I came in for lunch around 1:00 on a Thursday. Wasn’t busy at all. I ordered the Pad Thai which came with a choice of side. I chose the Tom Yum soup. It was incredible! The pad Thai was also very good. Not the best I’ve had but certainly very good! Service was good and timely and the food came to the table piping hot!
Coming to this restaurant for the first time with my family. It is a very decent restaurant and things are nicely organised. Food and service were both great and we had a great time here.
Amazing food and excellent customer service.
The Tom Yum soup, and the coconut soup is very, very rich in flavour. No words can describe the taste of the Tom Yum soup. Very, very good. The lamb and chicken skewer was grilled very nicely. Seasoned very well, and aromatic. Pork chop was also grilled very nice. Although it was seasoned, I would have liked some sauce to complement the pork chop. The restaurant was only at 50% capacity, but food serving time was very long. There are only two people working, the server and the chef.
First visit and it was pretty good. I want to go back and try some of the other dishes. I had a Laksa which came with a soup and a side. I chose the beef sate and it was delicious! The laksa was pretty good too. I’ll be back to try a few more dishes. Price was reasonable in post Covid times and the service was friendly.
We went for lunch, ordered 2 set lunch: Curry beef brisket with Rice and Beef brisket with noodle soup. Food quality is average, not bad but no surprise. However portion is too small when you pay $16.99 and $14.99. Waitress is polite but not attentive, always chatting in the kitchen.
Food was amazing, especially the chicken, which was very juicy, tender, moist and crispy. Did not have to wait very long for the food at all, even with only one waitress working. Definitely recommend a visit.
The Indonesian fried chicken and Beef brisket with curry are both delicious! Tum Yum Kung soup can be better. Pad Thai is ok but the Pineapple fried rice needs more flavor. An extra star for their excellent service.
Food and service is good. Really like their roast chicken, beef brisket, oxtail
Consistently good and tasty. We requested not so spicy and we can enjoy the dishes with no problems.
Awful service. My family and I ordered Mother s Day dinner for tonight and we received two delay notices from the Uber Eats app informing us of these huge delays. It is now 8pm on a Sunday night, we are still waiting another 46 min to be able to have dinner with our children!!! The restaurant answered in the 8th ring and quickly told us it s almost ready and hung up. Uber eats did nothing except offer us $14?!? I am never ordering from this place again, it s soooo disappointing bc we have always liked it here..
Small ma and pa, expect that and you wont be disappointed
Havent been here in over a decade but the food is still excellent.
The food is so amazing and very polite lovley service. Highly recommended for everyone. Thank you Bali restaurant
IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE FOOD QUALITY AND SERVICES, DON T SPEND YOUR TIME AND MONEY IN THIS RESTAURANT. Base on the name of the restaurant should be Indonesian but it s NOT. Their menu has Thai, Singaporean foods. Seems like only one cooker in the kitchen and they re so slow to serve. Totally It doesn t worth it. Never back to this restaurant.
If you go at 11am. Not all food is available yet. Service was good. Food portion wasn t great for the price that is being charged. We ordered a laksa that was 14.99 but had one shrimp in it. Overall portion was small. Taste is a bit on the bland side. My wife was ok with it as you can drink the whole soup base without feeling like you consumed a lot of msg. Overall not a bad experience. But as a guy, the right portion and flavour is pretty key. So therefore 3 star review.
Coconut chicken noodle soup is good for lunch! The lunch comes with milk tea as complimentary. Great service!
Great food, family owned restaurant. Very friendly.
Food was mediocre. We went for dinner on a weekend and there was only 2 other tables. We ordered the recommended combo for 4 and portions were quite small. Nothing special and probably wouldn t come again.
really good food but service is too slow. the table cloth is never washed. still good food and very nice servers but slow.
Used to be good pre-covid not anymore
The food is delicious and fresh and not overpriced and the staff are super nice and welcoming. The whole experience was amazing. We will return!
The food was amazing, defs recommend the coconut chicken noodles and the lemongrass pork chop!
Very yummy food!!! We tried Green Curry and Pad Thai. Green Curry looked watery but it was actually good - the taste was excellent. The Pad Thai was one of the yummiest ones Ive had around Richmond Hill area. We will be back
It s a good place for casual chat~
Lovely restaurant. Good with kids. Food is tasty. Service is fast, friendly, and helpful. Tea is something special too.
Surprisingly, the food was great. It looked not appealing at first but when the food was served, first impression was crushed. Will be back again to try other food in the lunch menu.
Great family run restaurant that provide an array of Asian fusion dishes. Parking: Plaza has sufficient parking. Kid-friendliness: Bench seating available against wall provides easy monitoring young kids by mothers.
Tasty and Friendly family restaurant!
We were glad that we had picked this restaurant. The service we received was exceptional. Their food was amazingly good, we especially loved their naan and veggie curry, eggplant in tangy sauce.
We had a group of 15 people for afternoon tea and snacks. The cook/ owner planned an individual sized menus for us with spring rolls, Indonesian fried chicken, grilled pork, meatballs and rice noodles in soup, curry beef and tendon, stir fried noodles with fresh vegetables ........with specialty tea/hot water. The bill was only $16/person all included. The service good and atmosphere cozy. We would come back again for sure!!
We ordered from Bali for an event at work. The food and portion sizes were delicious and above expectations.
Overall nice seating environment. Decent food quality. Friendly service but sometimes slow due to insufficient staff
Pricey, but delicious!
Amazing quality food. Ordered the Hainanese chicken with rice lunch special. Included spring rolls as an app. Chicken is flavourful and tender. Rice is on point. Will be back.
Great quality food and a wide selection of food types.
Very good quality of food and very good service - but a little pricey. This place serves Southeast Asian inspired food (the name is misleading as they do not have any real Indonesian food) in a cozy family-friendly setting. The crispy fried chicken and pork neck here are absolute must-tries. The coconut chicken soup is also super solid. However, the prices, given their semi-modest settinf, can be a bit off-putting. That being said, the quality of their meats are indeed very good. And the people running the place are sweet, hard-working honest folks!
Nice cozy environment with good Southeast Asia food.
We had Hainan Chicken, Laksa and Mackerel. All three were delicious. Each dish comes with a choice of side dish. Soup, spring rolls or mango salad. The owner is friendly and works hard as she was covering both serving the tables and working the kitchen. I would definitely want to come back to try other items on the menu.
Good food
Randomly stumbled upon this restaurant and really enjoyed the food. The owners are very friendly and care about their little family owned business. Would come back just for the coconut chicken soup!
Like the atmosphere and friendly staff....family run restaurant, must try the papaya fish soup
Food was good
Good service nice food
Very good food and great service
I enjoyed the curry beef brisket on rice. That was really good and mildly spicy; I cant handle spicy foods. Also ordered the Hainanese Chicken Rice and that one was just regular chicken on rice. The chicken was still juicy!
Nice small restaurant. Look forward to dine in there when things open up again :)
I had visited Bali myself years ago on a retreat, and I have to say that the food was so similar at this location as it was in Bali. I was able to meet the chef who was a lovely indonesian man with the most charm and chrisma ever. The blackend jerk chicken was so mouthwatering and the thai jasmine rice was enough to make me feel like I had flown back to Bali in an instant. I will always visit whenever I am in Canada.
Probably the worse laksa noodle I had, it was blend, no aroma or flavor. My friend orderer Hainan chicken with rice, no flavor had to ask for soya sauce. We ordered a side dish of stir fried vegetables, small portion and it was way too salty, and a few pieces had sand. I wouldve returned the dish, but the server was no where to be seen. For the price, i expected better service and better food.
Great food, limited staff during covid.
Athletic food
Its been a while since I came here due to covid but stopped in for lunch with some family. Normally we order the Hainan chicken but it was sold out by 1pm on a friday. Disappointed, I was recommend the pork chop. To my surprise, it was juicy and you got 2 of them! I bet they brine the pork, it was seasoned well and not dry at all. Definitely recommend for a quick lunch or takeout.
Good food and good services. Very friendly and willing to serve.
Very good Indonesia fried rice. The lady staff is very friendly. Clean and bright.
Friends and I had very good time here . The food was so tasty and the service is so nice.
Misleading name as they barely serve Indonesian food. Poor service. Food was okay.
3 of us ordered our lunch together and the food was served in 20 minutes gap. One of us had the meal, finished, and the second order came, then the third.
The taste is not as good as before, maybe the chef has changed.
Food are good but limited choices!
We ordered 4 types of dishes and only 1/4 was alright. The food isn t authentic at all and it s very expensive for the quality you re getting. Golden curry with beef - bland. No taste at all for the beef brisket DO NOT ORDER Green curry with beef - has more flavour than the golden curry but not much curry curry flavour Laksa noodles - taste like a bowl of milk with noodles DO NOT ORDER hainan chicken - regular chicken with rice and the rice they kinda try the traditional way where the rice has a higher fat density then regular rice but they didn t include the garlic or salt. also no sauce was provided
clean and serving 4 tables at most during these times
Food is good, service is also very good.
Very good curry dishes and wet noodle soup
Good food and friendly service. Hianese chicken rice only come with ginger sauce, chicken is smooth and rice is fragrant. Remember their roast chicken is pretty good too
One of the better Thai/ Singaporean/ Malay restaurants in Rhill!! We ordered the Tom yum noodle soup with fish, pork meatball with rice vermicelli, pad Thai, and the char-grilled lemon grass chicken with rice! Wow, we were impressed! Everything was flavourful, and authentic! We enjoyed every dish and service was very friendly. I would definitely come back again!
Regular price. Lunch menu $9-13. Laksa has not hot (not spicy at all) but taste of. Comes with milk tea.
Lunch good price
Last visited this place many years ago and happened to be in the area so came here for dinner. There were only 3 tables including us on a Monday night around 6. We ordered a curry beef brisket combo and a laksa. Both were a disappointment. Both lacked authenticity. The curry was just spicy and didnt have true curry flavour and the laksa simply did not have any flavour at all! We have had much better curry and laksa at most HK style cafes nd even some food courts for a fraction of the price. The only saving grace was the service but that alone would not be enough to entice me to come back to this resto again!
The food was good as usual. My favourites choices are Thai green curry chicken with Tom Yum soup and they did not disappoint. However, the service was slower than usual; perhaps because of the large number of customers today, some waiting to get in.
It seems to be closed but today its open again. According to the staff, the restaurant sometimes closes early (7pm?!) or not open especially during winter or bad weather. Its better to call after 6pm to see if they are open or not before going. Food wise, its not bad. Especially the coconut tom yum goong (hot and sour) soup. Service is good. Ordered lunch, coconut tom yum goong is not part of the regular lunch offer. Add $1.5 for the coconut tom yum goong. (as of 2019 March)
Ok food
Service always good, but food quality is going from good to worse, not planning to go back as there are so many other better choices around this area. Two stars for the friendly waitresses!
So far weve tried Pad Thai and Hainan Chicken, very authentic taste. Great soup and milk tea. The aunties (waitresses) are also really nice, would often give us tips as to whats bang for our buck. Did take out once and they even wrapped our food with aluminum foil to keep it warm. So glad to have found this hidden jewel!
Lemon Grass Chicken awful...totally unsatisfied!!! I went here tonight based on the recommendations of someone that is local and knows the restaurant as a good thai place. I ordered one of the dinner combos for $18.99 but later she charged me $19.99 instead. I enjoyed the mango salad and one of the tom kai soups. The soup was nice. However, the portions for both was very small. It was more for a kids size. I asked if I could have a smaller portion of the mixed vegetables, and she obliged and indicated it would be $8.99 and it ended up being some carrots, mushrooms, baby corn and broccoli and some tofu. The regular size was $11.99. I know I did not get my value and I got ripped off. She said the lemon grass chicken would come later. It came and it was a flattened piece of dark meat and fried on either side and not one pinch of lemon grass it seems. It was not even skinless, boneless chicken breast! I could not even taste the lemon grass or thought they left it out. I told the owner this and she says they will make it stronger next time. She did not even apologize. There was another table having a chicken dish and she pointed out to me that I should order the indonesian chicken next time. Unfortunately, there will NOT be a second time. Totally dissatisified with my chicken dish and bill with taxes came to $32.89 for one person.
Clean place, good service, not so good food, small portions ...
I really like the roasted chicken? Im not sure exactly what the dish is, but its chicken thighs with a crunchy skin and it comes with a peanut doing sauce. That chicken is fantastic. The rest of the food is excellent too, just make sure you order that chicken.
The food was really delicious! Service was great!! The owner and staff were very friendly and nice. The restaurant was pretty clean. We enjoyed the dinner and will surely recommend this restaurant.
Great service and foods were alright.
Good food but slow service. Dinner a bit pricey.
Unbelievably slow. Two servers covering the whole restaurant during one busy lunch time. Food taste good though.
Good food, reasonable pricing, the service could be a bit slow at times but overall very friendly
Great place, friendly people! Best Indonesian food Ive ever had
Slow service. Food not bad. You might not want to eat here if you are in a rush.
I love soya sauce chicken
Always homey and welcoming. They always make things fresh everyday some dishes may run out if you come later. Might not be fully authentic but always delicious and comforting, especially the curries and soup noodles for winter.
Cant tell if its authentic but its quite delicious.
Good food
Food quality is good. Place is clean. Price is decent.
Food was ok. Floors were a little dirty. Seems they run out of food pretty quickly.
Food is great, as are the prices. Service is a little slow though.
Fantastic food at a great price. Pad thai was excellent. Cant wait to try more!
Great food, friendly owners. Good price too.
Food is excellent serb is very good.price is reasonable.
We enjoyed our dinner for 2 and added an extra soup and their Indonesian roast chicken. Everything was delicious. Tom yum was hot (temp) and a great flavour. He combo came with Pad Thai (several choices for noodles to select) and beef brisket curry ( also several choices).
Friendly service, good food and the price is right.
Night place pack with young people..
Their Indonesian Roast chicken is truly outstanding.
Food is good! Service is good. Good place to go for lunch around the area
I like it.
Good curry. Excellent crispy skin chicken.
The food is very good
coconut chicken soup noodle is the best
First time visit food is good and good service. Slightly in the expensive side.
Food OK but not the greatest, fav caffe`s Indonesian chicken fried rise is bettet
Delicious food.
So good
Food is good, I like them not using too much salt.
Nice place
great service nice food
Very delicious food. Reasonable prices. Not the friendliest staff. :)
Went on a Saturday evening. This was my 3rd time coming to this restaurant. Two of the things we wanted to order were sold out: laksa and belachan choy sum (specifically the belachan.) These are two items Id consider staples in Malaysian and/or Singaporean cuisine.
Great food! Service is improving.
Good food and the owner is very nice
Bali is an island located in Indonesia and this business has poorly represented the quality of Indonesian cuisine in their menu. Once a customer and am not coming back nor recommending to other customers who are reading the reviews.
Good food and I loved the milk tea
I like the food. The combo is a good deal.
Good food and very reasonably priced .
nice and clean. well priced
Most delicious Indonesian style chicken
Reasonable priced. Be patience with the sometime slow service, then you may enjoy their good quality food.
Very good Tom yum soup. Good food decent prices.
They hv set dinner including soup and dessert. I like the coconut soup.
Love their aromatic soy chicken and char grilled lemon grass chicken. I usually order that once or twice a week.:P
Wasnt very authentic
Good is great but a bit slow. Love the green curry chicken and coconut chicken noodle.
Slow service at lunch and portions are small
Good price and good food
Very good Soy chicken
Nice and affordable place for lunch! Love the tom yum soup
Love their Tom Yum soup ( not too spicy hot) and the mango salad. Lunch has a selection of set meals which includes a soup or salad and a tea/coffee. Prices are reasonable .
Had their curry beef and chicken and it was delicious (take out)
I ve been coming here for more than 3 years with my family. The food is consistently delicious and always fresh. I highly recommend the green curry if you like spice, their Hainan chicken and lemongrass pork chop are also my favourites. The service is always friendly too. The only downside is if the restaurant is busy, expect a long wait for your food, otherwise I highly recommend this place.
Seriously... Great food and good price...
The meat ball soup noodle thing is so delicious! Theyre a bit slow here but the food is damn tasty!
Amazing restaurant. Very busy sometimes but the service is great. They serve very good curry rice. I would say this is in my top 19 Asian restaurant.
Food tasty and fresh. As previous comment, wait is too long on busy hrs. If you only have 30 min lunch time, not a good place when its busy.
Food was okay, not very authentic. customers were all seniors
The food is average and quality is inconsistent. I will not go there again because I had a diarrhea after having the BBQ chicken dish. This also happened to one of my friend who had the same dish. Thinking this might be an isolated incident or something else that we have consumed, this happened to another friend after consuming the Hainanese chicken rice ( ). The service depends on who you are dealing with. Two of the 3 female servers are friendly and constantly have a smile on their face but there is always a black sheep in every flock. This chubby lady with glasses always gives people attitude. She tends to slam the dish when it arrives and doesn t utter a word when you say something to her.
Food is ok, but had to wait at least 40 minutes for it.
Food/services/parking is okay ...
Not authentic Thai food.
