of our food also took forever to come out. Our first 2 dishes came out first, then shortly after our 3rd dish came out. And we literally waited for a full hour for our last 2 dishes to come out and they were pretty simple dishes (fried rice and garlic stir fried pea shoots). So of course, by the time we finished our 3 dishes, the last two came out. 3) Shortly after we started eating, the other 2 tables had left. And it seemed like our server left with them because it was difficult to find him when we needed something. I understand that he likely needed to help out with the main hall tables but it wouldve been nice to be checked on intermittently (especially being in an enclosed area). 5 stars for atmosphere as the restaurant was really well decorated and washrooms were clean.
Nice place for dim sum. The front desk Rita is so rude and unfriendly. There s a long line waiting and guess she s having a bad day.
This is a great dim sum shop! Vegetarian options are plentiful! I like their fast service. The robot waiters are pretty cool too.
In my opinion, the food and service here were both subpar compared to the yorkdale location, especially service wise. This location has the usual service level where hosts and waitresses can be rude and dismissive- the hostess yelled at me over the phone when I was trying to confirm my reservation and then in person she just hurriedly walked me to my table with not a single smile. Its like theyre so busy they didnt care for my business. But on the contrary, the staff at yorkdale really take care of you and make sure you have a nice experience. However, there is also a price difference that I noticed between the two locations, with yorkdale items being 20 to 30% more expensive than here (comparing the siu mai or shrimp dumplings, for example). Food wise, I thought the bamboo charcoal egg yolk bun, which had a dry grainy filling, was not as good as the molten egg yolk bun at yorkdale, which was liquid molten egg custard that would drip out of the bun. I thought the siu mai at yorkdale was also slightly better. The bean curd roll was a bit of a let down because they put celery into it which I dont think is traditional, and the sticky rice didnt have that much meat filling. However, I did enjoy their pork bun a lot and their durian puff pastry was very flavorful and had a good amount of durian in it. The fried octopus tentacles were also decent. So, Id say if you are looking for a little bit of pampering and really good customer service and youre willing to pay a bit more, go to the yorkdale location. If all you care about is decent food and youre okay with the regular dim sum service level (servers and hostesses can be rude and dismissive, similar to most dim sum places), come here for some slightly cheaper dim sum. In both locations, the decor is really beautiful, if you are trying to impress anybody visiting town.
Short wait, good food, reasonably priced. Attentive service. Wheelchair accessibility: Special entrance for wheelchair if you ask. Accessible restroom on the first floor. Food : 5/5 |
great seafood
Fish has no fishy taste Lobster half cooked Sea ginseng is tasteless You have to change the disc yourself Food taste bad, need to serve myself.
This place is very nice, not like your traditional dim sum place...I will definitely be back. The service and food was very good. I like the dessert in the green wrapping with finely grounded peanuts, haw gaw, beef rice roll with veggies (awesome combo flavor), and sui mei. Their flavor isnt over powering, so everything balanced very nicely. I think next time we eat here on our first day visiting vs the last day. Please see pics of the items. The shrimp rice roll was not too well flavored...strong seafood taste. Wheelchair accessibility: There are steps to get in the doors, not wheelchair accessible.
It is not as delicious as expected. The shrimp meat in the almond fried shrimp has no taste. The mala cake is not soft enough and moist. The shrimp dumpling skin is rotten. The shrimp meat lacks its own taste. The skin of the durian cake is not crispy enough. The durian is too sweet. Overall, it is not recommended.
Yu Seafood did an amazing job for our wedding. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Our guests were very happy with the reception
Good place to have yummy dim sum, but minus 1 star for not accepting credit card.
I arrived at 9:10am, waiters/waitress are friendly and serviced very well to every table. Various delicious food impressed me. Wishing all cups, chopsticks and spoons are kept in containers with lids. Food
Nice services and delicious food.
Amazing food as always. Kenny, our server, is excellent. One million out of one million stars.
So, the staff were really nice, and attentive. The food was brought out promptly. The quality of the food was mediocre at best. For exorbitant prices it should have been better. Food : 2/5
Typical dim sum dishes with a few tweaks. Seating is quite nice and spacious. However be prepared to wait for table. Seating /dining time is limited to 1 1/2 hours. Parking: It s never enough parking space for all the Chinese plazas in Richmond Hills, Markham areas during peak hours. Half an hour for finding a parking spot is normal.
Not taking credit card, quite inconvenient
WORST service in Toronto so far. When we got in trying to find the table, nobody was at concierge and NO ONE reached out to help. We got into a wrong room, then a SHORT HAIR WAITRESS stared at me and said Have u booked a table? You should have asked for help instead of walking around like that? as if i was trying to trespass. how RUDE was that. The manager who served us was nice but the food was rushed to our table all at once like we are eating at a fast food place. Worst thing about it is the Sashimi platter came after the main dishes . very disappointing. So i am giving 1 star for services, for the manager only. The food was good except that the crab was very dry, probably over fried. A decent place but given the poor service. This is severely overpriced. Will NEVER visit again.
Poor service, looks like they don t want to be there to do the work. Food is good though.
Waitlist was nice with detailed information. Service was slow and incomplete. Many dishes arrived without condiments, had to request things like hot sauce, vinegar, mustard. The smaller room we were seated in smelled fishy. Half of the items we requested from the order sheet never got ordered at all. Getting the bill and change took a very long time, they dont accept credit.
We came here from New York and were extremely disappointed by the food and service. Will not come back again. * Shrimp dumpling had an eye lash inside and they replaced with new one without any explanation or discount * Front desk and online google maps said they accept credit card but got denied when we paid, say cash or WeChat pay only. Had to go to atm for cash * Food was all right, average but not great beef tripe was very bland and egg yolk buns were not warm enough (egg yolk solid inside instead of liquid).
I had to change my rating from a 4 to a 3 after our experience tonight. They randomly removed dishes from the menu (online and the physical menu) without actually changing them in the menu. They said they are now focused on Szechuan cuisine and have moved away from the dishes they used to serve by merely putting a laminated sheet of menu (attached) inserted into the Main Menu book. We ordered the shredded chicken (horrible) and the Peking duck two ways, borderline so so. We definitely won t be driving over an hour to this place again.
I like the atmosphere here, it s a relatively safe choice. Morning tea and dinner are both enjoyable.
Excellent service and outstanding dimsum! Everything is fresh made and arrives hot. Nothing has been floating around table to table. Extensive menu provides a bunch of choices for dimsum breakfast. Will surely go back to try dinner menu! The decor is beautiful and the place, unlike many in nearby Leslie and Hwy 7 corridor, is super clean. You would actually allow your children to use the bathroom here.
Exceptional Lunch Party at Yu Seafood Restaurant, Toronto! Our lunch party for 42 at Yu Seafood Restaurant in Toronto was an outstanding experience. The staff and management were incredible patient, helpful, and efficient. Special mention goes to the manager, Yoyo, whose exceptional coordination and attention to detail ensured everything ran smoothly. The food was equally impressive. From the succulent beef & okra to the fresh lobster and delectable seafood platters, every dish was a culinary delight. The flavors were exquisite, and the presentation was impeccable, reflecting the high standards of the restaurant. The ambiance was elegant and inviting, providing the perfect backdrop for our gathering. The spacious seating and tasteful décor added to the overall enjoyment of the event. Overall, Yu Seafood Restaurant delivered an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommended for any event!
If I have a choice, this restaurant deserves NO stars. Yu Seafood is a horrible restaurant with rude services, from receptionist at the front to the waitresses. Came on a weekday morning and was rudely greeted 1.5 hours upon entry, with no smiles nor explanation what the 1.5 hours was for. It may look upscale inside, but dont let that fool you. Its ALL COSMETIC, especially the washroom where you need to walk a long flight of stairs upstairs and floor is slippery. Food arrived cold and very small plated, where any other mediocore dim sum places in Richmond Hill, Markham, or even Scarborough is better than Yu Seafood. Waitresses may wear uniform to look professional, but they are not. They are just greedy and unprofessional, and watched and waited until you tipped them 20% before walking away. Would not return again.
Great dim sum choices
The food is okay, the waiter is very nice, the food is served too slowly, the fish was steamed for more than 45 minutes and will not be refunded
Deep fried young pigeon was very salty. The fish dish was no tasty at all and fishy. Wont come back again.
We liked Yu Seafood before but today s experience was more than disappointing. This is my husband s birthday dinner. They took out our delicate birthday cake out of the box without even asking for permission. Most importantly, they cut out an edible layer and damaged the main decoration. On top of that, they did not pack half of our to-go boxes. When we asked for the missing boxes, it turned out the boxes were put aside in at random corner.
Waited on waitlist for 45 minutes for a table of seven, they told us to requeue likely another hour because my party was not present.
good luck trying to get a seat here. you can wait hours before you get a seat. there s an online reservation system which they never enable. you get a ticket but they can put people in front of you at their discretion, bump you down, or give your table away if not all people are present. servers do not care at all, they have enough business if you leave. the foods decent but not worth at all the war you go through to give them your money
Line up is endless. After waiting for 45min, we were told that only all guests are in store, they could give us a table, eventually we lost our table after a few min past because some guests couldn t find parkings.
Absolutely indescribably great experience. I will return at every opportunity.
Dim sum is lovely, highly recommended.
Its quite speechless. Such a big store doesnt accept credit cards... It only accepts cash, debit and WeChatpay... In this era, even a small shop outside can accept credit cards to eat soup noodles, so A big store refuses to accept credit cards with such high spending... Who would be so dangerous to go out with a large stack of cash? And if credit cards are not accepted, a notice should be posted to inform guests. Its not like saying it verbally and saying it afterwards, its quite speechless.
Ambience 10/10 Food 8/10 - we ordered the lobster dinner but found that the lobster pieces were sliced quite largely (not a bad thing) but just made it hard to eat Service 9/10 Food : 4/5
Classic no nonsense dim sum restaurant with great prices. Some dishes were a little brand but majority were still quite good and definitely great value. Highly recommend the fried sesame balls with salty egg paste.
Great food. Atmosphere was great.
Extremely bad!
I took my family for morning tea. The environment was nice. Some snacks were cheaper than Ju* but the portions were smaller. Recommend the durian cake and bean sprout crystal gum, we like them both.
We had a truly delicious meal and excellent service! Our waiter Kenny was kind and attentive, the food was luxurious, and the soya sauce was flavorful and unique!
Friendly service, food was tasty, atmosphere was calming.
Foods were expensive, but cooking was disappointing. Chicken in Stew chicken with basil had lots of bones, Luffa in Grouper with Luffa in fish soup was not peel properly with lots of hard skin left. Also, I was surprised that an upscaled restaurant like this does not take any credit card. So be sure to bring your debit cards or enough cash with you! Parking: Maybe challenging to find parking lots during lunch and dinner time on the weekends
Ive never had such bad Chinese food at this price point before: - Shrimp and scallop in XO sauce: while the sauce was decent, the chef clearly didnt season any of the shrimp because it turned into a flavorless mass in your mouth - 3 cup chicken: the most overcooked version of this classic dish Ive ever had the misfortune to taste - Grouper and luffa soup: the soup itself was pretty tasty, but the luffa was improperly peeled - Snowpea leaves with crab meat: the only evidence that this had ever come in contact with crab was the bits of broken shell interspersed between the vegetables because none of the components in this dish seemed to have any flavour Positives: - Turbot: the only good entrée - Matcha pancake with nuts: nicely balanced mix, sweet, nutty, and earthy flavours - Ginger steamed pudding: wouldve preferred a little more ginger, but not bad Service: - Service was okay, but underpar for a restaurant at this price point. We could also hear the manager shrieking at one of the waitstaff in the background. tl;dr: Maybe their dim sum is better, but their food was worse than food court Chinese takeout, but cost $460 for a table of 6. Also, they dont accept credit card payments for some reason, just cash or debit. No discounts for cash purchases either.
Wait for a table for 1-3 is longer than larger parties, the two of us got a table after 30 minutes wait. Food took another 20. This is for lunch on a Monday. The place is busy. We got shu-mai, har gow, octopus, beef balls and spring rolls. Enough for two. Service is excellent. Food was great. If I had to be critical, the spring rolls were a bit greasy even though they absolutely delicious and the shu mai had some gristle bits. I highly reccomend.
Yu Seafood is a well-regarded Chinese restaurant known for its high-quality dim sum, fresh seafood, and elegant dining experience. Located in Richmond Hill, Ontario, its a popular spot for those seeking authentic Cantonese cuisine with a focus on fresh ingredients and traditional preparation. **Ambiance:** The restaurant features a modern and luxurious interior, with a spacious dining area that includes private rooms for special occasions. The décor is a blend of contemporary design with traditional Chinese elements, providing a comfortable and upscale atmosphere. **Food:** Yu Seafood is especially famous for its dim sum, which is available daily. The dim sum menu offers a wide variety of dishes, from classic options like har gow (shrimp dumplings) and siu mai (pork dumplings) to more creative and innovative selections. The seafood dishes are the stars of the menu, with live seafood tanks allowing customers to choose their fish or crustaceans. Signature dishes include lobster with garlic and vermicelli, steamed fish, and abalone. The quality of the ingredients and the skill in preparation are consistently praised. **Service:** Service at Yu Seafood is generally attentive and professional, though like many busy restaurants, it can occasionally be slower during peak hours. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and often offers recommendations, especially for those new to certain dishes. **Price:** Yu Seafood is on the higher end of the price spectrum, reflecting the quality of the ingredients and the overall dining experience. Its a popular choice for special occasions and gatherings, where the cost is justified by the experience. **Overall:** Yu Seafood is highly recommended for those who appreciate authentic Cantonese cuisine, especially seafood lovers. While it can be pricey, the quality of the food, ambiance, and service make it a worthwhile destination for a memorable dining experience.
Seafood is a must-have at every family dinner ! It still tastes just as good.
Fish surprised me this time. Now that there is Sichuan food, it tastes very good It is worth paying attention to
Good quality foods, but this time some dishes not hot so I was not impressed otherwise everytime is good & clean washroom .. great for family gathering with good friends. Highly recommended but the price is double from other restaurants thou.wish is more affordable but if everyone chip in then is affordable
Unbelievable waiting time. Table for two for dim sum, Update (July 2024) NO credit card accept for dine in nor take out.
Overpriced with poor service.
Food was mediocre with a strict seating time of 1.5 hr per table for dimsum. We were rushed out to to pay the bill.
I was disappointed with my experience at Yu s Seafood. The dim sum was not as great as expected. Surprisingly, they only accept cash and debit cards, which is not convenient for visitors who prefer to use credit cards. Canada IRS may need to audit them why they only take cash for a such big restuarant. Additionally, the was not at all. We ended up wasting money as we threw the whole dish out. Overall, not a satisfying visit.
The service is good and the food is delicious. I will continue to come here next time
Good place for dim sum, definitely recommend reserving a table ahead of time
The environment is beautiful, the snacks are exquisite and delicious, and the service is even better! Although you have to wait for a table, its definitely worth it! Highly recommended!
Among the many restaurants on Hwy7, only Yushanfang is a high-end teahouse that integrates service, taste and dining environment. The lunch prices are affordable and affordable, and the dim sum is exquisite. The fried crabs ordered are delicious and the presentation is very stylish. It is the best choice for entertaining guests and family gatherings. Like
Dynamite, upscale Asian seafood mecca, with outstanding food and impressive atmosphere. Not cheap, by any means, but a great place for anything seafood, from Dim-Sum to monster Lobster towers, its guaranteed to impress your date or guests.
The interior is amazing, but everything was average or below average. We went for the ealry bird special of ordering before 11 am weekdays. We arrived at 930 am and it was still a 20 minute wait. We ordered the Har gow 3/5 good but skin was thicker than most higher end restaurant and there was a shrimp shell in one of the dumpling. Even the bulk one from mass produced factory in scarborough do not have shells anymore. Scallops dumpling 0/ 5 very thick skin, minimal scallops taste and tasted premade from a supermarket Rice in lotus leaf. 3/5 Sticky Rice was high quality but the meat lacked taste and very light in seasonings Steamed salmon head 5/5 excellent taste and deep flavour Durian cake 4/5 durian filing was light, fluffy and flavorful. Repeat : no! There are way too many good restaurants to settle for fine dining with a basic taste even with a discount.
My mom had clam congee, it must be frozen one, and it was bad. They cancelled the item, but she still got 2 times of diarrhea after went back home. Very disappointed and it was for her birthday.
Food is great, service and atmosphere are at average. You can expect long line if you don t make a reservation.
Can be better
A d
Very good food delicious elegance
Great Dim Sum experience. The only downside is the long wait. Even with reservations, it will take some time to be seated.
The food produced by the kitchen department is very good and the service is very attentive. Especially today s special lobster The meat is thick and chewy. Very fresh!
Everything was fresh. And delicious.
Expensive and unpalatable Lobster seafood has no flavor at all The fish is not fresh and a bit fishy MSG, very thirsty
First time dining here and it was a great experience. The system they have setup for seating walk-ins is genius. Its mostly automated and theres a giant screen, telling you which parties are being seated next. As for the ambiance/atmosphere inside, it was very spacious and luxurious looking. The only design issue I have is the washrooms. Theyre located upstairs and awkwardly designed. The washrooms, themselves, are nice inside. The food was good, everything came out steaming hot, which it should be. Service was on point. There were plenty of people working the floor, so youd never have trouble getting someones attention if you needed something. It is a bit pricy but its worth it. Their line for dim sum can get pretty long, so Id recommend going early or have someone go and get a table first. Parking: Theres plenty of parking; however, immediate parking in front is limited. Youll have to park around the back, which can be a bit of walk. If you have a large group, it may be beneficial to drop them off to grab a number first, to start waiting in line.
Much better than the Yu Seafood at Yorkdale and better prices. Will have to try the dinner one day.
